00:00:00.000 Hello, my friends. I'm going to do my best to make sense of the election result in the United
00:00:04.140 States yesterday. I just can't believe what happened in Texas. I don't know. I mean,
00:00:09.320 I used to think that was an impenetrable fortress, sort of like Alberta. But remember,
00:00:14.920 Alberta voted New Democrats once too. Before I get to today's show, let me invite you to become
00:00:20.280 a subscriber to Rebel News Plus. It's the video version of today's podcast. Just go to rebelnewsplus.com,
00:00:26.040 click subscribe. In addition to supporting Rebel News, you'll get great content that you can't
00:00:32.420 get anywhere else. And you know, we survive 100% based on our viewers. We take no government money
00:00:37.860 And it shows.
00:00:54.920 Tonight, Texas, Texas, elects a Democrat senator and a Democrat governor in the same night.
00:01:02.940 Donald Trump says it's not his fault because he wasn't on the ballot.
00:01:06.120 and Ron DeSantis calls it an extinction-level event.
00:01:10.420 It's November 4th, and this is the Ezra Levant Show.
00:01:13.300 You're fighting for freedom!
00:01:16.240 Shame on you, you censorious bug! 0.88
00:01:28.500 Oh, hi, everybody. 0.74
00:01:29.480 Let me give you the scoreboard first from the U.S. midterm elections,
00:01:33.220 then I'll do my best to tell you what I think it means,
00:01:35.560 especially for us here in Canada, the scoreboard is bad for Republicans, and I think that means
00:01:40.760 it's bad for freedom and for the Western world, including us. But I'm not even talking about
00:01:46.360 Donald Trump. I'm talking about everything. I'm talking about Western civilization. The Democrats
00:01:51.280 have the Senate, at least 54 seats, with Alaska and Mississippi still counting in the time I
00:01:57.340 record this. Seven seats flip. That's huge. Iowa, Ohio, Maine, Susan Collins gone after 30 years, 0.66
00:02:06.280 North Carolina, Kansas, South Carolina, and Texas. The House, NBC projects 258 Democrat seats.
00:02:14.800 Democrats haven't had a number that big since 1993, since before the Gingrich Revolution.
00:02:21.740 Mike Johnson has already told his staff he won't run again for Republican leader.
00:02:25.140 Hakeem Jeffries will be speaker in January. That is terrifying. The arch liberal Chuck Schumer says
00:02:32.240 he's going to build a legislative razor wire around Donald Trump. And then there's, like I say, Texas,
00:02:39.020 I can't believe it. James Tolerico, the 37-year-old Democrat state representative, beat Ken Paxton for
00:02:46.100 the Senate, and it wasn't even close, 55 to 43. The Associated Press called it at four minutes past
00:02:52.920 10. Paxton conceded it 20 minutes past. First Democrat to win a Senate seat in Texas since
00:02:59.180 1988. 32 years of Republican statewide victories over. This guy. I listened to 15 hours of testimony
00:03:09.180 on this bill. The worst part for me was the number of Christians who used scripture to justify 1.00
00:03:18.300 to justify hurting children. 0.98
00:03:22.300 Even on this floor today, a member tried to justify
00:03:26.300 a hateful amendment in the name of God's law.
00:03:30.300 So let's talk about that.
00:03:34.300 The first two lines of the Bible,
00:03:38.300 the first two lines in Genesis, use two different
00:03:42.300 Hebrew words to describe God.
00:03:46.300 The second is the feminine Hebrew noun for spirit.
00:03:53.300 God is both masculine and feminine and everything in between. 0.96
00:03:59.920 God is non-binary. 0.78
00:04:04.720 In Genesis 1.26, God speaks of God's self in the plural,
00:04:10.900 saying, let us make human beings in our image to be like us.
00:04:17.700 That's the infinite multitude of God, the masculine, the feminine, and everything in between.
00:04:27.920 Trans children are God's children, made in God's own image.
00:04:35.340 There's nothing wrong with them, nothing at all.
00:04:39.120 they are perfect they are beautiful and they are sacred and on the same ballot gina inahosa
00:04:48.740 knocked out greg abbott a three-term governor first democrat governor of texas since ann
00:04:55.180 richard you probably don't even remember who that is and this is in texas yeah it was the alamo for
00:05:01.480 american conservatism i can't even believe it and what did the president say on true social this
00:05:08.240 He congratulated the Democrats.
00:05:10.160 He told the New York Times he accepts the results.
00:05:12.620 And then he posted a picture of a hat.
00:05:14.320 It said, Veto.
00:05:15.880 A White House official told reporters the mood was defiant.
00:05:19.400 His exact words were, buckle up.
00:05:21.720 Now compare that to what Ron DeSantis said the morning, this morning actually, in Tallahassee, the Florida Capitol.
00:05:28.360 He wouldn't even call it a wave.
00:05:29.600 He said that wasn't accurate.
00:05:31.220 He called it the political equivalent of a meteor strike.
00:05:34.740 Blue states, red states, everything in between.
00:05:37.380 Let's just be clear about what happened last night. This is close to an extinction-level
00:05:44.120 event for Republicans in many parts of the country, as we have seen probably in the last
00:05:49.780 hundred years. In January, when everyone in office leaves who were either term-limited or
00:05:57.360 got voted out, of the 10 largest states in this union, only one state will have Republican control
00:06:06.040 of their state, the state of Florida.
00:06:09.180 And on Texas, he said something every conservative should hear.
00:06:11.680 He called Texas the crown jewel of Republican politics over his lifetime.
00:06:16.720 And then this.
00:06:17.720 Let's just be clear, that is going to hurt, not just for the next two years, that's something
00:06:22.160 that can reverberate for the next decade or more.
00:06:25.020 And if the Republican Party doesn't have Texas as an anchor, then we are not going to be
00:06:29.280 viable nationally going forward.
00:06:32.020 He says it's going to hurt not for two years, but for the next decade or more.
00:06:36.280 So that's the report.
00:06:37.500 Now, let me tell you why I think it happened.
00:06:39.780 In the exit polls, say 39% of people were worried about the economy.
00:06:44.340 33% said the state of democracy, whatever that means. 0.84
00:06:49.000 Immigration, 14%.
00:06:50.820 Now, I think this is sort of an irony because Trump was so successful in stopping illegal immigration, 0.55
00:06:57.540 it wasn't a high priority for people anymore because it's solved.
00:07:01.480 The border is closed. Fake refugees have been stopped.
00:07:05.780 So, ironically, Trump's great strength removed immigration as an issue.
00:07:12.400 But here's the number no one on CNN has come to dwell on tonight.
00:07:15.560 On immigration, voters still preferred the Republicans, 44 to 41.
00:07:21.320 The one issue where the GOP won the argument was the border.
00:07:24.300 Even though it's solved, enough people still care about it to say it was important.
00:07:28.560 But DeSantis said the same thing today, by the way.
00:07:31.160 Immigration was a factor in Texas and in South Florida, he said.
00:07:34.380 There's a lot of Latinos there, but it was not the driving factor.
00:07:37.860 The driving factor, he said, was gas prices and mortgage rates and grocery bills, cost-of-living stuff.
00:07:44.840 So the Republicans didn't lose because America decided it wanted open borders.
00:07:49.200 Although I think they're going to get it with the Democrats.
00:07:51.720 They lost on three things, the price of groceries, the tariffs, and the war with Iran.
00:07:57.940 J.D. Vance, the vice president who was Trump's point man on Iran, who went to negotiate with
00:08:03.100 Iran, said the real reason for the rout was anger over the Iran war.
00:08:09.840 The vice president of the United States, blaming his own administration's war for his own
00:08:13.420 party's defeat.
00:08:14.280 In his online post, he also named the cost of living, inflation, and his words, changing
00:08:20.520 the relationship with Israel.
00:08:22.180 I'll come back to that one because I think it's a cop-out, actually.
00:08:26.240 But DeSantis said it first.
00:08:27.580 He said the day before the vote, he called the Iran war a big, big drag on Republican candidates.
00:08:32.800 And he said this to his own party.
00:08:35.100 And some of these Republicans are saying, oh, well, the gas, don't worry.
00:08:38.680 You know, it's not a big deal.
00:08:39.620 Like, they're trying to blame Biden for it.
00:08:40.900 No, no, no.
00:08:41.220 Listen, we just got to be honest.
00:08:43.040 Gas is higher. 0.99
00:08:44.540 It hurts people, working class people. 0.94
00:08:47.040 And it's higher because of this conflict.
00:08:48.840 That's just a fact.
00:08:49.600 If you can't admit that to voters, then you're gaslighting them.
00:08:53.780 and they're not going to listen to you on other things.
00:08:55.700 The war started February 28th.
00:08:57.580 There was a ceasefire in April.
00:08:59.480 It fell apart.
00:09:00.720 The fighting resumed in July.
00:09:02.120 Oil went up, and the man who ran in 2024
00:09:04.500 as the president who would end wars
00:09:07.020 found himself nine months into a new one with no exit. 0.99
00:09:10.940 Now, I support knocking out Iran's nukes 1.00
00:09:13.380 and their ballistic missiles, 1.00
00:09:14.680 but a permanent American war,
00:09:16.940 the case wasn't made.
00:09:18.800 The plan wasn't described.
00:09:21.540 Now, here in Canada,
00:09:22.400 If you watched the CBC last night, you'd think Christmas came early.
00:09:25.600 The Democrats won.
00:09:27.060 Surely the tariffs come off now?
00:09:29.580 Pierre Paulyev said Americans hate tariffs and offered to work with Carney to leverage that.
00:09:34.080 And it's true. 0.89
00:09:34.960 The tariffs that the U.S. put on imports from Canada, they're paid by Americans.
00:09:40.260 Dominic LeBlanc said the results were interesting, but Ottawa's focus hasn't changed.
00:09:44.600 Now, the American, the Democrat, Hakeem Jeffries, says a bill to rescind the tariffs is a first-week priority in the new House.
00:09:51.660 great but let me show you that hat again any bill any bill that repeals the tariffs lands on trump's
00:09:59.760 desk and if you know the american system the president has a veto to override that veto the
00:10:05.760 democrats need two-thirds of both houses now they have 54 senators they would need 67 and i don't
00:10:12.640 think the math is there i'm not an expert here's the part that cbc left out though gavin newsom
00:10:18.260 The California governor, the man who I think will be the next Democrat candidate for president
00:10:24.840 that I think has a really good shot of winning, was asked directly by Canadian media
00:10:29.320 whether a Democrat president would take the tariffs off Canada.
00:10:32.780 He was asked this some months ago, and here's what he said.
00:10:36.080 I can't guarantee that.
00:10:38.620 Even the Globe and Mail ran an editorial under the headline,
00:10:41.140 the Democrats are not coming to save Canada.
00:10:43.760 When the Globe and Mail is telling liberals to stop dreaming, you know it's bad.
00:10:47.860 The steel and aluminum tariffs under Section 232 took full effect on June 8th.
00:10:52.380 The USMCA wasn't renewed at the July review.
00:10:55.480 It's now on year-to-year life support.
00:10:57.720 So nothing changed for Ken the last night.
00:11:00.180 Carney still has to negotiate with Trump for the next two years.
00:11:04.140 Who do you think he's negotiating with?
00:11:05.540 The executive branch is still in charge. 0.94
00:11:08.340 The only thing that changed is that Trump is now a lame duck with a veto hat and, I don't know, maybe a grudge? 0.79
00:11:15.780 Does that sound like a man who's about to get generous with Ottawa? 0.92
00:11:19.540 Now, AI, because something strange happened on Wall Street today.
00:11:23.160 The Dow was up 1,400 points.
00:11:25.400 Markets love gridlock, but the AI stocks went the other way.
00:11:29.640 NVIDIA down, Micron down, CoreWeave down, Oracle down, data center builders down as much as 24% on a day that the Standard & Poor's was up to.
00:11:38.640 So what was going on?
00:11:39.700 Well, I think Texas was part of it. 0.99
00:11:41.640 Gina Hinojosa, the new governor, wants an immediate moratorium on new data centers. 0.94
00:11:48.400 She's bought the Kool-Aid. 1.00
00:11:50.640 She's like a middle-aged Greta Thunberg.
00:11:53.980 And according to the bank Wells Fargo, 27% of every planned data center gigawatt in America is in Texas.
00:12:02.160 Goldman Sachs now expects Democrat governors in Texas, Georgia, and Michigan to freeze construction pending new laws.
00:12:10.180 Even SpaceX, Elon Musk's Texas company, dropped six percent.
00:12:14.600 I'm not surprised.
00:12:15.420 I think they're going to have a form of lawfare against him, too.
00:12:18.640 I think they're going to whip up all sorts of litigation, especially since he spent almost half a billion dollars in this election pushing back on them.
00:12:27.260 I think they want revenge on him.
00:12:30.180 So there's a sell-off in the single most important industry of the decade because people like Bernie Sanders and AOC and the rest of the socialists ran against it.
00:12:38.820 and they ran against power plants and against data centers
00:12:41.540 and against the thing that might actually let America keep ahead of China.
00:12:44.880 Think about who benefits from a slower American artificial intelligence buildup.
00:12:50.460 It's not Canada. It's not Taiwan. It's Beijing.
00:12:54.100 Which brings me to Michigan.
00:12:55.960 Abdul El-Sayed is the new senator, the first Muslim senator in America,
00:13:01.920 beat Mike Rogers, a former FBI agent, and Trump-backed Republican.
00:13:05.720 him. His victory speech early this morning in Detroit, he said, America should send no money
00:13:11.640 for, quote, apartheid or genocide or war. He said it should go to schools instead. AIPAC spent $42
00:13:19.580 million trying to stop them in the primary and the general election. He mocked them. Thanks for the
00:13:25.340 chance to beat you twice, he said. He also said, and I'm quoting, we can go from Inshallah to
00:13:32.420 al-amdulillah, which in Arabic means from if it pleases God to praise God. He's not hiding his
00:13:39.720 Islamic roots. Look at the pattern. A year ago tonight, New York City elected Zoran Mamdani as
00:13:45.560 mayor. Tonight, Michigan sends El-Sayed to the Senate. Both ran on Gaza. Both beat the Democrat
00:13:52.660 establishment first, then the Republicans. Both were outspent and won anyway. That's the new face
00:13:59.200 of the Democrats. That's where their energy is now. And they have 54 votes out of 100 in the
00:14:04.520 Senate. Every foreign aid bill, every arms sale to Israel, every resolution on the war, he gets
00:14:10.420 a vote. Which is why Israel is watching this more closely than Canada is. Netanyahu lost his
00:14:17.560 Knesset majority last month. Yair Lapid said this morning that the American results
00:14:22.340 eliminate any possibility of a unity government led by Netanyahu.
00:14:27.620 And remember J.D. Vance's post?
00:14:29.620 He listed the relationship with Israel as a reason why voters rejected his party.
00:14:34.920 I don't believe that.
00:14:35.780 I think the Iran war was unpopular and higher gas prices were unpopular,
00:14:39.780 but I don't believe that normal Americans have been infected with anti-Israel or anti-Jewish sentiment.
00:14:46.480 But J.D. Vance has always toyed with those ideas.
00:14:49.260 He's good buddies with Tucker Carlson, who has morphed into a full-time Jew basher.
00:14:54.520 I hate to say it.
00:14:55.300 He was a real role model for me for many years.
00:14:58.400 So both parties are now going to be tempted to put distance between Washington and Jerusalem.
00:15:03.980 The Democrats, because they're based, demands it.
00:15:07.540 The Republicans, because it just got a bloody nose and is looking for something to blame.
00:15:13.300 What about Taiwan, by the way?
00:15:14.940 Well, Taiwan put out the most careful statement of the day.
00:15:17.740 Taiwan, quote, continues to enjoy bipartisan support in Congress and will work with both
00:15:23.320 parties.
00:15:23.940 Translation, please don't forget about us.
00:15:26.760 Beijing, People's Republic of China, called it an internal affair of the United States,
00:15:31.840 which is what you say when you're pleased with things.
00:15:34.760 They always prefer Democrats to Republicans.
00:15:37.080 Any enemy of the U.S. does.
00:15:40.320 Now, Canadian conservatives, what's the lesson?
00:15:42.420 Is there one?
00:15:43.640 This is where I come back to Ron DeSantis.
00:15:45.280 Because there was exactly one state where that meteor didn't land.
00:15:50.320 His words, the one state that was able to hold the line and withstand that is right here in the free state of Florida.
00:15:58.440 Byron Donalds won the governorship.
00:16:00.420 Ashley Moody held Marco Rubio's old Senate seat.
00:16:04.120 And Amendment 3, DeSantis' property tax cut passed with 62%.
00:16:09.540 He's calling a special session to implement it by January 1st.
00:16:13.900 How did Florida survive? Here's DeSantis' answer.
00:16:18.380 A record, not a slogan.
00:16:20.380 Eight years of actually doing important things
00:16:23.360 and then a tax cut on the ballot the same day.
00:16:26.860 And he didn't stop at congratulating himself.
00:16:29.420 He went after his own side, actually,
00:16:32.480 on the House Republicans who voted against releasing the Epstein files, for example.
00:16:38.660 He said he'd seen the attack ads built on those votes.
00:16:41.420 He went after congressmen who trade stocks and somehow beat Wall Street every year.
00:16:47.400 He told the party its only road back is affordability and accountability.
00:16:52.400 And then the cold water.
00:16:53.800 He warned the Senate may not be winnable again until 2032.
00:16:58.060 And on the Supreme Court, that's the chance of confirming his successor to Clarence Thomas or Sam Alito during Trump's term.
00:17:04.440 He put the chances at zero now.
00:17:07.380 Zero.
00:17:07.740 The conservative legal project, the thing Republicans told evangelicals to vote for
00:17:12.180 in 2016 and 2024, and frankly, it was one of Trump's most important legacies.
00:17:17.820 Now it's frozen for at least two years, and if DeSantis is right, maybe six years.
00:17:23.480 So here's the lesson for American conservatives, I think, and it's not move left.
00:17:27.940 The border was the one issue they won.
00:17:30.920 The lesson is that voters punish you for wars and prices,
00:17:34.560 the two things Trump promised to fix and didn't.
00:17:37.740 The man who said he'd end wars started one.
00:17:40.480 The man who said he'd lower prices, put a tax on everything that crosses the border and called it a tariff.
00:17:45.920 And the governor who told the truth about it the day before the vote is the only one standing this morning.
00:17:50.120 For the rest of the world, Pedro Sanchez of Spain, I don't know if you saw that,
00:17:53.100 he said American voters rejected hatred, sexism, and climate change denial.
00:17:58.540 I'm not sure if they did, Pedro.
00:17:59.700 They rejected $4 gas and a war in the Gulf that they didn't quite understand.
00:18:05.960 And maybe they're just getting tired of a second-term president. It happens.
00:18:11.000 DeSantis said it well. This was a rejection of Republicans in Washington,
00:18:14.720 not an endorsement of the Democrats' agenda.
00:18:18.040 And every left-wing government from Madrid to Ottawa is going to claim it was a vindication anyways.
00:18:22.560 The Kremlin, meanwhile, said it hopes the results don't hurt Trump's peacemaking.
00:18:27.840 Make of that what you will, but there has been no peace in Ukraine and Russia for two years.
00:18:33.120 And finally, free speech, because this matters to us here at Rebel News, I think about it a fair bit, under Joe Biden, censorship was on the rise.
00:18:42.820 In fact, it was embedded right inside social media companies.
00:18:46.160 The government had the social media companies colonized to do their censorship outsourced.
00:18:52.900 These are the same Democrats who gave us the Disinformation Governance Board,
00:18:57.420 The same party whose White House, by Mark Zuckerberg's own letter to Congress, pressured Facebook to take down posts.
00:19:04.820 Same party that spent four years telling you misinformation was the greatest threat to democracy.
00:19:09.920 So that's where we are.
00:19:10.800 A lame duck president with a veto pen.
00:19:13.480 A Democrat Congress that can't override him.
00:19:16.260 A tariff wall that probably isn't coming down.
00:19:18.900 An AI industry that just got told to slow down. 1.00
00:19:22.180 A Senate caucus with a Gaza wing.
00:19:25.240 and Israel that's lost its majority at home
00:19:29.760 and its guarantee abroad, perhaps.
00:19:32.680 Taiwan asking very politely not to be forgotten
00:19:34.940 and one Republican governor in Tallahassee
00:19:37.600 saying out loud what the rest of his party hasn't yet.
00:19:40.840 The Democrats won big.
00:19:41.900 I don't think they won because America agrees with them.
00:19:43.960 I think they won because America was angry at the other guy.
00:19:47.480 I don't know. What do you think?
00:19:49.480 Did America turn left last night
00:19:51.460 or did it just turn away from Trump?
00:19:54.180 And does it change a single thing for you here in the price of what you bought this morning?
00:19:58.600 Let me know.
00:19:59.960 Stay with us for more.
00:20:09.340 Well, it just doesn't stop.
00:20:11.180 The attack on Jews and Jewish premises continues with an Arsten attack on a bakery in Montreal.
00:20:18.440 We have a couple of young reporters out there, including Anna Zorchinski, who joins us now by a Zoom from Montreal.
00:20:27.260 Anna, how are you?
00:20:28.560 I'm good. How are you?
00:20:29.840 I'm okay. I'm disturbed to hear that another Jewish facility has been torched.
00:20:34.100 Tell me about it. You went down there and you did some video.
00:20:36.620 Tell me a little bit and then show us some of the video.
00:20:39.920 Yes. So the Jewish business, Mimi Mellon, has been completely torched down by two arson attacks.
00:20:46.520 so we actually were able to go inside and the place is completely burnt down there's nothing
00:20:53.040 everything is melted the business owner that we were talking to the owner of Mimi Mellon
00:20:57.180 told us that this is her family business and it was just torched down by an arsonist
00:21:01.700 the policeman that I spoke to on the phone said that they are investigating whether this is a
00:21:07.480 hate crime attack or not it's been sent to the hate crime unit to check whether this is an
00:21:11.460 anti-Semitic targeted attack. The owner itself says that she feels as though this is targeted
00:21:16.300 and she's devastated. Well, I mean, I don't think that there's a war on bakeries. I think it's the
00:21:22.780 fact that it was a Jewish bakery. Here, let's take a look at your report. Anastasia Zerchinski here
00:21:27.620 for Rebel News. I'm on St. Louis Street in St. Laurent, Montreal, Quebec, in front of what's
00:21:32.480 left of Mimi Melon, a kosher bakery. It smells like smoke, it's hard to breathe inside, and
00:21:37.580 everything is covered in ashes at about 11 30 on monday night somebody tried to set this kosher
00:21:42.940 bakery on fire nothing caught but at 12 30 this morning it was set on fire again and by the time
00:21:50.140 firefighters got here it was already burning inside police say it was deliberate their
00:21:55.500 spokesperson calls this damage considerable the family that owns it calls it the complete loss
00:22:00.540 of our store thank god that nobody was hurt this is what the attacks we keep hearing about look
00:22:06.620 like in real life a whole family's livelihood employees salaries reduced to
00:22:11.860 a burnt-out storefront and after the first reported attempt on Monday night
00:22:16.240 there was another fire less than two days later what was done to protect this
00:22:20.780 business in between and how does something like this happen twice in less
00:22:24.740 than 48 hours just last Thursday night October 29th somebody fired at the
00:22:31.080 windows of Temple Emmanuel Beth Shalom in Westmount another Montreal Jewish
00:22:35.360 establishment targeted, police say most likely with a pellet gun. It was the third attack on
00:22:39.980 that synagogue in under two years, and now less than a week later, this arson attack against a
00:22:44.920 kosher bakery. It keeps happening. Think about it for a moment. A synagogue targeted three times,
00:22:50.940 a kosher bakery attacked twice in a matter of days. Jewish Montrealers should be able to pray,
00:22:56.420 work, shop, and gather in their own neighborhoods without having to wonder
00:23:00.280 whether their community will be targeted next.
00:23:03.500 Police have put their hate crime unit into this.
00:23:06.840 Spokesperson Jean-Pierre Bourbon says it's because the bakery was targeted twice,
00:23:11.340 another 48 hours, and has ties to the Jewish community in Saint-Laurent.
00:23:15.660 We took that report to send it to the hate crime unit of the Montreal police
00:23:19.660 so they could look at it too.
00:23:21.700 So we have the arson that's investigated by the arson squad
00:23:27.000 And the hate crime took the dossier too for that part because that business is related to the Jewish community.
00:23:33.760 So we want to make sure that we're not missing anything here.
00:23:37.760 Investigators are going through surveillance cameras.
00:23:40.220 I was able to interview the owner of the kosher bakery.
00:23:43.060 Here's what she told us.
00:23:44.840 My name is Jenny. I'm the owner of Mimi Mellon.
00:23:48.060 I've been the owner of Mimi Mellon since 2015, so it's been 11 years we're here.
00:23:52.640 partners with my father-in-law Marco and my husband Jonathan this is our family business
00:23:59.440 and now it's gone so describe what happened here we're not entirely sure it was
00:24:08.700 clear it was a suspect that was very intent on getting in he tried Monday night he did not
00:24:16.660 succeed. I had a very good alarm system and he was prevented from being able to get in. He tried
00:24:23.900 to do some damage but it was very minimal and then he actually succeeded yesterday. He went
00:24:30.920 through a different route, he pushed the door more and he was able to get in and I'm guessing he
00:24:37.220 threw maybe Molotov bottles. I don't know what he did but the damage is, it's a total loss. There's
00:24:42.320 nothing to save. It's completely gone. It's full. We've never had any issues with anybody. We don't
00:24:46.780 have enemies that we know of. It's just, it's disheartening. It's worrisome. It's scary. And
00:24:55.040 we just don't even know where to start wrapping our minds around this,
00:24:59.620 how to start, where to go with this, what to do with this. Just desperate. We have been
00:25:06.080 threatened before there has been people driving by screaming free palestine yelling at things
00:25:12.980 specifically to us there was a person that came um in between the jewish holidays around the 22nd
00:25:19.500 of september i think right after yom kippur he opened the door he screamed all the jews will
00:25:25.360 burn and he ran away but because he didn't come in there was not enough footage on my camera to
00:25:31.460 recognize we just saw like the cap and he was wearing a keffia the scarf and there was no it
00:25:38.060 was not somebody recognizable by the time i came out from behind the counter to go chase he was
00:25:43.760 gone i couldn't even see where he disappeared to so either there was an accomplice waiting or he
00:25:48.840 ran across to the park i don't know and we deal with this relatively regularly here so it's it
00:25:57.580 happens, little spurts of things, graffiti being done, windows being shattered. But never, ever
00:26:04.440 something like this. Never in a million years did I expect something like this to happen.
00:26:09.180 I don't have words. I just don't have words. I asked the Montreal police what was done between
00:26:14.060 the two fires. A police spokesperson told me that after Monday's attempt, officers were informed and
00:26:19.700 asked to give the business special attention and that officers did some rounds around. But
00:26:24.620 But unfortunately, at a certain moment, there was an arson that was committed.
00:26:28.940 I also asked whether the hate crimes unit is looking at any link to the arson at the
00:26:33.280 Jewish restaurant Noam in August or to the attack on Temple Emanuel Beth Shalom in October
00:26:39.000 29th.
00:26:40.000 For sure, we're going to look into it.
00:26:41.660 At this moment, nothing is confirmed that they are related or anything like that, but
00:26:45.120 we're not going to close any doors at this moment.
00:26:47.080 So for sure, we're going to look into the modus operandi that happened in those dossiers
00:26:52.340 the one that happened in that dossier to see if there's any similitudes or any information that
00:26:56.740 could maybe converge and to see if they're the same people but at this moment it's still a bit
00:27:01.700 too early to confirm if they're related but we're not closing any doors every hypothesis or looking
00:27:06.500 at the idea of investigators at this moment many people i speak to in the jewish community say that
00:27:11.140 this is not the canada that they remember and this is not simply about one bakery one synagogue or
00:27:16.420 even one city look at what the jewish canadians have experienced across the country over the last
00:27:21.060 three years and the latest figures from statistics canada tell us an equally disturbing story in
00:27:27.060 2025 police recorded 788 hate crimes targeted jewish canadians that is nearly 71 of all
00:27:34.980 religion motivated hate crimes reported to the police in the country despite jews representing
00:27:40.420 approximately one percent of canada's population we don't have enemies we don't have any competition
00:27:49.780 really that we are fighting with so there's nothing really i can't think of anybody who
00:27:54.340 could target us in that way so that's the only thing that really comes to mind is somebody's
00:28:00.120 trying to do something to make us move out of here to scare us to intimidate us and look i mean it's
00:28:06.340 not just my business they they hurt the bank they hurt the pharmacy they hurt the pizzeria it's a
00:28:11.920 whole strip mall that got affected and it's the garderie upstairs 80 kids out of places where to
00:28:17.780 go. I mean, thank God nobody got hurt. Thank God. It's a miracle that nobody was here and nothing
00:28:24.320 happened more than this. This is all material. A federal intelligence report dated June 29th,
00:28:31.140 obtained by Global News, revealed that Canadian authorities have disrupted four violent extremist
00:28:35.900 plots targeting Jewish communities since October 7th, 2023, attacks in Israel. All four were
00:28:41.500 inspired by ISIS. How many more warnings do we need before we start targeting the safety of
00:28:46.820 canadians as a national emergency do you feel like there's an end to this like do you feel like
00:28:51.780 there's an indication that our government or anybody is doing enough or there's an end to
00:28:56.380 these types of attacks around montreal and around canada no i don't think the government is doing
00:29:01.740 enough honestly there's no discouragement there's no condemnation there's no outright
00:29:07.420 um responses directed at people who are responsible for these kind of attacks
00:29:16.800 they are allowed to continue doing what they're doing yell out their insults and do what they do
00:29:21.920 and it's just disregarded but then it rises to this extent and this is where i'm asking the
00:29:29.740 question until when until when this is going to be until somebody dies until somebody's murdered
00:29:34.580 until until this like what happens what's the next step where's the escalation how far does
00:29:39.220 have to escalate before they actually pay attention and and and look at this with a different glass
00:29:45.380 with a different magnifying glass and look at the details of what's going on it's very scary
00:29:50.980 it's very scary and we don't have the protection that we should have we have a problem with the
00:29:58.500 the basic promise that every Canadian deserves to live safely and freely in this country.
00:30:04.440 Mimi Melon's family says that they have lost everything that they have and over 20 employees.
00:30:10.120 Some of them are also Muslim and their employees' families are left with no income.
00:30:15.380 They told us that they're trying to take it all in slowly and find a way to deal with
00:30:19.220 these irreversible damages.
00:30:21.500 And that shows the resilience of the Jewish community.
00:30:24.600 This was our only source of income.
00:30:27.880 is a family business. My husband, myself, my father-in-law were working closely together
00:30:33.260 to manage and run this for the past 11 years. And now, not only I don't have an answer for
00:30:40.920 me, but I have 22 employees that are on the street that have nowhere to go, no way to
00:30:46.480 feed their families and no way really to survive. So what was achieved here? Hatred, hurt. I
00:30:57.680 I have four employees who are Muslim that work with us.
00:31:02.660 So what have they achieved? 1.00
00:31:04.260 They just put them on the street, their own brothers and sisters.
00:31:08.820 This is where there has to be a limit.
00:31:12.640 There has to be a line drawn and said, okay, no more.
00:31:15.500 What can we do to stop this?
00:31:16.820 How can we stop this hatred?
00:31:18.680 How can we stop this animosity and just violence?
00:31:23.780 How many more Jewish-owned businesses need to be destroyed?
00:31:26.220 synagogues firebombed and Jewish schools shot before our governments finally not 1.00
00:31:31.980 only says say enough is enough but take concrete action to combat it when will
00:31:38.040 this end and what will it take for it to end rebel news journalists like me don't
00:31:43.080 just report on the news we show you the news from stories that the mainstream
00:31:46.500 media ignores to holding the government accountable please chip in today at
00:31:50.780 rebelfieldreports.com to keep our field reports team on the front lines for
00:31:55.980 For Rebel News, I'm Anastasia Zyrczynski reporting from Montreal, Quebec.
00:32:00.120 Tell us about some of the other work you're doing in Montreal.
00:32:02.440 I don't think I've properly introduced you to our viewers.
00:32:04.920 You and your colleague, Drew Silver, have been doing journalism for us in Montreal.
00:32:13.120 We've shown some of your work.
00:32:14.900 You guys are still students at Concordia.
00:32:17.620 Tell us a little bit about what it's like being a student at a very hostile university
00:32:24.020 when it comes to Israel and Jews.
00:32:25.980 I mean, there's so much to say. I think the best way to introduce it is that we are suing this university for those exact reasons. We are suing Concordia together, Drew and I. It's been extremely hostile. I've also led an Israeli club at Concordia and McGill University.
00:32:42.240 we've been trying our best to give confidence to students who want to speak up to stand up for
00:32:48.560 their values not radical values values that represent canadians canadian western values
00:32:53.440 reporting on the ground at concordia and mcgill has been very interesting to hear student voices
00:32:59.500 from a different perspective not from some sort of activist perspective but really just raw footage
00:33:04.180 raw voices of students what they feel what they think and we've enjoyed our time here at rebel
00:33:11.080 news so far we are new but uh it's been an amazing experience thus far and we can't wait to produce
00:33:16.920 more and show viewers more about what's going on in montreal and also montreal campuses well i know
00:33:23.300 you're doing a good job because the university has threatened you with litigation which tells me
00:33:28.020 you know no one shoots at a dead duck and the fact that you have uh raised the hackles of the
00:33:34.020 university tells me you're doing the right thing keep in touch thanks for your journalism and we'll
00:33:39.300 look forward to covering your stories in the future. Thank you, Ezra. Thank you so much.
00:33:43.940 Right on. There she is, Anastasia Zorchinski, one of our new young journalists in Montreal.
00:33:50.140 Stay with us. Your letters to me next.
00:34:01.900 Hey, welcome back. Your letters to me. Peter Renschel says, regarding Ezra's concluding
00:34:06.180 remarks, there's a fair amount of evidence that the polls done by the US's marquee polling
00:34:10.580 companies are rigged in order to demoralize prospective Republican voters. Putting all
00:34:15.720 that aside, can anyone seriously believe the Jew-hating Muslim Brotherhood-connected El
00:34:20.660 Syed or a Tallarico in Texas is running neck and neck with their Republican opponents?
00:34:25.600 We shall see tonight, this letter was written yesterday, but I hope for the sake of America
00:34:30.140 that these polls are false. Well, it looked like the polls were fairly accurate. I mean,
00:34:36.060 it was a pretty big blowout. There's such a competitive market for polling, and there really
00:34:43.100 are bragging rights that the pollsters have how accurate they are. There are for sure push polls
00:34:48.820 and some polls that are less reputable and designed to get a certain outcome, but I think
00:34:53.900 there's just so many polls in the United States, especially over big days like the presidential
00:35:00.340 election and then these midterms. I just don't know if I believe that theory. Bruce Atchison says
00:35:07.320 Carney and his ilk are hypocrites. While warning about a capitalist cutting off people, they're 0.99
00:35:12.020 working to do the same thing. Soon, if they get their way, all non-governmental media that is
00:35:17.440 critical of the regime will be shut down. Well, that's what's so crazy is seven bills. Like I
00:35:22.520 went through all seven of them. I didn't think there were seven. I don't even think Trudeau had
00:35:27.780 seven. And I just can't think of any other issue where Carney has seven bills. It's his, you know,
00:35:36.660 the U.S. is strong on AI. Canada, not so much. We're trying to get strong on censorship. I don't
00:35:44.340 think it's a better way. Anyways, that's our show for the day. Until tomorrow, on behalf of all of
00:35:49.760 us here at Rebel World Headquarters to you at home, good night and keep fighting for freedom.
