00:03:26.060 Unparalleled pleasure, that dopamine hit of the day,
00:03:28.440 the thing that makes everything better except for mail-in voting.
00:03:33.860 It's called the simultaneous sip, and it happens now.
00:03:36.820 Go.
00:03:41.140 Oh, yeah.
00:03:43.280 Yep.
00:03:45.320 I don't think there's a dangling chad anywhere in the country after that sip.
00:03:50.840 It's all good now.
00:03:53.660 Aw.
00:03:54.700 I don't know.
00:03:55.500 that one hit hard for some reason. I just want to hug Scott. I don't know. Sometimes you just
00:04:00.300 get like, ugh. All right. So you guys, Joel, can you indulge me for a minute? Because I want to
00:04:06.540 just play a clip. We always start with a very important clip, Joel. So just hang in with me.
00:04:13.800 You guys, Trump was talking about something very important last night, which is men in women's
00:04:19.500 sports. And I could feel his passion about the topic and I want you guys to feel it too.
00:04:25.500 here it is. And the weightlifter stories are great. We had the weightlifters who was great.
00:04:31.740 And it's like 211 pounds. I mean, that's a lot of weight, 211 pounds. And she's getting it up.
00:04:37.400 And they put like an eighth of an ounce on one side, an eighth of an ounce on the other. She 1.00
00:04:41.800 wants to go for the record. And her parents is there. The father says she has no chance. He
00:04:46.500 understands. The mother is just, come on, darling, come on, Loretta. Loretta, come on, Loretta, 0.91
00:04:52.280 you can do it. You can do it, darling. And she gets it up. I love you, darling. You can do it.
00:05:00.180 And Loretta, oh, my wife hates this. She said it's so damn unpresidential, but it's sort of
00:05:07.460 cool. Should I finish it or not? Thank you. So she's up and she's going for that final push.
00:05:16.460 she's going to do it. She's close. Oh, no. Mom, I can't do it. Drops down. And then the guy comes
00:05:24.900 up, a gentleman who transitioned to womanhood. See, I say it right now. I have all the right
00:05:29.420 expressions. He transitioned to womanhood. And he looks down. He was a failed man weightlifter.
00:05:36.920 He did it. He realized he couldn't compete. But now he's out there on the stage. It's 211 pounds.
00:05:44.020 they put the little extra weight. Bing, bing, bing. I think he won by 111 pounds or something.
00:05:54.520 He was able to lift about 100 more pounds over his head. Or the race that took place not so long ago,
00:06:01.020 very long distance race. You had the best women runners and the best men runners in the world.
00:06:06.300 And the man won by six hours, 14 minutes and 12 seconds.
00:06:11.820 That's a lot.
00:06:13.300 Six hours is unacceptable.
00:06:16.640 So I tell the women, look, if you keep going, you know, throughout, if you look at what goes on with the world,
00:06:22.960 in a million years from now, you may be able to catch those numbers, but they'll also progress. 1.00
00:06:28.120 You have to realize it is so demeaning to women. 1.00
00:06:32.300 So demeaning, so reputable. 1.00
00:06:37.020 So regretful.
00:06:40.840 But I only talk about it.
00:06:43.360 In fact, I'm talking about it much too early because I usually save it for the final week of an election because I really don't want them to change. 1.00
00:06:50.640 Because if they have the transgender mutilization of your children as a big, important thing. 1.00
00:06:58.780 Well, I would like to say it's really demeaning to the men that are doing this. 1.00
00:07:05.140 and not demeaning, but it's like they're demeaning themselves in a way. I don't know. Am I making
00:07:11.020 sense with that? Because he said he's a failed man weightlifter. I can't even make these thoughts
00:07:18.340 in my head. They're so stupid, but he's a failed man weightlifter, which is hysterical. And it's 1.00
00:07:23.600 true. And I just love how he gets his moans and groans in and he's got the animation going. And
00:07:30.620 Oh, my God. I love when he's like this. I love it. Did you see it, Joel?
00:07:36.460 I didn't see that part of the speech. I was busy monitoring the L.A. mayor's debate.
00:07:42.440 But, you know, Trump is such a great entertainer. There's no other world leader who could tell jokes like that, politically incorrect jokes in the way he does.
00:07:52.500 And no matter what you think of his policies, no matter how Republicans or Democrats do in the midterms, we're going to miss him.
00:07:58.680 We're going to miss this. And I think on the Democratic side and in the media, people are so invested in getting outraged by this kind of thing that they just don't take time to enjoy it.
00:08:07.900 I mean, it's also interesting that the people who transition from one gender to another and then want to compete in a sport in their new gender role never move into a more difficult sport.
00:08:22.920 you never see men transitioning to become women to compete in distance swimming, for example.
00:08:29.820 I mean, female distance swimmers set the first records, the first women to swim these incredibly
00:08:35.700 long distances. I think whether it was crossing the English Channel or these various other swims,
00:08:39.800 they're all women because women are biologically better distance swimmers. They have more body fat 1.00
00:08:46.220 naturally. And so if you're a strong woman with a lot of endurance and you can handle the cold water,
00:08:51.220 you're going to set records the men follow in the wake of these female swimmers but you never see
00:08:56.460 people who transition trying to become distant swimmers it's always things that are easier for
00:09:02.660 a male physique like weight or whatever i mean marcella scott would have had a field day with
00:09:07.940 this one i just know that he loved when he would do his impersonations up there and like act stuff
00:09:14.300 out and oh my gosh i could just like hear him laughing what what do you think i could hear
00:09:19.220 melania going like oh no don't do that in front of them you know so he's just a comedian i like
00:09:26.160 that you know and and he has stood up for women so many times over they say sexes they say this
00:09:33.880 they say that but he's always um stood up for women's rights i think he employed uh back in
00:09:42.760 day when it wasn't you know people weren't employing uh women as uh as executives he had
00:09:52.280 the most women executives his daughter in his daughters he's always supported them and everything
00:09:58.760 they do um yeah look how many wives he's had he loves and he supported every wife you know right
00:10:06.440 and remain friends with them what i think is like the good medium is like maybe have
00:10:12.760 the transition people compete against each other because they have a different set of things you
00:10:20.120 know maybe that would be a good if you transition you're not playing a sport against other people
00:10:27.160 like you could play intramural stuff i guess but no you're still gonna hurt people so yes
00:10:31.960 stop it, people. That's enough. Can I just make one point about this? I don't think Trump has a
00:10:38.380 problem with people who transition. And also, I know some people who are transgender, like
00:10:45.060 Caitlyn Jenner, for example, who is pro-Constitution, pro-Second Amendment, pro-Trump. And the
00:10:52.000 question of sports is not something that has to dominate everything else they do, 0.97
00:10:57.600 nor does their gender have to dominate everything else they do. I think the problem on the left is 0.82
00:11:03.600 that they look for points of confrontation. They look for fights. Yes. And they want to cast
00:11:09.540 themselves as the heroes for the underdog. So they look for fights. That's how we've ended up in this
00:11:14.660 absurd rabbit hole where we're chasing an issue that affects 0.01% of the population. And even
00:11:22.680 of that subgroup it's 0.0001 who are athletes and you know it's become this obsession with
00:11:30.520 democrats they have to continually recreate the civil rights movement ironically of course because
00:11:34.760 the civil rights movement was fought against democrats in the south but that's become their
00:11:41.800 rallying cry they have to be the party that stands up to oppression of whatever sort and that's
00:11:47.660 something they have built into their identity and so here we are with this ridiculous debate and i
00:11:52.660 do think voters are tired of it it's tiring yeah it's just let's let's move on but they can't let
00:11:58.760 go and they haven't learned i mean they haven't really changed since the last election no they're
00:12:03.040 doubling down and now putting like really radical people in um so you know it is interesting and
00:12:09.420 and you're right it's like i don't think anyone really cares if anybody transit i don't care if
00:12:14.440 somebody transitions if they're of age um like the the young kids that are doing it the parents
00:12:22.020 that are a knee-jerk reaction. I mean, God, didn't most girls go through like a tomboy phase? 1.00
00:12:27.600 Imagine you're just having a phase because you want to be like your brother or something, or 1.00
00:12:32.040 you like dirt and you want to play outside. And then it's like, oh, well, you might be a boy.
00:12:37.520 And then some little kids like, oh, really? I mean, it's kind of wacky. So yeah, I'm all for
00:12:44.340 you have to be an adult. I think your frontal lobe has to be developed. I would say to be 25.
00:12:49.180 life. If your parents are paying for your life, it should be a no. You should have to just be on
00:12:57.140 your own, have therapy, but the therapists are all wacky now too, as I keep saying. So forget it,
00:13:03.080 just whatever, do your thing and just use the right bathroom. Okay. So that's great advice,
00:13:09.080 wasn't it? Joel, how was the mayoral debate last night? Who is winning?
00:13:14.860 Well, if you read my piece at the California Post, what I point out is that the moderators
00:13:20.780 were unfair. And they were unfair to the socialists. They were unfair to Nithya Raman.
00:13:27.880 Nithya Raman got a really hard time from the moderators. They grilled her. They asked her 0.58
00:13:31.940 tough questions. They asked her follow-up questions. But it was still useful because
00:13:35.700 her answers were terrible. And for example, they asked her about her recent video where she appeared
00:13:41.880 to call the police fascists. And she said, no, I was just calling ICE fascist. And then they said,
00:13:47.680 yeah, but how did you hire this influencer that has a terrible history? Did you guys not vet this
00:13:53.500 person? She had no answer. Then they asked her about Measure ULA, which is this quote-unquote
00:13:58.180 mansion tax that voters passed in 2022. It's supposed to tax high-end luxury homes, but it
00:14:04.580 ends up taxing all real estate above a certain value. And so nobody's building apartments anymore
00:14:10.240 in LA. It has slowed down dramatically. So as a result of taxing rich people for their rich homes,
00:14:15.880 now people on the lower end of the scale can't get homes. And so housing is more scarce because
00:14:20.920 of this tax. And so they said, you want to reform the tax, but you voted for the tax. And she said,
00:14:26.300 well, I follow the data. Originally, the data said the tax was going to be good. And now the data say
00:14:31.080 the tax is bad. But that's just garbage. I mean, you can go back to 2022 and look at the arguments 0.99
00:14:36.640 people were making. People predicted this was going to happen. So she answered poorly, but they
00:14:41.880 really grilled her. They did not give Karen Bass as hard a time, although they did ask her the
00:14:46.740 major hard questions about her failures on the Palisades fire, which, you know, affected my
00:14:51.120 neighborhood and about some of her other shortcomings. Both candidates looked terrible.
00:14:57.040 Karen Bass said, Raman is not ready for prime time. Raman said, are you better off than you
00:15:02.580 were four years ago, quoting Ronald Reagan. And a lot of people in LA would say, well,
00:15:06.000 I might personally be better off, but the city feels worse off.
00:15:08.900 So they both made good arguments against each other.
00:15:12.720 And that leaves voters wondering, what do we do?
00:15:16.400 Do we even show up to vote?
00:15:17.940 I do think it matters.
00:15:19.420 I think that Raman brings all of the bad policies of Karen Bass because she did not disagree
00:15:24.380 with Bass on any area of policy, and she still doesn't really.
00:15:27.280 I think Raman brings all of that, plus the socialism, the bigotry, the words thrown around
00:15:34.120 fascism and genocide. And she represents the people who created the riots in LA in 2020 and
00:15:40.180 who tried to create riots in 2025. So I'm going to vote for Karen Bass. I can't believe I'm saying
00:15:45.860 that because she allowed my neighborhood to burn essentially. But Ramon's people want to block me
00:15:52.320 from going to my house of worship. They want to throw stones and shoot fireworks at police. And
00:15:57.860 she calls that peaceful protest. I just don't need that extra level of crazy. So I'm voting
00:16:02.660 oh my gosh this is crazy so marcella do you vote in this same election are you part of this whole
00:16:11.380 thing um no i i won't vote for anyone if i had to vote i would write in spencer pratt
00:16:20.740 which we're doing um you know i i don't want to vote between stalin and mao you know like i just
00:16:28.580 won't want to do that but i understand joel's um what he's saying nithya ramen is just worse than
00:16:38.340 karen bass yeah but karen bass is like trying to get there like like i think she's trying to be
00:16:46.020 cool and trying to kind of defeat nithyan ramen by becoming a little more like hey i was in cuba
00:16:53.060 you know i'm with you i'm a comrade but like yeah so wow i think it's already been decided
00:17:00.500 the care that they want to keep karen bass that's my perspective although the polls show which how
00:17:07.180 busy can polls be the la times ran a poll and it shows uh it shows nitya ramen up a bit yeah you
00:17:16.180 know i think in a bad situation people will vote for the challenger no matter how bad the challenger
00:17:21.280 is. And you also have a situation in LA where there's a hard core of socialists. They might
00:17:27.740 represent, let's say, one out of every six voters, okay? But if they are organized and they turn out
00:17:34.620 the vote, they can win because most other people just don't get involved. And that's the case in
00:17:42.000 election after election in LA. Voters who have a very, very concentrated interest in a particular
00:17:49.240 outcome often win. That's why you see crazy taxes getting passed. That's why Raman survived the
00:17:55.500 primary, even though Spencer Pratt looked like he was going to finish second or maybe even first.
00:18:00.540 The socialists are well-organized. They are super inspired by Zoran Mamdani.
00:18:04.940 I can't stand Zoran Mamdani's policies. I think he is also a creep. I think he is a rabble rouser.
00:18:11.600 I don't like the way he came to power by leading protests in the streets against Israel and using
00:18:18.380 genocide and throwing around anti-Semitic stuff. And I think he's just terrible. I think he's the
00:18:24.180 worst thing that happened in New York City since losing the Brooklyn Dodgers. But I think also
00:18:30.600 Scott would look at it and say, well, I don't agree with the substance of what he's saying,
00:18:34.600 but let's look at the persuasion tactics he's using. And Mamdani has been very, very good at
00:18:39.980 that. He has a gift. He has a talent for doing that. It's not good for governing the city,
00:18:44.860 but it's good for convincing a bunch of people who want to be convinced that he's doing a good
00:18:49.720 job. I mean, to take an example, he did a video where they showed all of these trash cans that
00:18:56.440 the city had installed and all of his little followers and some of the bots that he pays for
00:19:01.820 with city money were saying, oh, what a great job our mayor's doing. He's cleaning up the city.
00:19:06.240 And then up pops former mayor Eric Adams and says, those are mine. I put those in place.
00:19:11.320 I did that. But most of Mamdani's followers don't see that part. They just see that he's
00:19:16.560 cleaning up the city. So they think he's doing a wonderful job. And that has spread throughout
00:19:21.540 the country. That's why there are all these wannabe Mamdani's. And that's why there's no 1.00
00:19:24.740 pushback. If you ask people whether they agree with what he stands for, even a lot of the people
00:19:29.720 who are going to vote for socialists probably wouldn't agree if you had to actually ask them
00:19:33.320 and challenge some of their views. But they're going with the momentum. They're going with this.
00:19:36.920 And that's why the country is in trouble, not just Republicans, but the country is in trouble
00:19:41.160 because the Democratic Party is basically disappearing
00:19:44.160 and these people are taking over.
00:19:46.260 And, you know, you have a few more moderate Democrats
00:19:48.640 in certain places, but not many.

00:20:20.080 Yeah, I mean, the rise of El Syed and even, forget Islam, I mean, what's the guy's name?
00:20:29.900 Talarico in Texas. Although there was one poll today that had Paxton up, which is nice.
00:20:38.920 But yeah, it's like the Democrat party. That's what I say. If you're still voting for a Democrat
00:20:43.660 and you were the same Bill Clinton voting Democrat, then you have had to contort yourself
00:20:50.260 into a whole new person to go along with what's happening now. So I feel like people don't even
00:20:56.700 realize that they've just completely changed all the fundamental things that they always agreed on
00:21:02.700 to to keep going along yeah and here's the thing what we're seeing in la might also be happening
00:21:08.760 nationwide which is that people are not happy with the current situation now you can explain
00:21:13.500 to people that the economy has almost never been better we have record low levels of layoffs low
00:21:19.400 unemployment high economic growth ai is making workers super productive it's not actually costing
00:21:26.440 people jobs. If you look at the data, AI is making workers much more productive. And so people are
00:21:31.220 earning more. And we could be seeing the beginning of a golden age, as Scott said, in terms of the
00:21:36.600 economy. But there are a couple of things like high gas prices, which are partly the result of
00:21:42.760 the war in Iran, which was a choice Trump made. I think it was the right choice in the end, at least 1.00
00:21:46.580 to stick with the war. Remember in the beginning, I thought maybe diplomacy could have a chance. But 0.97
00:21:50.320 once you're in this war, you've got to win it. Iran had some weapons at its disposal. Trump
00:21:54.500 overestimated Iran's willingness to do a deal, or maybe he wanted to avoid a costlier war. So he
00:22:00.140 kept giving them chances and they just failed. But the other thing is the high interest rates.
00:22:05.480 And that's not Trump's fault. Trump has tried to get the Fed to lower interest rates. The high
00:22:09.560 interest rates are partly an overhang from the Biden era, but they're also the result of years
00:22:14.940 and years of deficit spending. And that has been particularly bad under Obama and Biden,
00:22:21.020 but it didn't exactly slow down in the first Trump term. Now we had the pandemic to deal
00:22:25.380 with and everything, but we are now in a new world where these interest rates are going to
00:22:29.680 be high and there might not be anything we can do to lower them. And I don't know what you're
00:22:33.060 experiencing. I'm certainly experiencing it. The high interest rates mean that there's sand in the
00:22:37.580 gears of everything. So when you are trying to fix your home as I am in Palisades, or you're trying
00:22:44.560 to pay for your kids to go to school or whatever it is suddenly it's just harder to pull the cash
00:22:51.320 together to do certain things plus you're paying more when you fill up your car for gas now some
00:22:55.900 things have actually gone down in price i mean my grocery bill is still pretty low again i shop at
00:23:00.220 trader joe's which is cheaper than some of the other places but you know a lot of people are
00:23:05.200 suddenly running into brick walls i've heard over and over again from people who said you know what
00:23:09.580 i had to sell my house because i had an adjustable rate mortgage and the rate went up so now
00:23:14.540 I have to sell and it's better for me to rent. Or people who say, you know, I just bought this
00:23:18.900 house, but my business is suddenly collapsing because people are being very nervous about the
00:23:24.020 economy. So I might have to get a second job. You know, it's just happening everywhere. I'm
00:23:28.960 just hearing anecdotally, a lot of people are encountering that. So on paper, the numbers are
00:23:32.720 great. People are super productive. But the kind of things we're doing every day are just getting
00:23:37.040 harder. That's not Trump's fault. Trump is making things easier. Prescription drug prices have come
00:23:42.340 way down for the first time in forever, decades. Trump lowered the prescription drug prices. That's
00:23:48.660 something people used to complain about all the time. Bernie Sanders still complains about it,
00:23:51.640 but hello, they're cheaper. Trump made them cheaper. So Trump is doing a lot of things that
00:23:55.560 are working. And I think his stance on AI, this is my personal opinion, over time, it's going to
00:24:00.120 be the right one. I think this is a tool that we can use to make ourselves more productive,
00:24:03.720 but people are just running into brick walls. So they might go for these socialists,
00:24:09.640 regardless of how crazy they are because people just are feeling a sense of frustration and they
00:24:14.860 want something to change i don't know how the midterms are going to go i do think that there
00:24:19.740 are two truths in american politics number one democrats never govern except by accident so when
00:24:25.860 they get into office they never do things right unless it's totally by accident i think obama's
00:24:30.800 policies on the economy were terrible for example but the fed did quantitative easing and that
00:24:35.580 easing that allowed wall street to recover so there was like a mild recovery even though he
00:24:39.280 was spending like crazy and he wanted to raise taxes and adding regulations so he kind of governed
00:24:43.680 well by accident not great but and then the other truth is that republicans never win except by
00:24:49.180 surprise if you think of every republican victory trump winning republicans taking the senate in 2014
00:24:54.740 almost every republican victory happens when people don't expect it so i don't know what's
00:25:02.140 happening i don't think the polls can be trusted i don't think we know in an age of book by mail
00:25:06.360 what's really going to happen. But we'll have to wait and see. I do think that you'd have to think
00:25:10.340 the Democrats are in a better position, but they have crazy candidates. I mean, you mentioned
00:25:13.760 I mean, he's he's not Texas. He might win, but he's definitely not Texas. I mean, it's shocking
00:25:20.940 to me, Marcella, that I don't know. I do. Do you see what I see, Marcella? Like the Democrats that
00:25:27.020 you know, like who they were 10 years ago to now, the people that you know that are Democrats,
00:25:33.340 like have they completely turned into more radical or um i don't know unruly people because
00:25:41.020 something has to shift in you right no i i don't think they have i mean some of them were radical
00:25:48.700 to begin with that i know but the majority still thinks that it's the same democratic party as
00:25:55.660 jfk so it's not that they think that it's just that they stayed there supporting their team
00:26:02.060 That's one thing about the Democrats is they're very supportive of whatever it says Democrat, they'll vote for it. 0.97
00:26:09.940 Like, no wonder if like, oh, yeah, by the way, if you vote for me, I will kill you tomorrow.
00:26:15.340 They'll be like, OK, voting for Democrat. 0.98
00:26:17.640 You know, that's how it is.
00:26:19.100 They stick together.
00:26:20.540 Republicans have more of like an individualistic mind, I think.
00:26:25.280 And they tend to be like, well, this candidate, I might go this way or I might stay home and not vote.
00:26:30.940 that's one thing about the democracy stick together i'm noticing something different like
00:26:36.140 i'm noticing that my uh democrat friends are now saying things that i'm like shook that these
00:26:43.160 things are coming out of their mouths you know like that they're like oh no well you know i mean
00:26:47.780 i guess you know eight month abortion i mean you know and i'm like who are you like you would have
00:26:53.420 never agreed or said about any i mean anything any of these things that the democrats are doing now
00:26:59.000 I cannot even believe some of my friends are aligning themselves with it because they never
00:27:04.620 would have five, 10 years ago. And I think it is a Trump effect because they've been brainwashed
00:27:09.780 that Trump is Satan. So they're just like, oh, well, he's Satan. And so that means everyone 0.98
00:27:15.040 else isn't. That's what my experience is. I would just say, I'm going to bring a Scott frame into
00:27:22.060 it. Scott often said that adults have trade-offs, adults have choices. So if you're just telling me
00:27:28.040 one side of a situation. You're giving me a half pinion. So for example, Senator Chris Murphy went
00:27:35.460 to the Middle East and he bashed America the entire time. You know, this is Trump's war gone
00:27:40.180 wrong. You know, Iranians fired missiles at some Arab country and he blamed Trump for that. I'm
00:27:45.660 like, how do you not even mention Iran in your post about this thing? And he's like, well, we
00:27:50.560 have to leave the Middle East. And I said, okay, that's a half pinion because we're in this
00:27:55.440 situation. So what's the consequence of us doing what you say? What are you going to do when they
00:28:01.800 can choke off shipping and they can do all that? He doesn't have a plan. I mean, if you have these
00:28:05.800 criticisms, you can have the criticisms, but have an alternative. That's how adults think. Adults
00:28:09.680 think in terms of trade-offs. I mean, that's a problem we have in LA with Karen Bass and Nitya
00:28:13.860 Raman. There's no write-in vote because of our stupid jungle primary system. Oh, you can't write 0.99
00:28:18.740 in? No, you can't write in in the general election. So you've got to choose one of these two people.
00:28:22.960 okay so i don't like either of them okay so i could vote for neither of them but i'm getting
00:28:29.000 one of them whether i like it or not so you've got to choose one or the other and you can't know
00:28:34.980 whether one's going to be worse i mean my joke headline for my piece about the debate was going
00:28:39.200 to be what's better bad or worse um another headline i had was uh karen bass does worst
00:28:47.800 Nithya Raman does worse to worse.
00:28:51.900 But that's, we have trade-offs
00:28:54.540 and sometimes they're terrible.
00:28:56.580 So that's what adults know.
00:28:58.340 And I think Republicans are the adult party.
00:29:00.340 Basically, Republicans are the party 0.53
00:29:02.060 that has paid taxes for a while,
00:29:04.280 has had to raise kids, face difficult choices,
00:29:06.800 maybe gone through a divorce or two.
00:29:08.220 You know, you've been around the block
00:29:09.360 and you understand that things have consequences.
00:29:11.700 Whereas Democrats like to think about
00:29:13.340 a consequence-free world, an incentive-free world.
00:29:16.540 I can have everything I want. I can just have the United States leave the Middle East and
00:29:21.760 everything will be OK. And all my gas prices will go back to normal. Or I can have all the green 0.91
00:29:26.760 energy I want and I can still turn on the lights in my house. You know, there's just no sense of
00:29:33.920 tradeoffs. And I think that that's why you see so many Democrat run cities failing. Interesting
00:29:39.760 thing just today, there's some inflation data that looks bad because there's been this spike
00:29:43.900 inflation, mostly because of gas prices. That's happening to the whole country. But it's much
00:29:48.440 worse in Democrat-run areas than it is in Republican areas. And that's because Democrats
00:29:52.260 find every possible thing to spend money on, every tax, every green energy mandate. And so they make
00:29:59.340 life more expensive for themselves. So they're tearing their hair out about inflation, whereas
00:30:03.240 Republicans are saying, you know, we can keep taxes low, we can do this and that, we can manage,
00:30:07.320 we can adjust like adults. And so Republicans are actually experiencing lower inflation than
00:30:12.420 Democrats are. It's a crisis because Democrats are more prominent in the media. So, you know,
00:30:16.860 we all think it's much worse than it is, but actually there is a difference. And again,
00:30:20.700 that's because Democrats want everything. And here in LA and in California, especially they
00:30:24.160 want to tax everything. Republicans understand there are trade-offs and that's why Republican
00:30:28.660 run places generally work better, not perfectly, but better. Better. Yeah. Yeah. I like, I have so
00:30:36.360 much to say about everything, but Joel, I know you're limited on time and I definitely want to
00:30:40.140 talk about the book before you go and there's a rumor that the pre-order link is coming soon
00:30:46.820 so what can you tell us well we're just finalizing the cover and soon we'll have that cover and we'll
00:30:53.160 have the pre-order link ready and it's just super exciting the biography is done and we are really
00:31:01.000 counting on everyone to go and get it once the link is up and please buy several copies it's
00:31:07.020 going to be out in time for Thanksgiving and the Christmas shopping. And we want you to enjoy it,
00:31:11.980 but also share what Scott is about. I mean, the book is about his life, but it also has so many
00:31:18.080 other things he taught. It covers his books, his Coffee with Scott Adams, this show and the lessons
00:31:24.000 and some of the micro lessons. And it's just, I think, a great resource. So it's something you're
00:31:29.200 going to want to share with other people. So please, let's make this a success. It will bring
00:31:32.780 Scott back into the public imagination in a huge way if this book is successful. And I think it
00:31:38.880 will be something that we all enjoy for a long time. So look for that information, but thanks
00:31:42.620 again for this opportunity. And I'll be back to talk about it and to give you a little tidbits
00:31:47.080 about what's in it. We can't wait, Joel. I'm so glad you could come on today. And oh, I hear myself
00:31:54.320 sounding very strange. So let me know when that link is ready because we are going to market the
00:32:00.380 heck out of it. We're so excited for everybody. A lot of people met Scott later in the game. And
00:32:07.220 a lot of people I see in the chat, they're like, oh, I just found Scott when he announced that he
00:32:11.600 was sick. Maybe that's how they saw him. And so they get to like hear so much about this man's
00:32:19.240 life. And I will say, fortunately, a lot of the beloveds got a lot more information because we
00:32:25.120 did all those man caves and pre-shows and post-shows and just late nights and hanging out
00:32:29.340 with scott but there are going to be things in there that you have no idea about and never heard
00:32:34.480 about and i think you're going to be just i don't know you're just going to be like gripping that
00:32:39.380 book and just i don't know sinking into your simultaneous swaddle blanket with your mug and
00:32:45.760 just absorbing everything scott adams that you can and it's going to be glorious glorious joel
00:32:52.140 so let us know when the pre-order link is ready we can't wait to fire it out there thanks so much
00:32:57.780 guys. Thanks, Joel. We love you. Talk to you soon. Bye. We love Joel. Okay. Let me remove him.
00:33:06.760 Ta-da. So you guys, it's going to be so exciting. I cannot wait to get my hands on that book. 0.99
00:33:15.240 Marcella, are you excited? I don't know. Part of me is sad.
00:33:21.080 Well, yeah, but it's exciting to get a book that Scott approved and asked for and to have
00:33:30.220 all that research done. I'm excited. I'm excited. I'm sad every day, obviously, on a lot of levels,
00:33:39.600 but I'm excited to get this tangible, this thing in my hands. I can't wait. Control your hands,
00:33:46.000 It's chunky. Okay. So you guys, all right. This was probably the best laugh I had yesterday.
00:33:52.900 And now that Joel's gone, I have to play this. Okay. And I know a ton of you already saw this.
00:34:00.800 Okay. And I was like, darn, I wanted to get to it before it went viral. But if you didn't see it, 0.61
00:34:07.340 you're going to crack up. I promise you there's nothing neurologically wrong with this person.
00:34:12.360 Okay. She might be drunk, but this is Jamie West. She's a Democrat in Fayetteville, Indiana.
00:34:21.620 She's running for a city council. Have you seen this, Marcella?
00:34:26.640 Well, you're in for a treat. I'm highly obsessed with this woman and I feel like she's going to
00:34:34.120 end up on SNL as a character, but listen to her. This is like, I don't know. It's not even a debate.
00:34:40.080 this is like her one-on-one interview uh running okay ready this is amazing here we go
00:34:46.960 and that's what i have to say about that okay and our last question of the night is if elected what
00:34:53.200 is one decision that you expect to make that may be unpopular with some voters but you believe
00:34:59.360 ultimately would be in the best interest of fayette county i wouldn't raise your taxes
00:35:05.520 Um, what is the one decision that I would make, hmm, repeat that again.
00:35:15.360 What is the one decision that I would make that might not be popular with Fayette County?
00:35:18.360 Right, that may be unpopular with some voters, but is in the best interest of the county.
00:35:23.760 Mmm.

00:35:57.160 Firing all Republicans.
00:35:59.180 I wouldn't let them. 0.58
00:36:00.200 I mean, I don't even talk to them. I don't like them. I mean, they voted against our own state
00:36:08.260 representative voted against her own party. I mean, what do you want me to say? I don't like
00:36:17.300 being around them. I mean, y'all did this to us. You all voted for us. You made this happen,
00:36:24.260 this ice coming into our communities stealing people's jobs I mean I've been
00:36:34.400 threatened so many times to my face by MAGA we'll call them because there's
00:36:41.880 Republicans who actually get it you know there there are good Republicans out
00:36:49.780 there. But then there's these MAGA's who are just racist and aren't very
00:36:57.160 intelligent at all. They call you names. My sheriff's nephew threatened to 0.98
00:37:04.280 blow my head off. But, you know, what are you gonna do? Well, that brings us to your
00:37:10.560 opportunity to say just a few last words to to the voters.
00:37:17.380 we have guns too all right well as a reminder the general election is
00:37:25.000 November 3rd early voting began October 6th you can vote Monday through Friday

00:37:36.220 the courthouse with you when voting and acceptable government issued ID we'll be
00:37:41.800 back this and the ah
00:37:48.680 i want to put her on the show i mean dude obsessed is that amazing all right you guys you have she's 0.89
00:38:01.320 hilarious give us a like because that was amazing she's gotta be doing this as a prank like there's 0.89
00:38:06.900 no way I don't think she sounds like she's uh she's going for SNL oh my god she was so
00:38:15.420 I mean they're like she's like ice taking all our jobs I'm like oh my god really ice is taking
00:38:24.980 your jobs that can we deport her holy god I mean so people are like she should be Kamala's running
00:38:33.740 me you know and i'm like and then greg i think did the clip last day i think he said that you 1.00
00:38:39.540 know she should be the president and kamala should be the vp because she made more no word salad 1.00
00:38:44.620 there though she was like right rid of the she was pretty much like she knew what she wanted 1.00
00:38:49.640 she's the alpha yeah so kamala went oh my god you got you like my impression right 1.00
00:38:54.540 oh i could just feel her energy which when she goes ah and then she goes we have guns too 0.98
00:39:03.200 all right lady simmer down now so that was amazing i could not wait to play that today
00:39:13.400 i i'll never let that clip go she won't raise your taxes so she's not a dsa member so right
00:39:20.900 uh yeah she said some other stuff in other oh god she's amazing jamie west jamie west good luck
00:39:28.960 um indiana you said fayette fayette indiana city council she have no one opposing her because the
00:39:36.080 other chair was empty yeah i don't know so jamie we we since we sincerely hope you get in you sound
00:39:42.920 like someone who's passionate about where you live and i'm not even kidding you're you're passionate
00:39:49.640 and um and you know what i like too jamie is that you can see the difference between like the racist
00:39:56.360 MAGA, and then the Republicans. So good for you for knowing the difference. Good for you.
00:40:01.180 Good luck. Good luck in your election. She's amazing. Oh, here it comes down.
00:40:05.000 Good for you.
00:40:07.860 So, okay. So then, Marcella, because we're just jumping around a little bit. I don't know.
00:40:14.040 You know, Joel hit on, you know, having more extreme candidates. So then I was like,
00:40:21.140 oh wait till i get to play jamie west and he also said i wish jamie was running in la i would vote
00:40:27.220 for her better than the two if only you could write her in yeah um because i can't even write
00:40:35.140 anybody in i didn't know you couldn't write in there that's crazy well physically i'm gonna
00:40:40.580 write it in uh i might not count it but oh i'm mailing back the ballot but i do like what joel
00:40:47.700 said, like I'm getting one of the two of them. So I might as well vote for one of them. Um,
00:40:54.100 true. It's true. So the other thing he mentioned was AI feeling like, you know, AI is going to end
00:41:01.340 up being like the good thing. I am still skeptical about what's going to happen with AI down the
00:41:07.120 road, but, um, you know, we played clips of Brett Weinstein before, but I want to play
00:41:12.800 this clip from his brother eric eric's uh uh like i don't know i i feel like i feel like
00:41:20.460 confuse them sometimes yeah yeah so brett is dark horse with heather as his wife and brett
00:41:27.260 and his wife were professors and they're the ones that you know got fired from their jobs 0.92
00:41:32.040 and then became podcasters and they're just oh jeez you guys suck um they got good memes today
00:41:40.400 already memeing me on locals yeah um so anyway they and then so brett is a podcaster but he's 0.52
00:41:48.960 had this evolution lately where he's like realized like i'm gonna come out and say they get along
00:41:54.240 did they talk to each other or no yes but i don't know very different lot very different lives and
00:42:00.560 eric is like super duper is eric married yes married kids yep brett's they're both married
00:42:07.760 yeah they're just the wife does not in the show i've never seen eric's wife i don't think but
00:42:14.880 so eric's super cerebral like you know like thinking so hard it's painful he's friends
00:42:21.440 with all the people like your peter teals and all those people he lives in california from what i
00:42:26.080 gathered from that show or yes yeah he lives in cali uh yeah he lives in cali um but let's listen
00:42:33.680 so this is just a short clip but eric does bring up stella has to watch it too stella's like i
00:42:39.120 need to know about ai okay so let's watch eric weinstein um and just a little something he says
00:42:46.960 about ai and then we'll talk about it we are summoning the demon do you have a subscription
00:42:52.880 to any of these ais yes okay so you're paying to have the demon summoned
00:42:57.760 i am paying to have the demon sum let us not sit around like our hands are clean i'm paying to have
00:43:07.720 my punctuation fixed to an essay or to make a photo that's what i'm paying for the money is
00:43:15.120 being used to summon the demon how do you think your lithium-ion battery is created
00:43:19.020 where do you think the oil comes out of the drives generators i mean let's be honest you
00:43:27.080 and I are sitting on a machine. Are you a vegetarian? No. Do you order lamb? Yeah. Do
00:43:34.080 you know what lamb is? Yeah. Do you know what it is? Okay. You're not clean. I'm not clean.
00:43:43.520 I'm not pretending to be clean. What bothers me here is that we're not having an authentic
00:43:47.840 conversation. Again, everybody's crazy. You and I are both having a crazy conversation. 0.98
00:43:53.680 My claim is you and I are complicit in a minor way
00:43:57.400 in the game in which Sam is complicit in a major way.
00:44:03.500 If you know that there's going to be a risk
00:44:04.900 when you speak to Sam, why don't you tell him to stop?
00:44:06.980 And have Dario win?
00:44:08.480 Dario can get pretty out there.
00:44:10.520 But if I said the same thing,
00:44:12.040 Dario, why don't you stop?
00:44:13.080 I'd say, you know, I'm not positive
00:44:14.660 that Sam is 100% trustworthy.
00:44:16.540 If you could stop both of them, would you?
00:44:19.060 And have Elon and Mark Zuckerberg win? 0.58
00:44:22.380 or china g if you could stop all of it would you stop all of it maybe
00:44:27.840 it is interesting so sam being sam altman who runs chat gpt um or open ai is that the same
00:44:39.860 thing i guess so so you know it is it is interesting because the way he frames it and
00:44:47.020 like i said he's just like this thinker thinker person like he's the kind of guy that like
00:44:51.100 you'd sit across from and like the eye contact locks in and like all of a sudden you're in this
00:44:55.600 like whole philosophical conversation for five hours. But are we summoning the demon, you know,
00:45:02.820 like by using AI and, and becoming, we are becoming somewhat dependent on it already. I mean,
00:45:09.600 if I have to do a project and I have a choice, like, am I getting out my encyclopedia? Am I
00:45:17.360 going to Google? Am I just going to go to websites or am I going right to Chester? I'm going right to
00:45:23.940 Chester because it's going to be done so fast and easy and everything else. And, you know, I don't
00:45:30.900 know, we've heard so many warnings, Marcella, from, you know, people like Elon that are just
00:45:38.200 like, you know, maybe we're going too fast and we don't know what we're going to get and we don't
00:45:43.040 really know how to slow the train and so if we keep we keep hearing that this is a race it's a
00:45:48.880 race it's a race it's a race whoever gets their first wins well what are we exactly winning i
00:45:53.420 would like to know um and are we complicit in well i can explain yeah please do so i i don't
00:46:02.780 i don't particularly i mean i like the darkness that he brought in you're summoning the demon but
00:46:08.780 i'm only doing a meme that was really like i don't know what he said but something about like
00:46:14.280 something his punctuation and grammar it just cracked me up because he was just like but i'm
00:46:18.580 only changing grammar um like he's really thinking past the he made him think past the sale right
00:46:25.700 there that's persuasion i just uh on a persuasion level eric is is top you know right there like
00:46:32.280 with Stephen Barlett being so you know like he's so used to very big names across from him and yet
00:46:42.020 he looked like a little boy saying oh my gosh I am you know like you could tell that he's like
00:46:47.540 I would have to mind read but I do that all the time anyways um what I would say no it's a tool
00:46:54.980 like a gun a gun is not a demon it's who uses it so basically ai like i was talking about yesterday 0.99
00:47:03.480 the hooties used it for you know creating a bigger weapon that reaches lots of people and can kill 0.67
00:47:10.440 people but you know and yesterday a 10 year old used it for their project so it all depends on
00:47:18.220 how you use it to me it's a tool what is what i think elon and i would have to really read elon
00:47:27.580 and someone like elon thinks and is scared of in the future is ai having a mind of its own
00:47:34.840 right like skynet like terminator where the idea is that no longer are humans controlling it
00:47:41.660 So therefore, if it controls itself, we've always, as humans in this planet, we've always been in control of, of everything, maybe not ourselves, but someone that is another human somewhere else.
00:47:56.200 And the issue would be, can then the computers and the robots and the, you know, the, the, the, the AI brain, can they then control us?
00:48:09.260 you know that's what eric's talking about yeah yeah so well eric is like kind of getting there
00:48:15.680 but he didn't say that he said that we're even us now we are summoning the demon i i don't really
00:48:22.260 necessarily think like as it is now we're summoning any kind of demon you know i don't think we're
00:48:29.500 there yet that's what i mean like you're not there yet to where it has a mind of its own it can
00:48:36.280 control and all that um i think it can be controlled by others um you know which is what's
00:48:43.260 happening i think uh they figured out um they used it for different things that for some reason all
00:48:50.780 of them are entropic like entropic figured out something about some other thing that was used
00:48:56.660 for um i have it as one of my stories i don't know where it is but anyways the the key part is
00:49:03.800 don't be afraid um it depends on each of us and you know i and i then i'm like the other side where
00:49:14.380 i'm cautiously optimistic about ai i i i'm not all the way there i do have concern only because
00:49:22.880 you know you hear things about anthropic like claude and like other things like
00:49:27.560 overriding each other and overriding the human and being like no wait forget it like he wants
00:49:32.860 us to solve problems this will solve a problem and like next thing you know the thing is like
00:49:36.940 banging down your door and like ready to kill you guess who's guess who's afraid of it guess
00:49:42.300 who's really afraid of it not you not me the government the government is really afraid of 0.88
00:49:48.940 super intelligence one of the questions that was asked in that interview um was that what if we
00:49:57.260 would had uh super intelligence or ai um back in the coveting would we have an x would have been
00:50:06.460 owned by elon i guess but if if we would have had the the ability to instead of going to the news
00:50:14.540 would have asked rock we could have asked a chat gpt which was in there it it does change the you
00:50:22.060 You know, it does change the power structure.
00:50:24.440 So they want to run it.
00:50:26.420 But they can't because it's a worldwide thing.
00:50:31.540 So even if here we are controlled or the UK, you look at Europe.
00:50:36.320 They're really controlled.
00:50:37.560 They can't do much.
00:50:38.860 There's no founders coming up with that many AI stuff from there.
00:50:46.820 There's so many different governments that they play against each other.
00:50:51.180 But you can technically take it outside of that place, kind of like Brian does, Romilly, or our very own Owen.
00:51:02.160 And you can do it without the system.
00:51:05.360 So that's kind of why they're afraid.
00:51:07.760 Because you can take it offline.
00:51:10.040 You, Erica, can take down the government.
00:51:12.840 Yeah.
00:51:13.200 That's what they're really afraid, I think.
00:51:16.300 And hacking and everything else.
00:51:17.880 Yeah.
00:51:18.540 Yeah.
00:51:18.760 it's yeah then who like you know some 15 year old's gonna hack into like russia you know it's 0.69
00:51:24.720 like war games right uh is china afraid of si that they're afraid of not getting there first 0.67
00:51:32.100 that's probably their thing um china is always in a race with us and they get to listen everybody's 0.88
00:51:40.400 lying cheating and stealing anymore so that's another thing that scares me everything's fake 0.99
00:51:45.680 and gay yeah everything is fake and gay and you just cannot trust anybody or anything including 0.99
00:51:51.120 your government and the government trust this either no yeah so it's it's uh it's wacky it's 0.98
00:51:57.600 a wacky time um that being said i do want to uh we have 10 minutes i do want to catch up um marcella
00:52:07.360 on the latest thing with iran and um what trump is saying and oh yeah yeah i mean the the straight
00:52:14.800 to Hormuz. It's all a wacky time, but let's get the latest from Trey Yanks. We love Trey. Here we
00:52:20.500 go. President Trump issued a new warning to Iran overnight during a rally in Alaska. The president
00:52:26.580 said we're going to do a number on Iran, but declined to go into detail about what that means.
00:52:31.720 He also spoke about the Strait of Hormuz and the ongoing U.S. naval blockade.
00:52:36.380 The straits have been opened. We've been taking more oil out of the straits now than we did before
00:52:41.500 the war started believe it or not we control the strikes that's why the oil stayed where it is
00:52:48.940 because i actually thought it would be higher but i said no matter what it is it's a small price to 0.94
00:52:53.120 pay for stopping them from having a nuclear weapon and those b2 bombers really did the job
00:53:00.440 reuters reports that iran is using new tactics to target vessels in the strait the irgc is
00:53:06.360 reportedly using unarmed spotters to increase the accuracy of their attacks.
00:53:10.760 In recent days, multiple vessels have been targeted while transiting this critical waterway.
00:53:15.300 In the past two weeks, 24 ships have been hit.
00:53:18.120 Three days ago, six of them in a single day.
00:53:20.460 Compare that with the beginning of the war the first two weeks of March,
00:53:23.540 when just 13 ships were attacked.
00:53:25.500 With tension rising across the region,
00:53:27.180 we're also tracking the latest developments in the conflict
00:53:29.260 between the Yemen-based Houthis and Saudi Arabia.
00:53:32.100 After coming under multiple missile attacks,
00:53:33.840 the Saudis launched new strikes against Houthi-controlled oil facilities. The Houthis
00:53:38.020 then launched fresh strikes on Aramco buildings in Saudi Arabia. I feel like this is going to 0.61
00:53:43.680 be turned into like a new board game, you know, like the Strait of Hormuz, and it's going to be
00:53:48.380 like, you sunk my cargo ship, you know. It's not your Houthis. It's just this like fast moving, 0.99
00:53:59.140 nothing's happening situation and i i'm positive they're just waiting for the midterms
00:54:05.160 i can't take sorry to say i can't take the houthis seriously with that name
00:54:11.280 they need a re they need an evil name rebrand them like houthis it's like the dark houthis 0.75
00:54:19.240 i don't know rebrand them i think um the the yemeni evildoers but you know how many times 0.98
00:54:28.560 as he said i'm gonna bomb them i'm gonna bomb them yeah here i'm waiting so if he bombs them 0.98
00:54:36.800 then the people who are really opposed to you know this ongoing situation that are voting are 0.97
00:54:45.060 gonna definitely not be happy so it's the worst possible timing it's like the worst situation we
00:54:52.800 are now we're this close to the midterms when this started we didn't feel that way but now
00:54:57.640 were this close. So my opinion is Iran's just going to hold out. They're not going to negotiate 0.98
00:55:04.300 any. And if they do, again, it's a lie. It'll be fake and gay. Trump really can't bomb the crap
00:55:10.980 out of them right now before people have to go vote if that's what he's worried about. We'll see 0.91
00:55:15.640 because he says he's not even thinking about the midterms, yet he's rallying everywhere for
00:55:19.960 everyone. It's bad. It's a bad situation. So I predict the bombing is going to start the night
00:55:26.560 of the midterms? It's possible. It's possible, but I do, like Joel's philosophy, somebody's
00:55:34.280 going to win and you cannot sit on your butt and be like, this sucks and I don't care and I'm not 0.99
00:55:41.280 voting. You have to go vote. If you can vote, you've got to go vote and you've got to vote 1.00
00:55:46.260 in person as early as you can. I know I'm saying, forget this war. If that's your issue,
00:55:53.120 forget about it right now because we have to move past the war in our country for our own selves.
00:56:00.380 So you have to go out there and vote and please, you know, vote for who you want, but vote for
00:56:05.400 someone who puts America first, our constitution first, the laws first. That's the most important
00:56:12.620 thing. Somebody that aligns with you and, you know, what you want for you and your family.
00:56:17.560 And I think if you do that and you're an American, you know, you'll probably vote Republican, I'm hoping.
00:56:25.640 So, Marcella, any parting words for people that are maybe wanting to sit out the vote?
00:56:31.500 And we do want to encourage them to vote early in person.
00:56:34.880 Well, I think that there's, at least in California, there's all these propositions.
00:56:39.520 And so I'm sure that in your state or wherever you are, there is laws that are wanting to pass
00:56:45.700 to take away your money. So always say no to them. Um, and, uh, I think it's important that you go
00:56:55.400 vote for, in order to register your, your, your opinion in regards to that. I think that most of
00:57:02.900 the time we can't change who really is the number one person. Cause a lot, there's a lot of cheating
00:57:07.680 out there, but in regards to the, which there could be cheating with the propositions or the
00:57:14.360 different laws that they're trying to pass, but Hey, don't make it easier on them. Yeah. Don't
00:57:20.440 make it easy. Make the cheating hard, make it hard for sure. And I do think a lot of Democrats
00:57:26.620 are just silently, um, standing by and we'll vote Republican because it's too, like the left's gone
00:57:34.720 too crazy to the left, uh, not even to the left off the cliff. So let's hope that, you know,
00:57:41.680 I just remember when Trump won his first, um, election and I was so proud of Americans for
00:57:49.220 being like, you know what, we're, we're going to run Trump. That was my first moment of pride.
00:57:54.280 Like they said no to all the politicians and all the people that just have like returned,
00:57:59.600 no results. And out of all those people, it was Trump that won. And then I was so proud that,
00:58:06.240 you know, he won the election because they could see through Hillary and we needed somebody that
00:58:11.780 was putting America first. So we have to keep that mindset that we need people that are going
00:58:17.480 to put American values first, um, that want to protect our country and our way of life. Cause
00:58:23.220 it's you know it's slipping slipping slipping um all right marcella i think we've we've done
00:58:30.260 enough marcella i'm just kidding but yeah there there is the big news that camilla is most likely
00:58:37.780 gonna run for the 2028 so god i am so happy i i think that the wall street journal was writing
00:58:48.180 about how she's laying the groundwork uh but she still denies it but then she comes out you'll see
00:58:55.220 her more and more and she comes out with she talks she talks about uh ai and how she we need to 0.59
00:59:03.680 control it and all that like when you know that kamala is talking ai you know she's running that's
00:59:12.300 just oh and she came out she just she posted on x2 this morning i think um saying that you know
00:59:19.680 gas prices are high and grocery prices are high and it's all because of you donald trump ah yes
00:59:27.280 well i'm gonna work on my kamala impersonation i want to get that down who else do i have to
00:59:33.880 impersonate who else is gonna run so is cory booker gonna run if he's debating for uh
00:59:42.300 senator again i don't know we'll see we'll see i think they all run but they they always have
00:59:48.040 a particular person in mind and i i don't know camela's trying to make the party heads agree
00:59:56.020 that it's going to be her but they're not convinced how would the big donors put up with that
01:00:02.460 i mean running her again anyway it's it'll be fun yeah democrats i sort of feel sorry for you guys
01:00:10.600 because you have absolutely no say in what happens with your party. But oh well, you're
01:00:15.880 sheep. Okay. So you guys, thank you so much for today. I hope you enjoyed Marcella and I and Joel 0.84
01:00:22.700 popping in. Thanks, Chris. So sweet. And Owen will be back with us tomorrow. Listen, impersonate
01:00:31.180 Newsome. I've got my Newsome going. I feel like I need wigs. I need props. I'm looking for props.
01:00:37.540 So, yes, I'll get a whiskey bottle for Kamala, the bad suit. 1.00
01:00:42.920 And she's always flapping her arms like a chicken and bobbing her head. 1.00
01:00:46.800 She's like, her eyes are like a little bit like, I can't see.
01:00:52.520 But she's always doing this.
01:00:54.000 And my family, we sat around the table and we laugh from the inside.
01:01:01.940 I'm like, oh, really?
01:01:03.340 Your family's not around?
01:01:04.460 Like that's so unique, Kamala, that you guys would laugh and sit around the table drinking coffee.
01:01:10.060 How amazing.
01:01:12.280 Oh, God.
01:01:13.040 The memes on Locals.
01:01:15.380 What is going on?
01:01:17.580 Marcel.
01:01:18.740 Oh, I love that hair.
01:01:21.000 We need it.
01:01:21.360 You guys, join Locals for the fun.
01:01:23.620 19 cents a day.
01:01:25.040 ScottAdams.Locals.com.
01:01:26.540 How do you do that?
01:01:29.460 The chat?
01:01:30.300 Yeah, we can share the chat.
01:01:31.620 They can scroll back.
01:01:33.180 All right.
01:01:33.760 So let's do it, you guys.
01:01:34.860 Let's say thank you to Scott and Shelly for allowing this show to continue, for the school
01:01:39.340 to go on.
01:01:40.620 And I had a clip of Scott I couldn't get to today, but we can do it tomorrow.
01:01:44.920 And it's going to help us with our own persuasion.
01:01:47.920 So that's going to be good.
01:01:48.980 We're going to need to persuade people to do things.
01:01:51.400 I can feel it.
01:01:52.860 So thank you to Scott and Shelly.
01:01:55.140 And let's have a closing sip to our most beloved Scott Adams.
01:02:01.200 To Scott.
01:02:02.500 To Scott.
01:02:03.760 all right if marcella can stay we can do a song can you stay marcella
01:02:09.800 i'll do a song i'll put it all on you otherwise okay let's do
01:02:14.640 demon fire let's do how to program reality here we go okay
01:02:19.420 oh i love this one oh what are you trying to do to me erica look at this
01:02:26.580 Let me show you my path
01:02:34.140 toward figuring out
01:02:36.980 the user interface
01:02:38.920 It's important that you know how I got there
01:02:41.960 so that you can have some trust
01:02:44.000 that there's something to it
01:02:46.100 When I was a kid
01:02:47.660 I was influenced as was my mother
01:02:49.400 by the book The Power of Positive Thinking
01:02:51.580 by Norman Vincent Peale
01:02:53.380 that suggested that you could somehow
01:02:55.740 change your life or maybe you are changing reality if you could simply
01:03:01.140 think positively think positively think positively think positively think
01:03:12.360 positively so this is my first introduction to the concept that maybe
01:03:19.100 reality was not fixed and something that you were a victim of but rather you
01:03:25.080 could do something. There was some mechanism, some technique, some tools you could use to
01:03:31.380 give some control over your environment and your life as opposed to having to control
01:03:37.680 you.
01:03:40.620 Rob.
01:03:42.860 And that was my first thought that reality could be programmable in at least some simple
01:03:48.880 sense but of course i embarked on a lifetime of exploration to find out if i could find out more
01:03:57.120 about how to program reality think positively think positively think positively how to program
01:04:06.320 reality think positively think positively think positively to learn meditation i became a trained
01:04:15.600 hypnotist of course mushrooms let you see the world in a completely different reality and all
01:04:22.160 of these things from studying all the different religions to doing affirmations which is really
01:04:27.200 just visualizing what you want and writing it down every day visualizing what you want
01:04:32.320 writing it down every day and then learning persuasion these all have the same cumulative
01:04:37.220 effect of teaching me that reality was indeed far more subjective than you're led to believe
01:04:44.220 And when I say reality is subjective, I don't mean that there isn't some base reality that's real.
01:04:54.660 What I mean is that we don't have access to it.
01:04:59.120 In other words, you just take religion.
01:05:02.840 Two people with completely different religions can go into a store, they can shop, they can get married, have children.
01:05:09.380 They don't really need to reconcile the fact that they live in different worlds.
01:05:13.500 One thinks there's an afterlife, one thinks there's reincarnation, one thinks there's nothing,
01:05:19.120 and yet we all survive and thrive and reproduce.
01:05:24.040 There's nothing to suggest that our brains are the kind of brains that can understand reality.
01:05:31.580 Instead, all of the evidence suggests that we can put filters, optionally and somewhat subjectively,
01:05:38.580 on our reality and the thing that we deal with is a filter we're not dealing with the underlying
01:05:43.760 reality but our filter on it is the thing that's real to us and you can change those filters so
01:05:49.720 that's the important part and you can change them fairly easily and if you find a filter that
01:05:55.980 predicts better and makes you happier well that's the better filter even if it isn't a better
01:06:01.940 approximation of reality what matters is you're happy what matters is you're getting what you need
01:06:07.480 Out of life
01:06:08.220 Think positively
01:06:10.320 Think positively
01:06:12.100 Think positively
01:06:13.940 How to program reality
01:06:15.860 Think positively
01:06:17.480 Think positively
01:06:19.300 Think positively
01:06:21.060 You can change those filters
01:06:24.800 Change those filters
01:06:26.780 Change those filters
01:06:28.440 How to program reality
01:06:30.140 Think positively
01:06:31.840 Think positively
01:06:33.700 Think positively
01:06:35.460 So once you accept that there's a subjective reality,
01:06:53.460 you're starting to get ready to accept the user interface for that reality.
01:07:05.460 love i love that one it's so jazzy it's so good i love that it's so romantic no metallica let me
01:07:17.760 tell you what did anyone listen to metallica after hearing about metallica yesterday i did
01:07:24.260 when i went to work i was listening oh nice okay good um clink you wish you had permission to use
01:07:31.600 Akira's stuff could make some really cute videos, message him. You never know. He also makes videos.
01:07:36.900 So keep that in mind. He makes his own videos. Oh, somebody asked, was it Maureen or somebody
01:07:43.960 asked on YouTube, you were wondering, maybe it was Linda, about Akira has those cartoons in his
01:07:52.220 latest video and he absolutely has permission to use them. I asked him and he does. He has
01:07:59.020 absolute permission to use them. So don't feel like he just stole somebody's work. Okay.
01:08:05.340 They are from movies though. Yeah. And they're, they're out there where he's,
01:08:10.140 they're from the fifties and he told me the whole explanation of it, but yes,
01:08:14.360 he's absolutely allowed to use this. Um, what else? Very, very white. You thought about Metallica
01:08:20.500 and the lyrics i got wrong oh okay um metallica news oh did you miss it yesterday lucinda is that
01:08:30.180 what you're saying i wish i knew what everybody was thinking let me see um metallica i know what
01:08:35.900 everybody's thinking you're thinking you were awesome that's what i like amazing did you guys
01:08:41.540 give us a like yeah did you did you everybody like everywhere locals go to youtube and like us
01:08:49.260 that's so funny uh yes copyright expired andy all that stuff but there i think there's also like a
01:08:58.240 um i don't know andy but there's a thing there's a fair use fair use when you take a product and
01:09:07.400 then recreate it and cut it up and do it put it as part of your artwork let me see if i can find
01:09:15.200 my message from akira and i'll tell you what he said akira where are you here we are um okay
01:09:26.000 let me just don't want to read that part okay so basically those are samples of a bunch of old
01:09:31.520 public domain out of copyright public service cartoons from the 50s specifically from the
01:09:38.880 youtube video description video samples albert in blunderland from 1950 how the stock in that
01:09:46.080 particular um video but in others it's not cartoon tutorial economics investing video 1952 so um if
01:09:56.080 people are interested if you check the description of the videos on youtube it usually has that sort
01:10:00.880 information. So they are, again, basically those are samples of a bunch of old public domain out
01:10:09.360 of copyright public service cartoons from the fifties. Okay. I did want to clear that up.
01:10:15.800 Andy, it's so funny. Some of them are anime from one of the biggest anime creators and not in that
01:10:24.240 particular video, in another video. So, but again, fair use when you create a new product from
01:10:30.380 when you splice it and put everything else on it um and akira is very careful because
01:10:37.500 his music is copyrighted too so he like he's not going to infringe on someone else's work
01:10:42.760 if you're not allowed he's you know he's he's not new he's not new he knows what he's doing
01:10:47.300 yeah but thanks for asking because you know integrity matters it sure does um okay thanks
