Real Coffee with Scott Adams - Episode 1885 Scott Adams： Let's Talk About All The Racism And Sexism Against White Men

00:00:00.000 Da-da-da-da-da-da, da-da-da-da-da-do, la-da-da-da-da-da, good morning everybody, and today is the

00:00:11.300 first day of the rest of your amazing life until tomorrow, and so far I think it's a real

00:00:19.900 excellent day, one of the best, possibly the highlight of human civilization, and all you

00:00:27.120 need to make it better is a cup or a mug or a glass-up tank or chalice or stein, a canteen

00:00:31.020 jug or flask, a vessel of any kind, fill it with your favorite liquid, I like coffee, and

00:00:37.240 join me now for the unparalleled pleasure, the dopamine of the day, the thing that makes

00:00:42.460 everything better, it's called the simultaneous sip, and it happens now, go.

00:00:47.460 Oh, yeah, so good, so good, well, should we start with the fake news or the fake racism

00:01:05.960 or the fake war, it seems like nothing's real anymore, it just seems like everything's completely

00:01:14.520 unreal. Well, let's talk about hurricane disinformation. So every time we get a hurricane, the funny

00:01:22.800 thing is that the climate change side of the world, the ones who want that to be the main

00:01:28.680 narrative, they can't help themselves when there's a hurricane, can they? I feel on some

00:01:34.460 level they know that blaming climate change for a specific hurricane has no scientific basis

00:01:42.180 whatsoever, but they can't help it. Have you noticed that? I feel on some level they all

00:01:48.780 know that any one storm or one heat wave or anything, they all know it doesn't mean anything

00:01:55.620 by itself. But boy, do they, they insist. Alex says, wrong, Scott, in all caps. Yeah. So as

00:02:09.320 Michael Schellenberger points out, the mainstream news is once again claiming that the latest

00:02:15.660 hurricane is a sign of climate change, when in fact, it is not. And I love this story about

00:02:23.520 the one community that had basically no serious damage and they didn't lose their electric because

00:02:29.600 it was built to have its own solar power and to have drainage so it didn't even get flooded

00:02:37.060 and it worked. So I think the real, the future is building stuff that doesn't get destroyed in natural

00:02:44.160 disasters. That's what I think is the future. It's a, it's a good future because then we can build better

00:02:50.080 homes that are more suited to normal life. Um, you know, the old saying, be careful what you wish for

00:03:00.180 or, uh, what would happen if the dog actually caught the car? You know, it chases the car, but what if it

00:03:07.360 catches it? What's it going to do? You should be careful what you ask for. I think of this when I hear

00:03:14.120 Judd Apatow, uh, famous producer of very funny movies who says he can't make a movie anymore because,

00:03:22.420 because humor doesn't work. Now Judd, Judd Apatow is notably, you know, very much on the left.

00:03:31.480 So his team won. So congratulations, Judd. Your team is completely victorious and now you can't make

00:03:39.700 movies. And I don't know if he's made the connection. Do you think he's made the connection

00:03:46.400 that it's because his team won that he can't, he can't do his job anymore? He can't make you laugh

00:03:52.240 because his team won. Am I the first person to point that out? That when his side got everything

00:04:00.000 they wanted, they didn't want it? Yeah. Well, there you go. Uh, here's the other funny story. So

00:04:09.400 Rasmussen is reporting, and I'm not too surprised at this, 89% of likely U.S. voters think it's

00:04:16.200 important that, uh, public schools inform the parents about what is being taught in the

00:04:22.180 classrooms. It makes sense, right? Who are the parents who don't want to be informed about what

00:04:28.860 their children are learning? So there were 11% of, 11% of parents are like, I don't care.

00:04:35.180 I didn't even know I had children. You can teach them anything you want. I have children?

00:04:42.820 Wow, that's a surprise. What are their names? I mean, seriously. What parent answers that? I don't

00:04:50.540 care. Teach them whatever you want. You know, you can get somebody to say anything on any poll.

00:04:58.440 But here's the funny part. You know, there's a conversation about what books should be allowed

00:05:05.240 in schools. Now, you've heard that many of the books that are in the school libraries,

00:05:10.120 and maybe even in some cases assigned, have, uh, somewhat explicit sexual scenes in the books.

00:05:18.500 And so there are a lot of parents who say, no, we don't want our children to be exposed

00:05:22.720 to any, uh, descriptions of sex in the book. Now, is there anybody here who's actually a parent?

00:05:35.560 Let, make me a list of all the things you're worried about. Start at the top. Make a, make a long list

00:05:42.360 of everything you're worried about, but put the important things at the top. Where, where, where on your

00:05:49.260 list of things to worry about would be, my child read a text description of sexual practices? Where, where 0.54

00:05:58.360 would that be on your full, your full, uh, criteria? Oh, no. He, he read text, some text of some sex. Do, uh,

00:06:10.640 do any of your children have one of these? It's called a telephone. And they, you know, it can do more

00:06:17.960 than that. It can do more than make, uh, phone calls. You can get pictures on this with just about

00:06:23.100 anything you want. Moving pictures, too. Actual video. This thing will do video if you want.

00:06:29.440 Do you know that children have access to this, right? They have access to every sexual act in video

00:06:37.780 from every angle with every kind of person. You want midgets and animals? You got it. You got it. 1.00

00:06:46.860 You got it. Horses and people? No problem. We got it right here. But you know what I want to worry about

00:06:52.960 is having my children, uh, exposed to text descriptions of sexual practices.

00:07:01.140 And I hear somebody say, uh, no, Scott, parental controls. Uh, how are your parental controls working?

00:07:13.060 Now, is part of your parental controls, does that include, um, have you found a way that your

00:07:21.800 children can't get messages? Did you block them from communicating? Because you know other people

00:07:28.860 send them stuff, right? It's not just them going to a website. Their friends will send them anything

00:07:34.660 they want. Now, does your parental control include not letting your children have any access to other

00:07:41.680 children in person or, or digitally? Because if your children have any access to other children,

00:07:48.760 they have access to everything. Full video of every sexual practice. What do you think they're 0.62

00:07:55.420 looking at on sleepovers? Do you think they do the sleepovers and they're not sharing videos of

00:08:01.800 gross, incredible things that they found on the internet? How would you not? Remember yourself in seventh

00:08:10.440 grade. Remember yourself in seventh grade, and then somebody hands you a device that can find every

00:08:18.340 disgusting, horrible, inappropriate picture in the world. And you're in seventh grade, and you're with

00:08:25.860 your friends, and nobody's looking. Now, tell me where on the list is your concern about the text

00:08:34.520 descriptions in a book. It's just funny that we even talk about that. Give up. You know, I can't give

00:08:45.560 you good advice on what to do if you have kids, because there isn't any way to stop any of it. None of it.

00:08:52.940 You just have to sort of accept that your kids have full access to everything, and they will look at it.

00:08:59.220 Now, I don't know that that's hurting anybody. I wouldn't choose it, right? You know, short of

00:09:08.340 having any kind of scientific information one way or the other, I would definitely not choose to

00:09:13.940 expose young people to all kinds of, you know, let's say, things above their grade. I wouldn't do it.

00:09:20.780 But there isn't any way to stop it. You know that, right? There's literally no way to stop it. There's

00:09:27.760 not even a little bit of a way. Nothing. You know, you could try your little parental controls,

00:09:32.940 but that's not going to make any difference. So I don't know what to do. I don't have a good answer

00:09:37.440 for that. Amazingly, something I don't have a good answer for. Yeah. Surprising.

00:09:43.600 How many people laughed when I said that the Russian military might be on the brink of collapse?

00:09:55.500 How many of you said, Scott, Scott, Scott. Oh, Scott. Oh. Cartoonist? Maybe you should listen

00:10:07.360 to the military experts and maybe not be spouting off about your cartooning stupidity when you could 1.00

00:10:14.280 be listening to actual military experts. Retired General H.R. McMasters said yesterday the Russian 1.00

00:10:21.780 army is on the verge of a moral collapse. Well, now it sounds a lot smarter. Now that it came from

00:10:29.740 H.R. McMasters, I mean, first of all, listen to his name. How could he be wrong with a name like

00:10:37.660 that? H.R. McMaster. When you get a name like that, everything you say is correct. You know who

00:10:45.320 you shouldn't listen to? P.L. McSlave. Don't listen to that guy. I don't know. There's no guy named

00:10:52.700 that. But if somebody was named P.L. McSlave, nobody would pay attention. But when H.R. McMaster

00:11:01.120 talks to you, stop everything. H.R. McMaster says the Russian army might be on the verge of a moral

00:11:10.920 collapse. If there's a moral collapse, the army collapses, right? I don't think the, oh, yeah,

00:11:21.200 maybe he said morale collapse. Yeah, maybe morale. But I think it could be moral, too. I think

00:11:29.500 it could be both. I feel like both of them work in this context, but he probably meant

00:11:34.220 morale. I did copy and paste it. So there was a typo in what I copied and pasted from the

00:11:42.700 news. But anyway, what do you think? Do you think the Russian army is on the verge of a

00:11:51.400 morale collapse? Because that really means the whole army. Still some no's. Well, here's

00:12:00.760 what we know. It's been a while since the Russians did anything that looked like a success. Am I 0.99

00:12:10.580 wrong? In the beginning, there was like the Russia's, Russia did this, Ukraine did this,

00:12:16.620 but there was plenty of stories of both of them having alleged successes. Now there are

00:12:22.420 no stories. There are no stories of Russian success, not even from Russia. Even Russia doesn't

00:12:30.360 have a story to tell, except, you know, annexation, which is just bullshit. But on the ground, they 0.98

00:12:35.900 have nothing. 100% of the reporting is pro-Ukrainian now. Now, I warn you all the time that everything

00:12:47.240 that comes out of that area is sketchy and can't be relied on. But I think it does mean

00:12:52.620 something when 100% of the news flips one way, and one of the sides that makes up fake news

00:12:58.800 just gave up making up fake news. There wasn't even anything they could fake anymore.

00:13:05.820 I think Russia's done. I think the military is collapsing. I don't even think it's on the

00:13:14.380 verge of. I think it's actively collapsing right now. And it's because there's just no positive

00:13:20.760 anything anywhere. And Putin's talking about desperate measures, you know, do something political,

00:13:27.520 threaten with the nukes and maybe get some negotiating? Do you know what we should not do?

00:13:34.700 We meaning everybody but Russia, I guess. Do you know what Ukraine should not do? They should 1.00

00:13:40.220 definitely not negotiate. You don't negotiate when you're winning, do you? Nobody negotiates

00:13:47.260 when they're winning. So the side that's asking for negotiations is usually the one that's not

00:13:55.800 confident. The side that says, not yet. I would say that this would not be a good time to negotiate.

00:14:03.100 How about no? That's the side that's winning. So we'll keep an eye on that, but it looks like

00:14:11.020 it's just complete collapse at this point.

00:14:13.740 If you were to make a list of what American policies China would like America to have

00:14:23.060 for China's benefit, what would that list look like? You know, if China could have its way

00:14:30.660 and influence America, what would they influence them to do? And would that list that China wants

00:14:38.440 look exactly like what the Democrats want? Well, let's check. Here are some things I would think

00:14:47.360 that China would want America to be influenced to do. To have a bad energy policy. Correct? All right.

00:14:55.680 That Democrats would like us to have a bad energy policy. I'm not even going to pretend that it's

00:15:01.280 just a different policy. In something, you know, I think you've noticed that I try to be objective

00:15:07.960 and not call one policy bad and one policy good. Just say, you know, some prefer this one. There's

00:15:15.040 pluses and minuses. But as far as energy policy, I think we're way beyond there being a difference of

00:15:22.900 opinion. We have a bad energy policy. That's just a fact. All right. I don't think you can, you can't

00:15:30.480 really shade that in any other way. So of course, China would want us to have a bad energy policy. So we got

00:15:36.220 that. Soft on crime. Democrats want that. China would want that for us. They'd want us to have 0.89

00:15:42.900 uncompetitive schools. The Democrats favor the teachers unions, which is the cause of uncompetitive

00:15:48.900 schools. Let's see. What else would the Chinese want that the Democrats would want? Porous borders.

00:15:55.540 They would want our borders to not be secure. China would want that. Democrats want it too.

00:16:01.620 China would want us to have ineffective fentanyl policies. We do. Now, you could argue that the

00:16:10.260 Republicans haven't done better, and I do. They're a little, at least they talk tougher on it.

00:16:14.900 China would want the U.S. to have relatively less military spending. That sounds like a Democrat 0.69

00:16:24.080 policy. China would want to stop Trump, I think. Don't you think? I don't think China wants Trump

00:16:31.940 to be president, and Democrats agree. And of course, China would like the U.S. to be super woke,

00:16:39.020 because that's the one thing that could destroy the diversity's superpower. And I've said this 1.00

00:16:47.200 before. I think I'll say it a lot of times, because it's one of those things that's worth

00:16:50.940 saying a lot of times. I never used to think that diversity was an advantage, because it just

00:16:57.480 gave you reasons to fight with each other. But in the world scenario, where people can leave

00:17:04.640 a country and go to another country, I think it is an advantage. Because basically, we've created a

00:17:10.440 brand in the United States where everybody has a reasonable shot. So if you're the best of the

00:17:16.720 best in some other country, where are you going to go? I mean, there aren't that many places you

00:17:22.000 could go where you have a good, you know, good civilization, but also we're more likely to welcome

00:17:27.700 you no matter who you are. That's a real superpower. And we don't want to lose that. The one way you

00:17:33.540 could lose that is by increasing your wokeness to the point where nobody can talk to each other.

00:17:40.460 And then your diversity ends up being a fight. So China would want more wokeness, because that's 1.00

00:17:47.400 what gets us fighting internally. Am I right that there's a disturbing correlation between the

00:17:58.000 Democrat preferences and China? It's very similar. Very similar. Do you think China wants us to be

00:18:04.920 super capitalist or more socialist? Well, China would want us to be more socialist, because that

00:18:12.640 means our money would be going internally to things that don't bother them, and maybe less of it would

00:18:18.480 be focused internationally. So it's pretty startling when you look at it that something like 80% of the

00:18:27.640 Democrat platform is the same thing that China would want for us if they could design our system 0.98

00:18:34.400 to make us less competitive. Now, it is true that people like Schumer are saying directly we should decouple

00:18:43.520 from China militarily.

00:18:48.520 All right. So, you know, everybody's on the same page about that. But yet, the Democrats are much

00:18:54.000 closer to what China would want for America. Hard to avoid seeing that. So Biden says, I'm being,

00:19:02.160 he said the other yesterday, I guess, I'm being banged up by the Republicans, but bring it on.

00:19:06.920 We can afford to cancel 10,000 in student debts. And they went on to say that 70% of black college

00:19:12.960 students receive a Pell Grant. For many black students, this loan forgiveness will wipe out 0.99

00:19:18.040 student debt completely. Can somebody answer this question? I thought a Pell Grant was a grant.

00:19:26.500 Is that a loan? Isn't a grant already free? So is he actually, does he actually not know the difference

00:19:39.260 between a grant and a loan?

00:19:43.660 I'm a little confused. So if he really doesn't know the difference between a grant and a loan,

00:19:55.780 we've got more problems than I thought. Although I have to confess, I didn't even notice when I

00:20:00.600 first read it. Somebody had to point that out to me. I actually read that and it didn't even

00:20:05.060 didn't even register to me that he wants to pay off a grant. That'd be funny to give them a grant

00:20:13.560 and then give them some money to pay off the grant. That would be the dumbest thing. All right. 0.99

00:20:23.480 So I think we should at least think about calling, you know, any direct payments or grants

00:20:29.720 part of reparations. Just because it causes a fight.

00:20:35.460 All right. There's a new study that says,

00:20:39.640 I tweeted this today,

00:20:42.400 that women are three to 15 times more likely to be selected

00:20:46.360 as members of the American Academy of Arts and Science and National Academy of Science

00:20:50.680 than men with similar publication and citation records.

00:20:56.840 So did you know that?

00:20:58.220 If you're a man, you're much, much less likely to be selected for this,

00:21:04.960 must be a prestigious scientific organization. 0.98

00:21:08.900 What is left out is, what are your odds if you're a black man? 0.84

00:21:15.300 Because that would be interesting too, wouldn't it? 0.98

00:21:17.460 If you're a black man, do you think you have just as much trouble being 0.62

00:21:20.720 accepted in this academy? 0.97

00:21:23.120 Or would it be as easy as if you were a woman? 0.74

00:21:27.500 I feel like it would be similar.

00:21:31.000 So really, this is not so much a story about women having, you know,

00:21:34.980 a current temporary advantage.

00:21:37.260 Because again, historically, obviously it was different.

00:21:40.200 But I think they're leaving out the fact that it's really white males

00:21:46.280 who are discriminated directly, I would assume.

00:21:50.140 Now, when I said that, did that sound like I was saying that white men are victims? 0.93

00:22:01.300 Because I'm having a number of black racists are coming after me on Twitter. 0.99

00:22:06.860 A whole bunch of black racists just saying terrible anti-white male stuff, as usual. 0.99

00:22:13.620 But of course, that's okay. 1.00

00:22:15.160 You know, you can do that on Twitter. 0.95

00:22:16.580 You can be racist against white guys.

00:22:19.140 Totally permitted.

00:22:22.000 Totally permitted.

00:22:27.680 Yeah.

00:22:29.000 Anyway, I think I had a point I was going to make.

00:22:31.320 But never mind.

00:22:32.920 I'll get back to that.

00:22:35.140 I would pay for this Twitter feature.

00:22:37.680 And I mean this completely seriously.

00:22:39.580 My entire Twitter experience, 90% of the negativity comes from writers, artists, and editors.

00:22:50.940 Now, I wonder if that's common to other people.

00:22:54.040 Or is that just something about me?

00:22:56.700 I'm going to start blocking all the people making Shelley comments,

00:22:59.460 only because it's the NPC thing to do.

00:23:02.540 You know?

00:23:02.680 YouTube, if there are anybody there who's an NPC,

00:23:08.780 what you want to do is, no matter what else I'm talking about,

00:23:13.300 yell something about Shelley.

00:23:17.360 Right?

00:23:17.880 Because it's the most common and obvious thing to say.

00:23:23.200 It has no use to the world, so it's like perfect NPC stuff.

00:23:27.240 And it's annoying to everybody.

00:23:29.940 So just keep saying that name over and over again.

00:23:34.120 Shelley.

00:23:34.660 What about Shelley?

00:23:36.140 Because that's funny.

00:23:37.240 Ha ha.

00:23:37.760 Ha ha ha ha ha ha.

00:23:39.840 It's so funny.

00:23:41.020 So thank you for doing that.

00:23:44.420 NPCs?

00:23:44.900 So yeah, if I could get, if I could simply not see,

00:23:50.580 not see,

00:23:51.980 if I could simply N-O-T space S-E-E,

00:23:58.220 all tweets from writers, artists, editors,

00:24:01.580 anybody who has anything political in their profile,

00:24:04.760 I don't want to see a Ukraine flag or rainbow BLM. 1.00

00:24:08.860 You know, I don't want to see that little blue wave thing.

00:24:13.100 None of that stuff.

00:24:13.960 I just don't want to see any of their comments.

00:24:19.300 Now, and I'm not saying I have like something against,

00:24:24.480 you know, rainbow people.

00:24:26.660 I love my rainbow people.

00:24:28.520 I just don't want to see their comments on Twitter.

00:24:31.400 You can put them anywhere else.

00:24:33.140 Or you can just get rid of that stuff in you.

00:24:35.500 Because these, all of these things signal,

00:24:38.340 they signal a lack of seriousness.

00:24:40.960 I guess that's what it is.

00:24:43.900 They signal that I'm not here to find something that works.

00:24:49.140 I'm here to cause trouble.

00:24:51.300 I feel that's what the signal is.

00:24:53.960 Don't you?

00:24:55.120 Yeah, it's like I support the current thing.

00:24:57.040 So there's really no point in even having any kind of attempted constructive dialogue

00:25:04.360 with somebody who's signaling to you that's not why they're here.

00:25:08.560 Yeah, they're here for the play.

00:25:10.500 All right.

00:25:17.460 Have you noticed that Democrats are going to have a tough time selling their accomplishments?

00:25:23.860 Because there's something about their accomplishments that maybe you've noticed.

00:25:27.840 There's a pattern.

00:25:28.480 One, the things that Democrats have, quote, accomplished.

00:25:34.400 What is it that they, there's a weird thing that it all has in common.

00:25:39.620 It's all sort of conceptual and invisible.

00:25:44.780 For example, Biden passed some legislation for infrastructure.

00:25:51.220 Do you see any?

00:25:53.760 Have you driven over any of his infrastructure?

00:25:56.220 It's invisible.

00:25:58.980 Either it hasn't started yet, or it's happening somewhere where I don't live,

00:26:02.620 or I wouldn't recognize it if I saw it.

00:26:05.220 And I'm not saying it wasn't good to do.

00:26:07.200 That's a separate argument.

00:26:08.940 I'm saying that his accomplishment, the thing he would call his accomplishment,

00:26:12.020 you can't see it.

00:26:13.300 Now, how about inflation?

00:26:15.840 Can you see it?

00:26:17.940 It's like a number right there on your gas, your gas pump.

00:26:23.020 What about immigration?

00:26:26.220 And migration?

00:26:27.540 You can see it.

00:26:29.060 There are pictures of people coming across all the time.

00:26:31.660 What about homeless?

00:26:33.200 Homelessness.

00:26:34.360 You can see it.

00:26:35.700 It's right there.

00:26:37.440 What about the war in Ukraine?

00:26:39.960 There it is.

00:26:41.280 You can see it.

00:26:43.060 I feel like everything that they're doing wrong, you can see.

00:26:46.180 And everything that they would claim as a victory would be something like,

00:26:51.620 well, we talked about relieving student debt.

00:26:55.240 We talked about it.

00:26:57.900 I don't think it'll get approved.

00:27:00.120 We released something from the reserves, the oil reserves.

00:27:05.760 And the number on the pump went down for a while, but then it went back up.

00:27:11.940 It was like, was that even real?

00:27:14.420 I never even saw a picture of the reserve.

00:27:17.280 It was like a concept.

00:27:18.340 Again, I heard some talk, and then something happened in the pump, but it didn't last.

00:27:25.560 So the Democrats, I believe, are going to go full negative in their campaigning,

00:27:32.500 because it's all they have that you can see.

00:27:34.880 If they say we added some wokeness to the system, can you see it?

00:27:41.760 We improved the ratio of diversity somewhere.

00:27:46.960 Did you notice?

00:27:48.940 It's all invisible stuff.

00:27:52.080 So the best argument that they have is they're going to try to paint a Trump world as a fascist

00:28:00.460 dystopia where everything's falling apart.

00:28:02.520 It's actually all they have is to lie about the other side.

00:28:10.380 Which is amazing, if you think about it.

00:28:12.940 Now, if I were the Republicans, I would make the list of what China's priorities are, 0.97

00:28:17.980 and then I would match it up to the priorities of the Democrats,

00:28:21.260 and I would say, well, it's the same.

00:28:24.380 It's the same.

00:28:25.360 You could actually say that you're running against China and the Democrats,

00:28:29.320 because you are.

00:28:31.480 Right?

00:28:31.920 The Democrats are so close to the Chinese preferences that it's like you're running against China.

00:28:37.900 Makes you wonder how good China is at influencing things over here. 0.95

00:28:42.000 Because it's sort of a big coincidence, isn't it?

00:28:45.520 That it's sort of a big coincidence that things are going the way China would want them to go.

00:28:53.040 Well, that feels like a coincidence.

00:28:54.600 So, here's the latest outrage.

00:28:58.900 So, Kamala Harris said that the hurricane relief in Florida should be based on considerations of equity.

00:29:08.620 What's that mean?

00:29:10.560 So, the money, the recovery should be based on considerations of equity.

00:29:15.860 The only thing that means is less for white men, right? 0.89

00:29:22.940 Am I right? 0.73

00:29:24.220 Equity only means less for white men. 0.81

00:29:27.180 Why not just call it that?

00:29:29.420 We're used to it.

00:29:31.420 You don't have to sugarcoat it.

00:29:35.380 Call it what it is.

00:29:36.080 You want white men to get less relative to what other people would get.

00:29:41.640 Now, she has an argument for it.

00:29:45.140 Just say it.

00:29:46.860 White men have a lot. 0.94

00:29:49.100 Other people have less.

00:29:51.360 She'd like to balance it out.

00:29:53.180 Just say it.

00:29:54.180 Just say it right out loud.

00:29:55.160 White men have a lot of stuff compared to other people. 0.98

00:29:59.840 So, we'd like to help the people who are in a bigger hole.

00:30:03.240 To me, that doesn't even sound bad.

00:30:05.780 Not really.

00:30:08.660 I think it makes me mad that when you try to take my money and lie to me,

00:30:13.560 it's worse than if you just say, look, I'd like to take your money.

00:30:17.500 And we're going to help these other people.

00:30:19.780 Because you're doing fine.

00:30:21.000 But these other people are not doing so well.

00:30:23.500 So, we're going to take some of your money and give it to these other people.

00:30:27.060 Well, I wouldn't like it.

00:30:29.100 But at least it would be honest.

00:30:31.140 At least it's honest.

00:30:32.820 I could deal with that.

00:30:34.340 I mean, I could have a conversation about that.

00:30:36.580 But if you're trying to fool me into thinking that you're using some other word, equity,

00:30:42.900 just say what it is.

00:30:44.460 Less for white males. 0.90

00:30:46.580 So that there would be more for other people.

00:30:48.880 And you think that that's a better world.

00:30:51.640 Make your case.

00:30:53.420 Just make your case.

00:30:55.120 You don't have to hide it.

00:30:59.880 All right.

00:31:07.060 Yeah, equity means the actual outcomes, right?

00:31:10.200 I don't think she's trying to make everything the same outcome,

00:31:13.520 but moving things in that direction.

00:31:15.740 You know, and again, did it sound like I was being a victim?

00:31:19.140 So, here's where you're coming from changes your filter on everything.

00:31:26.660 When I talk about this, I don't feel like a victim.

00:31:29.800 Do you know why?

00:31:30.360 Well, why is it that I don't feel like a victim when I say directly people want to take things from people like me and give it to people less like me?

00:31:40.600 The reason I don't feel like a victim.

00:31:43.020 The reason I don't feel like a victim, well, part of it is, you know, because I'm rich.

00:31:46.860 Okay.

00:31:47.620 So that's part of it.

00:31:48.520 But even when I wasn't, I didn't feel so much like a victim.

00:31:53.120 Do you know why?

00:31:54.020 Because I had plenty of options.

00:31:57.720 So I just go from, if I'm somewhere where there's a disadvantage, I just leave there and I go where I have an advantage.

00:32:06.140 I grew up in a small town in upstate New York.

00:32:09.920 I didn't stay.

00:32:11.700 If I stayed, I would have no opportunity.

00:32:13.980 So I left.

00:32:15.960 When I worked at a company that said, you know, for a while, and we can't tell you how long, we're not going to promote white people or white men, only white men, really.

00:32:26.140 So I left.

00:32:28.660 And I went where I didn't have, you know, that kind of pressure.

00:32:32.780 And then I succeeded.

00:32:33.700 We have a weird situation in the economy right now where anybody qualified can get a job.

00:32:44.980 Anybody.

00:32:45.920 Literally anybody qualified can get a job.

00:32:48.360 It's a weird time in history.

00:32:51.360 So if you can leave where you are, your cousin was in NXIVM.

00:32:56.680 That's interesting.

00:32:57.980 If you can leave where you are and go to someplace great, it's not the biggest problem in the world.

00:33:04.160 It really isn't.

00:33:05.540 So I don't feel like a victim because I have mobility and I have an education.

00:33:10.560 If I didn't have an education and I didn't have mobility, I would feel like a victim for sure.

00:33:15.900 Very much so.

00:33:18.100 Do you know what?

00:33:18.520 There's an excellent Instagram account.

00:33:24.760 I wish I remembered its name.

00:33:26.180 It's something like American Incomes.

00:33:27.800 Where there's a young man who just stops people on the street and asks them what they do for a living and what their income is.

00:33:38.960 And how long they've done it and, you know, what kind of job.

00:33:41.840 It's actually the most fascinating thing.

00:33:44.640 First of all, it's fascinating that people would answer the question.

00:33:47.960 But I actually learned quite a bit listening to people say what their income was.

00:33:53.760 Here's the big shocker.

00:33:56.120 You know, they go to the software developer.

00:34:00.420 They go, what's your income?

00:34:01.460 He's like $125,000 a year.

00:34:05.580 Some were like $200,000 a year.

00:34:07.340 And I'm thinking to myself, pretty good.

00:34:09.960 Not bad.

00:34:11.140 Software developer is a pretty good job.

00:34:12.820 $125,000 to $190,000, $200,000.

00:34:15.980 Not bad.

00:34:17.480 And then they talk to a truck driver.

00:34:21.720 $300,000.

00:34:24.880 Truck driver.

00:34:26.280 And I think it's because he owns his own company.

00:34:29.320 Now, I don't know what that means.

00:34:31.060 Maybe he has more than one truck?

00:34:32.580 Or that owning a truck is the company?

00:34:34.400 I'm not sure.

00:34:34.860 But, and then they talk to a concrete guy.

00:34:40.480 All right.

00:34:40.880 So the concrete guy comes out.

00:34:42.900 They go, what do you do?

00:34:43.560 He goes, I'm in concrete.

00:34:45.200 What did you make last year?

00:34:46.760 $300,000 or $400,000.

00:34:51.280 Yeah.

00:34:52.480 Then they talk to the real estate guys.

00:34:55.300 And the real estate guys are like, I made a million dollars.

00:34:59.780 Million dollars.

00:35:00.540 It's also interesting to see the composition of the people.

00:35:07.740 You know, you see the bedraggled looking people just killing it. 1.00

00:35:13.200 And so people are really put together, not killing it at all.

00:35:16.920 And it just is a real eye opener about how many types of people there are and how many opportunities there are.

00:35:22.280 And if you chose a job that doesn't have much of an upside, well, well, there you go.

00:35:32.620 All right.

00:35:34.120 So we got science discriminating against men.

00:35:37.940 We got everybody discriminating against everybody.

00:35:42.540 All right.

00:35:44.700 Is there anything else going on?

00:35:52.140 Talent and desire.

00:35:53.900 This needs to be the next theme in Dilbert.

00:35:55.920 What does?

00:36:00.680 How much did they spend after taxes?

00:36:02.880 That's a good question.

00:36:05.160 So I guess the Jeffrey Dahmer movie was getting some criticism by the LGBTQ community.

00:36:12.540 Because he was a little too gay. 1.00

00:36:14.440 He's gay and a cannibal. 1.00

00:36:16.200 We don't like that. 1.00

00:36:17.380 That's bad for the brand. 0.99

00:36:22.500 Let's get rid of this troll. 0.55

00:36:25.380 Put the user in timeout. 0.78

00:36:29.140 Anybody else?

00:36:30.140 Is VP Harris protecting herself by trying to be the equities are? 0.93

00:36:41.240 No, I don't think that really protects her.

00:36:43.740 I mean, I see what you're saying, but that's not much protection.

00:36:46.420 I don't even think the Democrats want her.

00:36:49.820 Do they?

00:36:50.380 Do they?

00:36:50.400 Yeah, I wasn't really interested in the Dahmer movie.

00:36:57.740 Do you watch movies where just bad things happen to people?

00:37:02.160 You should really take my rule that if you watch a movie, as soon as somebody is tied to a chair, you should turn it off.

00:37:11.800 Is anybody on board?

00:37:14.980 If you see a movie and anybody is tied to a chair, as soon as you see it, just turn it off and never go back to it.

00:37:22.900 Because if that's the best you can do, is yet another thing about somebody tied to a chair, you do not deserve to be making movies.

00:37:32.880 If that's the best you can do.

00:37:34.420 I also don't watch car chase scenes.

00:37:39.320 I fast forward through them.

00:37:41.960 Because you know what a car chase scene looks like?

00:37:48.820 My face.

00:37:53.180 My face.

00:37:55.560 How many times do you want to go back and forth between somebody's face and something happening really quickly that's hard to see?

00:38:02.520 And then fight scenes.

00:38:05.960 Do you fast forward through the fight scenes?

00:38:08.020 I started fast forwarding through all group fight scenes.

00:38:11.740 If it's one-on-one, I might watch it because there might be something interesting dialogue.

00:38:15.760 But if it's the one hero against the 25 people in the bar, fast forward.

00:38:21.300 Yep, yep, yep, yep.

00:38:22.360 He wins again.

00:38:23.620 Fast forward.

00:38:24.060 How about the scenes where they're establishing that the two people are very much in love because they're going to kill the woman pretty soon?

00:38:34.400 How about that one?

00:38:35.780 Because you know the wife is going to be dead. 0.98

00:38:38.260 Or kidnapped or something, right?

00:38:41.020 As soon as the movie people start acting fake sexy, I'm like, ugh.

00:38:49.060 Is there some kind of acting school where they teach you how not to be attractive to another person?

00:38:59.700 Yeah, I can't even do an impression of how bad it is to watch movie people pretend they're in love.

00:39:06.000 Oh my God, it's so bad.

00:39:08.460 Fast forward.

00:39:09.040 So I won't watch any romantic scene.

00:39:12.120 And if they try to put sex in it to try to turn me on, I'll be like, you're an R-rated movie.

00:39:17.700 Good luck. 0.73

00:39:18.360 Boom.

00:39:18.800 Fast forward.

00:39:21.740 Right?

00:39:22.480 So I don't want to see any chase scene.

00:39:24.440 I don't want to see any fight scene.

00:39:26.580 I don't want to see any torture scene.

00:39:28.440 I don't want to see any romance scene.

00:39:29.920 I still do kind of like the dialogue scenes among bad guys and good guys, and good guys who are rogues and their bosses.

00:39:41.360 Like, sometimes the dialogue is good, and everything else is just filler.

00:39:45.800 When I watch a Marvel movie, I fast forward through the action scenes.

00:39:52.720 I mean, think about that.

00:39:54.540 These are movies that are made entirely for the action scenes, pretty much.

00:39:58.380 I fast forward through that stuff.

00:40:00.540 There's nothing interesting in those.

00:40:02.560 They all look the same now.

00:40:06.020 How many Spider-Man movies are there?

00:40:08.680 It's just all the same movie, isn't it?

00:40:10.960 Every Spartan-Man is exactly the same as the last Spider-Man.

00:40:17.120 But the worst one of all is Doctor Strange.

00:40:20.420 I do like Doctor Strange, because I like the actor and some of the dialogue and stuff.

00:40:24.820 But you can't really make a movie about magic.

00:40:28.380 Because the ending is always the same.

00:40:32.220 Well, somebody used some magic.

00:40:35.320 And then in between, there was like some fight.

00:40:38.120 But one of the things that all the magicians have to do is not use their good spells right away.

00:40:44.480 Have you noticed that?

00:40:46.180 Super, super bad villain.

00:40:47.720 And I'll use my little spell where I'll send a little bit of a fireball your way. 0.98

00:40:53.780 And then the other wizard will be like, stop the fireball.

00:40:58.660 Shoot it back.

00:40:59.460 And I'm thinking to myself, well, was that like your best magic there?

00:41:05.020 And then later they'll be like, bringing down skyscrapers on the other one.

00:41:09.740 And I'm thinking to myself, well, start with a skyscraper.

00:41:13.400 What's a little ball of fire going to do to another wizard? 1.00

00:41:16.300 So they have to write the thing where the wizards are all stupid until the end. 0.99

00:41:25.000 Then the wizards use their magic or something to win. 0.98

00:41:28.620 It's like, as soon as you've introduced magic, you can't really write a story about it. 0.98

00:41:33.040 Because you have to take their magic away with stupid magic reasons. 0.97

00:41:42.260 Right, we should just watch Happy Gilmore and be done with everything else. 0.98

00:41:46.980 So we can't have any comedies, because everything's woke.

00:41:52.220 And the action movies are literally all just the same movie.

00:41:55.900 There's no point in watching them at all.

00:42:00.760 No, not a fan of Lord of the Rings.

00:42:03.040 I have tried to watch the Lord of the Rings.

00:42:07.540 But the Lord of the Rings is all just the same scene over again.

00:42:12.480 Strange characters are in danger.

00:42:15.660 I guess some orcs are coming.

00:42:17.500 You better fight them.

00:42:19.680 It's like, it's just the same scene repeated over and over

00:42:23.320 with different orcs and different creatures.

00:42:26.560 That's it.

00:42:33.040 How about the Matrix?

00:42:34.500 The Matrix was innovative.

00:42:38.420 Yeah.

00:42:39.540 The Matrix was innovative.

00:42:41.180 Even the fight scenes in the Matrix were not boring.

00:42:44.100 Another one that satisfied me was Crouching Tiger.

00:42:48.660 What's the rest of that?

00:42:52.260 Something, something.

00:42:54.120 Crouching Tiger.

00:42:55.320 Hidden Dragon.

00:42:57.180 Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.

00:42:58.720 Because the fight scenes were fantastic.

00:43:02.240 I mean, as in fantasy.

00:43:04.140 You know, where they could sort of fly a little bit.

00:43:06.280 You know, they had some cool powers and stuff.

00:43:08.800 All right.

00:43:19.260 All right.

00:43:19.980 Anything else happening today? 0.86

00:43:25.820 Oh, the trolls. 0.91

00:43:28.700 You are hidden. 0.98

00:43:31.820 You know, I would love to interview trolls.

00:43:34.080 So, for example, there's somebody on YouTube right now

00:43:39.200 who just now wants to create new accounts and say,

00:43:42.760 Shelly, Shelly, Shelly.

00:43:44.220 So he's spending his time trying to make my live stream

00:43:48.620 less interesting for other people.

00:43:51.960 And I wonder, how many people are actually wired

00:43:55.360 where their main operating system is just

00:43:58.140 to make things worse for other people?

00:44:01.120 Like, who has that as their go-to?

00:44:02.820 Well, I woke up today.

00:44:04.960 I made something a little harder for somebody I don't know.

00:44:09.120 I mean, somebody says their wife.

00:44:12.480 And I feel it's like there's some people

00:44:14.300 who need that friction in their life to feel complete.

00:44:18.600 Are they abused people?

00:44:20.380 They're people who are abused

00:44:21.420 and they feel they're abusing you back.

00:44:23.880 Maybe.

00:44:25.020 I feel like I remind people of their abuser or something.

00:44:28.740 Because there are definitely people who come after me

00:44:30.440 who have some kind of mental problem they're working through.

00:44:35.160 As in they've been damaged somehow

00:44:36.700 and they have to hurt me to feel better somehow.

00:44:39.060 I'm not really following the Brazilian elections.

00:44:47.280 But I would love to have an actual conversation 0.78

00:44:49.240 with one of my worst trolls

00:44:51.520 and see what would happen if I talked to them in person

00:44:54.380 and say,

00:44:56.440 can you explain to me what you're trying to accomplish?

00:44:59.520 And I think they would say something like,

00:45:01.680 you know, you deserve it

00:45:03.520 or it's because of all the bad things you do.

00:45:06.280 And then I would say, could you name one?

00:45:08.640 And they won't have any example.

00:45:10.240 There'll be literally no example.

00:45:12.380 But they'll be pretty sure that I'm on some team

00:45:14.740 they don't like so that they have to hurt me.

00:45:17.780 Yeah.

00:45:18.380 But I'd love to know what's behind that.

00:45:20.340 I don't think it's exactly envy.

00:45:24.620 It's like there is a,

00:45:26.300 and it's mostly a male thing, right?

00:45:30.220 It's mostly a male thing.

00:45:31.500 So men like to hurt successful things.

00:45:35.780 It's sort of an impulse we have.

00:45:39.280 You have an opinion on climate change?

00:45:43.200 Is there somebody here so new

00:45:44.820 you don't know my opinion on climate change?

00:45:48.540 Let me state it clearly in case somebody doesn't know.

00:45:52.020 I do believe the basic science of climate change,

00:45:55.540 which is if you add certain stuff to the atmosphere,

00:45:58.420 if everything else stayed the same,

00:46:01.640 it would make it warmer.

00:46:03.460 So I think that's true.

00:46:04.840 Because I think that's,

00:46:05.860 you can demonstrate that in too many ways,

00:46:09.080 including in a laboratory and a test.

00:46:11.300 So I think that part is probably true.

00:46:15.000 I think that the evidence that it's the sun

00:46:17.740 has been debunked sufficiently,

00:46:19.980 that I ignore that.

00:46:21.120 I do think that,

00:46:23.820 like all science,

00:46:25.540 we could be really surprised.

00:46:27.840 Maybe tomorrow we find out

00:46:29.280 that the debunks about the sun

00:46:31.020 were not so debunking after all.

00:46:33.520 Maybe we find out that

00:46:34.660 the people who think it's the sun

00:46:36.180 and somehow have never bothered

00:46:38.260 to Google the debunk,

00:46:41.840 you should take five minutes

00:46:43.600 and just Google whatever you think is true

00:46:46.160 and then the word debunk.

00:46:48.340 It's quite an eye-opener.

00:46:49.660 Take anything you think is true

00:46:51.760 and then Google it with the word debunk

00:46:54.580 and there it will be.

00:46:57.860 So I'm just not a believer

00:47:00.680 that we can predict a catastrophe

00:47:02.600 because I think the innovation

00:47:05.460 is the part that will save us

00:47:09.160 because it always does.

00:47:10.880 And I think we're getting closer and closer

00:47:12.660 to technologies that will completely solve it.

00:47:15.140 So, it does make sense

00:47:21.740 that if you change the chemistry

00:47:24.440 of the atmosphere,

00:47:25.560 it should make some difference.

00:47:27.220 I don't think that's in question.

00:47:32.140 You are surprised to learn

00:47:33.780 that we receive no heat from the sun.

00:47:38.000 What?

00:47:39.040 You mean, well,

00:47:40.380 we receive energy from the sun,

00:47:42.220 which converts into heat.

00:47:46.240 I guess that's what you mean.

00:47:49.780 All right.

00:47:50.280 The correlation of solar activity

00:47:57.120 to global temperature is solid,

00:47:59.020 some people say.

00:48:00.020 So that's a very common belief

00:48:02.260 on the right,

00:48:03.840 that if you looked at solar patterns,

00:48:06.260 it would map to warming.

00:48:07.980 But I would ask you again

00:48:10.340 just to Google that

00:48:12.660 and the word debunk,

00:48:13.960 and you'll find it thoroughly debunked.

00:48:15.980 Now, if you've never seen the debunks,

00:48:19.200 you need to do it

00:48:20.340 and stop talking about it.

00:48:22.020 If you've read all the debunks

00:48:23.840 and you believe that you can tell

00:48:25.860 what is true,

00:48:27.340 you know,

00:48:27.580 the solar flare idea

00:48:29.680 or the debunk,

00:48:31.140 then I would argue

00:48:31.980 that you're fooling yourself

00:48:33.500 because you can't tell.

00:48:35.520 You can't tell.

00:48:36.180 Somebody says,

00:48:43.480 kleiboscience is bunk

00:48:45.060 because they've made

00:48:46.100 so many bad predictions

00:48:48.280 in the past.

00:48:49.180 You know that's bad,

00:48:50.260 bad thinking, right?

00:48:52.560 Because everything that works

00:48:55.020 went through a period,

00:48:57.240 sometimes a long period,

00:48:58.440 where it didn't.

00:49:01.340 So nothing could fly

00:49:03.380 until something did.

00:49:06.180 So we had hundreds of years

00:49:07.800 of people trying to fly

00:49:09.060 and crashing and dying 0.68

00:49:11.120 until we did.

00:49:14.940 So is it possible 1.00

00:49:16.500 that we were idiots 1.00

00:49:17.900 about climate change 1.00

00:49:19.300 for a hundred years

00:49:20.980 and then science

00:49:22.520 and science finally caught up

00:49:24.820 and then we got smarter?

00:49:27.360 You rule that out

00:49:28.740 like that would be a crazy thing.

00:49:31.400 That would be the most normal thing

00:49:32.800 in the world

00:49:33.340 is that science

00:49:34.740 was wrong

00:49:35.360 for a hundred years

00:49:36.380 and then finally

00:49:37.740 got smarter.

00:49:39.100 Now,

00:49:39.740 it is not my opinion

00:49:40.840 that that's what happened.

00:49:42.560 I'm not telling you

00:49:43.420 that's my opinion.

00:49:44.760 I'm saying

00:49:45.420 that you ruled out

00:49:46.340 the most common thing

00:49:47.580 as if the most common thing

00:49:49.860 doesn't happen.

00:49:51.040 No,

00:49:51.240 the most common thing happens.

00:49:53.360 The most common thing

00:49:54.260 is that you're bad at it

00:49:55.260 until you're good at it.

00:49:56.300 It's like everything

00:49:56.840 is like that.

00:49:58.040 So,

00:49:58.840 it shouldn't mean anything

00:49:59.900 to you

00:50:00.320 that we were bad at it

00:50:01.240 for a hundred years

00:50:02.020 because science

00:50:04.120 has changed a lot

00:50:04.880 in a hundred years.

00:50:06.720 You know,

00:50:07.120 a hundred years ago

00:50:08.660 we couldn't go to the moon

00:50:09.980 but now we can.

00:50:14.420 Now we can.

00:50:19.860 All right.

00:50:20.440 we're going to hide

00:50:23.760 all the Shelley people

00:50:24.840 who just can't stop 1.00

00:50:26.460 being assholes. 1.00

00:50:29.320 You know, 1.00

00:50:29.920 you're all just assholes. 1.00

00:50:31.380 Really. 1.00

00:50:33.460 I really can't tell

00:50:34.680 how many of you

00:50:35.420 are even serious.

00:50:39.880 Okay.

00:50:40.680 Now I know.

00:50:42.700 I was waiting

00:50:43.640 for somebody 0.96

00:50:44.080 who's definitely a troll

00:50:45.180 to say the Shelley thing

00:50:47.000 so now I know 0.97

00:50:47.520 you're all trolls. 0.95

00:50:49.020 All right, 0.99

00:50:49.280 you all on YouTube,

00:50:49.760 you're not worthy

00:50:50.820 so goodbye to you. 0.85
