00:00:00.000 what is up guys you're listening to episode 119 of the MFCEO project I'm Andy I'm your host and I 0.91

00:00:15.700 am the motherfucking CEO yeah I know that intro was a little different but I was getting tired 0.67

00:00:20.580 of hearing the same thing I was getting annoyed by myself for saying the same thing so I just 0.95

00:00:25.640 gotta change it up guys if this is your first time listening welcome this podcast is for everybody

00:00:33.840 it doesn't matter if you own a business it doesn't matter if you aspire to own a business

00:00:37.900 it doesn't matter if you don't aspire to own a business this podcast is for you if you have the 1.00

00:00:45.480 mentality of wanting to punch life straight in the fucking mouth kick ass and take no prisoners 0.99

00:00:52.600 in everything you do which is the definition of greatness why is it called the MFCEO project a 1.00

00:01:00.140 lot of people say Andy why do you got to say motherfucker in front of the CEO because it's 0.99

00:01:04.940 cool it means you're a badass and what better way to go through life than being a bad motherfucker 0.99

00:01:10.500 and being the motherfucking CEO of your life how many people go through life living in a box that 0.99

00:01:18.080 they were put in by other people only to wish that they would have just taken control of their life 0.99

00:01:24.080 and done the things they wanted to do become the person they wanted to be and that person they

00:01:29.260 wanted to be is that person that you dream about being before you go to sleep at night okay it's the 1.00

00:01:34.820 one you don't tell anybody about and it's the one that you should be and that's a motherfucking 0.99

00:01:40.040 CEO all right that's what we're going to talk about as always I'm joined by my co-host Vaughn Kohler aka 0.98

00:01:47.860 the pastor of disaster aka Vaughn the Impaler aka DJ DJ God what's up my man I've got a new pre-podcast

00:02:00.100 ritual and you're gonna it's just gonna blow your mind is it no okay no that might work for some

00:02:06.140 people no I'm a child of the 80s so I I driving here you know I was listening to Ozzy Osbourne

00:02:11.540 I was listening to Motley Crue I was listening to ACDC which brings up a very important point that I

00:02:18.000 want to make you like this rap stuff but I really think you need I think I think I really think you

00:02:25.700 need to open up Thursday Thunders with Thunderstruck Thunderstruck yeah oh that's a good that's a good

00:02:31.200 intro it is a good I can play it on guitar can you really yeah that's awesome yeah that's a that's a

00:02:35.740 cool intro yeah so I was so I was locked in listening to that so it we're just gonna take

00:02:40.940 it to the next level I'm down with that yeah I like my I like my John Cena yeah see we you don't

00:02:46.440 even know but we changed the intro on you no I know what's that what is John Cena dude yeah I don't 0.91

00:02:53.680 I see I mean I John Cena isn't he an actor you're fucking fire isn't he the marine guy that's an actor 0.98

00:03:00.480 I guess he is the marine you're still fire all right he's a wrestler dude he's cool as fuck yeah but 0.97

00:03:05.580 he's okay fine but that's like is that music is cool on its own though I like the intro do you

00:03:10.020 think of the rock as an actor or a wrestler actor okay easily okay but it took a long time for me

00:03:15.980 to think that yeah yeah and we're also joined by our producer MC Salmon aka Tyler once again the

00:03:26.660 only time he even wants to introduce me is just so he can come up with you know I just want to make

00:03:30.380 sure the MC Salmon sticks to you no dude I I get you know I get some messages already about it yeah

00:03:35.140 yeah did you see some people somebody suggested that we start marketing MFCEO Salmon shorts you know

00:03:41.700 what yeah you guys can all wear those things but I still get camo all right so what are we talking

00:03:48.400 about today well you know everybody always wants to know your take on things yeah books different

00:03:54.060 cultural phenomena and uh you seen that video that's gone gone around with uh Simon Sinek talking

00:04:00.580 about millennials in the workplace yes I did well basically yeah it is good it had a lot of really

00:04:05.620 good things to say you know what I honestly I don't agree with a lot of things that he says

00:04:11.100 but that was a great video it was um I also you know

00:04:17.880 I don't know some of the things he says are a little out there for me and I don't really agree

00:04:24.540 with them because they're not real world shit it's idealism and I'm not an idealist I'm a realist 0.98

00:04:29.040 so uh I can get down with some of the things he says but a lot of the shit he says you could tell 0.98

00:04:34.800 it's not coming from a place of reality it's coming from a place of what would be ideal but with that 0.78

00:04:40.460 being said I do like some of his stuff never met him personally I'm sure he's a cool dude uh but that

00:04:46.540 video was great it is great so uh we're gonna link it link to the video from the website the

00:04:51.640 mfceo.com but I basically I transcribed it and I broke it down and uh I'm gonna throw out some

00:04:58.320 key concepts that Simon Sinek talks about we're just gonna get Andy's take on it because this is

00:05:03.000 relevant to our audience I mean you get most of you guys listening are millennials frankly and then

00:05:08.180 those that aren't are gonna have to do business with millennials yep and I know uh it's a completely

00:05:12.980 different way of dealing with people right and I was going to bring up the point before we get

00:05:17.240 really into this is is that you I mean this is your life you hire a ton of millennials and have

00:05:22.440 done very successfully I would say with almost every single employee of ours right right so um

00:05:28.000 so let me just throw out so basically he starts out by saying that millennials are pretty much

00:05:32.680 anybody born 1984 or after and he says and I quote apparently they are tough to manage accused of

00:05:39.680 being entitled narcissistic self-interested unfocused lazy but entitled being the big one

00:05:45.120 and then he says uh because they confound leaders so much leaders are asking the millennials what do

00:05:51.880 you want and this is what they're finding out that they want they want a place of purpose they want

00:05:56.500 to work in a place of purpose they want to make an impact as Simon Sinek says whatever that means

00:06:01.740 and then they want free food and beanbags so I guess my first question in your experience is

00:06:07.120 what why do you think millennials in particular are so driven by this sense of purpose and

00:06:15.020 how do you as an employer how have you provided that sense of purpose well a lot of people will

00:06:22.360 read that and think it's a bad thing you know to be driven by purpose like a lot of business people

00:06:26.220 I would say you know like business people always say that um you know oh millennials are driven by

00:06:32.120 purpose and they kind of make fun of them or whatever but like I actually think it's cool that

00:06:35.380 they're driven by purpose because now with the way that business has evolved and we've talked about

00:06:40.820 this before you know if you're not driven by purpose if you're not driven by solving a problem

00:06:45.500 if you're not driven by something other than just making a dollar you're not going to make it anymore

00:06:49.000 because the the reaction speed of of feedback in terms of like what businesses uh you know how they

00:06:59.140 succeed and the word of mouth travels so quickly that if you're not actually legitimately trying to help

00:07:05.040 people or solve a problem or providing a great product that solves a problem you're not going

00:07:09.860 to be successful anymore so being driven by purpose is a great thing because that's what makes money

00:07:15.500 right yeah you know because most CEOs they want to make money um but the way you make money is by

00:07:21.280 solving a problem or getting behind a cause and and solving whatever problem is from that cause so I

00:07:27.940 mean I think that's a cool thing I think that if more people were driven by purpose they would make a lot

00:07:32.220 more money but why do you think that's a thing no no I'm gonna get to that okay so but I think the

00:07:38.800 reason that millennials are driven by purpose is not because they think it's going to make them money 0.99

00:07:44.460 I think it's quite the opposite I think a lot of them have grown up to hear their parents fucking 0.98

00:07:48.520 bitch about money or say evil people are rich or blah blah blah blah blah and they think that they're 0.99

00:07:53.600 doing a morally correct thing in terms of like oh I'm so driven by this higher purpose and they say it 0.99

00:08:00.140 but the funny thing is is they're getting money for it and they're making money because of it and 0.84

00:08:04.440 that's how you make money so really they're fucking pissing in their own pond and they don't even 0.98

00:08:08.140 fucking know it right you know which is fucking funny because to me it's like you're rebelling 0.99

00:08:11.980 against the man well a true leader would know how to use that to fucking make money anyway right so 0.99

00:08:16.720 you know dream being driven by purpose is great things and if you want to make money you should be 0.93

00:08:21.260 driven by purpose but those people are doing it out of spite of that culture right you know what I'm

00:08:25.620 saying yeah that makes sense so you know as a leader or a manager of those people you just got

00:08:30.400 to learn how to use it you know yeah you've got to bring bring the purpose of your business which

00:08:35.780 your business should have a fucking purpose to the forefront to motivate them instead of dollars you 0.52

00:08:40.700 know if you're selling tires you know you could apply this to anything that's why I use these basic 0.99

00:08:44.660 examples but if you're selling fucking tires and you're spiffing your dude 10 bucks a tire for every 0.97

00:08:50.620 tire he sells you know that's not going to motivate these people you know what's going to motivate 0.99

00:08:55.600 them you you showing them how to sell the safest tires that's going to get the family from here to

00:09:02.500 their family vacation with the least chance of getting injured and your job is so important

00:09:06.520 and you can't let these people down so you have to sell them the best tire for the job

00:09:10.500 right well the best tire for the job actually happens to also be the most expensive tire for the job 0.88

00:09:15.700 right you know but you as a manager you know how to fucking communicate that properly really it's 0.63

00:09:19.880 just a communication thing right you know so I mean because that that touches on the second 0.92

00:09:24.620 10 years ago you could tell somebody oh sell the most expensive amount of tires set of tires and

00:09:31.100 we'll give you the biggest commission and they would have sold it just for that you know but people

00:09:34.800 have changed and I think it's a good change I think it's a great change I think the reason most 1.00

00:09:38.900 business people have a hard time dealing with that is because they're too fucking stupid and stuck in 0.99

00:09:43.620 their old ways to realize how to communicate to these people I don't have a problem managing the 1.00

00:09:47.400 millennials that work here I have over 120 of them they kick ass we fucking dominate in everything 1.00

00:09:52.700 that we do and if we're not dominating yet we are going to because we are a purpose-driven brand 0.98

00:09:56.700 you know we're we are we put the people first we put people first and we put getting results first

00:10:02.140 and that's why we're successful that's a purpose you know what's the purpose of what we do dude all 0.96

00:10:07.240 kinds of things we get emails here every day about people losing 10 20 30 40 100 fucking pounds 0.95

00:10:12.500 coming off their antidepressants coming back from eating disorders learning healthy habits you know 0.91

00:10:19.040 uh getting themselves out of depression where they were suicidal before because they took care of

00:10:24.160 their bodies and they they got their confidence back and their self-esteem what is not purposeful

00:10:28.720 about that that's what makes our company so great and that's why our independent rep program

00:10:32.880 our legionnaire program that people can join you know to become a part of is so successful because

00:10:37.700 dude we have such a higher purpose here and we're customer focused in terms of solutions

00:10:42.360 so it's easy with what i do because that's an easy thing to get behind you know but most companies

00:10:47.960 will say like that's why i use the tire example they'll say oh well i sell tires i can't have a 0.99

00:10:53.080 purpose no you have a fucking purpose that's why you're in fucking business if you didn't have a 0.99

00:10:57.260 purpose you wouldn't be in business you've just got to figure out what that purpose is on a higher 1.00

00:11:01.860 level and communicate that to your people so they feel good about what the fuck they do you know 0.92

00:11:07.080 that's it you know it's not a bad thing it's a great thing i think it's right no i 0.98

00:11:12.300 agree with you and as i'm as i'm listening to you talk i realize that you know the first two

00:11:16.140 points they make were you know they're driven by a purpose and they also want to make an impact

00:11:19.680 and those things are basically interchangeable i've not been one to be very friendly towards

00:11:25.380 millennials because there is a lot of laziness and there is a lot of entitlement the millennials 1.00

00:11:30.120 listening right now they might be disagreeing with me on that statement some because they're not

00:11:34.860 like that because if you were like that you wouldn't be listening to this podcast but look around at your 0.95

00:11:39.920 friends at your fucking you know buddies who are if you're look at what they do they they don't work 0.99

00:11:45.720 like our forefathers worked they don't hustle balls they don't take pride in their work you know 0.99

00:11:51.060 like dude my family construction background they might not have made the most money but dude i could

00:11:55.600 tell you i drive down the street with my with my cousin or my dad and they could say i built that

00:12:00.920 house i built that house i built that house and they take pride in that statement you see what i'm

00:12:05.520 saying that's that's something that's not in our generation in this generation that we're talking

00:12:09.520 about the same way but i do think a big reason so so i will rip on the millennials from a couple 1.00

00:12:17.260 different standpoints and that's one of them and realize if you're listening and you're millennial

00:12:20.960 you're not one of these people you wouldn't be listening but i will say that a lot of the bad rep

00:12:26.580 that they get comes from people not understanding how to utilize them correctly in the workforce

00:12:30.620 you see what i'm saying so there's you know there's there's guys out there who say oh 0.94

00:12:36.020 millennials have so much potential and this and that and they're the fucking greatest like gary loves

00:12:40.400 this you know really what gary's doing is making a video for millennials to follow him so he's telling 0.97

00:12:45.940 people oh they're so fucking great and they're so this realize that gary's much smarter than any of 0.77

00:12:50.700 you and he is and he's making a video saying hey millennials are awesome so millennials will follow 0.97

00:12:55.680 him but i'm going to tell you right now he millennials are not fucking awesome okay they're 1.00

00:13:00.420 fucking they're really no different than any other generation other than they were raised during a 1.00

00:13:06.060 technology era where we were all raised during an industrial area you know what i mean in uh era and 0.99

00:13:12.800 and so you know i'm not going to sit there and make a video that says oh they're so great or oh they're 0.99

00:13:18.160 so shit if you're lazy you're lazy if you're fucking hard working you're hard working no matter what age 0.99

00:13:22.300 you are you know what i mean but i will tell you this if you're a millennial listening to this 1.00

00:13:25.960 podcast here's where the breakdowns are with millennials one they don't know how to communicate 0.99

00:13:31.020 properly they were raised on fucking video games on computer games on fucking tv on the internet they 0.99

00:13:36.160 don't know how to do basic human communication so you know doing learning things like how to how to 0.99

00:13:41.520 actually have an an conversation or build relationships that aren't awkward is a huge advantage to any

00:13:48.400 millennial listening right now if you're somebody who is in the millennial generation be thankful that

00:13:54.220 you are because most of the people around you are not going to work hard because they've been told they

00:13:58.840 were awesome they've been told they were special they've been told they were winners even when they

00:14:03.060 weren't winners and because of that they're going to lose right they're going to go out the world's 1.00

00:14:07.760 going to kick their fucking ass and they're going to get stomped on so if you're a millennial 0.99

00:14:11.980 if if you're a millennial and you're surrounded by these people who are not going to compete 1.00

00:14:17.160 because they get stomped on the first time and they quit you are at a huge advantage like dude the

00:14:21.800 millennials that want to work right now and build and create and build and make money and do things

00:14:26.760 those people are never it's never going to be easier for somebody in the history of earth to

00:14:31.180 become a millionaire or a multi-millionaire or even a billionaire because we have the technology

00:14:36.020 to communicate instantly we have all these things in our favor there's more money and there's less

00:14:41.640 uh i'm sorry there's more margin and there's less cost in almost every product out there right now

00:14:47.760 things are easy to get made uh information as it is at its highest availability but also its highest

00:14:54.160 value ever and you're compete you're competing with people that don't want to compete so your ability to

00:15:01.000 succeed is at an all-time high so you know while millennials you know generally have issues with

00:15:07.460 things that we talked about if you're a millennial that can correct and doesn't have those issues 0.99

00:15:11.720 when actually you know has the right mindset you're the kind of person that's going to fucking 0.96

00:15:15.080 dominate because like when i was competing everybody worked hard everybody was trying to succeed when 0.97

00:15:20.700 your dad was competing everybody was hustling everybody was trying to make a dollar now you have 1.00

00:15:25.420 these motherfuckers that don't think that money matters which is ridiculous because it fucking does 1.00

00:15:30.080 you know try to pay for your fucking bills with fucking sunshine and rainbows we all know it doesn't work 1.00

00:15:36.420 so if you're one of these people that can realize this now and you're fucking 17 18 19 your potential 0.99

00:15:41.980 is the most that it's ever been that's the bottom line and like i wish gary would say that in his 0.89

00:15:47.680 videos as opposed to saying they're all fucking awesome because really what you're doing is telling 0.97

00:15:51.060 them the same shit that they're fucking they've been told their whole lives absolutely i'm glad you 0.97

00:15:55.540 touched on the issue of social skills and relationship because we're going to touch on that later but real 1.00

00:15:59.160 quick going back so basically the first two points being driven by a sense of purpose second

00:16:04.200 wanted to make an impact the third one he said kind of tongue-in-cheek although also very serious

00:16:08.540 was they want uh free food and beanbags what i've noticed about the culture of first form is that

00:16:13.420 you you not only inculcate this this deep sense of purpose in your employees and this deep sense of

00:16:19.580 wanting to impact people's lives but there's also a lot of fun involved in that and so my question to

00:16:23.780 you is on a very practical level you're speaking to all the i just had this conversation this morning

00:16:28.180 real quick though just so my so so on a very practical level like what would you tell business

00:16:33.320 starters how do you what are the ground level steps to starting to build this kind of culture

00:16:39.460 win win win okay you do you ever see a winning team not having fun no you ever see a losing team

00:16:49.480 having fun no you ever see a losing team in sports have a good culture no you're seeing does every

00:16:55.120 single winning team have a great culture yeah absolutely exactly yeah it's winning okay you can't

00:17:02.260 manufacture it all right now the hard part is is how do you get people to believe in winning 0.96

00:17:09.080 before you're fucking winning that's where the fucking skill comes in all right but otherwise once 0.97

00:17:15.100 a culture is established if you're winning people are generally having fun if you're not winning it 0.99

00:17:20.960 sucks and that's that all right so we could talk about building a culture and that's an entirely

00:17:26.400 different subject we could talk about that for i could talk about that for 10 hours but i'll cut 0.90

00:17:31.400 it real short define your core values what the company stands for define your purpose all right

00:17:37.500 what's your company stand for you know we have our core values here we have things you know uh

00:17:44.580 that basically envelop everything that we stand for uh go the extra mile take initiative accept

00:17:51.420 responsibility you know blah blah blah blah blah bunch of different things and what we do is we

00:17:57.020 communicate in those terms you know when i'm coaching someone and they're not doing a good job i'm saying

00:18:03.320 okay you're not you're not correcting i'm i'm trying to explain to you and you're not listening to me

00:18:09.040 you're not being humble enough to learn from somebody who knows and you think your way is right you need

00:18:14.840 to be more humble and you're you're violating core value we live and die by those core values okay and i'm

00:18:21.440 giving you a rough example but we communicate in those terms and when you start to communicate in those

00:18:27.980 terms when you when you correct people or praise people the culture starts to live it starts to breathe

00:18:33.420 all right what happens is is that you know you that's the first step the second step is you've got to

00:18:39.780 define your goals and your purpose once you define and obviously the the strategic steps that need to be

00:18:46.940 taken to to you know accomplish whatever that goal or purpose is for the company once you start doing

00:18:54.880 that the second step and you start moving forward you have to celebrate the progress like hey look you

00:19:01.120 guys are doing this it's working we're moving forward eventually what happens is you start to 0.92

00:19:07.220 fucking win and when you win and i'm taking out all the practical uh tactical elements of this 0.91

00:19:14.700 conversation like that should be taken for a given like you've got to have a great product you've got 1.00

00:19:19.880 to care about your customers i'm not going to talk about all that shit because it would take forever 0.92

00:19:24.360 all right i'm you have to have a good product if you don't have a good product you don't have a 0.99

00:19:28.480 fucking business um but once you start to win what happens is and you're communicating in that culture 0.97

00:19:35.560 then you have a fucking culture that starts to really live and it's not it's not just something that 1.00

00:19:41.000 you talk about it's not the sign in your locker room in high school that you ran down the 0.99

00:19:44.560 steps and touched when you went out on the fucking field it's something that is real it becomes a 0.97

00:19:49.600 real living breathing part of your company and not only a part of your company but the most valuable 0.99

00:19:56.160 part of your company okay because what happens then is that your employees and people we call it a

00:20:02.980 family here because it is that start to care about the culture all right and that does a bunch of

00:20:07.860 different things one it keeps all the negativity and the negative culture aspects out so like so we 0.96

00:20:14.520 hire somebody and they're not a fit the fucking rest of the team will fucking filter it out instantly 1.00

00:20:19.420 and they'll be out so they start to protect the culture and then you know the culture comes into 0.99

00:20:24.960 you know everything that you do when you meet somebody when these guys leave and they meet somebody

00:20:29.240 they're a representative of our brand somebody connects with that person one-on-one or through email or

00:20:35.100 through social media they're like man i love what this dude's about that's the culture and then

00:20:39.760 that's what people are attracted to that's why people buy from you from your company you know and

00:20:44.060 culture is the most important thing you could ever have uh because it builds so many things and does

00:20:50.560 so many things for you automatically like it's that quote-unquote thing it's that thing that the

00:20:55.740 company has right you know what i mean right like i don't know what's different about that company

00:20:58.780 they just have it well your culture is it right you know right and um you know most business owners 0.94

00:21:06.000 have no fucking clue in order they care they don't even care they don't even know what culture means 0.98

00:21:10.620 like if you fucking wrote down uh if you asked most ceos what culture means and especially small 0.99

00:21:16.740 business owners they'd be like i don't know everybody seems to be like you know joking around 0.99

00:21:21.700 the water cooler having a fun time they don't fucking get it like it takes a time it takes huge amounts 0.90

00:21:28.560 of effort and time to instill a culture and to maintain it and to feed it and let it grow and 0.97

00:21:32.600 become its own thing but once it's its own thing it's a massive part of your business and that's what

00:21:37.600 makes you dominate your competition because most competition can't they can't develop culture

00:21:41.620 they don't know how and i will do a whole podcast on this because it's yeah way more important than

00:21:47.320 this five minute segment here but um you know when you when you have a good culture usually you know

00:21:53.920 once you get winning it's going to keep winning as long as you keep maintaining the culture by

00:21:58.300 winning and by communicating in those terms of core values uh and getting everybody to believe

00:22:06.340 and all those things and they start to steamroll and snowball and so like dude when you're winning

00:22:10.460 you have fucking fun you know like we don't have uh we don't have a set time when you have to be here 0.93

00:22:16.620 in the morning or when you fucking leave like dude people usually roll in here like eight o'clock 0.99

00:22:21.180 8 30 sometimes you know they don't roll in until fucking 9 30 or 9 45 you usually don't leave here 0.98

00:22:27.780 until fucking seven or eight or nine not because we make them it's because they like it here it's 0.98

00:22:32.120 fun and not because we have fucking bean bags that's what people don't get they think instilling 0.99

00:22:37.040 a culture is like oh guess what we like go to any small corporate business and they think like 0.99

00:22:42.640 having a culture is like having a cake in the fucking in the fucking kitchen room and having a 0.99

00:22:47.340 birthday party oh we celebrated joe's birthday that's culture no it's not oh we we put in these 1.00

00:22:53.220 special uh the special stress-free room with fucking squeezy balls and bean bags it's good 0.95

00:23:00.400 culture no that's not what makes culture that's not what makes a fun environment what makes a fun 0.99

00:23:05.840 environment is everybody learning everybody progressing everybody fucking becoming better 0.98

00:23:11.020 everybody succeeding and everybody having fun because we're fucking winning 0.94

00:23:15.200 and everybody understanding what the ultimate goal is inside the company because it's not like 0.92

00:23:20.220 we want to be here but we all have this goal in mind that we want to hit yeah well no so you want

00:23:25.060 to be here because you want to hit the goal kind of no i mean dude you're you're being these people 0.98

00:23:29.400 think that you're i know you're fuck what you're saying these people think you're being literal you're 0.99

00:23:33.380 not here till fucking eight o'clock last night because you because you fucking didn't want to be here 1.00

00:23:37.400 you want to be here because you want to fucking win yes and that's you know that's what that's what 0.99

00:23:42.600 drives having fun man you know i feel like what you're saying is so profound but also so 0.97

00:23:48.020 like no look every company out there trying to create this positive environment for millennials 1.00

00:23:52.900 you want to fucking build a company with millennials tell them how fucking bad they suck 1.00

00:23:57.120 when they suck and teach them how to be fucking great because when you teach these motherfuckers to 1.00

00:24:02.700 kick ass and be great and do shit that nobody else ever taught them guess who they look up to you 1.00

00:24:08.060 think about the high school coach that you had that you hated or the teacher that you fucking 1.00

00:24:12.720 hated because they were so hard and they but they taught you and they made you better and they molded 0.99

00:24:16.560 you and then all of a sudden 10 years later you look back you're like man that was the best fucking 0.89

00:24:20.320 teacher i ever had that was the best coach i ever had that's me you know i'm saying like dude i'm 1.00

00:24:25.440 tough as fuck on these motherfuckers i don't take no shit you know like dude i i but you know what when 1.00

00:24:31.540 they're doing good or we're not talking about business it's not like i walk through the office fucking 1.00

00:24:35.140 screaming at them all day like i bust their balls we have a good time we joke around but when it's 0.99

00:24:39.660 business time it's fucking business time you know what i'm saying right like that flight of the 1.00

00:24:44.100 concordes song you heard that business time you obviously have it because that was a fake ass laugh 0.99

00:24:50.840 no i haven't oh you know what i'm talking about because he was smiling i do well it seems to me like

00:24:56.340 the stuff that people think is actually wisdom in business like if you train business time well well

00:25:01.120 but i was saying is if you transferred it to anything else people would see the insanity of it it's

00:25:04.780 like can you imagine an nfl team going oh and 13 and the management thinking well but we're giving

00:25:09.780 them free food after practice you know what i'm saying what they think right no and they think this

00:25:14.140 oh you know uh it's going oh we went oh and 13 but we have a good culture no you don't a good

00:25:22.980 culture doesn't fucking lose right you know what i'm saying and you can't manufacture false culture i 0.98

00:25:28.160 see so many companies doing this shit to appease millennials like oh we're gonna take them out on a team 0.99

00:25:33.620 dinner oh we're gonna go ride go-karts oh we're gonna go to this or we're gonna go to that or we're 0.97

00:25:38.120 gonna do a special event like dude people look at us and they think they try to replicate our culture 0.98

00:25:42.480 and they try to think that like you know oh they're gonna because we go shoot guns and do shit together 0.52

00:25:46.880 and people see it online and they're like oh well if we take our employees out and do the same things 0.99

00:25:51.660 we'll have the same culture no motherfucker you'll never have the same culture you know why because 0.99

00:25:55.060 you're not me right that culture starts at the fucking top and it flows all the way down 1.00

00:25:59.500 and we only get to do that shit because we're winning exactly right yeah i'm taking you guys 0.99

00:26:03.280 do shit if you fucking lose right right that's rule number one i don't celebrate losing you know 0.99

00:26:08.980 what i mean and dude people have a backwards they think if they they think if someone's losing and 1.00

00:26:14.260 they baby enough and they're friendly enough and they become friends with them that all of a sudden

00:26:17.540 that person's gonna love being there no people want to fucking win man it's an innate feeling in our 0.94

00:26:23.040 hearts i don't care how old somebody is i don't care if they're millennials i don't care what 0.97

00:26:27.780 generation they come from if they're winning they're gonna have fun so teach them how to 0.98

00:26:32.860 fucking win and they'll respect you for it and they'll perform for it and they'll be loyal for it 0.96

00:26:37.400 that's what culture is about so we could stop now and this podcast would be worth every penny that you 0.99

00:26:44.440 pay for it and more but uh let's move on yeah what's that which is zero right exactly so i know you just

00:26:50.880 got it's not free i know you just got fucking content i know because i know how few people actually 0.98

00:26:56.920 know what i just said that that deserves for you guys to share the podcast absolutely bring us a

00:27:03.700 friend but guess what because you guys are such special friends of ours we're gonna keep going 0.71

00:27:09.040 with this podcast right exactly we're gonna lay down some extra shit because you know what i feel 0.97

00:27:13.420 like laying down some extra shit yeah can you feel the energy bond i can feel it it's all because i 0.99

00:27:18.260 listen to crazy train hairs that aren't on your head standing up on end you laughing at salmon shorts 0.99

00:27:24.760 all right so i think half the podcast value is me making fun of you guys i think it is

00:27:31.180 you know when i get a little bit more comfortable i'll make fun of you but dude there's nothing to

00:27:35.080 make fun what you make fun of oh there's nothing to make fun moving right along look at this

00:27:38.700 awesome beard it's true svelte muscles maybe a year ago there might have been a few things to make 0.87

00:27:45.460 holy shit we already see how long feels about overweight people no kidding even tyler didn't 0.88

00:27:52.180 cross that line that's true people hair shame me all the time i can i can fat shame right can i 0.99

00:27:57.160 i don't know i think fat shaming is out man yeah i think it is i think you're right okay so moving

00:28:01.700 right along so part two of cynics videos he basically establishes you know the orientation of millennials and

00:28:07.040 then he says he says the thing is that employees provide all this stuff and yet for some reason

00:28:12.300 their millennial employees are still not happy and that's because because what you said right 1.00

00:28:17.440 because of that but he also he identifies four pieces parenting technology impatience and environment 0.89

00:28:22.680 those are the causes right so i just gave you the fucking answers you did you did so but i i would 0.99

00:28:28.700 love to hear what you say to this he says okay so point number one he makes is parenting and he says 0.99

00:28:34.020 and i'm not going to read the whole thing but i'll just summarize parents are pussies he says too many 0.99

00:28:37.540 millennials grew up subjected to failed parenting strategies he says they were told that they were 0.99

00:28:42.340 special all the time they were told they could have anything they wanted just because they wanted

00:28:46.540 some of them got honors classes not because they deserved it because but because their parents

00:28:50.360 complained some of them got a's not because they earned it but because they didn't want to deal with

00:28:54.460 because the teachers didn't want to deal with parents some kids got participation medals a medal for

00:28:59.580 coming in last and he says the science is pretty clear it devalues the medal for the award

00:29:05.240 for those who worked hard and it also makes the young person who came in last feel embarrassed

00:29:10.480 because they didn't deserve it so actually they feel worse so he draws all this together and he says

00:29:16.620 so this is how people were raised and they go out in the world and in an instant they discover

00:29:22.360 that's not how the world works hey man and he says it actually ends up doing the exact opposite of what

00:29:28.660 what it was supposed to 100 they go out thinking they're special falling flat on their face and then

00:29:35.220 end up having worse self-esteem than what i know i've got a soundbite somewhere about this like 0.99

00:29:39.140 where the white where you go out in the world and the world steps on your fucking throat 0.99

00:29:42.020 i i know i said this before right right like dude that's what i said in the beginning of the podcast 0.99

00:29:47.720 you're you're fucking an idealist this is an idealist strategy we're gonna it's it's a it's it's 0.97

00:29:53.900 working in the wrong direction right the idealist strategy is this we need to make everybody feel 0.99

00:29:58.560 good about themselves and we need to make them feel special and we need to make tell them how great

00:30:01.920 they are and if they would tell them that enough times they'll feel fucking great and they'll be

00:30:06.020 successful and they'll be happy and live happy happily ever after that's not correct the reason

00:30:12.560 people feel great is because they learn the skills to overcome and achieve and actually do things that

00:30:20.160 are of value to them through actual winning which builds confidence which makes them feel great which

00:30:28.640 gives them the tools to go out in the world and kick ass so it's something that is done from a 0.99

00:30:35.300 backwards point of view for people designed by people who are too fucking lazy or uninformed or 0.98

00:30:44.580 uneducated to go out and teach their kids the proper skills which is the whole point of the book 0.97

00:30:50.740 that we did was to fucking fix this failed parenting strategy otis and charlie yes yeah yeah okay 0.98

00:30:57.500 but you you could tell somebody they're great all you want it does for a million fucking years but 0.99

00:31:06.920 you put them in the real world and the real world is gonna shit right on their face the first day the 1.00

00:31:12.160 first day you go to fucking work and you sit down in your job and you're you know you fucking kick your 1.00

00:31:17.140 feet up on the desk and think you're the ceo because you want to be the ceo what's gonna happen 0.99

00:31:21.360 you're gonna get fucking fired that's reality so we could talk about you know people just don't 0.98

00:31:28.040 appreciate reality vaughn like they used to you know what i mean like dude i can remember my dad 0.99

00:31:32.180 being like like literally like my dad like i was a fat kid and i like to fucking eat all right so my 0.94

00:31:37.500 dad knew that all right so when when when i would get mad at my dad for staying at fucking work like 0.96

00:31:44.340 i'd be like dad you're late we gotta you know i want to go do this or i want to do that he'd be like look 0.96

00:31:48.700 do you want to fucking eat or not and that got the point across because number one i like to 0.98

00:31:54.380 fucking eat and i want to eat but number two there ain't no money i don't fucking eat so dad you go 0.99

00:31:59.680 ahead and stay at work but i want to eat when you get home you know i'm saying yeah yeah it makes 0.99

00:32:04.520 total sense dude parents don't fucking get it man and it's not even really their fault because 0.91

00:32:10.860 they're told by the quote-unquote experts that this is the politically correct way absolutely to 0.98

00:32:15.660 fucking do it absolutely you know what i mean like so like if you're a parent and you're thinking oh 0.82

00:32:19.780 i've raised my kid this way dude you know what you know it was wrong when you did it you were just 1.00

00:32:24.580 trying to do the right thing because you were listening to fucking whoever on monday morning 0.99

00:32:28.860 america or whatever the fuck show is you know now and you did what they said well guess what they're 0.99

00:32:33.980 not a fucking expert you know what an expert is an expert is a parent who actually raised two kids 1.00

00:32:38.740 that win go find that fucking parent go find my mom or my dad who have fucking two kids that are 1.00

00:32:45.180 both high achiever high income earners high philanthropists okay and basically all around 0.99

00:32:50.200 awesome dudes if i don't say so myself absolutely you know what i mean yeah you know but i'm saying

00:32:55.400 go find parents that did that and what you'll find the same things they had they they instilled all

00:33:00.760 the same principles so my question is clearly you agree with him that there's a breakdown in parenting

00:33:05.420 so if you were gonna if you were gonna take literally the whole millennial generation of

00:33:10.040 parents together and say listen guys i'll put my island burn it it's not a bad idea okay it would

00:33:16.380 fix the culture and and maybe we have to burn the next generation too okay so if you gave them we're 0.99

00:33:20.960 gonna get some email one you believe in fucking genocide no parent aside no it would be uh generation 0.98

00:33:27.420 side generation side yeah but seriously if you gave them one concrete one concrete pro tip 0.99

00:33:35.120 guys if you want to start correcting your bad parenting strategy buy buy andy for sell his book 0.82

00:33:41.220 it that's a good well that is i'm not kidding no i've got a fucking shitload of emails i'm talking 0.95

00:33:45.980 like over a hundred emails yeah from parents in less than two weeks time who have all said the same

00:33:51.820 thing uh it said i'll read this one to you it's really cool man while you're looking that up i just

00:33:57.460 want to tell everybody i got it right here vaughn well let me tell people already that guys we're

00:34:02.220 burning through the first printing run some of you have said when's the next book coming out uh

00:34:07.120 it's coming out soon uh yeah people people are already wanting to buy the other the next books

00:34:11.420 which is fucking great yeah dude so on that note can i just tell people a lot of you guys have bought 0.62

00:34:16.160 it you're giving us great feedback but amazon reviews are really helpful yeah leave an amazon review 0.94

00:34:22.340 so if you can uh especially especially the highest rated one yeah like five star yeah everyone yeah so 0.90

00:34:28.620 if everyone doesn't get five star i'm coming to take your book motherfucker so this this put this guy 0.99

00:34:35.020 posts um nathan plans on instagram posts he said so i read this book to owen the other night man was i 0.97

00:34:42.040 impressed at how my son actually got and understood the message of the book well done vaughn and andy

00:34:48.080 i definitely recommend this book to any parent i have had 100 plus emails slash posts exactly like

00:34:55.380 that like people are talking to their kids in the terms of otis and charlie and they're their mind is

00:35:03.100 fucking blown that these little bitty kids this kid's probably two three are understanding the 0.99

00:35:09.820 concepts guess what people they're little fucking humans they understand shit okay you just got to talk 1.00

00:35:16.180 to them instead of putting fucking barney on and not raising your fucking kid and sticking them in front 1.00

00:35:20.980 of a fucking video game how about you read them a book on values and you have to work to earn shit 1.00

00:35:26.340 and all the things that are going to help them through the course of their life when they're little 1.00

00:35:30.280 so that when they get big they can fucking succeed telling them oh little owen you're going to be 0.98

00:35:36.900 the best fucking human ever because you're my human is not going to help him you know what i'm saying 0.99

00:35:43.640 absolutely like you could tell people all you want how great they are i've got some fucking if i have a 0.99

00:35:49.060 shitty employee in here and i go to his desk every day and say oh tyler you're so great every day when 0.99

00:35:54.920 he sucks who am i hurting i'm hurting him i'm hurting his fucking family or his future family i'm hurting 1.00

00:36:01.080 the company i'm hurting all the people that work at the company because i'm holding it back because 1.00

00:36:05.260 he's not being able to do his job you know what i mean to prepare your kids from the early age man

00:36:10.180 they get it they understand it you've just got to put the effort in and and we've talked about this

00:36:15.100 before but this is a fundamental misunderstanding of what it means to truly love and care about

00:36:20.420 yes people think being a fundamental leadership people think leadership and when you're a parent 0.80

00:36:25.560 guess what you're fucking leader they think leadership is hugging and kissing and being nice 0.88

00:36:31.080 that's not leadership dude part of leadership is celebrating wins where you get to hug and kiss and 1.00

00:36:36.580 be nice but the other part of leadership is teaching them and the third part of leadership is 0.69

00:36:41.680 identifying when they do wrong shit and correcting them on it and people forget those other two they 0.99

00:36:46.800 just want to do the fucking glory shit you know and no matter how much you do dude you want your 0.99

00:36:51.260 kids to hate you keep raising them like people have been raised for the last fucking 20 years 1.00

00:36:55.460 your kids will fucking hate you they'll say my parent was worthless they didn't do anything for 1.00

00:36:59.280 me they didn't teach me anything you know how many people that work in my company that i've had 1.00

00:37:02.580 tell me like dude my dad never taught me anything he never taught me anything he taught me he taught

00:37:08.540 me a little bit but dude i've learned so much more here you know dude it's sad you know like and i hate 0.95

00:37:13.960 to say that i'm not going to say any names but like dude you know that's sad because i'm a fucking i see 0.99

00:37:19.680 these dudes a little bit of time like you saw them for 20 fucking years you know and you probably told 0.92

00:37:24.640 them how perfect they were it is it's a it's when you have a good dad it's something that you take for 0.97

00:37:30.820 granted but you forget that some people just don't dude a lot of people don't so cynic goes

00:37:36.580 on to say and he said the other thing that compounds things is that we're in a facebook and instagram

00:37:41.940 world and we're good at putting filters on things and showing people that life is amazing all the time

00:37:48.120 even though people are depressed so everybody seems tough they seem to have it all figured out but they

00:37:53.320 really aren't and so what he's saying is in addition to the fact that you know they've been not prepared

00:37:58.020 for the world and they're being smacked around they're also in a world that acts like everything's

00:38:02.180 okay and and life should be amazing all the time and you talk a lot about this in one of our earlier

00:38:07.840 podcast episodes in living your passion isn't rainbows and unicorns and you talked about how people have

00:38:14.000 very weird expectations that if you pursue the life you love that means every day is just going to be

00:38:19.800 awesome and cynic says that's part of the problem with millennials they don't understand

00:38:23.780 well dude like that again they've been raised by people who like to paint a picture that is ideal 1.00

00:38:30.660 not real there's a big difference you know reality is you're gonna get punched in the fucking mouth 0.99

00:38:36.940 idealism is is that you you know you're you so you could be anything you want and you don't face any 0.99

00:38:43.280 resistance along the way and you know the people who are taught idealism never succeed because the first

00:38:50.480 time they do get punched in the face which is reality they quit and then they they pout they 0.97

00:38:56.000 stomp their feet or they shoot up a fucking school you know right and like that's the problem right now 0.98

00:39:00.540 it's it's failed parenting strategies just this i think one of the reasons that people have 0.99

00:39:06.980 resonated so much with this podcast is that as active on social media as you are in facebook and

00:39:13.140 instagram there is a reality to your posts and your personal brand that i think people were hungry for 0.97

00:39:19.100 that you when you have a crappy day you just say it i mean let's be fucking real like most of these 0.99

00:39:23.680 motherfuckers out there with the exception of a couple aren't even real business owners they're 1.00

00:39:28.000 dudes who make their money off selling fucking info products and they haven't had the experience to 1.00

00:39:32.760 speak on the things that i speak about and people know that when they listen because they know in 0.98

00:39:37.440 their heart who's the real deal and who isn't gary v runs a real company i run a real company a lot of 0.99

00:39:43.740 other motherfuckers don't run shit they run a social media account and collect money for it 1.00

00:39:47.860 so first of all yeah it's a lot more real than most fucking people okay second of all um i hate 1.00

00:39:56.140 people who are lazy and so i'm extremely aggressive in the way i present myself i'm also a direct 0.99

00:40:01.800 communicator i don't have time for your fucking emotions and nor do i give a fuck because that's 0.99

00:40:06.380 not my job my job is to get you to perform so i'm gonna tell you exactly what you need to do to 0.99

00:40:11.080 perform without cutting any fluff or any pats on the ass because you know what people who need pats 0.98

00:40:17.000 on the ass are people who i don't need to waste my time with you know what i mean so i don't know 0.99

00:40:22.240 why people resonate with with this podcast other than you know they're they know in their heart 0.99

00:40:29.200 what's bullshit and what's not you know and they know like when you put something real next to a 0.95

00:40:34.760 bunch of shit that ain't real the real shit stands out and i think that's probably why people you know i 0.99

00:40:41.000 don't know no i i agree but i think it goes beyond just your your actual expertise in business i think 1.00

00:40:46.200 that in especially in the success and motivation space where everything is rainbows and unicorns and

00:40:53.040 you can have your best possible life every moment of the day is that you have taken time you've told

00:40:58.040 the story of getting stabbed what that did to you you've told the story of struggling with chronic 0.91

00:41:02.400 depression sometime not chronic but you know yeah depression 20 years is fucking chronic well yeah yeah 0.67

00:41:06.980 okay so so i think it's insane that people need to have somebody validate this but just to have 0.72

00:41:14.200 somebody come out and say you know what you you can you can live the best possible life but you're

00:41:19.240 still gonna have days that suck period dude it's part of life it is you know and telling somebody it 0.54

00:41:26.840 isn't is doing them a disservice right for their entire life because when they have the bad days

00:41:31.220 that's whenever they think there's something wrong with them right they think oh man you know i'm not as 0.80

00:41:35.840 good as this person because they never have a bad fucking day right you know and like i'm even 0.96

00:41:39.660 guilty of it like i don't post on my instagram or my fucking facebook and say oh i had a terrible 0.97

00:41:43.800 day today because i'm not gonna whine about it but you know let's say there there is days where i go 0.84

00:41:48.800 two or three four days without posting guess what those aren't great days for me right you see 0.53

00:41:53.100 i'm saying right so read between the fucking lines i might not vocalize it but like if i'm not 0.96

00:41:58.760 communicating that way it's probably because i'm not having a good time right the silence speaks it 0.92

00:42:03.540 should speak for itself yeah yeah exactly no okay so for the sake of time i would encourage you to

00:42:08.720 let your silence speak volumes too because putting it out there for everybody to read is just a bad

00:42:14.280 bad bad move because once it's out there you can never take it back and you don't want people's 0.98

00:42:20.200 perception of you to be a whiner crybaby little bitch right you know because dude that's gonna affect 1.00

00:42:24.920 your income at some point right you know we're getting to the point now where you go to get a job the 0.99

00:42:28.420 first thing i do is go to their fucking facebook page they got a bunch of negative posts i'm not 0.98

00:42:32.280 fucking hiring them absolutely period i don't care how good i think they are yeah i've been telling 0.99

00:42:37.280 people for a long time there's a huge difference between being transparent and being vulnerable 0.99

00:42:41.120 there was this it's kind of in vogue to be vulnerable online and people pour out like all

00:42:45.740 their dirty laundry and they go people make shit up to be to pretend you're right but i say i say to 0.77

00:42:50.580 people don't do that i mean there's a difference between just being honest and saying yeah today wasn't 0.98

00:42:54.760 great but it's okay you know and then going into melodramatic explanations about all of your

00:42:59.740 deep-seated i don't think either one of them have a place on social media to some extent being

00:43:04.700 vulnerable well not being well that's what i'm saying because if you say look if you say like

00:43:09.320 like if i were to say on social media like hey guys you know and this is the truth like hey guys i know

00:43:15.480 you guys all look up to me you know but the truth is i don't know everything sometimes i make mistakes

00:43:20.200 sometimes i say things that aren't you know true in the in hindsight because i thought they were true at

00:43:26.040 moment i went on later to find out they weren't true so you should take every piece of information

00:43:29.880 that you get with a grain of salt you know and think about it for yourself and use it yourself 0.97

00:43:34.320 that's being vulnerable because it's saying look i don't have to know everything because i fucking 0.98

00:43:38.640 don't right anybody acts like they do which there is some people out there that do pretend that way 0.97

00:43:43.420 right they're they're full shit right you know right so that i think that's that kind of thing is 0.54

00:43:49.140 okay yeah and that's what i call transparency to me vulnerable is to me vulnerable is like sharing your 0.99

00:43:54.880 deepest darkest like there was i don't i'm not gonna get into it but there was like this trend

00:43:58.560 where everybody was sharing their videos of all their vulnerability and it was supposed to build

00:44:02.460 community i'm like are you kidding me like you're gonna you're gonna just open yourself up on social

00:44:07.120 media not only are you giving first of all you're gonna be you're gonna you're gonna become what you

00:44:12.120 fucking surround yourself right and if you surround yourself with a bunch of pity and vulnerability all 0.71

00:44:16.500 the time that's what you're gonna be yeah so let it be a part of your life that you don't 0.99

00:44:20.500 fucking necessarily need to share with everybody right which actually leads to the next point which

00:44:24.640 is that that in tech people do that because they because other people like it and they get addicted 0.96

00:44:30.000 to the attention you know what i'm saying so like exactly so like there's i was reading on you know

00:44:35.520 it's like it's like this whole body image acceptance movement out there all right and people are 0.85

00:44:41.840 like oh you know i love my body and i love this and i love that and they're 400 fucking pounds right 0.88

00:44:46.480 all right look bro you know this is beyond you being comfortable and loving yourself this is a 1.00

00:44:51.380 health thing you're gonna be fucking dead you know what i mean but people post that shit and other 1.00

00:44:55.240 people are like oh you're so brave you're so this so that so they keep doing it and then guess what 1.00

00:45:00.220 they never fix their health they never take care of themselves they never get to a point where you 0.75

00:45:04.400 know they're healthy and they fucking die okay what's good about that you see what i'm saying right 0.97

00:45:09.380 like dude it's just people get addicted and sucked into these things without even 0.93

00:45:16.280 realizing it because of that right no absolutely and and and to his point like dude you should be

00:45:22.500 using your your your vulnerabilities and your your things that are weak about you to overcome and then

00:45:28.700 tell a story of how you overcame it later exactly you know what i mean exactly not today you know how 0.93

00:45:33.620 you accept how fucking imperfect you are everybody's imperfect but the millennial i you i like the fact 0.98

00:45:39.560 that you use the word addicted because according to cynic and i would agree with this the the millennial 0.99

00:45:43.560 generation in particular and there are certainly those outside the millennial generation who who

00:45:47.840 suffer from this they're addicted to social media and they think that likes and and follows is the

00:45:55.280 equivalent of significant relationships and it's not and cynic says the problem is and he actually says

00:46:00.380 that this is not something he's coming this is in the old they're the only the millennials have said

00:46:05.880 this themselves that they don't even know how to have real deep meaningful friendships or 0.97

00:46:10.240 relationships so they're basically you're gonna have fucking deep friendship relationship your head 0.99

00:46:14.480 stuck to your motherfucking phone all the time right right i mean if you literally try to talk somebody 0.99

00:46:18.880 who's 19 years old right now it's fucking impossible right they don't know shit about anything they don't 1.00

00:46:24.560 know they don't know what's going on they don't know anything about anything productive they don't 1.00

00:46:28.700 know you know the only thing they know is fucking facebook and instagram right fucking who's get the 0.99

00:46:33.460 most snapchat views right you know and like dude that's not real skill you know real skill is providing 0.99

00:46:39.340 value through those tools right like what i do or what some of these other guys do so here's so

00:46:44.980 like dude the point that's what i was saying before if you can learn to have actual relationships and 0.97

00:46:49.700 communicate and be a real human and you're in this generation you're at a tremendous fucking 0.98

00:46:54.900 advantage because most people are zombies right so here's a big million dollar question though 0.98

00:47:01.280 in your personal and your professional life you're obviously very active in social media got half a

00:47:08.260 million social media followers on instagram and rising but you walk into s2 or or first form

00:47:15.300 headquarters and it's clear to me that there are meaningful relationships that are part of the

00:47:21.080 culture friendships like you guys are simpatico so how have you managed to to to maintain that balance

00:47:30.120 of yeah you got to be active you know as a as a as a personal brand and as a business you got to be

00:47:34.780 active on social media you also have to you have you also have to focus on people who are actually

00:47:41.360 in your presence and build those relationships how what what are the pro tips i guess i would say

00:47:47.300 you give people for making that balance achieving that balance well i mean dude most people live a 0.99

00:47:54.360 most people live 80 percent 90 percent of their lives on the internet they're on their phone fucking 0.97

00:48:00.160 seven eight hours a day for real seven eight hours a day on the fucking internet like like i live on 0.99

00:48:05.620 the internet because i'm visible there and people see me but my total time on the internet is probably 0.99

00:48:10.300 an hour a day the rest of the time i'm fucking dealing with real shit right you see what i'm saying 0.95

00:48:15.480 right so what you know if i'm just because i'm on my phone i'm talking about social media i guess not 0.97

00:48:23.320 not the internet so right right when i'm on my phone outside of social media i'm usually like

00:48:29.180 looking at ebay and dupont registry and jets and watches cool shit like that yeah you know uh 0.96

00:48:37.460 but i don't live in the social media world like the social media world is fucking ridiculous right like 0.95

00:48:43.620 it's just a tool for me do you think people who are building their personal brand think they have 0.80

00:48:49.480 to spend 24 hours a day i heard it today man i talked somebody my brother was talking to somebody

00:48:55.640 last night who was like oh i'm trying to build my personal brand it's take you know how much time 0.98

00:48:59.760 it takes i have a real job i have a blah blah blah blah bro it takes less than a fucking hour a day 0.99

00:49:04.500 yeah you know you're talking about making one or two posts a day and interacting for a little bit 0.98

00:49:08.820 of time with your audience that doesn't take shit right like that's that people act like that's a 0.97

00:49:14.740 fucking monumental task it should take you less than an hour a day to do that right you 0.98

00:49:19.420 know what i mean if you're doing it for more than an hour a day there's something wrong with you 0.98

00:49:23.840 you're not doing it right yeah you know i don't i mean i don't know yeah like i agree and i think i

00:49:32.420 think i've heard from a number of people well what if you think the rock spends more than an hour a day

00:49:36.420 on social media no no shit no and i do i do appreciate what gary said a while back where his issue 0.64

00:49:41.460 with a lot of the personal trainers is that they're all building their personal brand but they're not 0.64

00:49:45.440 building their business and i thought that that was a pretty well insightful i would tell you

00:49:49.680 something he said you know like i clearly i you know you guys know i don't agree with everything

00:49:53.880 he says all the time i mean but there are things that he says i think are awesome and one of the

00:49:59.980 things i think that he said that was awesome about social media was that it should be documentation

00:50:05.280 um instead of instead of like planning it out like he's trying to say like he had a word for

00:50:12.480 he said document not fucking something and like dude social media if you want to build an interesting 0.93

00:50:19.520 account or an interesting brand should be documentation of your real life not this planned 0.98

00:50:24.200 out fucking you know fake image of yourself which is what everybody tries to make sense it makes sense 0.92

00:50:30.360 it doesn't have to be the perfect post doesn't have to be the perfect saying it doesn't be the 0.99

00:50:33.520 perfect rant as he says it could just needs to be your life and you know i think that's where 0.97

00:50:40.260 people fuck up is they try to they spend so much time trying to be perfect that it sucks their time 1.00

00:50:44.520 up well it's not hard to you know look at dane balzerian he's the perfect example he's a fucking 0.99

00:50:49.820 got one of the biggest social media accounts in the world and and for all intents and purposes he's a 0.53

00:50:53.860 normal fucking dude i mean does he have some money yeah but he the reason he's he's so popular on 0.96

00:50:59.200 instagram is because he documents his fucking life and his life just happens to be interesting 1.00

00:51:02.840 he'll love him or hate him the guy lives a unique life he lives a life like no other fucking person 1.00

00:51:07.880 in the fucking world and he takes pictures of it and you know if you want to be successful on social 0.99

00:51:13.440 media you know what you should do live a more interesting real world life take pictures of it 0.99

00:51:18.000 so i'm saying yeah that's so it's just like what i said they're trying they're trying to to they're

00:51:24.920 trying to create something the backwards way like when i was talking about trying to create the

00:51:28.880 culture by trying to like make everybody feel good and make everybody feel special and take them 0.56

00:51:33.420 out to dinners and have team events and team team building events fucking throw the string of yarn 1.00

00:51:38.280 around the room and everybody creates a web you know like dude that shit's fucking stupid right that's 1.00

00:51:44.080 not what creates culture what creates culture is actually going out learning the skills winning 1.00

00:51:47.840 and then you know doing the things we talked about social media is no different you want to be 0.95

00:51:52.460 successful in social media document your fucking life and make your life interesting which means spend more 0.88

00:51:57.560 time on your life than what you do on social media and then your social media will grow see what i 1.00

00:52:02.480 mean there are a lot of really good sound bites from this episode yeah well dude my fucking my fucking 0.99

00:52:06.260 life is my life like people think oh you post a picture of your lambo you're showing off bro i drove my 0.99

00:52:11.420 lambo today to fucking work yeah in the fucking snow i thought that was funny so i took a picture and i posted 0.99

00:52:17.440 it it's my life i document my life people think it's funny they fucking you know i we do the podcast i say 0.99

00:52:24.820 some fucking sound bites i yell at some people people laugh or they fucking get mad or they 0.99

00:52:29.640 fucking love it and they follow me but that's still my real life i'm doing fucking podcast right 0.99

00:52:34.360 you know right it's it's not manufactured shit right and the biggest the biggest way you can be 0.99

00:52:41.320 relevant in the social media world is be relevant in the real world right not the other way around 0.94

00:52:47.080 makes total sense well yeah look at all the instagram celebrities right you know i'm saying like they put 0.81

00:52:53.120 all this time and all this effort and all this shit how much easier is it for somebody like the 0.86

00:52:57.140 rock to build a social media thought you think the rock is spending seven hours a day working out 0.99

00:53:01.460 shares with other people and share for share and you know all these different no he's fucking relevant 0.94

00:53:06.640 because he's the fucking rock you know you want to that's the most social traction you can get is to 0.86

00:53:12.180 be be interesting in real life right does that make sense it makes total sense yeah it also makes sense 0.98

00:53:18.800 why i mean i even i need to do some more cool shit well you do and you need to bring me with 0.70

00:53:23.460 you and tyler and we need i bring tyler with me i just don't bring you i know never mind you just

00:53:29.640 need to bring me with you if i because it'll be more interesting yeah i think that's what he's

00:53:34.060 implying the most interesting man in the world exactly of the three of us easily easily the most

00:53:38.800 multi-layered uh anyway so okay before we go to the last part point uh social media contacts

00:53:45.480 at andy frisella uh guys if you're not following us on social you're missing half the content because

00:53:51.280 i post as much content on social as i do on this podcast like a lot of people because i could tell 0.99

00:53:57.060 that how many fucking listeners we get versus my social following that a lot of you motherfuckers 1.00

00:54:02.160 aren't following me if you're not following me on instagram at least you're missing out on half the 0.99

00:54:05.700 content because half of the shit i mean this podcast was born from instagram content right you know 0.97

00:54:11.540 you're getting daily shit on instagram you get weekly shit here and there's stuff that you're 0.93

00:54:15.320 going to get in the podcast you're not going to get on the post and there's stuff in the post you're 0.97

00:54:18.440 not going to get yeah so if you're not following me on instagram or if you don't have an instagram 0.86

00:54:21.840 make a fucking instagram follow andy frisella follow vaughn the impaler no not vaughn the impaler 0.96

00:54:28.860 that should be your name i know well i own that one but it's at vaughn v-a-u-g-h-n-k-o-h-l-e-r by the way 0.99

00:54:34.700 andy is mfceo-1 on snapchat i'm vaughn kohler on pretty much everything tyler is at my tyler m-a-i underscore t-y-l-e-r and you

00:54:44.660 know what i have a very important tyler's gonna change it though to mc salmon yes he is i have a

00:54:49.540 very important just like game changing announcement okay i would like to start a new you know there's

00:54:55.780 nothing worse than an overhyper i know i know but this one's big you know this one's big so as of

00:55:01.460 today i am starting a new a new tradition are you coming out no this is a big announcement you got

00:56:25.520 cigar industry no no no not that guy no i gotta do it i've already i've already committed to it 0.98

00:56:30.940 i'm just kidding okay i don't know but anyway dan you're gonna get that guy's like what the fuck 0.89

00:56:35.780 i'm like making mental notes on where i gotta cut and edit this part no no dan's gonna get a free 0.99

00:56:41.460 audio book from audio audible.com i'm sure you're an awesome dude yes yes busting your balls so 0.72

00:56:46.840 and this is this is this is this is gonna blow your mind ready so he's gonna get the prize 0.99

00:56:51.740 mind ready to be because dan isn't just killing it he's impaling it oh damn drop the mic son so 0.98

00:57:01.660 dan you have to you have to claim your prize by actually contacting me to take his mic off the 0.99

00:57:07.180 stand so he can drop it he's not just killing it he's impaling it he's been waiting a fucking 0.99

00:57:13.100 week to say that dude i am that should be our that should be our new hashtag instead of kill it 0.97

00:57:18.340 it should be impaling i like it i like it so anyway no i mean you know what our our i was

00:57:24.640 thinking about how we could give back to our listeners and i you know why not okay so cool 0.95

00:57:28.920 with it i'm glad you're up i'm glad you proved it i'm just busting your balls i know you are 0.98

00:57:32.280 so uh anyway it was a bad idea though i would have told you no i know i know you would have edited it 0.70

00:57:36.960 out okay so final point which is not going to be a surprising one um he says fourth issue with

00:57:44.960 millennials is impatience they have grown up in a world of instant gratification order movies on 1.00

00:57:50.340 netflix they don't they don't need to check movie times they just order movies whenever they want

00:57:54.840 um and so they expect that job satisfaction relationship satisfaction well there's no app

00:58:02.160 for that i just want it right away and so what he's finding is that there's people who start a job

00:58:08.400 and then they tell their boss well i'm leaving well why not why are you leaving

00:58:12.740 well because i didn't make an impact well how long have you been here three months

00:58:16.180 so how do you feel like this issue of impatience like i assume you agree with him let's let's

00:58:24.020 let's back this up just a little bit

00:58:26.980 the world is an instant gratification world correct right all right we text we make cell phone calls 0.83

00:58:36.860 we order shit on amazon it's there the next day we um you know we have an order movie and it comes on 0.86

00:58:47.880 immediately all right all these things didn't exist when we were kids correct right all right so how much 0.97

00:58:54.440 of is the millennials fault is it that they expect that when the whole world that they've grown up in

00:59:02.820 is based around that what if you and i had grown up in a world based around those things don't you

00:59:07.680 think we would be more impatient yeah okay absolutely i'm saying yeah yeah so i don't necessarily i'm not 0.98

00:59:14.320 going to sit here and blame them for this like you can blame people for being fucking lazy you can't

00:59:18.840 blame people for the environment that they grew up in that would be like saying that the environment 1.00

00:59:24.460 that um you know joe grew up in because he grew up with two parents who were lazy as fuck who didn't do 0.99

00:59:30.880 shit and didn't teach me anything should be at the same level that i'm at because i grew up with a dad 0.99

00:59:35.180 who fucking taught me everything and a mom who taught me a ton of shit too about being a good person 0.98

00:59:39.840 and all these things that allowed me to get so far ahead how is it fair to compare andy to joe it's 0.99

00:59:45.380 not fair so how the fuck are we going to compare these kids who have grown up in a society where we

00:59:50.640 have all these tools all these ways to connect all these uh conveniences that you and i didn't have 0.98

00:59:56.080 and say oh they're fucking lazy because of that or they're impatient because they're not 0.91

01:00:00.140 impatient they just never been taught patience right all right right so to say oh they're 0.98

01:00:04.640 impatient you could say that about anybody because tons and tons and tons of people who grew up in

01:00:10.260 our era and i'm gonna say our era but you're older than me no you are yeah so

01:00:16.200 tons and tons and tons of people that grew up that are in that age group who grew up with the same

01:00:23.440 conveniences that you and i had that just weren't as convenient as what these people had

01:00:27.620 have become impatient because these things have been introduced right we're fortunate because

01:00:34.120 things took longer and we had to have patience and we had to do things like go look at movie times

01:00:40.200 you know to that doesn't mean that they're impatient that just means that they haven't been taught

01:00:46.160 patience so one of the things that parents schools teachers influencers mentors everybody out there

01:00:54.040 who's been successful who understands patience should be talking about is patience okay it's

01:01:00.600 something that has been overlooked and not taught and not explained properly and and these kids have

01:01:07.380 no reason to understand what why things should take longer than three months which is why i talk about

01:01:13.060 it all the time you know and not only compounded on what we're talking about the modern conveniences 0.99

01:01:18.680 that have been you know these people have been blessed with you have every fucking internet shark 0.95

01:01:24.760 out there trying to tell kids oh it only takes 12 months buy my program oh it only takes 12 months 0.97

01:01:29.720 to be a millionaire i was living in my fucking basement um you know 12 months ago and now i'm a 0.99

01:01:34.460 millionaire trying to get people to to follow them that's bullshit and there's not enough people out 0.99

01:01:39.880 there that are telling them that that's the only people out there that i know that do that actively 0.98

01:01:44.860 are me and gary i don't see anybody else doing that no no because they're trying to sell something

01:01:50.580 right and there's other influencers out there that i respect and like and everything but dude you guys 0.93

01:01:55.140 have a moral obligation because i know they listen to fucking tell people that they have to stick with 0.94

01:02:00.040 it because just because you're making a few bucks off this person you have to realize what you're also 0.98

01:02:05.240 doing you're also because you made a few dollars and you didn't explain that it was was going to take time

01:02:10.900 you're you're violating them in a moral way in my opinion because you're setting them up to fail

01:02:21.060 and you're taking something from them without really without really being honest truly honest 0.94

01:02:26.660 with them what it's going to take they're going to go out they're going to fucking fail and guess who 0.97

01:02:30.460 they're going to blame they're not going to blame you they're going to blame themselves and when they 0.99

01:02:33.800 blame themselves they think they're a failure they think something's wrong with them their self-esteem

01:02:37.840 goes down they could get depressed blah blah all these other things all because you wanted to make

01:02:42.260 150 bucks right when really you could have still made 150 bucks by telling them hey my program works

01:02:50.140 but you'd be expected to commit to it for the next three years you know what i mean or the next five

01:02:54.840 years that way if they do fail in one year you can always say hey i told you three years and will you

01:03:02.560 sell as many products up front you'll probably sell more because it's more the truth and people know

01:03:07.640 the fucking truth right but people are so afraid to do that and like dude you you know you can't 0.94

01:03:12.600 expect people to be patients that have never practiced things that make them patient right you know 0.92

01:03:17.260 that's that's i i started taking guitar lessons when i was 30 years old my guitar teacher's biggest quote

01:03:22.360 that he's that he's very intelligent dude um and i i need to start seeing him again because i just

01:03:28.180 kind of missed the friendship but his his quote they used to always say because like dude i'm an

01:03:35.900 impatient dude i want shit right away too right but what's the alternative quitting i'm not gonna 0.90

01:03:40.840 fucking quit because i know sure as fuck i'm not gonna get it then so i have patience by default like 0.98

01:03:47.000 i'm just not gonna give up until i get where i want to be but he used to say um because like learning 0.99

01:03:52.540 guitar at 30 is really fucking hard and uh he used to always say you know you know how you need to 0.54

01:03:59.020 become more patient and i'm like yeah i do and he goes you know how to become more patient 0.98

01:04:02.920 by practicing things that require patience which is practicing your guitar you know what i'm saying

01:04:08.880 and dude uh that's the truth but you can't expect people patience is a skill just like anything else

01:04:15.100 right you know how are you going to expect somebody to be good at being patient if they've never been

01:04:18.760 required to be patient so i think that's society sort of failing these people not them not a fault in

01:04:24.500 their character absolutely and i'm glad you i'm glad you emphasize that because that that's really 0.99

01:04:29.460 what like dude a lot of people like i bust millennials balls i'm no fuck i'm not afraid 0.99

01:04:33.240 to do that because no that's clear like dude it's clear but you know i don't think they're pieces of 0.99

01:04:37.760 shit i just think that they fucking haven't learned a lot of the things that are quote unquote reality 1.00

01:04:43.180 right you know what i mean and dude are there some lazy motherfuckers fuck yeah there are right but 1.00

01:04:48.480 there's lazy people in every generation but a lot of people think millennial and they think oh i'm 0.99

01:04:52.440 destined to fail i disagree right i think the millennials have the ability to succeed the most because

01:04:57.620 there's the most opportunity because they haven't been taught things like patient they haven't been 0.99

01:05:02.880 taught things like the same work ethic they have been raised to go out in the yard and pull fucking 0.92

01:05:07.780 weeds for eight hours or rake uh rake the leaves or or cut grass or do set up a lemonade stand they 0.97

01:05:13.920 haven't done that they've played video games because their parents are too lazy to help them learn i mean 0.99

01:05:19.560 do we have an entire generation of humans in america that have been raised on fucking playstation 0.99

01:05:23.660 you know they could tell you they could tell you everything about call of duty but they can't 1.00

01:05:28.800 tell you one thing about fucking how to you know fix the spark plug in your fucking lawnmower 0.99

01:05:34.160 you know what i mean like absolutely we we they just haven't been raised right absolutely and whose 1.00

01:05:41.460 fault is that that's and that's and that's something cynic says at the end of his video and and and

01:05:46.620 frankly i now that i think about it it's his fourth point which is that these really are terrific kids

01:05:51.200 they just they through no fault of their own they have been put into situation and then what happens

01:05:55.880 is they go into into company environments with with people who don't care about them who only care

01:06:02.700 about making money and they fail and and he talks about how there's just this spectacular lack of

01:06:07.920 leadership and i love what he says he says listen if you're a business owner yeah i'm sorry it sucks to

01:06:13.480 be you but if you want to if you want to succeed with millennials you've got to care and i think that that's

01:06:18.880 what i really really truly admire about you is that you do kick people in the rear but at the same time

01:06:24.500 you realize that okay if i'm going to get these millennials to to produce and and to and to become

01:06:31.120 the kind of people that they can be it may mean i have to wear the drill sergeant hat it may mean that 0.98

01:06:37.420 i have to wear the parent hat it used to be easy it used to be easy to be a fucking business owner 0.99

01:06:42.780 or a a ceo you want your people to perform you put a fucking commission on whatever product it is 0.98

01:06:48.560 and they fucking go sell it and make money it was that easy right because a generation ago before 0.99

01:06:53.680 millennials people were still taught that money was important and that the goal was to go out and 0.98

01:06:57.940 create a living to take care of your family these kids have not been taught that that same way

01:07:02.900 it's not necessarily wrong it's just different right so really what this is is managers being lazy as 0.96

01:07:08.680 fuck about adapting their technique and learning new techniques on how to manage people a great 0.96

01:07:12.440 manager a great leader a champion coach which is what a great ceo ceo is is somebody who gets the 0.97

01:07:19.360 most out of their people all right so just because you think they should perform a different way than

01:07:24.800 what they actually perform doesn't make them wrong it actually makes you wrong so absolutely when you're 0.97

01:07:30.680 a fucking ceo or manager or you have people right now and you bitch about millennials you're you're a 0.99

01:07:36.280 fucking you're copping out like i'll bitch about them if there's a real thing to be bitched about 1.00

01:07:43.380 you know what i mean but there's certain things that are not there's a line in the sand where it's 0.99

01:07:50.380 not their fault anymore it's yours if you get what i'm saying yeah yeah so guys basically to sum up 0.98

01:07:56.880 uh millennials have been taught that life is easy i mean we could do a whole podcast on how to fucking 0.94

01:08:01.680 get millennials to perform i think that would be a good podcast yeah i think it would be you know 0.88

01:08:05.920 because people i get that question all the time it's one of the most common ones from old from 30

01:08:10.100 30 year and older business owners who are like man how do i get these young kids to perform

01:08:14.340 blah blah blah blah blah now there are going to be some that's still money motivated and for those of

01:08:19.160 you that are out there you're there's nothing wrong with that but uh you get much more out of an

01:08:26.680 organization as as a whole and you always will by doing it the way they want to be led look at the

01:08:35.220 companies who fucking survive and thrive you know year after year after year after year they all have 0.88

01:08:41.920 amazing cultures and they're purpose driven you know like look at a company like apple you know we're 0.95

01:08:47.080 bringing these new technologies to the market to help people succeed to help people be better and have a

01:08:51.940 more enjoyable more effective life you know we're trying to solve real problems with technology

01:08:57.140 that's a purpose you know look at harley davidson dude unleash your inner badass you know freedom 0.97

01:09:03.760 america fucking bald eagle tattoo on your chest badass you know dude that's that's a that's a problem 0.98

01:09:10.760 you know people don't you know what the problem is there they don't feel cool so what do they do to 0.99

01:09:14.440 go buy a fucking harley they join the culture of harley and guess what they're cool you know what i mean 0.81

01:09:20.400 you know what the problem you know what the biggest problem people need solved is is they want to feel 0.99

01:09:24.300 cool you know solve that problem make them feel fucking cool and you're gonna win you know what i mean 0.79

01:09:31.240 but people don't get that like they work so hard to try and create this money machine without giving

01:09:43.940 these people a purpose and dude what fun is that like oh i'm the only one making money these guys are all 1.00

01:09:48.780 making a little bit of money but we don't have any fun we don't have a purpose but you're fucking 0.99

01:09:53.320 robots and humans aren't robots they're humans so give people something to celebrate give them 0.99

01:09:59.200 something to go for give them something to try to uh win at you know something to achieve something to

01:10:05.960 innovate you know those are the things people want to be a part of they don't want to be a part of a

01:10:10.240 fucking they don't want to be a cog in a machine i don't think there's anything wrong with that 1.00

01:10:14.440 you know and that's really what people bitch about millennials the most oh they're fucking lazy 1.00

01:10:18.940 entitled blah blah some of them are lazy yes some of them are entitled yes but what i don't agree with 0.99

01:10:24.840 is when they say oh they're purpose-driven that's a good thing that's a great thing because if your

01:10:29.740 company was purpose-driven it would make 10 times the money that it normally would that's why our

01:10:34.460 retail stores are the highest grossing per square foot retail model in the country besides the apple store 0.79

01:10:39.760 because we have a fucking purpose you know what the purpose is we care we care if people come in 0.94

01:10:44.780 our store and get results we care if they lose weight we care if they build muscle we care if 0.99

01:10:48.960 they feel better we care if they're more confident we fucking care so it works and you know what when 0.86

01:10:55.360 you care about people they care about you so what do they do they go out and they tell their friends 0.97

01:10:59.220 hey go see andy over at the supplement super stores because he fucking cares guess what happens your 0.97

01:11:04.060 business grows you take care of people they take care of you it's that simple but people have such a 0.94

01:11:09.300 hard time with that because typical businesses how can we manipulate the customer into getting their

01:11:13.200 money how can we change the color of our packaging to increase sales 0.002 percent blah blah blah blah

01:11:20.520 blah blah blah blah well you know what how how about you just like make your product better how about you

01:11:26.320 just show your customers what this product's going to do for you how about you spend more time with

01:11:31.020 your customers more time with your employees that's going to increase your sales a lot fucking more than 0.98

01:11:35.140 whatever color you put on the fucking packaging but you know it's corporate america dude so before 0.98

01:11:41.820 you wrap up i have to tell you this conversation has given me a great idea for yet another book of 0.99

01:11:46.500 yours because you have a whole generation of people who think life should be easy and you're telling

01:11:51.040 them no it's hard you have a whole generation of of kids who because of social media are shallow

01:11:57.220 and you're saying no what you need is you need deeper relationships and you have a whole generation

01:12:01.000 of people who think that that success could come instantly and you're telling them uh no it's going

01:12:06.380 to take a long long time so here's my here's my epiphany you ready for this i don't know okay the new

01:12:12.060 york times best-selling book by elizabeth gilbert was called eat pray love yeah you're going to come up

01:12:19.560 with a blockbuster book called hard deep and long

01:12:25.940 that's my motto

01:12:29.680 hashtag impale it 0.98

01:12:32.920 i like it am i gonna i'm gonna probably get blowback for that but i don't give a fuck 0.98

01:12:38.460 well i don't either really when it comes down to it no i really don't this last episode 0.96

01:12:42.680 no i don't i think it just i think it just perplexes me hard deep and long register that

01:12:50.200 name we're gonna use it okay sounds good well i've just ruined it now because somebody's gonna

01:12:55.000 write it down no you fucking register it like right now oh right now yeah we've got three days 0.98

01:12:59.180 before people hear this shit i can't that's true you put dot com on you know on the end of it 1.00

01:13:03.620 you motherfuckers are already three days three days about hard deep and long dot com 1.00

01:13:07.300 i bet it's i bet it's some interesting content 0.98

01:13:11.460 okay that guys thanks so much uh any other closing comments yeah i do have some closing comments

01:13:19.120 you know if you're a millennial and you're listening to this podcast you're already part

01:13:23.140 of the group that is on the right track so give yourself uh you know some credit there um

01:13:28.820 you know when i speak negatively about millennials you know

01:13:32.300 it's because i have witnessed frustration this is something this is where gary and i don't agree

01:13:38.980 because i run a retail company i employ all millennials in that retail company i know how 0.98

01:13:46.200 hard it is to find good and my people because they listen to this too you guys are fucking great 0.56

01:13:51.900 you know do we have our issues absolutely do we have our struggles absolutely but my people are 0.98

01:13:58.220 the fucking best people like my people i don't care if we open up fucking whatever store ice cream 1.00

01:14:02.900 store a tire store fucking a store that sold widgets it doesn't matter we will whoop your ass 1.00

01:14:09.520 because our people are awesome but to get those people is a different story we interview fucking 1.00

01:14:17.640 five ten twenty people for every one person we hire maybe more because so many people are just

01:14:23.880 clueless that's where the bad rep on millennials get and that's where it comes from so you guys

01:14:31.300 have to realize that you are at a tremendous advantage and that's a good thing that your

01:14:36.200 generation is the way it is in a lot of ways but there's certain things about millennials that are

01:14:41.000 really cool too being purpose-driven is one of the things i like most about them because they do want

01:14:45.700 to be a part of something and there's nothing wrong with that you know i don't think that their

01:14:49.760 lack of patience is something that they should be faulted for they grew up in a in an era where

01:14:54.720 patience has become something that is very rare so that means if you develop it as a millennial guess

01:15:00.420 what success is easier for you to achieve than it was for me or the generations in the past you know

01:15:05.500 if you're a hard worker in your millennial your chances of success are much higher than it was for me

01:15:10.940 or the generation in the past when there were more people who were wanting to go out and make a lot of

01:15:15.940 money you know that's awesome if you're a millennial you should be happy about that you know if you're

01:15:21.680 listening to this podcast and you're a millennial you your chance of success because i can already 0.54

01:15:25.960 tell you're on the right track or you wouldn't be fucking listening are so much higher than what it 0.94

01:15:30.380 would be for your parents or your parents parents when everybody was forced to work because if they 0.97

01:15:34.900 didn't work they'd fucking starve okay you should feel good about that you should feel good about being

01:15:40.660 a millennial you should take pride in that because if you're and you should set an example for that 0.97

01:15:46.560 for that brand of quote-unquote millennials you see what i mean um but you know when people bash 0.98

01:15:56.300 millennials realize they're not bashing you you're the fucking pride of the millennial generation you're 0.97

01:16:01.760 the people that make us have hope that's you guys listening you know feel good about that don't get 0.97

01:16:06.860 upset when people bash millennials the thing that you know i see now like people bash millennials and 0.98

01:16:12.360 then all the other millennials are like fuck you we work hard blah blah blah blah they're not talking 1.00

01:16:16.280 to you no they're talking to the other motherfuckers who live in their mom's basement till they're 1.00

01:16:20.040 fucking 40 years old and you know half your fucking friends are those people so dude don't get so 0.99

01:16:26.460 defensive you know what i mean like feel good about what you are you know do i agree with what gary says 1.00

01:16:31.540 about all these millennials or blah blah blah blah blah sort of i guess like there's good millennials 0.95

01:16:36.700 out there doing cool shit just like there's good people in any generation doing cool shit but i do 0.82

01:16:42.300 think there are lacks in certain things because of failed parent strategies like we're talking about 0.97

01:16:46.840 here where people were raised on video games and fucking microwave dinners and they didn't have real 0.98

01:16:53.660 communication they didn't go out and play in the fucking dirt they didn't jump their bike over ramps 1.00

01:16:57.580 and over their friends and play with hot wheels in the fucking mud they didn't do that shit 1.00

01:17:01.360 so they have different perspectives you know and whether it's their fault or not which you know 0.99

01:17:08.280 they've got to adapt and when they don't adapt it becomes their fault and that's the problem i have

01:17:13.520 with it when you walk into a workplace and you're not going to give it your all you're not going to 1.00

01:17:17.440 contribute you're not going to take initiative to be the best you fucking can you're a lazy piece of 1.00

01:17:21.240 shit you know and that's it and you're going to that's what you're going to get in life you're 1.00

01:17:25.560 going to get a lazy piece of shit life you can't hide your way in business to success it doesn't 1.00

01:17:32.300 happen you know a lot of people think they're going to come into a job and they're going to do work 0.99

01:17:36.220 half-assed and they're going to hide in the system and eventually because they get so old they're going

01:17:39.920 to become successful no that's a bad strategy it just is you know it's never going to work out for you

01:17:46.200 so if you're one of these millennial people realize that especially if you're listening here 0.97

01:17:50.460 you could shock the fucking world with your work ethic and your drive and your your ability to 0.98

01:17:55.100 take responsibility and be a leader by just being ambitious and doing the things that we're talking 0.99

01:18:00.300 about here a tremendous opportunity for you guys and i hope you take advantage of it absolutely

01:18:05.820 all right guys thank you so much catch us next time bye

01:18:16.200 you
