On today's episode of Steak Monday, Scott Ritchie talks about the Boston Celtics' win over the New England Patriots, the Toronto Raptors' victory over the Los Angeles Lakers, and more. Plus, he gives his thoughts on a crazy weekend in sports, including the first trillionaire of the 21st century.
00:01:12.180Barely. I know President Trump didn't. You guys, what a jam-packed weekend. I don't even know where to start except for one logical place, but I'll just wait one second for you guys to come in.
00:01:25.940and oh my gosh you guys i was pulling clips i'm like i don't know where to begin i don't know
00:01:31.880where to end there's so much going on oh lordy but it's going to be fun today oh what is this clip
00:01:37.380owen marcella how are your weekends great i mean for me i'm a soccer fan so like
00:01:44.580yeah watching and then you know i'm an american fan so it was like the most amazing thing and
00:01:52.540an NBA fan as well. So it was lovely. Yeah. Mine was good. It was busy. I had a lot of stuff going
00:01:58.060on. So just trying to fit it all in. All right. Well, I have not had a sip. I'm waiting for you
00:02:04.140guys. So let's do it now. All that matters is you're here now. And you are here for some of
00:02:11.920the best parts of your day. Maybe the best, really, if I might be a modest. It's called
00:02:18.280the simultaneous sip and you don't need much. All you need is a cup or a mug or a glass of
00:02:21.520Decker, chalice, or stein, a canteen jug, or flask,
00:19:24.320and I know that they have like facial recognition software now that they're using to try to find
00:19:31.540some of these people but anyway you get the idea this goes on and on oh and the the school buses
00:19:39.180were for the world cup they were to drive the fans from New York City to New Jersey Stadium
00:19:49.380Yeah. So that's Mondami's New York. Now in Japan, when they go to a stadium, visiting stadium or home stadium, they bring these garbage bags with them, the fans. And then what they do is they clean up the stadium together, everybody, before they leave.
00:20:09.220you should see how they left the locker room of the visiting stadium they were at not like one
00:20:15.940piece of trash anywhere they like folded up everything and stacked everything in like nice
00:20:20.900little neat like one little spot and the whole locker room looks spotless so this is the compare0.66
00:20:27.460and contrast okay you're gonna see japan how they behave on the left and nicks fans or whoever they
00:20:33.860were on the right. Yeah. After a game, this is what we're doing. Yeah.
00:20:48.760Look at Japan. Look at their blue bags, picking up everything. I mean, is this really the country1.00
00:20:55.400we've become? So I just couldn't help it when I was picking clips today. Oh, and what do you,
00:21:02.980You know, don't you feel like if we handed out blue garbage bags to fans that they would0.99
00:21:08.080just put them over people's heads and try to kill them?0.99
00:21:32.980Um, you know, so I don't know, Marcella, when you see those two things, I mean, it may,
00:21:39.220it really, like, I'm not trying to bring anyone down.
00:21:41.660I really am trying to say, you know, let's look around and become more patriotic because
00:21:48.000the, the differences that I'm seeing everywhere, it's so sad.0.54
00:21:52.720And by the way, this is how Japan and then Marcella, you're going to give us all the
00:21:57.100soccer scores after this. This is how Japan celebrates their team winning in the streets
00:22:05.500of Japan. Watch this. So what's happening is they wait for the light to change. They run into the
00:22:16.940middle. They're celebrating. And then they're like, listen, we don't want to be obnoxious.
00:22:21.600The cars have to go again. So when the light's ready to turn back, they run back to the sidewalk.
00:22:27.100you're like oh oh oh all right wait cars have to go
00:22:31.240time's up everyone back to the sidewalk so cars can go through
00:22:37.140and they sing and hear the whistle time's up
00:22:42.380i can't i'm without speech owen can we do this here probably not
00:22:56.160i don't know i think we can because the u.s won the soccer game and there was a lot of soccer
00:23:03.320fans celebrating around pasadena and la and none of them were trying to kill each other i was afraid
00:23:10.200i was fearful about the game was played in la so i thought oh there's gonna be issues you know
00:23:18.180after they win four to one and dominate and no so i guess it depends on what type of fans you are
00:23:25.260I mean, I know some rioting is kind of normal, or at least not uncommon in other countries after World Cup or soccer type events. So I wouldn't be surprised if we see some violence here. But honestly, I'm more concerned just about, you know, protecting against terrorism, because I think to me, we're in an environment now where we've got a lot of enemies. And, you know, whether it's Iran or other people that might just not like us, they may be trying to take advantage of this.
00:23:53.380And I know the FBI is aware of it and they've been trying to track it down and, you know, prevent it from happening.
00:23:57.520And I'm hoping they'll be able to do that.
00:23:58.860But that's that would be my bigger concern is, you know, I mean, obviously I would be concerned about like if I was bringing my kids and they were little and, you know, keeping them away from any kind of violence.
00:24:08.820But I think to me, the bigger concern would be any kind of terrorist attack.
00:49:12.440The United States will be hitting Iran, whose Navy, Air Force, radar, and aircraft and all other forms of defense together with its most offensive capability are gone very hard tonight.0.97
00:49:21.780At some point in the not too distant future, we will be taking Karg Island and other oil infrastructure points and assume total control of their oil and gas markets.0.95
00:49:29.820Much like we have with Venezuela, which is working out brilliantly for both Venezuela and the United States of America.
00:49:35.260Thank you for your attention to this matter, President.
00:49:37.040Donald J. Trump. All right. So what's the update today? Do we still have a thing?
00:49:42.640In theory, we have a deal. So that's the latest word. I don't think we have very many details of
00:49:47.420what that deal consists of, but supposedly there was some kind of electronically signed deal
00:49:53.020that was made on Sunday. And so I think none of what we just read is necessarily going to happen,
00:50:00.380but there have also, of course, been violations of the ceasefire already,
00:50:03.540that there's stuff going on in Lebanon
00:50:29.180um well we don't know what the actual deal says but the left is going crazy ms now and cnn are like
00:50:39.380it's worse than obama's deal so first they are like oh trump needs to make peace because we
00:50:46.140don't want more and then now they now that trump has a deal they're like oh my god you should have
00:50:52.740seen them they're like this morning they were like we don't know what's in it it's gonna he's
00:50:58.220she's going to give more money to than Obama ever gave 10 times more money to Iranians because
00:51:04.740Iranians would never do this for free. And then they see every single negative thing. We don't
00:51:11.620know what's in the deal. However, Iran came out with 14 points of what might be in the deal,
00:51:20.760what they allege is in the deal and that didn't sound so good so and i don't even think it's
00:51:27.940possible because one of the points was that israel would basically leave the area they've
00:51:36.020conquered of lebanon and i doubt they will because i think uh yeah i again you guys like i'm not
00:51:44.080anti this i'm not anti that okay just please don't put me in a box i'm just looking at this
00:51:49.120from an outsider we're obviously tied up in this with israel like every time we get to this point
00:51:56.720israel bb shoots off another bomb and then everyone's like no he's defending israel
00:52:02.960okay but like we're not israel like we're trying to get this thing done and get the heck out of
00:52:08.440here so i feel like he's not being a good team player bb um and i know this is going to make
00:52:14.140Mark Levin, very upset, but Mark, um, we're Americans. We live in America. Okay. And we
00:52:21.300want this to stop. So sorry for everyone who's going to call me, whatever the name is. I forget
00:52:26.540what they call you. I don't care. I want this to stop. It's enough. And that's why every time we're
00:52:32.160like, we have an agreement and we reached a deal. I'm like, did we really? Because part of a deal
00:52:37.500is that all the sides have to agree to it to make it bind and make it work and we cannot make a deal
00:52:45.500with iran without israel obviously because if israel doesn't agree or bb doesn't agree to
00:52:51.640whatever our deal is it's not going to work so i i don't know i i'm i'm bummed i'm really bummed
00:52:58.040i'm sick of it and i know that trump had some very strong language again for bb and he you know0.98
00:53:06.320told him like, how stupid can you be and to knock it off? And now I'm only going to single out Mark0.99
00:53:12.300Levin just because it's fun. And now Mark Levin is going to scream extra loud today because he's
00:53:17.400so upset that our president had harsh words with Netanyahu. So anyway, I don't even know where I'm
00:53:25.640going with it. I just want this to end. And we're just too wrapped up with what Israel wants and
00:53:32.360what they want and what we want have nothing to do with each other so i don't know owen what do
00:53:37.680you what's your take on that i i don't know that i could really predict exactly what's going to
00:53:43.160happen i think there is of course the theory at least that netanyahu wants to stay at war to avoid
00:53:48.400his case coming to trial that some people say is bogus some people say is not and some people say
00:53:54.960he's making his war decisions based on that some people say he's not and um trump is saying they
00:54:01.060have a deal some people are saying he doesn't i mean it's like there's this whole thing for weeks
00:54:05.920if not months has been kind of this schrodinger's cat situation where it's like we don't really know
00:54:09.980what's happening and nothing really seems to make any sense so i i think it's almost like a permanent
00:54:15.980fog of war situation for now and we're just going to have to see what actually happens i think that's
00:54:20.540the only way i can judge it is to see do we keep dropping bombs do they keep dropping bombs do they
00:54:25.100keep firing missiles and you know where do we go from here but my hope is that we can just get out
00:54:30.680of there. I just don't think we should be there anymore. And we probably will be for a while
00:54:35.700because I'm guessing even if we have a deal, it's contingent on certain things happening and we're
00:54:40.380going to stay there until we make sure they happen. So unfortunately, I'm probably going to
00:54:43.960be disappointed, but I'd like to turn those aircraft carriers around and just say mission
00:54:47.800accomplished. Yeah. And Holsey, I agree with you. So give Bibi asylum, okay? Give them asylum,
00:54:53.940let israel elect who they want and then let's take it from there okay because
00:55:00.880it this is like it's kind of obvious what's happening and and again like i don't have fear
00:55:08.140of like everybody attacking me who doesn't agree with me it's just so exhausting that if you
00:55:13.340comment on this as an american who not that i don't care about israel but i i care about america
00:55:20.960first. So, you know, as, as an American who cares about America first, I'm sick of it. And
00:55:27.560it was a mistake. I mean, we, we can't, you can't do a war like this if you're not both completely
00:55:35.140aligned. Like here's the strategy. This is what we want to happen. We go in, we get this done and
00:55:40.580we get out. Well, none of that is happening because now it's like, we're firing rockets
00:55:44.840over here. They're firing them over there. Now we want this territory. Now we want a piece of that.
00:55:49.180Well, that's not how it started. So, um, I don't know. I don't know what's going to happen. But, um, of course, as soon as I saw that there was a peace deal, I was like, no, there's not. And, um, I guess this to be determined, um, any, anything else on this topic, Owen or Marcella?
00:56:09.680well it's going to be signed um on friday with um vice president vance in geneva switzerland so
00:56:20.020between now and friday who knows what can what's in store for us but i think if anybody can make
00:56:27.700this happen it's donald trump you know if anybody can make a deal such as this where
00:56:34.000you can't believe it i can't believe it owen speechless you know we're all like maybe not
00:56:40.580maybe you can do it i think it's he's the man to do it um but i think in order for him to make a
00:56:49.440deal he's going to piss off his new best friends like the mark levin he doesn't care well i hope
00:56:58.540not because it i felt like he was treading a little bit because then they would get all up
00:57:03.160not after i think mark levin came out angry yesterday and so i don't know pretty soon we'll
00:57:09.240see a possible truth post saying calling him some kind of name i don't know oh my god i don't worry
00:57:16.920about that only because it's like i don't think someone like mark levin or the people who want
00:57:21.320you know iran just decimated they're never going to be happy no matter what happens because we're
00:57:25.960not going to we're not going to knock out their power plants and water and kill millions of people
00:57:29.720So they're just, they're going to have to be unhappy. And that's the way I would look at it
00:57:34.840if I was Trump is like, I can't really cater to what they want because they're never going to be
00:57:38.760satisfied. And what they want is genocide basically. And so, you know, I don't think
00:57:44.340that's a possibility. And so I think, you know, there are, there is going to be an element on
00:57:50.520the right that will be unhappy. The ones that want the war to continue and want the fighting
00:57:54.280to continue and want the death to continue and the spending and everything else. I mean,
00:57:59.020I'm sure some of this is tied into the whole military industrial complex idea as well.
00:58:02.960But I just think it's been long enough.
00:58:05.120I think we've made whatever progress we can make in terms of taking away some of their
00:58:08.900military capability and some of their nuclear weapons capability.
00:58:11.420And I think there's not much more to be gained there.
