00:00:28.260 But we're going to go through it a little bit. I should tell you that Rebel News and our former

00:00:33.740 reporter, Kian Bextie, sued the government of Canada, challenging the legality, challenging

00:00:41.180 the constitutionality of Justin Trudeau's airport COVID jails. I don't think that they're officially

00:00:50.100 called jails or called quarantine facilities or something. But when it's a government order

00:00:56.940 that requires you to stay in a locked facility, I mean, you could walk out, I suppose, but then

00:01:05.740 you get a massive ticket. When you're losing your liberty for three days, and by the way,

00:01:11.100 you have to spend thousands of dollars for it, when you're required to do this, that's a jail.

00:01:16.620 Well, that's a jail. In fact, most people who are jailed are not actually even jailed for three

00:01:22.400 days. Most people, they go to jail, then they get out on bail, and then there's some hearing later.

00:01:28.320 And as you know, for the vast majority of offenses in Canada, there's no jail time. So we went to the

00:01:36.880 federal court of Canada and applied to have this law declared unconstitutional because it violates

00:01:48.480 various rights of Canadian citizens. And we were in court. The Justice Center for Constitutional

00:01:56.360 Freedoms, they were in court too. And a couple of private citizens, I think there was some marijuana

00:02:02.240 grow-up boss who didn't like the fact that he was ordered into these jails. So he sued. He's got

00:02:07.560 some money, obviously. And that's it. Can you go to the Federal Court of Canada website? That might be

00:02:15.380 a better way to find it. But if you've got the PDF version, that'll... Okay. We said it's a violation of

00:02:25.080 all sorts of things. It's basically false imprisonment. You give up your freedom of mobility.

00:02:30.960 There's no due process. Like, it really violates so many different sections in our

00:02:38.260 Charter of Rights. And the first point I'd like to make is how disappointing, and

00:02:45.360 disappointing isn't even the right word, how... I mean, the word betrayal comes to mind

00:02:58.820 fighting for these same freedoms alongside us. There was no Civil Liberties Association like

00:03:04.240 that Canadian Civil Liberties Association. There's a bunch of those. There's the BC Civil

00:03:08.760 Liberties Association. There's the Rocky Mountain Civil Liberties Association. There's all these

00:03:13.000 liberal groups that always claimed to care about civil liberties. They were not in court.

00:05:35.460 are sent to the COVID jails. That's a fact. I was very disappointed to see this news today.

00:05:53.400 yeah, there's a decision there. So just go slow for a second. Let's just go through the front page

00:05:56.980 just to show people for a second what we're talking about here. So as you can see, it's in the federal

00:06:02.000 court, the Chief Justice, Paul Crampton. So here's a group of people who sued their sort of individual

00:06:10.640 plaintiffs there. Okay, and then scroll down a little bit more. A little bit more. And then

00:06:17.580 you can see, I think that's the marijuana guy. And then there's Rebel News and our former reporter

00:06:29.600 Freedoms represented a bunch of these folks. And so they were there. And good on them. But

00:06:57.580 end. Can you go right to the very end? It's 130 plus pages. And a lot of it's technical,

00:07:08.780 but there's just one paragraph near the end. Where under conclusions. And he, so he goes

00:07:15.980 through, let me just take you out of suspense. He throws it out. He throws the case out.

00:07:21.040 He said, yeah, sure. It's an inconvenience. But it's not a major violation of your liberties

00:08:34.160 some of them. However, like times of war and other crises, pandemics call for sacrifices

00:08:44.140 to save lives and avoid broad-based suffering. If we are unwilling to make such sacrifices and engage

00:08:55.380 behavior that poses a demonstrated risk to the health and safety of others, the principles of

00:09:02.880 fundamental justice will not prevent the state from performing its essential function of protecting

00:09:08.220 its citizens from that risk. So there's a lot in there, isn't it? So he's, he's talking about folks

00:09:18.580 with second residences abroad. So he's saying, oh, you rich folks, you're rich like me. I'm going to

00:09:24.940 disparage you as rich. So you're rich. Yeah. You rich folks with second homes abroad. You may not like

00:09:30.720 this. Well, how about, it's actually the opposite, isn't it? If you are a wealthy person with a home

00:09:35.760 abroad, odds are you can just skip the quarantines and pay the massive fine. It's actually the opposite.

00:11:30.160 I like to take vacations. He's had an easy workload because so many courts just shut down for a lot of

00:11:36.440 the pandemic. I wonder what sacrifices this 350 grand a year federal court judge has made during

00:11:46.360 the pandemic. I think he'd have a tough time of finding a list other than my favorite restaurant

00:11:52.060 was closed. I'm not sure if anyone in the government class has made a sacrifice. Can you put that page
