00:00:00.000 Hey guys, what's up? You're listening to the MFCEO Project. I am Andy and I am the motherfucking
00:00:22.660 CEO. Here we are on Thursday. We're going to do a little Thursday Thunder for you. I'm
00:00:27.760 here with my co-host Vaughn Kohler. What's up, Vaughn? Not much, man. It is way too hot
00:00:32.580 for December. Dude, I'm with you, man. I'm not liking it. I'm ready for some coal. I
00:00:36.660 like the season change. We've got some sales reps that are from Florida, California, and
00:00:42.480 they're like, oh, they come here and they're like, oh, I hate this. Dude, I like the season
00:00:45.280 change. You know what I don't like, though, is getting dark at 4.30 in the afternoon.
00:00:49.560 I totally agree. I totally agree. I want to spend six months out of the year next year
00:00:53.400 in a place where it doesn't do that. So if any of you people know of a place like that,
00:00:57.260 send me an email because I might be coming to live with you. I'm not kidding either.
00:01:02.100 You know, something dawned on me that I've never, I know you're a sports guy, right?
00:01:05.620 Yeah, yeah, yeah. And I mean, you grew up like in, what? Like, primarily football?
00:01:10.840 Oh, man, I play every sport. Yeah. But you know how you told a story about your dad saying,
00:01:14.960 you got to go, you got to get the puck. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Now, which one of you guys played
00:01:18.060 hockey? We both did. You did? And you played ice hockey or you played like field hockey?
00:01:22.920 Okay. So are you like a big blues fan? Yeah, for sure, dude. You can't live in St. Louis
00:01:26.740 and not be a blues fan. Come on. Yeah, I know. I'm learning about hockey a little bit. You
00:01:32.020 know, I grew up in Kansas. Oh, yeah. I forgot. You're not from here. Come on, dude. You go
00:01:34.800 ask that question around here. But the funniest thing happened. I don't know if you caught it
00:01:38.940 the other day. Tyler, are you a blues fan? Right. You are, really? I don't know. I just
00:01:45.800 associate high. The blues are as big as the Cardinals here, man. Okay. Blues are a big deal.
00:01:50.000 Yeah. They're not bigger than the Cardinals, though. No. Yeah, I think so. Well, this is
00:01:54.200 supposed to be like the best team ever. This is the best chance they have to win the Stanley
00:01:58.080 Cup, right? I mean, that's from what I understand. But anyway, do you see that thing about Roar
00:02:01.880 Bacon? Yeah. I'm going to set the stage for those who have no idea what we're talking about.
00:02:09.420 Right. Okay. A couple weeks ago here in St. Louis, there was a tweet that went out about
00:02:13.540 the St. Louis hockey game. All right. And the guy who tweeted it, I think he intended to
00:02:18.200 tweet, Blues ride Backus five goals to win the game. And just in case you're wondering,
00:02:23.760 David Backus is the captain of the Blues. Okay. He's an awesome player. Well, his phone
00:02:29.440 auto-corrected it to the Blues Roar Bacon. And I guess I should say it didn't technically
00:02:37.880 auto-correct it. I guess it screwed it up. But you know how your phone does that sometimes.
00:02:42.320 Well, anyway, funny thing is the fans totally picked up on the statement. And now it's become
00:02:46.120 this viral rally cry, Roar Bacon in St. Louis. So I thought that was pretty cool.
00:02:51.580 Dude, first of all, I don't know what it is about Roar Bacon, but it sounds like it'd be pretty good.
00:02:56.100 I'm just saying, man. Like, you know, if anybody's got some Roar Bacon out there for me, send me some.
00:03:00.800 But you know, it's funny. I thought that was hilarious too, because
00:03:04.180 first of all, we've all seen like the auto-correct funny emails on Facebook to go around and read them.
00:03:11.360 Those are some of the funniest fucking things I've ever read. But it got me thinking about like
00:03:15.600 you know, how our thoughts are shaped and what we do with those thoughts. You know,
00:03:22.040 we have so many negative thoughts and a lot of times those thoughts can just be expressed by single
00:03:26.800 words or phrases. And how we use words is hugely important to our success because it comes from
00:03:35.820 the perspective of how we view, how we feel emotionally, and how we ultimately act when
00:03:42.240 it comes to terms of success. So I thought something that would be cool that we could do
00:03:46.340 here would be like, you know, let's talk about some words that, you know, are one thing and then
00:03:53.520 let's auto-correct them to another thing in our brain. You're talking about training your brain
00:03:57.160 to auto-correct. Yes, because I think everybody, I think every successful person goes through that
00:04:00.380 process. They auto-correct or they see things automatically as something else when those
00:04:06.240 words are brought up. So what we've got is we've got a couple words here that we're going to go
00:04:10.860 through and we're going to talk about them and that you guys, you know, you can see the perspective
00:04:14.780 difference between what you think they might mean and what I personally think they might mean or what
00:04:19.940 somebody who's very successful might see those words to me. So I'll throw out the word and you're
00:04:23.920 going to auto-correct it, right? Okay. Okay. Um, word number one obstacle. I see the opportunity.
00:04:34.200 Okay. That's, that's the word I see. Obstacles and challenges are opportunity to get better.
00:04:39.180 They're opportunity to get improved. They're opportunity for you to move forward, to progress
00:04:43.640 and ultimately, you know, put a couple extra George Washington's in your pocket. Okay. You know,
00:04:48.180 so when you're, so when your mind says obstacle, you say train yourself to auto-correct it. I think
00:04:53.480 that's, I think every successful person does. And in an entrepreneurial mindset, you know, an obstacle,
00:04:58.820 you could substitute that word for problem. And then you want to develop a product that solves the
00:05:03.500 problem or an idea that solves a problem or an idea that makes it more convenient. I mean, you look at
00:05:07.540 something like Uber, you know, Uber fucking doesn't even own a cab and they're make a billion,
00:05:12.040 they're worth billions and billions and billions of dollars, you know, just because they made something
00:05:15.580 a tad bit more convenient for you. You know, it's, it's, it's, it's not a huge obstacle. It's a
00:05:21.300 small obstacle. I mean, most there's cabs in most places, right? Right. They just saw it as an
00:05:25.420 opportunity. Okay. You know, to get a little bit better. All right. Here's a word that's typed a lot
00:05:31.080 on the soul and mind and heart of people every day. Failure. I easily lessen. Okay. There is no
00:05:40.180 failures there. The failure happens when you stop. All right. A failure is only a failure. If you
00:05:46.560 didn't learn anything, I've, I've quote unquote failed and bankrupted eight businesses, but I don't
00:05:52.120 ever look at those things as failures. I look at them as things that I've learned that have allowed
00:05:58.480 me to be successful over the course of time. And when we've talked about this so many times, um,
00:06:04.040 and I just think that that, I think that word right there is the biggest one that people
00:06:10.380 misunderstand that they allow that word failure to creep into their mind, stop them taking action,
00:06:16.720 stop them from thinking productive thoughts and ultimately keep them in a cage that is defined by
00:06:22.180 society of average. I remember at the speaking, uh, event that you did at Bush stadium recently,
00:06:27.640 somebody said, Andy, what's your greatest failure? And I remember it cause it really stuck with me.
00:06:31.760 I've never heard you phrase it this way, but this is what you're talking about is that your response
00:06:35.560 was, I don't really think about it in that way. I don't think about biggest failure. I think of
00:06:40.020 greatest lesson learned. Yeah. And that's, that's the truth. That's pretty amazing. I mean, if people
00:06:44.100 could auto correct their brains to where every time they thought of failure, they thought of lesson,
00:06:48.620 dude, if I hadn't have failed all those companies, those little ideas that I had, there's no way I
00:06:52.000 would know what the fuck to do now. You know what I mean? So how can I look at those things as a failure
00:06:55.800 if they all contributed to where I am? The trick is, is that when you're going through the process
00:07:00.680 to be able to recognize that? I mean, it's easy for someone who's 10 years down the road
00:07:04.520 and they're doing okay now to see that as a lesson, but the trick is to see it as a lesson
00:07:10.300 while it's happening right now. And you say, you know what? Fuck, I won't do this again.
00:07:14.080 And to be able to take all the negative and oppressive emotion that makes you feel like
00:07:18.280 you're the size of an ant and just throw it up, throw it out the window and say, you know what?
00:07:22.820 I'm not going to do this anymore. I'm thankful for the lesson and move forward positively.
00:07:25.920 Yeah. Okay. So this last one's my favorite one because I know a lot of people like a lot of
00:07:31.060 people's brains like to auto-correct into this word. And I know it's one of your favorites. Lucky.
00:07:39.120 I think loser when I hear that word, honestly, but you know, let's say lucky. I would say
00:07:43.980 productive. I would say productive is a word that people could substitute with luck. It's not,
00:07:52.380 it's not luck. It's not magic. It's hard work. It's efficiency. It's effectiveness is execution
00:07:57.080 and it's perseverance through the word. Number two, the failures of your course and time that
00:08:02.920 are going to ultimately get you where you want to go. It's easy to say that guy's lucky. That guy's
00:08:08.280 got better circumstances. That guy has more advantages than I do. It's easy for people to say
00:08:13.680 that. And it's hard to do the work. So, you know, when you're in a group of people, three or four or
00:08:18.840 five people and you say that guy got lucky, everybody agrees. Like, yeah, heck I did get
00:08:23.020 fucking lucky. When in reality, you don't see like, for example, in my situation, the 10 years,
00:08:28.200 I didn't get a fucking paycheck. You know what I mean? Or when I did, it was just so irrelevant.
00:08:32.640 It was almost like getting nothing. You know, they don't see that. They see the end result. They see
00:08:37.800 the Lamborghini or they see, you know, the travel to exotic destinations or they see the, the,
00:08:43.120 the being the bossness of a CEO, you know, they don't fucking see what, what the perseverance it took
00:08:48.760 or, or the hard work it took or the execution habits that they took. They see luck. And it's
00:08:53.340 just far easier for people to say he, she, they got lucky than it is to admit the work that needs
00:08:58.780 to be done and do the fucking work. It's just easier. So my challenge to you guys would be every
00:09:03.480 time a negative thought enters your mind, willfully auto correct it on a conscious level, stop and think
00:09:08.080 of the flip side to be successful. You've got to win the battle that goes on in your mind. That's the
00:09:13.240 biggest battle you're ever going to face. The biggest enemy you're ever going to face is the voice
00:09:17.680 inside your head that says you're a failure. The voice inside your head that says those people
00:09:21.600 got lucky. The voice inside your head that says, this is too big of an obstacle for me to overcome.
00:09:26.700 And you've got to take your thoughts. You've got to bend them to your will. Negative words. All they
00:09:32.220 are is thoughts that are mental typos. Take your negative thoughts. Look at the flip side on a
00:09:37.080 conscious level every single day and see what happens. I guarantee you in 30, 60, 90 days,
00:09:42.060 you're going to have a totally different outcome than what you have now.
00:09:44.200 All I do is work, work, work. Love a run aside once. I only have a couple. Never take your day off.
00:09:50.700 I only have a couple. Work, work, work, work.
00:09:52.380 Work.
00:09:52.640 Work.
00:09:53.000 Work. Work.
00:09:53.020 Work. Work. Work. Work.
00:09:53.100 Work.å·®. Work. Work. Work. Work. Work.
00:09:54.600 Work. Work. Work. Work. Work. Work. work. Work. Work. Work. Work. Work. Work. Thanks. Work. Work. Work. Work. Work.
00:09:56.900 Work. Work. Work. Work. Work. Work. Work. Work. Work. Work. Work. Work. Work. Work. Work. Work. Work. Work.
00:09:57.800 Work. Work. Work. Work.
