00:01:14.460 Welcome to Rebel Roundup, ladies and gentlemen, and the rest of you,

00:01:32.600 in which we look back at some of the very best commentaries of the week by your favorite Rebels.

00:01:37.460 I'm your host, David Menzies.

00:01:39.340 Despite Prime Minister Justin Trudeau invoking the Emergencies Act,

00:01:45.220 the truckers and their supporters are holding the line in Ottawa.

00:01:49.520 Alexa Lavoie is in the nation's capital, and she has the latest news from Ground Zero.

00:01:55.460 Since when did law enforcement think it was a good idea to enforce the law by, oh, you know, breaking the law?

00:02:05.660 Case in point, RCMP in Alberta decided to do six figures worth of vandalism to three excavators,

00:02:13.360 heavy equipment that wasn't even being used in the protest.

00:02:18.340 Sid Fazzard has all the shocking details.

00:02:20.460 And letters, we get your letters, we get them every minute of every day.

00:02:25.520 And you had plenty to say about the now-defunct Ambassador Bridge blockade in Windsor.

00:02:31.780 But while the demonstrators were cleared out last Sunday,

00:02:37.700 a new blockade is affecting Windsor as well.

00:02:41.700 This courtesy of law enforcement?

00:02:44.100 Oh, the irony.

00:02:46.140 Those are your Rebels.

00:02:47.400 Now let's round them up.

00:02:50.460 Here we are, one of the first trucks who arrived on scene at the beginning, on the 28th of January.

00:03:03.640 The most popular truck.

00:03:05.320 And inside of it, we have a lot of supply, gas, food, fuel.

00:03:10.440 Let's check it out inside.

00:03:12.000 It's been a challenge from the start.

00:03:14.460 A lot of these jerry cans we had to smuggle in.

00:03:16.820 And so, as you heard, you've seen thousands of people walking around with jerry cans.

00:03:21.600 So, we did what we had to do.

00:03:23.740 So, yeah.

00:03:24.980 First of all, did you have any difficulty to put some fuel in your truck since the beginning?

00:03:29.600 Like, since they say that we cannot supply trucker?

00:03:33.180 Nope, not at all.

00:03:34.180 We're truckers, so we always find a way.

00:03:36.460 So, we've been fine the whole time.

00:03:37.500 I see you are putting some gas.

00:03:41.280 Did you have any problem recently with that?

00:03:44.520 No, for the most part.

00:03:46.460 Most police officers were actually really encouraging.

00:03:49.600 And we had a couple bad actors.

00:03:51.580 But other than that, we haven't had anything confiscated today.

00:03:54.680 And everyone just has a lot of love and a lot of appreciation.

00:03:58.220 These cans have more than fuel in them.

00:03:59.700 They have a lot of moral and just positive reinforcement for these truckers.

00:04:04.220 A lot of these guys have families in here, right?

00:04:06.420 Kids, staying warm.

00:04:07.700 So, we're just helping out any way we can.

00:04:15.760 So, as you know, here in Ottawa, it's pretty cold.

00:04:19.680 And people need some warm fireplace.

00:04:22.820 And we can find some stand like that with the fireplace.

00:04:26.360 A little bit everywhere.

00:04:28.080 All around.

00:04:29.640 Is he in BC now?

00:04:32.500 Come on, Justin.

00:04:33.460 Come have some pancakes with us.

00:04:35.160 The beds of Harrington Lake if you want to buy them.

00:04:37.600 So, every day here at the Potterman Hill in this square,

00:04:42.340 we can see all the time people who are cooking for order.

00:04:46.900 And everything is donation and free for everybody who are hungry.

00:04:50.720 So, people have built this camp in the middle of Wellington Street to warm up and to have a place to be able to eat.

00:05:05.060 And as well, you can see more and more supply donations for the people who are in need.

00:05:11.020 Most of the truck drivers have now their own mailbox for sending a message that they are not going anywhere.

00:05:25.040 And as well, for the people who want to send some message, they can just let here for them.

00:05:31.580 Wow, just look at all that hatred and bigotry and racism and Islamophobia and anti-Semitism on display upon Parliament Hill, eh?

00:05:40.840 Alas, the narrative being spun by the government and the trained SEALs who comprise the government-funded media clearly does not resemble reality.

00:05:51.420 Fancy that.

00:05:53.340 And joining me now with more on the ongoing protest upon Parliament Hill is our Quebec-based reporter, Alexa Lavoie.

00:06:02.300 Bonjour, Alexa.

00:06:04.700 Bonjour.

00:06:05.620 Ça va bien?

00:06:06.200 Ah, that's how you say it.

00:06:08.560 You know, I failed grade 10 French class.

00:06:12.140 You know, Alexa, this is a very fluid story we see happening on Parliament Hill.

00:06:19.540 There are new developments by the hour, practically.

00:06:23.340 Let's focus on, first of all, the mood of the protesters right now in light of what I consider to be very draconian announcements coming down the pike,

00:06:35.400 i.e., Ottawa Police saying if you bring a minor to the unlawful protest area, to use their words, you're looking at a $5,000 fine and maybe five years in jail.

00:06:49.360 And then there's the confiscation of pets.

00:06:53.040 And then, of course, there's all those other penalties, thanks to the Emergencies Act, such as cancelling your insurance, revoking your license, etc.

00:07:04.000 Alexa, with all this tough talking, what are you hearing from the truckers and their supporters on Parliament Hill?

00:07:11.280 Well, first of all, most of the people think that it's just a threat.

00:07:17.720 So, for them, they don't really seem worried.

00:07:21.440 The truck drivers say that they are not going anywhere.

00:07:25.420 Same if they pull their license, throw their bank account and stop their company from working.

00:07:33.940 What they say, most of them, is like they take, the government take away all what they have.

00:07:40.580 So, what they have left, being here until the mandates are left.

00:07:46.760 It's what they want and they will stay until the end.

00:07:49.740 You know, that's a very good point.

00:07:51.540 When a man has nothing to lose, your threats are meaningless to him.

00:07:56.180 And also, Alexa, what did you make of the announcement a couple of days ago by Justice Minister David Lumet where he said that he was basically going to nationalize the Ottawa area tow truck industry.

00:08:13.100 He was going to force these individuals who run privately owned companies into action to start hauling away some of these trucks.

00:08:21.940 And the tow truck drivers and their associations said, no way.

00:08:26.140 I mean, that's business suicide.

00:08:27.640 When all this is over, we depend on the business from the big rig truck drivers.

00:08:33.480 They're going to remember who towed them and who didn't.

00:08:36.660 And this is an economic death sentence.

00:08:38.420 But it seemed that the Justice Minister, he was going down the route of something you see in a banana republic just taking over an industry by the state. 0.91

00:08:49.240 What have you heard?

00:08:51.940 I know that most of the tow company don't want to proceed to tow the truck driver because they are on their side.

00:09:01.180 But at the same time, I can understand if they have been trapped to lose their company because they're not complying to the demand.

00:09:10.460 That is another thing.

00:09:11.840 We need to think that everybody have their life and family to feed, mortgage and even more.

00:09:19.220 And so it's a really, really heartbreaking, heartbreaking decision for most of them.

00:09:27.200 And I know a lot of tow companies will not comply to that.

00:09:33.720 And I hope that most of them will not comply to that because, again, it will be a complying to the decision of the government.

00:09:44.760 All the way we do it, you politicize your police and now you politicize your company who towed the car.

00:09:54.220 That doesn't work like that.

00:09:56.760 No, it's something to see.

00:09:58.640 And, you know, Alexa, with Justin Trudeau invoking the Emergencies Act, I want to ask you, is there really an emergency here?

00:10:08.080 The Emergencies Act, of course, was the replacement for the War Measures Act going back to 1988.

00:10:13.980 His daddy, Pierre Elliott Trudeau, he invoked the War Measures Act back in 1970.

00:10:19.700 But you could make an argument that, well, there was kidnappings, there was a murder of a cabinet minister.

00:10:26.080 So there was active terrorism happening by the FLQ.

00:10:30.940 Do you think that this protest on Parliament Hill by the truckers and their supporters, does that meet the benchmark of a true emergency?

00:10:40.640 If free food and free hog and a lot of love, it's a crime, yeah, we are really in a really big emergency action.

00:10:55.640 But right now, what I can see, all the roads are free to go, at least one line.

00:11:01.040 So the roads are not blocked.

00:11:03.120 People are gathering together, giving their love, giving free food, free fuel, free gas to everybody who needs it, offer their hotel room for the truck driver to go and take a shower, warm up.

00:11:17.600 Some people are same offering to take their clothes to be washed.

00:11:21.180 So I don't see the point to have an emergency at all, especially when we look at some playground for children, giving some free toy.

00:11:32.060 And I have someone behind you to take a picture.

00:11:34.840 That's really funny.

00:11:36.600 One of your millions and millions of fans, Alexa.

00:11:39.620 Yeah, but yeah, so I don't see the point of the emergency right now.

00:11:47.740 It just looks like a really peaceful protest where just love is there and peace.

00:11:53.160 And if if people have say that they have violence or threatening from the protester, I'm sorry, I didn't see any of that here.

00:12:04.380 And Alexa, one final question.

00:12:07.000 I'm going to ask you to do some crystal ball gazing.

00:12:10.080 We know that with Justin Trudeau pursuing the Emergencies Act, this is the beginning of the end game by the government to get this thing shut down.

00:12:22.200 Here's the thing.

00:12:23.080 They've already threatened to freeze bank accounts, take away business licenses, driver's licenses, cancel insurance.

00:12:30.820 Take away, have the CAS, take away your children, have your animal taken away and perhaps euthanized within eight days if you don't come up with the money.

00:12:41.360 Where is this ultimately headed?

00:12:44.160 Because as we can clearly see, they are not going anywhere.

00:12:48.760 Do you envision, Alexa, that when the final days come, we're going to see police really use force?

00:12:56.180 And by that, I mean rubber bullets, tear gas, et cetera.

00:12:59.660 How do you think this is going to end?

00:13:03.160 I will say something.

00:13:05.200 For my personal opinion, Mr. Trudeau is losing his face right now.

00:13:10.520 And because he's putting more and more measure against a really peaceful protest, against really lovely people and good family, good friends.

00:13:23.400 And now he just looks like a tyrant.

00:13:27.480 I'm sorry, but it's the word.

00:13:29.480 Because he has no sign of any violence, any racist or misogynist, as he said.

00:13:37.100 These people are not terrorists.

00:13:39.480 These people just want their basic freedom back.

00:13:42.100 And I'm sorry, but if he continues in this way, nobody will respect him anymore.

00:13:49.900 And more people will rise up and more people will come here in Ottawa in support of it.

00:13:55.040 So he's actually created the opposite of what he wants.

00:13:58.440 Well, you know what, Alexa?

00:14:00.900 Several years ago in Toronto, just before he became Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau infamously said that he has admiration for the basic dictatorship that is communist China in terms of getting things done.

00:14:15.720 And I guess now we know what he meant by getting things done.

00:14:19.620 That means to potentially violently shut down a protest because he does not agree with the ideology. 0.67

00:14:27.920 I think this man is an egomaniac.

00:14:30.760 It's a shame. 0.62

00:14:32.200 All he had to do was come out and meet with the protesters.

00:14:35.320 Instead, he demonized them and vilified them and even called them racist.

00:14:40.440 This coming from a guy who's used blackface so many times.

00:14:43.840 Even he's lost count.

00:14:45.780 Last word goes to you, Alexa.

00:14:48.860 So seriously, if everybody can see that, don't believe what mainstream or newspapers say right now about the protest.

00:14:58.280 Come here and see by your own eyes.

00:15:00.680 These people are there helping each other and they are not judging each other and they are just loving each other.

00:15:08.960 So it's what I say, come and see by yourself instead of reading or looking at other media who say something else that is not true.

00:15:17.520 Come and see the other side of the story.

00:15:19.540 A hundred percent.

00:15:20.220 And I can verify that almost two weekends ago I was at Ground Zero with you and Link and Jane.

00:15:27.120 By the way, the both of you are doing a great job.

00:15:29.120 And you're right.

00:15:29.860 Lovely people.

00:15:31.300 No vandalism.

00:15:32.360 No violence.

00:15:33.260 They're even walking around picking up trash to keep the streets clean.

00:15:38.660 It really is so revealing how the government and the media are lying through their teeth about this.

00:15:47.360 Alexa, thank you so much for making time to join me.

00:15:51.700 Bundle up.

00:15:52.420 I hear there's a snowstorm heading into Ottawa.

00:15:55.940 So you stay safe and stay warm, my friend.

00:15:59.240 Yes.

00:15:59.700 Thank you for having me.

00:16:01.200 Have a good day.

00:16:01.880 Fantastic.

00:16:03.080 And that was Alexa Laval in Ottawa. 0.63

00:16:06.360 Keep it here, folks.

00:16:07.140 More of Rebel Roundup to come right after this.

00:16:16.960 So they've cut this main battery cable.

00:16:20.140 They cut this negative battery cable almost all the way through.

00:16:23.480 They cut the cables on the solenoids.

00:16:25.280 These would be start solenoids and probably loop plug solenoids.

00:16:30.260 And in this control box, they've cut all the wires in it.

00:16:34.380 They took the fuel lines off.

00:16:35.980 They sprayed foam them shut.

00:16:37.740 There's a filter missing over there.

00:16:41.340 And they've cut all the wires off the solenoids there.

00:16:45.900 Let's get ready.

00:16:46.660 Yeah, and then on the other side here.

00:16:58.980 You can see the foam there, yeah.

00:16:59.760 There's a foam.

00:17:00.720 A few of the boys have brought out some equipment here and they've parked it on private land with permission from the owner to park it here.

00:17:21.780 RCMP, they had it parked in view of the, within view of the highway.

00:17:26.800 RCMP requested that it be moved out of view of the highway.

00:17:30.660 So we've obliged them.

00:17:33.780 After it was moved here, somebody sabotaged the equipment.

00:17:37.340 There's wires cut, there's filters removed, spray foam, put up fuel lines.

00:17:43.940 Like these things, these all three machines, they're valuable machines.

00:17:48.840 And it's going to take a lot of work to put them back into order.

00:17:52.620 I can't see that happening.

00:17:55.440 Like there's parts missing, parts have to be replaced.

00:17:59.520 There's a lot of labor that's got to go into fixing these things before these fellas can use their own equipment again. 1.00

00:18:05.980 Hey there.

00:18:07.280 It's George Sottenkoff calling you back.

00:18:09.160 Yep, thank you.

00:18:10.420 So I can confirm that we disabled three, looks like three, excavators.

00:18:15.340 Yep.

00:18:16.660 To prevent the equipment from being used and the illegal activity of the blockade.

00:18:21.120 Was there an expectation there as to how they were going to be used?

00:18:25.980 I don't, I'm not sure.

00:18:27.280 I've got the answer for you.

00:18:28.940 I'm not sure what other questions you might have relative to that.

00:18:31.700 I wasn't part of that planning or the execution of that.

00:18:36.880 So I don't think I can comment any further than that.

00:18:39.420 Nope, it's all good.

00:18:40.060 Really appreciate that.

00:18:40.940 Thank you so much.

00:18:41.480 No problem, Sid.

00:18:42.100 Take care, buddy.

00:18:42.620 Yep, bye-bye.

00:18:43.680 Hi there, it's Corporal Sottenkoff here.

00:18:45.280 Hey there, Corporal.

00:18:46.180 This is Sid calling you again really quickly.

00:18:48.780 If you have the time for a second.

00:18:50.800 Absolutely.

00:18:51.440 Yep, so I just wanted to confirm exactly what the damage was done by the RCMP.

00:18:57.280 The damage, the disabling?

00:19:01.300 Yeah, yeah.

00:19:01.860 So we can, yep.

00:19:03.680 Right, I don't know what we did to disable those vehicles, Sid.

00:19:06.960 Okay, but, okay, yeah, sorry.

00:19:08.320 I forgot to get that bit there last time.

00:19:10.520 But you did confirm that it was you guys.

00:19:12.680 But in terms of the specific damage, you're unaware.

00:19:16.120 Yeah, the specific steps that we took to disable those vehicles, I don't know.

00:19:20.020 You know, law enforcement is supposed to uphold the law.

00:19:25.220 You know, that whole to serve and protect stuff, folks.

00:19:28.140 But since when do police officers subscribe to upholding the law by breaking the law?

00:19:37.280 And make no mistake, this so-called disabling of those pricey excavators, that was outright vandalism.

00:19:45.660 And the vandalism was done on the assumption, without any tangible evidence whatsoever,

00:19:52.740 that these excavators were going to be used in the commission of a crime.

00:19:58.240 Absolutely disgraceful.

00:20:00.860 And joining me now with more on this very disturbing story is the man who broke this story in the first place.

00:20:07.660 And that would be Sid Fizard.

00:20:10.000 Hey, Sid, welcome to Rebel Roundup, my friend.

00:20:13.160 Hey there, it's a pleasure to be joining you today.

00:20:14.580 Fantastic.

00:20:16.040 So, Sid, you spent, I believe, a total of two weeks embedded with the convoy in Coots, Alberta.

00:20:24.420 Meanwhile, the mainstream media types with the CBC, they were embedded with law enforcement.

00:20:29.280 But I think one of the most egregious stories to come out of that was what the RCMP did to those excavators,

00:20:38.280 as your video shows, and as they confirm, they went onto private property,

00:20:43.760 went over to privately owned equipment that was doing nothing except occupying land,

00:20:50.080 and they vandalized it.

00:20:52.140 Probably the vandalism is over $100,000 in terms of parts and labor.

00:20:56.680 Sid, what the hell were they thinking?

00:20:58.560 Yeah, I have no idea, although I guess the closest thing I would think is that it was done out of spite.

00:21:05.600 They were kind of at every corner running out of options.

00:21:08.440 They didn't know how to deal with the protesters because for the entirety of the time that I was there,

00:21:13.280 it retained its peaceful nature, which is why they couldn't just bring down the hammer.

00:21:17.520 But they were certainly at every corner being turned around, basically, by the protesters in Coots,

00:21:24.500 leaving them with, I think, they felt perhaps like little options.

00:21:28.400 And for some reason, that was one of the options they thought they would go forward with.

00:21:32.020 Yeah, I'm sorry, though, Sid, even if they are spiteful,

00:21:36.800 if you are wearing a badge and carrying around a firearm,

00:21:40.440 you're supposed to overcome those emotions.

00:21:43.400 You're not supposed to lash out.

00:21:45.340 You're not supposed to break the law.

00:21:47.140 I look at police officers at a higher standard than that, and it's shameful.

00:21:51.260 But here's my theory.

00:21:52.680 I think we are looking at sort of something lifted from Minority Report,

00:21:58.480 the Tom Cruise film from 2002, in which they have a pre-crimes unit.

00:22:04.700 So they rely on information and intelligence from psychics

00:22:09.100 about somebody who might be breaking the law in the future,

00:22:13.880 and they arrest him and convict him based on that evidence.

00:22:18.000 I think maybe they thought they were going to roll in those excavators.

00:22:22.360 So the RCMP pre-crimes unit came in.

00:22:26.900 It's funny, that movie was set in 2054.

00:22:29.700 I think they were just off by three decades.

00:22:32.720 It happened right in Alberta in 2022.

00:22:35.940 Your thoughts?

00:22:36.620 Well, the corporal who I spoke with, he didn't have a reason when I asked him

00:22:42.080 if there was an intent they thought that the excavators were going to be used for.

00:22:46.320 Maybe that was just his lack of knowing the situation

00:22:49.080 because he wasn't on the scene, so to speak, I believe, as it was happening.

00:22:53.680 But, yeah, no, it certainly was the case that they were just looking to preemptively do something.

00:23:00.280 I mean, I've shown on Twitter especially, and we'll provide more content as the weeks go on,

00:23:05.840 but the protesters, they kept on changing what they were doing to some small degree.

00:23:12.180 And, again, this, I believe, was a frustrating factor with the RCMP

00:23:15.580 and other authorities who were trying to handle the situation

00:23:18.140 because they kept on getting thrown off, which is why—and it's unfortunate, I believe,

00:23:24.320 that they did this, but that they did sabotage three excavators

00:23:27.980 who didn't explicitly belong to the protest group.

00:23:31.540 And, you know, the other sidebar story to this story, Sid, that I find absolutely fascinating,

00:23:38.580 it's when you go on social media, you see a whole lot of people saying,

00:23:41.880 oh, that's a hoax, they didn't do this.

00:23:44.600 You had that corporal on voice recording admitting,

00:23:47.960 yeah, we're the vandals, we did it.

00:23:50.560 But why is it that there are some people who are apologists for this behavior

00:23:56.060 or even doubling down to the degree of saying that's fake news

00:24:00.740 when the RCMP themselves admit that they, in my opinion, completely broke the law?

00:24:07.960 Well, it's an unfortunate understanding on their part because, like you said,

00:24:12.880 I called the RCMP myself to find out, and he said, yeah, no, we are the ones who did this.

00:24:17.740 Now, maybe they want to argue about whether or not it was legal,

00:24:22.760 and that's something that is very hard to tell because, of course, they work so much in the shadows.

00:24:28.220 But without a shadow of a doubt, they admitted to doing it,

00:24:31.560 and it was very nonchalant the way he responded to that question.

00:24:35.680 So perhaps they didn't think it was as big a deal as it is,

00:24:40.040 but that would just show an unfortunate understanding on the part of the RCMP.

00:24:43.180 And, Sid, in the aftermath, where is the owner going in terms of a legal remedy for this?

00:24:51.160 Like I said, I think that's six figures of repairs in terms of parts and labor.

00:24:58.360 Because if this goes before a court of law, if either of our theories are correct,

00:25:03.620 i.e., this was done out of spite,

00:25:06.080 or b.e., this was a pre-crimes initiative to vandalize this equipment.

00:25:13.140 I don't think any judge on any bench is going to buy that.

00:25:16.700 So what are we looking at in terms of a civil remedy to this egregious behavior by the Mounties?

00:25:24.740 Well, I can't give you an answer to that.

00:25:26.640 I can't give you an answer to what recourse is going to be had.

00:25:29.340 I don't think the story is done.

00:25:31.080 I'm sure that the owner would want to do something about it,

00:25:33.980 or obviously, to the least, repair those machines.

00:25:37.760 But the thing about those repairs is that that was just the immediate damage that was witnessed.

00:25:43.020 We, or the individuals who run those machines,

00:25:45.620 likely don't have a full understanding of the damage that was done.

00:25:48.560 So it's not just a matter of repairing a few pieces here and there.

00:25:51.880 It's a matter of giving that machine a whole inspection

00:25:54.360 to find out if or what else they might have done to them.

00:25:58.780 Unbelievable.

00:25:59.800 Last question, Sid, when you learned about this,

00:26:03.660 because for some reason, this story has really gotten under my skin,

00:26:09.380 even though I have no skin in the game.

00:26:11.040 I don't own that equipment.

00:26:12.300 I don't know who owns the equipment, et cetera.

00:26:15.040 But it just seemed to me that the so-called good guys in law enforcement

00:26:20.620 doing that kind of spiteful, malicious damage

00:26:24.820 to some very high-end construction equipment,

00:26:28.480 it was just beyond the pale.

00:26:30.180 It really bugs me.

00:26:31.200 I'm hoping for some justice.

00:26:33.060 What was your response when you first heard about this

00:26:36.180 and then confirmed that, yes, indeed, this is true,

00:26:39.580 the cops clobbered this equipment?

00:26:42.100 Well, when I first found out about it, I was kind of surprised as well.

00:26:47.320 I didn't understand the why or the how they might have done that.

00:26:52.100 So immediately the guys who had warned me of that

00:26:55.300 had directed me on how to get there,

00:26:57.340 and we had gone so that they could show me the damage that was done.

00:27:02.100 And it was kind of surreal.

00:27:03.560 It didn't really sink in for me.

00:27:05.880 Of course, I understood what they had done was really bad,

00:27:08.060 but I didn't understand the situation at a whole,

00:27:11.240 and I don't think many people do.

00:27:12.440 And like you said before, how you don't have skin in the game.

00:27:15.860 Well, I think, to a sense, we all do,

00:27:17.860 because this is a matter of what our authorities are willing to do to all of us.

00:27:21.760 It's not just the convoy people or the blockade people

00:27:24.860 that they're going to do this to.

00:27:26.400 It is, in fact, all of us if they are given the chance

00:27:29.100 and they're given the green light on this kind of behavior further on into the future.

00:27:32.240 A hundred percent, Sid.

00:27:34.140 You know, I mean, so many police forces on their cruisers,

00:27:37.640 they have the slogan, Deeds Speak.

00:27:40.520 And wow, did that deed ever speak volumes

00:27:44.060 about how rotten that particular unit of Mounties have behaved.

00:27:50.360 It's just absolutely despicable.

00:27:52.760 Sid, thank you so much.

00:27:54.340 You and K2 have been doing incredible work

00:27:57.560 under really difficult circumstances.

00:28:00.040 Thank you for it, and I know if there's any more news

00:28:04.100 out in that neck of the woods, you will be the first to break it.

00:28:07.220 You have a good weekend, my friend.

00:28:09.240 You as well, and I want to thank all of our viewers

00:28:11.120 who helped us along the way.

00:28:12.500 It is only through them, and with these new emergency orders coming through,

00:28:16.380 it's even more the time that we thank them for what they provide for us.

00:28:20.580 Indeed.

00:28:21.060 I mean, folks, Sid is right.

00:28:22.680 If the RCMP could do that kind of damage

00:28:25.580 without the Emergencies Act invoked,

00:28:28.440 imagine what they're going to do once it is passed.

00:28:33.060 Folks, keep it here.

00:28:34.020 More of Rebel Roundup to come right after this.

00:28:41.280 David Menzies for Rebel News here near the Ambassador Bridge in Windsor, Ontario.

00:28:47.240 Well, folks, it's the day after the final demonstrators were dispersed by police,

00:28:55.200 in some cases arrested by police, and the vehicles towed away.

00:28:59.900 That was on Sunday, late Sunday night.

00:29:03.220 I suspect sometime after the Super Bowl ended,

00:29:06.640 the Ambassador Bridge once again opened for business.

00:29:10.580 And you can see the truck traffic is now getting across the bridge both ways,

00:29:16.840 and a state of normalcy has returned.

00:29:21.580 However, you can't help but notice the perverse irony

00:29:26.640 walking about or driving about Windsor today.

00:29:30.880 There is still a considerable police presence.

00:29:34.260 There are cruisers blocking streets.

00:29:36.700 And in some cases, there are huge concrete blocks blocking streets as well.

00:29:43.120 I can tell you, trying to get from point A to point B for me today,

00:29:47.100 I felt like a rat in a maze.

00:29:49.280 It was downright near impossible to get to your destination

00:29:55.260 without taking myriad side streets and also travel times doubling or tripling.

00:30:01.600 And what's worse is some of the businesses are feeling the effect.

00:30:06.220 Here, check out this.

00:30:07.060 This was around 11.30 a.m.

00:30:10.740 So, in other words, coming up for the lunchtime rush at a Tim Hortons.

00:30:16.900 And check out the crowd.

00:30:19.280 Yeah, I was the only one in that restaurant.

00:30:25.440 There was nobody at the drive-thru.

00:30:27.900 I asked the lady behind the counter, how's business?

00:30:31.460 She said brutal, and it's brutal because of the barricades.

00:30:34.620 It's perversely ironic, isn't it, folks,

00:30:36.800 that the blockade that was the demonstrators and their vehicles, that's long gone.

00:30:42.360 But now it's been replaced by another blockade by law enforcement.

00:30:46.900 Granted, it's not carrying out the same magnitude of economic damage that the demonstrator blockade was doing.

00:30:57.120 But still, if you have a mom-pa business, things aren't good. 0.61

00:31:00.400 And the reason why these blockades are here, and the reason why there is a huge police presence,

00:31:05.480 many of the demonstrators vowed they would come back and reassemble that blockade.

00:31:11.000 That is going to be a very tall order indeed.

00:31:15.860 Law enforcement simply is not going to allow that to happen.

00:31:20.240 So, at the end of the day, was the blockade a success or a failure?

00:31:25.360 I say it was a success.

00:31:27.100 They wanted all mandates lifted.

00:31:29.060 They didn't get that.

00:31:29.940 But look how many provinces are lifting mandates. 0.99

00:31:33.200 And the person who's been demonizing them from day one, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau,

00:31:38.940 check out the recent results of a public opinion poll.

00:31:42.300 He's at 16%, yeah, that's right, 16% of Canadians would vote for Prime Minister Blackface 0.88

00:31:50.800 if an election were held today, thanks to his behavior in the past two weeks.

00:31:56.320 And he has the audacity to call the truckers and their supporters a fringe element?

00:32:03.160 Wow.

00:32:04.380 Look in the mirror, Justin.

00:32:05.740 So, after a seven-day-long blockade of the Ambassador Bridge,

00:32:10.180 this span is now open to traffic yet again.

00:32:13.520 Well, sort of.

00:32:15.360 You see, the entire north-south Huron Church Road,

00:32:18.540 it's been blocked off to east-west traffic.

00:32:22.000 So it is that this major artery is essentially a giant ramp leading up to the Ambassador Bridge.

00:32:30.100 Thus, one blockade has been replaced by another.

00:32:33.480 Yes, the big automakers are getting their parts delivered.

00:32:38.400 But small maw-and-paw businesses in Windsor are taking a fiscal beating.

00:32:44.540 Gee, it kind of resembles the narrative of the COVID-19 pandemic since day one, doesn't it, folks?

00:32:50.660 Namely, the Costcos and Walmarts never had to close.

00:32:54.000 But little shops, well, they had to close under penalty of law.

00:32:59.160 Science.

00:32:59.800 In any event, you had plenty to say about the Ambassador Bridge blockade saga.

00:33:05.280 Josh Dixon writes,

00:33:09.200 Canada is standing for the whole world right now,

00:33:13.020 even while their dear leader gives himself more power to crush dissent.

00:33:18.400 Not just one leader, but many so-called leaders in Canada, in fact.

00:33:22.840 Last Friday, Ontario Premier Doug Ford,

00:33:25.560 well, he enacted a state of emergency to get this blockade lifted.

00:33:28.880 It's all about business, you understand.

00:33:31.420 But how odd that Doug Ford's business, Deco Labels,

00:33:35.760 I don't think they ever had to shut down one day during the pandemic.

00:33:40.220 In fact, I understand that business has never been better at Deco.

00:33:45.740 Unbelievable.

00:33:47.400 And then there is Prime Minister Justin Trudeau demonizing protesters,

00:33:52.280 calling them racist. 0.83

00:33:53.420 Yeah, this from a PM who has a habit of applying blackface makeup.

00:33:59.800 So many times, in fact, that even Justin has lost count.

00:34:04.140 Again, unbelievable.

00:34:05.840 The word of the month.

00:34:07.780 Martin Heath writes,

00:34:08.820 When your own government steals fuel, returns it diluted 50% with water,

00:34:15.200 seizes financial donations,

00:34:17.420 goes into personal bank accounts to freeze them,

00:34:19.780 and nullifies citizens' road tax on their vehicles in order to prosecute them.

00:34:26.180 You know this is all about health.

00:34:28.260 Yeah, I hear you, Martin.

00:34:30.200 Do you even think for a second that our great dominion democracy

00:34:34.460 would devolve into a quasi-dictatorship virtually overnight?

00:34:39.180 Then again, it was Justin Trudeau who stated that he admires the basic dictatorship

00:34:44.980 of communist China in terms of that country's ability of getting things done.

00:34:51.620 So I guess what we are seeing right now should really come as no surprise whatsoever.

00:34:58.680 Chanel Kay writes,

00:34:59.700 The past two years, the governments around the world has crushed small businesses they don't care

00:35:05.860 about, their own people.

00:35:07.720 They just line their own pockets.

00:35:10.300 God bless the truckers and their families.

00:35:13.100 Big respect to you.

00:35:14.720 You're absolutely right, Chanel.

00:35:16.040 You know, these truckers and their supporters have been absolutely vilified by some critics,

00:35:22.920 some of them calling the truckers economic terrorists.

00:35:26.760 But given how the Canadian economy has been subjected to brutal government-sanctioned lockdowns,

00:35:33.300 given that thousands of businesses have gone under in this country,

00:35:37.240 and tens of thousands of Canadians have lost their jobs,

00:35:41.300 it makes you wonder, doesn't it, who the real economic terrorists are?

00:35:45.480 And True Christian writes,

00:35:49.200 The blockade was a failure because the truckers didn't hold the line.

00:35:52.920 Rather, they folded like a cheap suit at the first threat of being arrested.

00:35:58.880 I respectfully disagree, True Christian. 0.99

00:36:02.000 These demonstrators spent several days in freezing cold temperatures holding that line.

00:36:07.700 And when the state of emergency was declared,

00:36:10.040 they faced fines of up to $100,000 and a year in jail.

00:36:13.800 I think it's quite easy to be a Monday morning quarterback and say,

00:36:17.720 hold the line when you have no skin in the game.

00:36:21.060 Actually, True Christian, feel free to join a demonstration and show us how it's done.

00:36:27.260 Hope you don't fold like a cheap suit.

00:36:31.100 Well, that wraps up another edition of Rebel Roundup.

00:36:34.040 Thanks so much for joining us.

00:36:36.140 See you next week.

00:36:37.120 And hey, folks, never forget, without risk, there can be no glory.

00:36:41.100 Good night.

00:36:43.800 Good night.
