Rebel News Podcast - EZRA LEVANT ｜ Every day is April Fool's

00:00:00.000 Tonight, it's April Fool's Day, but then again, given the ongoing march of the radical transgender 1.00

00:00:21.900 movement, isn't every day April Fool's Day? It's Friday, April 1st, and this is the Ezra Levent Show.

00:00:32.700 Why should others go to jail when you're a biggest carbon consumer I know?

00:00:36.520 There's 8,500 customers here, and you won't give them an answer.

00:00:40.580 The only thing I have to say to the government about why I publish it is because it's my bloody right to do so.

00:00:51.900 Happy April Fool's Day, everybody. Now, I could have done something cheesy, like write a fake monologue

00:00:58.960 about a fake news story, you know, like proclaiming the Trudeau liberals are cancelling the carbon taxes

00:01:05.680 or Bill C-11. But really, why bother? Because is April Fool's Day even relevant anymore? Which is to say,

00:01:15.000 in our politically correct woke cancel culture, isn't every day April Fool's Day? Statues of

00:01:23.360 historical figures are being beheaded and torn down. Sports team nicknames ranging from crusaders

00:01:29.300 to anything native related are being eradicated. Even the term boys and girls or ladies and gentlemen,

00:01:37.500 you know, descriptors that are relevant to 99.99999% of the population are being reimagined.

00:01:48.200 Oh, you didn't hear about that, folks? Earlier this week, and I swear, this is no April Fool's Day joke,

00:01:55.420 Disney theme parks decided that they are no longer using such vulgar language as boys and girls and ladies

00:02:03.380 and gentlemen, when it comes to making PA announcements. Here's what Disney's Vivian Ware had to say 1.00

00:02:11.920 in a recent conference call that was thankfully recorded. Quote, we provided training for all of our cast

00:02:19.320 members in relationship to that. So now they know it's hello, everyone, or hello, friends, end quote.

00:02:28.760 By the way, Vivian Ware is Disney's diversity and inclusion manager. What does a diversity and

00:02:37.680 inclusion manager do at Disney World? You know, remember when going to a theme park was all about

00:02:43.920 having a fun time going on thrill rides and eating corn dogs and cotton candy and trying to win a stuffed

00:02:51.260 animal? Now we must worry about diversity and inclusion. And of course, avoid using, quote,

00:02:58.100 gender greetings, end quote. Say, did even a single park goer at Disney complain about gendered 0.75

00:03:07.840 greetings? I doubt it. And so it is that friends is the politically correct Disney-fied descriptor

00:03:15.960 for all people visiting Disney parks, regardless of genitalia. Friends. You know, it reminds me of a

00:03:25.860 certain scene from a classic monster horror chiller theater movie. Before you came, I was all alone.

00:03:34.600 It is bad to be alone. Alone. Bad. Friend. Good. Friend. Good. Say, friends, we all know what's behind

00:03:49.920 to this insanity, don't we? It is society en masse caving to the radical transgender movement. From 1.00

00:03:57.780 the political elites to big business. Nobody wants to come across as non-inclusive these days,

00:04:05.220 given the ongoing pandemic of wokeness. So it is that pregnant women are now referred to as pregnant

00:04:12.740 people. So it is that breastfeeding is now chest feeding. God forbid that we offend those with a Y 1.00

00:04:20.600 chromosome, even though men cannot give birth and men cannot breastfeed. Oh, but let's not allow

00:04:28.720 biology 101 to get in the way, shall we? Excuse me, it's ma'am. It is ma'am.

00:04:34.480 Wow. I think we have our titular character if Universal Studios ever goes ahead to making

00:04:41.160 Frankenstein Monster the next generation. But of course, when bending the knee to the nutbars who 1.00

00:04:48.940 comprise the radical transgender community, it isn't about just replacing words. It's about harming real 1.00

00:04:57.460 woman, be it in the world of sports or in the penal system. Recently, Leah Thomas became the first fake 1.00

00:05:06.680 woman to win an NCAA Division I National Championship when he finished first in the 500-yard freestyle race.

00:05:16.560 The NCAA allowing this to happen is a disgrace, of course. And what about the leftist mainstream media

00:05:24.440 that always admonishes us to follow the science when it comes to everything from climate change to the

00:05:31.840 COVID-19 pandemic? Well, suddenly, like so many ostriches burning their heads in the sand, 0.99

00:05:39.060 they dare not mention the elephant in the room that male to female athletes have an inherent physical

00:05:46.040 advantage over biological women, given everything from muscle mass to cardiovascular capacity. 1.00

00:05:53.400 That's why, with the exception of auto racing and equestrian, males and females have always competed

00:06:00.300 in separate categories. It's called a level playing field. But that was then, and this is now.

00:06:08.680 In fact, instead of exposing Leah Thomas for the grifter that he is, namely a dude who was a mediocre

00:06:16.620 swimmer at best in the men's division, the media and academia are protecting and promoting him.

00:06:25.020 As I mentioned earlier this week in a rant I recorded, look at how NBC News digitally photoshopped

00:06:32.300 Leah Thomas to look more feminine. That's because the whole narrative of trans women are real women 0.99

00:06:40.520 kind of goes off the rails, wouldn't you say, when the she-male is sporting five o'clock shadow. 0.99

00:06:47.940 So it is that NBC News morphed into NBC fiction and feminized Leah. Then again, this is the same news network

00:06:57.440 responsible for rigging a test to falsely show that GM pickup trucks of yesterdecade were the equivalent

00:07:05.660 of next-generation Ford Pintos. Remember this infamous report from 1992? Check it out.

00:07:14.040 To see for ourselves what might happen in a side-impact crash, Dateline NBC hired the Institute for Safety

00:07:20.760 Analysis to conduct crash demonstrations. Unlike GM tests, the fuel tanks were filled with real gasoline.

00:07:28.980 Look what happened.

00:07:30.060 At impact, a small hole was punctured in the tank. According to our experts, the pressure of the

00:07:39.780 collision and the crushing of the gas tank forced gasoline to spew from the gas cap. The fuel then

00:07:45.780 erupted into flames when ignited by the impacting car's headlight. Wow, that was quite dramatic,

00:07:52.920 quite frightening, wasn't it? Actually, no. You see, try as they might, NBC News could not get those GM

00:08:02.260 pickup trucks to blow up when enduring a side impact. So NBC decided to tinker with the experiment to get

00:08:11.880 those much sought-after kaboom visuals, which is to say they secretly affixed incendiary devices

00:08:20.740 on those gas tanks. I swear to God, folks, those journalists had their henchmen put little tiny bombs on those gas

00:08:30.340 tanks to make those trucks blow up real good. Indeed, I would say that this kind of smear tactic that NBC used to

00:08:39.260 demonize GM some 30 years ago might indeed be the great granddaddy of what we now refer to as fake news in the

00:08:48.320 here and now. And they might have gotten away with it if not for a whistleblower who spilled the beans

00:08:54.600 to GM. Now, the company would subsequently file a defamation lawsuit. Check out the mea culpa

00:09:02.840 apology that aired courtesy of co-authors Jane Pauley and Stone Phillips as part of that out-of-court

00:09:11.700 settlement in 1993. NBC's contractor did put incendiary devices under the trucks to ensure

00:09:20.600 that there would be a fire if gasoline were released from the truck's gas tank. We said the

00:09:25.760 crash, quote, forced gasoline to spew from the fuel cap, end quote. GM says since the gas cap was the

00:09:32.520 wrong cap for the GM filler tube and because the gas tank was overfilled, the cap came off when the

00:09:38.660 impact occurred. We agree with GM that we should have told our viewers about these devices. The

00:09:45.280 Dateline reporter, however, said, quote, at impact, a small hole was punctured in the tank, unquote. GM has

00:09:52.700 now x-rayed that tank and found no hole. We acknowledge the placing of the incendiary devices under the

00:09:59.100 truck was a bad idea from start to finish. Absolutely amazing. But that's the thing. Three decades ago,

00:10:08.020 folks, when NBC was caught red-handed falsifying the news, an apology was made and some head honchos in the

00:10:15.800 NBC News Department were rightfully terminated. But today, NBC seems to be taking the stance that fake news

00:10:24.860 is good news if such fakery is being used to advance the cause of fake females. Pardon my French, but how effed up 1.00

00:10:36.100 is that? Meanwhile, on our continent's cookie campuses, a cheater such as Leah Thomas is not

00:10:44.260 to be vilified, but rather celebrated. And if you don't do so, then obviously you are a transphobe. 0.86

00:10:52.740 Capisce? Indeed, recently, a Purdue University professor of women's gender and sexuality studies,

00:11:00.320 Cheryl Cookie, no, that's her real surname, folks, I swear, compared Leah Thomas to trailblazing 0.60

00:11:07.820 baseball star Jackie Robinson, the first major league baseball player to break the odious color 0.97

00:11:14.900 barrier, stated Cookie, quote, Thomas, as the first transgender athlete to win a Division I NCAA

00:11:23.480 championship, deserves to be placed among the other firsts. She should be embraced in the history of 0.53

00:11:31.580 progress that sports represent and recognized as the trailblazer that she is, end quote. Can you imagine?

00:11:41.900 Oh, by the way, which media outlet did Professor Cookie write her opinion piece for?

00:11:47.620 You guessed it. NBC News. What does NBC stand for these days, by the way? Nothing but crap. Now,

00:11:59.240 at this point, folks, I'm going to run a video we aired five years ago. Back then, it was meant to be

00:12:05.780 satire, parody, a goof vis-a-vis radical transgenderism. Little did we know we were actually being 1.00

00:12:14.780 clairvoyant. Check it out. Earlier this year, the National Basketball Association stripped Charlotte

00:12:22.460 of the NBA All-Star Game. The reason for this, folks, was the NBA was upset with North Carolina's

00:12:29.420 so-called bathroom bill. You know, the bill that requires people of the appropriate gender to use 0.90

00:12:35.600 the appropriate bathroom. Well, if the NBA is all about trans-friendly rights, let's put that to the 0.92

00:12:43.320 test. I'm here at the Air Canada Centre where the Toronto Raptors are having tryouts for cheerleaders

00:12:49.420 and my persona is Lady Menzoid. I'm going to see if I can crack the team. And I know what you're 0.72

00:12:55.580 thinking, uh, it was a long winter, okay?

00:13:25.580 What a workout. Well, on the one hand, folks, kudos to the Toronto Raptors for letting me, the

00:13:32.580 lovable Lady Menzoid, have a tryout for the Toronto Raptors. I'm going to see if I can crack the team. 1.00

00:13:35.680 What a workout. Well, on the one hand, folks, kudos to the Toronto Raptors for letting me, the lovable

00:13:40.580 Lady Menzoid, have a tryout with the real woman. But you know something, since I didn't get a gig with the 1.00

00:13:47.580 squad, I can't think of what a missed opportunity there was here for the Raptors and the NBA. I mean,

00:13:54.580 after all, I could have been the first trainer of the Toronto Raptors for letting me, the lovable Lady Menzoid,

00:13:59.580 I mean, just think about it. It would be like when Jackie Robinson broke the colour barrier with the

00:14:18.580 Brooklyn Dodgers in 1945. For that lack of diversity and that non-inclusion, I'm afraid the NBA and the

00:14:26.580 Toronto Raptors, when it comes to trans acceptance, gets two thumbs down and one other appendage.

00:14:36.580 Well, there you have it. And I truly thought the most outrageous thing that I could come up with back

00:14:42.580 then was comparing transgender cheats to the late, great Jackie Robinson. Indeed, when the segment first

00:14:49.580 aired back in 2017, our haters called us out for being transphobic. Well, sorry to disappoint you guys

00:14:58.580 and gals and others. The joke's on you. We were simply ahead of the curve, just ask Professor Cookie.

00:15:06.580 But you would think the gong show, that is the Leah Thomas story, would make sports federations rewrite the

00:15:14.580 rules to prevent future gender bender fiascos from occurring. But no, they are doubling down. 1.00

00:15:22.580 Consider this announcement from the Brainiacs who run the Commonwealth Games. You see, an unnamed athlete

00:15:30.580 who previously competed in male events will now be in contention for selection in a female cycling

00:15:39.580 cycling category. Here's what the Commonwealth Games Federation told the Telegraph newspaper,

00:15:45.580 quote, the CGF will work on close partnership with the relevant international federations to establish

00:15:53.580 qualification and eligibility criteria for athlete participation at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.

00:16:03.580 The new policy will be keeping with principles established in the IOC framework on fairness,

00:16:11.580 inclusion and non-discrimination on the basis of gender identity and sex variations, end quote.

00:16:20.580 Can you believe that, folks? These social justice weirdos have the absolute chutzpah to use words such as

00:16:29.580 fairness and inclusion and non-discrimination in order to justify their policy of being unfair and

00:16:39.580 non-inclusive and highly discriminatory when it comes to the rules and regulations pertaining to

00:16:47.580 transgender athletes who will now be competing against biological female athletes. The only silver lining here is 1.00

00:16:55.580 this. How many people do you think give a rodent's rectum about the Commonwealth Games? Answer? 0.93

00:17:07.580 Yeah, way to go, Commonwealth Games. You just made yourselves even less relevant than the Pam Scam Games. 0.64

00:17:15.580 But at the end of the day, sports, even elite and professional grade sports, they're just about fun and games, aren't they?

00:17:23.580 They are the toy department of life. But here's what's not funny when it comes to the radical transgender agenda. 1.00

00:17:31.580 How about male convicts pretending to be female so that they can do their time in a woman's penitentiary? 1.00

00:17:39.580 That's the policy right now in Canada, folks. And one means slice and dice or genitalia, nor take hormone shots, etc. 0.99

00:17:49.580 No, all a male criminal must do is simply say that he identifies as a she and presto, your cellmates are suddenly females

00:18:01.580 rather than males. I know what could possibly go wrong, right?

00:18:07.580 In fact, we covered a transphobic protest regarding this issue in Kitchener, Ontario last year. Check it out.

00:18:15.580 When I first got here, I was told right away by some of the women to watch out for a certain prisoner.

00:18:21.580 And I said, wait, we have men here? And they're like, yeah, we do. But you're not allowed to call them men and you have to use she, her pronouns. 0.92

00:18:31.580 Are you telling me, Heather, I can just deviously say, hey, I'm a woman all of a sudden and I'm here?

00:18:37.580 Yes, you could.

00:18:38.580 Will you do your best to ensure that trans women are put in prison or prison more appropriate to their gender identity?

00:18:45.580 The answer is yes.

00:18:46.580 The next day it was policy.

00:18:48.580 Unbelievable.

00:18:49.580 That is how much consideration women got. 1.00

00:18:52.580 It's sorry to see real women like yourselves throw women inmates under the bus because of males pretending to be females. 0.95

00:19:00.580 I will not call him a woman because he was not.

00:19:05.580 How he victimized women throughout the compound over that period of time absolutely floored me.

00:19:11.580 We really should be able to define a woman in this country. 1.00

00:19:14.580 And sure, let trans people live the way they want. 0.96

00:19:17.580 However, you can't just throw women under the bus.

00:19:20.580 Yeah, I think Sergeant Hand said it all, didn't he?

00:19:24.580 In Justin Trudeau's Canada, you have the right to be whatever you want.

00:19:29.580 Okay, then I'm currently identifying as a 13 year old female ringette player. 0.99

00:19:36.580 Oh, but hang around, folks.

00:19:37.580 In about 20 minutes or so, I'm going to be identifying as a Westinghouse toaster.

00:19:43.580 The bottom line is simply this.

00:19:46.580 In the name of radical transgenderism, big business and big academia and big media are all on board when it comes to violating the rights of 100% biological women. 0.66

00:20:01.580 You know, that community that makes up about 4 billion people on this planet.

00:20:08.580 What we need right now are brave politicians to go against this insane grain.

00:20:14.580 We need laws enacted to protect real women, be it those females competing in sports or those who are doing time in prison. 1.00

00:20:23.580 There are indeed moves afoot in a handful of US states in this regard.

00:20:29.580 I'd like to see such common sense take hold in our great dominion as well.

00:20:36.580 To put it another way, let's make April Fool's Day great again.

00:20:40.580 Which is to say, let's put an end to trans-sanity. 1.00

00:20:45.580 Let's confine April Fool's Day to the first day of April as opposed to pretending that April Fool's Day is a 24-7, 365 day a year occurrence.

00:20:59.580 Well, folks, the debate regarding climate change will continue to rage on for the years and decades ahead.

00:21:18.580 But consider the curious case of my guest, Alex Epstein.

00:21:23.580 Alex has written a few books on fossil fuels in 2014.

00:21:29.580 He penned the moral case for fossil fuels and he has an upcoming book called Fossil Future.

00:21:36.580 But check this out.

00:21:38.580 It looks as though the Washington Post is perhaps going to publish a hit piece on Alex,

00:21:46.580 not based on flawed data or anything like that, but based on the fact that my guest is a racist? 0.85

00:21:55.580 Unbelievable.

00:21:56.580 And joining me now from south of the border is Alex Epstein himself.

00:22:00.580 Hi.

00:22:01.580 How you doing there, my friend?

00:22:02.580 That's funny to call it south of the border.

00:22:04.580 I was like, wait, I'm not from Mexico, but of course.

00:22:07.580 I'm doing great considering I woke up on Monday hearing that one of the most powerful newspapers in the world was going to falsely portray me as racist to destroy my career in my book.

00:22:18.580 You know, Alex, I see this as an ad hominem attack.

00:22:23.580 I have come across nothing in my research that suggests that you are remotely racist.

00:22:30.580 Why is the Washington Post going down this road instead of challenging you on your facts in terms of why you love fossil fuels or even wearing the T-shirt right now, I see.

00:22:42.580 Why are they doing a personal attack and smearing you?

00:22:47.580 Let me just make sure everyone is familiar with the facts.

00:22:50.580 So my publicist sent them a copy of this book, Fossil Future.

00:22:55.580 So that's an upcoming book.

00:22:57.580 They sent it to one of their leading climate journalists.

00:23:00.580 So it's a book about energy and climate.

00:23:02.580 It makes sense to send it to that journalist.

00:23:04.580 That journalist responded by saying, hey, thanks for the book.

00:23:07.580 We're going to run this piece.

00:23:09.580 Would you like to comment?

00:23:10.580 And so the piece was just a hit piece beyond compare.

00:23:14.580 So what they did is they looked through all of everything I've ever written to find the most controversial thing in their eyes, which they decided was some stuff I wrote when I was 18 or 19, which was incredibly individualist and explicitly non-racist.

00:23:29.580 But they distorted it as racist.

00:23:31.580 They ignored many explicit statements by me about the evil of racism, et cetera, et cetera.

00:23:36.580 So it's just a complete hit job.

00:23:38.580 And then they use that to say because he's racist, then he doesn't really care about things like poor people in Africa getting fossil fuels.

00:23:47.580 And therefore, we don't have to listen to his argument.

00:23:50.580 So they were discrediting me through this totally false racism allegation that was based on this total distortion of 23 year old documents.

00:23:58.580 So, of course, I know this is a hit piece.

00:24:00.580 So when they're asking me for a comment, they are asking me to participate in my own destruction.

00:24:06.580 And I refuse to do that.

00:24:07.580 I told them I will comment.

00:24:09.580 But the comment I chose to make was public.

00:24:11.580 And so what I did was I preemptively refuted and condemned the intended piece.

00:24:17.580 And we have a very clear outline of the piece.

00:24:19.580 It has quotes.

00:24:20.580 It has certain academics saying that I am racist based on a distortion of these documents.

00:24:25.580 It is very clearly a hit piece.

00:24:27.580 I had definitive evidence they were going to do a hit piece.

00:24:30.580 And therefore, I did the right thing again, which was to preemptively refute and condemn the piece.

00:24:36.580 Now, what happened is I got an overwhelming amount of support because I was obviously right.

00:24:40.580 It got mentioned on the Joe Rogan experience.

00:24:43.580 The original post got seen over two million times.

00:24:46.580 I had this hour long video that anyone who watches finds persuasive.

00:24:50.580 And so what's happened is the Washington Post was supposed to publish the piece over two days ago.

00:24:55.580 It still hasn't happened.

00:24:56.580 We don't know whether it will.

00:24:58.580 The only thing that they've done in response is, get this, they have condemned me for online bullying of the journalist who tried to destroy my life.

00:25:09.580 So me defending myself preemptively, they say, you shouldn't have done that.

00:25:13.580 You should have just let the hit piece to destroy your life have run.

00:25:16.580 And then you can comment.

00:25:18.580 And not just the Washington Post managing editor said this.

00:25:22.580 Something called Penn just said that some journalism organization and a dozen other journalists who are like friends of the journalist who did this hit piece on me.

00:25:32.580 They stood up.

00:25:33.580 They all called my attacks baseless.

00:25:35.580 I made a one hour complete expose with proof and primary source documents.

00:25:41.580 So journalism in the mainstream journalism, as far as I'm concerned, is dead.

00:25:46.580 And unless the Washington Post at this point needs to fire their executive editor, unless they clean house, they are worthless as a journalistic institution.

00:25:54.580 Yeah, you won't get an argument from me there, Alex.

00:25:57.580 But can you give me a tangible example or two or three, whatever it may be, on why it is this journalist is vilifying you as a racist?

00:26:08.580 What did she dig up in her research that is saying, aha, he said this or he wrote that.

00:26:15.580 Therefore, he is a racist.

00:26:17.580 Oh, sure.

00:26:18.580 Yeah.

00:26:19.580 And I documented this very clearly and anyone can see it on Twitter.

00:26:21.580 But the first and main category was to say that because I praised Western culture as superior, I am therefore a racist.

00:26:29.580 And they put it as he praised Western white culture as superior.

00:26:34.580 But I said very explicitly, I had an article in the main Duke University newspaper called Judging Cultures is Not Racist.

00:26:42.580 And I made very clear that race and culture, skin color and culture, are totally different things because culture is about ideas and skin color has nothing to do with ideas.

00:26:53.580 So the fact that most of the people involved in creating the best parts of Western culture had light skin is totally meaningless to me. 1.00

00:27:01.580 And yet they're portraying me as racist.

00:27:04.580 The other thing when there are only two things.

00:27:06.580 So we know we can see the document.

00:27:08.580 I've made the document available online.

00:27:09.580 The other thing is that I said certain critical things about Martin Luther King Jr.

00:27:14.580 from an individualist and pro-freedom perspective.

00:27:17.580 Specifically, I was critical of him for affiliating with the global communist movement.

00:27:22.580 And I was critical of him for supporting certain welfare programs and certain race preference programs that I argued proved to be very destructive to the black individuals they were supposed to benefit.

00:27:32.580 That is certainly a reasonable view.

00:27:34.580 It is not a racist view.

00:27:36.580 It is an anti-racist view.

00:27:37.580 And again, I have a public track record from the time I was a teenager of being a public, complete opponent of racism.

00:27:46.580 So the Washington Post and this other organization called Documented that they're in cahoots with, it is a total act of journalistic fraud.

00:27:55.580 And the motivation is obviously to destroy me.

00:27:57.580 Why do you respond to a new book by trying to dig up things from 23 years ago and distort them?

00:28:02.580 That's not journalism.

00:28:03.580 That's character assassination.

00:28:05.580 Oh, I totally agree.

00:28:06.580 And let's unpack some of the things you just said there, Alex.

00:28:09.580 I mean, when you say Western culture is superior, I would agree with that. 1.00

00:28:12.580 I would.

00:28:13.580 And I believe in American exceptionalism.

00:28:15.580 That might be deemed a racist term these days.

00:28:18.580 But the proof is in the proverbial pudding.

00:28:20.580 You go around the world.

00:28:21.580 There are lineups in every country of people trying to emigrate to.

00:28:27.580 They're racist, right?

00:28:28.580 The USA. 0.97

00:28:29.580 Those are racist. 0.91

00:28:30.580 That's right.

00:28:31.580 And it's very telling that the journalist inserted the word white when that wasn't part of your original transcript.

00:28:41.580 In other words, skin color had nothing to do with that statement.

00:28:44.580 And Martin Luther King Jr., he was a great man.

00:28:47.580 But as I've always said, Alex, show me a great man.

00:28:50.580 I'll also show you a flawed man.

00:28:53.580 And his flaws, again, have nothing to do with skin color.

00:28:56.580 So they're hanging this character assassination on this.

00:29:01.580 That seems to be so tenuous.

00:29:03.580 Only this.

00:29:04.580 That's it.

00:29:05.580 You can see the email.

00:29:06.580 It's only this.

00:29:07.580 And so what they did is they took these quotes.

00:29:09.580 They distorted them in their own way.

00:29:11.580 And then they got two prominent, I believe, black academics, one from Harvard, one from Stanford, to say that, hey, these are racist.

00:29:19.580 One in particular was quoted as saying something like, this shows a bias toward great white figures as against great black figures. 0.98

00:29:28.580 Like, I won't say the curse word, but what the hell are you talking about? 0.74

00:29:32.580 Like, how could you possibly say this about me?

00:29:34.580 You don't know me at all. 0.97

00:29:35.580 This is just total nonsense. 0.87

00:29:37.580 Who knows what this guy was fed? 0.77

00:29:39.580 I wouldn't be surprised if he was fed something distorted.

00:29:42.580 But this is completely inexcusable to treat somebody this way.

00:29:46.580 And again, this is a book about energy and climate.

00:29:49.580 Why are they even going here?

00:29:51.580 The reason they're going here is the same reason they're totally distorting the facts.

00:29:55.580 And it's because they want to destroy me without engaging my arguments, because they have no answer to my arguments.

00:30:00.580 And they're afraid that Fossil Future is going to be a wild success.

00:30:04.580 And because I preempted them, that's going to even help it be a success.

00:30:07.580 But if I had to let them destroy me like all the so-called journalists are advocating, I would be sitting here right now defending my life against the idea that I'm racist instead of them defending their lives against a hit piece on me, which is the just thing.

00:30:21.580 They should be on the defensive, not me.

00:30:23.580 You know, it reminds me, Alex, of that great Margaret Thatcher quote when she was Prime Minister of Great Britain, when she was asked by a journalist, when people start making remarks about how you look or how much you weigh, you know, do these ad hominem attacks, how do you feel?

00:30:41.580 He says, I feel quite happy because it means I've won the argument.

00:30:44.580 They don't they don't have anything to attack my policies, my ideas, my thoughts.

00:30:50.580 So they have to resort to ad hominem attacks. I think that might be the case with you.

00:30:54.580 But tell me, Alex, I'm not a defamation lawyer, but this sounds to me that The Washington Post is dancing with defamation here.

00:31:02.580 They've, you know, misconstrued what you've said. They've lied about some of the things you've said.

00:31:08.580 Are you thinking of lawyering up in case this smear article does come to be that is if it indeed gets published?

00:31:17.580 I am exploring all just options. I'll just say that.

00:31:21.580 OK, fair enough. And again, you know what the perverse irony is, is that I think with your books, you make a profound case for fossil fuels.

00:31:33.580 We're pro fossil fuels here. That's for sure. I think the perverse irony is that even if you were racist, let's let's look at, say, Albert Einstein.

00:31:45.580 If Albert Einstein was a racist, it still wouldn't detract from the idea that he's also a genius. 0.99

00:31:51.580 Now, neither you nor Einstein are racist, of course, but that's how flawed I think the post argument is that because you are allegedly a racist, therefore everything in your book is rubbish. 0.93

00:32:06.580 And I'm saying, no, that's not the way it works. 0.72

00:32:09.580 Yeah, although I do argue that it does work in the opposite direction, namely the attacks against me and against fossil fuels in this case are racist.

00:32:18.580 And I mean that very directly. So basically, people are saying I'm a racist for saying Western culture is superior.

00:32:24.580 White Western culture is superior. If you call it white Western culture, Western culture is defined politically by freedom. 0.94

00:32:30.580 That means you think freedom is white. That is a racist idea.

00:32:35.580 And the other thing is you are advocating policies that deprive the world of fossil fuels.

00:32:41.580 Who gets hurt the most from that? People who lack low cost, reliable energy.

00:32:45.580 Most of those people have darker skin, so-called people of color.

00:32:49.580 So it's a racist idea directly by saying that freedom is white.

00:32:53.580 And it's a racist idea indirectly because energy deprivation harms people of color the most.

00:32:59.580 So I and this is why, you know, certain allies of mine in Africa have stood up and said, hey, this is a brother to us.

00:33:05.580 This guy has stood up for us when everyone else was oppressing us with these anti-fossil fuel policies.

00:33:11.580 And I will continue to do that. And I am not going to be one bit deterred by being called racist.

00:33:17.580 But I will use the term racist where it is justified. And the attacks on me are racist attacks.

00:33:24.580 Yeah, that is a perverse slice of irony as well.

00:33:27.580 But, you know, this is the thing, Alex, that really bothers me is that we now live in a day and age of wokeism, of cancel culture, where everything is racist.

00:33:37.580 And of course, if everything is racist, nothing is racist.

00:33:40.580 And it used to be when you look that, you know, classical liberals, they were all about free speech, freedom of expression.

00:33:51.580 They were all about, say, if you say that there's a moral case for fossil fuel, they'll take you on a debate and say, well, here's why it's immoral to use fossil fuels.

00:34:01.580 And at the end of the day, you shake hands and go to the pub and have a pint.

00:34:05.580 But now it's if you take a contrarian view, especially I think to the left, to what mainstream media are peddling, you are essentially an enemy of the state and you have to be shut down.

00:34:21.580 There cannot be any debate.

00:34:23.580 And if it means smearing somebody, as is the case here, that he's a racist, so be it.

00:34:28.580 This is really disappointing, especially in your country, the land of the First Amendment.

00:34:34.580 I agree entirely.

00:34:36.580 So if you need to respond to ideas with better ideas, and if you think my ideas are so obviously wrong and bad, why don't you give a refutation of them?

00:34:46.580 But these guys, these journalists, they can't even give a refutation of my clear argument that I was unfairly attacked and smeared because it's just it's irrefutable.

00:34:55.580 So it's a really sad sign of how weak I mean, it's in a sense, a happy sign for me how weak the climate catastrophist fossil fuel eliminating position is.

00:35:06.580 I've been arguing this for years.

00:35:07.580 And with fossil future, I think I really show it to a new level.

00:35:10.580 But you're just seeing the intellectual level of these people that they can't even they're calling baseless a total refutation of this article.

00:35:19.580 And also, all of the climate activists who've commented on this, not one has defended me against the racism.

00:35:27.580 They've all been gleeful or endorsing it.

00:35:30.580 If any climate catastrophist, I guarantee you, was attacked as racist to discredit them on climate and it was totally bogus, I would be the first person to stand up and I would stand up against anyone on my side who did that.

00:35:42.580 The fact that nobody on that side has stood up for me shows the low moral character that I've witnessed privately for years.

00:35:48.580 No, I agree with you, Alex.

00:35:50.580 I mean, it's absolutely shameful.

00:35:52.580 And I guess we'll just have to see in the days ahead if this Washington Post article comes to fruition.

00:36:00.580 We've touched on many subjects.

00:36:01.580 Is there anything I might have missed regarding this issue that we haven't discussed, Alex?

00:36:07.580 I think we can already learn a lesson from this.

00:36:10.580 And I wanted part of the reason I spent time on this was I wanted to create a model for others to follow.

00:36:15.580 And that is if you know you are the victim of a hit piece and you are asked for comment.

00:36:21.580 Do not comment to the writer that is participating in the injustice.

00:36:25.580 What you need to do is you need to preemptively and publicly refute and condemn the hit piece so that the story becomes there is a totally unjust hit piece against you, not the content of the hit piece.

00:36:39.580 Now, this is only true if you're innocent.

00:36:41.580 So this is not some people who get, quote, canceled.

00:36:43.580 They're not innocent.

00:36:44.580 In a sense, they deserve to be canceled or they deserve to at least be reprimanded.

00:36:48.580 But if you're innocent, which often happens, then again, do not participate in the injustice.

00:36:54.580 Don't sanction your destroyers.

00:36:56.580 Preempt it publicly.

00:36:58.580 This is what the journalism community is so mad at me because I talked about a story that hadn't come out.

00:37:04.580 Yes, because I had clear proof of the outline that it was going to destroy me.

00:37:08.580 And I was absolutely within my rights to preempt it.

00:37:10.580 And I encourage others to do the same.

00:37:12.580 We cannot allow this racket where these powerful journalists and papers get to destroy our reputations.

00:37:18.580 And then we have to play defense and they issue a retraction eight months later, if at all.

00:37:23.580 That's a ridiculous game that I will never play.

00:37:25.580 Well said. 0.85

00:37:26.580 Well, you know, Alex, I live by the credo.

00:37:29.580 The truth is the best defense.

00:37:31.580 And the truth of the matter is you don't have a racist bone in your body.

00:37:35.580 This is a despicable smear tactic.

00:37:37.580 And if the people at the Washington Post wonder why a growing number of people refer to that newspaper as the Washington Compost.

00:37:46.580 Well, we have yet another example.

00:37:49.580 Alex, thank you for so much for spending time with me and good luck with this.

00:37:53.580 And if that article does come out, please come back on the Ezra Levin show.

00:37:57.580 We'd like to follow up with you.

00:37:58.580 Thanks.

00:37:59.580 And thanks for giving me the opportunity to expose this injustice.

00:38:02.580 You got it.

00:38:04.580 And that was Alex Epstein.

00:38:07.580 Keep it here, folks.

00:38:08.580 More of the Ezra Levin show to come right after this.

00:38:23.580 Well, folks, you had plenty to say about Ezra's monologue yesterday regarding Germany banning the letter Z.

00:38:31.580 Or is it Zed?

00:38:33.580 Regardless, I don't know how we're going to say words like zoo or zenith in Germany anymore.

00:38:37.580 But I digress.

00:38:39.580 Lapis Loaf writes, this is April Fools, right?

00:38:44.580 I can never tell the difference between reality and fiction anymore.

00:38:49.580 You're right.

00:38:50.580 And that was what my monologue was about.

00:38:53.580 So you are ahead of the curve, kind sir.

00:38:56.580 Anton Korinveski writes, bad news.

00:39:01.580 The Russians also use letters V and O to mark military vehicles in this war.

00:39:08.580 What happens if they start using the S sign?

00:39:11.580 Are dollars going to be banned, too?

00:39:15.580 I don't know, my friend, but one thing I do know for sure.

00:39:18.580 Man, I am feeling so sorry for future contestants on Wheel of Fortune.

00:39:25.580 And Richard Bayer writes, referring to Hunter Biden's laptop, that is.

00:39:32.580 Short answer, Hunter is no longer useful and now it's okay to discard him.

00:39:38.580 I'll go a step further, my friend.

00:39:40.580 I would say if Hunter Biden's name was, say, oh, I don't know, Donald Trump Jr.

00:39:45.580 Do you think maybe this story is on the front page?

00:39:48.580 Do you think maybe all the investigative journalists in America are turning over every stone?

00:39:55.580 Yeah, I think so.

00:39:56.580 Well, folks, that's our show for the evening.

00:39:59.580 Tune back in on Monday.

00:40:01.580 The big boss man himself, Ezra Levent, will be here.

00:40:03.580 In the meantime, have a wonderful weekend and, as always, stay sane.

00:40:08.580 This is Kristin Sobot here with Rebel News.

00:40:10.580 We are here at Queen's Park today for a rally.

00:40:13.580 We're reaching the two-year anniversary since these have been happening.

00:40:16.580 Restrictions have been lifted, but people are still here because the mandates are put in place.

00:40:20.580 So we're going to be speaking to people today about their opinions on Trudeau's recent trip to the EU

00:40:27.580 as well as the recent NDP coalition.

00:40:30.580 We stand on guard for thee.

00:40:36.580 Oh, Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

00:40:51.580 Freedom! Freedom!

00:40:53.580 What's bringing you out today?

00:40:55.580 I'm here for the freedom, right?

00:40:57.580 We just want all mandates to be over because so-called government is lifting mandates,

00:41:03.580 but I know people, my friends, who are still losing their employment.

00:41:07.580 We're going to crush the establishment, and it just takes resistance.

00:41:10.580 Rebel News is doing some good reporting.

00:41:12.580 You guys are doing amazing, so keep it up.

00:41:15.580 Standing up for our fundamental freedoms.

00:41:19.580 You know, people are saying that, hey, the mandates are over and blah, blah, blah.

00:41:24.580 But they're actually not because people are still losing their jobs.

00:41:28.580 Canadians are still hostage within their own country.

00:41:31.580 If you're not vaccinated, you can't fly out. You can't board a plane.

00:41:34.580 I came here to fight for freedom because this is so important.

00:41:39.580 Without freedom, it's not a country anymore.

00:41:44.580 I want our freedoms back, and we got some of them, but not all of them.

00:41:47.580 So we're going to keep coming back till we're free.

00:41:52.580 I'm here to fight for everybody's rights.

00:41:54.580 We stand against the mandates.

00:41:56.580 We still get any vaccines against any population control, digital ID.

00:42:01.580 And everybody go to their normal life.

00:42:06.580 You still have to mask on TTC.

00:42:10.580 And, of course, the federal mandates, which the whole convoy started over, are still in place.

00:42:15.580 I can't fly back home to Calgary without a VAX passport.

00:42:19.580 I can't take via rail without the VAX passport.

00:42:22.580 So we still don't have our charter rights of freedom of mobility back.

00:42:25.580 Even after all of this is done, we really need to make sure that there's some kind of a review done,

00:42:30.580 that we never end up in this type of situation again.

00:42:33.580 I'm here for the freedom, right?

00:42:34.580 We just want all mandates to be over.

00:42:37.580 Because so-called government is lifting mandates,

00:42:41.580 but I know people, my friends, who are still losing their employment.

00:42:45.580 So this is not right.

00:42:47.580 I need to see my mom in India.

00:42:49.580 I can fly out of the country.

00:42:51.580 I love this country.

00:42:52.580 But all of a sudden, this is a country I don't know.

00:42:56.580 It's like the country I come from, like China.

00:43:01.580 I cannot travel.

00:43:03.580 I cannot go to the restaurant.

00:43:05.580 I cannot go anywhere without vaccination.

00:43:08.580 But this is my personal choice. 0.93

00:43:11.580 This is so ridiculous. 0.94

00:43:13.580 It's been two years. 0.77

00:43:15.580 How do you feel about Trudeau traveling to the EU despite domestic restrictions still being in place for us?

00:43:27.580 Well, that's a great question.

00:43:29.580 I just love the fact that that woman spoke real truth calling him out, basically. 0.99

00:43:33.580 Unfortunately, he's sort of a clown, a puppet. 0.99

00:43:36.580 I think it's a big clown show. 0.97

00:43:38.580 I think he's just trying to put on a nice show for everybody, 0.90

00:43:43.580 trying to have his little power grab, have his little spotlight.

00:43:46.580 He thinks he's a celebrity.

00:43:47.580 It's what he really wants.

00:43:48.580 He wants to be a Hollywood celeb.

00:43:50.580 It's really what he wants.

00:43:51.580 He should just come out and admit it.

00:43:53.580 Maybe go take some acting classes.

00:43:55.580 He might do a little better in his speeches.

00:44:00.580 How do you feel the coalition is going to affect these mandates?

00:44:04.580 The coalition is probably the worst thing that's ever happened to Canada.

00:44:07.580 And unfortunately, too bad for Canadians that it's probably not going to be getting any better sooner because of this.

00:44:17.580 I personally don't see the mandates going away without a fight.

00:44:22.580 And it's just, again, it's one of those shocking things that have happened.

00:44:27.580 It's wrong.

00:44:29.580 It shouldn't have happened.

00:44:30.580 There should be laws in place to prevent parties from joining.

00:44:34.580 That's not what voters voted for.

00:44:35.580 Even if you are a part of those parties, that's not, I'm assuming that's not what they wanted.

00:44:40.580 It actually, it concerns me greatly, mostly because I'm a federal employee, 30 years, forced on to leave.

00:44:48.580 And so while I've been adding my name to every petition that I can of any politician that's been trying to get it brought forward,

00:44:57.580 I'm really concerned that he's going to not back down.

00:45:01.580 And now that he has the NDP support, there's nothing that the others can do.

00:45:05.580 Do you think that Canada will be free again?

00:45:17.580 Do you believe that we will get there?

00:45:19.580 Yeah, I have the faith.

00:45:20.580 And I think Canada is a God-blessed country.

00:45:24.580 And even, you know, at some song, we have that God make this country glorious and free.
