In this episode of the highlight of human civilization, Scott Adams talks about the latest in the news, and why he thinks we should all be eating less bread and eating more broccoli and other things that don't make you feel sick.
00:01:35.920And then they did create some content about my prank that was a husband apology and I wasn't serious at all.
00:01:44.920So they treated the hoax of my views as real.
00:01:50.940But then they added the prank that I added, which they also treated as real.
00:01:56.340So they treated two unreal things as real.
00:01:59.680But the net effect, I think, was to make me look good because apparently the user would be left with the impression that I had apologized and made good for being wrong.
00:02:33.060I've got a question about excess mortality.
00:02:36.120Many people think it's because the vaccinations themselves were dangerous.
00:02:41.240I don't know that because I don't trust any data about the pandemic.
00:02:46.420I don't trust data that agrees with me and I don't trust data that disagrees with me.
00:02:50.860I don't think any of our data is reliable.
00:02:54.040So I don't know what excess mortality is, but I'd like to add one more hypothesis in case it's not as obvious as the pandemic changed our lifestyles,
00:03:05.200the vaccination has its own, whatever percentage of injury, and the COVID itself might have some long COVID, but it doesn't look like it,
00:03:14.620at least in terms of excess mortality.
00:03:17.800But I would add this following hypothesis.
00:03:21.560Do you think anything changed with our food supply because of the pandemic?
00:03:28.620Because we imagine that the pandemic was some kind of a trigger in some way for this excess mortality because of the timing.
00:03:38.320But didn't our food supply undergo tremendous changes because of what was available and what was not available?
00:03:46.920And the reason that I have this hypothesis is that, as you know, I've mentioned it a bunch of times,
00:03:54.640I've altered my own diet radically because I found out there were so many things in just normal food that I had some kind of inflammation reaction to.
00:04:05.060So with trial and error, after a great deal of effort, I found that if I ate nothing but fresh stuff, like broccoli with nothing but, let's say, butter on it, butter seemed pretty safe.
00:04:19.320But if I ate food like that, like a real piece of fruit, a real vegetable, a real piece of fish, that I didn't have any inflammation problems and I feel great.
00:04:31.740Like it's just my entire overall health is completely better.
00:04:36.340Now, yeah, the biggest thing I cut out was bread, specifically wheat-based products.
00:04:48.620I feel like the food supply got worse recently because when I stopped eating the bad food, the degree of how much better I felt was really shocking.
00:05:00.820And I'm going to add to my hypothesis.
00:05:02.660By the way, I'm just spitballing and speculating.
00:07:05.920So, I've got several anecdotal non-proof things that suggest there might be a problem with our food supply that might be going directly to excess mortality.
00:07:22.360I think we need to just stop everything and take a deep dive.
00:07:26.660By the way, I think RFK Jr. is roughly on the same page in terms of doing a deep dive on our food supply just to find out what's real and what's killing us and what's not.
00:08:08.860So, among others, I assume, the three of the biggest names in this project are Mark Andreessen, Reid Hoffman, and Lorene Powell Jobs.
00:08:20.760Now, as I've told you many times, you can't understand anything in the news unless you understand the players and what the players are associated with, like who they're married to, what party they vote, et cetera.
00:08:35.400And this is weird because Reid Hoffman and Lorene Powell Jobs, Steve Jobs' widow, are the two biggest Democrat supporters.
00:08:49.780But Mark Andreessen would be very much not that.
00:08:55.340Now, I don't want to characterize his political views, but I can say for certain that it doesn't map completely to the Democrat position.
00:09:04.880I don't want to say he's anything that he doesn't say he is.
00:09:08.320He's probably independent, best guess.
00:09:11.960But he's kind of the, he might be the least irrational person in that space, meaning that he's just going to sort of look at what makes sense.
00:09:28.720He's like the real person from real life who just wants to do things that make sense.
00:09:34.460So, the fact that he's involved gives me a lot of confidence.
00:09:38.320If it were the other two, I'd worry about God knows what.
00:09:43.680It would look like some kind of weird Democrat thing that I didn't understand.
00:09:47.800Like maybe there's a secret agenda or something.
00:09:50.160But the fact that Andreessen's involved makes me think it could be interesting.
00:09:55.980This, I've told you many times, that I believe the future that nobody's talking about, as much as they should, is cities built from scratch.
00:10:06.260I don't believe you're going to fix the cities that exist.
00:10:09.840I think you're going to have to build brand new cities, which will be great for jobs, getting jobs, great for improving your life.
00:10:19.100And one of the main things they want to do is lower the cost of living.
00:10:24.180So, they'll have sustainable energy and affordable homes and everything.
00:11:30.760And so, we might be seeing the beginning of something that could fundamentally change the lives of maybe, I don't know, a quarter of all veterans.
00:11:43.580And we're talking about an enormous, enormous benefit to humanity, and specifically the veterans.
00:11:51.720So, I don't have any comment on it, other than whenever the government or any part of it does anything that makes sense.
00:11:59.140Like, I stop and go, oh, what's up with that?
00:12:05.100And I don't know, but was this bipartisan, are psychedelics bipartisan in Congress?
00:12:11.940I'm not sure if Congress weighs in on this or not.
00:12:14.320But are there as many Republicans in favor of psychedelics being used medically?
00:12:23.340Or does anybody know if there's any kind of divide politically?
00:12:27.920Because this one should not be political at all.
00:12:30.580There should be zero politics in psychedelics.
00:17:13.580Sometimes when you don't know what's true, you've got to pick an assumption because you've got to act somehow.
00:17:20.400You can't just say, I don't know, I don't know.
00:17:22.640So my working assumption is that the only reason the elections are not fixed and, and the and is the important part,
00:17:30.860and you don't see either party talking about it as much as you'd expect, suggests that both parties cheat and they don't want to lose the cheating advantage they have wherever they're cheating.
00:17:42.980So if you think the Republicans are the good guys and the Democrats are the bad guys, I would suggest that the evidence says no.
00:17:51.320And that there must be some, something that is attaching both parties to the current system, and it's not good.
00:17:59.960It's either because maybe people who benefit from the system, let's say selling election machines, might have lobbyists, they might donate to things.
00:18:11.480One assumes, so I don't know what the story is, but you need an outsider, somebody who has not been bought and paid for, to tell you that you can fix this and it's not hard.
00:18:25.000No outside, nobody on the inside can do that, apparently, because there's some penalty to it if you're on the inside.
00:18:31.640So when you say to me, hey, what about experience?
00:19:49.380If Democrats controlled, you know, each of the organs of government, I believe, without evidence, but based on what we've seen so far, that they would do a fake corruption crackdown just like China.
00:20:02.080And they'd say, oh, look at all these bribes we found only in Republicans.
00:20:08.060Why don't you look for bribes in the Democrats?
00:20:10.600Oh, yeah, we're sort of looking there, too.
00:20:15.500We're going to put some Republicans in jail.
00:20:17.280Well, so after watching the obvious political jailings of the January 6th protesters, do you think that the Democrats would stop for one second if they had control of all the organs of government from doing a fake corruption crackdown?
00:27:03.660Anyway, so, let's see how Joe's doing.
00:27:08.640He posted today that Trump proudly posts on social media that the words best describe his 2020 campaign are, quote, revenge, power, and dictatorship.
00:27:20.520And then Biden says, there is no confusion about who Trump is and what he intends to do.
00:27:26.600Now, I would consider this Joe Biden trying to get me killed.
00:27:49.960But if Trump is a candidate, I'm definitely going to back him over Biden.
00:27:53.900As a Trump supporter, should that happen, and first choice is Vivek, but should that happen, I'm going to have to deal with the fact that the current president is telling the public that I'm supporting a dictator.
00:28:08.680You don't think that puts me in danger?
00:33:47.160She said, at this moment, we are seeing extremists ban books and attempt to erase, overlook, and rewrite the dark parts of American history.
00:33:56.320And she says, for example, the Civil War, which was about slavery.
00:34:01.380The Civil War, which was about slavery.
00:34:04.680Now, as you know, our vice president is an idiot.
00:34:11.460But here's the problem with rewriting history.
00:34:16.760You know history was never right to begin with, right?
00:34:21.160Has anybody not realized that if you tried to write the history of, let's say, the last 10 years that you've been paying attention, how could you?
00:37:46.080Rasmussen says 65% of likely voters in the U.S. believe it is accurate to describe the current situation with migrants at the border with Mexico as, quote,
00:38:00.840Two-thirds of likely voters call what's happening an invasion.
00:38:06.260At the same time, our secretary of defense was unavailable, and the number two didn't even know he was unavailable while she was on vacation in Puerto Rico.
00:38:18.240So, I mean, all of this makes you think that our secretary of defense is, like, some kind of a fucking idiot, right?
00:38:27.720Like, you know, don't you sort of think, oh, my God, is our secretary of defense some kind of, like, idiot or something?
00:38:34.920Well, I saw End Wokeness on X, good account to follow, talked about this story and included a photo.
00:38:41.580That I've never seen the pairing of a point of view and a photo that matched so well.
00:38:50.740So now that we know that our secretary of defense is incompetent, I'd like to show you a photo, a real photo.
