Real Coffee with Scott Adams - Episode 2514 CWSA 06⧸23⧸24

00:00:00.000 do do do do do do do do do do do do do do well good morning everybody and welcome

00:00:07.040 to the highlight of human civilization it's called coffee with scott adams that's what it is

00:00:12.460 if you'd like to take this experience up two levels where even spacex can't reach

00:00:18.100 all you need is a copper mugger a glass of tankard chalice or stein a kinteen jug or flask a vessel

00:00:23.400 of any kind fill it with your favorite liquid i like coffee and join me now for the unparalleled

00:00:29.160 pleasure the dopamine of the day the thing that makes everything better it's called a

00:00:33.740 simultaneous sip and it's gonna happen right now savor it savor it

00:00:38.540 it's a full body tingle

00:00:47.840 well some code pink activists uh decided to target uh jake tapper's house jake tapper of cnn

00:00:58.320 now if you saw the video of it you would say to yourself hmm they seem to be indicating a

00:01:05.740 protest in front of the house i think the entire protest was five people who showed up in a

00:01:12.900 uh volvo one of them had a uh bullhorn because all the all the videos that i saw

00:01:22.920 of the protesters were extreme close-ups look here's the face of somebody with a bullhorn

00:01:30.300 and i think i think there's another person standing there somewhere nearby

00:01:36.140 there couldn't have been more than five people but here's the fun part uh

00:01:41.340 the the i guess jake has some uh older kids some teenagers and this teenage kids were just mocking

00:01:49.840 them and playing god bless them they're playing some patriotic music and and just mocking them from

00:01:55.940 the balcony and and the garage and that's the way to handle it jake so jake uh if he was home don't even

00:02:04.320 know if he was home but if he was he wisely stayed off the camera and uh apparently let his kids just

00:02:12.840 mock them which was fine um i'm very much against people uh protesting public figures houses uh i don't

00:02:23.780 think that's cool whatsoever but i like the fact that he uses kids to mock them if it was intentional

00:02:30.280 maybe just the kids were doing their own thing anyway uh there's new new studies show that

00:02:36.860 generation z is the unhappiest generation and people are all figuring out why could that be 1.00

00:02:43.160 why is gen z the unhappiest what could possibly cause such a thing i don't know could it be when

00:02:51.480 they look at the news it says that the climate's out of control and we're going to fry them all and

00:02:56.180 there's no point in having children because they're all going to be dead in a hellscape of

00:03:00.280 hotness might be that could be that uh they're being told they're going to lose their democracy

00:03:06.820 and that hitler uh has just reincarnated into something orange and terrible could be that

00:03:14.300 could be that neither of those things bother me because i don't think they're real how about uh

00:03:21.340 the confusing gender roles don't you think it would cause you a little mental distress

00:03:27.800 yes if you could sort of pick your own gender i don't remember ever having a conversation about

00:03:34.180 it that was that was sort of just a given all right uh you're a boy got it and never really

00:03:41.760 needed to have a conversation about it again but imagine if you were born into a world where people 0.69

00:03:47.740 were just choosing their genders uh uh you know i think i'm gonna go a different way from now on i

00:03:54.800 think um the other thing i would think that given that you know our sexual roles are so baked into

00:04:03.240 civilization and our genes in some level that anytime you add any uh uncertainty into that world

00:04:10.140 that's got to be bad for your mental health how about hormone disruptions how about that we got all

00:04:19.120 kinds of stuff in the environment we got men's testosterone dropping and we know testosterone 0.97

00:04:24.920 makes men happy if they've got the right amount it makes them unhappy if they got the wrong amount

00:04:29.820 and we know they got the wrong amount and then some number of women are on chemical birth control 1.00

00:04:37.340 that changes their hormonal balance do you think that has any impact well i'm no doctor but probably

00:04:45.240 um how about the fact that it's the first time in american history kids don't think they could make

00:04:52.820 enough money to do things like have a family now i don't know if that's really the case but it sure

00:04:59.100 looks like it you can see why they would think it what about uh social media and uh the phone of course

00:05:06.600 social media and the foreigner phone are very bad for your mental health what about the fact that now 1.00

00:05:14.020 that we have such connectivity we we don't just worry about the problems that are local to us

00:05:20.340 like what's happening in your town and what's happening in your family now you get to worry about

00:05:25.200 all the problems in the world you get to worry about the poor ukrainians you get to worry about the poor

00:05:31.360 people in gaza the poor people in israel you get to worry about everybody all the time would that make

00:05:38.520 you mentally unhealthy yes it would yes it would so i would say it's the the least mystery of all 0.88

00:05:48.660 mysteries not only do you have obvious reasons that are pretty well established but you got a shit ton 0.82

00:05:54.960 of them it's the longest list of reasons to be sad i've ever seen in my life and you know a lot of

00:06:02.020 that is just democrats and phones well here's the good side apparently psychedelics are you know almost

00:06:12.500 every day now there's another story about psychedelics helping somebody with their mental health or

00:06:17.780 quitting addiction or something like that but it just in the last few days a few things that i've read

00:06:23.620 about is that psychedelics uh just one exposure to psychedelics once in your life can make you more

00:06:32.480 creative forever apparently they can measure mental flexibility which gets to creativity and they can

00:06:40.920 determine that one exposure just one you know deep trip under psychedelics and you will forever be more

00:06:49.020 creative now this brings me to me i've told you many times that when i was just out of college first

00:06:58.960 came to california i had a mushroom experience which i was just reading a story that a number of people

00:07:06.520 have had a mushroom experience describe it as the best day of their life now that's exactly how i've

00:07:13.120 described it my whole life as the best day of my life and it wasn't anything close now i thought maybe

00:07:20.280 it was just me but apparently that's a common experience but the the part that i didn't really say out loud

00:07:27.360 too much is that i thought it changed me permanently really you could tell i i was a different person

00:07:35.920 after that and never went back and one of the things that was different was i felt my creativity increased

00:07:43.120 and sure enough apparently there's some scientific backing to that i could actually feel it because

00:07:48.420 by the time i became a cartoonist i actually thought my powers of creativity were for some reason that i

00:07:56.000 didn't understand unusually good and i think that was part of it i was always creative but i even i felt

00:08:05.400 there was some kind of turbo charge that happened as a young adult i was quite aware of it and i was always

00:08:11.000 puzzled by it because it felt like just some kind of gene kicked in that i didn't know i had

00:08:16.020 maybe it was that maybe it was uh but now they know that people who did psychedelics

00:08:22.500 will also score higher on tests so inductive reason verbal fluency working memory processing speed

00:08:31.420 attention switching and inhibitory control so it can get rid of your depression your your anxiety your

00:08:38.900 addiction and it can make you smarter and more creative permanently

00:08:44.000 just think about that it can solve all of those things and make you more creative and make you smarter

00:08:54.500 permanently

00:08:56.840 i don't think we quite understand where this is heading

00:09:02.260 this is so big that we it's hard to actually wrap your head around it it's one of the biggest

00:09:09.460 things that's ever happened in human civilization and you know it's up there with ai and robotics in

00:09:15.700 terms of how much it's going to change the world all we really needed was to to change the psychology from

00:09:23.700 oh it's a dangerous drug stay away to it might be the most miraculous medicine of all humankind and that's happening

00:09:32.660 so normies are doing it you know the the soccer the soccer moms they're all micro dosing 1.00

00:09:40.180 you know why the sale of alcohol seems to be going down micro dosing even more so than i think than marijuana

00:09:50.420 that's what i think i think the micro dosing is cutting into the alcohol far more than anything else

00:09:55.620 all right uh here's a funny story over in california there's a funding bill that includes 12 million

00:10:03.540 dollars for reparations now you say to yourself 12 million i thought they wanted like you know a billion

00:10:11.140 dollars or a trillion dollars even in california what do you get for 12 million well 12 million isn't

00:10:18.820 the reparations now 12 million will go to the activists who want reparations so that they have

00:10:26.260 more time to study how to get those reparations in other words let me translate this into uh

00:10:35.860 common language for those of you who do not have big company experience remember how i laughed when

00:10:42.340 gavin newsom told the activists about reparations you know what you should form a committee and you

00:10:48.100 should go off and study it and then get back to me and then he got back to him he said you know what

00:10:53.700 you know what we really need is more studying so of course he was never serious about reparations

00:11:00.100 because it's a political dagger right through his heart he doesn't have a chance if he get if it goes

00:11:04.660 through but he can't say no to it so reparations is the thing you can't say yes to if you're a politician

00:11:12.580 but you definitely can't say no to it and there are only two things yes or no or is there well it turns

00:11:19.300 out that gavin newsom clever man that he is realize there's something between yes and no which is we'd

00:11:25.780 better study this and then after you studied it hmm very good studying you did there but you know i've

00:11:32.420 got a couple more questions you ought to go study that and then the reparations people realizing they

00:11:38.420 had them by the balls said uh how about how about you pay us to study it more and then then knowing

00:11:50.260 it's not his own money newsom thought okay if i pay you to study it which an objective observer would 0.98

00:11:59.380 call a bribe to go away and shut up for a while and i had and i could pay the bribe with other people's 0.67

00:12:06.180 money and i could sell it as not a bribe but rather an important funding toward making the world a

00:12:13.620 better place once it's studied properly so yes apparently every time let me just say this

00:12:23.540 an obvious statement wherever there's a reparations study committee there are some grifters who figured

00:12:31.220 out they can get white people to give them lots of money to make it look like they're studying

00:12:36.100 something i kind of wish i were in that game because it looks like a really really good scam

00:12:44.420 oh yeah if you don't pay me 24 million dollars i don't know how i'm going to study these reparations

00:12:50.580 but i'll certainly call you a racist every day you're in office for not having a reparations 0.63

00:12:55.940 committee that's properly funded and now the other states are like wait a minute are you telling me the

00:13:02.260 activists are getting paid to pretend that they're studying reparations they're all going to have

00:13:09.380 their own reparations study force it's the obvious way to make them go away and shut up about it they're

00:13:16.660 just being bribed so it's a legal way to bribe people just to shut up until elections are over

00:13:22.180 and it works so anytime you say that gavin newsom doesn't have game he's got game he's not the one

00:13:30.740 i want to be my president but don't underestimate that guy he's got some game this is this is well played

00:13:39.380 all right um apparently there's a new study that says there's a trillion dollar problem oh great another

00:13:48.100 trillion dollar problem we don't have enough of those uh where there's too much lead in the uh in

00:13:54.900 the yards of people's homes so 25 of the u.s yards have unsafe levels of lead now what i wondered was

00:14:03.780 if there are any correlation to any areas that have more lead it turns out that you're going to have more

00:14:10.980 lead where there's older infrastructure so wherever there's older infrastructure so that would include

00:14:18.340 basically all of the democratic cities so new york detroit baltimore you know older infrastructure

00:14:29.700 now what are what is the effect of having too much lead in your environment well the big one is it lowers your

00:14:36.260 iq you see where this is heading the democrat cities have the oldest infrastructure the old

00:14:46.660 infrastructure is correlated with more lead in your environment more lead in the environment makes you 0.99

00:14:52.180 stupid i think we just figured out what's going on yeah the democrats are exposed to too much lead 0.99

00:15:00.420 and we're confusing it with political opinions whoa no don't that's not an opinion you just have too much 1.00

00:15:07.460 lead no yeah yeah why don't you go study it for a while here's some money to go study it because i can't 0.99

00:15:14.260 convince you that you're dumb because you have too much lead in your brain but uh i'm not joking by the way 0.98

00:15:23.300 if the correlation is this strong and there really is this much lead in our environment it would be 1.00

00:15:29.060 affecting democrats more than other people just because they're living circumstances

00:15:34.900 and it does make you dumber so it might be that democrats of all of all races and genders and everything else 0.97

00:15:43.460 the democrats just because of where they live are getting dumber now would that be systemic racism 0.99

00:15:51.540 if that were true there's more lead making you dumb in places that democrats are clustered for 0.99

00:16:00.500 unrelated reasons that would be systemic racism so those of you who say systemic racism isn't real 0.97

00:16:07.700 i just don't think you're trying very hard of course it's real of course it is

00:16:14.260 there are some things that are just baked into the system that are really hard to change now i don't

00:16:18.820 think that you should focus on those well obviously you should focus on fixing them if you can but i

00:16:24.900 don't think that should be the driving force of how we live our lives rather the driving force should be

00:16:30.980 the you know the king randall kind of learn to take care of yourself build a talent stack

00:16:36.820 and these problems just go away if you have talent all the problems go away

00:16:41.700 hey did you hear about the uh highly qualified uh black engineer who couldn't get a job 1.00

00:16:50.260 you've heard about that right there's a story about a a very qualified black engineer

00:16:55.300 has all the right qualifications went to mit got a degree has a good background experience no problems

00:17:02.340 whatsoever can't get a job in america did you hear about that no you never heard about that because it

00:17:08.020 didn't happen it's never happened once there are zero cases where a qualified black man can't get a

00:17:14.340 job in america none there are lots of cases where somebody has a criminal record that's a problem

00:17:21.540 there are lots of places where you know there are individual pockets of discrimination that's real

00:17:29.060 usually smaller companies the big companies of course are dying for diversity

00:17:33.380 there's no such thing as a person with valuable job skills who doesn't have a job in america none

00:17:42.820 it hasn't happened once so where's why does the systemic racism go away as soon as you develop skills

00:17:52.660 well it never goes away per se but you can slice through it like it didn't didn't matter to you

00:17:58.100 right so you could say that stick of butter is real but if you have a hot poker you can just put it on

00:18:06.740 the stick of butter and it disappears it just melts so be the hot poker don't be somebody who's stopped by a

00:18:14.020 stick of butter all right um apparently there's some kind of new compound scientists in japan gave to mice

00:18:26.420 who had alzheimer's and fixed them so now they can fix uh alzheimer's and mice

00:18:35.940 finally you know i don't know about you but one of the things i worry about too much

00:18:42.180 is mice with alzheimer's i think i see some once in a while i'll see a mouse you know out in my backyard

00:18:49.860 or something i'll be like that mouse looks like joe biden you know you look at the mouse and it'll be

00:18:57.540 like all hunched over like this

00:18:58.900 and it'll walk like this and i say to myself that's a that's a mouse with alzheimer's but now

00:19:11.460 there's a japanese drug that can cure it

00:19:16.500 so a lot of your japanese mice at least that's probably where it will start will be walking

00:19:20.660 upright and uh and their debate performances will be much better yeah they also found that the mice

00:19:28.420 would win debates no i'm just making that up but they're probably smarter once they cure that alzheimer's

00:19:36.660 anyway um we don't know if this will work on human beings somebody mentioned the other day that mice

00:19:45.060 that mice testing is more about whether it will kill you and it doesn't predict that it will work in

00:19:51.060 humans it does give you a good idea that if it didn't kill the mice it might not kill us either

00:19:58.260 not guaranteed but it's a good indication it doesn't tell you it's going to work that's that's

00:21:05.300 please play responsibly well elon musk says he he aims to be able to build a thousand rocket ships a

00:21:13.220 year he's got a brand new rocket ship factory um that's gearing up it's nowhere near a thousand per

00:21:19.860 year at the moment but they're making a lot of them uh like uh i think they're making a rocket every other

00:21:25.780 day and the question i have is what do they need to put on those rockets if the rockets are not actually

00:21:35.140 going to the moon or mars yet why why do we need that much capacity to put stuff in space

00:21:44.260 is it just satellites do it do we have an unlimited demand for launching satellites we might i mean

00:21:52.420 that might be the whole thing but uh that is one hell of a thing that really snuck up on me

00:21:59.540 if you'd said scott how many rockets does elon musk have i would have said well i think he's got

00:22:06.500 two and he keeps reusing them but probably there's three or four you know in the pipeline just in case

00:22:14.180 i didn't know it's going to be hundreds and i certainly didn't know it's going to be a thousand

00:22:18.820 per year so he might have thousands of rockets you know launching three or four per day or something

00:22:27.700 that's where he's heading well the babylon b reports that 12 women have come forward

00:22:35.540 to say that they were sexually assaulted by uh quote whoever the trump vp is

00:22:41.460 that's a pretty good joke and also not too far from reality because whoever trump picks for the

00:22:50.420 vice president will be accused of sexual impropriety yes they will which by the way might be the main

00:22:58.820 reason to pick whoever he picks if he could find somebody who wouldn't be accused of sexual impropriety

00:23:06.020 and i worry about the good looking candidates

00:23:12.820 because it's so much harder to be good looking you know that's one of the lucky things about my life

00:23:18.660 i always say to myself would i be as successful in my career if i were good looking i think the answer is no

00:23:28.420 because if i were good looking i'd wake up every day and get everything i needed

00:23:31.780 you know a bunch of attractive women who would want to have sex with me and i think 1.00

00:23:37.700 huh i guess i don't even need to be rich i could i could cut back on the working 0.94

00:23:43.940 give myself a nice you know part-time job and live like a king with my harem who thinks i'm handsome

00:23:50.740 but since i was not born handsome i said to myself by looking in the mirror when i was about five years old

00:23:57.380 literally true story you'd better get a really good job if you want to compete in this world because

00:24:05.060 you're not going to do it on your looks and so i did and that by the way that's completely true

00:24:11.460 i honestly did look in the mirror at around the age of five and said man you better you better get a b

00:24:18.260 game your a game isn't working at all doesn't look like it's going to kick in you better you better

00:24:24.260 start working on that b game and so i did yeah i am a planner i do plan 45 years in advance

00:24:32.260 literally i plan 45 years in advance

00:24:37.700 all right uh there's a top cancer charity i don't know which one but they're apologizing for using the

00:24:44.500 word cervix in their materials and they say they should have used the more inclusive term front hole

00:24:54.260 because it's not just women who have vaginas um it's everybody everybody can have one so um 1.00

00:25:06.340 so you got your front hole so don't say cervix when you can say front hole now you might say to yourself 0.99

00:25:15.300 my goodness this top cancer charity they sound to me like a bunch of backholes

00:25:23.860 that's right they're a bunch of backholes

00:25:28.660 yep we'll just let that sink in well did you know that the tariff the u.s tariff on chinese electric

00:25:36.420 vehicles is over 100 percent it's over 100 but correct me if i'm wrong but didn't democrats tell

00:25:47.780 us that tariffs are a terrible terrible idea and this is a biden thing biden put a hundred percent 0.94

00:25:54.340 tariff on electric cars from china so can you democrats make up your mind is it the dumbest worst 0.58

00:26:03.300 thing that's never worked once in the world or is it just a trump policy that makes perfect sense

00:26:09.860 that you shouldn't destroy yourself economically just because china wants you to not a good enough

00:26:16.020 reason so yeah we have a hundred percent tariff to keep those electric vehicles from china and of our

00:26:22.820 markets i think we're going to have to do the same thing with robots um with ai

00:26:30.580 and um yeah robots and ai basically and evs so i think that the uh the markets that are most

00:26:42.740 important to the united states in every case we're going to have to have a hundred percent um

00:26:48.740 some kind of tariff because you can't really let china rule us in robots

00:26:54.820 winning robots is existential we have to win robots by the way i'm going to give you a little uh

00:27:05.780 a little lesson here in what makes a human a human so i've told you this before but i came

00:27:14.180 into a better way to explain it i've told you that i don't believe that art created by robots and ai

00:27:21.220 will ever be a big thing and the theory is and this is just mine i've never heard anybody else say this

00:27:29.620 that we recognize art as triggering to us like it means something to us not because the art is well

00:27:37.380 done but because a human made it and it looks like superior genetic quality and it's a mating signal

00:27:44.900 so even if you're not looking to mate we're just born that way and even if you're the wrong gender

00:27:50.580 to be attracted to the artist still works because we're all we're all still we can't look away when

00:27:58.500 we see somebody with talent and talent is simply a marker for uh reproductive health right so whether 0.97

00:28:07.220 whether your talent is art or your talent is music you know visual art or music or acting or anything

00:28:13.620 if you have that thing people are attracted to it and they get a feeling when they look at your art

00:28:20.420 because they're feeling you you're feeling the artist when you look at the art even if you don't

00:28:26.020 know who it is you still feel the artist and so my hypothesis is that ai art can never trigger us

00:28:34.340 if we know it's ai and probably we'll have some laws to say we'll know so if you know it's ai you're

00:28:40.900 going to say yeah yeah the computers are good so what i've not yet found any art made by ai as

00:28:49.220 impressive as it is that i wanted to spend much time looking at you know what i mean it's really

00:28:56.580 impressive and it does look better than humans can do and all that no interest at all you know it has its

00:29:04.340 utility you know maybe you do something to include in a post on social media or put it in your blog

00:29:10.980 post or something so it's useful but it doesn't move you the way that human art can so now i'm gonna

00:29:18.980 now i'm gonna make my point with this fast forward five years when robots have full human movement and

00:29:29.380 good batteries and ai and somebody says i'm gonna form a robot basketball league where my robots will

00:29:38.340 play your robots and they'll play actual basketball they'll dribble they'll shoot they'll foul everything

00:29:44.420 would you watch it the answer is once you might watch it once but you will never be interested in

00:29:52.740 robots playing basketball now imagine if the robots could play basketball better than michael jordan

00:29:59.940 they could jump higher and do these impressive dunks would you watch it not even a little bit do you

00:30:07.860 know why because it's not people yeah we're not interested in basketball we have no interest in

00:30:15.620 basketball because if we had interest in basketball you could watch robots play and you go wow look at that

00:30:21.940 basketball they could really play that basketball those robots no you would have no interest at all 0.99

00:30:28.100 people watch basketball because they want to fuck the players men watch basketball because it's men who are 0.99

00:30:35.060 better than them and they're like we're kind of drawn to just looking at anything in that domain 0.99

00:30:40.580 yeah that's the real reason it's because the athletes are you know super examples of people you want to mate

00:30:49.300 with they're they're displaying a talent that is unusual so the basketball example should tell you that

00:30:58.100 the ai art is probably not the future except in utility way uh there's you you've been following

00:31:06.740 this story that i haven't talked about at all i'll tell you why uh there's a bunch of chinese-owned farmland

00:31:12.820 that in many cases is nearby to u.s military bases and it's an alarming threat now i take that seriously

00:31:23.780 i do think that having a bunch of chinese farmland adjacent to american bases that does seem like a

00:31:31.220 security risk but i would also point out and the reason i hadn't talked about it until now

00:31:36.500 is that if you have a lot of bases and you have a lot of farmland how are they not going to line up

00:31:46.500 so i was having trouble um removing chance from the story because i looked at the map

00:31:54.660 and it looked to me like some were near bases some were not but a lot were am i worried about that yeah

00:32:03.540 yeah because it is it is a resource that you can imagine china might take advantage of if they wanted

00:32:09.620 to so yeah it's a problem but i don't know if it's a plot it might be so you have to worry about it

00:32:18.980 exactly as if you know it's a plot but i don't know i don't know it could be just they need to they

00:32:25.140 need food so they create a bunch of farms and places that have good conditions for farms and then

00:32:32.180 they ship the food back so it might be 80 food 20 you know as long as you're going to buy some farmland

00:32:40.740 yeah wouldn't it be nice if it were in this area instead of that area so there might be some you know

00:32:47.380 military direction to it just in case it would be a smart thing for china to do to just have a bunch 0.99

00:32:55.460 of locations that they can use with impunity all right judge cannon is the judge who's weighing in

00:33:04.580 on whether jack smith who's the prosecutor uh whatever name they're using for it uh special whatever

00:33:12.500 for the uh mar-a-lago box gate and the idea is that uh he might not have been appointed through a

00:33:18.980 legal process and therefore should be removed from the case so that's pending the uh the story here is

00:33:26.020 that judge cannon was a trump appointee and people are saying that she's too pro-trump and that uh

00:33:33.780 you know she should be removed from the case i guess um here's here's what i take from it

00:33:40.740 what i take from it is if you're poor uh you get whatever judge they assign you and you take your

00:33:51.380 chances but knowing that everybody's biased about everything all the time humans are just biased

00:33:58.500 there's no way around it um but it seems to me that rich people actually can shop for judges and

00:34:07.140 prosecutors not every time but you know you can try to get a change of venue you can ask for a judge to

00:34:14.660 be removed because you're because your lawyers did such a good job of finding some conflict that nobody

00:34:20.500 knew about that sort of thing so it seems to me that we have a two-phase legal system

00:34:28.420 the poor get whatever we whatever we give them and they just got to deal with it and the rich

00:34:35.380 decide whether they will go to jail or not by which judge they get you know because once it becomes

00:34:43.700 political or even if there's just a billionaire involved it's always political then it seems like

00:34:49.860 the game is getting the right judge so where trump gets the wrong judges in new york

00:34:57.380 and we say well that's unfair um he might get the right judge i don't know that this judge is biased

00:35:04.100 in his favor but it's a it's a reasonable suspicion whether it's true or not but suppose it is true

00:35:14.340 and suppose it's the only reason that trump gets off that's our system our system is rich people get to

00:35:21.220 shop judges at least they can try and poor people don't and that picking the right judge as we know from 1.00

00:35:28.980 the supreme court is about 80 percent predictive in terms of how things are going to go

00:35:36.020 so it does expose the uh system quite a bit all right trump had a big uh rally in philadelphia

00:35:44.180 the big story is there's no big story

00:35:48.500 the big story is and i will compliment the the trump campaign again

00:35:53.060 um people who went there described it as flawless in other words the organization of it the the

00:36:01.620 attendance the design of it uh trump's performance the equipment you know all the logistics flawless

00:36:11.620 now compare that to biden who's hiding in his basement pretending to get ready for a debate

00:36:17.060 i tell you there's a little bit of the dog not barking here but every day that trump

00:36:24.420 doesn't do a trump-like provocative thing that makes you say why did he do that everything was

00:36:29.860 going so well until he did that and he's not doing that it's not an accident it's not a coincidence

00:36:38.260 that trump is running a flawless campaign he's got skill that is employed in this i don't know who

00:36:45.220 exactly it could be a combination of people but he's got really really smart people working on this

00:36:51.380 campaign and you can just see it you you can see it every time he does something that it just has this

00:36:58.020 little extra envelope of smartness around it that you didn't see the first the first two times he ran

00:37:04.100 you didn't see it but you see it now and you see it just so clearly here's another example

00:37:09.300 um some republicans are suggesting that his best campaign strategy would be to be not trump

00:37:19.940 in other words don't um don't talk over don't be competitive and in a non-debate way you know just

00:37:26.500 don't go too hard and the thinking is he just has to describe you know the path that he gives you the

00:37:34.020 path that biden will probably give you the fact that you've seen both of them at work you have you

00:37:39.140 have a full four-year interview essentially for each of them and he that trump can simply say here's

00:37:46.740 what biden gives you here's what i give you there's no contest i agree with that with the caveat that

00:37:57.700 nobody can really advise trump so he still is the one who's going to decide and a lot of it will be

00:38:04.820 spontaneous i don't think he's really not preparing you know he's kind of playing it off like he's not

00:38:11.940 preparing because it'll be more impressive if he does well but i assume he's preparing he's just doing

00:38:17.940 it his own way anyway so uh and i would agree if he just plays it straight he's gonna win i had some

00:38:28.820 actual suggestions here i had an actual suggestion

00:38:36.980 um all right here's my debate advice besides not don't be too aggressive

00:38:44.100 we're very close to the point i don't know if we're there yet where trump could say what i call

00:38:51.060 the uh the bob dole strategy now it's a strategy used against bob dole by um by the clinton campaign

00:39:00.420 when they were running for re-election but the bill clinton campaign which was to treat the bob dole

00:39:06.900 with respect because he was elderly and a vet so once you get a lead you know it looks like you're 0.98

00:39:14.660 going to win anyway you stop being an asshole and you start showing empathy and respect and i think that 0.98

00:39:23.140 trump of course he's going to keep going hard at at biden all the way to the finish line but could you 0.99

00:39:29.060 imagine him saying that we need to respect the elderly and that biden had a good run imagine imagine

00:39:42.100 trump saying you know we have to give respect to the elderly now people would laugh at that because

00:39:47.220 trump is almost the same age but it would be funny and you couldn't ignore it you know we should we should

00:39:53.940 have respect for the elderly joe had a good run but we can all see that his time has come to an end

00:40:01.940 just imagine that coming out of trump's mouth or some version of it we should respect the elderly

00:40:09.460 and i'm going to go hard this election if you know if you go hard i'm going to go hard

00:40:14.340 but honestly joe you had a good run you made it all the way to president but now i think

00:40:20.500 you know a due respect to people who have reached your situation in life is that we should allow

00:40:28.020 you to make a graceful exit and it looks like the voters are going to do that for you

00:40:34.020 and if you go hard at me i'm going to go hard at you that's our system but i think at this point we

00:40:40.020 can all see that maybe empathy is the way to go here it would be devastating it would be devastating

00:40:48.660 if trump said we should maybe go a little easy on you because everybody can see what's going on at

00:40:54.020 this point but then don't go easy you know don't be a bully but definitely don't go easy just just

00:41:02.340 point it out as something we should now consider that since we can all see he's gone

00:41:07.700 that maybe we should take a different approach to this it would be a killer

00:41:17.060 bank more on course when you switch to a scotia bank banking package

00:41:21.700 learn more at scotia bank.com slash banking packages conditions apply scotia bank you're richer than you

00:41:28.500 think well uh also trump said we should stop giving attention to bill maher uh because bill

00:41:37.220 maher's got a failing show and he's unimportant blah blah blah blah blah well i'd like to talk

00:41:41.940 about bill maher because i don't take that advice whatsoever i think mike serovich is saying the same

00:41:48.100 thing stop giving oxygen to bill maher i'll stop giving him oxygen when it doesn't work to my advantage

00:41:56.820 if that starts happening i'll stop doing it but at the moment with the story i'm going to tell you

00:42:02.260 right now it's very much working to my advantage as a communicator here's what bill maher said see if

00:42:09.060 this sounds familiar to you see if it's something that maybe you heard me say once or twice or ten

00:42:15.860 times all right here's what bill maher said on the show he was talking about uh all the polls about

00:42:21.860 biden losing support among various things he says he's uh losing 14 points among hispanics 43 points

00:42:29.860 among black voters i don't i'll just give you the big line i think these details are misleading but he's

00:42:37.460 basically saying that every category from hispanics to blacks to under 50 student debt holders even the

00:42:43.140 people as student debt were more for trump and uh something about even losing support for women so bill maher says

00:42:54.900 bill maher says

00:42:58.020 how can they be tied

00:43:00.900 if the polls say he's losing ground in every category

00:43:04.420 how can he be tied at the top line if we know he's losing every category

00:43:12.900 have you heard me say that that's exactly what i said

00:43:17.860 i said how do you explain that it looks like he's tie

00:43:22.820 when they're also saying he's losing every category

00:43:26.340 well it can't they can't both be true but here's what i posted on this

00:43:30.660 bill maher is so close to understanding the world he lives in he doesn't yet but he's so close i think

00:43:39.380 he might get there and what he needs to understand is that nothing's true

00:43:45.780 that that that the polls that are coming out from respected entities are legitimately faked

00:43:52.260 they're intentionally obviously observably transparently fake so there's no real mystery here

00:44:03.460 there's no mystery at all the polls are fake now are some of the polls accurate

00:44:10.260 probably because they're not all the same

00:44:12.500 but no you should expect tons of fake polls that would and he's he's seen the glitch in the matrix

00:44:20.660 now you know he lives in a world where he thinks that at least his news is real

00:44:27.300 so he's still locked into the world where if you look at the if you read the credible news as he would

00:44:33.700 define them that that's not right every single time and he points out when they're wrong

00:44:40.500 but that you know you get a pretty good idea of what's true by ignoring the bad news sources

00:44:47.060 and focusing on the good ones he hasn't quite caught on that there aren't any good ones

00:44:52.740 and maybe there never were i mean my personal theory is that there never were here's why

00:44:59.860 if the cia can control the news they will there's no doubt about that but they're not going to try

00:45:07.060 to control it for you know every little story you know not the local stuff but they're certainly

00:45:12.420 going to control it completely when there's some argument that there's a national interest

00:45:18.340 that would be their job arguably that's what we pay them for to make sure there are no gigantic

00:45:24.740 national interests that we ignore and so it seems hugely unlikely that to me that even during the

00:45:35.220 days we trusted the news in the cronkite days everybody said he's so trusted he's so trusted

00:45:41.460 my current view is that almost guarantees he was a cia asset do you know why people said he was trusted

00:45:49.620 i don't i don't know why i think it's only because he didn't get caught

00:45:56.340 with fake news and probably the cia started the idea that he was so trusted

00:46:01.860 i think it's always been fake and and but what i mean by that is that the news about anything

00:46:09.940 important you know like why did nixon get removed from office i don't think we've ever been told the

00:46:17.140 truth about that you know why did kennedy get killed yeah probably a lot of things were not being told the

00:46:24.420 truth so yes one if you believe that your news is real and the other is fake you end up being

00:46:31.060 confused about why the polls are giving you something that is logically impossible i'm not

00:46:37.060 confused i know exactly what's going on they're fake polls so as soon as you get past the idea that

00:46:44.580 some of it's true everything makes sense it's a it's a good feeling well you remember jack dorsey

00:46:53.700 founder of uh old twitter uh he's saying that the issue with the algorithms is not just that they're

00:46:59.540 politically biased it's that they remove your free will how do you like that

00:47:08.340 the algorithms effectively determine how we think you know it would be easy to demonstrate that if you

00:47:14.500 were fed a certain algorithm you'd have a certain point of view if they fed you a different algorithm

00:47:19.060 you'd have a different point of view it's the tick tock effect it's well understood right

00:47:24.020 there's no argument about that so if somebody else is deciding what things are going to the front of

00:47:31.780 your brain and that's what social media is doing with the algorithms if something that's not your brain

00:47:37.620 decides what you're going to think about the most and even the narrative and and the way you're going to

00:47:42.740 think about it do you have free will well you're going to say you do well i'll just look at different

00:47:50.100 sources and i won't believe it and i'll know there's more context no the

00:47:59.300 uh

00:48:00.660 other machines work miracles do things like humans there's somebody in all caps who is imagining i

00:48:06.740 said the opposite of what i've ever said and that uh and he's really mad about my point of view

00:48:14.180 that's the opposite of my point of view there's somebody yelling in all caps that i believe that

00:48:20.180 our robots will be magic and do everything that humans can do i just got done saying the opposite

00:48:26.900 of that that they won't be able to do art and why so all caps guy seems pretty drunk morning drinker

00:48:35.940 looks like anyway yes uh i i would go further jack dorsey says we're going to lose free will because

00:48:43.060 the algorithms will effectively program our brains that's a reasonable frame but i would go further to

00:48:50.820 the next level of awareness and say that free will is an illusion and what we will lose is the illusion of

00:48:58.820 free will so once you realize that your opinions keep matching your tiktok feed you're going to

00:49:05.780 realize that your illusion of free will is starting to go so you'll probably paper that over with some

00:49:12.020 cognitive dissonance well i told you before that there's a swiss firm that's making organic computers

00:49:20.180 so in other words they have a fake organic brain didn't come from a person that just i guess they grew

00:49:26.180 it in the lab and it can do all kinds of computational tasks like a regular computer

00:49:32.660 while consuming a million times less power than silicon chips a million times less power

00:49:39.620 now keep in mind our biggest problem is we're going to run out of power with all the robots and evs and ai

00:49:47.220 but we might be able to reduce it by a million if there's some kind of organic brains now i think that

00:49:54.660 the problem is they don't last very long um because they're organic so i don't know what happens when

00:50:04.020 your organic computer gets alzheimer's or dementia and would you pick up on it right away and is that

00:50:11.620 even a thing can it actually happen what happens when the brain starts to degrade a little bit

00:50:18.420 you know does it stop working suddenly or you don't notice and it's just sort of off for a while

00:50:23.060 i know lots of questions but it's pretty exciting all right here's uh sort of the big question for

00:50:28.740 the day as you know president biden ran on the fine people hoax that he tried to sell to the country and

00:50:37.620 the people who don't follow the news too closely as true did you know that snopes the fact the most

00:50:44.980 famous fact-checking entity which traditionally has leaned left says in a full-throated way that it

00:50:54.100 didn't happen it's a hoax now they don't say hoax but they do say clearly and unambiguously president

00:51:02.580 trump did not call the neo-nazis fine people and so um as i i included uh michael ian black in my uh

00:51:15.860 in my comment on that and i said that one of the ways you can tell the truth in our world of lies

00:51:23.140 about everything is if people on both sides have the same version so if fox news and cnn say the same

00:51:30.980 thing it's much more likely to be true if only one of them says something is true and the other says it's

00:51:38.020 not true could go either way but if there are people on both who say something's true or not

00:51:45.940 true that means something for example even cnn's legal analysts and lots of other democrat legal

00:51:52.980 people said that uh trump's uh stormy daniels hush payment trial was pure lawfare and that if it

00:52:01.620 hadn't been trump nobody would have brought the case now if only fox news told you that or only

00:52:07.620 breitbart you'd say to yourself maybe true maybe spun but if you hear it from the legal analysts on both

00:52:16.500 sides exactly the same that's a real good indication that you're seeing something true

00:52:25.300 so now you have uh fox news ran an article today about snopes pointing out that you know the the

00:52:32.980 fox news approach has always been it's been fake so now you have fox news agreeing with snopes

00:52:39.220 and breitbart joel pollock also writing about this um also noting that snopes is now in conformity

00:52:47.940 so just keep this in mind right the tentpole in other words the most important structure

00:52:56.020 in the tent the tentpole hoax that got biden elected is now known by both the left and the right

00:53:05.460 to be based on the hoax but have i ever taught you about the hoax funnel where once you debunk a hoax

00:53:13.460 people don't say oh i guess you got me you're you're totally right and i'm totally wrong and

00:53:18.420 now that now i see the evidence of that they don't they back up to a related hoax that had nothing to do

00:53:26.500 with the original and they try to claim that the related thing is the thing for example when russia

00:53:33.540 collusion fell apart the democrats didn't say oh god i guess that was just a big old hoax

00:53:40.500 no they said paul manafort went to jail for uh giving some uh let's see internal polling data to

00:53:47.780 a russian oligarch so really it was right all along no that's going down the hoax funnel

00:53:54.900 that it was never about paul manafort doing something with this one russian

00:53:58.980 that was not the russia collusion hoax but once once they lose their main claim as they did when

00:54:08.020 the muller report came out that they had to retreat down the funnel to something that sounds like it

00:54:14.580 and has some factual basis but it's not really the same thing it's not even the same general point

00:54:21.460 so here's what snopes did going down the funnel yes i'm very glad that they said trump did not call

00:54:30.980 the neo-nazis fine people but snopes said it is false that there were any normal people there

00:54:40.340 now um those are my own words normal people in this context would be people who were not racist

00:54:47.140 did not agree with the racists did not march with the racists but still wanted the statues

00:54:53.140 to remain you know they had an opinion they just wanted to be there for that

00:54:57.300 and now snopes says that it's not true they existed how did they explain that i actually talked to them

00:55:04.420 personally i talked to two locals charlottesville locals who saw on the news that there was a protest

00:55:12.900 just down the street and they saw that a whole bunch of people from out of town this is important

00:55:20.420 a whole bunch of people from out of town were coming to their town to tell them what kind of statues they 0.99

00:55:26.500 can have and so some of the locals said well how about fuck all of you how about we decide 0.97

00:55:35.460 if we have these statues and you know they like them for historical reasons i asked directly directly 0.99

00:55:42.580 do you side with agree with or disavow the racists they said very directly oh we totally disavow them

00:55:50.020 we want nothing to do with the racists we're not racist they're they are racist we want nothing to

00:55:56.260 do with them so now once i say that what where do you go on the hoax funnel do you know the third ring

00:56:03.140 of the hoax funnel once i say i have personally done the research and i'm talking to you and i'm telling

00:56:11.140 you that there were fine people there who were not racist and not with them what do they say well

00:56:17.620 scott why would they be marching with the racists then but that didn't happen they were physically

00:56:26.100 separated nowhere near them didn't plan to march with them never would have marched with them hated

00:56:30.500 their guts so then when i point that out that they weren't physically there in fact the police kept

00:56:37.940 everybody away from the marchers so even if you wanted to march with them you couldn't have gotten near

00:56:41.700 it you could have been in the area of the protest but you could have gotten nowhere near the marchers

00:56:46.900 even if you wanted to jump in and help them you could the police were preventing you from getting

00:56:51.300 near them for good reasons so what comes next how could anybody not know it was a nazi event

00:57:05.300 so scott since they all had to know it was nazi organized i'm not really believing that they

00:57:13.780 went there for their own purposes because who goes to a nazi event scott who goes to a nazi event

00:57:21.300 to which i say again i talked to him and i asked that question and they said i don't know it was a nazi

00:57:29.940 event i just heard there was a thing on on the news so the local news reported it that there's people

00:57:37.860 protesting statues and they had an opinion so they got in their car and they drove down there

00:57:44.980 that's not what it was they had an opinion they drove down there to you know maybe to watch but

00:57:51.300 maybe also to have their opinion known so uh there so so snopes is not credible in the sense that they're

00:58:01.460 still lying and they have to know they're lying because they did the same thing not snopes necessarily

00:58:08.340 but the way the uh the 2020 election is covered they act like if they don't do the research they

00:58:16.500 can say there was no problem with the election well nobody found anything so therefore there was nothing to

00:58:23.140 be found that's not how anything works if nothing's found you only know that nothing was found

00:58:28.820 it would be a rare situation where such as looking in a box that you have in your hand

00:58:36.660 where not finding it would conclusively tell you there's nothing in it right if you're holding a

00:58:41.220 box and you're looking at the box well yes you can tell that if you looked at it and it's not there

00:58:46.180 there's nothing in the box but you can't tell that about this big system where you couldn't possibly

00:58:52.020 see all the moving parts yeah that's not a thing so to say that there were no fine people

00:58:59.460 when the only people who tried to check found them the new york times found some and i found some

00:59:05.780 easily so that's the third ring of the the hoax but it's enough so that trump if he chose to

00:59:15.220 could say you know this snopes which leans left said the fine people thing was a complete hoax

00:59:21.620 if he said that during the debate that'd be pretty strong because the democrats have heard of snopes and

00:59:29.140 they would take that seriously i think

00:59:30.740 well there's new news about the alleged badness of paul ryan uh cash patel is saying that there's a

00:59:40.580 british corpse there was some kind of case over there that somehow has produced information that

00:59:45.700 we hadn't seen before that alleges that paul ryan democrat some would say uh you know anti-trumper

00:59:55.380 but i'm sorry a republican yeah he was a republican leader but an anti-trumper so an anti-trump

01:00:02.660 republican who was also on the board of fox news i believe but uh we're finding out or the allegation

01:00:09.860 is that he got a copy of the steel dossier in 2016 and never told anybody in other words he was one of

01:00:18.260 the first people to have a full copy of the steel dossier and never till this day mentioned it now the

01:00:27.140 question you have to ask yourself is since we know the steel dossier was created as a fraud for the

01:00:34.100 intention of destroying trump doesn't it raise a little question about why they would give one to a republican

01:00:41.220 if you suspect suspected that paul ryan you know may be more uh connected to the military industrial

01:00:50.660 complex and not so much a republican this would be evidence for that claim that they knew that it

01:00:57.780 wasn't his party that mattered it just mattered if he was in favor of big wars and maybe he was

01:01:04.500 now i'm just speculating we don't know what was in the mind of paul ryan we don't know why he kept

01:01:09.700 it you know maybe he has a perfectly good reason i mean the reason could be as simple as he didn't

01:01:14.660 think it was real so he just didn't mention it it could be just that so i wouldn't jump to the

01:01:22.020 conclusion that we know what this means but is it disturbing very how did we get to that today

01:01:31.700 without knowing that he was one of the first people who had a full copy of the steel dossier

01:01:36.420 and what did he think about it when he saw it did he believe it so we do have some questions don't we

01:01:45.220 we have questions all right um now biden is uh gaslighting israel so the democrats are very

01:01:54.260 consistent uh they're they're in full narcissist mode where they'll tell you that what you're looking at

01:02:00.580 you can't see so as you know when we look at joe biden walking like a cadaver and and babbling

01:02:09.460 we know his brain is gone so what do the democrats say no he's fine what are you talking about oh in

01:02:17.140 private he's fine yeah it's probably just some cheap fakes no you're not seeing what you're seeing

01:02:22.100 no no he's fine so if they can sell that if they can sell that um they can sell anything and now

01:02:34.260 they're gaslighting israel uh joel pollack had an article on this in breitbart um so apparently the uh

01:02:42.580 who is the uh yova gallant he's the head of the military um had to come to america to see if he can

01:02:50.180 get the biden administration to release the shipment of arms and ammunition that israel

01:02:56.340 says it needs but the white white house claims it is not withholding so israel believes that they're

01:03:04.740 not giving them the weapons and what is the biden white house saying yes we are well no you're not

01:03:13.300 because you have the weapons we need the weapons you know what the weapons are you've agreed to give us

01:03:18.980 the weapons we don't have the weapons you have not given us the weapons that's why we're sending our

01:03:25.780 top military guy to see what can change so we can get the weapons and what does the biden administration

01:03:34.100 say oh you have all the weapons no we don't have the weapons i swear to god we don't have any weapons

01:03:42.100 that you said you were going to give us you did not send them yeah we did sure we did that's their

01:03:49.860 entire administration

01:03:53.460 it's just telling you that what you see you're not seeing i've never seen anything like this before

01:03:59.700 the the fine people hoax is an example of that all you have to do is look at the transcript and they

01:04:07.220 would say that's not there how about the the drinking bleach hoax uh it's obviously he was

01:04:14.420 talking about light you can see mentioned light before and after his comments it was always liked

01:04:19.940 no it wasn't what what are you doing what are you doing to me it's just pure gaslighting

01:04:28.180 but now the democrats are even gaslighting their peers with fake dissertations so there's an allegation

01:04:34.420 now that uh democrat congressman jamaul bowman of new york uh there's an accusation that his uh

01:04:42.020 dissertation uh was gotta has a whole bunch of stolen parts from other people's work

01:04:50.420 so do you know what is going to happen when somebody says look we found this quote from somebody else's

01:04:58.260 prior work and here's the paragraph you wrote and you can see that yours is identical to this other one

01:05:05.620 and therefore pretty obvious in case that you stole it do you know what jamal bowman's gonna say

01:05:14.500 no i didn't well see but here it is like it's well documented and then here's yours right next to it

01:05:21.620 you see they're the same right no they're not no but they are they're actually actually the same look

01:05:28.660 look look the words these words are the same as these words and the date on it is clearly before yours

01:05:34.820 and you even you've incited it no i didn't well here's the citation

01:05:41.860 and here's the exact wording and you didn't put it in quotes

01:05:44.580 yes i did

01:05:50.180 now i'm just joking about jamal bowman but it feels like every conversation is just going that way now

01:05:56.580 no we didn't i don't know what you're talking about

01:06:01.860 all right

01:06:04.660 um now there's an interesting question and um i was reading about this in uh let's see

01:06:14.900 john solomon and steven richards reporting on this in just the news website

01:06:22.260 uh the question is from the uh there's the committee that's trying to figure out what the

01:06:26.980 so-called biden crime family was up to and uh they're wondering now if biden was giving quote

01:06:34.820 defensive briefings on what hunter was doing overseas now a defensive briefing would be you should just know

01:06:42.980 this yeah do you know what your son is doing maybe we should mention that we picked up some indication

01:06:51.620 that your son is doing some sketchy looking things in another country now i feel like that would have

01:06:58.260 been normal business meaning that surely the government had an idea what hunter was doing in ukraine

01:07:06.980 surely some of the intel people thought maybe we should tell biden since he's in office this is when

01:07:14.260 he was vice president and it seems likely they would have clued him in which would mean that biden was

01:07:22.740 lying when he said he didn't know anything about his son's business uh etc so it could be an important

01:07:29.620 thing um if only because it would show some deception but uh here's a little reminder of things we do

01:07:39.140 know according also to just news uh according to them there's a mountain of incontrovertible evidence

01:07:47.060 evidence now that's that's narrative by the way uh if you want to learn to spot narrative versus fact

01:07:55.860 it the what follows are facts but the characterization of the facts as a mountain of incontrovertible

01:08:04.580 that's narrative right because i'm sure that there's somebody who says it's not true so everything's

01:08:12.100 it's hard to be incontrovertible but anyway here's some things that we're pretty sure

01:08:16.740 are demonstrated to be truth now um let's see that hunter biden made millions while his father was

01:08:24.580 vice president so they now have a good idea the timing of things from business associates with

01:08:30.660 unsavory backgrounds including a ukrainian energy firm deemed to corrupt by the state department

01:08:37.380 a chinese executive convicted by the department of justice of corruption a russian oligarch unable to

01:08:43.220 get an american bank account because of red flags and a romanian aligarch charged with bribery in his

01:08:48.580 country and two americans convicted of securities frauds so i don't have an opinion about any of that being

01:08:58.660 especially illegal but it does seem hard to believe that biden wasn't briefed on it so keep an eye on this one

01:09:09.220 i think they're going to show that he was briefed somehow i think they're going to be able to find

01:09:12.900 that out well meanwhile there's still two astronauts stranded on the international space station and

01:09:19.860 boeing's struggling to fix some uh some hardware software problems in their ship to go and and get

01:09:27.300 them if they miss the window they have to wait a bunch of time because you can't go up there anytime you want

01:09:31.940 for physics reasons um so is boeing always going to look like a dei problem now i have no reason to

01:09:45.860 believe that dei has anything to do with any of their problems but it's happening at the same time as dei

01:09:53.860 so don't you assume they're related as just a working assumption now it's unfair and it's like

01:10:04.340 super racist to even imagine that this could have any anything to do with their sudden decrease in

01:10:10.340 quality but remember it's not racist because you could replace the races or just even reverse them

01:10:18.340 and you get the same impact so if you can put any race into the situation let's say the system you can

01:10:24.260 put any race into it and you get the same outcome i'm not sure that's race that's about the system

01:10:31.380 if if the if the race is irrelevant to the outcome it's the system and what i mean by the system is the

01:10:37.460 demand for a specific kind of qualified person far exceeds the supply and in the normal american not

01:10:46.740 american but human way that we deal with things people are going to hire people underqualified so

01:10:52.980 they can meet their diversity goals because that's your that's your bonus this year you won't know if

01:10:59.220 the hires did a bad job for a few years but you want to get that bonus this year so you're going to

01:11:06.660 you're going to bend things a little bit to get your diversity goals met

01:11:09.460 in theory planes should be falling from the sky because of dei as a system not because of anybody's

01:11:19.700 demographic group just as a system they can't possibly work on paper on paper it can't work

01:11:27.700 it'd be one thing to say well we implemented it poorly that's not what's happening on paper it can't

01:11:34.660 be implemented correctly because you don't have enough supply the only way you can do it is in the

01:11:40.100 the very long run where you do a much better job of training young people so that you have a better

01:11:45.780 supply of diverse candidates in which case you wouldn't need dei let me say it again how many unemployed

01:11:54.820 black aeronautic engineers do you believe there are in the whole world black qualified 1.00

01:12:02.820 aviation engineers that can't get work none they're exactly zero so if you want diversity

01:12:14.100 you fix the qualifications of the people starting in preschool and you just make sure you don't let 0.97

01:12:19.940 up make sure everybody's got a good shot that takes care of itself you would have full employment

01:12:26.580 of all qualified people of every every demographic group now if you've got a bunch of people who can't

01:12:32.340 get jobs because they're unqualified it just means you didn't do a good enough job you know training

01:12:38.260 them and maybe they were trained for the wrong stuff not everybody can be aeronautic engineers i know i couldn't

01:12:48.820 well anyway kathy wood who's the ceo of arc investments big investment company she's a big name in the

01:12:55.300 investment world you should know um is going to vote for trump so yet another smart person

01:13:03.540 in the pro-trump family now remember when you couldn't really say that out loud

01:13:09.380 if you had a if you had a business you just couldn't say it

01:13:14.420 but uh apparently she doesn't mind i think she's pro elon musk as well

01:13:19.620 all right um so on tuesday i'm going to talk to michael in black um i'm gonna have a special live

01:13:32.020 stream it'll be after this one at 11 a.m my time on tuesday which would be 2 p.m on the east coast

01:13:39.700 and uh assuming that you know nothing comes up between now and then the question will be not not

01:13:48.660 is trump good or bad you know i i know where that conversation would go so there's no point in having

01:13:53.780 it but rather he asked a fascinating question how do you know the news is real and i've got about 20

01:14:01.460 things to answer that question uh but one of the things he posted this morning was there was a msnbc

01:14:08.340 interview uh in which somebody from the heritage foundation was being interviewed and he said and

01:14:15.860 again it's a reasonable a reasonable observation isn't this real news because where it all started

01:14:22.820 was me saying all the news is fake so here was somebody on the right a respected voice in the right

01:14:30.660 talking to a host on msnbc who obviously leans left i think it was bernie's old campaign manager

01:14:37.060 and and isn't that real news well i would call that opinion there was one person brought on to say

01:14:47.140 what do you think about all this stuff and then he did now it's useful but it's opinion i wouldn't call

01:14:54.180 that news so we have lots to talk about about what's news and what's opinion um but opinions are true

01:15:03.380 in the sense that the person saying it often believes it it's a it's a true opinion but that

01:15:08.900 doesn't mean it's news exactly that's just an opinion all right and that ladies and gentlemen

01:15:18.340 brings me to the exciting conclusion of my prepared remarks um you may have noticed i did

01:15:25.300 a little tease on the x platform of the dilbert sunday comic uh dilbert's company is going to start

01:15:31.460 making uh aircraft it might remind you of a specific company that's having some issues right now

01:15:39.780 with the quality of their construction um but you can only see that if you subscribe on x see my

01:15:46.180 profile or if you are on the locals platform also subscription but on locals you'd see robot reads news

01:15:55.140 my other comic and uh man caves and all kinds of fun other content a lot of political stuff if you only

01:16:02.260 want the comic get it at x all right um thank you all right i'm gonna end uh now for the three other

01:16:17.140 platforms and just talk to locals thanks for joining everybody else see you tomorrow
