Rebel News Podcast - EZRA LEVANT ｜ CBC releases its annual report — and it’s a disaster!

00:00:00.000 Hey there, I read the CBC's annual report so you don't have to.

00:00:04.280 I found the best and the worst of it.

00:00:06.100 You're going to be appalled by some of it and you'll have a chuckle at other parts.

00:00:09.680 But I'd love you to see the video version of it.

00:00:11.860 Can you go to rebelnewsplus.com, click subscribe?

00:00:14.900 It's eight bucks a month.

00:00:16.460 And you get the video version of this and I do the show every weekday.

00:00:19.380 Plus, you know, we sort of need the dough because we don't take any money from Trudeau.

00:00:24.440 And it shows we're independent minded, but we need your support.

00:00:27.780 Eight bucks is probably not a lot of dough to you, but it is a lot to us because it really adds up.

00:00:33.100 And I'd like you to consider that and go to rebelnewsplus.com.

00:00:37.200 Thanks a million.

00:00:37.860 All right, here's today's podcast.

00:00:53.480 Tonight, CBC releases its annual report and it's a disaster.

00:00:58.240 It's October 5th and this is the Ezra LeVance Show.

00:01:00.760 You're ready for freedom.

00:01:03.800 Shame on you, you censorious bug.

00:01:15.600 I saw this story in Black Locks, which is one of the few non-government funded news sources left in Canada.

00:01:23.400 Here's what it looked like.

00:01:24.580 Their headline was, Say Canada's Unsafe for CBC.

00:01:28.740 Let me read a little bit from their story.

00:01:31.200 Canada is unsafe for Canadian Broadcasting Corporation reporters, says CEO Catherine Tate.

00:01:37.660 The network chief in a report to Parliament claims CBC employees, quote, face rising threats to their safety, both online and in the field.

00:01:46.500 The public broadcaster's role as a source of trusted news and support of original Canadian stories has never been more important than in today's increasingly polarized society.

00:01:55.220 Tate wrote in the latest annual report, our news teams are experiencing the impact of this polarization firsthand as they face rising threats to their safety, both online and in the field.

00:02:07.600 Did you know that the CBC was facing safety threats?

00:02:12.760 I didn't, and I keep my eyes peeled for such things pretty carefully.

00:02:16.460 But maybe I already noticed, detected, just a little bit of baloney here.

00:02:21.200 My BS detector starting to ping like a Geiger counter.

00:02:25.460 Safety threats online?

00:02:28.700 Hey, you guys aren't just talking about mean tweets again, are you?

00:02:31.840 Is that what you mean by safety?

00:02:35.340 Yeah, when they blame others for polarization.

00:02:38.420 Sure.

00:02:39.360 Let me read a bit more.

00:02:40.880 We're defending media freedom so our journalists can stay on the stories that matter to you as they have throughout the pandemic and war in Ukraine and during the 2021 federal election and the convoy protests, wrote Tate.

00:02:53.900 Your public broadcaster is committed to supporting accurate and credible journalism as a cornerstone of our democracy.

00:02:59.740 We are committed to protecting the journalists, producers, cameramen, and all the teams that do the work each and every day.

00:03:06.220 Is that right?

00:03:08.640 The CBC is defending media freedom.

00:03:10.800 That's what they said.

00:03:12.300 I haven't heard that one before.

00:03:14.020 How are they defending media freedom?

00:03:15.620 Where?

00:03:16.140 When?

00:03:16.660 In some court case that I haven't heard about?

00:03:19.500 They did mention the pandemic.

00:03:21.480 Okay.

00:03:22.240 How did the CBC defend press freedom then?

00:03:25.300 They didn't say a word when our reporters were assaulted.

00:03:28.060 Either David Menzies or Alexa Lavoie or even when the Montreal police tried to search our Airbnb houseboat without a warrant.

00:03:35.600 So what do they mean?

00:03:37.760 They're defending freedom in the press in Ukraine?

00:03:40.920 They said that.

00:03:42.540 But they don't even have a reporter in Ukraine.

00:03:45.820 They sent a reporter in for a few days last year.

00:03:49.520 But unless I've missed it, they haven't had a reporter there for ages.

00:03:55.240 Maybe they mean this woman, Briar Stewart, their Russia correspondent, who, as you can see here, is based in London, England.

00:04:03.920 That's a neat trick.

00:04:05.260 You know, we could actually use someone fighting for press freedom in Russia and in Ukraine, too.

00:04:11.660 I can understand why the CBC isn't actually doing that, even though they just said they are.

00:04:17.180 I mean, it's too dangerous.

00:04:18.480 Here's a story.

00:04:19.600 I don't know if you saw this one.

00:04:22.060 There is an American journalist who has been taken prisoner by Russia.

00:04:29.780 That's no good.

00:04:30.680 So I can understand why CBC has their Russian correspondent in London.

00:04:35.100 And here's the New York Times itself with the headline, critics say a new media law signed by Zelensky could restrict press freedom in Ukraine.

00:04:44.380 Lawmakers who passed the bill said it would help meet European Union conditions for membership.

00:04:48.460 But journalists have denounced it as a move towards censorship.

00:04:51.920 So, yeah, I wish the CBC were telling the truth.

00:04:55.360 I wish they were fighting for press freedom in Russia or Ukraine or both.

00:04:58.920 Then again, I say I wish the CBC were telling the truth a lot.

00:05:02.440 Those are words I say often, don't I?

00:05:03.980 So maybe the rest of the sentence was true, that they defend media freedom during the 2021 federal election and the convoy protest.

00:05:12.200 But again, is that true?

00:05:15.100 The only censorship I know of in the 2021 election was Rebel News being banned from attending the leaders debate.

00:05:23.000 We had to go to court in an emergency application to get an order letting us in.

00:05:28.300 The CBC were nowhere to be found and the trucker convoy only in their own fevered minds were the CBC at risk.

00:05:35.560 Not a single convoy protester was ever arrested or charged with violence or threats of violence in Ottawa.

00:05:41.720 Like I say, the only violence in that entire city in that entire time was against Alexa Lavoie by Trudeau's Mounties.

00:05:49.700 So what are they banging on about fighting for freedom?

00:05:54.820 Well, you have to understand, in 2023, to the woke left like CBC, words are violence.

00:06:02.060 So when they talk about safety, they mean safety from microaggressions, from mean tweets.

00:06:08.400 My favorite part of this news story is the last paragraph.

00:06:11.700 This is from Black Locks again.

00:06:13.560 The Canadian Association of Journalists in a January 28, 2022 news release claimed its members suffered, quote,

00:06:19.580 threats of violence and harassment from the Freedom Convoy.

00:06:22.740 The association later acknowledged it learned of all incidents second or third hand

00:06:27.980 and that they typically involved jibes on Twitter. 0.91

00:06:33.420 They're liars. 0.93

00:06:34.500 Sorry. 0.93

00:06:34.940 I used to think about the Canadian Association of Journalists from time to time.

00:06:38.660 I mean, I've been a journalist really on and off for 30 years.

00:06:41.960 But the Canadian Association of Journalists are nothing but a lobby group to beg Trudeau for more money.

00:06:46.920 And since they have to do that every year because Trudeau keeps them hungry, so they never stop begging.

00:06:52.500 So they just are always trying to suck up to them.

00:06:55.560 Here's a screenshot of the Canadian Association of Journalists website.

00:06:58.840 I took this screenshot today.

00:07:00.720 As you can see, it's almost completely focused not on journalism but on begging for more subsidies.

00:07:06.640 There is one story there.

00:07:08.000 Did you see him demanding that politicians don't get to decide who is or isn't a journalist?

00:07:12.300 I sort of like that one.

00:07:13.940 I can relate because Trudeau has banned us from so many things, from the Canadian Parliament itself and from attending UN events.

00:07:21.140 But when I clicked on that link, it had nothing to say about any of that.

00:07:25.500 It was a rant about the Conservative Party not wanting to let a left-wing journalist attend their private party function.

00:07:34.760 Seriously, the Canadian Association of Journalists will demand that Conservatives let liberals into their private functions.

00:07:40.980 But it has nothing to say about the liberal government banning journalists from public functions, like I say.

00:07:50.020 Here's our friend Rupa Subramanian.

00:07:51.960 She points out this whole annual report isn't just the CBC whining and playing the martyr again.

00:07:59.640 It's about the CBC lobbying for Trudeau's next censorship law for him.

00:08:04.240 It's called the Online Harms Act.

00:08:07.500 It will criminalize hurt feelings and give the government the power to actually delete and block entire websites from the Internet, North Korea style. 0.88

00:08:15.720 Rupa's right.

00:08:17.780 Well, all this made me want to read the CBC's annual report.

00:08:21.200 I don't think I've ever said those words before, but, yeah, I did want to read it.

00:08:24.520 So I did.

00:08:24.860 I found Catherine Tate's whining letter, but while I was there, I thought I'd look at the real stats in the annual report, like how many people actually watch the CBC.

00:08:36.100 Here's what they said.

00:08:37.240 So the truth of what's true is surely worse than what they admit to.

00:08:41.720 Here's what they admit to.

00:08:43.080 You can see on the website, this is a chart of how the CBC and CBC News do with audiences in English Canada.

00:08:50.220 Hey, no peeking, what market share do you think the CBC has on television during prime time?

00:08:57.760 Remember, they have a huge brand name, the oldest TV station in Canada.

00:09:02.820 They have $1.5 billion a year to pump them up.

00:09:06.620 What do you think their market share is during prime time?

00:09:09.080 Do you think it's 20%?

00:09:11.180 I think it's maybe 10%.

00:09:13.520 Actually, it's 5.8%.

00:09:17.500 As you can see, they couldn't even meet their own target of 6.6%.

00:09:21.500 But look at that.

00:09:22.660 Their target for next year is even more laughable.

00:09:25.520 4.9% they expect, they aim, they're working hard to lose about one-fifth of their viewers in the next 12 months.

00:09:33.180 That's their stretch goal.

00:09:34.640 Remember, they failed to meet their goal this year, as you can see.

00:09:38.000 So their goal is to lose viewers.

00:09:40.400 It's probably going to be far worse.

00:09:41.560 But how about news?

00:09:43.920 And this gives me great hope.

00:09:45.540 The CBC is full of government journalists pushing Trudeau's propaganda.

00:09:50.600 So what percent of Canadians are watching CBC News?

00:09:54.800 By the way, I should tell you, it is legally required by the CRTC regulator to have the CBC News on every cable package in the country.

00:10:04.240 Did you know that?

00:10:05.580 You legally cannot escape it.

00:10:08.160 It is forced onto every basic cable package in Canada.

00:10:12.040 So what percent of the audience do you think watches CBC News?

00:10:16.020 Do you think it's 20%?

00:10:18.580 Do you think it's 10%?

00:10:21.280 Do you think it's 5.8% like the primetime shows?

00:10:25.680 No, look at that.

00:10:27.120 2.1%.

00:10:29.260 That is 1 out of 50 Canadians.

00:10:32.360 If you walk down the street and go for a good long walk and you meet a person, let's say, every minute, you wouldn't be walking for nearly an hour before you bumped into someone who watched CBC News last night.

00:10:47.220 The first 49 out of 50 people you meet on the street, they wouldn't watch it, but I guess they'd still have to pay for it, right?

00:10:54.240 And look at that, their official target for next year, I love this, this is their big plan, is for that number to fall from 2.1% to 1.8%.

00:11:03.960 1.8%, that is a rounding error, that is lower than the number of people who believe in the Loch Ness Monster or Sasquatch.

00:11:13.140 But doesn't that make you feel a little bit better?

00:11:16.440 I mean, sure, you're still spending 1.5 billion tax dollars a year on this, I get it.

00:11:23.160 But literally, nobody, or at least 98% of people are not even watching CBC News.

00:11:33.400 Hey, the one area where the CBC truly excels, though, is in being racist.

00:11:41.240 Sorry to say it, but that's the only word that fits.

00:11:44.160 Take a look at this.

00:11:46.100 You and I see people, right?

00:11:48.540 The CBC, though, as a propaganda arm for cultural Marxism, as Trudeau's errand voice, they see people as identity tokens.

00:11:56.960 This race, that sex, that sexual orientation, that religion, irrelevant things like that. 0.89

00:12:02.180 They don't judge people on the content of their character.

00:12:05.420 So their official goal, as you can see here, is for 42% minority hires.

00:12:10.760 And they beat that.

00:12:11.800 Hooray! 0.97

00:12:12.240 The only thing they could beat in their plan, they hired 44.5% minorities. 0.98

00:12:18.000 Almost 50% of all new hires are minority.

00:12:21.320 It's pretty much the only thing that they're good at, according to their annual report, except, sorry, it's racism on the face of it.

00:12:28.080 And racism is racism. 0.77

00:12:29.680 If you're judging people based on race, I'm sorry, you're a racist.

00:12:33.140 And if you're counting, which the CBC is, Canada is about 25% visible minority these days.

00:12:42.340 So they are positively discriminating against millions of people who are not minorities.

00:12:47.980 But you knew that already.

00:12:50.700 Hey, it reminds me of this crazy story.

00:12:52.380 Did you see this one?

00:12:53.480 Take a look at this.

00:12:54.500 Career conference for females in tech was taken over by male attendees.

00:12:58.980 They were there just purely for the career fair.

00:13:02.120 Social media clips filmed at the Grace Hopper, the world's largest gathering of women technologists, show men standing in line to meet with recruiters.

00:13:10.340 This is a space for women in tech. 1.00

00:13:14.000 This is one of those few limited resources that isn't for you.

00:13:18.900 It's for us.

00:13:19.580 Some of the male attendees reportedly lied about being non-binary just to get in.

00:13:24.000 But it's interesting that the large majority of the people that actually ended up in the event had name tags with he, him and have no searchable history of identifying as non-binary.

00:13:34.800 Several tech workers defended the men for trying to capitalize on job opportunities not meant for them, saying that the entire concept was wrong.

00:13:42.440 Let's be honest, there is no need for a conference just for women, because if it was the opposite just for men, then it would be sexist.

00:13:48.880 Just because you are a woman doesn't give you the right to talk to a big firm recruiter. 1.00

00:13:53.000 Guys work just as hard, and they don't get that chance.

00:13:56.620 Did you catch that?

00:13:58.600 It was an all-female job fair for computer science. 0.98

00:14:03.380 You know, Google, Amazon, whatever. 0.91

00:14:05.040 But it was overrun by men pretending to be trans men. 0.59

00:14:11.920 But aren't all trans or trans women, whatever.

00:14:15.100 But aren't they all pretending, really?

00:14:17.560 I saw this about the University of Toronto.

00:14:20.400 Caught my eye the other day.

00:14:22.640 The U of T will provide free tuition to people from nine different Indian bands.

00:14:30.400 Wow.

00:14:31.640 What do you think that incentive will give people to do?

00:14:34.300 You are about to see thousands of Elizabeth Warrens.

00:14:39.180 You know who I'm talking about, that U.S. senator who faked being Aboriginal. 0.97

00:14:44.840 You are going to have thousands of students discovering they are 164th Indigenous to get that free stuff. 0.97

00:14:53.360 What a world, eh?

00:14:55.120 They probably won't learn much at university, but it'll certainly be enough to work for the CBC.

00:15:02.620 Stay with us for more.

00:15:04.300 Stay with us for more.

00:15:14.980 Drea Humphrey here with Rebel News, where we're not afraid to bring you the other side of the story,

00:15:19.920 to the politically driven narrative that is,

00:15:22.880 if one does not affirm all things labeled as a trans right,

00:15:27.340 that automatically makes them some sort of hateful bigot.

00:15:29.960 That's why when we learned about an event that would be hosted by Canadian journalist and women's rights activist Megan Murphy called Vancouver Island Speaks Out,

00:15:39.200 we knew we'd better be there to cover it for you and be your eyes and ears.

00:15:43.800 Murphy, alongside activist and researcher Bryony Dixon and Jenea Wright,

00:15:48.320 a mother who caught a male dressed like a woman peeping under her daughter's change room stall in the Nanaimo Aquatic Center earlier this year,

00:15:56.620 sat on a panel at the event for the discussion about gender identity ideology, women's spaces, and parental rights.

00:16:03.780 The conversation was emceed by former Chilliwack and Hope MLA Gwen Mahoney,

00:16:09.260 and all tickets for the event ended up selling out.

00:16:12.460 Despite such public interest, the original venue for the event canceled on the woman-led talk after pushback 0.99

00:16:18.220 from cancel culture mobsters who also deemed the talk as hateful.

00:16:22.480 At the stroke of midnight, the good folks who volunteer their time to manage Ladysmith BC's Salterre Community Center

00:16:29.360 allowed the event to relocate to their hall.

00:16:32.320 So on Sunday, I hopped on a ferry, which by the way costs way too much these days,

00:16:37.100 and checked into a modest hotel and then met up with two bodyguards

00:16:40.780 who were by my side the entire time I brought you the coverage from this event.

00:16:46.680 So if you appreciate that Rebel News goes too far lengths to bring you reports like the one you're watching,

00:16:51.700 consider helping us right now recruit some of those costs.

00:16:55.200 You can grab another device or open up another tab and go to our special website called journalistdefensefund.com.

00:17:02.000 That's where you can chip in to help us cover the security costs that we incurred for this event

00:17:07.520 and also to keep Rebels safe in the future.

00:17:10.780 I'm a female. I have a vagina. I'm going to sit on a toilet. 1.00

00:17:13.760 Who cares if I have f***ing short hair? 0.99

00:17:15.980 Who cares if I sleep with women or love women or marry women? 1.00

00:17:20.060 I'm marrying one. 0.99

00:17:21.700 Like, who f***ing cares? It's none of your business what I do, how I live. 0.97

00:17:25.580 I'm not f***ing hurting you. 0.74

00:17:27.120 I'm not grooming your kids. 0.86

00:17:28.420 I'm giving my kids a safe space to be who they are.

00:17:31.660 And you are trying to stop that.

00:17:34.080 So I and we are trying to stop them.

00:17:37.440 You can't shut us up.

00:17:39.200 I think it's really important to support children's rights.

00:17:42.720 Children have rights just like their parents.

00:17:44.660 All right.

00:17:45.540 And your sign says, inclusion is protection.

00:17:50.380 Okay.

00:17:50.920 So inclusion of who?

00:17:52.040 I didn't make the sign.

00:17:53.260 Okay.

00:17:53.580 I accumulated it.

00:17:55.040 All right.

00:17:55.340 All right.

00:17:56.000 And so what do you think about this event isn't considering the kids properly?

00:18:02.120 Because they're pushing their own agenda.

00:18:04.280 Who is pushing it?

00:18:06.200 The anti-SOGI.

00:18:08.420 Okay.

00:18:08.940 And what about SOGI is not for the children if you're against it?

00:18:13.100 I don't have any comments on that.

00:18:15.240 I was that kid that could have used SOGI in school.

00:18:18.280 I was that kid that tried to kill myself a bunch of times because I was surrounded by this.

00:18:23.540 By what?

00:18:24.060 What is that?

00:18:24.700 By what's going on in there.

00:18:25.800 The hate rhetoric.

00:18:26.440 I know I'm being sucked in, you guys.

00:18:27.480 I'm sorry.

00:18:28.320 This isn't a trap. 0.91

00:18:29.220 This anti-SOGI bullshit, they haven't, every time we try to offer an explanation and a description 0.97

00:18:35.360 of the actual curriculum, like grade by grade, nope, I don't want to hear that. 1.00

00:18:40.520 I don't want to hear that, that bullshit. 0.99

00:18:42.380 We listened to theirs. 1.00

00:18:43.660 We tried to come in and they sent us elsewhere.

00:18:46.340 Like we had people wanting to hear the other side and they literally lied and said, go here.

00:18:51.640 This is where it's happening, but we're too smart.

00:18:54.260 But I can tell you, I've covered SOGI.

00:18:56.160 I can actually look it up myself.

00:18:57.140 Are you aware of them?

00:18:58.400 I think we should stop.

00:19:00.440 Just to clarify one thing.

00:19:01.740 You don't want me to show, but I know what SOGI 123 is, but when I told you one of the

00:19:09.000 main concerns these parents have, you're saying you don't want to see the evidence of those

00:19:14.160 books being in BC schools or across the Canada.

00:19:17.180 She said that she would give you her information.

00:19:19.280 Sorry.

00:19:20.000 Your fiance said, I think you should stop here.

00:19:22.620 I think she should stop talking to you.

00:19:25.860 Can you tell us about your shirt?

00:19:27.260 My shirt is that you can assume my gender.

00:19:30.600 That's what I prefer you to do.

00:19:32.120 Is that okay?

00:19:33.260 I just want to know what your take is on it.

00:19:35.780 It means you can just assume whatever you want to call me is fine.

00:19:39.140 Totally fine.

00:19:40.080 Yeah.

00:19:40.920 And you can buy it at rebelnewsstore.com.

00:19:43.540 Let's take a look at some of what happened inside and outside of the event, starting with protesters

00:19:48.700 who are champions for the controversial SOGI 123, a sexual orientation and gender identity

00:19:55.860 curriculum that many parents are concerned about because among other things, it's paved

00:20:01.000 the way for books with sexually explicit images like the ones you're seeing on the screen being

00:20:06.320 normalized in schools across Western Canada.

00:20:09.600 And you're going to see the moment when for once, when an olive branch was extended to the trans rights

00:20:16.500 activists, they actually took the organizers up on that offer.

00:20:22.180 Take a look.

00:20:23.100 We don't want the hate.

00:20:43.640 And what is the hate at this event?

00:20:46.760 The speech that they're about to have in there is all hate.

00:20:51.740 Give me an example of how you know that.

00:20:54.100 I'm not going to give you an example of that.

00:20:56.320 They also invited us to come in, but without cameras and only two of us, which is obviously

00:21:01.680 not safe for us.

00:21:03.820 And at that time, they did say it was not a paid event, that it has been canceled, but

00:21:09.780 they are checking tickets at the doors.

00:21:13.640 Trish can stay here if she wants. 1.00

00:21:16.960 Yeah, Trish can stay here if she wants. 1.00

00:21:18.140 She's being peaceful protesting.

00:21:19.400 We're conversing.

00:21:20.000 Okay.

00:21:20.660 Can you let the cop know that?

00:21:22.040 Yeah, yeah, yeah.

00:21:23.180 Show me which one.

00:21:27.140 So were you expecting that, that it's okay for you to be here?

00:21:31.120 It's all right.

00:21:32.340 It's all right?

00:21:33.340 Or did you think it would be more hateful, like, get out of here, Trish?

00:21:36.460 No.

00:21:37.340 No?

00:21:37.880 I didn't expect that at all.

00:21:39.300 How are you?

00:21:40.140 Yeah, I'm glad you're here.

00:21:40.900 How long is your event going till?

00:21:42.300 It's going till 9, so it should be starting any minute.

00:21:44.860 We just need it clear here so people can come through.

00:21:48.020 If the protesters can stay out here, that would be great, with the exception of Trish and

00:21:52.280 her friends.

00:21:53.700 We've talked to them.

00:21:55.260 Anybody going in?

00:21:55.880 But, yeah, she's cool over there.

00:21:57.360 Are they in the Q&A room?

00:21:58.580 Yeah.

00:21:58.680 We just wanted to know, because this olive branch has been extended, although I'm not

00:22:09.300 very trusting of it.

00:22:10.440 Walking into a room full of people that I have seen online spewing is not super comfortable

00:22:16.400 to me, but is this something that you guys, maybe not you guys, but maybe somebody from

00:22:21.300 your community would be interested in, having a panel where there's both sides to have a

00:22:25.780 conversation?

00:22:27.400 Correct.

00:22:27.720 We've been trying to do that since 2016, and no one will join the panel.

00:22:41.500 Media has tried to host, you know, conversations with me and trans activists.

00:22:47.160 People have tried to set up debates.

00:22:49.040 People have tried to set up panels that shared both sides of the issues.

00:22:52.300 And the other side is always, I really appreciate you coming in and speaking to us a lot, because

00:22:58.440 that's, you know, it's not very common that that happens.

00:23:01.980 But, yeah, I think that, yeah, I mean, I think that if the conversation could happen, that

00:23:08.240 would be great.

00:23:08.800 I know Serena would love that also.

00:23:10.680 And if you don't invite us in to have a conversation, the conversation cannot be had.

00:23:15.280 I understand that you think now allowing a conversation is being radical.

00:23:20.240 It's not.

00:23:20.980 You've denied our existence.

00:23:22.680 You've denied our conversation.

00:23:23.980 We haven't denied anyone's existence, and we did invite you in.

00:23:27.200 First off, you're interrupting us for once.

00:23:29.380 First off, you're interrupting me.

00:23:31.360 Yeah, I do that.

00:23:34.520 We did actually have a no mask policy in general for everybody.

00:23:38.060 Everybody.

00:23:38.740 There was a no mask policy for safety.

00:23:40.360 We've obviously let that happen.

00:23:41.500 We're in danger.

00:23:42.440 Good thing.

00:23:43.520 So only your rules, and that's what you're saying.

00:23:45.260 In this case.

00:23:46.300 Yep.

00:23:46.480 In this case.

00:23:47.240 Thank you.

00:23:47.660 So people are getting close to it.

00:23:48.820 Thank you for the whole thing. 0.89

00:23:50.980 Gender identity is a regressive, sexist, nonsense ideology that claims the impossible. 1.00

00:24:00.280 That individuals can change sex through self-declaration. 0.95

00:24:04.440 That it's possible to be born in the wrong body.

00:24:07.160 That if a girl or a woman sees a man in their change room, and that man says he's a woman,

00:24:12.080 he has the right to be there, and the danger is in fact the girl or the woman who feels unsafe.

00:24:18.900 This is what our government is protecting.

00:24:20.900 This is what our unions are protecting.

00:24:22.900 This is what our public institutions are protecting.

00:24:25.720 The right of predatorial men to access spaces where girls and women are vulnerable.

00:24:29.720 I was totally inspired by everyone who came out.

00:24:34.540 It's really hard to come to these events.

00:24:36.540 I wish that it weren't.

00:24:37.540 It seems silly to me that it's so scary and so risky just to come to an event to have a conversation

00:24:46.380 about things that are really important to everyone.

00:24:48.200 You know, women's rights, kids, families, parental rights, reality. 1.00

00:24:53.480 You know, and this is a quietly held opinion, I'd say.

00:24:56.380 As I got older and I realised you had to be more politically correct, especially in arts

00:25:03.400 and culture circles where this is, you know, a lot of people bought into it, hook, line

00:25:08.600 and sinker, I will say.

00:25:09.920 I'm growing increasingly uncomfortable with the fact that I'm living in a place where

00:25:14.980 you can't talk freely anymore about serious issues, child safeguarding, women safeguarding.

00:25:20.640 Um, and I'd been working at the Fringe and watching how that is not, um, espousing the

00:25:27.760 values that it once had for free expression.

00:25:30.100 And this is one of those subjects, right?

00:25:31.600 So, um, I'd been speaking on it because it's my own sex-based rights.

00:25:35.880 That evening, I escorted her into the change room and a individual wearing a, yeah, yeah,

00:25:49.140 a man wearing a wig, six foot two, something between his legs, and it was a man.

00:26:00.820 Um, came in the change room and loyered around the change room, didn't have any towel or bag

00:26:08.120 or any indication that he was going to use the pool facility.

00:26:11.700 You caught a person who identifies as a woman looking underneath the change room.

00:26:16.840 Um, what was going through your mind? Just a quick recap.

00:26:19.800 I actually don't know.

00:26:20.980 I think that I blanked out and I went into full protection mode of my child in that moment.

00:26:26.620 And yet there are people who were here today outside who believe it was hateful.

00:26:30.760 One even named you, believes it's hate that you're spreading.

00:26:33.840 And, and Jenea Wright in there is touting or talking about how there was zero aggression 1.00

00:26:39.360 on their side.

00:26:40.280 The aggression and violence was on them.

00:26:42.900 This has nothing to do with the transgender community for myself.

00:26:45.860 Um, this has to do with a predator that is appropriating transgender identity to gain access 0.79

00:26:51.200 to children.

00:26:51.660 And I would love it if the transgender community would stand with us, with us as parents, because

00:26:56.380 it would also protect their, um, you know, their name in all this.

00:27:00.840 Because the thing is, is these predators that are doing these things are, are making people

00:27:06.980 hate their community when that should not be a thing.

00:27:10.120 And that's not something that I personally, um, am trying to represent at all.

00:27:14.760 This is about a predator that looked under the stall at my daughter and the fact that

00:27:18.780 anybody can self ID.

00:27:20.080 How is denying the safety of trans women, safety for all of humanity?

00:27:25.220 Great question.

00:27:26.400 Thank you.

00:27:27.700 Thank you.

00:27:31.120 Um, I mean, I don't think anyone is denying the safety of men.

00:27:37.080 Um, I think that what we're talking about is the safety of women and girls and children

00:27:42.460 in particular.

00:27:43.320 And so there are certain spaces that are single sex spaces for a reason, because women and 1.00

00:27:49.960 girls are vulnerable in those spaces. 1.00

00:27:51.360 So, change rooms, transition houses, shelters, prisons, bathrooms.

00:27:57.760 Um, and, I, I mean, I'm frustrated that I even have to explain why men aren't allowed in those 0.89

00:28:04.500 spaces, but I think that we, trans women are men.

00:28:08.560 I've never done an event ever addressing the issue of gender identity, ideology that hasn't

00:28:21.980 been protested, where there haven't been threats, where we haven't needed security and the cops.

00:28:27.860 It is really dangerous, and I'm scared every time I do these events, for good reason.

00:28:33.460 Um, we were attacked, I talked to you about this earlier, in San Francisco, like a gang 1.00

00:28:38.740 of Antifa men chased us down, it was terrifying.

00:28:42.280 Um, these people threaten us with real violence and do sometimes perpetrate real violence.

00:28:47.540 We lost our first venue because the business owners were terrified that this would be business

00:28:53.280 suicide in their words.

00:28:54.740 I think we talk a lot about safe spaces, um, and this is one of my big concerns, how words

00:29:00.900 have become, um, deemed by a lot of people to be now harmful or, uh, violent or, um, aggressive

00:29:08.500 in some way.

00:29:09.300 And, um, I, I understand why, um, the people outside have that fear, because I can't blame

00:29:16.500 them having been conditioned to believe that a lot of people hate them, which I don't think

00:29:21.380 is the case.

00:29:21.940 I think algorithms push that messaging, I think the media pushes that messaging, um, and our

00:29:27.960 institutions do as well.

00:29:29.040 I watched it this week with a million person march.

00:29:31.500 Um, so I understand why they're fearful, uh, and so it is a big deal when they come in

00:29:36.080 and speak to us about it.

00:29:37.640 And, but then I'm hoping that they feel like, uh, they can have a voice and we also deserve

00:29:43.060 to have a voice.

00:29:43.740 I've received, uh, plenty of hateful messages, um, people bombarding me online, people saying

00:29:50.220 that I'm some hateful individual, plastering my name, my picture, um, my business, uh, my

00:29:55.900 business name all over the internet when they don't even know what I'm standing for.

00:29:59.240 I never once have said anything negative about transgender, about their community.

00:30:02.920 This, to me, again, was a predator that appropriated the transgender identity to gain access to 1.00

00:30:09.160 my child.

00:30:09.980 This was my child this happened to. 0.92

00:30:12.460 A pervert looked under the stall at my little girl. 1.00

00:30:16.060 Like, if people can't wrap their brains around that, it actually, it boggles my mind.

00:30:21.440 Um, my business has actually not suffered because more people are supporting me because I am speaking

00:30:26.660 out on this and I'm going to continue to speak out on it because I just want safety for children.

00:30:30.500 Well, that's the show for today.

00:30:50.060 What do you think of that annual report?

00:30:51.700 I should write an annual report for Rebel News.

00:30:54.380 I used to do that, but then I got so busy during the pandemic.

00:30:57.360 I haven't done that in a while, but I'd like to, I'd like to give you, give you the, the

00:31:00.440 stats, the highlights of our last year.

00:31:02.560 We've done so many things.

00:31:04.660 I don't even know where I start, but I should probably do an annual report.

00:31:09.040 And unlike the CBCs, I wouldn't be faking it.

00:31:12.300 That's our show for today.

00:31:13.620 Until next time, on behalf of all of us here at Rebel World Headquarters, to you at home,

00:31:17.460 good night and keep fighting for freedom.

00:31:19.860 The...

00:31:23.240 We'll be right back.

00:31:38.600 We'll be right back.

00:31:41.580 We'll be right back.

00:31:43.800 We'll be right back.

00:31:46.040 Here we go.

00:31:46.660 We'll be right back.

00:31:47.880 We'll be right back.
