00:01:02.020 was that was sketchy you guys we have quadruple going on over here i'm seeing someone saying
00:01:08.180 there are actually two rumble streams and someone's on both of them wow does this give us
00:01:15.640 double the ratings so no youtube came up all right everybody's whatever platform you're watching on
00:01:23.160 hit the like the subscribe the notification bell the hearts everything uh we'll see how this goes
00:01:29.800 today so off with a great start um you guys listen it's a it's a big week i need coffee
00:01:38.600 we have a lot going on today for you
00:01:41.880 and can we all just have a sip please
00:01:44.960 thank you
00:01:45.960 it's time for the simultaneous sip
00:01:49.000 and all you need
00:01:49.700 is really not much
00:01:52.460 all you need is a cup or a mug or a glass
00:01:54.580 a tank or a chalice or a stein
00:01:55.780 a canteen drink or a flask
00:01:56.880 a vessel of any kind
00:01:57.880 fill it with your favorite liquid
00:01:59.940 I like coffee
00:02:01.660 and get ready for the unparalleled pleasure
00:02:05.300 the dopamine hit of the day
00:02:06.580 the thing that makes everything better
00:02:08.580 It's a beverage that is spewing hearts
00:02:12.160 I think
00:02:13.440 If I've got my left and right correct
00:02:16.100 Hearts coming out of my cup
00:02:18.100 Look at that
00:02:19.060 Cool illusion
00:02:20.860 And get ready for the simultaneous sip
00:02:23.520 It happens now
00:02:25.200 I realize if you're watching this
00:02:32.680 On YouTube later
00:02:34.360 Where we upload it or on podcast
00:02:37.100 What I said about the cup full of hearts makes no sense in your world.
00:02:41.620 But remember, we're all watching two movies on one screen.
00:02:46.200 So don't be surprised if what you see is different from what other people see.
00:02:53.380 Marcella, why are you laughing?
00:02:56.140 It's just because I was like, what hearts?
00:02:58.660 And I was like, oh, it must have been during that time.
00:03:01.100 And then he talked about it.
00:03:02.360 Oh, yeah.
00:03:02.920 like now on replay you wouldn't no youtube also has hearts too yeah an x but i think he that was
00:03:12.280 like periscope so when you tap the screen the hearts would come out and where his mug was
00:03:16.920 positioned it looked like they were coming out of his mug so he was like ooh fun feature
00:03:24.120 so good morning it is may 4th 2026 you are at the scott adams school i am erica and i am joined by
00:03:32.040 marcella and owen and we have um we have a week planned for you guys but we got to get through
00:03:38.760 today first so we're really happy to see everybody um lots of stuff all right so you guys there was
00:03:45.320 a lot of news over the weekend i have to say we're gonna save some of it for tomorrow because
00:03:50.200 there was just too much so we had to pick which ones we wanted to go with first but i want to
00:03:55.160 thank Dawn. Dawn, you sent us a cute animal clip to scratch my itch, and I love this dog
00:04:03.420 trying to walk like a penguin. So just let me start with that.
00:04:10.140 Oh my gosh. He's walking just like them. He's copying their waddle.
00:04:14.480 I can't handle it. That's the funniest thing I've ever seen. He even does the hips.
00:04:18.980 i love that dogs are the best okay so oh and you guys one more thing in animal news
00:04:29.780 actually two one more thing in animal news rfkj in perfect fashion i first i was like is he
00:04:39.960 pointing a gun at the camera and then i'm like no it's a freaking starling bird
00:04:44.620 at dulles airport so he rescued a starling of course like he just cannot help but always have
00:04:51.360 an animal somewhere on him or strapped to his car or wherever but here he is rescuing a starling at
00:04:57.320 dulles airport so shout out to rfkj let the conspiracy theories begin about what he did
00:05:03.380 with the bird after he's studying it oh and he's studying it he rescued it with his bare hands
00:05:10.980 Yep. Nothing shady is going to happen from there.
00:05:17.180 So I'm almost done with my clips, you guys. Okay. So this is serious. And this could have been
00:05:23.620 really, really, really messed up. So I'm going to show you a still frame first. Okay.
00:05:30.620 Now see the circle there. It's a beautiful day on the road.
00:05:35.820 that uh that nice man right there is delivering baked goods for a bakery and what you see out his
00:05:42.940 window is the landing gear of a united flight coming into newark airport going right over the
00:05:52.380 turnpike yes the landing gear that's about to hit the box trailer behind his cab can you imagine
00:06:00.120 this? Okay. So let me show you the video. One more time. Here comes the landing gear
00:06:15.760 out the window. Oh yeah. We wouldn't have shown that if, if the results weren't like miraculously
00:06:29.000 okay. So he had minor injuries. The plane landed safely. Everybody was okay. But that was, um,
00:06:37.380 Nick Sorter posted that one. So that was United airlines, but a Boeing 767 hitting a delivery
00:06:43.760 truck on the turnpike coming into newark and the flight and the driver that everybody was
00:06:50.860 safe and survived but that is insanity what's going on in new jersey erica okay you guys new
00:06:57.560 jersey like we need to have new jersey week because apparently i was gonna say our country
00:07:03.480 because this state feels like its own country sometimes is out of control so i don't know
00:07:10.380 what's going on in New Jersey. I don't know if the drones sprayed us with something, but it is
00:07:16.100 a mess over here. Did you have an update on that story, Marcella? Yeah, the update is that the NTSB
00:07:24.600 investigators are going to be there arriving to Dan Newark to investigate it. There should be a
00:07:30.580 report within 30 days. They want to talk to the pilots. They want to figure out what happened.
00:07:36.560 And it happened to be flight 169 that hit the guy.
00:07:44.860 And it also hit a light pole.
00:07:48.420 So there's a Schrodinger issue whether the airplane actually hit the delivery truck or whether it got closed but it hit the light pole, which then hit the delivery truck.
00:08:03.180 So there was confusing news.
00:08:05.100 It hit something.
00:08:06.560 it definitely got hit by something and when you are going down the turnpike the jersey turnpike
00:08:12.080 that's my airport i mean the plane i don't feel like they come in that low what let me just say
00:08:19.680 this yeah it's coming from venice italy yeah what is that supposed to mean yeah i don't know there's
00:08:29.600 a lot of wine in venice italy i'm not sure yeah but they had time to sober up with that flight
00:08:36.560 Oh my God. No, but they, you know, I, I never see the planes that, that low, but lately we've
00:08:42.920 seen some clips that people have posted where, where they are coming in oddly low. Um, maybe
00:08:49.480 they're playing a game of chicken, these pilots, but it's pretty crazy. So you're, you, you have
00:08:56.400 the, you're the local reporter there, you know? So is the, is the turnpike where this happened
00:09:04.440 very close to the landing area of Newark? Well, the turnpike runs parallel to the airport. So the
00:09:11.860 airport's here and the turnpike runs like this and the runway runs like this also. So they are
00:09:18.660 parallel, but I guess I obviously have a runway going the other way too, but it is close, but
00:09:25.260 never in my life. I mean, I've been going by that airport my entire life. Have I seen planes that
00:09:31.100 low like saint martin landing you know that island on saint martin where they like come right over
00:09:35.780 the beach it's not like that it's not like you're thinking oh let's go drive down the turnpike and
00:09:40.680 hope a plane almost hits us so this is weird to me so we'll see what's happening um you know
00:09:47.940 looks like there was a jeep that was also hit by the light pole oh yes well yes the driver did have
00:09:54.800 minor injuries you guys but the fact that they were minor injuries i think he was cut with the
00:09:59.360 glass and thank God he's okay. And that everybody's okay. So, you know, that was just interesting.
00:10:05.520 I know your, your take was the Dilbert filter take, Erica, that it was the incompetence, right?
00:10:12.180 Well, perhaps maybe. I am wonder, I did post on X, like what the heck is happening? You know,
00:10:19.480 what I feel like everything's the Dilbert filter right now at all times, because I feel like
00:10:25.960 everything's backwards. Oh, tomorrow, you guys, we're also going to talk about Spirit Airlines
00:10:32.080 because how can we not? But there's a lot going on with transportation is what I just want to say.
00:10:38.800 And it's incompetence. But anyway, so I'm going to move on from that story. Owen, I'm going to
00:10:45.500 let you kick us off with a story. And you guys, we also have an important update for you today
00:10:51.160 and an announcement coming up so our news segment's going to be a little bit abbreviated and then
00:10:56.520 we're going to get into uh that in a bit okay so owen take us away yeah well there was a poll
00:11:03.000 about um whether or not we're winning the war in iran so i i wanted to ask the the audience
00:11:09.920 if you could you know if you knew the answer the percentage about what percentage of people
00:11:16.640 don't think that we're winning the war with iran i wonder i gotta think about that what percentage
00:11:24.640 don't think we're winning the war and i ran oh oh we have the smartest audience in the world
00:11:32.400 you guys how'd you all come up with that at the same time it's actually 26 26 think we're not
00:11:40.560 winning the war with iran 74 think we are winning that's amazing so apparently the there it is uh
00:11:49.200 you know i think 69 of the gop say we're on the right track with it and 19 democrats 22
00:11:55.920 of independents so a lot of uh differences of opinion there in terms of overall whether we're
00:12:01.840 on track as a country wait and who said who was the um lowest one the democrats oh duh okay
00:12:10.560 Yeah. 19% of Democrats think we're on the right track.
00:12:13.800 Okay. And 22% of independents?
00:12:16.340 Yeah.
00:12:16.820 Okay. 0.94
00:12:17.860 Which I'd like to be higher, but I guess we'll see what happens, especially after the Iran war fades into the distance, which I'm hoping it will, but it keeps going, so we'll see.
00:12:26.600 It is hard to know what winning looks like too, though. 0.80
00:12:29.160 Yeah. So the same 74%, I mean, it might be a different 74%, but I'm guessing it's the same support stopping Iran's nukes.
00:12:37.060 and they back Israel over Hamas so it seems like there's you know people are lining up on both
00:12:43.480 sides on that and 80 percent approved the Trump ceasefire and 50 percent 57 percent approved the
00:12:49.820 Hormuz blockade so all right I mean so we're in a ceasefire right now correct yeah I mean I think
00:13:00.440 you know there's again these sort of two movies on one screen always with what's going on with war
00:13:05.480 I think for the most part, I haven't heard much about actual strikes happening or things like that.
00:13:11.640 I think I did see a story about some kind of cargo ship being attacked by a small craft or something like that.
00:13:17.020 So there may be a few violations here and there, but nothing big.
00:13:20.720 I think there was some kind of deal that Iran put in front of the U.S. to say, here's what we want to end this.
00:13:27.820 um and i think trump's reaction at the time i think he may have been asked about it by the
00:13:33.480 press or something because his response was we got this thing it sounded like he was basically
00:13:38.600 saying he hadn't seen it yet and he was already concluding he's like i doubt it's going to be
00:13:42.720 acceptable so like he's basically saying i'm not really optimistic but he'll review it um and i
00:13:49.120 think iran is asking for like a 60-day ceasefire um and you know may or may not happen so you know
00:13:56.700 we'll see where it goes from here. I think from what I've heard recently out of Scott Besant and
00:14:01.400 Trump and others, I think the current strategy is still to kind of start them out economically
00:14:06.740 by just not letting them sell their oil and ship their oil. So then they have to figure out where
00:14:12.220 to store it and they're running out of places to store it. So I think by losing hundreds of
00:14:16.980 millions of dollars every day and not being able to store their oil, hopefully the strategy,
00:14:22.740 the hope i think with the strategy is that they would just have to make a deal because they
00:14:27.540 couldn't afford not to right now not to throw you off owen but i did see that uh or or marcella if
00:14:35.380 you know that the last tanker of mid-east oil just rolled into california um does that mean
00:14:42.640 something for california now do we know i don't know i i don't think there's an issue with i mean
00:14:51.400 It's just overpriced. Well, price went higher on the WTI, the oil, but I would have to discuss
00:15:02.720 the new update on Iran because there's new updates for the Strait of Hormuz, which is why that went
00:15:08.740 up. But in regards to California, the main reason is Gavin Newsom and the Democrats. I mean, the
00:15:14.600 taxation on it but um i i don't know it's just going to cost more expense but we have texas we
00:15:22.480 have other places to get the oil from this is going to be more expensive um did you want to
00:15:29.840 give us that update oh yes i do yeah um president so there's there's project freedom now it's
00:15:38.460 another band name. I love how they play their, their drums, Project Freedom. So Project Freedom,
00:15:45.340 um, President Trump posted yesterday about Project Freedom. CENTCOM posted yesterday about
00:15:52.520 Project Freedom would be starting today on May 4th. And the, basically it's, they had differences
00:15:59.800 of opinion, uh, CENTCOM and President Trump. President Trump was talking about any Strait
00:16:05.920 of Hormuz, Project Freedom is regarding the Strait of Hormuz, and being able to get ships
00:16:13.180 that are stranded there out of the Strait of Hormuz and being able to guide them with
00:16:18.660 our help. But CENTCOM, the way they put out their story was a little more expansive, where
00:16:29.440 where CENTCOM was saying that the military would help the Strait of Hormuz be open again.
00:16:40.720 So basically guiding all ships from there.
00:16:43.960 There has been only two ships that have CENTCOM this morning,
00:16:48.500 about six in the morning, just put out another post saying that
00:16:52.300 two ships were able to cross the Strait of Hormuz without any issue.
00:16:57.520 This has caused the due to the fact that there's all this issue. Iran is saying that having naval ships in the Strait of Hormuz is basically tantamount to basically violating the ceasefire.
00:17:15.880 so they want to attack. They also claim Iran also claimed that they attacked a U.S. Navy vessel
00:17:22.540 but the CENTCOMP then rejected that and said no no ships were struck again like Owen was saying
00:17:30.200 two movies on one screen. Iran is doing this mainly for their audience saying oh we attacked
00:17:37.840 a Navy ship we're oh oh we're in control of the strain of Hormuz like we control it that's how 0.75
00:17:45.500 they talk. Right. And, um, and the U S is saying, no, we control it. So we'll see. And in between
00:17:54.320 everything is, we're there. Um, so there's prevention, um, in regards to whether there's
00:18:05.280 going to be attacks between Iran and the U S but it looks like, uh, it's just going to be a S you
00:18:14.180 You know, stalemate as always is, but they were, it basically doesn't, doesn't sound good for the oil prices at this time, but we'll see.
00:18:28.900 Okay.
00:18:29.760 Did you want to add on to that, Owen, or is that the chance?
00:18:32.340 Well, I would just say that I think the California situation is partly due to their policies about refining oil and, you know, they're against pipelines and so they don't have any pipelines to get their oil domestically.
00:18:44.180 So they're like kind of this isolated island where they have to refine their oil a different
00:18:48.220 way because they have all these regulations about what the mixture needs to look like
00:18:52.040 and that makes it a lot more expensive in addition to all the taxes Marcella mentioned.
00:18:55.940 So it's a cascading failure at this point that they were kind of dependent on all this
00:19:01.120 stuff that they've outsourced in terms of where their oil comes from.
00:19:03.860 They import a lot more oil than other states do and they have these special refineries
00:19:08.840 and a lot of the refiners are actually leaving California because they just say we can't,
00:19:12.280 we're not going to do this anymore. And so they've lost something like 18% of their refining
00:19:16.780 capacity over the last year or so. And so I think they're just going downhill in terms of their
00:19:21.860 energy that they are going to have really expensive gas and a lot more expensive than
00:19:27.440 the rest of the country. California just is messing up everything. You want to know why
00:19:31.860 California is messing up everything? And only because, only because it was like, you said
00:19:36.320 Beetlejuice, you said Newsom. So you brought up his name, Marcella, and I'm just going to show you
00:19:41.820 this is your governor california and maybe your president one day determine our fading future
00:19:49.820 that fundamental notion of agency i think is important more broadly and i think that goes
00:19:54.900 to some of the issues on the right determine our fading future and that fundamental notion
00:20:00.080 i think is important i think god imagine i have hand motions too but maybe i need they make sense
00:20:11.800 my hand motions like i can't with him it's a california hand motion thing he's like driving
00:20:19.120 the car i can't okay so anyway it's i'm sure it's some kind of like jedi mind trick he's putting on
00:20:28.360 us he's like hypnotizing us right now in his defense the reason california have has this
00:20:37.600 gas tax and additional gas tax over the gas tax is because of the california voter because we
00:20:44.880 had um we have in um the law that any taxes must be passed by propositions through california
00:20:54.740 voting um and so yeah they voted for it so it was it was like before newsom but i think he also did
00:21:04.720 some so so Newsom is blaming the voters no I'm not saying he's blaming the voters I'm just
00:21:11.960 clarifying that Californians voted for this I mean I will just say what I've said many times
00:21:19.800 before I think California's government is hostile to its citizens
