00:03:08.560 they took their effort, they took their talent and their energy and they put time into something
00:03:12.540 and that creates value, you know, for, for, for what I would perceive as value over maybe some,
00:03:21.480 somebody who just casually listens. It's cool, you know, because that's what we're going to talk
00:03:25.660 about today. We're going to talk about the importance of creating value in yourself. Um,
00:03:31.300 like I said in the intro, so many people float down the river of life without ever even putting
00:03:38.080 their paddles in the water, just hoping and praying and dreaming and wishing that they're
00:03:42.800 going to end up somewhere good guys. That's not how life works. You know, you have paddles in your
00:03:48.140 boat. You've just got to learn to use them. And first you've got to choose to use them. You've got
00:03:52.880 to choose to accept that there are paddles and then you've got to become disciplined enough to use
00:03:58.380 them on a regular basis. You know, too many people are just passive in the way that they live.
00:04:04.020 And so what I want to dig into today is how to create value in yourself, whether you are,
00:04:10.800 uh, somebody who owns a business and you're going to create value for your customers or your
00:04:15.780 employees, or whether you're a manager of people or whether you're, let's say the low man on the
00:04:20.800 totem pole, I call those people fry cooks. Okay. You're the guy entry level. How do you create
00:04:26.580 value so that you don't have to keep cooking the fucking fries? All right. That's what we want to dig
00:04:31.620 into today. And, and I want to get you guys to understand one concept up front, straight up from
00:04:39.540 the beginning. Okay. No matter where you're working or what you're doing or who you're working for,
00:04:45.860 you are working for yourself. You have to understand that concept first and foremost,
00:04:52.380 because the effort that you put in is going to create habits. The habits that you create,
00:04:58.140 even if you're the fry cook are going to dictate the progress that you have in life, because you're
00:05:04.620 not going to be able to just flip a switch one day and say, Oh, and now I'm a CEO, you know,
00:05:10.060 or now I'm a manager or now I'm a leader because you've been half asking it because you don't see
00:05:15.000 the value and cook a fucking French fries. All right. So you have to understand the effort that you put
00:05:20.120 in now, whether your job is cooking fries, whether it's sweeping floors, whether it's digging ditches,
00:05:25.280 it doesn't fucking matter. You've got to do certain things that are going to create the habits that
00:05:30.560 will stick with you over the course of your life. If you come into work on a daily basis and you half
00:05:36.780 ass shit, you're creating a habit of half assing shit. And that habit of half assing shit is what
00:05:42.200 creates up the majority of society and why they have such a hard time getting out of debt, living a
00:05:48.940 life stress-free when it comes to money or financially free. Okay. We're not talking about even getting
00:05:53.480 wealthy here. We're talking about just not being chained up so tight that you can't fucking do
00:05:58.520 anything. You know, so many people live that kind of life and it's irresponsible for a lot of reasons.
00:06:05.440 First of all, and I'll just hit on this right up front. You have a responsibility to your family
00:06:11.400 to become financially free to a point where if something bad happens, you could fucking handle it.
00:06:17.600 All right. You don't have to be driving a fucking Lamborghini. You don't have to drive a Rolls Royce.
00:06:22.500 You don't have to fly on private jets, but you have a fucking responsibility to earn enough money
00:06:27.020 to take care of people that depend on you. And a lot of people don't take that responsibility

00:06:54.840 working just to be seen because like you said, they half-ass it when the boss isn't around. When
00:07:00.020 the boss is around, they put great effort. They put all this attention to detail, but they realize,
00:07:06.780 and then when the boss takes off and they don't work hard, I think that's when you realize that
00:07:10.980 they don't get it. They don't realize that all that effort really is benefiting them.

00:07:19.160 when he's there versus when he's not there. Right. I mean, the reason the dude's in charge

00:07:53.720 a neighborhood they hate. They bitch about how unfair life is and why the man fucks them and
00:07:59.500 how the rich got to pay their fucking share of taxes and all this other bullshit that you
00:08:02.960 see everywhere. You know, it's a loser mentality. So understand up front, especially you guys who
00:08:09.240 are younger, 17, 18, 19 years old. And even if you're older, if you're fucking 50 years old and
00:08:15.600 you're listening to this podcast, dude, you could build a crazy business in 10 years. You could build
00:08:21.480 a business that changes the history of your family and the next two or three, four generations

00:10:57.800 someone's going to notice the work that you do. And if they don't, you're going to be able to go

00:11:06.880 but what every single employer understands and looks at and sees every day is all you motherfuckers

00:12:26.240 they're going to start working. Right. So I know you want to be really practical here. I know

00:12:35.140 sometimes there are moments when you say to yourself, you know what, odd people are born
00:12:41.020 entrepreneurs. I mean, they can develop that, they can cultivate it. But a lot of times people
00:12:46.780 just like you say, you're just born with this desire to create your, you're born with this desire
00:12:51.020 to, to, to build things. I guess my question is, you know, if we're honest, this whole self
00:12:57.860 direction and this self motivation, how many people out there do you think are born with it?
00:13:02.980 And, or how many people can, can truly train themselves to, to say, okay, I am going to
00:13:09.540 remind myself, I work for myself. You know what I'm saying? Like how much of it is in your DNA and
00:13:13.640 how much can you cultivate and how do you cultivate it? You know, I struggle with this question a lot
00:13:19.340 because I am naturally driven and I run at a high fucking frequency all times, you know? Um,
00:13:27.400 it's hard for me to relate to anything else. And it's hard for me to understand the mentality of
00:13:33.920 not being like that. Um, I think anybody who has that mentality, I know for sure anybody who's had
00:13:40.640 that mentality that I've personally met has the same issues with under, not understanding how people
00:13:46.800 cannot be like that. And it's really funny with you because be honest, I mean, you are the laziest
00:13:54.440 person, you know, but you are the most driven at the same time. So if you can self-motivate
00:13:59.320 yourself, I mean, sounds cliche, but anybody can explain what you mean by that. Well, you've
00:14:04.320 always, you've always referred to yourself as extremely lazy in your head, right? Yeah.
00:14:08.480 But, but, but that's, you feel those thoughts coming on. Yeah. Yeah. But, but that's your
00:14:16.620 natural inclination. Huh? That's your natural inclination you've said before. Yes. But that's
00:14:21.340 the, the thing is, is I've learned how to trigger those fucking thoughts into action, which makes
00:14:25.380 you not lazy. Right. You know what I mean? Right. So I don't know, man. Like I feel like most
00:14:30.760 people, I feel like most people are just fucking clueless to be completely honest. I feel like they,
00:14:38.160 they, they, they live in the expectation box that was built by society for them. And if
00:14:45.860 they somehow master the inside of that box and live at a level of what's called a quote
00:14:54.040 unquote productive human inside that box that they feel successful, you know what I mean?
00:14:59.660 And so most people grow, grow up in that system, you know, like their mom and dad together make
00:15:06.020 $80,000 a year, you know, and that's what they, so when they make 70,000 a year, they feel
00:15:13.020 wealthy. Right. Right. Even though they're still struggling with their bills, they can't do the
00:15:16.740 shit that they want. And they feel like that's the limitation that they're quote unquote meant
00:15:22.260 to be because that's what they grew up seeing, you know? So I feel like the expectations are set
00:15:27.840 by what they observe through growing up. And that's really all they ever expected themselves.
00:15:34.840 So, you know, when you get in a comfortable state and you don't expect more from yourself,
00:15:39.280 you're never going to achieve more. So I feel like people, you know, they're, they would like
00:15:45.320 more. Like I would like, I w they like the idea of success, but they don't like what's comes
00:15:51.900 with it in terms of like, they know it's not guaranteed. So therefore exactly. So they take
00:15:56.360 the quote unquote safe route, which isn't really the safe route because they could be fired at any
00:16:00.760 time. They could fucking, you know, get hit by a car and be in a hospital for a week and their
00:16:05.920 hospital bills be 70 fucking grand as much as they make in a year. You know, they don't think about
00:16:10.520 these things. Like the one thing I like about Grant Cardone is he, you know, his 10 X thing,
00:16:15.180 like, dude, you need 10 times more money than you fucking think you need. And you need to work 10
00:16:21.880 times harder than you fucking think you need to work, you know? And I, I believe that I believe
00:16:26.960 that and taught that before I ever read it in his book. I just think that's the truth. You know,
00:16:32.560 I know a lady right now who, uh, just got sick and they diagnosed her with leukemia, like end stage

00:17:36.760 And you know, blah, blah, blah. Well, I'm going to tell you right now, make it 60, 70 grand a year
00:17:40.620 as your fucking, as your end game. You're, you're, you're, you're, you're irresponsibly living your
00:17:48.320 life by thinking that's acceptable. If you have a family, dude, not to mention, like I found out 10
00:17:53.240 years ago that I'm going to need to make a fuck ton of money. Cause my parents, I don't want them
00:17:57.780 work until they're dead. Cause that's what will happen. They don't have even just that dude. Most people
00:18:02.260 don't give a fuck about their parents. They don't think like that. No, you know what I mean? But
00:18:05.960 I'm saying at a bare minimum level thinking, dude, you're responsible for the kids that you have and
00:18:11.680 the people in your life. And people just don't take that responsibility serious. They, they think
00:18:17.280 that 60, $70,000 a year or $80,000 a year is going to get it done for them. And you ask anybody who's

00:19:35.340 of the core values that you would need to adopt internally to create value for yourself.
00:19:42.200 Okay. We talked about how your actions that you have are going to create the habits that
00:19:47.240 you have in your future. No matter if you work for this guy and you hate your boss and you
00:19:52.520 hate your job and you hate cooking French fries, you have to understand those habits
00:19:57.040 are valuable. Okay. So you're creating value in yourself, even if they don't fucking recognize
00:20:02.080 it. All right. Most companies will recognize it. Contrary to what most people cry about on
00:20:07.060 Facebook and say, Oh, you know, they don't appreciate my efforts and blah, blah, blah. You
00:20:11.100 know why you're not appreciated? Cause you're not fucking doing anything great. You're doing
00:20:14.320 what the fuck you're paid for. And you think that you deserve a pat on the back for what
00:20:19.920 I fucking pay you to do, which you don't write to get a pat on the fucking back or to get
00:20:24.520 a raise. Guess what? You've got to go beyond that. And that's called going the extra mile,
00:20:30.100 which actually is a great core value that I'm going to talk about when creating value
00:20:34.180 inside your own self. Okay. Take whatever it is that you get paid to do and do a little
00:20:42.140 bit extra. All right. You don't have to do this. This is, this is, I know this is a hard
00:20:46.160 concept for you guys who are out there thinking like this, but they don't fucking pay me to
00:20:50.200 do that. You're going to have to do a little bit more that you don't actually get paid for
00:20:54.660 now so that you can get paid later. It's called an investment. All right. What you do that
00:21:01.920 you're expected to do earns your paycheck. When you do more, that's an investment in your
00:21:07.480 future. And if you think that the real world works any other way, you're fucking delusional.
00:21:13.760 This is how it works. And you'll have all the fucking liberal idiots on the fucking internet
00:21:18.900 and on TV say, Oh, you know, you're not fucking paying them the $5 extra per hour time. Look,
00:21:24.920 man, I'm just telling you the way it is. You could pick, you could fucking, you could, I'm
00:21:30.100 not saying you need to put in extra hours. It could go in the extra mile can be things
00:21:34.940 like how details you are. You know, maybe they say, Hey, stock the shelves. And instead of just
00:21:40.540 stocking the shelves, you stock the shelves so fucking good that every time your manager
00:21:45.560 comes by, they say, man, you know what? I know Andy stocked those shelves because they
00:21:48.580 look so fucking good. Okay. We're talking about things like taking a customer who is,
00:21:53.580 who is happy and making them ecstatic by doing something a little bit extra. Okay. There's
00:22:00.180 millions and millions of opportunities for this, but the key to executing this on a, on a mass
00:22:06.560 scale over the course of your life and creating a habit out of it is to always be looking for
00:22:11.640 an opportunity to do a little bit more. And so many people, well, how do they look at
00:22:17.120 it? They look at it is where's my opportunity cut a corner. Okay. So not only are you standing
00:22:24.020 out above the guy who does his job, you're actually getting two steps ahead of most people
00:22:28.120 because most people are trying to figure out how to make it appear that their job is done
00:22:32.600 when it really isn't done. And you're not, you're not thinking of it that way. You're
00:22:36.960 thinking about how to do the job perfectly and a little bit more. How much value does
00:22:40.800 that create over the average motherfucker?
00:22:43.600 Tremendous amount of value. And in listening to you over the course of the last year, one
00:22:47.120 of the things that I think makes a difference between people that do the extra, that take
00:22:52.240 the initiative is that ultimately they think it's going to be worth it. And I, it was, you
00:22:58.460 know, you've said it a lot of times, uh, success is not magic. It's, it's, you know, do this,
00:23:04.100 do this, do this, and you will be successful. Do the work and you will be successful. And
00:23:07.700 I think that the people that don't do the little extra people believe that they're going
00:23:12.280 to do it and, and they're still going to get screwed. But the people that do the extra
00:23:17.640 say, no, no, no, I'm doing the extra. Cause not only is it, is it developing character
00:23:21.940 qualities in me, it's, it's making, it's creating value.

00:23:30.380 All right. So you're a hundred percent right. People that don't do the extra, they know
00:23:34.620 that doing the extra is how to get ahead, but they don't believe that there's a, they
00:23:38.040 don't believe that there's an end game for them here in the position they're in now.
00:23:42.680 And they gladly say, well, if I had, if I had an opportunity to move forward, I would
00:23:49.040 do all this extra shit. No, you wouldn't because you're justifying why not to do it now.

00:24:26.620 understand that they're creating development on their own. And I think it's easy to get
