00:01:27.080 which owns TikTok. That's the leading social media app for North American teenagers, and it is a huge
00:01:33.400 pipeline of propaganda. Pro-China, pro-Russia, pro-Hamas. I find that interesting myself. 0.83
00:01:41.760 I'm on TikTok because I'm a news commentator. To be candid, I find a lot of information on TikTok
00:01:46.620 that I don't find in the mainstream media I normally consume or even the independent media
00:01:51.140 I normally consume. I always seek to verify anything I see on TikTok through other sources,
00:01:56.260 but it is a window into worlds that I normally don't have. I want to see the propaganda of the
00:02:02.600 other side because sometimes it's actually true on rare occasion, but even if it's not,
00:02:07.340 I think I'm savvy enough to identify it as propaganda, and it's still useful for me to know it,
00:02:13.100 to get a read on the whole picture of the world. I want to know what the other side is saying.
00:02:18.260 But what happens if you're 14 years old or 16 years old or 18 years old, and you haven't really
00:02:23.580 studied your own history? It's not even really taught anymore anywhere, is it? And you aren't
00:02:28.920 well grounded in your own identity, your own country's identity. You haven't heard your side
00:02:33.620 of the story, but now you're immersed in your enemy's side of the story. That's what's happening.
00:02:38.820 It's a direct pipeline from our enemies, foreign dictatorships, foreign propaganda networks like
00:02:44.440 Al Jazeera and other state broadcasters directly into the hearts and minds of our young people.

00:02:54.580 imagine if Nazi Germany or Imperial Japan back in the 30s and 40s had a way to communicate directly
00:03:00.440 with millions of young Americans, planting seeds of doubt, encouraging dissent,
00:03:04.640 even violent dissent, normalizing being anti-patriotic, normalizing being pro-terrorism,
00:03:11.860 normalizing anti-Semitism. I like to follow accounts online that inspire me,
00:03:17.500 that are a role model for me. I like to follow some non-political accounts too,
00:03:21.380 some comedians, some musicians. But I have always made a point of watching what my critics and
00:03:26.260 opponents say to know the other side of the story, to know what I have to rebut,
00:03:29.600 and occasionally to acknowledge that the other side once in a while has a point,
00:03:32.980 once in a while that make me reconsider my own thoughts. So I sample from the enemy.
00:03:37.960 I look at anti-Semitic and pro-Hamas and pro-woke accounts. But look,
00:03:42.620 there is no way you can consume that much enemy propaganda without having it emotionally affect
00:03:48.760 you. You start to think that everyone in the world is a barbarian and that everyone in the world is full
00:03:54.500 of bloodlust. Everyone's cheering for violence, that countries far away are reverting to ancient levels
00:03:59.800 of barbarity and violence and cruelty, as Hobbes would say, where life was solitary, poor, nasty, brutish,
00:04:07.680 and short. And when you see our own Canadian civility, our politeness, our mutual friendship,
00:04:13.160 our high-trust society, our sense of community being replaced by people who cheer for violence.
00:04:18.820 And worst of all, when our own national leaders abide it and our media encourage it or hide it.
00:04:26.600 I can't believe this tweet from CTV News last night. A woman was murdered by Hamas, a Canadian woman,
00:04:33.700 and she was so brutalized it took weeks to identify her remains. And here's what CTV News said,
00:04:40.140 quote, Canadian peace activist Vivian Silver, who went missing after Hamas attack, has died.
00:04:50.120 Really, just died. And here's what Trudeau's foreign minister said about the same woman,
00:04:55.700 Melanie Jolie says,
00:04:57.600 Vivian Silver was a proud Israeli-Canadian and lifelong advocate for peace. I met her son in Tel Aviv and he
00:05:04.280 described her as kind, generous, and selfless. Canada mourns her loss with him and her loved ones.
00:05:10.140 So she's lost. It's a loss. She's lost. Is she? What happened? Did COVID get her, maybe?

00:05:39.200 the entire article to you. A place of worship in Belleville's East End was vandalized early
00:05:46.420 Tuesday. City police report a congregation member called saying he'd advised a man who approached
00:05:52.260 the front of the building at 6.30 in the morning that it was closed to the public. At that point,
00:05:56.920 it's alleged, the man walked to the west side of the place of worship and smashed a window.
00:06:00.520 Police arrived quickly and arrested a 44-year-old suspect from British Columbia and charged him with
00:06:05.540 mischief under $5,000. He was held for a bail hearing. Police say there's no evidence to suggest
00:06:10.620 the crime was hate-motivated. Oh, really? Is that the case? Then why won't you say it's a synagogue?
00:06:18.720 And what is the name of the accused attacker? You'd have to check a different newspaper to learn any
00:06:25.960 actual facts about it. There's a synagogue, of course. My point is, if you only look at the world
00:06:30.860 through a certain lens, it looks pretty bleak. The kids call it doom scrolling. When people keep going
00:06:36.800 through their social media feeds hour after hour, just consuming more and more and more bleak news,
00:06:41.360 I do that sometimes. But doom scrolling can get you down. Sometimes you just have to put the cell phone
00:06:48.660 down and go outside for a walk, I say, giving myself advice. And although we have to be skeptics,
00:06:54.960 and I'd rather be a pessimist who's proven wrong than an optimist who's proven wrong. I hate saying
00:06:59.840 the words, I told you so. But I still think maybe once in a while we ought to take a moment to look
00:07:04.940 at some good news. It's not great news, but it is not completely bleak out there. Let me share with
00:07:09.940 you some okay news. For one thing, today, there are about a quarter million people who marched in
00:07:16.780 Washington, D.C. in support of Israel and against anti-Semitism. And it was peaceful. And there were no
00:07:22.100 threats and no calls for genocide or jihad. There were Israeli flags and U.S. flags too.
00:07:27.480 And it was positive. It was sad, but it was positive. And the fact that a quarter million
00:07:31.520 Jews and righteous Gentiles went out to march is remarkable. I mean, the woke left are professional
00:07:37.640 activists. They are often students or government workers or even people on social assistance.
00:07:42.560 They are at leisure, let's say. They're the kind of perpetual rent-a-mob with professional
00:07:47.700 activists and organizers like public sector union bosses and antifa types. But the crowd
00:07:54.080 today was very different. Severely normal people who don't usually go to protests. I found it
00:07:59.280 encouraging. I even saw some Democrats there. And that made me feel good, not because I like
00:08:04.880 Democrats, but because it confirmed for me that no, the entire Democratic Party has not
00:08:09.720 yet lost its mind and gone full Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, full Ilhan Omar. And that there are even
00:08:15.920 some Democrats willing to stand for Israel's right to exist and Israel's right to fight back
00:08:21.080 against a Nazi-style terrorist group. Here's a U.S. State Department spokesman, Matthew Miller is his
00:08:27.480 name, actually pushing back on the blood libel that Israel is attacking hospitals. Listen to this
00:08:33.800 yesterday. We would love to see all the people that are calling for Israel to take steps to protect
00:08:37.820 hospitals call for Hamas to vacate the hospitals and stop using civilians as human shields. We would
00:08:43.280 love to see Hamas take some of the fuel reserves it's sitting on and use that to supply hospitals 0.93
00:08:48.320 in northern Gaza. We would love to see Hamas have taken the fuel that Israel offered it yesterday 0.95
00:08:53.940 that they declined for use at Al-Shifa Hospital. So it's a very difficult situation. And I would say

00:09:14.120 Israel is about a democracy. That must be very clearly said. And there is no doubt about it.
00:09:20.620 And we will also emphasize that in every conversation and every chance that this is our view of things.

00:09:57.660 or a front group for Iran. I'm sort of surprised that the NCCM published that poll anyways,
00:10:03.100 because it makes them look so obscure and marginal and radical. And I also see the latest polling
00:10:09.340 numbers federally for the election. And Justin Trudeau has never been this low. It's his worst ever.
00:10:16.700 He's almost behind the NDPs, almost in third place. And yes, there are lots of reasons besides
00:10:22.300 his handling of the Hamas-Israel issue, of course. Inflation, cost of living, cost of housing,
00:10:27.100 crime, his bizarre carbon tax, his carbon tax exemption just for his friends, a zillion things.
00:10:31.980 I know that. But those were all in effect five weeks ago. He has fallen to a record low
00:10:37.260 in the past five weeks. And I put it to you that his handling of the war issue is part of it.

00:11:46.940 missile shot by Iran-backed extremists in Yemen that was aimed at Israel. I saw an unsourced report
00:11:55.420 that Jordan did the same thing about a missile shot from Iraq. Now you have to take these reports
00:12:01.900 with a grain of salt. Maybe it was an Israeli interceptor or maybe an American one. There's
00:12:07.580 two aircraft carriers out there. But my point is just because Hamas and its sponsor Iran and its 1.00
00:12:14.540 safe heart of Qatar and all the Western universities because they all love Hamas doesn't mean the rest
00:12:20.220 of the Arab world does. A lot of countries are not thrilled about what Israel is doing, but they
00:12:26.140 understand that Hamas launched a brutal terrorist attack. One that Israel had to respond to and one that
00:12:32.060 was clearly designed to fracture the Abraham Accords peace deal. And that Accords was seeing remarkable 1.00
00:12:39.340 peace progress between Israel and its Arab neighbors. I think that peace remains in place. I think that is
00:12:45.900 good news. But here's what I think is the best news. Put aside the politics, put aside the media spin,
00:12:52.300 the street marches. What is happening to Hamas itself? Well, the Israeli Defense Forces are actually
00:12:59.580 destroying Hamas. They found hundreds of tunnels. They found hundreds of weapons caches. And they've 0.81
00:13:07.340 taken out hundreds, likely thousands, of terrorists. They've sealed off northern Gaza, cut it off from
00:13:13.740 the other parts, and are clearing it of terrorists. Here, watch some of the footage.

00:16:07.980 By the way, the United States attacked the big hospital in Mosul, Iraq, when the U.S. was taking out ISIS.
00:16:14.700 And that was just normal warfare, collateral damage. That was just a few years ago. But I guess the rules are different for Israel.

00:19:04.140 or what Iran and Hezbollah might try and do. Who knows? It might be about to turn especially bleak. 0.74
