00:00:00.000 Tonight, Kamala Harris wants to give black men $20,000 each, but only if they're black
00:00:21.540 and only if they're men.
00:00:22.800 It's October 18th, and this is The Ezra LeVant Show.
00:00:25.640 I think Kamala Harris is getting pretty desperate.
00:00:43.520 How else do you explain this announcement that she made on Twitter?
00:00:48.680 It's her black man policy.
00:00:52.060 She says, black men deserve a president who cares about making their lives better.
00:00:57.820 I'll go through those points in a minute, but first, the obvious.
00:01:01.420 She's been in power for three years, almost four years.
00:01:05.400 Is she saying that the US government has not, does not care about black men now or for the
00:01:10.640 past three years?
00:01:11.640 How exactly do you run on new promises and new ideas if you get power when you're not
00:01:18.040 doing those things right now when you have power?
00:01:21.500 It's a trick Trudeau uses when something absolutely falls apart.
00:01:25.520 He sort of positions himself as an outside commentator, like a third party observer at
00:01:30.520 arm's length as opposed to the guy who caused the problem.
00:01:33.680 Gee, somebody really ought to do something about this problem.
00:01:37.480 We really all have some learning to do here.
00:01:41.180 People just don't buy it.
00:01:42.940 And it looks awful when Trudeau does it.
00:01:45.240 And it looks awful on Kamala Harris.
00:01:46.720 But I mean, really, what would you say?
00:01:48.980 Everything's going fine in America right now, inflation, open borders, immigration, foreign
00:01:54.080 wars.
00:01:55.080 Here's what she said.
00:01:56.080 If anything, would you have done something differently than President Biden during the past four years?
00:02:02.480 There is not a thing that comes to mind in terms of and I've been a part of most of the
00:02:10.120 decisions that have had impact.
00:02:13.480 The work that we have done, for example, capping the cost of insulin at $35 a month for our seniors
00:02:18.620 is something I care deeply about, about allowing Medicare to negotiate drug prices and bring
00:02:24.700 the cost of prescription medication down for seniors.
00:02:27.720 But my intention is to expand that for all Americans.
00:02:31.300 The work we have done to invest in American industries, whether it be in terms of manufacturing
00:02:36.840 and creating almost 800,000 new jobs around manufacturing, those are all a shared priority.
00:02:43.300 Yikes.
00:02:44.300 I mean, she's not that articulate at the best of times.
00:02:47.300 Did you see this clip?
00:02:48.300 So when we think about what's at stake in this election, whoa, it's packed with some stuff.
00:02:55.300 It's packed with some fundamental stuff.
00:03:01.300 I say rather articulately.
00:03:07.300 That cackle.
00:03:08.300 That cackle, it's either Joker-like cackle, which is like terrifying.
00:03:14.300 So, so fake, which she tries to call showing joy.
00:03:18.300 She tried to rename her cackle.
00:03:20.300 Oh, that's just me being joyful.
00:03:22.300 It's either the cackle or the scolding.
00:03:26.360 She scolds people about everything.
00:03:29.360 Here she is scolding people for saying Merry Christmas.
00:03:32.440 And when we all sing happy tunes and sing Merry Christmas and wish each other Merry Christmas,
00:03:38.900 these children are not going to have a Merry Christmas.
00:03:43.040 How dare we speak Merry Christmas?
00:03:45.040 How dare we?
00:03:46.040 Here she is scolding people about Christopher Columbus, the greatest explorer.
00:03:51.040 It is an honor, of course, to be with you this week as we celebrate Indigenous People's Day,
00:03:58.040 as we speak truth about our nation's history.
00:04:02.040 Since 1934, every October, the United States has recognized the voyage of the European explorers
00:04:12.040 who first landed on the shores of the Americas.
00:04:16.040 But that is not the whole story.
00:04:19.040 That has never been the whole story.
00:04:23.040 Those explorers ushered in a wave of devastation for tribal nations,
00:04:29.040 perpetrating violence, stealing land, and spreading disease.
00:04:35.040 We must not shy away from this shameful past, and we must shed light on it
00:04:43.040 and do everything we can to address the impact of the past on Native communities today.
00:04:51.040 Scolding, hectoring, berating, or sometimes just weird.
00:04:56.040 And, you know, we have to stay woke.
00:04:59.040 Like, everybody needs to be woke.
00:05:02.040 And you can talk about if you're the wokest or woker, but just stay more woke than less woke.
00:05:09.040 Yeah.
00:05:10.040 Here's a compilation of Kamala Harris debating Mike Pence in the 2016 vice presidential debates.
00:05:18.040 Does the word scolding come to mind?
00:05:20.040 The president wanted people to remain calm.
00:05:23.040 Well, let's go ahead.
00:05:25.040 No, but Susan, this is important.
00:05:26.040 Susan, I have to weigh in here.
00:05:27.040 And I want to add, Mr. Vice President, I'm speaking.
00:05:29.040 I have to weigh in.
00:05:30.040 I'm speaking.
00:05:31.040 Yeah, we can.
00:05:32.040 Let's talk about PAC in the court, then.
00:05:33.040 Let's talk about the PAC.
00:05:34.040 Please.
00:05:35.040 Yeah, I'm about to.
00:05:36.040 $400,000 a year.
00:05:37.040 He said he's going to repeal the Trump tax cuts.
00:05:39.040 Mr. Vice President, I'm speaking.
00:05:40.040 Well, wait.
00:05:41.040 I'm speaking.
00:05:42.040 It'd be important if you said the truth.
00:05:44.040 If you don't mind letting me finish, we can then have a conversation.
00:05:48.040 Okay?
00:05:49.040 There's something to that tone.
00:05:51.040 I think every henpecked husband recognizes it.
00:05:54.040 I mean, it was a debate, by the way.
00:05:56.040 You're supposed to have a back and forth.
00:05:58.040 Now, I acknowledge it's probably tough being a woman in politics,
00:06:01.040 but it's also tough being a man in politics.
00:06:04.040 Tough in different ways.
00:06:05.040 By the way, Margaret Thatcher was very popular with male voters.
00:06:10.040 The success of many women in politics suggests that, in general,
00:06:14.040 Americans and Canadians are not sexist.
00:06:17.040 They care about substance.
00:06:19.040 Kamala Harris comes across as empty and inauthentic.
00:06:23.040 She changes her accent depending on who she's talking to.
00:06:30.040 Hello to all my divine nine brothers and sisters.
00:06:35.040 And my sorority.
00:06:39.040 As though it is a sign of weakness.
00:06:43.040 To have empathy.
00:06:45.040 In the Senate, well, it was late into the night.
00:06:48.040 And in the Senate, you walk onto the Senate floor,
00:06:52.040 and there are these big, wooden, ornate doors.
00:06:55.040 Let's just get through the next 64 days.
00:06:57.040 How about that?
00:07:00.040 You know, the one thing about all of us is we like hard work.
00:07:04.040 Hard work is good work.
00:07:06.040 Hard work is good work.
00:07:07.040 Have, you know, empathy man.
00:07:10.040 Yes.
00:07:11.040 No.
00:07:12.040 For the suffering of other people.
00:07:15.040 I love you back.
00:07:18.040 You know, Trump says she's not black.
00:07:21.040 She's East Indian.
00:07:22.040 Of course, she's half black and half Indian.
00:07:25.040 But his point is that she claims to be someone new,
00:07:28.040 depending on who she's talking to at that moment.
00:07:31.040 It's the fakeness.
00:07:32.040 She's been a firearms banner her whole life, for example.
00:07:37.040 And now she says she's a proud Glock owner.
00:07:40.040 You recently surprised people when you said that you are a gun owner.
00:07:45.040 And then if someone came into your house...
00:07:47.040 That was not the first time I've talked about it.
00:07:49.040 They would get shot.
00:07:50.040 That's not the first time I've talked about it.
00:07:51.040 So what kind of gun do you own?
00:07:52.040 And when and why did you get it?
00:07:54.040 I have a Glock.
00:07:56.040 And, um, I've had it for quite some time.
00:07:59.040 And, um, I mean, look, Bill, my background is in law enforcement.
00:08:04.040 And, um, so there you go.
00:08:07.040 Have you ever fired it?
00:08:09.040 Yes.
00:08:10.040 Of course I have.
00:08:12.040 At a shooting range.
00:08:14.040 Yes, of course I have.
00:08:15.040 Yeah, I mean, then again, her running mate doesn't really know anything about guns either, does he?
00:08:20.040 It's quite right.
00:08:21.040 No, it's quite right.
00:08:22.040 It's not quite right.
00:08:23.040 How do you give it back?
00:08:25.040 Governor, what kind of gun is it?
00:08:27.040 This is a Beretta A400.
00:08:29.040 I brought, I bought it when I was shooting a lot of, uh, trap.
00:08:33.040 Because it has a kind of their patented thing, a kickoff.
00:08:36.040 So when you get old, it doesn't hurt your shoulder as much.
00:08:40.040 Let's not get into Tim Walz right now.
00:08:42.040 In some ways she's even worse.
00:08:44.040 The cackle and the fakeness and the scolding.
00:08:49.040 Look, personality matters.
00:08:50.040 A lot of people don't like Trump's personality, but holy moly.
00:08:54.040 I don't think there's any men of any race that find Kamala Harris appealing,
00:08:59.040 especially given how empty she is on policy, when all she has is personality.
00:09:04.040 She's not warm.
00:09:05.040 She's not trustworthy.
00:09:06.040 She's not persuasive.
00:09:08.040 She has a real gender gap, not just amongst men,
00:09:12.040 but even amongst black men.
00:09:15.040 They won't support her.
00:09:17.040 Personally, I think it's the nagging, scolding tone, plus the cackle.
00:09:22.040 You know, they had to wheel out Barack Obama to do some scolding to black men to support the scolding black woman.
00:09:29.040 Did you see this?
00:09:30.040 We had not yet seen the same kinds of energy and turnout in all quarters of our neighborhoods and communities as we saw when I was running.
00:09:45.040 Now, I also want to say that that seems to be more pronounced with the brothers.
00:09:55.040 So if you don't mind, just for a second, I'm going to speak to y'all.
00:09:58.040 And say that when you have a choice that is this clear,
00:10:10.040 when on the one hand you have somebody who grew up like you, knows you, went to college with you,
00:10:25.040 understands the struggles and pain and joy that comes from those experiences.
00:10:37.040 You have to work harder and do more and overcome.
00:10:46.040 I just don't think that's working.
00:10:49.040 I saw they rolled out a Men for Harris ad.
00:10:52.040 I didn't think it was real.
00:10:54.040 It's the least masculine thing I've ever seen.
00:10:57.040 It seemed so fake.
00:10:58.040 I thought it was like an A.I. attempt to guess what men are like.
00:11:02.040 I thought it was maybe even a Saturday Night Live sketch.
00:11:04.040 Take a look at this.
00:11:06.040 I'm a man.
00:11:07.040 I'm a man.
00:11:08.040 I'm a man, man.
00:11:09.040 And I'm man enough.
00:11:10.040 I'm man enough to enjoy a barrel-proof bourbon.
00:11:13.040 Neat.
00:11:14.040 Man enough to cook my steak rare.
00:11:15.040 Man enough to deadlift 500 and braid the out of my daughter's hair.
00:11:19.040 You think I'm afraid to rebuild a carburetor?
00:11:21.040 I eat carburetors for breakfast.
00:11:23.040 I ain't afraid of bears.
00:11:24.040 That's what bear hugs are for.
00:11:25.040 I'll tell you another thing I sure as I'm not afraid of.
00:11:28.040 Women.
00:11:29.040 I'm not afraid of women.
00:11:31.040 I'm not afraid of women.
00:11:32.040 They want to control their bodies?
00:11:34.040 I say go for it.
00:11:35.040 They want to use IVF to start a family?
00:11:37.040 I'm not afraid of families.
00:11:38.040 They want to be childless cat ladies?
00:11:40.040 Have all the cats you want.
00:11:41.040 A woman wants to be president?
00:11:42.040 Well, I hope she has the guts to look me right in the eye and accept my full-throated endorsement.
00:11:47.040 Because I'm man enough to support women.
00:11:48.040 Man enough to know what kind of donuts I like.
00:11:51.040 Man enough to admit I'm lost even when I refuse to ask for directions.
00:11:54.040 Man enough to not ban young women from reading little women.
00:11:58.040 Or one of those pants books that the sisters like.
00:12:00.040 I'm man enough to raw dog a flight.
00:12:02.040 It sucked.
00:12:03.040 Not worth it.
00:12:04.040 I'm man enough to be emotional in front of my wife.
00:12:07.040 In front of my kids.
00:12:08.040 In front of my horse.
00:12:10.040 I'm man enough to tell you that I cry at love actually.
00:12:13.040 Goodwill hunting.
00:12:14.040 West Side Story.
00:12:15.040 Fat.
00:12:16.040 And predator.
00:12:17.040 And I'm sick of so-called men domineering, belittling, and controlling women just so they can feel more powerful.
00:12:22.040 That's not how my mama raised me.
00:12:24.040 I love women.
00:12:25.040 I love women who support their families.
00:12:27.040 Women who decide not to have families.
00:12:29.040 Women who take charge.
00:12:30.040 And I'm man enough to help them win.
00:12:32.040 I didn't think that was real.
00:12:37.040 That is real.
00:12:39.040 So yeah.
00:12:40.040 They got a problem.
00:12:42.040 Men just don't like Kamala Harris.
00:12:45.040 And black men especially.
00:12:48.040 I saw a bit of that when I was doing Streeters last week in Venice Beach, LA.
00:12:53.040 And when I was with Avi in San Francisco.
00:12:56.040 How many black men and even black women said they're voting for Trump.
00:13:00.040 I was genuinely surprised.
00:13:02.040 In California of all places.
00:13:04.040 Black men make up about 7% of the U.S. population.
00:13:08.040 So that number falls by a couple of percent.
00:13:11.040 Well that's enough to make a difference in some very close battleground states where there's a big black population.
00:13:18.040 And where those places used to be counted on for 90% plus votes for the Democrats.
00:13:24.040 I'm talking about places with urban areas like Philadelphia in Pennsylvania or Detroit in Michigan.
00:13:32.040 If you have black men voting for Trump.
00:13:35.040 Even if only 20% of all black men vote for Trump.
00:13:38.040 That's still one and a half percent in the polls that's going to move over.
00:13:41.040 That is enough to tip a close race.
00:13:43.040 You don't think Michigan's going to be within 1.4% moving off the Democrats to the Republicans.
00:13:50.040 It's like a 3% shift.
00:13:52.040 That's what happens if just 20% of black men vote for Kamala Harris.
00:13:56.040 Vote for Donald Trump.
00:13:58.040 So here's how they plan to solve it.
00:14:00.040 That's what's behind this announcement.
00:14:02.040 It's as cringe worthy as that men for Kamala ad.
00:14:06.040 Let's take a look at it again.
00:14:07.040 I showed it to you very briefly.
00:14:09.040 Kamala Harris will create an opportunity agenda for black men.
00:14:13.040 I mean I just doubt it.
00:14:15.040 I don't think anyone believes that the Democrats let alone the most left wing Democrat.
00:14:19.040 Who's ever run for president.
00:14:21.040 Is going to create opportunities.
00:14:23.040 It's just inauthentic.
00:14:24.040 You could believe Donald Trump would.
00:14:26.040 I mean he's an entrepreneur.
00:14:28.040 You could believe someone like Elon Musk would.
00:14:30.040 If he would have run for office.
00:14:31.040 But Kamala Harris really.
00:14:32.040 Lifeline politician.
00:14:33.040 I mean really.
00:14:34.040 What is she good at other than scolding and cackling.
00:14:38.040 But look at her list of items.
00:14:40.040 Provide 1 million loans that are fully forgivable.
00:14:44.040 Up to $20,000 for black entrepreneurs and others to start a business.
00:14:51.040 Okay well a $20,000 forgivable loan is just an outright gift.
00:14:55.040 That's just free money right.
00:14:57.040 And to do so on a racial basis.
00:15:00.040 It's outrageous and it's surely unconstitutional.
00:15:03.040 It's also financially insane.
00:15:06.040 It's really a fancy way of announcing black reparations I think.
00:15:10.040 Except just think it through for a moment.
00:15:14.040 Who is black?
00:15:16.040 Is Kamala Harris black?
00:15:17.040 Well she's half black or a little bit less than half.
00:15:21.040 Barack Obama is also half black.
00:15:23.040 So do they get $20,000 or just $10,000?
00:15:29.040 What about someone like Rachel Dolezal or Sean King.
00:15:33.040 White folks who pretend to be black.
00:15:35.040 They say they're black.
00:15:36.040 They really believe it.
00:15:38.040 Are they black enough to get the cash?
00:15:40.040 I mean back during slavery times.
00:15:42.040 They had various legal tests in the southern slave states.
00:15:46.040 Because you had to be able to enforce different laws for different races.
00:15:50.040 It's a terrible thing.
00:15:51.040 They had to invent classifications.
00:15:54.040 I don't even want to say the words.
00:15:55.040 But words like mulatto, quadroon, octoroon.
00:16:00.040 Have you heard those awful words?
00:16:02.040 I just hate even saying those words.
00:16:04.040 It feels like those words themselves are derogatory swears.
00:16:08.040 But you can see they refer to the percentage of white or black blood in your body.
00:16:13.040 Others had the one drop rule.
00:16:15.040 This is all dark stuff when you get into the racism business.
00:16:19.040 I mean Hitler had similar rules for Jews.
00:16:22.040 He used the word mixling.
00:16:25.040 Mixling first degree.
00:16:27.040 Mixling second degree.
00:16:28.040 He would call them.
00:16:29.040 I mean if you had one Jewish grandparent.
00:16:32.040 You wouldn't be killed by the Nazis.
00:16:35.040 But you sure couldn't join an elite force in their military for example.
00:16:38.040 South Africa had to do the same thing.
00:16:40.040 Because if you have different rights and privileges based on race.
00:16:43.040 You got to be able to measure race.
00:16:45.040 Right?
00:16:46.040 Is Kamala Harris really going to bring back a race test?
00:16:49.040 And will people who immigrate to America in 2024.
00:16:54.040 If you're a black person from Africa.
00:16:57.040 Who comes to America in 2024.
00:16:59.040 You got nothing to do with any history in America.
00:17:03.040 Are you still able to get this reparations?
00:17:05.040 Or will it be restricted to foundational black Americans.
00:17:09.040 The descendants of slaves.
00:17:11.040 Who gets the cash?
00:17:12.040 Can someone land at the airport and say I'm here for my money?
00:17:15.040 I mean these are all terrible awful questions.
00:17:18.040 But Harris says she's going to pay black men 20 grand a pop.
00:17:22.040 So everyone's going to try to get some of that cash.
00:17:25.040 Wouldn't you?
00:17:26.040 Including women of course.
00:17:28.040 I mean I haven't seen the Democrat.
00:17:30.040 A single Democrat answer the question.
00:17:33.040 What is a woman?
00:17:34.040 Accurately in about five years.
00:17:36.040 So can trans men get the cash too?
00:17:39.040 Can a woman who identifies as a man.
00:17:43.040 Maybe God forbid gets the surgery.
00:17:45.040 Can they get the cash too?
00:17:47.040 You never know.
00:17:48.040 You got to ask these questions when it's a Democrat.
00:17:50.040 There are a few other nutty things on the list by the way.
00:17:52.040 I mean what does this even mean?
00:17:54.040 I'm reading from her list again.
00:17:56.040 Protect cryptocurrency investments.
00:17:58.040 So black men who make them know their money is safe.
00:18:02.040 What?
00:18:03.040 What does that mean?
00:18:04.040 So if you buy crypto like Bitcoin.
00:18:07.040 You'll be safe.
00:18:09.040 Okay.
00:18:10.040 Okay.
00:18:11.040 Safe.
00:18:12.040 Safe from what?
00:18:13.040 One of the risks of buying cryptocurrency is.
00:18:15.040 Because it's typically not backed by anything.
00:18:18.040 It could be like a stock that plunges in value.
00:18:22.040 Is that what you're going to be saying?
00:18:24.040 I think that's the number one risk for cryptocurrency.
00:18:26.040 It's going to fall in value.
00:18:28.040 How do you protect against that?
00:18:30.040 How are you going to be safe from that?
00:18:32.040 And how will this apply to black men.
00:18:35.040 As opposed to white men or black women.
00:18:37.040 Will other races and sexes be safe too?
00:18:41.040 Does this imply that black men aren't sophisticated enough.
00:18:44.040 Or responsible enough to mind their own business.
00:18:47.040 And that Kamala Harris has to come in.
00:18:49.040 Tell them what to do.
00:18:50.040 And on that last one on the list.
00:18:53.040 Legalize recreational marijuana.
00:18:55.040 And create opportunities for black Americans.
00:18:58.040 To succeed in this new industry.
00:19:00.040 You know I just got back from spending the day.
00:19:04.040 In San Francisco with Avi.
00:19:06.040 It's the same in Vancouver.
00:19:07.040 Same in Toronto.
00:19:08.040 Same in cities all across the West.
00:19:10.040 It's shocking to see.
00:19:14.040 Where we spent much of the day in something called the Tenderloin District.
00:19:18.040 It was my observation that the black community is disproportionately victimized by drug addiction.
00:19:26.040 And the social harms that come from it.
00:19:28.040 Theft.
00:19:29.040 Homelessness.
00:19:30.040 Violence.
00:19:31.040 Unemployment.
00:19:32.040 Why would you.
00:19:33.040 Why are you saying that black men want legal pot?
00:19:38.040 Why are you singling them out for this?
00:19:41.040 I think the black community has been hit harder than just about any other community by fentanyl.
00:19:47.040 Did your.
00:19:48.040 Did your.
00:19:49.040 Did your men for Harris focus group.
00:19:51.040 Tell you to do these crazy things.
00:19:53.040 Hey.
00:19:54.040 Can you do me a favor.
00:19:56.040 Never ever ever for the rest of your life.
00:20:00.040 Let a Democrat in the United States.
00:20:02.040 Or a liberal in Canada.
00:20:04.040 Or a journalist for that matter.
00:20:06.040 Ever.
00:20:07.040 Get away with calling anybody else.
00:20:10.040 Racist.
00:20:11.040 They are the racist.
00:20:12.040 And sexist ones.
00:20:13.040 And they're proud of it.
00:20:15.040 And if I were a black man.
00:20:17.040 I would be embarrassed.
00:20:19.040 That someone thought so little of me.
00:20:21.040 That they believe this list of pandering.
00:20:24.040 Half-baked ideas was all it took.
00:20:27.040 To keep me as a loyal voting machine.
00:20:30.040 For the Democrats.
00:20:31.040 Stay with me for more.
00:20:34.040 More.
00:20:36.040 It's been eight days on the road.
00:20:41.040 You guys look a little bit road weary.
00:20:43.040 A little bit tired yeah.
00:20:44.040 But I think.
00:20:45.040 He's done most of the work.
00:20:46.040 Actually.
00:20:47.040 Lenin.
00:20:48.040 You've been driving this rig.
00:20:49.040 For.
00:20:50.040 Thousands of miles.
00:20:51.040 How.
00:20:52.040 Much does it cost to fill up a tank.
00:20:55.040 We're about to find out.
00:20:56.040 Because this is our first fill up.
00:20:58.040 Uh.
00:20:59.040 How much does it cost to fill up a tank.
00:21:00.040 We're about to find out because this is our first fill-up outside the communist state of California
00:21:06.160 where gas prices were anywhere between $5 and $6 a gallon.
00:21:11.180 This is the first time we've seen anything sub-$4, $3.47 a gallon.
00:21:18.440 Of course, that's American, so that's probably $5.25 a liter.
00:21:22.920 We're probably down to about $1.10 a liter now.
00:21:26.240 But in California, $2 a liter, easily Canadian.
00:21:30.420 So it's kind of nice to finally be in a place where we can fill up
00:21:33.960 and not worrying about giving all the money to Gavin Newsom.
00:21:37.500 And still afford lunch.
00:21:39.160 And still afford lunch.
00:21:40.360 I haven't seen any roadkill in a while, so we might actually have to, I don't know.
00:21:45.560 How's his cooking?
00:21:47.660 We saw that one clip of him cooking up Bird.
00:21:50.160 I assume he was joking when he said it was roadkill.
00:21:52.360 I mean, the guy knows his way around the kitchen, but is it just like the same two meals every day?
00:21:57.780 I don't want to inflate his egos.
00:21:59.340 Actually, he's not bad.
00:22:00.760 He's not bad.
00:22:01.440 I would like to go on record as saying the first five days I cooked, Lincoln's stomach 100% fine.
00:22:09.440 We have one day on the road, so we had to do a jack-in-the-box, and I forget what the first place was.
00:22:16.000 Chick-fil-A was pretty good.
00:22:17.100 Chick-fil-A.
00:22:17.240 One day of fast food, poor Lincoln's stomach got upset.
00:22:22.680 Well, I appreciate the fact that you guys are doing a lot of home cooking.
00:22:26.180 You're staying in the RV as your hotel.
00:22:29.400 If we were to go town by town, and if we were paying for a hotel and restaurant meals every time,
00:22:35.340 this cross-America trip would be, I hate to say it, it would be $30,000, $40,000.
00:22:40.220 It just would be.
00:22:41.220 So I really appreciate the fact that you guys are being economical, because that's how it is when you do citizen journalism.
00:22:47.600 You've got to watch the pennies.
00:22:49.380 It's wild, and we're in America, so whether it's Canadians or Australians, it's the dollars, hearts.
00:22:54.900 Even just what we're doing is super expensive.
00:22:57.080 You know, we're taking the RV.
00:22:58.360 We're staying at an RV park.
00:22:59.640 RV parks are themselves about $50 to $100 a night just to plug in the RV and be able to work from the RV, have a bit of water, whatever.
00:23:08.020 But, yeah, like you said, it would cost a whole lot more if we stayed in hotels.
00:23:15.140 Just about to fill up at $100, that would have been an easy $200, $225 fill.
00:23:21.120 And what I'm excited about is this is the first time I'll have a full tank of gas all trip.
00:23:26.020 He's been really trying to save the money, and he's only put in enough to get us to the next gas station.
00:23:31.460 We've been living on edge, but well fed.
00:23:34.480 Or maybe $100 is all they'll give us in one fill.
00:23:37.000 Who knows?
00:23:37.600 Yeah, you know how I told you why I've only been filling up so cheaply in California?
00:23:43.640 This same $350 gas in Vegas, we paid as much as $6 in California just in taxes.
00:23:50.460 So we're going to see what a fill-up in Vegas cost.
00:23:53.080 We're just about out.
00:23:54.520 How's the driving been?
00:23:56.000 I mean, this is a pretty big rig.
00:23:58.400 How's it handling on the road?
00:23:59.940 Are you doing okay?
00:24:00.680 I saw you got into a spot of bother when you were off-roading with this thing near the Mexican border.
00:24:07.280 Other than that dramatic moment, how's it been?
00:24:11.200 The RVs that Cruise America makes are absolutely fantastic.
00:24:16.740 They put a big Ford F-350 on the front.
00:24:21.280 I call that the tractor.
00:24:22.480 That's maybe not language that our viewers are familiar with.
00:24:25.540 But when you're driving a truck, the front part's called the tractor.
00:24:28.340 Then you've got your load on the back.
00:24:29.640 So the tractor's got great power.
00:24:31.720 I won't even pretend to tell you how many Vs it has.
00:24:34.140 If it's a V12 or V8 or who knows, I'm embarrassing myself now.
00:24:37.880 But it's got great power on the road.
00:24:40.240 We spend a lot of our time in the left lane.
00:24:42.500 Poor Lincoln is white-knuckling it when I'm going 85 miles an hour and passing other trucks.
00:24:48.160 But you've got to do that when you've got to get to the stories on time.
00:24:51.260 We've only had a few scary moments.
00:24:53.000 That's all I can say.
00:24:53.980 There's only been a few old man moments where we missed a couple of turns,
00:24:58.720 where we quickly had to take him.
00:25:01.320 We got lost yesterday.
00:25:02.720 For the record, I just want to say that the camera did no favors
00:25:07.000 to what actually went down in that moment off-road.
00:25:10.740 Because what happened was we realized that the sand was really...
00:25:15.620 It was really fine sand.
00:25:18.120 So we were almost, you know, the old man drowning in two inches of water.
00:25:22.440 We almost got stuck in three inches of sand because it was so soft.
00:25:26.220 Put it in reverse for a little more power.
00:25:28.800 Got out of there.
00:25:29.440 But we still had to cross this ravine and rail track.
00:25:32.300 And the truck did amazing.
00:25:34.580 We couldn't reverse physically.
00:25:36.960 We didn't think we were going to be able to go forward.
00:25:38.800 But that's why if you listen to the audio, you hear our shock at his ability,
00:25:43.140 which I'm still trying to work out whether it was more of a fluke
00:25:46.460 or it was we've just got the best RV driver in town.
00:25:50.520 We'll find out by the end of this trip, I reckon.
00:25:53.200 Well, I'm grateful for you guys doing it.
00:25:54.640 I mean, it looks like a lot of fun, but it's also a lot of work.
00:25:57.740 You're all away from your home.
00:25:59.040 You're away from your families.
00:26:00.300 I mean, a trip across America sounds great to everyone.
00:26:05.120 But when you're doing it, I mean, you're in close quarters.
00:26:07.400 So I really appreciate you guys doing it.
00:26:09.780 And I think you're seeing America on the ground, which is different than seeing it from 40,000 feet.
00:26:16.040 Like all these pundits in New York, Washington, you know, there is a story there.
00:26:21.160 But there's also the under news, what's happening under that national discussion.
00:26:26.980 Do you think that there's something cooking in America that the big wigs in the NBC, ABC regime, legacy media are missing?
00:26:35.380 Like, are you detecting any movement, for example?
00:26:38.240 I think a lot of people we've spoken to just from city to city.
00:26:41.800 Some of them were, you know, voted Democrat before, but they just realized that things have gotten worse.
00:26:45.960 So the general mood that I get, if that's anything to go by, the mood of the average person seems to have shifted to a pro-Trump,
00:26:54.020 even if they don't want to admit it, especially not on camera.
00:26:57.640 The ones that are locked into Harris were ideologues that are, you're never going to change their mind anyway.
00:27:04.760 But who knows?
00:27:05.960 Because even every, like, the one thing that's consistent, everybody says they don't know.
00:27:11.240 Whether they want Trump to win or lose, they just, they go, I don't know.
00:27:14.700 Whether they believe it's going to be absolutely fair, that's their belief, their questioning,
00:27:20.400 or whether they just, they haven't got it right.
00:27:25.000 They're just, because of the, because obviously the way the American system works is not by the,
00:27:29.880 it's by the electoral vote.
00:27:31.120 So people just here are too scared to call it.
00:27:34.840 I suppose in California, it almost doesn't matter.
00:27:37.380 That state's going to go Democrat no matter what.
00:27:39.780 Nevada, a bit of a battleground state.
00:27:42.260 You guys are going to be going to other battleground states.
00:27:45.320 Do you think there's a shy voter phenomenon?
00:27:47.800 That is, people who say, damn it, I'm voting for Trump.
00:27:50.180 I'm sick of this.
00:27:50.900 But I'm not going to say it out loud because that's uncool.
00:27:54.480 And a whole bunch of people are saying that, thinking the other guy's not going to be fine with it.
00:27:59.140 But when they're in the secrecy of the voting booth,
00:28:02.320 they're going to mark their vote for Trump.
00:28:04.040 Do you think that's happening?
00:28:04.780 I think there's definitely elements of that.
00:28:06.780 But I also found that there seemed to be a bit of a confident Trump vote in California that we picked up on.
00:28:15.200 And sure, there is that shyness.
00:28:17.840 But I really feel that it is moving towards Trump.
00:28:23.460 If you can find Trump...
00:28:24.400 Even in California, it was like that.
00:28:25.880 I was surprised by that.
00:28:27.520 There were those that were proud to say it, didn't care.
00:28:30.160 There were a lot of people that, you know, wouldn't tell us who they're voting for.
00:28:34.560 But then as soon as you kind of broke down what policies mattered to them,
00:28:38.840 it was clear that they were supporting Trump.
00:28:42.160 They just didn't want to say it out loud.
00:28:44.060 And then there was obviously what I expected from California, which was your Democrats.
00:28:51.020 I feel like California is a beautiful state.
00:28:55.300 The people there care dearly about their state.
00:28:59.340 And everything they've done up to here has been wrong.
00:29:03.000 And I think that they're slowly starting to realize that, be it the minimum wage, be it the taxes, be it the green energy, be it the immigration.
00:29:10.140 All these things that they thought were what they were doing to make their state great.
00:29:15.120 They're realizing that it's actually had the complete opposite effect.
00:29:18.100 And people are starting to wise up to that.
00:29:20.500 And it's like a laboratory of Kamala Harris's bad ideas.
00:29:24.340 And, I mean, sometimes when I travel to places like the U.K., I say it's a dystopian time machine.
00:29:30.360 I can see five years into the future on mass immigration, for example.
00:29:35.060 I think California is the bad ideas laboratory for America.
00:29:39.100 And that's absolutely where Kamala Harris gets.
00:29:42.440 That's her base.
00:29:43.440 That's her ideas.
00:29:45.140 That's her team.
00:29:47.000 So all the things you just listed about what's going wrong in California, that will be the national story if, God forbid, she wins.
00:29:54.660 But we're here in Vegas, which is a tourist town as much as anything.
00:29:58.680 It'll be fun to get some streeters tonight.
00:30:00.280 You're going to hit the Vegas Strip and talk to folks.
00:30:04.440 What kind of things are you going to ask them?
00:30:05.680 I haven't thought about that yet.
00:30:07.260 What we do is I kind of hit the city and I think about what's kind of the angle for this.
00:30:12.500 What's special about this?
00:30:13.820 You know, last time we were in Hollywood, it was more about celebrities and the celebrities' impact and input into politics.
00:30:18.540 And we ran into a bunch of interesting stories that unfolded in front of us.
00:30:21.820 I'm expecting here this is a swing state.
00:30:25.380 So I think we're going to focus more on that to get a real feel for what locals are here.
00:30:31.000 But obviously, I don't know who we're going to bump into.
00:30:32.840 Is it going to be just tourists?
00:30:33.780 And so we'll just have to wait and see and you'll have to join us.
00:30:37.600 All right.
00:30:38.060 There you have it.
00:30:38.900 The lads have been on the road for more than a week.
00:30:41.380 It's tough being on the road every day.
00:30:43.140 I'm grateful to them.
00:30:44.720 And it's our sort of way a couple of years later to get into the trucker vibe.
00:30:49.340 Not only do we have the RV on the roads, but up in Canada, we have the Rebel News billboard truck.
00:30:55.100 I wish we had both of these rigs two and a half years ago when that trucker convoy was going to Ottawa.
00:31:00.900 You know we would have been there.
00:31:01.980 We were embedded with the trucker convoy.
00:31:04.600 We covered the heck out of it.
00:31:06.180 Now we're actually living the dream.
00:31:08.420 All right.
00:31:08.920 To follow these guys, go to aviacrossamerica.com.
00:31:12.760 And if you can help in to pay for gas by chipping in at our crowdfunding, I'd be grateful to you.
00:31:17.540 Thanks.
00:31:17.800 So, Lyndon, it looks like that gas pump maxed out at $100 exactly.
00:31:23.160 It didn't surprise me.
00:31:24.180 A big rig like this would take more than $100 for the gas.
00:31:26.640 How much gas did $100 put in the tank?
00:31:29.220 In Vegas, $100 got us five-eighths of a tank.
00:31:32.660 In California, $100 would get us about a little over a quarter of a tank.
00:31:39.380 So it would be about $175 to fill this thing up in Vegas and almost double that in California.
00:31:45.100 Exactly.
00:31:45.900 All right.
00:31:46.180 Thanks.
00:31:47.800 Abhi and the team are going across America.
00:32:02.760 You can follow it at aviacrossamerica.com.
00:32:05.400 They're doing citizen journalism.
00:32:07.260 And one of the tools to be a citizen journalist, especially if you're going on the highway, is you need your own Internet.
00:32:13.420 Tell me about that white panel.
00:32:15.180 It's like an 11 by 17 sheet of paper.
00:32:17.800 But it's not paper.
00:32:18.940 It's an antenna.
00:32:19.840 It's just there on the gravel next to the RV.
00:32:22.300 What is that?
00:32:23.200 Tell me about it and how you've been using it.
00:32:25.200 It's unbelievable.
00:32:26.140 You think about the modern-day technology, Ezra.
00:32:28.600 We're able to go anywhere and literally pan this, I guess, satellite plate out.
00:32:34.160 And we've got Internet at speeds of 100 to 150 download megabits per second.
00:32:41.340 That's an enormous amount.
00:32:43.300 Like, that is so fast.
00:32:44.880 Some of these campgrounds have Wi-Fi, but it's wobbly.
00:32:49.300 It's iffy.
00:32:50.840 I first discovered Starlink when we sent a team to Maui right after the wildfires.
00:32:56.240 There was no Internet there at all.
00:32:58.120 And we set it up and we gave it to the whole apartment block we were in.
00:33:01.720 It was a bit of a different system.
00:33:02.940 And that one sort of looked around for the satellite.
00:33:05.260 This one, you just plunk it down and go, eh?
00:33:07.400 Yeah.
00:33:07.760 And, yeah, it's that easy.
00:33:09.340 It's that quick.
00:33:10.120 And it just gives you the flexibility.
00:33:12.080 I've been to places with you where we've had to hunt for Wi-Fi or find reception on your mobile device.
00:33:19.400 And buy local Internet.
00:33:20.760 Get your mobile device to a place where there is reception.
00:33:23.460 We're going so remote with this thing that in many places there is no Internet.
00:33:29.160 My phone doesn't have Internet.
00:33:30.880 But that hasn't let us down yet.
00:33:33.180 You know, it's funny you say that because I was just thinking a few weeks ago I went to a rally in support of Twitter or X in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
00:33:43.620 There were 200,000 people there and everyone was using their cell phone.
00:33:47.800 Guess what that did to the download and upload speeds?
00:33:50.580 You couldn't tweet any videos.
00:33:52.860 It was so frustrating because you had 200,000 people sharing their cell phone system.
00:33:57.940 If we would have had a Starlink, we could have got our stuff up there so quick.
00:34:02.420 We could have shared it with friends around us.
00:34:04.260 But even if it was just us, we could have done so many times.
00:34:08.360 We get great footage, but we can't get it up.
00:34:12.140 Can't get it up?
00:34:12.920 That sounds funny.
00:34:13.640 Until we go to some Internet cafe or something, this solves the problem if you can't get it up.
00:34:19.560 Thank you, Elon, for helping Rebels get it up all around the world.
00:34:23.540 But no, seriously, it is a lifesaver, but it's not cheap.
00:34:27.680 I don't even know.
00:34:28.460 I'm not on that side of the business.
00:34:29.420 What I do know is that I want to thank all the viewers out there that are helping at RVacrossamerica.com.
00:34:34.640 Help cover all the costs, including the RV, the park.
00:34:38.420 You know, every single night we've got to pay for the power from the park, use their facilities.
00:34:42.960 It's not a cheap exercise, and one of those things is the styling.
00:34:46.780 I think it was probably about $500 from memory.
00:34:50.560 Is that right?
00:34:50.960 You buy it, and then there's a fee to use it.
00:34:53.340 But it's not that much more than a regular Internet system.
00:34:58.060 But the key is it works anywhere.
00:35:00.100 We proved that in Maui after the wildfires, and it just, especially when you're in the video business, when you're sending big megabytes and gigabytes, you need this.
00:35:11.740 You can't imagine if you just were relying on campground Wi-Fi.
00:35:15.800 It's just not going to, it's going to be rickety.
00:35:19.000 This is a tool for citizen journalism.
00:35:21.140 This is a tool for citizen journalism.
00:35:23.580 And believe it or not, that RV is a tool for citizen journalism.
00:35:27.360 I really believe, Avi, that by going on the ground, doing streeters with severely normal people, you're going to get a better pulse of the nation than if you were in Washington or New York in a studio on the 50th floor of some tower in Manhattan.
00:35:42.280 And this is what you need.
00:35:44.940 You don't need, you know, I used to work for Sun News Network.
00:35:48.460 We had quarter million dollar cameras.
00:35:51.380 That's insane.
00:35:52.240 We had million dollar studios.
00:35:54.160 You don't need that.
00:35:55.460 The news isn't happening in a studio.
00:35:57.500 It's happening on the street.
00:35:59.240 And that's why I'm excited you're on this Cross America mission.
00:36:01.880 I just want to take the opportunity to thank all the viewers again for making it happen.
00:36:06.200 RVacrossamerica.com.
00:36:07.220 And Elon, also, you've got to think about it's two levels because it's obviously getting the data across to the guys in the office and on the Internet in general and on X itself.
00:36:17.440 So we know we're finally safe.
00:36:19.140 So he's actually, in a way, he's ensuring citizen journalists like us at Rebel are able to do what we do by, one, being able to upload the data in real time, quickly, anywhere in the world, plus a platform where it's safe that no matter what anyone says to me on the street, I know they're not going to pull it down.
00:36:37.680 You know, the reason why Rebel News was demonetized back in 2017 is because we retweeted a Donald Trump tweet.
00:36:45.660 We didn't even retweet it.
00:36:46.960 We put it in a video and told the story about it.
00:36:50.100 YouTube demonetized us, costing us $1 million a year.
00:36:55.200 Brutal censorship.
00:36:56.680 Obviously, they're going to do that again in the 2024 election season.
00:37:00.500 That's why Twitter or X is so critical.
00:37:02.600 Your videos have gone super viral on Twitter because they're not being throttled.
00:37:07.680 I simply don't trust the regime media.
00:37:10.180 And by that, I mean big tech as well.
00:37:12.800 The crazy thing is we see all the enmity targeting Elon Musk and X, and we don't see it targeting Facebook, Instagram, TikTok.
00:37:22.860 Why?
00:37:23.820 Because they're compliant.
00:37:25.160 So by thinking of the opposite of what Elon Musk is doing, imagine complying with the censorship in Brazil.
00:37:33.640 Imagine complying with the censorship in Washington.
00:37:36.460 And I mean, you don't want to put all your hopes in one guy, but good Lord, he is the essential citizen.
00:37:43.660 Save Elon Musk.
00:37:44.600 Protect him at all costs.
00:37:47.860 Aviacrossamerica.com.
00:37:48.860 Guys, you can follow the whole journey all the way up until the election where we land in Mar-a-Lago.
00:37:54.140 Until then, we'll be with our Starlink, our X, our caravan, our power, and your help.
00:38:00.560 Aviacrossamerica.com.
00:38:01.740 Thanks, everybody.
00:38:02.580 Thanks, everybody.
