In this special Q&A, The MFCEOEOE and his co-host, Von Kohler, answer some of your burning questions. Topics covered include: - How much sleep should you get in a day? - How many hours should you be awake? - Is 9-5 work better than 9-6 work? - Should you grind it out 24/7? - What's the right amount of hours to work on a project? - Can you get it all done in 24 hours? - Is it better to get things done in the morning, or do you need more sleep to get it done?
00:02:29.180Andy, in the episode of Productivity, you mentioned that people who say that they grind it out 24-7 are lying or stupid or somehow, you know, they're just like have psychological problems or exaggerating.
00:02:42.740You said that it's not just about hustling, but hustling smart.
00:02:46.400And you explained that successful people who are super productive accomplish more between, you know, like 5 in the morning and 10 than most other people, and they can just screw around the rest of the day.
00:02:55.460I mean, paraphrasing what you've said.
00:02:57.880But then, in a Periscope, you agreed with Gary Vee, who said 9 to 6 won't cut it, and that you did have to put in the hours to hustle, et cetera.
00:03:06.520So, is the MFCEO just MF contradicting himself?
00:03:11.080Please explain this to your loyal listeners.
00:07:41.400But the reality is if your brain is not able to comprehend what he's talking about, you probably shouldn't even fucking – you should probably just clock in and clock out and go home and barbecue.
00:09:49.360Balance is – well, that's one way to look at balance.
00:09:52.600If you're an average – if you're a regular dude who wants to be a regular person and go through life being regular, this isn't a podcast for you.
00:10:00.380This is an entrepreneurial success-based podcast.
00:10:14.600So when I say that's not balance, that is balance for certain people, and that's okay.
00:10:19.660But for you, and I'm assuming you're listening for success, your balance idea should be, hey, I'm going to work my fucking ass off for the next five to ten years as hard as I can.
00:10:48.460For me, I think a better word instead of balance is rhythm and realizing that sometimes in your life you're going to have this intense, you know, two or three weeks of work.
00:10:57.340And then you're going to be able to relax for a little bit and then go back to work and then relax.
00:11:11.720The reason people have this conflicting ideal about balance is because they're trying to fit their lives into the box somebody else is fucking defining.
00:11:41.660You know, if you go to work and you just put your time in like everybody else and go home, you have no right to expect success in an extraordinary fashion.
00:11:53.700Because you're not doing anything extraordinary.
00:11:56.200So, you know, the question is, do I contradict myself?
00:12:37.680Grinding out is traveling to a trade show.
00:12:39.820Grinding out is making phone calls, making, doing emails.
00:12:43.260It's all these things that you have to do outside of your normal duties of working in the business to, to work on the business, to make it grow.
00:12:54.140You know, the worst entrepreneurs I see are the ones who clock in like fucking regular workers and clock out and then they don't do shit.
00:13:30.880But then on the other extreme, you're, you're having people who say that, yeah, if I just put in a 70 or 80 hour work week, everything's going to be great.
00:13:38.380And to those people, you're saying, no, it's not just about the quantity of time.
00:14:31.520While I'm on that, if you really want to help us out, to be honest with you, I mean, reviews are the lifeblood of a podcast.
00:14:37.980So if you haven't done it on iTunes already, please do it.
00:14:41.060And then if you have done it on iTunes, another way that you could help us is if you copy your iTunes review and you go to Stitcher and you paste it into the Stitcher review, that just increases our SEO a lot.
