Summary

In this episode of Thursday Thunder, I talk about a recent case of a man who is serving a life sentence for a horrific crime he committed in Honduras. It got me to thinking about what it would be like to grow up in a poverty-stricken country like Honduras and how it could have shaped who I am today.

00:00:00.000 I can stack them hunts to the roof. I ain't stopping till they stack to the moon.
00:00:04.820 Without me, my family wouldn't have food. Anybody go against me gotta lose.
00:00:12.480 What is up guys? You're listening to the MFCEO Project. I'm Andy, I'm your host, and I am the motherfucking CEO.
00:00:20.920 Guys, if this is your first time listening, welcome.
00:00:25.100 This is called the MFCEO Project because this is a project. This is a mission. This is a movement.
00:00:34.160 It is not your typical podcast where we just interview the same old motherfuckers every single day and hear the same old stories and all this other shit.
00:00:43.580 This is, this was and is a very purposeful mission, which is to correct the last 25 years of failed parenting strategies, okay?
00:00:59.560 It's to help young people, and when I say young people, I mean young in entrepreneurship and success in business
00:01:07.200 understand what it really takes to be successful.
00:01:12.820 We do usually two to three podcasts, sometimes Tuesday, almost always Thursday, and then Sunday, all right?
00:01:19.840 So today is Thursday Thunder, and it's a short, little, quick hit just to get you thinking about some things.
00:01:26.920 And what I want to talk to you guys about today is something that got me thinking.
00:01:35.060 I was reading the other day about this really bad dude down in Honduras, okay?
00:01:41.400 He was captured, and now he's in prison.
00:01:44.500 This guy apparently ruled everybody by fear. He intimidated everybody.
00:01:48.980 He brutalized people, and I mean to the extreme.
00:01:53.340 I don't mean just a little bit, you know?
00:01:55.620 He would hack little kids up in front of their parents, and then he'd light parents on fire
00:02:00.540 just to make an example for people who thought about going against him.
00:02:06.100 And as I'm reading this, obviously I'm thinking what all of you would think reading this, okay?
00:02:12.880 I'm thinking what is wrong with these fucking people, okay?
00:02:19.980 That's the natural reaction.
00:02:21.500 If you listened to last Sunday, you know that I'm sick of this shit just like you guys are, okay?
00:02:27.040 We were filled with negativity.
00:02:30.480 But I started reading the comments, and, you know, the comments were what you would expect, right?
00:02:35.640 It was like, oh, what an animal.
00:02:37.540 Oh, he deserves to burn in hell.
00:02:39.620 Or this fucking guy doesn't deserve to live.
00:02:42.180 You know, all the typical internet shit.
00:02:44.380 But one comment really got my attention, and it said this.
00:02:48.860 Honduras says, Honduras has been a poverty-stricken nation for years.
00:02:54.380 I'm not saying what he did wasn't terrible, but he probably had a really horrible childhood
00:03:00.320 and experienced trauma that we can't imagine.
00:03:03.740 And as the saying goes, hurt people hurt people.
00:03:07.380 Now, when I read that, part of me wanted to just destroy this person, okay?
00:03:16.420 You know, it's typical, you know, lunatic, liberal, idealist bullshit making excuses for people
00:03:25.740 that we have an issue with here, okay?
00:03:28.080 And not taking responsibility.
00:03:29.340 But the truth of the matter is, I took a minute, and instead of jumping all over this comment,
00:03:35.520 I thought about it.
00:03:37.500 You know, I thought about what it would be like to grow up in that kind of poverty.
00:03:41.700 And I thought what it would be like to grow up with that kind of violence, okay?
00:03:46.820 Growing up in craziness and chaos and instability.
00:03:50.500 And guys, that would be fucking hard, all right?
00:03:52.960 And that has to mess with the kind of person you are and the kind of person you become
00:03:57.400 beyond what any of you could really understand.
00:04:01.840 And I get that.
00:04:03.920 But what about the Jews in the concentration camps?
00:04:09.740 People who lost their whole fucking families when they got out and then went back to live
00:04:15.700 their lives, got married, started families, and built businesses that made the world a better
00:04:21.540 place.
00:04:22.040 What about the black people in the 40s and 50s and 60s whose family members were lynched
00:04:28.340 by white people because of the color of their skin, and instead of hating white people, they
00:04:35.760 went out and made friends, got involved in the community, and then worked together to teach
00:04:41.460 out the prejudices that exist in our society.
00:04:46.560 What about the guy who was bullied when he was a little kid instead of, you know, like I
00:04:50.440 said on Sunday, going and shooting up a bunch of people in his school, he grows up to become
00:04:55.480 a mentor, a coach, a friend to people who were also bullied, okay?
00:05:01.940 And I guess what I'm trying to say is this.
00:05:03.720 For every single person that has really shitty things happening to them and has used it as
00:05:09.380 an excuse to become a miserable person, and in this case, a fucking evil monster, there
00:05:16.860 are 100 other people who had terrible things happen to them and evil done to them, and they
00:05:24.040 responded by doing and becoming the opposite of what those actions were.
00:05:30.520 They ended up doing good things.
00:05:33.380 They became a force for good.
00:05:35.880 And my point is this, guys.
00:05:37.300 I don't care what hard things have happened to you.
00:05:41.180 I don't care what evil has been done to you.
00:05:44.500 I don't care how much you've suffered.
00:05:46.520 I don't care how much you've been hurt.
00:05:49.420 You always have a choice.
00:05:52.360 You don't have to just pass the shit on that was passed on to you, okay?
00:05:56.760 You don't have to excuse your terrible behavior by saying, oh, you know what?
00:06:01.600 I got fucked over, so fuck you, because that's what weak people do.
00:06:06.620 You have a will and a heart and a mind that can choose to do the right thing, and not just
00:06:14.480 choose to do the right thing, but choose to take the negative things that have been put
00:06:21.440 on you with no fault of your own and turn them into good, okay?
00:06:26.760 We have the ability and the freedom to make the choice to be the person who rises above
00:06:35.020 the shit.
00:06:36.880 Does it make it harder to be born in poverty?
00:06:39.860 Absolutely.
00:06:40.880 Does it make it harder when you grow up in a shit family?
00:06:44.680 Absolutely.
00:06:45.760 Does it hurt when people hurt you?
00:06:48.540 Absolutely.
00:06:49.180 But what the fuck kind of life are you going to have if all you want to do is hurt the
00:06:55.520 people who hurt you?
00:06:58.460 Now, I'm not saying you shouldn't hold on to that shit and use it, okay?
00:07:03.120 A lot of guys right now, it's popular to say, oh, well, why are you going to keep doing
00:07:09.520 this because three or four guys made fun of you in high school?
00:07:12.200 People, they act like they rise above it, okay?
00:07:16.580 It's okay to hang on to that shit if it helps you produce good things, okay?
00:07:24.800 And a lot of people will tell you, and you know people like this, it's not my fault.
00:07:30.800 It wasn't my decision.
00:07:32.400 The world did this to me.
00:07:34.080 My parents did this.
00:07:35.460 My uncle did this.
00:07:36.480 My aunt did this.
00:07:37.440 The circumstances did this, and a lot of people will duck and use the circumstances
00:07:44.700 of what it is they grew up in as an excuse instead of making the choice to be positive
00:07:52.920 about it, okay?
00:07:54.460 And the truth of the matter is most people that are out there right now are not thinking
00:08:00.040 the way I'm talking about in this podcast.
00:08:02.000 Most people, and a lot of you people who are listening to this, think that it's not
00:08:07.640 your choice.
00:08:08.740 You think you're not in control.
00:08:10.580 You think it's your destiny to be miserable and make other people miserable, okay?
00:08:16.500 Some people were blessed by God, and some people got fucked, and that's how you see it, and
00:08:21.280 you see yourself as the person that got fucked, but what you don't see is that you aren't locked
00:08:27.700 into anything.
00:08:29.080 You are free to choose.
00:08:30.500 You are free to use your emotions, your experiences, all the things that have happened to you to
00:08:36.700 produce good or to produce more bad.
00:08:39.520 You are free to be a good person.
00:08:42.340 You are free to actually become a great person.
00:08:47.920 You are free to become the kind of person that other people who have gone through the shit
00:08:54.780 that you have gone through will end up looking up to and thanking and being grateful for because
00:09:02.460 you exist and you taught them there was another way.
00:09:05.780 This choice that I'm talking about is rare.
00:09:11.720 People do not make the choice to turn good things out of bad things, and that's why most
00:09:18.060 of the people that you talk to are miserable, but you guys, first off, have to be aware of the choice,
00:09:26.860 and second of all, you have to make the fucking choice, and the reality is if you keep making the choice
00:09:33.840 day after day after day after day, to take what it was, to take the bad circumstances,
00:09:42.840 to take the things that frustrate you, to take the things that make you angry,
00:09:47.100 to take the things that have happened to you, and turn them into good, productive things,
00:09:54.220 if you continue to do that day in and day out for the course of your life, there is no way
00:10:02.400 that you cannot be successful.
00:10:05.920 I know a lot of you guys are thinking, well, how is there no way that I cannot be successful?
00:10:11.380 What does that mean?
00:10:12.020 This really has nothing to do with business.
00:10:14.360 Let me fill you in on something.
00:10:17.180 People are attracted to people who overcome.
00:10:21.180 People are attracted to people who seem to have that superhuman ability to persevere.
00:10:29.440 Look at any book you've read recently.
00:10:31.940 Look at any speaker you've went and saw that you really, truly loved.
00:10:36.080 Look at any movie that you've watched.
00:10:39.180 All of these things had a story of perseverance.
00:10:44.080 All of these things had a story of overcoming.
00:10:46.600 We as humans cannot help but to be inspired by people who have everything going against them
00:10:56.900 but choose to go ahead anyway.
00:11:02.400 And when people are attracted to you because you have that quality in real life,
00:11:07.200 not in the movies, not in a book, not on TV,
00:11:10.940 you're going to be successful.
00:11:13.280 Because attracting people is the hardest part.
00:11:18.120 Getting people to hear you, to see you, to stand out amongst every other 300 million people in this country
00:11:25.200 or 7 billion people on the globe is the hardest part.
00:11:29.100 And you know how you want to stand out?
00:11:30.980 You know how you can stand out quicker than anybody?
00:11:33.880 It's by taking all the shit that everybody else complains about
00:11:39.480 and making it work for you.
00:11:42.840 And I'll see you in that section El Customer 1 rally in самолет lettering area
00:11:47.660 You know how you can stand out more.
00:11:48.540 I probably agree with that, but if you couldn't find out what you wanted,
00:11:51.340 when you areależy about it...
00:11:52.700 ...
00:11:53.740 ...
00:11:53.940 ...
00:11:54.560 ...
00:12:00.200 ...
00:12:00.740 ...
