Rebel News Podcast - EZRA LEVANT ｜ There’s a very interesting candidate running for president of France...

00:00:00.000 tonight there's a very interesting candidate running for president of france the media lies

00:00:20.940 about him i'll let him speak for himself it's december 6th and this is the ezra levant show

00:00:26.020 why should others go to jail when you're a biggest carbon consumer i know there's 8 500 customers

00:00:33.760 here and you won't give them an answer the only thing i have to say to the government

00:00:37.980 is because it's my bloody right to do so

00:00:41.940 look at this man he has an interesting face don't you think he's a dream come true to political

00:00:53.120 cartoonists his face is so easy to exaggerate if you had to guess his ethnicity what would you say

00:01:01.220 i'm telling you that he's running for the presidency of france

00:01:05.060 he's in third place in a field of seven front-rank candidates the president right now emmanuel macron

00:01:13.980 is at just 24 but this man is at 14 and unlike the others this is his first time out

00:01:21.680 it's why he's being compared to donald trump

00:01:24.400 the reason i ask you to guess his ethnicity is that although i think he could fairly be called a

00:01:31.240 french nationalist probably a french chauvinist a france first candidate

00:01:37.040 if i can make up a phrase he's not ethnically french he's not descended from the gauls

00:01:42.980 doesn't look like napoleon does he his name is eric zemmour and although he himself was born in france

00:01:51.580 his parents most definitely were not they're algerian jews arab jews who moved to france

00:01:59.240 because of the civil war in algeria zemmour is brilliant obviously

00:02:02.420 and maybe you could even say he's more french than france he's called right wing he's a son of

00:02:09.960 immigrants he married to a daughter of immigrants but he is worried that unlike his wife and himself

00:02:16.060 immigration to france today does not assimilate he assimilated better than many french-born frenchmen

00:02:23.200 and he um despairs of what he sees

00:02:26.580 he wrote a book called the suicide of france it sold half a million copies other books include

00:02:34.380 france hasn't said its last word and the coup d'etat of the judges

00:02:40.040 those are interesting titles to me aren't they interesting to you and unlike trump or most other politicians

00:02:47.660 to whom he's being compared he is clearly his own speech writer his whole life has been as a

00:02:53.940 journalist and public intellectual that's a french thing isn't it a uk thing maybe sometimes but

00:02:59.140 we don't really have public intellectuals run for office in north america that's a pretty french thing

00:03:06.020 he's controversial obviously he's the son of an arab jew from algeria but he doesn't like

00:03:12.420 the failure to integrate of the new generation of immigrants and he's repeatedly being convicted

00:03:18.460 and fined for inciting hatred and he's been acquitted and had many of his convictions overturned

00:03:25.740 on appeal literally a dozen altogether they're trying to shut him up i don't think it's working

00:03:32.440 uh in fact um he's running for president but literally last month another trial against him started

00:03:40.700 his enemies call him right-wing but they're the ones who want to censor his freedom of speech if he were a left-winger

00:03:49.020 i think he'd be called an immigrant person of color but he's right-wing so they

00:03:53.500 hate him and smear him and uh yet he's in third place enough of my preamble i want to show you

00:04:01.180 his remarkable speech where he declared his candidacy again the american and the british media compare him

00:04:06.620 to trump because they compare everything to trump there is no one they miss more in the world than trump

00:04:13.180 everyone is boring compared to trump everyone is to be measured plus or minus from trump

00:04:18.860 they're more obsessed with trump than even trump supporters are i don't know if you saw this in the

00:04:24.380 globe and mail uh i laughed so hard when i saw that awful former liberal justice minister alan rock

00:04:30.780 warn in the globe and mail that trump is lurking thanks buddy someone who really cared about

00:04:36.620 democracy might have something to say about oh i don't know china or iran or venezuela or frankly

00:04:42.620 the reduction of our own civil liberties but that that old liberal allen rock has his trump fantasies to

00:04:48.060 keep him warm at night but back to zamur when trump made his announcement he came down that golden

00:04:55.580 escalator at trump tower and he gave a great speech by the way and it was fun and high energy and a sign

00:05:00.780 of the razzle dazzle impromptu campaign to come but look at zamur by contrast sitting down at a desk reading a

00:05:08.780 speech not even from a teleprompter but looking down reading from a piece of paper he's sitting down

00:05:14.940 at a desk reading from notes he doesn't have the trumpy charisma that's part of his message don't

00:05:21.260 believe the charismatic fancy people anymore don't believe the media don't believe france's president

00:05:26.700 emmanuel macron who has the personality of mark zuckerberg believe this small intellectual man an

00:05:32.860 ink-stained wretch a provocateur who won't shut up someone who talks about the real things let me play 0.76

00:05:38.380 for you some excerpts from his announcement video i saw it it had nearly two million views in its first

00:05:44.060 day i tweeted an arab jew throws his hat in the ring for the french presidency with a patriotic

00:05:50.940 flourish that references napoleon and de gaulle 1.5 million views on youtube you don't need to speak

00:05:56.460 french to understand it i predict youtube will de-platform him tomorrow that's what i predicted

00:06:02.220 i was slightly wrong they didn't fully de-platform him they merely marked his content restricted at all

00:06:09.340 as if it were pornography or something like that so that only adults can watch it but first you have

00:06:15.020 to log in and create a an account with youtube improve your age or whatever probably cut the

00:06:20.700 audience uh way down just for the hassle of going through that process but nearly three million french

00:06:26.220 people have watched it anyways here take a look to see what all the fuss is about

00:08:57.100 êtes des exilés de l'intérieur i think that's true i feel that way in canada mainly about the

00:09:02.940 pandemic but about other things to a degree to not as much as things have been lost in france i've

00:09:09.580 seen the change there it's shocking here it's more incremental and listen to this who else but him

00:09:56.000 he means it on a deep historical cultural and ethnic basis even though he himself is not ethnically french

00:10:03.080 although he clearly believes in france with every drop of his blood the next line is the one that gets me

00:13:36.020 remplacer what do you do when a visible minority religious minority son of immigrants says that

00:13:41.300 can you write them off as racist that's what the media party that's what the establishment says

00:13:48.200 about them and then a prediction

00:14:34.040 et surtout vive la France well that's taking a stand he's like the photo negative of canada's

00:14:40.780 Aaron O'Toole a man who stands for nothing Zemmour stands for many things fiercely right or wrong

00:14:46.240 he'll tell you what he believes and he didn't just cook this up on the basis of a new poll

00:14:50.620 he's believed these things for decades made the case for decades written books about i've been

00:14:55.720 punished and prosecuted for these ideas for decades even if you disagree with them he's no liar

00:15:01.360 a few days ago after that video i saw this tweet announcing a huge rally with what looked like

00:15:09.700 thousands of chairs and inviting the public to attend it was in the outskirts of Paris and i thought

00:15:15.000 that's a bit Trumpy will he get Trump-sized crowds clearly he's not into the social distancing mask

00:15:21.760 business i don't know his position on those things but i can sort of see how he acts

00:15:25.780 but in the back of my mind i wondered if they'll do to him what they did to Trump remember

00:15:30.920 when Trump had that rally in Chicago how the gangs descended on it indistinguishable from the

00:15:37.880 democratic party the violence i wondered if it would be like that and it was but look at this

00:15:44.980 language here this is from twitter violent scenes break out at rally for french presidential candidate

00:15:51.320 eric zemmour does violence just break out like a rash or something sounds accidental or passive or

00:15:57.380 random did violence break out or like at Trump's Chicago rally where antifa thugs sent to break out the

00:16:03.820 violence here violence erupts like it was a volcano or something it erupted here's another report from

00:16:11.880 a german state media company saying zemmour was far right okay but it doesn't label the people who

00:16:17.680 broke out the violence does it they don't have an insult attached to their name here's the disgraceful

00:16:22.200 afp they say anti-racism advocates were beaten up at a french presidential rally for far right tv

00:16:28.780 pundit eric zemmour while in paris thousands marched to denounce his views got it so the people

00:16:34.640 who broke out the violence were anti-racism advocates even though they had crashed an event

00:16:39.560 featuring an arab jew son of immigrants a person of color okay got it here's reuters um here's some

00:16:47.520 video published by reuters looks like the antifa protesters were right there inside the event

00:16:53.960 they weren't protesting outside they went inside imagine blaming that on the people hosting the

00:16:58.860 event if trump supporters infiltrated a joe biden rally not that he had rallies and then got into a

00:17:05.120 fight do you think the headlines would read the same way but look at this

00:17:09.960 paris french far-right presidential candidate eric zemmour was left lightly injured after being

00:17:17.340 assaulted at his first campaign rally on sunday where fighting also broke out during his speech in front of

00:17:22.820 thousands of supporters oh i thought it was the bad zemmour supporters who were the violent ones

00:17:28.420 but someone actually injured zemmour himself oh but it was lightly injured was it that's funny

00:17:34.200 breaking zemmour the candidate has been injured just before his first meeting he must rest for nine days

00:17:40.640 oh lightly injured to stay at home for nine days really you know they tried prosecuting him and

00:17:47.580 fining him youtube is censoring him his opponents are infiltrating his events i wonder how far they'll

00:17:53.420 go to stop this arab jew who loves france i don't know much about him not much more than i've told you 0.74

00:18:00.300 today perhaps he is awful i don't know but the people against him they i know are awful but what will

00:18:08.540 they do is stop him it wouldn't shock me if they did what they did to jair bolsonaro the president of

00:18:13.980 brazil do you remember this from the campaign trail shocking stabbed him on the campaign trail nearly

00:18:21.420 killed him lost so much blood that injury still hobbles him an inch over would have killed him

00:18:27.260 they'll do whatever they can to stop bolsonaro the same people hate zemmour this is a race to watch

00:18:33.660 stay with us for more

00:18:48.460 hey why do people who have one two or three booster shots still have to wear masks

00:18:58.620 what's the logic behind it i mean one answer is that the vaccines we've discovered don't

00:19:03.340 actually stop you from catching the virus or transmitting the virus or even getting sick

00:19:08.940 but there's another answer that i see in national review kevin hassett is the author he says if the

00:19:15.180 vaccine is so effective with hospitalization probabilities near zero for people in my age

00:19:20.140 group who are vaccinated then how can it be that the scolds continue to hold so much power over me and he

00:19:27.100 he gives this answer he says the answer of course is that the section of our ruling class

00:19:32.860 a notion that broadly defined expands far beyond our legislatures that wants to take away our

00:19:37.820 freedoms and control our lives found in tony fauci the perfect device for mass oppression

00:19:46.220 and he goes on a bit and then he switches gears and talks about climate change

00:19:52.220 as terrible as the virus has been nobody has claimed that it will destroy the earth as we know it

00:19:57.180 the same cannot be said for the climate i won't read any more of this article but the point is

00:20:04.220 the training the obedience conditioning that we've all gone through that nothing is ever enough that

00:20:10.300 whatever you do is not enough and that the state of crisis is permanent is a lesson that the climate

00:20:16.460 extremists have learned from the vaccine extremists and here to join us now about the terrifying thought

00:20:22.860 of death by a thousand climate fauci's that's his words is our friend mark morano the boss of climate depot.com

00:20:30.540 a thousand climate fauci's now that's the stuff of nightmares

00:20:35.180 it is and unfortunately i think robert f kennedy jr said it best he's the j edgar hoover of public health

00:20:42.620 uh he really is and he is he is now going to get his tentacles into every aspect of american life

00:20:48.940 i don't know if this was known in august of 2020 ezra anthony fauci wrote a co-authored in a in a

00:20:57.100 epidemiological journal uh article that said covet 19 is due to quote extreme backlashes from nature

00:21:05.260 and he went on this is fauci writing in a peer-reviewed journal covet will require changes in human

00:21:11.340 behavior and other radical changes rebuilding the infrastructure of human existence unquote

00:21:18.780 the exact words of johnny fauci in a peer-reviewed medical journal that is a thousand fauci's because

00:21:25.660 he is going to get the sinews of bureaucracy into every aspect of our lives and make it permanent

00:21:31.500 that's been their goal this is what fauci said in a journal i even missed this at the time i remember

00:21:36.700 he did something and didn't pay much attention i've just recently gone back and reread it it's it's amazing

00:21:42.300 stuff anthony fauci is a deep state player this was not a man who even just taken advantage of a

00:21:48.540 crisis this is someone who's been waiting for his moment and his moment came in march of 2020.

00:21:55.180 wow well you're gonna have to send me the link for that that journal i mean that is a crazy crazy

00:22:00.380 thing to say but you're right so many of the things that are covid solutions even if they're not actual

00:22:07.180 solutions just happen to be climate solutions lockdown don't travel shutdown industry uh especially

00:22:16.860 even on flights like i mean here we are in canada uh huge vaccination rates but only now they're

00:22:23.980 clamping down on planes and trains and ships in canada's in the world's second largest country you

00:22:30.300 can't get on a plane now if you're not vaxxed is that about a virus is that about control is that about

00:22:37.660 climate i'll tell you one thing it doesn't seem to be about the nature of public health

00:22:41.500 no and this is what they've sought the idea is your rights are conditioned upon whether you are

00:22:47.980 being obedient to the regime in power and that's literally all it is new york city now is going to

00:22:53.740 be doubling down i probably consider new york the mayor of the largest or the the most prominent

00:23:01.740 u.s segregated city i mean this is a racially segregated city now unvaccinated are among

00:23:09.260 blacks and hispanics and the white new york city mayor is doubling down and saying only the vaccinated

00:23:15.820 can go to movies and restaurants and shops and entertainment and etc this is essentially resurrecting 0.75

00:23:23.180 the old segregated south in america in the and it's now in the progressive city of new york and other

00:23:28.940 major cities los angeles and san francisco it's amazing to watch this but here's the good news

00:23:36.220 there are liberals that are waking up to this robert f kennedy jr my new hero a man who wanted

00:23:41.020 to jail climate skeptics naomi wolf max blumenthal max blumenthal with an incredible piece about

00:23:47.420 lockdowns he talks all about how the left has just been largely silent on the greatest human rights

00:23:53.580 violations of what's been going on max blumenthal used to work for media matters he used to work for the

00:23:58.300 nation i'm willing to embrace these political figures jimmy door the pothead comedian self

00:24:04.300 described he used to be on um uh the the what's that show called the young turks the young turks

00:24:10.620 yeah and then you have a whole series of other people from uh uh the hollywood actors and others

00:24:16.140 i'm willing to say it's a new coalition this is no longer left and right those are old paradigm this is

00:24:22.300 for tyranny against tyranny and we are finding many common allies and it just gets wackier and wackier

00:24:29.180 i don't know if you're uh aware that the british columbia doctor who the first doctor to clinically

00:24:34.380 diagnose a patient suffering from climate change this is that whole first step a lady who had a

00:24:39.740 heat exhaustion the whole first step to lead it to the death certificate to get us to that covet like uh

00:24:45.900 you know hysteria which bill gates has said covet will kill far more sorry climate change will kill

00:24:50.540 far more people than any virus they're setting the stage they're not letting go but thankfully we

00:24:56.220 have liberals on our side you know a lot of big name liberals that we can now we need to organize

00:25:02.060 a coalition with them you know i saw that british columbia doctor what's so crazy is that the college

00:25:08.140 of physicians and surgeons is suspending or prosecuting any doctor who strays from the pfizer narrative who

00:25:16.700 talks about alternative uh i when i mean alternative medicine i don't mean like homeopathic yes i mean

00:25:24.620 like alternative prescription meds like ivermectin repurposed medicine from other things yeah yeah

00:25:29.900 so they'll be suspended or prosecuted but some quack talks about a political diagnosis like you're sick

00:25:36.860 from climate change and and he's the celebrity that's super gross yeah by the way he's not he's not just

00:25:43.980 some intern doctor this is the head of the emergency room department at the hospital out in british

00:25:49.340 columbia these are this is not just some obscure country doctor trying to get attention or something

00:25:54.620 this is how wacky it's become but it's it's i i don't know what's happening i just cannot believe

00:26:01.260 that the american political left the large majority of it appeared to be okay with this kind of civil

00:26:07.580 liberties violation and respecting authority uh it's it's there's no end in sight as we go you have

00:26:14.300 major medical major energy reports international energy agency coming out with reports essentially

00:26:19.740 calling for permanent lockdowns for climate they want to restrict freedom of movement make airline

00:26:25.900 travel very expensive so only the wealthy essentially will be able to do it they want to stop building new

00:26:31.020 airports they want to um start locking down every aspect of brit business insider magazine said electric

00:26:38.300 cars aren't enough we have to get rid of private car ownership and regular cars they're actually just

00:26:44.220 not even trying to disguise their agenda at this point yeah you know it's it's incredible

00:26:51.020 i think you're right to point out that the segregation that's come it's not just segregation based on

00:26:57.820 the choice of people who are vaccine hesitant or or for health reasons don't want to or for whatever

00:27:04.860 reason it does break on racial lines and there's historical reasons for that and cultural reasons for

00:27:11.580 that but in the the great city of new york um i think it's up to 40 percent of black people are not vaxxed

00:27:20.700 they will they'll be the servant class of these progressive leftist white liberals um it's it's

00:27:29.020 just it's just incredible how what's happening and the silence of most liberals you you name robert

00:27:37.020 f kennedy jr naomi wolf the communist max blumenthal he's not even a liberal he's a he's a communist jimmy 0.61

00:27:44.460 door it is amazing to see these people stand up but for every one of them there's a thousand

00:27:52.380 liberals and democratic party members who were silent where's the my body my choice people

00:27:57.740 where's the i'm skeptical of big pharma people where's the i want to stand up for the working

00:28:03.340 man in a union against the corporation changing the terms of his collective agreement on him

00:28:08.540 um you know foisting new terms on him you've listed some wonderful people that i agree with you

00:28:15.180 but there's a million people you haven't listed because they've just shucked off all their beliefs

00:28:20.540 that they claim to have held so dearly they have and they're willing to accept this dystopian vision

00:28:27.420 the surgeon general under joe biden came out today and said how to celebrate christmas this is an example

00:28:33.100 get vaccinated get boosted get get tested before you gather gather in well well ventilated spaces

00:28:39.500 use masks and then you can have a quite uh uh he says utterly it says a quite fulfilling christmas with

00:28:46.300 your family this is the official guidance from the united states government of how to celebrate

00:28:51.900 christmas i just can't imagine any holiday occasion i just can't imagine how liberals from the 1960s

00:28:58.380 would be okay these were the liberals who came out with the with the pentagon papers and they were

00:29:02.620 going after the war machine and the lies of the big establishment and now they accept everything

00:29:07.420 for the big public health establishment this is in it's it's an amazing thing to watch i don't see a

00:29:13.900 way out of this i call it marxism's new face this idea of the the covid lockdown the the climate lockdown

00:29:21.260 i think the reason the liberals the answer to your question is there they have a piece of the power

00:29:27.100 when you think of all the anchors at cnn and you figure this is you know this these are the

00:29:31.660 billionaires play things bill gates gives out all this money so they're essentially on this i hate

00:29:37.180 to say they're they believe this because they have money but they're not offended by it because they're

00:29:41.900 doing so well and this is why corporate america is willing to go along because corporate america

00:29:46.700 is the ones that are benefiting from all of this uh you know it's corporate america and the national

00:29:51.580 chains and the big tech and amazon and walmart they're the ones getting boosted it's the small

00:29:55.500 businesses being crushed and make no mistake build back bankrupt build back better that's what it's all

00:30:00.460 about they want to collapse the old order and rebuild it into this you'll know nothing and be

00:30:05.820 happy great reset vision yeah i mean as we started the same thinking behind uh climate authoritarianism

00:30:15.260 which never really took off is the exact same thinking behind covet authoritarianism so i think

00:30:22.220 journalists can detect oh these are cousins this is related the impact on someone's life is the same

00:30:28.460 um you know it it may be a different argument different facts but the process of authoritarian

00:30:36.460 government decision making is the same a thousand little fauci's i just i wish i didn't read that

00:30:42.220 phrase because it's haunting me mark it's great to see you the website is called climatedepot.com you

00:30:47.820 can see a link to this article in the national review that makes the similarities great to see you keep

00:30:52.460 up the fight i got one last question let me jam it in before you have to go

00:30:55.580 i was talking to a canadian friend and saying when's this going to end and he said it's going

00:31:00.620 to end when america ends because canada so often follows the u.s lead he said

00:31:06.780 that the pendulum is going to swing back in the 2022 midterms he pointed to the results in virginia

00:31:14.300 new jersey recently that you know just one year after biden won the shift is 10 or 15 points away from the

00:31:21.980 democrats partly on client on covet partly on other things and my friend said 2022 you're going to have

00:31:28.780 a blowout in the congress and 2024 you're going to see a republican back in the white house that sure

00:31:34.780 feels like an awfully long time to wait i think he's right we're going to have to wait for america to come

00:31:39.660 to its senses first are you as optimistic as my friend is that america is is sick of not just the

00:31:46.860 inflation and the you know the surrender of afghanistan and and the humiliations around the 0.98

00:31:55.260 world but they're sick of the democrat lockdownism do you think that 2022 and 2024 will bring freedom 0.97

00:32:03.180 i do think there'll be a big pushback the problem is the republican party is so pathetic and the

00:32:07.740 leadership on this issue there's a lot of great senators and congressmen but the capitol hill leadership

00:32:12.060 so they're not drawing that attention but here's the big the larger problem with what they've done

00:32:16.860 with the bureaucracy both with environment social governance the banking system every agency executive

00:32:22.220 orders the deep the administrative state their goal and it's an it's a lofty goal and they probably can

00:32:28.380 achieve it is to make elections irrelevant this is what worries me ezra it doesn't matter who you elect

00:32:33.500 for president prime minister senator congress mayor if the electoral if the bureaucracy behind the scenes

00:32:40.380 wields the real power and the low point of the trump administration was his top

00:32:44.780 financial advisor larry kudlow being asked in april of 2020 when is the economy going to open and he

00:32:49.980 said i don't know that's up to the doctors officials can see that to a the bureaucratic state under public

00:32:57.980 health or climate emergency that's when elections cease to matter and that's what scares me right now is

00:33:03.020 how much strength have they gathered and how easy is even a politician going to be able to undo this

00:33:08.380 when the real power behind this is coming from the bureaucracy the unelected bureaucracy

00:33:13.660 well you're sure right on that mark great to see you thanks for your time today

00:33:17.500 thank you as i appreciate it right there you have it stay with us

00:33:19.820 hey welcome back your viewer feedback nigel waterhouse writes a letter he says in relation

00:33:39.020 to roxham road serious question does anyone ever cross the other way asking for a friend whose church

00:33:45.100 got shut down by the government who's locked out of civil society because he's unvaccinated it is 0.88

00:33:49.660 nuts uh it is not lost on me the people can traipse across their their very first act

00:33:57.100 breaking the law their second act breaking the quarantine covet rules and they're treated like

00:34:03.660 honored guests whereas citizens well you know the prosecutions are absurd they're having jailings

00:34:10.460 someone i think this is a nickname pest 138 that would be an unusual name for your mama to give you

00:34:16.620 the fact that these police officers are going along with this is unbelievable i know a lot of cops

00:34:20.700 here in the u.s and they and their unions have stated flat out that they will not cite or arrest anyone

00:34:25.740 for mask distancing or lockdown shutdown violations for the simple reason they are all unconstitutional

00:34:32.940 well i do note that some cops say that in fact some sheriffs some police union bosses even the odd police chief

00:34:40.860 but there are those who do implement and not as many as in canada or australia or new zealand or the uk

00:34:48.540 i think that's that american spirit of freedom and it cannot be ignored the fact that they have not

00:34:56.460 just the first amendment which respects religion and speech including religious gatherings but also the

00:35:02.860 second amendment if everything goes straight to hell and i mean all the way what's stopping the police

00:35:10.060 from going full police state in australia and the uk the answer is a lot different than in the u.s canada's

00:35:17.260 more like the uk and australia that's our show for today until tomorrow on behalf of all of us here

00:35:24.300 at rebel world headquarters to you at home good night and keep fighting for freedom and let me leave

00:35:28.620 you with this video of the day david menzies talking to unvaccinated and suspended toronto police officers

00:35:34.620 holding a sit-in protest take a look at this family

00:35:41.820 you've been told that the vaccine is akin to part of your uniform that if you don't have the vaccine

00:35:48.940 you actually aren't wearing your entire uniform therefore you're unfit for duty prior to that i was 11

00:35:53.660 years with the canadian military i've been all over this world in the combat unit

00:35:56.780 um protecting the rights and freedoms of of this country and the rights and freedoms of other

00:36:02.060 people you know and i gotta tell you i am a little uh upset that you know the rest of of this nation

00:36:07.340 has not stood up we're taking good men and women that have served us and put their lives on the line

00:36:12.540 on a regular basis and they're being treated like this can i see your security license

00:36:17.180 david menzies for rebel news here in toronto well folks i'm outside the toronto police association

00:36:27.020 office that's effectively the union for members of the toronto police service as you may know more than

00:36:34.780 200 members of the toronto police service that would be officers and administrative staff well they're

00:36:41.180 suspended without pay for refusing to reveal their medical status regarding the covet vaccine or for

00:36:49.820 those who have just said we are not going to get jabbed no matter what you know it's kind of funny

00:36:54.780 isn't it do you know if a police officer is accused of first degree murder he or she is suspended with

00:37:03.180 pay you don't reveal your medical history you are suspended without pay effectively fired and they're

00:37:11.100 going to uh they're congregating right now as you can see and they're going to have a sit-in at 9 a.m

00:37:16.700 which is about half an hour from now and the funny thing is when we got here security guards were

00:37:23.900 already trying to give these police officers the bums rush now i don't know if this was the security guards

00:37:30.940 acting independently or if the toronto police association sicked those security guards on

00:37:37.820 their own members we know that toronto police association president john reid said in a statement

00:37:44.620 that the tpa is quote disappointed that the toronto police service has placed members on unpaid leave

00:37:53.900 for not revealing their vaccination status or not getting vaccinated and a notable

00:38:00.300 member of the force who is suspended is sergeant dave haynes a 20-year veteran and premier doug ford's

00:38:08.940 son-in-law he is one of the suspended masses and get a little of this according to sergeant haynes

00:38:15.660 he said quote there is no provision in the collective agreement for the employer to force employees

00:38:23.500 on unpaid leave end quote so uh as the day goes on we're going to see how this unfolds i can't ever

00:38:31.100 remember members of the toronto police service having a sit-in at their very own union office and

00:38:37.980 already it doesn't look good given that security guards are telling them not to assemble here but like

00:38:44.220 i said we'll be here to see how the day proceeds because yet again the mainstream media they're

00:38:51.500 sitting this one out

00:38:52.460 we felt as though the union hasn't been representing us the way uh our voices need to be heard um there's

00:39:01.900 a lot of particulars about the way this has all have gone down uh as far as uh they've taken away

00:39:08.300 our sick bank time they've taken away our loo time they've taken away all our benefits and uh it's it's

00:39:15.020 just even those small things that we feel could be negotiated and allow us to sort of have a way

00:39:20.700 to live we've been left with essentially nothing my personal opinion is i didn't think that it would

00:39:26.380 come to this i thought that there would be a little bit of leeway accountability because i know

00:39:29.820 that there are individuals here who have received one shot of the vaccine um and uh i won't say that

00:39:37.020 we were given assurances but we were told that they were going to be sitting down the table they're

00:39:40.140 going to be talking and that uh as a sign of good faith that there may have been an extension

00:39:44.780 or there may have been some testing uh uh possibilities coming coming coming through

00:39:49.580 well it just goes to show you the level of um that we're at in today's society when we

00:39:55.260 we're taking good men and women that have served us and put their lives on the line on a regular

00:39:59.980 basis and they're being treated like this i can't believe that uh you know city officials that are

00:40:05.020 treating them like this i mean they were heroes two years ago they were heroes a year ago and today

00:40:10.060 they're just put out here you know in the cold and you know they got families there's a lot of people

00:40:14.140 here here who are not anti-vaxxed apparently there are injured officers who are struggling to

00:40:20.060 get paid accordingly through wsib and uh they're just not taking any liability whatsoever

00:40:31.020 how does this mandate make toronto as safe or any safer than before the mandate i don't think it

00:40:39.020 does uh to be quite honest with you um and i don't think it's a matter of of you know making the

00:40:43.900 citizens of the of the city safe they keep on falling back on the occupational health and safety

00:40:47.740 act saying that they have a duty and responsibility for the safety uh of all the employees which i agree

00:40:54.540 that that's that's you know but i mean we've been working in this capacity doing what we're doing

00:40:59.180 for two years we've been told that the vaccine is akin to part of your uniform that if you don't have the

00:41:06.860 vaccine you actually aren't wearing your entire uniform therefore you're unfit for duty nobody

00:41:11.500 wants to take accountability they're saying take take the vaccine take the back okay fine i'll take

00:41:15.260 the vaccine and if it's wrong or i get hurt or i get injured then you're liable no we're not what has

00:41:21.660 happened to the freedom that we all came to this country for my grandfather left germany in world war ii

00:41:27.340 just when it started he he saw what was coming he could smell it and he left and he saved people and then

00:41:34.540 he came to this country for a better life for us is this a better country is this a better world we

00:41:39.180 really wish the association at the very least would show a little empathy and sympathy towards us our

00:41:43.900 lives our families and that's not happening uh and that that costs nothing i've seen a lot of stuff and

00:41:49.420 prior to that i was 11 years with the canadian military i've been all over this world in the combat

00:41:53.100 unit um protecting the rights and freedoms of of of this country and the rights and freedoms of other

00:41:58.620 people you know and i gotta tell you i am a little uh upset that you know the rest of of this

00:42:03.580 nation has not stood up and at least said something it has been like i said it's not it has nothing to

00:42:09.260 do with vaccines anymore thankfully i've uh i got 32 years in with toronto police and i'm in a good

00:42:15.020 spot and thankfully i have a very supportive partner and family and i'm looking at the possibilities

00:42:21.260 rather than the problem right now and i'm looking for my next best chapter and whatever that is

00:42:26.460 i'm open you know so um i'm trying to be positive like i said there's there's there's been no logic to

00:42:32.220 this david i don't know i don't know you have to move outside oh yeah outside because this is a

00:42:39.340 private property yeah i paid for my car to be on a space here yeah what do you mean it doesn't matter

00:42:44.620 i've paid for a space you paid for a space that's the parking yeah not not the premises so why can't

00:42:51.340 i congregate just a parking lot this is a parking lot okay do you know these are a lot of these people

00:42:56.220 are police officers here okay you have to do it outside but this is a private property so even

00:43:02.300 though these are police officers you're trying to frog march them off the property and these are

00:43:08.140 police officers that are suspended without pay perhaps losing their jobs and you don't care about

00:43:13.980 that you have to do it outside please can i see your security license

00:43:31.740 well folks we always believe in getting the other side of the story and we tried to go up to the floor

00:43:37.020 where the toronto police association is situated we wanted to get president john reed on camera or

00:43:43.180 anyone else with the tpa but if you can imagine they have actually disabled the elevator to go to

00:43:52.620 that floor so i guess whether it's the media or their own members they are in no mood to talk about

00:44:00.940 this grotesque act of dismissing members on a suspension without pay i think that's shameful

00:44:13.180 that's why i'm not sure i'm not sure if you want to get into the road to go to the police

00:44:15.740 check out this sad and somewhat disturbing display many of the officers who came to protest here

00:44:22.460 well they've left behind their police boots as a sign of protest for what's happened to them

00:44:30.140 and what a dire state of events isn't it folks you have men and women in law enforcement who are

00:44:37.020 essentially no longer employed they've been suspended without pay and as citizens of toronto do you feel

00:44:44.620 any safer now that so many members of law enforcement are no longer on the toronto police force

00:44:53.340 what a sad sad day in toronto's history for rebel news i'm david the menzoid menzies
