Rebel News Podcast - EZRA LEVANT ｜ Exposing the antisemitic poison contaminating Western universities

00:00:00.000 yesterday we took so much footage in our visit to columbia university we need a second day to tell

00:00:21.640 you the whole story and believe it or not today we got more footage from another hamas protest

00:00:27.820 raid in the fashion institute of technology that happened just as we were driving by

00:00:34.120 tonight we'll show you more of the story of anti-semitism colonizing western universities

00:00:41.020 shame on you you sensorism bug

00:00:57.820 you know i suppose when they're not riding burning or assaulting it's still a lovely place to go to

00:01:17.400 university i mean look at that library have you ever seen a library like that in your life

00:01:23.360 other than perhaps in ancient alexandria look at this this is another library homer herodotus

00:01:29.960 sophocles plato aristotle demosthenes cicero virgil do you think any of the people in this encampment

00:01:36.620 even know who those dead white men are let alone think they could learn from them 0.59

00:01:42.760 pearls before swine they say imagine centuries of learning wasted on these likes 0.79

00:01:53.240 unbelievable

00:01:54.740 divest from apartheid cancel the tel aviv global center i've been to tel aviv i've been to all of

00:02:11.900 israel and most of israel and i know that it is not apartheid in fact it's the only state in the region

00:02:17.840 where both jews and muslims have citizenship in fact there's the arabs in the knesset and the

00:02:26.340 supreme court i i think that one of the reasons why these folks in this group keep saying talk to our

00:02:33.400 leader talk to our spokesman is because they don't actually know much more than a few chanted lines

00:02:38.880 and there's some guy who's been pestering you we haven't really been able to get into your character of miles

00:02:43.400 you've either been recognized by people who know you from your real life or or some other guy

00:02:49.060 very stressful i can't do my guy this is maybe why i had to retire miles is because i keep getting

00:02:55.100 ripped out of the character i think you're you're quite recognized right there yeah well should we

00:03:01.440 try one more time yeah i mean whenever you're engaging with these guys i can tell that your inner

00:03:05.200 anger you're not able to suppress it with because you're just so disgusted with what you see

00:03:10.640 and so you instead of keeping in character as miles i'm seeing the gavin mckinnon i just hate 0.98

00:03:17.440 students so much i hate them i hate that guy's bare feet i hate his kafaya i hate their expensive 0.98

00:03:25.020 tents i'm just seething you know i i went to a a fine university i'm not criticizing i went to a local 0.92

00:03:32.100 university called university of calgary and then i went to university of alberta and they were pretty

00:03:36.760 affordable i actually remember what my tuition was at law school was eight thousand bucks a year

00:03:40.300 to go to law school u of a and i got a good education and i met wonderful people but being

00:03:45.900 in this i mean this is european style like like that library reminds me of i mean this isn't quite

00:03:53.460 oxford but this is in a league of elite scholarship and academics and for these people to use it as a 0.87

00:04:02.380 latrine that's what makes me angry i don't hate students i hate the woke students that are pissing 0.98

00:04:08.620 away this gem like the fool that threw a pearl back into the ocean how are you i'm ezra levant i'm 0.98

00:04:18.180 here from rebel news and i'm mad about this are you guys students here oh yeah would you talk on camera 0.98

00:04:23.140 no about what about what's going on here but whatever you want to talk about yes you guys look

00:04:28.460 like brothers what's your name i'm keelan cornegay nice to meet you what's your name bailey cornegay

00:04:34.460 you guys are twins you say i can tell you look pretty sporty what's your opinion i'm i'm from

00:04:39.480 canada i've come down here i got some opinions as an outsider you guys are students here yes sir

00:04:44.160 yes sir where are you from where are you from georgia georgia i'm guessing if he's from georgia

00:04:49.220 you're from georgia well give me it straight up you guys seem like regular guys yeah i mean

00:04:54.260 if you ask me it's not my favorite thing in the world you know i i'm not gonna say you can't

00:04:59.220 protest but i think that it's it's honestly like they're just disrupting so much to be quite honest

00:05:04.800 it's just like finals are all messed up classes are messed up we're going virtual stuff like that

00:05:09.600 these things have just like it just kind of stresses the regular student out like especially with like

00:05:14.880 the football on top of it we're like going doing this and that and this is all going on we have to

00:05:19.240 worry about whether we can get in through this gate that gate we're all closed off it's like

00:05:23.540 it kind of feels like we don't have a have our own it's not our school anymore in a way let me ask

00:05:28.660 you this i know that you know there's protest but then there's some being some what i would call

00:05:34.280 anti-semitic actions are you aware of any jewish kids or other kids who think i don't want to even

00:05:39.780 go to school anymore because i feel you know like like it's not my place that's what all the professors

00:05:44.380 like that's why we're all doing a bunch of virtual stuff now because these jewish these jewish kids are 0.99

00:05:48.940 scared you know that's the problem that's what i think i think it's all great when people you know

00:05:53.140 express their you know their their rights and stuff like that but like i feel like this is just

00:05:57.260 taking a step forward just step a little too far you know the anti-semitic stuff is like just not

00:06:01.840 it's not cool you know i i didn't go to a gorgeous school like this i went to a good school i'm not

00:06:07.480 putting down my school in any way but seeing this beautiful place and just i'm sort of homesick for

00:06:14.260 what i didn't have you know and i what's on my mind is these guys getting an amazing opportunity

00:06:20.680 and using it for this instead that's what and i'm not even from here but i feel that way yeah

00:06:26.940 our dad our dad also he's uh from africa immigrated here when he was 17 and he went to college here and

00:06:34.840 he thinks the same thing he thinks sort of like just a bunch of i'd say probably privileged kids that

00:06:39.420 don't really know a whole lot about the situation that they're just there to fight and be in

00:06:44.080 something i guess and so these kids are just using this money from the school from banks and

00:06:50.200 from their parents and stuff like that and kind of just wasting it away and just kind of

00:06:54.220 just using it towards something that just they could do in another way

00:06:57.760 we all commit to remain grounded in why we enter the space can journalists go in there

00:07:07.660 the students are asking that journalists listen to the press conference over there and there will

00:07:12.020 be an opportunity to ask questions over there from the students who are participating in the

00:07:16.100 encampment now there's probably like a hundred reporters so i don't think it's likely that i'd

00:07:20.540 be able to get my question i'm just here to de-escalate i don't actually know why you're filming me

00:07:24.560 i'm just here to de-escalate and help keep everyone calm your best i'm so calm i'm almost asleep

00:07:29.220 your best opportunity for talking to the students is to go over there you can ask questions at the press

00:07:34.260 briefing are you a student here you know i'm i'm surprised to see some asian kids in there and i

00:07:44.020 know that's sort of a stereotype but i i know that a lot of immigrant families who come to america

00:07:51.960 and the first generation works their butt off at a maybe a convenience store working 100 hours a week

00:07:58.940 so their kids can get into a great school like columbia parents scrape together the money

00:08:05.480 and then to have their kids piss away their money here it's sort of shocking to me

00:08:12.120 i don't think i am i don't think i'm i don't think i'm making it hard for anyone to

00:08:18.580 interact you're the only one who's saying that

00:08:20.680 i don't know i i used to think that you know that i think that phrase in chinese is bites wall if i'm 0.99

00:08:28.320 remembering white correctly which is a chinese term for uh a term of derision to mock uh stupid white 0.94

00:08:37.240 liberals woke white liberals who take their own case against themselves and i i think though by looking 0.99

00:08:44.100 at the kids inside it's every demographic background it's uh sort of sad in a way that

00:08:51.260 new immigrant communities are being co-opted by woke anti-semitism i find that a little bit sad

00:08:56.800 no sorry your press you have a microphone my microphone that guy's a jew okay just like that 1.00

00:09:03.680 you gotta go you gotta leave that's also against our community guidelines thank you no you gotta go

00:09:08.780 you gotta get out of here thanks a lot you gotta get out of here they won't let me in because i'm 0.56

00:09:13.740 a jew and they won't let you in because you don't because i'm anti-semitic they really have both ends 0.99

00:09:18.780 of this thing covered that's the world and we know that we are on the right side of the issue

00:09:25.340 they've been standing strong um you know with with their their their fellow students um and are

00:09:32.140 committed to um standing in solidarity with the people of gaza and palestinians more largely i think what

00:09:37.100 the students here are trying to do is remind the world that there's a genocide happening in gaza

00:09:42.940 um our politicians our president even seems to continue to try to take attention away from that

00:09:48.700 and attention away from his active complicity in arming israel and engaging in this in this genocide 0.52

00:09:54.140 um and the fact that these students have gotten their attention i think is incredibly impressive um and

00:09:59.420 hopefully we'll pressure them to put their attention back to the people of gaza are you guys willing to 0.98

00:10:04.540 talk to us on camera come the answer is over there thank you what me the answer is no thank you

00:10:11.180 can i ask why nope no thank you i mean you're protesters so i presume you have a message to

00:10:15.900 elaborate no thank you we don't want to speak with the press is that because you don't really know why

00:10:20.780 you're here no thank you we were in the middle of a conversation thank you how long have you guys been

00:10:26.380 hanging out here no thank you we don't want to speak with the press that's enough we said no just keep

00:10:30.700 no thank you we don't want to speak with the press have i triggered you no thank you we don't want to

00:10:34.860 speak with the press okay all right well i'm having some trouble talking to the palestinian activists

00:10:43.260 there's absolutely no trouble talking we have media trained personnel right there you're perfectly

00:10:48.300 licensed to go over there and talk to them some of these people here are not media trained yeah i know

00:10:54.300 and i've heard that i don't know what media training has to do with just saying what they believe in

00:10:59.580 their heart these people have been well versed on what we believe in our hearts and they can they're

00:11:03.580 relaying it right there i don't know why you're not going over there listen i can take you over here

00:11:07.260 there's a we have a tent encampment here it's sort of like chaz remember chaz chop yeah the capitol hill

00:11:13.740 autonomous zone in seattle yeah it was called chaz until people started making fun of us because of chaz bono

00:11:19.740 so we changed it to chop but um this this this doesn't have a name yet we a lot of people are calling

00:11:26.380 it tent town and uh it's just a way to oppose transatlantic slave trade and colonialism and uh

00:11:34.460 obviously to oppose the genocide going on in israel right now so we have all the uh community

00:11:41.420 guidelines written out there who wrote those guidelines we all came up with it together

00:11:46.380 was it like a vote or something yeah we don't wear shoes shoes are not a big deal for us

00:11:50.860 you'll notice we have very high quality tents where did those come from who who paid for the tent

00:11:56.220 uh our parents uh our parents mostly but it rains here it's as you can see where we have we practice

00:12:03.100 what's called back security where you can oppose someone using their back and uh yeah we have seminars

00:12:09.900 in there we have bongo drums we have security in two layers of security and women first then men yep 1.00

00:12:17.420 and uh yeah so it's even if you tried bum-rushing the show we wouldn't let you in and a lot of it is

00:12:24.940 just hanging around uh we've been trying to put some tarps on a tent here using tape and it's not going

00:12:30.300 well because none of us have actually had a job before so we don't know how to do stuff or outdoorsy

00:12:35.100 people not really i mean this you'll notice a lot of these tents are brand new so it's the first time

00:12:39.660 they've been used but uh we're learning as we go demilitarized education mean well see this is where

00:12:48.300 media training comes in handy so to demilitarize education means to to have a pedagogy that teaches

00:12:56.700 uh that war is wrong a lot of the history a lot of the the pedagogy at the school will promote

00:13:03.180 colonialism and we talk about it through the prism of genocide so world war one was genocide world war

00:13:10.300 two is genocide vietnam was genocide of the vietnamese people israel is a giant genocide you're 0.74

00:13:15.340 talking about the obvious stuff like history and politics but what about math or physics how do you

00:13:21.100 demilitarize how do you queer mathematics how do you queer physics you make it available to other 0.90

00:13:27.980 people if you look at the fields medals not one homosexual has ever run the run the fields medal in 0.96

00:13:32.620 mathematics why is that because of home sure probably you wouldn't know i bet i bet not i've

00:13:39.580 seen the pictures of them they don't look gay their whole movie about touring or something yeah that was 0.97

00:13:44.060 bullshit that's what that's part of the thing we want to do to demilitarize try to get you won't try 0.98

00:13:50.620 to get through there you won't have a hope in hell no they're they're highly trained yeah that's why we do 0.99

00:13:56.700 that that's why we have security here normally protesters want to talk to people um

00:14:02.460 what do you why do you think everyone here is so shy because we don't want to give nazis a platform

00:14:06.940 so we have media trained people that again are over there you can work with them and it's fine but

00:14:12.460 i think you know if you have any questions it's all right there financial divestment academic boycott

00:14:19.900 so we don't let any israelis in the school i guess uh don't invest in israel and then uh stop displacing

00:14:28.140 palestinians on campus and no police on campus and in the silence but from media trained people

00:14:38.140 it seems pretty obvious to me well um we're in the center of the university and as you saw the

00:14:45.260 university has resumed although i think a lot of it is done virtually you saw those two twin brothers

00:14:52.220 um in the football program here who were upset by the disruption that said there are a lot of

00:14:57.260 students here if i had to estimate the number of people in the uh in the autonomous zone i'd i'd

00:15:05.980 probably say it's only a couple hundred um it's it feels like it's professionally organized obviously

00:15:13.820 the tents are paid for by a third party you can see so many of them are new and expensive and of the

00:15:19.820 same kind they have quote media spokesman which is not a normal thing for a grassroots organic

00:15:27.260 protest movement this is a controlled orchestrated movement it has a bit of an antifa vibe too and i'm

00:15:33.500 sure there's a lot of overlap um i uh i'm sure it's different at nights uh when when we've seen just

00:15:42.940 shocking footage of fires and physical assaults and the targeting of jews i don't know if that those

00:15:49.100 jews will be coming back if i was visibly jewish that is if i had you know were a yarmulke or or 1.00

00:15:56.540 other indicia that i was jewish i don't know how comfortable i'd be walking by this pit of anti-semites 0.58

00:16:03.180 i think the number one thing that still still is striking to me is how this center of absolute wealth

00:16:10.860 and privilege the most privileged 0.01 of society who are given the opportunity to come to this

00:16:18.300 university prefer to sit in squalor in an anti-semitic encampment any and anti-semitic is just part of it

00:16:27.100 i mean anti-western anti-liberal there's a real difference between being liberal and being progressive

00:16:32.540 isn't that i i don't know i i i suppose in some sense i thought i would have a chance to interact

00:16:40.140 um but that was my mistake in assuming this was a genuine grassroots protest this is a highly

00:16:46.780 organized financed orchestrated public event and the fact that the university has not simply cleared

00:16:55.500 these folks out after days and days suggests that they have plenty of support both in the faculty

00:17:01.900 and in the administration can i ask you a question

00:17:07.260 do your do your parents know you're here do your parents know you're here

00:17:19.340 i wonder if the parents know they're here

00:17:20.940 you know almost all of them cover their face and of course there's a political overlap between

00:17:29.740 people who were terrified by covid thought wearing a mask was a sign of their moral righteousness

00:17:36.460 and thought in fact it was a partisan statement against right-wing skeptics or dissidents

00:17:43.020 so for sure a lot of people here would probably be wearing that mask anyways but i think it's for

00:17:48.380 a more practical purpose i think these people here have decided to cast their lot with racists and

00:17:56.940 anarchists and anti-semites and they probably don't want their face shown because you know this is an

00:18:05.420 elite university and you know some of these kids will wind up being you know unemployable sociologists or

00:18:12.540 whatever but this is a place that surely is recruited by consulting firms like mckinsey by senior law firms

00:18:21.900 and if your mama and daddy paid 100 grand canadian a year to get you in this university and you decided

00:18:28.700 to go on a lark with a bunch of neo-nazis you know condemning jews to death verbally i don't think you

00:18:37.500 would want your face to be seen by prospective employers either i think that's what the masks are

00:18:42.540 about

00:18:52.140 can you please tell us your name yes sarnoy zilberman and are you a student here at columbia i'm a student

00:18:57.820 here at columbia i'm a third year gs student it is the school of general studies and are you jewish i'm

00:19:04.860 jewish i'm also australia and what has it been like on campus in recent days and weeks it has been

00:19:13.500 very challenging with everything happening we had days in which we did not feel safe to come to campus

00:19:19.580 i do not feel safe for a while now to come to classes what happens in classes so far nothing had

00:19:27.580 happened but honestly a lot of my fellow students are here in the camp and what do people say or do

00:19:37.020 that makes you uncomfortable very aggressive messages very extreme messages if it is from the

00:19:43.820 river to the sea if it is to globalize the antifada antifada as an israeli student this is part of my

00:19:51.020 history this is something that i don't understand the meaning of it it means a pogrom it means a

00:19:57.500 violent riot and who would say these things so students and people who have been able to

00:20:05.020 come into campus who are not students and people from the administration and even professors

00:20:11.900 now i find that some of these protesters don't know anything they're just repeating mantras that

00:20:21.420 they're not well informed and they're just following a mob is that inaccurate or is it a mix are there

00:20:28.940 some like i imagine there are some experts but i feel like a lot of these students are don't know what

00:20:34.700 they're doing but they're caught up in a movement am i wrong am i giving them too much credit i think that

00:20:40.300 a good amount of the people here have been misled and they receive misinformation and that is what

00:20:47.900 leads them to believe what they believe and they are extremely handy and they do not realize the bigger

00:20:53.740 picture and how much it does impact everyone around them now i see the posters of the kidnapped israelis

00:21:02.380 and i see an israeli flag and an american flag it's startling to see the juxtaposition of that

00:21:09.580 with the anti-israel encampment there did you just put these up or do these stay unvandalized because

00:21:18.300 i would imagine with those people there and with the way you've described things that these would

00:21:23.100 be ripped down in an hour if they weren't guarded you give a lot of credit if you think that it would

00:21:28.300 have happened in an hour usually it's in a matter of a few minutes and i'm talking from experience

00:21:34.060 i would first of all they've been put it here uh yesterday afternoon by my friends they stayed here

00:21:43.260 because there are a lot of journalists around that are recording everything and i believe that they

00:21:47.420 just don't want to be seen as doing that but uh out of campus they do it immediately and what's the

00:21:56.060 jewish population of colombia is it uh five percent or ten percent uh like it would i would guess in

00:22:02.700 your heart of new york it's an excellent school are there a lot of jews here we are a very close

00:22:09.660 community we very much care about each other but we're not the majority i would guess that we're

00:22:15.660 less than five percent well we're walking away from the unhygienic shantytown and um it wasn't what i

00:22:22.380 it wasn't what i thought i thought my chief emotion would be anger and and and those associated

00:22:29.180 emotions but it's actually contempt contempt for how gross they are how docile they are how um

00:22:38.220 how un inauthentic it is how none of them have the courage or knowledge to speak they all have their

00:22:44.140 spokesmen how they're pissing away a hundred thousand dollar canadian year education i leave here with

00:22:50.060 contempt i i leave here with um a dead brother miles mckinnis i think is retired those were all

00:22:57.100 way more absurd than miles was so i can't do that character anymore you're right he's been dwarfed i

00:23:04.460 remember when you did miles mckinnis with us five six years ago it was so funny because it was a

00:23:09.100 exaggeration it was an exaggeration and there's a lot of comedy in absurd exaggeration now you are the

00:23:16.140 most normal person there miles would be like a cool tough smart guy in that crowd like it's not funny

00:23:23.260 because because it's just it's just who they are now whereas five years ago it was a mockery of who

00:23:29.500 they were that's amazing that the left has become a character of itself and it's taken seriously by so

00:23:36.700 many though and by the way one of the ladies who was blocking us from entry there uh she said to someone 1.00

00:23:43.340 else that she's a professor here she's not a student here she's a professor being an enforcer 1.00

00:23:47.900 oh really yeah the lady with the uh the shorter lady with the blue uh face mat ah yeah they're just
