00:01:48.360 time one of the one of the awesome young entrepreneurs that's out there doing it right

00:01:52.580 now really really excited to do this man thanks for having me i'm excited to be here yeah so do you

00:01:57.180 know snoop no i don't know snoop i met his cousins a few times yeah yeah apparently snoop was in the

00:02:03.320 same high school class with cameron diaz how do you fucking know this actually not because i research 0.91

00:02:08.280 rap thank you thank you went to polytechnic high school yeah thank you yeah don't stick up 0.99

00:02:14.060 dude is that really true yeah it's true no shit cameron diaz has like a beach house in 0.95

00:02:19.860 sunset beach right is that by you yeah yeah okay yeah she looked the best in the mask though and 0.96

00:02:25.000 then she went way down nah dude she was the hottest in something about mary she was cute yeah like dude 1.00

00:02:30.560 something about mary she was fucking hot yeah she she's nice what do you think tyler uh it was a fast 0.72

00:02:35.480 decline right after that movie yeah sure yeah why are you guys picking on her man why you can't say 0.91

00:02:40.780 another positive i'm just not a fan no i don't have anything against her personally but you know 0.97

00:02:46.080 well you don't know her personally so how the fuck would you have anything against her 0.71

00:02:50.220 jesus sometimes i think i should just do this on my own well i'll get another pastor yeah 0.98

00:02:57.940 former pastor people don't realize that you were a pastor they think that's a joke like no they think

00:03:03.080 that's a joke yeah tell us a little bit about your pastor days i don't even think we ever talked about

00:03:06.920 this i don't randall's the guest but we'll get to that in a second you're you're a randall's a

00:03:11.820 pastor no randall's the guest oh the guest jesus christ but we're gonna ask you about your pastor

00:03:17.840 days yeah i was a pastor for 10 years and in a little college town manhattan kansas home of kansas

00:03:23.740 state university and i tried to be faithful but also keep it real so i hung out with college students

00:03:29.760 two or three o'clock in the morning did you guys pastor bait you wait you had me told that whole

00:03:35.520 story just so you could say that right no no we didn't but it was great i loved it i just uh i

00:03:42.080 decided to turn my back on god and embrace money right yeah dude no no the life of podcast and

00:03:46.440 riches that's what somebody said randall early on they're like why'd you turn your back on god

00:03:49.780 dude people got mad at him for doing the podcast with me yeah they're like well you turn your back

00:03:54.720 on god for the life of podcasts and riches dude we should make a shirt that says podcasts and riches

00:03:59.400 great no so basically i was i wanted to be a originally i wanted to leave and become a

00:04:06.260 college professor because as andy points out i'm nerdy you know so you're nerdy but you're cool

00:04:10.940 sometimes yeah thanks i appreciate it but uh but then i became catholic it was all kind of together

00:04:15.240 it's it's it's an amazing story that i'll write and get a new york times bestseller all right okay all

00:04:19.940 right but it's good actually it's we had a great well i guess people will not will they have heard

00:04:25.660 the uh forget it i'm i'm confused all right moving on yeah randall is the owner of live fit apparel he's

00:04:36.280 one of the best young entrepreneurs out right now he's killing it on the gram he's killing it in

00:04:40.680 business and he started from nothing which is something that i always admire you know a lot of

00:04:46.640 people get advantages a lot of people come from certain advantages you are somebody who doesn't

00:04:51.380 um i also think that and and you correct me if i'm wrong here but i also feel like you know in

00:04:56.940 business there's people who are more business focused and there's people who are creators i feel

00:05:02.540 like you're a creator first and then a business person and i think that's really cool too because i

00:05:07.200 think a lot of people forget that that's the essence and the foundation of a great business

00:05:12.180 that's that's very true yeah i mean you think that is accurate yeah it's pretty accurate

00:05:16.540 yeah yeah you know i was a creative person in the very very beginning i always wanted to dip my

00:05:20.220 hands in everything i did and just i was like like a like a baby you know yeah curious about

00:05:25.000 everything and if i couldn't figure out how how it worked or whatnot i would just go and try to figure

00:05:30.560 out myself and ask questions and do this you know and i think that's the spark of like something uh

00:05:36.280 great as far as like business wise later down the road you know yeah for sure for sure a lot of

00:05:40.740 people are money focused right they're business focused and they're folk i don't get that vibe from

00:05:44.600 you like i interview and talk to a lot of entrepreneurs and a lot of them are really

00:05:47.480 like they're they're very money focused um and i'm not saying you're not i just don't i get that 0.80

00:05:54.440 that that's like the second thing for you the first thing is to create really cool shit and i think 0.92

00:05:58.340 that's fucking cool because you don't meet a lot of people like that in business um 0.97

00:06:01.580 how let's let's get how did you grow up man like we're like tell us a little bit about how you 0.97

00:06:07.240 grew up and where you're from and kind of give us a background uh-huh i was born on the east side of

00:06:12.000 long beach um born and raised there my whole life and you know single parent um my parents

00:06:18.520 divorced when i was three years old raised by my my mom on housing low income you know food stamps

00:06:24.040 that whole that whole deal so you know growing up i didn't really have much it was just me and my

00:06:28.720 uh my brother um i remember just you know growing up my mom would just go to work and i was you know

00:06:34.600 during like summer days just stay home with my brother you know as we got a little older you know

00:06:38.400 pick up a skateboard you know whatever we could find um that was one thing too i give it up for 0.95

00:06:43.020 my mom she'd always buy me whatever i want you know no matter how much fucking money we didn't 1.00

00:06:46.660 have right you know i didn't realize that shit then right right but it was it was that you know 0.98

00:06:50.260 that type of uh mother that supported you know her son that's just kind of give me whatever the 1.00

00:06:55.440 fuck i wanted shoes and whatnot you know i realize it now like fuck you maybe i shouldn't have asked but 0.99

00:06:59.960 yeah that was a type of uh uh lifestyle um i went through growing up skateboarding on the streets and 0.99

00:07:06.080 on the east side of long beach was like a melting pot you know at that point so um you know i was

00:07:12.200 growing up with a lot of other kids in poverty a lot of gang activity going on at that time which is 0.96

00:07:17.520 still going on right now right um but you know like the shit people see on tv yeah like like a 0.99

00:07:23.200 fucking southern california gang shit yeah it's funny because we we were uh that was that movie that 0.99

00:07:27.940 just came out straight out of compton yeah like that shit is the stuff i've seen like for real you 1.00

00:07:32.240 know people like our buddy from australia reese he's like hey is that shit like like how it is i'm 0.99

00:07:36.780 like yeah that's exactly how it fucking is you know so i mean like i grew up seeing that stuff and that 0.95

00:07:42.500 was the normal for me you know i didn't know anything else yeah you know luckily in long beach there are 0.62

00:07:46.980 patches of uh different areas where it's nice so i got to experience a lot of different um other

00:07:52.660 communities around you know in long beach as well so you know growing up i was just exposed to a lot

00:07:57.720 of things but you know growing up i literally didn't have much my mom was making what like

00:08:01.580 six seven bucks an hour cash at that you know so it was it was it was pretty rough yeah yeah so so

00:08:08.700 and that's super interesting because a lot of people who grow up in a in a poverty situation they

00:08:17.000 don't have many examples of success so growing up did you i'm just curious because it's gonna lead 0.91

00:08:22.240 into another question but did you have any people that you like saw and you're like damn dude i 0.69

00:08:25.920 i like to be like that guy or i look up to that guy or like where did your where did your idea that

00:08:31.520 you wanted to be successful come from because a lot of people can't break out of that that lower

00:08:35.520 income bracket because they never see it they never observe it you know yeah that mindset didn't come

00:08:39.660 till later like when i was growing up maybe like a teenager or early teens i didn't uh i wasn't like

00:08:45.740 money hungry or business oriented i would just like i said earlier i wanted to be creative you seem

00:08:50.540 like an artist yeah so yeah yeah anything i whatever i did like i was in a band prior to

00:08:55.900 yeah i was like a hardcore band um where'd you play i played drums oh cool yeah so in high school you

00:09:00.680 know i played uh in a hardcore band and we made like merchandise and then you know obviously to get

00:09:05.520 merchandise you have to go fucking do it yourself and i learned how to start making t-shirts that way 0.96

00:09:09.560 and that was like my first experience how old were you when you started with that like 14 years old 0.98

00:09:13.060 that's 14 15 yeah so um everything i did just you know found out my own way and you know just did it

00:09:19.740 myself so yeah so so you the the apparel business goes all the way back to 14 years old yeah way way

00:09:28.080 back so this is something that you just like okay hey i got this idea i'm gonna go ahead and make a

00:09:31.900 fucking shirt right i'm gonna sell it to my classmates exactly and then people think now remember the first 0.91

00:09:36.800 shirt you made dude yeah i have it framed up uh no way yeah what is it it was like old uh ruckus shirt 0.98

00:09:42.200 one of my first clothing lines with like this girl with tattoos all over her face yeah yeah dude you got 1.00

00:09:46.160 to send me a picture of that i'd like to see that it's in my office that's fucking badass yeah so 0.82

00:09:49.820 uh randall picasso said good artists borrow great artists steal so who are who are some of the people

00:09:55.560 you've stolen from and kind of synthesized to become your own brand like who are your influences

00:10:00.140 probably just graffiti artists yeah you know one of the dudes i or brands i still uh look up today and

00:10:05.600 that i rock a lot is uh rebel eight and before um well it was josh and uh mike giant mike giant's a

00:10:12.840 graffiti artist and tattoo artist and he's like put um the chicano style and uh that type of artwork

00:10:20.040 on the map at least for like the the california west coast style you know so mike giant's probably

00:10:25.880 one of the ones that i've looked up to prior and then just local tattoo artists at that you know

00:10:30.680 just friends and stuff because you know we didn't have like um people to to look up to like to search

00:10:38.020 up on the internet and stuff we literally just drew our own shit that we liked and then that if it was 0.66

00:10:43.000 tight then we would use it you know on a shirt and whatnot you know yeah so dude you ever looked at

00:10:46.580 og able stuff no oh dude you didn't check his stuff okay it's cool okay that's awesome so what so in

00:10:52.360 terms of you said you were in that particular environment so you're pulling off of the graffiti

00:10:56.480 what about like is there anything about the landscape of long beach or like that physical

00:11:00.540 environment that you feel like you've incorporated into your designs

00:11:02.900 no not really yeah because that that all that stuff is really really harsh yeah you know um 0.98

00:11:08.360 long beach is harsh yeah i'd say i mean depending on what parts you're thinking it's like a fucking 0.96

00:11:14.740 mexico well i'm talking i guess no you're right i'm i guess i'm no i i get it i want to have a 0.90

00:11:19.800 pina colada out of long beach i guess i think of i think of california i think it's all beautiful

00:11:24.300 but yeah no there's some very nice parts in long beach yeah yeah definitely but in the east side where i

00:11:28.320 grew up yeah it's still kind of a little rough yeah so so you started making shirts that

00:11:32.800 high school how did that progress like what was the next step after that well i've first i gained

00:11:38.560 that experience um i took one graphic design course in high school too to learn how to like burn the

00:11:44.360 screen make the uh put the emotion on the the right frame itself and then from the start process to

00:11:50.380 finish process um started uh making shirts for my band and then i started a clothing line this wasn't 0.98

00:11:57.780 solely to make money it was just fuck yeah me and my homies just want to make some fucking clothes 0.93

00:12:01.560 right so i made a skateboard brand and just uh called ruckus yeah r-u-k-k-u-s and uh just started 0.98

00:12:07.920 slinging shirts at school and you know did it that way and then that just gave me more um experience in

00:12:14.080 reordering shirts you know yeah yeah were you even in the cut and sew at this point no no this is just

00:12:20.880 like buying blanks and silk screening you know so that like that's still our bread and butter today

00:12:24.580 and that's what i still do today too as a graphic designer is still graphic design separate uh colors and

00:12:29.940 burn the screens and do silk screening so a lot yeah so you were so you're learning the okay so 0.97

00:12:35.440 you have this idea you you know that you're creative and you're coming up with cool shit 0.68

00:12:40.820 and what i thought is cool is by what you just said about ruckus is that a lot of people start brands 0.83

00:12:46.020 because they want to make money you're starting a brand because it represents a culture and what's

00:12:50.920 cool about that is that that is what sustains a brand on the on a big scale nowadays so you've already

00:12:57.960 had experience in that and i think you're doing that really well with live fit as well but you're 0.88

00:13:02.460 so you're selling shit then all of a sudden you learn okay well i've got a i've got to run a 0.83

00:13:06.180 business too i'm not really a business guy so you have to learn to be a business guy how is that was 0.99

00:13:11.500 that i mean did it come pretty natural or was it something that you struggled with yeah i mean i had

00:13:16.140 struggles here in there but it came pretty natural because i i mean i think i pick up things pretty

00:13:19.920 quick yeah but along the whole way it's kind of i knew i was learning all these things

00:13:24.440 subconsciously like right business wise and whatnot you know whether it be taxes or just

00:13:28.880 fucking wholesale to retail to all this kind of different business lingos and stuff i was just 0.74

00:13:34.100 literally learning it on on the way just trying to get the finished product to make myself happy 0.98

00:13:38.020 my homies happy yeah dude what's funny about that too though is like that's literally how everybody

00:13:42.860 does that's how i did it that's how every single person i've ever talked to does it but i also feel

00:13:47.060 like that's the main excuse as to why people don't get into the do the things they want to do

00:13:50.820 they're like i don't know about taxes i don't know about this i don't know about that i don't 0.96

00:13:54.240 know about how to reorder i don't know i don't have the contacts well get on the fucking google 0.99

00:13:57.980 machine and start learning some shit you know what i'm saying like right this you didn't wake up 0.99

00:14:03.040 one day as a successful entrepreneur you fucking learned and you learned by doing i did the same 1.00

00:14:08.040 thing it are the biggest hang-up that i have that people have especially listeners this podcast i 0.99

00:14:14.920 know because i get fucking dms about it is like oh well i got this idea and i want to do it 0.99

00:14:19.220 fucking do it right do it if you don't if you sit around and think about it and about all the shit 0.99

00:14:24.140 you don't know how if you sat around randall and thought about well man i don't know how to run a 0.99

00:14:27.900 business i don't know how to screen a shirt i don't know how to make a design i don't know how to use a 1.00

00:14:31.960 fucking computer where would you be now exactly you know what i'm saying yeah yeah you sure as fuck 0.96

00:14:36.700 wouldn't be you yeah right so what were what were some of like the first lessons early on that you 0.99

00:14:41.160 you learned like what maybe one maybe something that hit you hard you know i wouldn't even remember

00:14:46.340 there's a million things that i can you know if we could just you know go on and go on but you know

00:14:51.140 like just going back to what he was saying it's literally just trial and error and that's one of

00:14:55.700 the biggest things too like i get a lot of kids asking me or dms and stuff like hey how do you do

00:14:59.560 this how do you do that i'm like dude i don't know because people are going to take things differently

00:15:02.780 as well you know you can't experience the same shit i experienced because i'm in a different part of 0.84

00:15:05.900 area or whatever so and you also learn a different way yeah learn a different way so i just tell them 0.99

00:15:09.640 just go fucking do it you know i mean if if you're set on something just go do it if you're gonna fail 0.98

00:15:14.280 just fucking fail because you're gonna learn that and that's no one can teach you that better than 1.00

00:15:18.120 than you than a fucking college curriculum or anything you know like i've learned so much 1.00

00:15:22.440 doing shit on my myself and then so little with the the high education system we have here you know 0.99

00:15:28.640 right and it's it's hard because that's the harsh reality that people need to fucking know that 0.99

00:15:33.440 you have to do it and you have to fail to really know it like be comfortable about the business and

00:15:40.140 the industry that you're getting into you know yeah yeah so that's something andy says all the

00:15:44.000 time and i think people sometimes will very often misunderstand it is that there is no plan b stick 0.95

00:15:49.980 to your plan a make it work however you need to make it work do you have a fucking plan b if live 0.97

00:15:54.560 fit doesn't work out no i don't exactly right right but what he also you're so fucking good at what you 0.99

00:15:58.800 do exactly you know what i mean that's why your shit's good that's what dude when you don't have a 0.97

00:16:02.840 plan b you care a whole lot about what you're doing yeah you know what i mean when you have a rich 0.98

00:16:07.440 parents or you have uh money to fall back on or you have another company or you have another way

00:16:12.460 to go dude it's really easy to not care about things as much as what you would when you have

00:16:17.880 no other options right exactly that care that you have the attention to detail that creates is what

00:16:23.140 your competitive advantage comes from absolutely but people hear that and then they say then they

00:16:27.620 don't hear the other part of that which is andy always says but not having a plan b doesn't mean

00:16:33.000 that you don't adjust your plan a yeah you can't adjust that's what i was just gonna say like my 1.00

00:16:36.900 plan a i mean yeah plan b whatever the fuck but my plan a i have a that shit is fucking extravagant 0.99

00:16:42.520 you know i can go all kinds of directions my plan a my plan a is laid out yeah you see what i'm saying 0.99

00:16:47.060 yeah yeah so and dude when shit doesn't work the way you want you start to go a little bit of

00:16:51.060 different direction you say okay i i learned this i go over here you know i think the bottom line of 0.94

00:16:58.120 what we're discussing here the point is that people put too much time into preparation and

00:17:02.840 not enough time into just doing it you know no one's gonna come around i'm not coming randall's

00:17:07.420 not coming donald trump ain't coming all these successful entrepreneurs are not coming to tell

00:17:11.220 you hey it's time for you to go do it right you know what i'm saying like what's that famous mike 0.99

00:17:15.760 tyson statement everybody has a plan until they get punched in the fucking face right yeah that's it i 0.98

00:17:20.800 mean it's it's relevant right everybody has a plan to get punched you know you gotta you gotta 0.99

00:17:25.660 recoil you gotta adjust you know i don't know man uh so after you started selling shirts and

00:17:31.680 after you started living real business you opened a shop right um no that was later i became a personal

00:17:36.680 trainer because the clothing line it wasn't gaining any traction okay it failed i kind of just put it 0.98

00:17:41.340 off to the side and eventually shut it down okay and this is when i was like all right fuck it i'm 0.97

00:17:45.620 gonna go go to school um make my parents happy and and uh you know see what i can get out of this 0.81

00:17:50.540 and uh so you so you sort of you sort of like you sort of gave up on that idea yeah you're like okay

00:17:55.940 i'm gonna go and do i'm gonna go ahead and do what what the world wants me to do exactly okay yeah so

00:18:00.920 i became a personal trainer got certified and uh started working for a corporate value total fitness

00:18:05.300 at the time and was going to college at the same time right um and then lucky enough i knew uh the

00:18:12.120 t-shirt business so once my personal training business started getting traction i already knew the 0.87

00:18:16.720 process of how to make a shirt and how to design shirts right i was like hey fuck it why not i 0.69

00:18:20.760 think this is gonna look dope if my whole crew all my clients when we're doing boot camps or whether

00:18:24.900 we're training and while we're filming videos if they wear a shirt on their back that says team rp i

00:18:28.700 think that'll be a fucking cool camaraderie thing so i said i ended up doing that and this was at the 0.88

00:18:33.220 time where facebook started getting big so i started uh making shirts for my clients then started 0.90

00:18:37.720 filming it having a good fucking time and then people just around like the community uh were like man 0.97

00:18:43.560 how i want to be a part of that shit you know because it looked fucking cool at the time i was 0.98

00:18:47.080 like hey i want to have fun too while i'm working out right you know and for me when people say oh 0.99

00:18:52.400 what's your best marketing strategy i think personally whatever worked for me and this is what it is is

00:18:56.960 just the guerrilla warfare type of marketing which is word of mouth with a client that is my client

00:19:02.100 clients are going to speak very very highly of you you know so when they're out there promoting the

00:19:07.260 videos that we shot they're going to be like yeah this is the you know the most fun i've had you know

00:19:11.800 this it doesn't even feel like a workout you know we're we're losing weight we're getting i'm getting

00:19:15.260 the results i want by having fun you know and it was like a brand and culture just building and i

00:19:20.480 wasn't even focusing on large scale getting out of the state i was focusing on my training business

00:19:24.940 people that i can literally physically reach so i was doing that and it just snowballed into like this

00:19:30.240 big old like nuclear bomb just ready to explode you know yeah and then i was gaining a lot of 0.56

00:19:35.360 traction from um the the designs and stuff so i was like hey fuck it why not why not open up a 0.96

00:19:41.500 e-commerce platform and start selling shirts for people that want the shirts that can't get it

00:19:45.220 physically you know because at that time too i was getting hit up on facebook i would meet people

00:19:49.660 in parking lots selling t-shirts out of my trunk right i had a little evo 10 back then just driving

00:19:54.380 around meeting people up and slinging t-shirts all day dude now you can ask you know guys from

00:19:58.380 longby still feel like you know random the t-shirt guy yeah yeah the t-shirt dude and the trainer you

00:20:02.680 know it was cool but um the other shop that i ended up buying into the five or ten dollar t-shirt store

00:20:08.880 that was just a an opportunity one of my business partners my old business partner uh bruce soft got

00:20:14.480 me into and i was like fuck it you know i know the t-shirt game enough and then i bought into that and 0.89

00:20:19.540 then um you know ran ran that store and that was like i learned a lot at that shop too as well that 0.95

00:20:26.560 was the the store on the east side of long beach off of molino and anaheim a pretty pretty rough

00:20:30.920 neighborhood so dude yeah we got to tell the story you told me at dinner oh yeah yeah so we're sitting

00:20:36.760 at dinner last night and we're having a couple drinks and we're you know uh we're sitting there 0.86

00:20:41.000 talking about different stuff and randall starts telling me this fucking story so apparently and i 0.99

00:20:47.300 don't know this and i didn't know this because i'm fucking fat white kid from missouri to grow up 0.99

00:20:51.780 on a fucking gravel road but i guess in like in like gang culture when people die they make a t-shirt 0.98

00:20:57.420 an rip shirt all right so he tells me about this so tell the story so he's telling me he's explaining to 0.98

00:21:03.060 me and i'm like no they really fucking do that he's like yeah yeah it's crazy because like over 0.93

00:21:07.720 there we know businesses is going to pop off it's just unfortunate it works that way you know 0.92

00:21:11.420 business is going to pop off if someone passes away during a gang shooting or whatever during a murder

00:21:16.080 they're going to come in and make um in rest in loving memory of you know whoever it is you know

00:21:21.540 so it it was if this gang would retaliate and this person gets killed we're you know me and my partner

00:21:26.760 like all right hey we're about to be busy you know and it goes to the point where man i seen 0.95

00:21:30.760 some crazy shit this one story i was telling him last night was um this guy comes in and he hands 0.85

00:21:37.600 us a note and he's like hey i'm about to go on vacation you know i got the green light on me and 0.98

00:21:42.160 we're like what the fuck i didn't know that term yet so i asked bruce hey what was he talking about 0.79

00:21:45.620 green light he's like oh he knows he's gonna die so he gave this note to give to his mom the next thing 0.98

00:21:51.240 you know the next day he gets shot about seven times dies right then and there and his mom comes in 0.99

00:21:56.180 later cries and i'm like fuck dude i had this note to give to give her you know yeah so he gives her 0.99

00:22:01.700 note she's just fucking balls up crying and then it's fucking wild man and then check this out later 0.99

00:22:07.380 we see the candlelight um little ceremony thing across the street you know and the police are there 0.99

00:22:14.200 and these guys that are murderers or the the victims or whatever they knew who killed him but

00:22:19.760 they won't tell the police because the police will take him and just bring him to jail they want him

00:22:24.200 dead so they're they won't rat him out they'll rather have their gang people go over there and

00:22:28.220 cap this guy off and kill him off and i'm like dude that's just that's just how it is out here and i'm 0.99

00:22:32.680 we're me and bruce are over here like fuck we're about to make a lot more other shirts we're gonna 1.00

00:22:36.640 have a busy fucking season and it's just a fucked up situation yeah and that's just that culture there 0.99

00:22:42.040 so if that gives you any idea where he came from yeah it's fucking crazy you know yeah dude that that 0.99

00:22:47.960 story blew me the fuck away last night yeah like i was sitting there like this like just like 0.99

00:22:51.720 your fucking face is right now i was like whoa dude yeah tons of respect too for growing up in 0.98

00:22:58.280 that and that that's gotta i can't even conceive like i'm literally speechless yeah it's wild yeah 1.00

00:23:03.960 yeah i mean dude there's a lot of things that predict good business but people get fucking 0.95

00:23:08.120 blasted isn't one of them yeah it's fucking crazy yeah man there's another story too when um this guy 0.85

00:23:14.680 came in too because and this taught me a lot how to deal with different uh customers uh face-to-face 0.97

00:23:20.460 too as well you know because we dealt with regular customers then we dealt with these gangbangers 0.86

00:23:23.820 and dealt with just different types of characters you know this guy comes in um this mexican gangbanger 0.87

00:23:29.340 and he tries to buy a shirt with a fake five dollar bill and i was like hey this is fake homie and he's 0.81

00:23:33.900 like why are you trying to you don't want to take my five dollar bill because i'm mexican because i'm

00:23:36.700 a donkey i'm like nah dude this has nothing to do with this he said i'm gonna come back and 0.99

00:23:39.820 fucking kill all you guys i'm like what the fuck dude i was legitimately scared because i knew this guy was a 1.00

00:23:44.380 real gangbanger yeah so my business partner he's like all right hey you know we got the shotgun right here 1.00

00:23:48.620 he puts the fucking safety on cocks it back he's like all right if this guy comes back point and 0.99

00:23:53.420 fucking shoot you don't need to aim this thing will spread this dude that he goes so yeah so last 1.00

00:23:58.460 so i was not like being in the middle no so i was fucking bust so i was busting his balls last 0.99

00:24:03.020 night like i was just you know like how i am and i'm like yeah you're fucking scared too he goes 0.99

00:24:06.460 fuck yeah i was legitimately i was like fuck man because i man i i've been like robbed and 0.99

00:24:11.580 shit out there but this time for some reason i knew this guy was he wasn't fucking around he wasn't 0.99

00:24:15.100 fucking around i was like yeah but you know he he didn't come back i was like all right 0.99

00:24:18.300 fuck so wait you didn't you didn't give him the shirt no no no no i didn't give him the shirt he 0.99

00:24:22.220 was he left pissed i was like i don't care that's a real businessman right there i was like this is 0.99

00:24:26.860 my business this is what i have to do to protect the business you know i can't just let these these 0.99

00:24:30.380 thugs and shit you know otherwise you have 50 more in the next day yeah exactly you know like i 0.99

00:24:34.620 mean i you know it taught me a lot of shit oh so dude so you guys are running a pretty big 1.00

00:24:41.580 operation now i mean you're you're in a 33 000 square foot building you're fucking have beautiful 0.98

00:24:46.460 offices uh you got a great business you got a great crew i don't know how many employees you

00:24:50.380 have but it looks like a lot how many you have about 29 now yeah 29 employees okay so how did you go from 0.98

00:24:56.860 randall the fucking dude who's handing gangbangers fucking fake five dollar bills 0.99

00:25:04.060 and and pissing your pants when dudes come in to randall 1.00

00:25:07.180 fucking live fit randall like dude you're you're a you've become a cultural icon on instagram 0.98

00:25:15.100 especially in terms of what young entrepreneurship is about and like um bridge that gap man like how 0.97

00:25:23.020 did you do that yeah so i mean yeah i did come from a rough area and um you know a poverty stricken

00:25:29.660 area but like i just knew growing up when i became a personal trainer i had to carry myself a certain

00:25:36.060 way you know i was never always like hard-headed and things like that i've always had manners

00:25:40.860 because a lot of my clients were professionals you know there were doctors lawyers surgeons things

00:25:45.340 like that so i already i always knew how to communicate you know so um during the time when

00:25:50.780 i was training it was really taking off i told my business partner uh bruce at the time like hey

00:25:55.100 you know i think this lift fit brand is really taking off i i was going to school had um a personal

00:26:01.020 training business had lift fit apparel at the time there was a lot going on and i knew this was

00:26:04.620 was picking up so i eventually he bought me out and then i pursued uh lift apparel 100 but just

00:26:12.460 learning from um my clients learning just how to carry myself and just you know getting my hands into

00:26:20.940 creativity and researching everything myself when growing a business and scaling and scaling it with

00:26:26.380 hiring the next employee to the next to the next it was literally then again trial and error you know so

00:26:32.060 i mean i guess yeah i guess trial and error yeah yeah but yeah so i mean i mean dude there's a million

00:26:39.340 things that happen between right yeah so like when you let's go to your employees let's take it on

00:26:46.380 employees like hiring your first employee okay what was that like for you um it was um it was like that

00:26:54.140 that sticky period where it was like okay a couple friends will help you out here and there and then my

00:26:57.900 first first employee i would say um i think it was chu lin yeah she's still like a very supportive

00:27:05.020 person now um but hiring her on it was like i didn't have a lot of money at the time so but we were 0.91

00:27:13.020 just both fucking you know up for the the mission and the goal to just make fucking dope clothes and 0.98

00:27:18.780 yeah knew this thing was going to take off so um hiring her on i think i don't even know if i was paying 1.00

00:27:24.380 her on payroll yet you know it was so far back yeah but it just led to the next to the next to the

00:27:29.500 next you know um yeah i was literally just finding luckily enough i had a couple friends that um

00:27:36.940 graduated with business degrees i mean they probably didn't use anything they learned there anyways but

00:27:42.060 they just knew how to get things done you know task doers you know those things just people that know

00:27:46.620 how to create jobs out of nothing you know right um i hired on two of my friends which are lucky enough

00:27:51.580 still with me today but then i hired on a couple other friends that aren't with the company now

00:27:55.900 you know yeah yep but yeah i mean it was just literally um a learning curve a huge learning curve

00:28:02.620 that i think i think i mastered today but i probably oh dude i mean you're you're yeah you're past that

00:28:09.420 like you're past that awkward stage of like trying to figure it out right right so um go ahead what what

00:28:15.020 what i was picking up on was you were talking the last couple minutes is just you're talking about

00:28:18.940 learning things from your from your um clients and picking up certain things from that and and as

00:28:23.980 you've been talking i've just been thinking like your whole approach is you're a sponge like you're

00:28:28.780 just you're just actively taking in things you're learning things you're adding your and talk a little

00:28:33.100 bit about that because this is something we talk about on the podcast all the time is you gotta always

00:28:37.580 be committed to self-development and learning but let me say something about this because i i just from

00:28:41.820 what i observe about randall you're a very confident dude like and and like dude i think anybody that

00:28:46.940 follows you can see that i mean you put off massive confidence almost to the cockiness you 0.98

00:28:52.620 know i'm saying like you know you're a bad motherfucker and i like that i respect that 0.99

00:28:55.660 because i know i am too but what is also great about randall is that he's very humble and he knows 0.99

00:29:01.740 about what he knows about but he also knows what he doesn't know and you're willing to you know and

00:29:06.220 we talk about that about how humility kills so many dreams because people think that you have to be 0.97

00:29:12.460 overly humble and you can't believe in yourself and dude you have to fucking believe in yourself 0.89

00:29:16.780 especially if you want to build a culture and a following like you have and like i have you have 0.96

00:29:21.180 to fucking be the guy you have to be confident you have to show people it's okay to have a style and a

00:29:27.340 brand and a vibe about you which you do very well right um but you also have to balance that out with 0.99

00:29:32.940 humility so that you can fucking learn new shit and and i think you're a very good embodiment of what i talk 0.97

00:29:38.220 about a lot on the podcast about being confident to the level of cocky and then also being humble 0.99

00:29:45.740 on the back side so you can pick up new shit you feel what i'm saying yeah and just back to what 0.77

00:29:50.140 you're saying like the clients that i had i had um engineers that worked for raytheon i had surgeons 0.61

00:29:54.780 i had doctors and lawyers so when i was speaking to them i was aware that i'm a lot younger maybe

00:30:00.060 education wise didn't um that i or whatever in my personal training field they look up to me because

00:30:04.940 i know that field but i knew that they were older and that they were more wiser not necessarily more 0.90

00:30:09.740 smarter but wiser that they can teach me a lot of shit so when they talk to me you know when you're 0.91

00:30:13.340 personal training somebody you you get intimate you know so you know your relationship is pretty close 0.99

00:30:17.740 yeah so they tell me a lot of experiences that they've been through in life you know that i know

00:30:21.980 it's real so i always take that in i'm always aware of that at because i i was 19 20 21 at the time

00:30:28.060 you know i'm no i know i haven't i haven't experienced as much as these guys did you know so i was very very

00:30:33.820 aware of that and i try to teach everyone now today especially these young ones soak that in

00:30:39.660 whoever you're around if they're older they might not be smarter but they have been through a lot more

00:30:43.740 shit than you and you can learn from that everybody exactly yeah dude dude i say this i said this to my 0.82

00:30:49.020 team the other night dude i know every every single guy in my company there's something that they are 0.99

00:30:55.340 better at than i am and and you know i know what i know but i also know that there's a lot of 0.93

00:31:00.780 shit out there and i give people a lot of credit because i know if you're a homeless dude walking 0.95

00:31:04.780 down the street there's something that dude knows that i don't know and and even if it's what not to 0.98

00:31:10.220 do exactly you know what i mean i love that distinction you made between being being smarter

00:31:15.100 and being wiser like you might have more more like actual iq intelligence than somebody but it doesn't

00:31:19.980 mean that their experience their life experience knowledge is way higher exactly yeah i love dude i

00:31:25.340 don't think that's something that's ever been said on this podcast yeah ever that's a great out of three

00:31:29.020 years that's a that's a pretty pretty profound yeah way to look at things i like that a lot

00:31:33.980 yeah that's awesome dude did uh so when you started live fit how did you how did you start

00:31:42.540 marketing the brand because you're killing on instagram right now was it was it mainly instagram

00:31:46.460 or is it still mainly instagram or how did it go it's it's instagram and it still mainly is instagram

00:31:51.500 um but when we first started like i said was my personal training business but um i come from the

00:31:55.820 design background right so everything i did and put out on instagram was super aesthetic you know

00:32:01.180 but when i started out i shot my own videos shot my own photos and everything did all my own editing

00:32:05.740 content all that stuff and it was your page is sick dude like your personal page like thanks i 0.71

00:32:10.620 even tell i told tyler because like like we were joking around down at my office like i

00:32:14.700 fucking don't know how to take right a cool picture like dude i always look at randall's page 0.95

00:32:18.620 and i'm like dude he always takes cool fucking pictures like i need to learn how to i need to 0.99

00:32:22.220 fucking have randall teach me how to take some cool pictures i was telling him that uh just the 0.98

00:32:26.300 other day because i always feel like dumb you know but dude you do it right i mean everything you do 0.97

00:32:31.100 in your in your whole personally and in your brand is very cool looking like i like it a lot yeah i

00:32:37.020 think i've that's just something i've noticed along the way too i'm always knit and picky about 0.98

00:32:41.900 everything just you know i don't know if it's a sign of i'm being conceited or fucking cocky i don't 0.89

00:32:47.260 know but for me if i've like if things are aesthetic i feel like i can function a lot better 0.92

00:32:52.620 if i feel good and look good i think i can perform a lot better you know absolutely yeah you know so

00:32:57.340 everything i do is just very clean and just has i don't know if it's fucking ocd so let me ask you 0.98

00:33:02.300 this so this is something that people struggle with a lot right um younger entrepreneurs when they're

00:33:07.420 creating a product or creating a brand a lot of them will try they will try to take what everybody

00:33:13.340 else is considering cool and make it make that product and i know that you don't do that no you

00:33:19.420 do you make what you think is cool right so explain that process a little bit yeah that's been my

00:33:24.460 philosophy since i've ever started anything all the design working stuff everything i see and create is

00:33:30.220 what i wear that you know if i don't if i'm not going to wear that why make it you know because this

00:33:35.020 has to be true and you have to believe in your product and i'm not going to believe in it if i don't 0.63

00:33:39.100 fucking wear it that's right you know so if even if it's but you but you also know because do you 0.83

00:33:45.100 also know that that there's a million other people you people who go out and try to fucking make 0.99

00:33:50.780 something for quote unquote the people fuck up their brands people who go out and make something 0.74

00:33:56.220 that they truly feel is badass they know and i i bet you know this if i'm if i'm wrong say so but

00:34:02.540 you know that there's a million other people that think that have your style that are like

00:34:07.100 like fuck yeah this is cool yep you're right that's that's absolutely correct yeah that's the 0.98

00:34:10.860 market you know and that's how you find your market you guys just stick to what you believe 1.00

00:34:14.620 because if you were trying to do what everybody else thought was cool your brand would be fucking 0.93

00:34:17.220 watered down yeah it would be shitty yeah exactly you know and i think dude i think that's something 0.96

00:34:21.500 you know i mean there is there is a million fucking t-shirt entrepreneurs right right like i want to 0.89

00:34:29.180 start out as a t-shirt guy i i'm not knocking that i'm just saying there's a trillion of them 0.90

00:34:33.820 the biggest thing i see that separates the guys who are trying to start a clothing company or t-shirt

00:34:39.820 brand or a brand who are going to build a cool brand and who aren't 99 of them are doing shit that 0.56

00:34:45.980 they think everybody else think is going to think is cool like and and only one percent is doing what

00:34:50.980 they think is cool like their style you know you have to realize guys that there's other people just

00:34:56.040 like you and when you aren't when you haven't discovered yourself and you aren't true to yourself

00:35:00.300 and you're doing things for other people and you're creating products for quote unquote the masses

00:35:04.760 you're creating something that's average at best you're not creating something that's ever going

00:35:08.820 to get traction and i i think that's a huge mistake that young people make because it's counterintuitive

00:35:13.240 to how we how we think right dude i'm going to make something and everybody's going to love it and i'm

00:35:18.160 going to make millions of dollars that's the wrong fucking idea it's impossible yeah it is impossible

00:35:22.260 you're taking you cannot take something and make it for everybody it's it's not something that's 0.84

00:35:27.640 possible the guys who succeed they're guys like you they're guys who are creators and they're guys 0.85

00:35:32.880 who who are are into like they understand themselves or self-aware and they create shit that goes along 0.53

00:35:39.580 with their style or what they believe in and what they like and then other people that are like them

00:35:45.460 connect with them and then you build a culture and now your brand has power exactly you know it's not

00:35:50.660 just live fit it's not just a fucking t-shirt it's not just a jersey it's not just a pair of shorts 0.97

00:35:56.240 it's something that people wear and they feel something behind the logo right it's a lot like 0.92

00:36:02.400 first form right right so like i would say really like our two brands do that better than anybody else

00:36:07.480 out there right i mean and if you think you do it better than me fucking show me but i i i think i'm 0.94

00:36:12.500 telling the truth yeah i think we create labels that people fucking wear because they're proud to wear 0.91

00:36:17.180 not because just because the clothes are cool but because it means something to them you know and 0.85

00:36:23.780 that's what you what you're missing when you try to create a product that is for everybody you're 0.52

00:36:28.540 never going to be able to build our first shirt that we ever made was so fucking shitty but everybody 0.97

00:36:32.640 wore it everybody fucking wore exactly it's the affiliation the emotion that's tied to that brand 0.95

00:36:36.540 yeah you know right that's and dude i think i think you're doing like from outside from somebody 0.89

00:36:41.780 who understands how to do that i think you're doing fucking awesome at that i love it so let me get is it 0.68

00:36:47.240 can i redirect the conversations for a second okay so i'm going to get a little intellectual on you okay but the

00:36:53.640 the word passion right the root word is pasca which means suffering okay so how much has adversity

00:37:01.740 created more of an artistic ability in you how much did growing up in in a rough environment and

00:37:09.760 and the different things that you struggled with how much of that has contributed to your success right

00:37:13.860 now a lot i'd say almost a lot of it a huge part you know it may be obviously humble and it just made

00:37:21.020 me really aware of everything you know and that uh i'm you know pretty unfortunate you know and

00:37:26.780 i don't know it's it's definitely shaped me because you know there's still guys that i i keep in touch

00:37:32.960 with back home and they you know they always keep me on check and stuff and it's just like you just 0.88

00:37:36.820 never forget where you come from so you always look back and like fuck dude you know you when you 0.98

00:37:41.140 look back you're like fuck all right i'm i'm fortunate you know i gotta i'm gonna keep going 0.99

00:37:44.220 because there's people are still rooting for me you know back back home dude there's tons of people 0.98

00:37:48.600 rooting for you dude a lot of the people listen to this podcast are first form people they're first

00:37:52.860 form legionnaires uh they're in business with us with me personally um dude i see them wearing your 0.99

00:37:58.580 shit all the time there's a lot of crossover and i know that dude you're people recognize real shit 0.97

00:38:04.820 right like like another guy who i like who's a great friend of mine who's done a good job of 0.98

00:38:09.260 building a culture behind his brand is rob bailey dan lin bailey with flagner fail um great friend of 0.99

00:38:14.500 mine dude one of my best friends uh and dude our our people are always either wearing your shit or 0.99

00:38:20.480 his shit and that's what they wear i still yeah i was literally i was actually just talking to rob 0.99

00:38:24.660 the other day he was just showing this like black friday logistic stuff yeah just like oh you guys 1.00

00:38:28.280 yeah yeah cool he's a good dude he's cool as fuck yeah those guys are cool yeah yeah dude you know 0.87

00:38:32.600 he just fucking picked up his whole headquarters and moved it to montana yeah i know i was like what 0.99

00:38:35.800 the fuck that's crazy i'm jealous i'm like bro that's fucking balls like i don't know he's a good 0.99

00:38:41.100 dude man great good dude great friend to me i like him a lot uh and he does a good job at what 1.00

00:38:45.540 we're talking about yeah he's killing it too so i don't think most people think about this when it

00:38:49.300 comes to entrepreneurs but every entrepreneur really is a creator is a creative type right

00:38:54.440 because you're creating you're building something so i would love to know i want to say i want to say

00:38:58.560 this every if all successful entrepreneurs are creatives they don't start out that way i was not an

00:39:05.460 artist i was not a fucking creator i was a guy who wanted to be rich okay that's why i didn't make 0.98

00:39:11.020 any money the first 10 fucking years because i fucking tried to sell shit and just not i wasn't 0.98

00:39:15.420 creating something that either may solve the problem people like how does lift it solve a 0.98

00:39:20.120 problem well lift it makes people feel fucking more confident it makes people feel cool it makes 0.90

00:39:23.560 people feel that's a problem okay clothes do that you know uh when i was trying to create uh i was

00:39:32.440 trying to create money and so i had to learn to be creator i had to learn that i had to solve a

00:39:37.520 problem i had to learn that i i had to provide benefit to people and that took me a long time to

00:39:43.000 figure out yeah and so not everybody starts off as a creator am i creator now fuck yeah i am but i was 0.86

00:39:48.200 the opposite of him he started out as that way and then became a business guy that's what i was trying

00:39:53.240 to say when i opened the podcast a lot of people start at different places and i think all successful

00:39:57.620 entrepreneurs either start out as a business guy or they start out as a because like i was a guy who 0.84

00:40:02.600 was selling fucking baseball cards and selling snow cones and selling light bulbs door to door and 0.94

00:40:07.340 doing all this shit detailing cars so that i could make money and i wasn't so i was a business guy first 0.99

00:40:13.500 and then i learned to create and where randall was a creator and then he learned the business and both 0.92

00:40:18.660 work both end up at the same place it's just interesting the process people go through to get

00:40:22.580 there the more you develop you become more of a hybrid between the two yeah well you i think you

00:40:26.200 become complete i bet if we sat down we're equally as creative on on in our little areas you know

00:40:31.260 what i mean i bet we're equal in business too yeah you know it's hard as far as business acumen

00:40:34.940 marketing we we do a lot of the same things you know what i mean yeah uh so we would sit down and

00:40:40.200 we would we would we would and i know this because we sat down and talked but like we would we would

00:40:44.860 be the whole right right you get what i'm saying yeah yeah yeah totally so now i'm not i wouldn't say

00:40:50.420 i'm one or the other i'm both and i would say that about you too yeah yeah so you end up at the

00:40:54.940 same place but it's just a different process to get there right so what aspects of your creative

00:41:00.480 process do you think could be universally applied to business hmm being able to adapt to scenarios

00:41:08.060 any situation i think that's a lot of what a lot of young entrepreneurs don't get is just the the

00:41:15.340 social part i'm you know kind of learn that you know how to deal with different people personalities

00:41:21.780 personalities emotions characters you know and especially when you have employees especially

00:41:25.780 when you have employees no it sounds cheesy but it it goes a long way when you learn how to

00:41:29.760 communicate with other humans you know because you never know how they're going to react you know

00:41:34.120 so you have to think as an owner or as a as a business person that you have xyz of how these

00:41:39.660 reactions are going to be and how are you going to react xyz to that you know like like that too

00:41:43.880 because you grew up in a really rough area yeah so you know how to how to communicate with guys like 0.96

00:41:48.760 that yeah and you know how to communicate with guys who are fucking multi multi multi millionaires 0.85

00:41:53.380 you know and i grew up in a blue collar environment i didn't grow up in a in a gang area but i mean 0.89

00:41:59.700 dude i grew up around construction workers and blue collar guys electricians and warehouse type

00:42:04.700 guys you know i'm saying like so i know and really honestly like i'm more like that than i am like the

00:42:09.020 other way but i know how to communicate and hang out with those guys working class people and i know

00:42:13.180 how to communicate and hang out with the top of the top you know what i mean and that's a huge

00:42:17.660 advantage that you have because of where you came from is that something you just picked up

00:42:21.780 along the way or did you actually like i know a huge you know bestseller in the success industry

00:42:26.500 is is how to win friends and uh and no how what is it how to win friends and influence people by

00:42:32.560 dale carnegie but there's you know there's all these books written about how to improve your

00:42:37.360 social skills i mean dude were any of those resources helpful to you or did you ever read

00:42:41.540 books i can be honest with you guys people ask me what's your favorite book i have books that have

00:42:45.540 little quotes and little excerpts in there and i take a little bit from those but i honestly don't even

00:42:49.720 do you do any personal development like uh listen to regular podcasts or or how do you do you do any

00:42:55.660 of that dude honestly mine is just visual yeah or visual yeah yeah i just go up and just look at 0.94

00:43:01.380 motivational pictures and shit as cheesy sounds yeah i'm just like fuck man that looks dope this car 0.89

00:43:06.520 looks sick that house looks nice yeah your car guy too dude yeah so you're a visualizer i mean yeah by 0.99

00:43:11.380 far yeah for sure yeah see i'm not very smart so like i have to like i have to put a lot of shit in my 0.98

00:43:17.440 brain like i was never a really smart person like i was a fucking i was you know i guess i was smart 0.97

00:43:24.560 i just wasn't i was i don't know maybe i wasn't i don't i don't fucking know what i was but i read 0.86

00:43:28.340 i've always read it's helped me a lot right but i've never been the guy who's been able to like

00:43:32.240 just figure things out you know what i'm saying like i i've had to like go learn it and like sit

00:43:39.100 down and read a book and that it's helped me a lot yeah um you know that's one area where obviously

00:43:44.120 we're different um but even that looking at things that is why do that too yeah that's a 0.97

00:43:49.540 process of actively seeking to educate yourself so dude yeah so you're motivated by material shit 0.97

00:43:55.120 material shit yeah 100 yeah yeah for sure yeah where do you think that comes from like dude what 0.97

00:43:59.680 do you think about people who are like dude i'm not motivated by material shit like i just you know 0.99

00:44:04.280 i don't really care about money then they can go fucking live on the streets because this is how 0.98

00:44:08.200 our government works if they if it's not a democracy if we don't have the freedom to fucking get 0.99

00:44:12.520 shit and own business to make better for ourself then you know this will be it go do whatever 0.99

00:44:17.020 yeah might as well live in a communist country where everyone's the fucking same right i fucking 1.00

00:44:21.040 hate it when people say that shit well all you're into is fucking cars this and that all right and 1.00

00:44:24.140 we'll go fucking work at mcdonald's right yeah hey you know what we'll fuck go drive our cars 1.00

00:44:28.840 together bro because i'm like you you know but it's it's it's that's just like treats for ourselves 0.99

00:44:33.620 yeah for the hard work that we fucking you know worked for and for plus dude it goes into what you 0.88

00:44:38.120 said like like people don't understand this because they've never experienced it but what 0.99

00:44:42.840 you said about like looking good and feeling good and feeling clean fresh and like all that shit your 0.95

00:44:47.480 car plays into that yeah like there ain't nothing better than rolling up on somebody or to a meeting 0.99

00:44:51.820 or to a business dinner or wherever knowing that you got the coolest shit there and it makes an impact 0.67

00:44:56.540 it helps your business yeah for sure by the way you are a car guy tell us about what you got in the 0.85

00:45:01.460 garage right now oh right now i have the an r8 a 2012 r8 i have a 2015 huracan lamborghini huracan

00:45:09.680 uh range rover and an a7 2017 a7 and but i and i just sold my gtr yeah a lot of my a lot of my fans

00:45:18.260 and stuff are disappointed dude i was sad too do you get yeah so dude you're like uh like when i have to

00:45:24.360 sell like i don't have to sell a car but when i do sell the car i literally get upset like i'm like 0.80

00:45:29.140 fuck dude oh yeah dude we were out there just like taking pictures of it going on the the truck 0.98

00:45:33.880 and we're like oh shit so i got a i got a gt2 rs coming the new gt2 rs and i traded in my gt3 rs 0.99

00:45:39.980 which is the first time i've told anybody and i love that car and everybody loves that car it was 0.98

00:45:44.520 a one-of-one color and all that you know all the good shit and uh dude when that car went away man 0.85

00:45:50.320 i was like fucking sad yeah you start thinking about all the times it's such a good car dude it's such a 0.95

00:45:55.340 good car but i but a gt2 rs man yeah yeah i'll be happy when that comes yeah it's funny because 0.95

00:46:01.780 i've always been a car guy too everyone's like oh now that you have money you get there's like no

00:46:04.540 before i was like i'm souping up honda civics you know prior to me too evo 10s when i was in 0.91

00:46:09.340 fucking high school i had a 93 jeep wrangler i used to go to auto zone and get shit to pimp it out 0.97

00:46:13.540 yeah like i go to get the fucking yes you know what i'm saying like like blackouts for real 0.99

00:46:17.500 no dude it's all i knew how to do so i did it i thought it was cool yeah yeah i think all car guys 0.94

00:46:22.940 yeah once you're a car guy so what's next on the list man like what's next i don't know i'm

00:46:27.320 probably just gonna soup up the uh hurricane and see how that goes yeah yeah right now that's the

00:46:32.040 baby you need a classic bro i know i know you need you need some sort of like late 60s early 70s 0.85

00:46:38.240 muscle or a fucking low and long fucking ride it suits you yeah i gotta build my garage first and 0.97

00:46:43.780 suck it up yeah but see that plays into another issue of branding that you talk about all the time 0.98

00:46:48.200 which is you guys authentically love cars yes you're not you're not like oh i need to look 0.99

00:46:54.200 like a baller so i'm gonna buy a car no we were just down in my garage and we were fucking looking 0.91

00:46:58.220 at the cars i guarantee you we could have sat down there all day all day and just talked about the 0.89

00:47:02.020 cars yeah yeah yeah but i mean that's important right because i mean the kid who just says oh i i

00:47:07.020 want to be successful so i want people to think that i'm successful by just grabbing these things and

00:47:11.940 making my you know it's just so authentic and i think people can well do sense that but vaughn the

00:47:15.900 problem with that is this the problem society looks down upon people who say they want money 0.96

00:47:20.640 like they like if i say hey i want to be fucking rich and i want to make a lot of fucking money 0.94

00:47:24.880 most like if i said that in public most people will give me like a dirty look and be like dude 0.95

00:47:29.400 there's something wrong with you and so for that reason what happens is people who truly want that 0.98

00:47:34.120 and they want to make money and they want to be successful what they do is they say shit like this 0.95

00:47:38.900 well i you know i i want to i want to open a business i want to be successful but i don't 0.97

00:47:45.340 really care about the money and the problem with that is this and they say that to appease all their 0.56

00:47:49.200 friends and their family and shit like that and then the problem with that is this is that there is

00:47:53.600 quantum physical and metaphysical aspects to the universe like the law of attraction god whatever you 0.66

00:47:59.220 want to call it that produce the result of the intent that you put out there and when you say oh well i

00:48:07.500 don't know if i really want money but i want to have successful business so i can help people 0.91

00:48:11.260 guess what's going to happen you're not going to have any fucking money and you're not going to help 0.99

00:48:14.540 any people so if you want money don't have any fucking shame in saying so because i want a fucking 0.99

00:48:19.760 lot of it and i know rando does too yeah no for sure yeah it's awesome dude so what's next for you

00:48:25.940 are you are you going to expand like use your creative you know your designs you're going to expand

00:48:30.360 into other products or what yeah right now i mean we're we're um we make a full line of accessories

00:48:35.880 right now we're um actually in the first development of our first shoe oh that's a

00:48:40.600 super top secret i guess is the first time i'm making an announcement bro that's awesome i want

00:48:44.500 i want all right yeah yeah so i want i want a pair i want you to sign them i want to put in my office

00:48:48.280 okay gary v just sent me a pair his uh yeah that's right sneakers signed so i thought it was pretty

00:48:52.940 cool so i just put in my he's like dude flip them on ebay i'm like no dude you're my boy i'm gonna put 0.94

00:48:57.180 him in my fucking office i like to keep cool shit for my friends you know right yeah so keep me down 0.99

00:49:01.820 for one of those yeah no for sure so we're going doing that and then um obviously this is like the 0.99

00:49:06.360 five-year mark for lift apparel so you know the business dude we've been through a lot congratulations

00:49:11.000 that is awesome thanks so now we're just scaling for the next uh few years and then obviously i have

00:49:15.620 my other like personal brands my other streetwear brands top threads and empire timepieces and stuff

00:49:21.140 you know that's awesome you know what you should do we should go into business you should make a

00:49:24.620 impaler sweater vest there's a big market in former former pastors for sweater vests

00:49:33.500 oh yeah yeah oh yeah you can make a killing off that randall doesn't even know what to think of

00:49:37.840 you right now i know i can tell dude so talk about your other brands like uh a lot of people are

00:49:44.740 familiar with lift it but they're not familiar with your other companies yeah so i have this other

00:49:48.420 streetwear brand uh top threads and that's strictly just um more of my other side that i grew up on

00:49:55.140 my the other culture uh that's not fitness you know this comes from like tattoo inspired right on the

00:50:00.000 culture the uh the the hardcore scene you know when i used to play in a hardcore band back then and just

00:50:05.100 like that type of lifestyle the more luxurious clean side clean looking uh aesthetics pieces but you

00:50:10.960 know dudes with tattoos can wear you know just something uh another another avenue where i can

00:50:14.560 express myself not in the fitness sense right you know but and then like like we were talking about

00:50:19.560 earlier this all comes from my roots from my history so dude so so yeah this is something that i like to

00:50:25.360 talk about too um you you are clearly the embodiment of your brand so you have built the brand around

00:50:32.140 you right talk about that for a minute and the importance of that yeah so it was funny at first i'm

00:50:37.780 like yeah dude i'm gonna fucking blow lift it up i don't want to be the face you know people think oh you 0.97

00:50:41.820 know are you happy you are the face there was a point i mean i think people wanted you to be the 0.66

00:50:46.080 face yeah i didn't want it right i didn't want it to be that way at first i wanted it to be like oh

00:50:50.040 i'm gonna be like a nike i just wanted to be lvft you know but as the market shifts and you know

00:50:55.940 with instagram and all this stuff with behind the scenes and shit people want to see who's behind this 0.94

00:51:00.480 the the brand so i was like fuck it i'm gonna i'm gonna run with this so then i started putting my 0.96

00:51:04.680 face back into it started modeling the clothes you know i mean these guys all my media guys like 0.99

00:51:09.960 always continue to say you should keep doing that so i'm like all right fuck it let's do it you know 0.97

00:51:13.660 because sometimes i'm busy i don't have time to do this shit but you know now i'm making time because 0.98

00:51:17.760 it works for the for the business but it's crazy now because there's this sticky situation that's 0.68

00:51:23.120 that i feel that's uh around now where i have to be a lot more careful now because you people have

00:51:30.040 someone to blame now if something goes wrong right and i'm sure you get this too like if like just 0.98

00:51:34.420 simple customer service shit like oh my package got delivered wrong randall where the fuck is my order 0.99

00:51:39.200 right right you know and i'm just like oh shit but that that comes with right with your face being 1.00

00:51:44.340 associated so much with the brand right right right you know because customers don't know how 0.99

00:51:47.400 businesses well the reality is is it's our fault regardless anyway i mean you're just seeing it more 0.94

00:51:52.000 public right people actually go on your page and say what the fuck randall yeah where's my shipping 0.79

00:51:56.080 confirmation oh man dude so what you're talking about is a really cool concept uh and a revolution in 0.93

00:52:02.980 business so for years and years and years we have you know as we grew up we have bought from

00:52:08.840 companies that we're faceless we've bought from under armor we've bought from nike we've bought from

00:52:13.440 uh you know every company that is faceless and that's something that social media has sort of

00:52:20.140 transformed to where now people don't want to buy from faceless brands anymore they want to buy from

00:52:26.600 somebody who happens to have a brand and that's something that people um you know you learn through

00:52:32.400 experience and i did too so i tried i kind of felt the same way you did but it's anytime i get involved

00:52:38.920 with the brand we sell more shit dude we grow the brand you know what i mean and um we if you really 0.79

00:52:45.280 break it down to how people buy people want to people don't want to buy like how many times have 0.98

00:52:50.460 you heard a radio ad or tv ad and went out and just like oh i bought this we don't buy that way

00:52:54.520 we buy from our friends our whole lives we have bought from you know we go to dinner with with you

00:53:02.480 and i go to dinner and you're wearing a pair of shoes i'm like fuck those are badass and then the 0.91

00:53:05.840 next day i go order them right that's how we've always bought for the last hundred years but now 0.87

00:53:10.500 what social media has created a situation where that dynamic of how we buy on a small scale is now

00:53:16.580 on a mass scale so if you're building a brand right now you have to realize that

00:53:20.760 you as you either have to find somebody who is going to be the true face of the brand or

00:53:27.460 and this is better you have to actually be the embodiment of your brand and i don't think anybody's

00:53:33.280 doing that better than you right now yeah and this is crazy because we were pulling up a lot of

00:53:36.980 analytics prior to this because we were just doing um you know looking at our pno sheets and doing all

00:53:41.100 this other stuff and um we were going through like our marketing strategies and the analytics of that

00:53:46.780 with the our influencers and athletes and ambassadors because we have a full team you know

00:53:50.880 they're not as big as your guys's but i wanted to run the analytics and see how much they're bringing

00:53:56.580 in you know and it's funny it's crazy um people always think like you know you know they're bringing

00:54:02.640 a lot and don't get me wrong they bring in a lot but we did the analytics and the total of um total

00:54:08.780 revenue percentage wise from athletes and ambassadors with their code it only accounts for eight to ten

00:54:14.300 percent of our total revenue the rest comes from just our marketing right and a wholesale right it

00:54:19.580 was funny because then i used this is how much of a an association of my faces with the brand or

00:54:24.300 myself i put out a code i forget when this was probably like last year just to see how much of

00:54:29.660 an influence i would have on my own brand i put it out within eight hours i blew all the athletes codes 0.84

00:54:35.600 they had for a month yeah and i was like holy shit this is crazy taught you a lesson didn't it yeah 0.68

00:54:40.020 yeah yeah you know tell you a lesson that you it's you it's me yes and dude any of you guys out 0.99

00:54:44.760 there trying to create a company you this people are like dude why did you fucking why have you worked 0.97

00:54:49.900 so hard to get in shape why have you lost 100 pounds in the last 18 months i'll tell you why 0.96

00:54:54.740 because i learned a fucking lesson you're just talking about and like dude i was not embodying what 0.98

00:54:59.720 our brand was about i was not truly reflecting and it was it wasn't hurting the company but it was 0.96

00:55:05.820 not allowing us to grow the way that we should and dude and i'm gonna this is a this is a compliment 0.98

00:55:12.340 for you dude like i i aspire to be an embodiment of my brand as good as you do you do a fucking 0.99

00:55:19.760 great job at that man thanks like i don't think anybody does it better so uh you know keep doing

00:55:24.800 that yeah yeah and it just keeps the brand true too you know it's like that's our mission to help

00:55:29.260 people feel better you know promote a healthy lifestyle right and it's just if if there's no better 0.99

00:55:34.180 way with knowing that the owner is doing that exactly like this guy's really living that shit 0.93

00:55:38.120 yeah right right right and i do think you said this earlier unless i'm just imagining this but 0.91

00:55:42.700 did you say you're not really a naturally outgoing person no is that what you say you're more of an

00:55:47.880 introvert put that in oh did i was no that was that was what's that yesterday that was yesterday

00:55:52.320 okay okay jesus phone you're gonna fucking see now man i know i am i'm thinking about over there i don't 0.96

00:55:58.720 know i'm i'm so deep in all this profound thought that i got lost in i think you're still thinking 0.97

00:56:03.300 about the fucking the gang shit a little bit yeah i mean i'm not gonna lie i'm not gonna lie 0.97

00:56:10.160 part of me is about back there going well what if they listen to this and they just decide to 0.99

00:56:13.520 knock me off as a as like a show of power i don't i i mean i'm not gonna have any arguments

00:56:19.580 no love lost here thanks well my point being is are you more outgoing so does this stuff come

00:56:26.700 naturally to you in terms of posting stuff and interacting with people and all that stuff yeah

00:56:31.480 yeah i'd love just you know doing that kind of stuff can i ask you a real question like like 0.98

00:56:36.340 this is i'm asking for me okay and this would benefit other people but like how the fuck do you 0.94

00:56:41.080 like take your pictures and look so fucking cool in all of them like for real like i mean i'm not 0.95

00:56:45.560 like they're they're cool like i i struggle with that like i don't like taking photos and you seem to 0.72

00:56:51.820 be very comfortable taking photos i mean yeah and if you're gonna build a brand you have to become

00:56:55.640 comfortable yeah how how does one do that just by i mean from experience too i'm prior before when 0.96

00:57:01.740 i used to take my own photos and stuff i i didn't have a model i would have to model myself fucking 0.96

00:57:05.520 set the camera on timer and fucking run in front of the camera and shoot it and if it find out you 0.97

00:57:09.740 know through the years and years and years you know how to stand you just know how to yeah how to look 0.99

00:57:13.320 but now i have a good media team i got miguel here we kind of just we've been working together

00:57:17.240 well for so long that we just know the angles you know yeah you kind of just speak that own

00:57:21.400 language that you guys create so that's cool yeah so so so basically what you're saying is

00:57:26.420 when you're when you're young and you're starting a brand and you're trying to figure out how to be 0.99

00:57:29.880 the face of it you're going to have to be comfortable looking fucking stupid for a while 1.00

00:57:33.580 yes you do yeah yeah dude i can't yeah everyone's like oh look at this boy's fucking taking picture 1.00

00:57:37.660 of himself like i don't give a fuck yeah whatever i'm gonna make that shit happen yeah that's fucking 0.99

00:57:41.520 awesome dude i love that these guys caught me last time i was fucking because he was out sick or 0.99

00:57:45.180 something miguel was out sick yeah i didn't have anybody it was late we just like restocked the 0.97

00:57:49.220 product so i had to fucking um take a photo for instagram i put the fucking camera on a tripod 0.99

00:57:54.060 put on a beat on the on the timer and ran in front of the camera started doing a pose and my other 1.00

00:57:58.760 guys my production managers and she just started coming in and fucking snapped me like oh fuck you 1.00

00:58:02.320 it's still a joke but you know you just got some shit you just have to deal with yeah dude you know 0.99

00:58:06.800 i used to be like that uh i used to be like that on video like i would i would when i went to record 0.98

00:58:12.200 a video uh i'd be like okay well what am i i'd ask him or i'd ask whoever was shooting it okay well

00:58:18.000 what am i should i say this should i say that should i what should i do and it wasn't until 0.99

00:58:21.720 i was just like fuck it i'm just gonna do what the fuck i think i should do that shit started 0.98

00:58:25.340 working yeah you know like when i started like when i was like oh uh is this how i should speak 0.99

00:58:30.120 or is this how i should talk or is this how i should do this i i was terrible like the videos

00:58:35.740 and the audio the shit that i would produce was fucking horrible it wasn't until i was just 0.98

00:58:40.040 like fuck this dude i'm just do what the fuck i think yeah and at the end of it i'll be and 0.99

00:58:43.940 i still do this today i'll go to him i go hey was that good like you know but you just got to do 1.00

00:58:49.640 what's you yeah what i mean it's like acting you know you got you might feel stupid here and there 0.59

00:58:53.320 but you get so used to it you get comfortable with it and do it your own your own way yeah

00:58:56.740 you're super comfortable with and it's just going to come off more natural and people are just like

00:59:00.460 i used to not be able to do video or audio with anybody else in the room like i couldn't like if

00:59:04.480 anybody else in the room i would i couldn't do it i have to be like dude you got to get out of 0.96

00:59:07.520 here i'm doing this we just said the key word comforts you got to own that shit yeah you have 0.91

00:59:11.200 to you gotta own it you know you gotta own you're very confident with the actual clothes that you're 0.99

00:59:15.980 wearing because you fucking made them you know you put your heart into them so a lot of people 0.91

00:59:19.560 they don't understand fashion like is this what i'm supposed to be wearing in this yeah i can speak 0.98

00:59:23.180 about my clothes like man you know like yeah that whatever whatever that is it's fucking badass i like 0.90

00:59:28.300 that the other the other the other phrase you use though that i thought is really important is that

00:59:32.140 you talked about how your team kind of knows the right angles and you kind of you kind of have a

00:59:35.780 feel for that yeah and i think what a lot of people don't realize is there are very few people

00:59:40.260 that are so good looking that that they don't have some angle that makes them look bad you know

00:59:46.600 like you just everybody has to find the angles and the right and the shots dude i think everybody

00:59:50.780 honestly i think everybody can look good in photos absolutely everybody because dude the reality is is

00:59:55.540 like your imperfections are what makes you fucking cool like like your uniqueness is what makes you 0.87

01:00:01.620 cool i used to think like oh i have a fucking look like this and be like this and this and then i got 0.99

01:00:05.200 stabbed in the fucking face you know what i mean and i'm like fuck and then for like five years i was 0.99

01:00:09.160 like fuck dude my face is fucked up and then finally i'm like fuck it dude actually it kind of 1.00

01:00:13.900 looks cool and now i fucking own it it's part of my brand and and dude you know just owning the 1.00

01:00:19.060 imperfections is what you know you find somebody who knows how to take photos and video they can make 0.69

01:00:23.580 you look fucking cool you know i mean even you vaughn oh i get a face for radio that's why we're

01:00:29.980 doing radio that's right yeah so your location definitely helps too when it comes to your brand 0.90

01:00:34.680 because it's you you know you take you take a brand like top threads and you bring it out to

01:00:38.700 like the countryside and it's just like there's contrast but there's way too fucking oh no his 0.97

01:00:42.960 brand is authentic to him yes yeah yeah for sure so dude so the last couple years i noticed and

01:00:49.420 before you and i had even met you know we were doing a lot of the same things as developing like

01:00:53.460 uh as our personal brands uh as entrepreneurs you know like we were we were going on the instagram

01:00:58.660 pages and people were promoting us and shit like that we were both on build build your empire cover 0.93

01:01:03.120 that was cool as fuck uh what what's your mission with that man like like because i see you working 0.76

01:01:09.160 hard to build your name as an entrepreneur what's what's the goal for that the goal for like it's 0.93

01:01:15.540 similar to yours i mean correct me if i'm wrong but it's to literally just let young aspiring entrepreneurs

01:01:21.600 or just people in general know that there's another route you can take to success you know and that

01:01:28.440 the the blueprint that was written still taught today isn't fucking correct anymore things are 0.94

01:01:34.180 changing the technology technology is changing marketing is changing everything is changing fast

01:01:39.240 and the only people in the forefront is people like us because we're living it day to day and the only 0.93

01:01:43.620 way people can teach it is us telling it that's right because if not then fucking who else is going to 0.87

01:01:48.120 know because if we're not leaving our blueprint and leaving our our um our mark our mark no one's 0.84

01:01:54.460 going to learn because it's just going to change again we live in such an awesome time because you

01:01:58.060 and i didn't have that exactly we didn't have entrepreneurs that we could look and watch and

01:02:03.960 see them how we couldn't see like dude think about this i looked i used to look up to guys in uh you know

01:02:10.360 other business guys back in when i was trying to become a business guy when i was 19 years old 18 years 0.95

01:02:15.460 old i was all i saw was the fucking product on the shelf i didn't see how they marketed i didn't see who 0.96

01:02:22.100 they had representing it i saw their ads and i saw the product and that's all i could pull from 0.98

01:02:26.520 now you guys actually have real entrepreneurs who are building brands in the moment that are 0.70

01:02:33.320 actually willing to give you their fucking time and tell you how to do that like dude people they 0.98

01:02:39.540 have such a huge advantage now you know what i mean like dude the barrier to entry to business 0.97

01:02:43.780 and and the price to pay to success is so much smaller than it used to be you used to have to grind 0.97

01:02:50.420 out 10 15 years now you're five years in you're fucking killing it dude like it's the game is just 0.96

01:02:58.180 so much faster and i just i'm almost pissed that like i had to pay the price that i had to pay 0.99

01:03:05.180 you know what i mean like i wish i was like 10 years younger because i would have been where i wanted

01:03:10.300 to be 10 years faster you know and uh you guys are such an advantage to have people like randall and

01:03:17.200 other people out there who are literally doing it right now to learn from dude and by the way our

01:03:23.200 missions are exactly aligned yeah yeah it's like we're like i don't get anything out of it you know 0.97

01:03:28.940 i just want to fucking let people know that this shit is this is how it is yeah because i didn't 0.96

01:03:33.360 have that i was like fuck you know might as well share it yeah let people you know know what's what's 0.99

01:03:37.760 real yeah dude it's going to be cool to see in the next 10 years how people who are just now 0.95

01:03:43.760 starting brands how that develops right i mean because like with the uh barrier to entry low

01:03:50.400 lowering you have more competition so like when you started and you started doing t-shirts and stuff

01:03:55.520 like that um you had some competitors right now you there's fucking 10 million people doing it it's 0.94

01:04:00.600 the same for supplements there's 10 million brands out there so to to become better you have to 0.70

01:04:06.940 really learn the game like you can't if you're out there just buying some t-shirts and you're going 0.97

01:04:11.260 to create a fucking cool design on it and post on instagram you ain't gonna fucking make it you've 0.99

01:04:16.300 got it you've got to design this shit like it's a fucking chess match and you've got to execute on it 0.99

01:04:20.920 like that you know uh we do have amazing tools we've got amazing tools to let us know uh you know let 1.00

01:04:26.900 people know facebook instagram twitter we've got these things youtube but everybody else has them too

01:04:34.940 and that's one of the biggest things so how do you deal with like you don't seem like a guy who

01:04:40.500 confirms himself with competition at all like you're just doing your thing right now i've always believed

01:04:45.360 in that since day one i'm not worried about whoever this is you know my competition if there is any you

01:04:51.000 know i'm just literally focusing on our culture our business making sure my guys grow making sure our

01:04:55.780 business is functioning make sure we're scaling make sure we're growing if all those things are 0.71

01:04:59.600 aligned then i'm fucking happy i'm fucking chilling do you notice how do you notice like a lot of young 0.98

01:05:03.760 guys how they get so fixated on what everybody else is doing they always ask well who's your 0.95

01:05:07.320 biggest competition i'm like i don't i don't know yeah right i don't know there is no competition for

01:05:12.000 what you're doing because what you're doing is unique right you know what i mean and that's that's 0.88

01:05:15.600 the thing if you do you like people ask me that same shit they're like who's your competition 0.94

01:05:19.680 who's your biggest competition i'm like i really couldn't fucking tell you yeah like i don't know 0.94

01:05:24.340 yourself yeah really but i mean like well i mean you also do say amazon i mean you go after the 0.93

01:05:29.340 biggest fucking fish well obviously yes i mean we we have to do things that you know now to compete 0.84

01:05:35.940 against new outlets of how things are sold that's just yeah but that's not amazon's not my literal 0.99

01:05:41.760 competition like my literal competition would be like other companies who make supplements but like

01:05:46.760 none of them are doing it well enough for me to consider them competition no offense guys but

01:05:51.120 that's the truth i respect a lot of companies i do but i do feel like what we do is unique and

01:05:56.580 nobody else can do what we do and exactly so we do what we do you know yeah um are there other

01:06:03.280 great companies yeah are there bigger companies yeah but i think we're the best at what we do

01:06:07.600 you know what i mean and when you when you focus on that you could constantly improve and constantly

01:06:13.360 get better when you're focused on what everybody else is doing you know you don't have the energy at 1.00

01:06:17.460 the end of the day to put it into your own brand you're worried you're stressed you're fucking you 0.98

01:06:21.180 know now i do like to look at other companies i like to look at other companies and say okay 0.99

01:06:28.180 they're doing this well they're doing this well they're doing this well they're doing this well

01:06:31.320 and pay them compliments and say okay well well they do this really well we could do that better

01:06:36.000 and i i i gauge myself against other companies but i certainly don't obsess over it you just learn

01:06:41.700 yeah maybe you know see something that's maybe you can utilize you know or and whatnot you're just

01:06:47.000 looking at and learning so i think it's important to be aware but just always be aware just be aware

01:06:50.680 of the competitors but don't fucking focus on them yeah you know that's a big thing that there's 0.77

01:06:55.940 enough room for everybody to make a lot of money oh yeah yeah that's the truth so um dude what do you 0.95

01:07:02.140 what do you think like if you had a young person come to you right now who says randall i'm going

01:07:08.600 to start an apparel business i want to i want to be like you i want to do i want to do that what

01:07:12.560 would your advice to them be i would i mean i would first ask them what are you into you know

01:07:18.580 see if they have a a story they can tell if their life is interesting and what have they been through

01:07:23.880 you know because i i think now if you start an apparel company you got to have a story you got to

01:07:29.220 have like a a mission that that backs it for real you know yeah because that's what's going to make it

01:07:35.240 people are more tied to emotions more tied to a story now you know it's like real so i mean if

01:07:41.100 if they were going to it's got to be good yeah it's also got to stand for something yeah exactly

01:07:45.040 so if the kid's too young and they haven't experienced much like hey man go live life and 0.99

01:07:48.460 then come back maybe you can start a apparel company later but go go live life go fuck up do 1.00

01:07:52.880 what what you do to have fun with your friends and you know learn some shit learn some shit you 0.99

01:07:57.960 know and then yeah yeah and just build it around who they are build it around that build it around 0.94

01:08:02.620 your your fun times build it around you know the things that mean something to you yeah you know

01:08:07.320 like that's one thing that people i think with first form the reason we've been so successful

01:08:11.820 is because people resonate with what we're about like dude we're not about posting pictures of 0.93

01:08:17.320 ourselves you know butt naked on the internet 50 times a day nobody gives a fuck we're literally about 0.91

01:08:22.880 helping people get results helping take people like my mom who's 100 pounds overweight and helping 0.56

01:08:28.240 her feel comfortable going to the gym helping people who have no confidence gain confidence through

01:08:33.620 fitness you know all the good things that fitness teach you know uh dedication uh discipline

01:08:38.740 and and and and inclusion really like dude i feel like the fitness industry uh had got very exclusive

01:08:46.080 for a while like it wasn't like oh dude it was like if you didn't look already fit you weren't cool

01:08:51.360 enough to be in it right you know what i mean and dude that's not what fitness is about man fitness is

01:08:55.940 about taking people that have struggles and making them feel comfortable because like a biggest problem

01:09:01.220 with fitness is like a lot of people don't feel comfortable even going to the gym you know what

01:09:04.960 i mean they don't feel comfortable associating with the brand because they're fat they're out of shape 0.86

01:09:08.720 they're unhealthy and dude i was that guy a fucking year ago you know what i mean so i know what that's 0.99

01:09:13.120 like like i didn't want to go to the gym when i was 350 fucking pounds it's embarrassing imagine 0.97

01:09:18.020 owning supplement companies and having to do that and everybody knows you own them like dude it's 0.85

01:09:22.640 embarrassing you know but the point is is that you know i think building brands around cultures and

01:09:29.540 meanings i i don't think this i know this is going to be the defining factor between the mega

01:09:34.460 who becomes the mega brands and who becomes just another company right you know what i mean i think

01:09:39.880 like even nike and under armor they don't really do a good job at at providing a mission you know

01:09:47.060 what i mean and dude there's going to be apparel brands probably yours and other brands like yours

01:09:51.580 who are going to come through with a mission and they're going to take over that space it's just a

01:09:56.580 matter of time you know because they're they're so big they have so much cash they have all that

01:10:00.520 shit yeah you know and you you what you're doing is is the future of where these companies are going 0.93

01:10:06.600 yeah i actually got an email from one of the marketing directors of nike from the west region 0.97

01:10:10.060 it was just a long message saying that he was inspired by what we were doing what our media team

01:10:14.420 was doing so i thought that was pretty fucking cool yeah dude and that's another thing is like a lot 0.87

01:10:19.440 of the smaller companies like mine and yours we're doing better fucking content than the big 0.98

01:10:23.400 companies you know what i mean dude shit is just changing it's exciting man yeah like you don't 0.96

01:10:28.560 have to be like this massive company anymore to do and when i say massive i mean both of us have 0.96

01:10:33.940 big companies but like we're we're big small companies exactly you know what i'm saying yeah 0.93

01:10:37.700 like we're not fucking nike but you don't have to have a a fucking skyscraper full of a thousand 0.97

01:10:43.480 people anymore to make an impact you know and dude that's what people want right they want to be 0.96

01:10:47.520 impacted they want to be they want to be helped they want to be um they want to be

01:10:51.600 inspired dude and they want to feel included and brands that don't do that anymore they're

01:10:56.760 they're going to lose traction you know what i mean what are you going to wear you're going to

01:10:59.840 wear live fit because it means something to me and i want to be a part of that crew or you're

01:11:03.520 going to wear nike which is the same quality but it doesn't stand for anything you see what i'm

01:11:08.040 saying what do you think yeah i mean it's it's just like the whole branding part people are just

01:11:13.460 going more towards something they can affiliate themselves with you know and i think our brands

01:11:18.160 would do a good job with connecting with the customer face to face with like our phones you

01:11:22.340 know right like nike doesn't do that you know we we're giving back you know like we're doing

01:11:26.600 uh free workout tips for for the people that to use you know just on their fingertips yeah and we

01:11:31.460 would go live and just talk to our our customers and our fans you know so it's it's something that

01:11:35.160 we can offer uh that are more uh more than the big companies you know so it's uh it's it's being

01:11:43.420 fluid right like like these big companies they have so much overhead they have so much policy they

01:11:48.200 have so many things they're rigid in in their systems they're rigid in their flexibility where

01:11:53.660 smaller brands like yours and mine we can be fluid and we can adjust quickly to what the customer wants

01:11:59.700 what they need what they're asking for and you know that gives us a big advantage is being fluid you

01:12:05.200 know um i've always enjoyed doing things better than the big companies even if we're not a big company

01:12:13.020 like i take pride in it no even if not everybody knows that we do it better i like doing it better

01:12:17.100 yeah yeah so dude before we close out man like you know uh everybody kind of has like one one big

01:12:27.440 thing like for me my when i got stabbed and almost died like i was that was a big turning point in my

01:12:35.180 life like i always like to hear like do you do you have any moments that would be like something that

01:12:42.100 that impacted your life in a way massively in an instant any situations like that you could talk

01:12:51.580 about still be multiple i don't know yeah yeah i mean i guess on another note something that really

01:12:59.820 really like made me say that i made it was when i was able to retire my mom that was fun yeah so she 0.97

01:13:06.300 didn't have to work this was like two years ago i'll tell her i was like because she's been fucking 0.99

01:13:10.300 working since you know so i was you know i was like fuck it you know i'm gonna retire you yeah 0.98

01:13:15.480 and now she doesn't have to work got her a car got her place to stay so she's chilling 0.98

01:13:19.520 that's because she came from the war from the uh uh the killing fields the khami uh genocide 0.85

01:13:25.300 with pol pot pol pot yeah she survived that she survived that you know running through bombs and 0.98

01:13:29.860 shit carrying my aunts and stuff yeah this that's some other shit yeah she's seen a lot of murders a 1.00

01:13:34.320 lot yeah so you know about the killing fields oh yeah it was more more people um killed in the jewish 1.00

01:13:39.400 genocide it's just not documented because a lot of history's been burned off and stuff yeah

01:13:43.440 no way so she fled from that country yeah this is after the vietnam war as well so it's more recent

01:13:47.660 so it wasn't even that long ago it wasn't it was like in the late 70s right yeah so she

01:13:51.260 cambodia right in cambodia yeah so i'm cambodian yeah yeah so she survived that and came here

01:13:56.280 with fucking nothing with two uh and then you know was with my dad which was a arranged marriage 0.99

01:14:02.660 and then uh now obviously divorced and raised me with fucking nothing low income all that shit 1.00

01:14:08.520 so she worked her whole life up until you know two years ago and i was like hey damn fuck it you 1.00

01:14:13.660 don't gotta work anymore well she must have done some some shit right yeah because dude she raised 1.00

01:14:17.620 some good son man that's fucking yeah that is awesome that's respect dude i like that a lot 0.98

01:14:22.060 thanks yeah that's that's amazing yeah like i didn't even know that like let's just to piggyback on 0.97

01:14:30.540 what he was saying yeah so the reason that we have numbers for the holocaust is because germans are 0.98

01:14:35.720 they want to keep records of everything but the the complete purging that paul putt did about like

01:14:42.220 the whole population was they're they're they're estimating like it's could be two or three times

01:14:46.960 worse yeah i think it was literally people that did not conform to it right yeah his idea of

01:14:51.880 people were killed all um uh instructors teachers doctors that were all killed off they always they 0.98

01:14:57.340 wanted everyone to live poor and the same way which my mom did live for three uh three years 1.00

01:15:02.900 same haircut same black clothes same amount of food every single day in the fucking farmland you do 1.00

01:15:08.780 labor and and that's a cheat my grandma used to sneak fucking lizards and shit and fucking eat that 1.00

01:15:15.080 because that's all the food you can eat all you can have yeah it's fucking nuts dude you know angelina 1.00

01:15:20.380 jolie now um she actually has maddox the the kid she adopted from um cambodia now she's just put out 0.92

01:15:27.660 this movie called first to kill my father which kind of gives a an overview of what happened you

01:15:32.540 know so i was actually invited to the premiere um viewing uh with angelina jolie in long beach

01:15:38.000 there's a huge community over there in long beach yeah so cambodians so 0.88

01:15:41.800 that story just get first of all if you're making a fucking excuse about like if you're bitching about 0.99

01:15:50.060 america and this and that fuck you man like dude that's what america's about like america's about 1.00

01:15:56.200 giving people the opportunity to yeah it might not happen to every single person but your mom 1.00

01:16:02.040 started a trickle down that happened to you and dude it's just amazing like that's the fucking 0.96

01:16:08.340 american dream like that's what it's about i love that bro like i didn't know that that's amazing 0.93
