00:00:00.400 I can stack them hundreds to the roof. I ain't stopping till they stack to the moon.
00:00:04.880 Without me, my family wouldn't have food. Anybody go against me gotta lose.
00:00:12.040 What is up guys? You're listening to the MFCEO Project. I'm Andy, I'm your host, and I am the motherfucking CEO.
00:00:19.100 Guys, today is Thursday Thunder. I'm going to get to that in just a second.
00:00:22.480 Just as a reminder, or if you're new, I do charge a fee for this show, but it isn't money.
00:00:28.840 What I ask is that you tell a friend for every single episode that you get value from.
00:00:34.480 A lot of you guys tell people about the podcast, but what about the seven episodes that you got tremendous value from?
00:00:40.620 Did you tell seven people, or did you tell one person?
00:00:43.960 I'm asking for one person per episode. I think that's fair.
00:00:48.360 I'm giving you guys the real stuff. I'm giving you guys the real information of what it takes to succeed out there.
00:00:55.620 By the way, I'm out there doing it. I don't make my living as a professional speaker, or a motivator, or a fucking seminar giver.
00:01:04.120 I'm an operator. Most of you guys are either operators, or you want to be, or you're just trying to figure out how you can have more success.
00:01:12.320 This show will cover that full spectrum.
00:01:14.260 We will cover personal development. We will cover actual business. We will cover success in relationships.
00:01:21.660 We will cover everything that you could possibly think of when it comes to furthering and progressing your life.
00:01:29.380 If it's not on this particular show, I promise you it's in the library of shows.
00:01:33.700 You can go back, check it out, listen.
00:01:35.100 By the way, we do have a review contest going on right now for the next month or so, which is, if you leave a review, five stars, we will pick a winner.
00:01:48.780 We are going to pick a few winners to come out, spend the day with me here in St. Louis.
00:01:54.380 We're going to have a good time. We're going to go out and do some stuff.
00:01:57.160 We're going to talk about your business, talk about your plans, maybe record an episode, go out to dinner, and hang out and have a good time.
00:02:02.780 And it's going to be something that you will remember for the rest of your life.
00:02:07.440 We've done this a few other times, and it's been a really, really fun and a really rewarding experience.
00:02:13.000 So the way we do that is you're going to go to iTunes.
00:02:16.280 You're going to leave a five-star review.
00:02:17.560 You're going to write a review, not just hit the five-star.
00:02:20.420 You're going to say what the show meant to you.
00:02:22.420 And if you do that, you're going to take a screenshot.
00:02:25.120 You're going to email it to Vaughn at, what is Vaughn's email, Tyler?
00:02:29.780 Vaughn at andyfrusella.com.
00:02:34.360 You're going to screenshot that email there, or that screenshot.
00:02:38.800 Fuck.
00:02:39.500 You guys know what I'm saying.
00:02:40.620 You're going to email the fucking picture to Vaughn, and we're going to pick some winners.
00:02:44.520 That's how we're going to do it.
00:02:45.440 With that being said, now, I've been noticing a few things amongst, and by the way, if you guys follow me, you know I don't just say shit for the sake of saying it.
00:03:00.980 I say things when I think I have something of value to say.
00:03:03.560 That's why I don't put out a certain number of podcasts anymore, and I don't do a post every day anymore, because I feel like if you want people to listen, you should speak when you have something to say, not just force shit down people's throat.
00:03:19.020 That's my personal opinion.
00:03:20.280 So today, I do have something important to say, and this is a message to anybody who's frustrated, okay?
00:03:27.540 I'm going to talk about it in the sense of entrepreneurship, but this really applies across the spectrum of your entire life, okay?
00:03:36.700 And there's two realizations that you need to come to if you're in a frustrated place right now, whether it be with your physical shape, whether it be with your relationship, whether it be with your business and your income and your career and all of those good things.
00:03:52.580 All of these things can be affected by these two realizations, and when I say them, you're going to be like, well, no shit, but the problem is most of you motherfuckers aren't fucking doing it,
00:04:05.800 because I can see it, all right?
00:04:08.080 So here's the first realization.
00:04:10.360 You have to understand that the progression of your career is going to accelerate the longer that you're in that space.
00:04:20.920 It should accelerate, okay?
00:04:23.420 If you're doing the work, and if you're doing it with the proper intent, and you're morally aligned the right way,
00:04:29.280 and you're accumulating skills, and you're accumulating relationships,
00:04:33.320 your career is going to accelerate, all right?
00:04:38.380 Now, I'm going to talk about this in terms of business, and specifically my business.
00:04:42.660 I had this talk with my team yesterday, all right?
00:04:46.700 You spend an exorbitant amount of time in the beginning of a business,
00:04:53.320 literally thinking of the business, making phone calls, building relationships,
00:05:00.320 sending emails, sending texts, creating product, creating distribution channels, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera.
00:05:09.060 You've got to build a staff.
00:05:10.260 You've got to build a culture.
00:05:11.340 You've got to do all this shit.
00:05:12.980 All of these things take a long time, and the reason they take a long time
00:05:17.780 is not because they're extremely difficult.
00:05:22.660 It's just because the nature of these things take time,
00:05:25.720 and time is something that young people really struggle with, okay?
00:05:30.640 The reason young people really struggle with this is because they've been brought up in a society
00:05:35.820 that has been instant everything, all right?
00:05:39.920 Text message, email, pizza in 20 fucking minutes, Grubhub, fucking one-day shipping.
00:05:48.200 Dude, we literally don't have to wait for anything anymore,
00:05:51.280 and the problem with that, although it's 99% great for us, is that it teaches us no patience, okay?
00:05:59.000 And we have a generation of young people right now who are trying to build companies
00:06:04.380 and trying to become entrepreneurs and trying to build success
00:06:08.380 who haven't developed the skill of exercising patience, all right?
00:06:15.980 So I want to explain this to you very simply and logically so you understand it
00:06:21.180 because I've talked to some people lately in my company,
00:06:24.700 and I see this all over when I'm traveling and I'm speaking to people.
00:06:29.520 I have this same thing come up over and over again.
00:06:32.180 People feel stuck.
00:06:33.460 They feel frustrated.
00:06:35.060 And most of all, this is when it really sets in.
00:06:38.200 When they get to that first little goal,
00:06:40.580 when they make that first six-figure income or that first seven-figure income,
00:06:44.560 and they realize how long it took them, right?
00:06:50.260 That it almost demoralizes them for what they're going to do in the future.
00:06:54.780 So what I mean by this is this.
00:06:59.180 For me, it's taken me 20 fucking years to get where I am now, all right?
00:07:05.260 And that first 10 years were slow.
00:07:09.400 I didn't make any money the first 10 years.
00:07:11.600 My first 10 years in business, $58,000 total over the course of 10 fucking years, all right?
00:07:19.860 But then what happens, what you guys have to remember,
00:07:23.000 what happens along the way during that time of what I would call like the lag time,
00:07:29.920 you're developing skills.
00:07:31.620 You're learning lessons.
00:07:32.980 You're creating relationships.
00:07:34.980 You're building quality relationships with your customer.
00:07:38.540 You're brand strengthening.
00:07:39.940 You're building culture.
00:07:40.960 You're building a team.
00:07:42.120 You're building all these things that create the infrastructure and system of your company, all right?
00:07:48.840 And what happens is once you have all these things built,
00:07:52.780 and then you have a little bit of resources because you've put the time in,
00:07:57.160 now your ability to accelerate success,
00:08:01.080 that first 10 years, you might be able to do that in two months, all right?
00:08:06.000 And so you have to remember that as you go in the process and as you get deeper in the process,
00:08:12.660 it's going to accelerate more and more and more.
00:08:16.260 And what it might have taken you 10 years to do might take you two months to do after 10 years.
00:08:22.260 So you cannot look at your future and say,
00:08:25.380 man, it took me 10 years to make $58,000.
00:08:30.080 It's going to take me 100 years to make $10 million.
00:08:33.440 No, that's not true.
00:08:35.880 It might only take you four more years or five more years to make $10 million.
00:08:40.160 It might take you another year to make $10 million.
00:08:42.620 The problem with this, guys, is that most people will quit before that time comes, all right?
00:08:50.020 So at the bottom, and I want you to think about this like a pyramid,
00:08:54.040 at the bottom, you have tons and tons and tons of competition.
00:08:58.160 It's very difficult.
00:08:59.420 It's frustrating.
00:09:00.300 It seems like everybody's like you are.
00:09:02.160 And then you have people at the top who you want to be like.
00:09:06.220 Well, usually the people at the top, the reason they're at the top is really simple.
00:09:11.760 They were willing to endure longer than the people at the bottom.
00:09:15.820 And as you go up the pyramid, people fall off.
00:09:18.780 So every level you get to, people quit.
00:09:20.920 And then you get to the next level, more quit.
00:09:22.820 And then you get to the next level and more quit.
00:09:24.460 And then you put enough time in where it's you and three other, four other companies,
00:09:28.900 and you're leading the market.
00:09:30.960 And that's how it happens, guys.
00:09:32.440 Now, it doesn't just happen.
00:09:33.740 You've got to come to work every day with the proper intent of getting to that point,
00:09:39.420 and you've got to back up those actions.
00:09:41.240 But because you put so much time in and you have all these tools now and you have all these relationships
00:09:46.480 and you have all these resources, the amount of time it takes to see a new idea into fruition is cut down drastically.
00:09:54.920 You know, 99%.
00:09:56.300 Where it used to take you a year, it's taken you fucking two days.
00:10:00.140 All right?
00:10:00.440 And that's what happens.
00:10:01.940 Most people will quit before they get to that point, or they'll never get to that point because right now it's popular in our culture
00:10:09.080 to not actually want to be successful and wealthy, but the goal seems to be for a lot of people just to look that way.
00:10:17.880 All right?
00:10:18.220 And if that's you, you're going to lose because eventually the robbing Peter to pay Paul and cover your ass on the bills
00:10:24.340 and this and that is going to catch up, and you're going to lose, and you're going to be embarrassed,
00:10:27.180 which is the worst thing you want because that's why you're fronting in the first place.
00:10:33.020 So remember, it gets easier and it gets faster, but you have to be willing to put in the time during that lag time.
00:10:42.480 And if you want to see what this looks like, imagine a hockey stick, okay?
00:10:47.440 And a hockey stick has that long handle, and if you were laying a long handle on the ground, that's the first X amount of years.
00:10:55.340 Now, for me, it was 10 years, but remember, I didn't have the technology.
00:10:59.000 I didn't have social media.
00:11:00.600 I didn't have all these extra things that you guys have to use that can accelerate that process.
00:11:06.120 You guys are in a tremendously more advantageous situation than I was.
00:11:12.700 We had to actually go out and meet people.
00:11:14.660 We had to create, and that even takes more time.
00:11:17.180 But now you can do all this shit digitally, and it can cut that down.
00:11:20.620 So when you think about a hockey stick laying on the ground, and then you see the little blade part, the part that touches the puck,
00:11:27.720 and you lay that, and that part's pointing up in the air, that would represent what the entrepreneurship curve looks like for most people.
00:11:34.780 And that's why most people will think that you were a success overnight when really it took you 20 fucking years.
00:11:42.480 I can't tell you how many people tell me, oh, dude, congratulations on all the success.
00:11:47.140 It happened so fast.
00:11:48.580 I'm like, where the fuck have you been, bro?
00:11:50.680 I've been here every fucking day for the last 20 fucking years putting in my fucking days day in and day out.
00:11:56.180 You've quit five fucking jobs.
00:11:57.960 You've moved five careers.
00:11:59.320 This, that, you know, and, dude, they don't understand, and so all they see is the hockey stick going straight in the air,
00:12:05.240 and that's when their ears perk up and they pay attention, and then they think you made it overnight, all right?
00:12:09.780 That's just their ignorance.
00:12:11.600 But that is how it works.
00:12:13.040 You're going to put in a long time before it starts to go straight up in the air, and you want that.
00:12:18.160 The reason you want that is because if you don't have that and you just have the blade go straight up in the air,
00:12:25.860 now you don't have the lessons.
00:12:27.420 You don't have the resources.
00:12:29.380 You don't have the ability to scale.
00:12:31.860 Your company can die just as quickly from you hitting a grand slam at your first at bat as it can from you quitting fucking six months in.
00:12:42.360 You just don't realize it.
00:12:43.760 All of you guys want to do it today, and if you do it today, you're going to fucking lose.
00:12:47.060 That's just the way it is because you don't have the experience to handle the success, and you all think you do.
00:12:53.360 Like if I said, hey, I'll give you a business, and in six months, it'll be a $10 million business, and in a year, it's going to be a $30 million business.
00:13:01.900 I promise you, 99% of you will be broke before it hits a year.
00:13:07.120 Your company will run into the dirt because you haven't paid those dues to learn those lessons.
00:13:11.080 You don't know how to manage employees.
00:13:13.080 You don't know how to build a culture.
00:13:14.540 You don't know how to handle the infrastructure.
00:13:16.640 You don't know how to do the marketing.
00:13:17.820 You just had a great product that people loved, and sometimes that's good enough, but that's the reality of entrepreneurship.
00:13:24.040 We're talking about .00001%, and then that's what the media picks up on and shows you because it's sexy, but that's not most success.
00:13:32.760 Most success is being able to endure longer than everybody else, accumulating the skills, accumulating the relationships, accumulating the resources,
00:13:40.520 so that you can accelerate when you get to a certain point at really an unprecedented speed, and then all of a sudden, your life changes
00:13:50.840 because now you have the ability to not only make it, but you have the lessons to keep it, too, so I want you to remember that.
00:13:56.540 It's going to get faster.
00:13:58.340 Just because it took you five years to make $100,000 doesn't mean it's going to take you five more years to make $200,000, all right?
00:14:05.440 That's only if you're still doing the same shit.
00:14:07.840 If you didn't learn anything, that might be true, but if you accelerate, you learn the skills, it's just not how it works, so remember that.
00:14:15.660 You're frustrated.
00:14:16.500 You're angry.
00:14:17.340 You feel like you're spinning your wheels.
00:14:19.400 Dude, if you're showing up every day, you're putting in the intent, you're doing what needs to be done, you're going to fucking win.
00:14:24.480 It's going to happen.
00:14:25.400 It's coming.
00:14:25.980 You just haven't seen it yet, and all your friends, all your colleagues, all your competition is going to quit before that happens.
00:14:32.600 I can promise you that, all right?
00:14:34.480 But here, and this is the second realization that you need to make because I see this, and this goes right with the first one.
00:14:43.860 Young people, young entrepreneurs want it now, all right?
00:14:47.660 So what they do is they get these big fucking eyes, man.
00:14:51.880 You ever gone to like a place to eat, and you were starving, and your eyes were bigger than your stomach, man,
00:14:58.320 and you ordered all kinds of food, and you got it, and you ate for like four minutes, and then you're like, holy shit, why did I order all this food?
00:15:05.260 I don't even know what to do.
00:15:06.200 I can't eat all this.
00:15:06.960 And you come to that realization real quick.
00:15:09.500 The same thing happens in business, especially to younger entrepreneurs.
00:15:13.420 What they do is they get, instead of learning how to finish, what they do is they're constantly looking for the next big thing.
00:15:22.260 And you have to balance learning how to finish with learning how to evolve, all right?
00:15:29.300 What I mean by that is this.
00:15:32.180 People who succeed are strong finishers, meaning they take a project, they prioritize it, and they see it through from A to Z, and they get it into play.
00:15:44.460 People who don't succeed, they will start on a project, they will get halfway through, they will look around, and they will say, man, this is hard.
00:15:53.960 And they'll look for the next best thing.
00:15:56.460 Then they jump from a halfway through project into the next best thing at stage one, day one, and they start the process over again.
00:16:05.560 Sound familiar?
00:16:06.880 I bet you're doing this in certain parts of your life, and it's causing you a lot of frustration.
00:16:11.560 You have to understand that anything that's going to produce a result that you're going to want is going to be fucking hard.
00:16:20.040 You're going to have to learn how to stick it through.
00:16:22.880 You're going to have to learn how to prioritize and be committed full through from A to Z.
00:16:29.700 What person in the history of this earth was ever rewarded for doing half the job?
00:16:35.820 What person ever got fucking celebrated for running half a marathon, okay?
00:16:41.560 When they were supposed to run a full, all right?
00:16:44.060 People don't talk about those people.
00:16:46.540 People only reward the world, only rewards, and only celebrates people who know how to finish.
00:16:53.620 And if you just take that from this podcast, that one tip will make you millions of fucking dollars.
00:16:59.980 Because I'm going to tell you right now, the biggest struggle I have as a leader and with my team is getting them to understand this concept.
00:17:08.580 We don't switch gears before the job is done.
00:17:12.100 Now, are there occasions where that you might adapt halfway through?
00:17:15.620 Yes, but you stay prioritized on the task at hand.
00:17:19.020 Weak people, people who are inexperienced, people who don't know, will spend their entire careers jumping from career to career to career to career to career.
00:17:31.440 And then they look around and they're like, fuck, dude, I don't have it, I guess.
00:17:35.160 I don't have it.
00:17:36.260 Whatever it is, I don't have it.
00:17:37.960 Because I can't seem to get anywhere.
00:17:39.920 Here I am, 40 years old, and I'm still working for $60,000.
00:17:43.080 And the last four jobs I had were all those kind of jobs too.
00:17:48.180 Okay, or I started seven companies and none of them have made money.
00:17:51.760 The reason is, is because you're not learning how to finish.
00:17:54.620 You got to finish.
00:17:55.960 And that should be common sense.
00:17:57.800 But if you can't finish, you can't win.
00:18:01.000 Period.
00:18:01.780 It's that easy.
00:18:02.860 So if you're not winning in life, whatever it is, it's because you're not fucking finishing.
00:18:08.700 I guarantee it.
00:18:10.320 It's too easy to quit.
00:18:11.720 It's too easy to change gears.
00:18:13.420 You might say to yourself, oh, I didn't quit.
00:18:16.300 I just changed gears.
00:18:17.780 But no, you fucking quit.
00:18:19.200 It's just another way of fucking quitting.
00:18:22.140 You've got to learn how to finish.
00:18:23.740 You've got to learn how to see things through.
00:18:26.340 You've got to learn how to make sure that what you start gets finished.
00:18:30.740 And maybe it won't work.
00:18:32.600 Maybe that idea won't work.
00:18:34.320 But the habit of getting into the finishing the ideas is so much more valuable
00:18:39.360 than to jump from thing to thing to thing.
00:18:41.980 Because it's going to make you that much more effective.
00:18:44.320 So I would consider this.
00:18:46.340 Let's say, because right now I already know the objection.
00:18:48.960 The objection is, well, what if I realize halfway through the idea sucks?
00:18:52.340 Well, that's going to happen.
00:18:53.920 Still fucking finish.
00:18:55.080 And here's why.
00:18:56.100 Because one, it's going to build the habit of you finishing what you start.
00:18:59.440 Which is extremely important in life.
00:19:01.940 Two, and this is the better part of it, you're going to learn a lot of shit even in the things
00:19:10.700 that don't produce the result that you're after.
00:19:13.340 You've never done something in your life, ever, unless you're completely unaware that you didn't
00:19:18.580 learn something new.
00:19:20.060 Those lessons to learn while you're finishing something are valuable.
00:19:25.440 They're valuable to your future.
00:19:27.220 And guess what happens?
00:19:29.000 The more you finish things and they don't work, the better you get at finishing things
00:19:32.820 and making them work.
00:19:34.000 Because you learn what makes them don't work.
00:19:36.700 All right?
00:19:37.460 Or you learn what makes them not work.
00:19:38.840 I didn't deliver that properly.
00:19:39.980 Sorry.
00:19:40.360 Fucking fire me.
00:19:41.620 I don't know.
00:19:42.100 But here's the deal.
00:19:43.240 You've got to learn how to fucking finish.
00:19:44.860 All right?
00:19:45.140 So, if you're frustrated, if you're angry, if you're having a hard time in business and
00:19:50.580 life, I'm going to tell you guys, first of all, it's going to get easier if you keep
00:19:55.200 showing up every day.
00:19:56.280 If you show up every day with the proper intent, ready to kick ass, ready to give it your best
00:20:01.520 and do what the fuck you need to do, it is going to accelerate.
00:20:05.220 You're going to get better because you're going to learn lessons.
00:20:07.420 You're going to have resources.
00:20:08.280 You're going to build relationships.
00:20:09.460 They're all going to come together in a magic formula that creates a faster level of success.
00:20:14.560 All right?
00:20:15.140 You've got to show up and you've got to have the intent.
00:20:17.500 But if you do that for long enough, it's going to accelerate.
00:20:20.540 And point two, if you don't finish, you don't got a shot.
00:20:23.960 You can't win the race if you don't finish the race.
00:20:26.240 You can't get a medal if you don't fucking finish.
00:20:28.640 Well, you might be able to do that in America now, but I'm talking about a real fucking medal.
00:20:33.480 So, that's it, guys.
00:20:34.800 That's what I got for you today.
00:20:36.680 All right?
00:20:37.360 Learn how to be patient and learn how to fucking finish.
00:20:42.340 If you do those two things, you're going to greatly, greatly, greatly improve your overall quality of life and your ability to make money, your ability to impact, and your ability to have meaningful and positive relationships in your life.
00:20:56.360 It's that simple.
00:20:58.120 It's that simple.
00:20:58.160 It's that simple.
00:20:59.980 Thank you.
