In this episode of the MFCEO Project, I talk about a common mistake people make when it comes to becoming a CEO, and how to overcome it. I also talk about how important it is to understand that you were meant to be the CEO of your life, and not the next guy to you.
00:00:00.420I can stack them hundreds to the roof. I ain't stopping till they stack to the moon.
00:00:04.900Without me, my family wouldn't have food. Anybody go against me gotta lose.
00:00:12.540What is up guys? You're listening to the MFCEO Project. I'm Andy, I'm your host, and I am the motherfucking CEO.
00:00:19.440Guys, the goal of this movement, and this is a movement, it's not just a podcast.
00:00:25.080We could be categorized under business, we could be categorized under self-help, we could be categorized under personal development, or a bunch of other motherfucking shit.
00:00:34.480But the truth is, is this is a fucking movement, and the goal of this movement is to get you to understand that you were meant to be the motherfucking CEO of your life.
00:00:47.340Today I'm going to talk about something that should be obvious, but it's not obvious, because I see it every day.
00:00:54.380I see it in the DMs I get, I see it in the questions that some of y'all ask, I see it in my own employees, in the way that they conduct themselves sometimes.
00:01:05.740Not all of them, we have an amazing team here, but I'm saying this is something that has to do with younger people.
00:01:15.140I read a study, and I can't remember where I read it, so I might misquote it, but you'll get the point.
00:01:22.380Back in the 1950s, 12% of the people felt that they would become a millionaire in their life.
00:01:31.480And of the 12%, 10% of the 12% had an actual plan to become that.
00:01:40.020Now, they polled people recently with the same question, and over 80% of the people expected that they were going to become a millionaire.
00:01:50.500But less than 2% of those 80% had an actual plan.
00:01:58.080What the fuck do you think that means?
00:02:01.140Well, I'm going to tell you what it means, because I see it every day in the shit that a lot of you guys say, and the way you behave.
00:02:11.440You think that whatever you're doing right now, whatever it is you do for a job, whatever habits you have, whatever it is that you are doing right at this moment,
00:02:23.340you believe that it doesn't actually matter, and that no matter what happens, you're eventually going to figure it out.
00:02:33.120And you're eventually just going to become successful, and that it's just going to, quote, unquote, materialize and come together.
00:02:44.980And guys, I'm going to tell you that couldn't be further from the fucking truth.
00:02:49.920The truth is, as I've told you over and over and over again, but some of you refuse to listen, is that what you're doing now,
00:03:02.200no matter how insignificant it might seem, no matter how dead end it might seem, no matter how pointless it might seem,
00:03:10.760is shaping your habits for the future.
00:03:14.260A lot of you guys are under the age of 25, and you're doing jobs that you don't feel you have a future in.
00:03:22.420And if you're lucky enough to be in a company, like my companies, where the ownership actually works to create careers
00:03:30.500for the people who are 20 and 21 and 22 and 23, or whatever the fuck your age is,
00:03:38.300and you don't think that the bottom-level job that you have to do at the beginning
00:03:45.060is pertinent or important to your development, and you actually becoming a millionaire is ridiculous.
00:03:58.880Because we've all heard the saying, how you do one thing is how you do everything.
