Rebel News Podcast - EZRA LEVANT ｜ Tim Hortons has threatened us with police, lawsuits, and now a trademark complaint — all for asking why they won’t hire Canadians

00:00:00.000 Hello, my friends. Big show today. Two big stories. A huge story from when we went to the Walk

00:00:06.260 with Israel march through Toronto's busy Bathurst Street. It's a Jewish neighborhood, but the pro

00:00:12.440 Hamas activists usually show up with loudspeakers to scream at the Jews. I'll show you how police

00:00:19.700 handled it this year. And also, we have been sued in trademark dispute by Tim Hortons. I'll show you

00:00:25.980 what that's all about and tell you how we're going to fight back but first let me invite you

00:00:30.120 to become a subscriber to rebel news plus that's the video version of this podcast just go to

00:00:34.560 rebelnewsplus.com click subscribe and especially for today's show about the march the walk with

00:00:40.240 israel it's so visual you know i i mean of course you'll get something out of it if you just listen

00:00:45.460 to it but oh there's so you've got to see the sights you've got to see the flags you've got

00:00:50.560 to see the signs you've got to see in some cases the costumes and the makeup to understand what's

00:00:55.700 going on in our city streets. So, please consider getting Rebel News Plus at rebelnewsplus.com.

00:01:16.620 Tonight, it's really happened. Tim Hortons has sued Rebel News. I'll give you all the details

00:01:21.320 and our plans to fight back. It's June 8th, and this is The Ezra LeVant Show.

00:01:28.880 Shame on you, you censorious bug.

00:01:41.040 Hello, my friends. Busy times over here at Rebel News. So many things going on

00:01:45.260 in so many different places. Today, I've got two big stories for you. Coming up a little later in

00:01:50.340 the show. A lot of our team went to the Walk with Israel, it's called. It's for many Jews,

00:01:57.240 but many non-Jewish allies who were sick of the antisemitism in Canada. About 60,000 people walked

00:02:03.720 through Toronto's busy Bathurst Street. I note that not the premier, prime minister, or mayor,

00:02:09.260 they didn't attend. Neither did the Council on Antisemitism, which is sort of weird. You'd think

00:02:14.300 they'd all be there. None of them were. But for the first time in three years, the police actually

00:02:19.800 did their job and pushed the screaming counter protesters the pro-hamas types back from the

00:02:26.000 parade so moms and dads and grandmas and grandpas and children didn't have to listen to it it's

00:02:30.840 quite a spectacle i was there along with about a half a dozen rebels we like to cover that beat

00:02:36.060 and it was very interesting i'm glad we were there lots of love for rebel news that's coming up in a

00:02:40.380 moment but first our inquiry into tim hortons and their preference for foreign workers over

00:02:47.280 Canadian workers has taken a dark turn. I think you may know that they sent us a threat letter

00:02:52.900 a few days ago, banning us from all their property in Canada for life. It's actually

00:02:58.960 quite dramatic. Now, the funny thing is I don't go to Tim Hortons. I prefer McDonald's coffee,

00:03:04.020 not just because it tastes better, because they're less anti-Canadian. But today they

00:03:09.060 actually hit us with a real form of litigation, a trademark dispute that they filed with our

00:03:13.680 Rebel News store. They want to knock us out so we can't make merchandise that satirizes or

00:03:20.080 criticizes Tim Hortons. But that actually is allowed under law. In fact, trademark law has

00:03:26.100 a special exception for criticism or satire. You're allowed to say things like Tim Hortons sucks. Now, 0.98

00:03:31.840 we didn't say Tim Hortons sucks. In fact, we said something very, very gentle. We said make Tim 0.94

00:03:37.500 Hortons Canadian again. It almost sounds positive, like we're sort of cheering for them to stop

00:03:42.460 hiring foreign workers. Well, that was too much for them. They filed a legal dispute with our 1.00

00:03:48.700 shop company called Shopify, that if it were to go the distance would knock us off the internet

00:03:54.280 as a store. Now we could find a different place, I'm sure, but it's outrageous that Tim Hortons

00:03:59.120 would try and punish us this way. And that's obviously what they're doing. This is punishment

00:04:03.140 for our journalism. So without further ado, let me show you the campaign video that I just released

00:04:08.500 on this subject. Tim Hortons is trying desperately to shut us up. They've called the police on our

00:04:15.400 reporters three times and they just had their lawyers file a legal complaint against us trying

00:04:21.680 to get our store banned on the internet. I really need your help. This is a classic case of David

00:04:28.780 versus Goliath. If Goliath was a big dumb donut shop that refused to hire Canadian workers and 0.99

00:04:35.600 preferred hiring foreign workers. You can learn more about the story at timsboycott.com. But let 0.98

00:04:42.260 me give you a little bit of background right now. For two weeks, we've been telling the truth about

00:04:46.800 Tim Hortons and their gross plans to hire foreign workers instead of young Canadians. Our reporting

00:04:53.560 has been a problem for them because you see, they've just started a huge PR campaign to rebrand

00:04:59.260 themselves as Canadian patriots because Dunkin' Donuts, the American-based firm, is about to open

00:05:05.980 up hundreds of locations in Canada later this year. And Tim Hortons thinks they can win back

00:05:10.820 customers by pretending to be Canadian. But we discovered that even though Tim Hortons says

00:05:17.240 they're hiring Canadians, they actually are still actively bringing foreign workers to Canada by

00:05:23.900 using the government's temporary foreign worker program. So we went to some of those Tim Hortons

00:05:29.060 locations and asked them why they were saying they were hiring locals when in fact they were

00:05:34.840 hiring foreigners. I mean, why? Why? When I actually asked one of the Tim Hortons managers

00:05:40.540 who was actively bringing in foreigners, he lied about it, saying he didn't know anything about it

00:05:46.360 while I was literally holding his restaurant's ad for foreigners in my hands. Here, take a look.

00:05:52.340 I'm probably going to talk about this restaurant manager position. Are you the person to talk to

00:05:58.000 about this at Help Wanted Act?

00:05:59.360 Are you applying?

00:06:00.320 No.

00:06:00.880 With Revolues, I want to ask a little bit about it

00:06:03.280 because this is a temporary foreign workers position

00:06:07.400 and I thought Tim Hortons was done with temporary foreign workers.

00:06:11.660 So at the restaurant level, we have nothing ready to say about it.

00:06:14.500 So did you take out this act or was this corporate?

00:06:17.240 No, I have no idea where it is from.

00:06:19.360 Are you still hiring temporary foreign workers?

00:06:21.020 You see the flag, what it says?

00:06:24.420 What does it say?

00:06:25.000 but it's clearly

00:06:26.360 whoever you want to come, apply, apply

00:06:28.920 but how about foreign nationals

00:06:31.180 I can't comment on any of that

00:06:32.980 well, but if you're still hiring

00:06:35.220 foreign workers

00:06:35.940 whoever comes and apply, apply 1.00

00:06:37.580 Tim Hortons always having

00:06:39.720 but there was a big announcement by the corporate boss

00:06:42.980 and I went online

00:06:45.320 and it looks like around

00:06:46.780 90 stores like yours

00:06:48.840 yours is one of them

00:06:50.420 that's hiring specifically for foreign workers

00:06:53.460 Is that a decision you made?

00:06:55.400 No, it's not a decision.

00:06:56.500 What we're saying is that the sun is open.

00:06:58.800 Anybody can come apply.

00:07:00.060 But this is from, I printed this off like one hour ago.

00:07:03.040 I have no idea where you printed it from.

00:07:04.640 Well, this is from the government's temporary foreign workers account.

00:07:08.520 We have nothing to comment on that.

00:07:11.140 Do you know about this?

00:07:12.800 There's about 90 different locations, including this one.

00:07:15.900 Excuse me, sir.

00:07:16.480 Can we just say that?

00:07:18.040 So this one here says that this location is hiring foreign workers,

00:07:23.620 and you specifically LMIA and labor market impact assessments.

00:07:26.940 So it's not like random.

00:07:28.240 You guys are trying to get foreign workers here.

00:07:30.640 I just want to know how that squares with corporate statements the other day.

00:07:34.360 Yeah, this is my first time seeing this,

00:07:36.660 so we don't have any comment on it at this point.

00:07:40.720 There's 90 locations doing this.

00:07:43.380 This is one we popped by.

00:07:45.640 Yeah.

00:07:46.220 What do you think?

00:07:47.060 Does this catch you by surprise?

00:07:49.200 I'm not going to share anything today.

00:07:50.640 So it's not a surprise.

00:07:51.920 So those managers courageously kicked me off the property,

00:07:55.940 saying we couldn't talk to any store managers or owners anymore ever.

00:08:00.440 They thought maybe that would stop us from exposing their lying.

00:08:04.420 Yeah, no, sorry.

00:08:05.300 We kept doing journalism about their plans to import hundreds of foreign workers.

00:08:09.560 We talked to people going to the Tim Hortons drive-thru, 0.90

00:08:12.300 And 100% of the people we spoke with agreed, stop hiring foreign workers, start hiring Canadians 1.00

00:08:20.660 instead. Here's a sample of how that went. Should Tim Hortons prioritize temporary foreign workers 0.70

00:08:25.540 or Canadians first? Oh, Canadians. Canadians? Canadians first. Oh, I'm not sure. Canadians 1.00

00:08:34.080 first, I would say. Do you think they should hire Canadians? They should hire Canadians for sure. 1.00

00:08:38.320 This store here is still advertising for foreign workers. 1.00

00:08:41.160 I think they should hire Canadians first. 1.00

00:08:42.860 What do you think? 1.00

00:08:43.560 Obviously, yes. 1.00

00:08:44.600 Canadians must come first. 0.99

00:08:46.320 Canadians love everyone, but we need to take care of our own first. 1.00

00:08:49.640 I'm kind of looking forward to Dunkin' Donuts coming.

00:08:52.300 I'm hoping that they'll do more Canadian.

00:08:55.580 Both my kids are university students,

00:08:57.680 and they should have been able to get a job there, and they haven't.

00:09:00.400 I think it is affecting Canadians because Canadians can't get jobs.

00:09:04.280 Our job is really bad.

00:09:05.780 um but i mean i feel like they need jobs too the immigrants need jobs but at the same time it's like

00:09:13.300 canadians genuinely don't have anywhere to work now and prices keep going up well when we showed

00:09:18.960 that that made them go nuts their own customers were mad at them they had their top lawyers send

00:09:25.120 us a threat letter saying if we go back to ask any more questions they and i'm quoting here

00:09:30.140 We will report the trespass to police and pursue all available remedies, including charges under the applicable act and civil action.

00:09:40.600 Translation, if we ask them any more questions, they're going to call the cops, press charges, and sue us in civil court too.

00:09:47.380 Have you ever seen a more thin-skinned bully than Tim Hortons?

00:09:51.980 By the way, it's obvious why they're panicking.

00:09:54.600 They're literally the number one user of foreign workers of any restaurant chain in the country. 1.00

00:09:59.220 they are the worst. Well, obviously we're not going to stop our journalism just because some 1.00

00:10:04.500 corporate lawyer threatens us. So we went out again and again and again, but because we respect

00:10:11.700 private property, we just stood on the public sidewalk, but still the crazed lunatics at Tim

00:10:17.460 Hortons HQ literally called the police on us. I say again, our reporters did not go in, did not

00:10:24.820 even come close. They just stood with the Tim Hortons in the background. And these bullies

00:10:30.320 called 911. You take a look. You're in the drive through videoing customers in the drive through.

00:10:37.480 Right. Yeah. No, we've been very mindful not to cause any sort of disturbance or anything like

00:10:41.900 that. So we're just out here asking people if they think that Tim Hortons should hire temporary

00:10:46.940 foreign workers or prioritize Canadians first. So getting a lot of good feedback on that.

00:10:51.480 Okay, so I'm not going to make a comment, but the owner is on their way just to check things out because I think people from in the store are calling in.

00:11:00.420 So we just want to make sure things stay that way and that you're not coming onto the property and videoing people on the property.

00:11:07.800 And if they ask you to leave the property, then you do need to leave the property.

00:11:10.200 Yes, of course.

00:11:11.140 Folks, I have never seen such a wasteful use of police resources.

00:11:16.740 Those cops were here for more than an hour.

00:11:19.360 what the hell were they talking about with the Tim Hortons management I can imagine the conversation

00:11:26.660 sir you called 911 yes that's right uh what's the nature of the complaint oh Rebel News is here

00:11:33.040 where oh on yonder sidewalk and um and uh can you arrest them no and that's it but no they

00:11:42.560 they ragged the puck to use a hockey analogy for one hour what the hell were they talking about

00:11:49.180 and during that hour how many real crimes were being committed in york region can you believe

00:11:56.300 that they've got a corporate pr crisis independent journalists at rebel news are exposing their lies

00:12:02.180 about hiring foreigners they're claiming they're hiring canadians they're lying to their own

00:12:06.740 customers and so they think that calling the police is the solution to a pr problem to do what

00:12:13.720 to arrest us, to put us in jail.

00:12:16.840 Do you know that Tim Hortons is now owned

00:12:18.880 by a Brazilian hedge fund called 3G?

00:12:21.500 Maybe that's how it works in Brazil.

00:12:23.180 If you criticize a large company there,

00:12:25.360 the police will harass you.

00:12:26.660 But we're in Canada now, hombre.

00:12:29.220 So they threatened us with a lawsuit.

00:12:31.440 We didn't stop.

00:12:32.780 They threatened to call police.

00:12:34.700 We didn't stop.

00:12:36.580 So today they lashed out in a new way, in anger.

00:12:40.540 they lodged a trademark complaint against rebel news trying to get our shopify account banned

00:12:47.840 shopify is our store where we sell merchandise this is the shirt they're complaining against

00:12:53.740 it's clearly not made by tim hortons it's obviously a gentle criticism of tim hortons

00:12:59.620 wishing they were canadian again not foreign run and they had their lawyers send a threat letter

00:13:05.640 to Shopify saying what we're doing is illegal. Well, I know a little something about trademark 0.97

00:13:11.180 law myself. It's meant to stop people from passing themselves off as the real thing.

00:13:16.260 It's meant to stop confusion in the market. So if you set up Tom Hortons and made it look the same,

00:13:22.000 that would be a trademark violation because you're trying to trick people into thinking

00:13:25.620 that you're the real thing. You're confusing the market, but criticizing Tim Hortons,

00:13:30.840 it's not a trademark violation. In fact, criticism and satire are specifically permitted under

00:13:37.340 trademark law. This is literally like an editorial cartoon, very gently ribbing Tim Hortons for

00:13:44.840 hiring foreigners instead of Canadians. So they have filed a trademark dispute, a kind of lawsuit

00:13:51.380 against us at Shopify, and we have to hire lawyers to respond. And we have to do so within 48 hours,

00:13:57.480 or we could have our t-shirt suspended from the site and potentially have our entire store shut

00:14:04.420 down. Do you see what these thugs are doing? These bullies at Tim Hortons? They're literally

00:14:11.680 doing whatever they can to destroy it to stop us from revealing the truth about their foreign 1.00

00:14:16.080 workers scam. First, they threatened us. They banned us from their property. They threatened 0.94

00:14:21.540 us with lawsuits. They threatened us with police and they actually did call police multiple times.

00:14:26.920 Luckily, the police realized that Tim Hortons were just being bullies and so they didn't do anything.

00:14:32.220 So now the thugs at Tim Hortons are trying to destroy us commercially by going after our Rebel News store.

00:14:39.000 This shirt is such a mild criticism.

00:14:41.980 It's so gentle.

00:14:43.240 It's even, you might say, positive about Tim Hortons.

00:14:47.240 No real person could possibly oppose this shirt.

00:14:50.920 It's not even in Tim Hortons' signature font.

00:14:53.640 I mean, no one would possibly think it's a real Tim Hortons ad, but they're trying to hurt rebel

00:15:00.940 any way they can. They're trying to shut down our store and cost us hundreds of thousands of

00:15:05.160 dollars just because we won't stop reporting on their foreign migrant scam. So what should we do? 1.00

00:15:13.380 Should we be like the rest of the media and cheer for Tim Hortons? Of course not.

00:15:18.760 They're only doing that because Tim Hortons is such a large advertiser. So of course,

00:15:23.640 These media companies are going to help propagate the Tim Horton lies.

00:15:26.900 I mean, the other day, the Financial Post actually wrote an article, some editorial,

00:15:32.940 supporting hiring foreign workers instead of Canadians.

00:15:37.060 Tell me you take Tim Horton's ad money without telling me you take Tim Horton's ad money. 0.82

00:15:41.480 They literally support hiring foreigners over Canadians. 0.88

00:15:45.540 No, we don't have any Tim Horton's ad money, so they can't use the carrot on us, so they'll use the stick. 0.96

00:15:51.000 calling 911 didn't shut us up so now they're trying to knock us out of business not so easily

00:15:58.700 though here's my plan to fight back and i need your help with a lot of these step one we're

00:16:03.680 going to keep doing journalism about tim hortons how they favor foreign workers over canadians

00:16:08.000 and all sorts of other unethical conduct we're digging up about them so that's for us to do

00:16:12.320 step two we're going to sell a lot more t-shirts and coffee mugs about tim hortons not just that

00:16:18.460 one image that we had before. If we have to go to court to teach these bullies a lesson about free

00:16:23.720 speech, so be it. But you never know if Tim Hortons gets its way, you won't be able to get those

00:16:28.940 anymore. That would make them hard to find collectibles. Anyways, give Tim Hortons the

00:16:33.040 finger by buying the t-shirt that obviously enrages them, the big bullies. You can do that

00:16:39.240 at our website, timsboycott.com. Now, step three is what I need your help with really. We've got

00:16:45.880 to ramp up our Tim's Boycott petition. Last I checked, we have more than 14,000 signatures on

00:16:52.400 it, but we need 10 times as many. If you haven't signed it yet, please go right now to timsboycott.com.

00:17:00.520 Step four. In the past two weeks, we have heard horror stories about Tim Horton's and its

00:17:07.240 employment practices. I'm not just talking about bugs and mice in with the donuts. I'm talking

00:17:13.460 about human rights violations, about how the Tim Hortons franchise owners take advantage of the

00:17:19.340 foreign labor they bring in. You've probably heard about some of these horror stories before.

00:17:23.520 Our own Tamara Ugolini exposed some of it. Remember this? Sent her a message over Snapchat

00:17:28.320 asking her if she had a boyfriend, which she had replied no. She asked if she wanted an Indian

00:17:35.300 boyfriend. And my niece's reply was, well, how old is he? And she said 25. And she said, well,

00:17:43.140 I'm only 17.

00:17:44.720 I heard I could make $20,000 if I wanted to marry the manager's brother here.

00:17:49.080 Can I start that process?

00:17:51.760 You have no comments on it?

00:17:53.280 So is it true or not?

00:17:56.160 Just because your boss doesn't like the fact that an independent journalist is in here video recording,

00:18:02.560 that's not up to him.

00:18:04.120 She has the right to do that.

00:18:06.740 I'm not going to go. 1.00

00:18:08.040 Well, we know there are hundreds of stories out there like that, because remember, a lot of these stories are being managed by foreign nationals who don't share our Canadian values about human rights or following the law. 0.95

00:18:20.900 If you know about a human rights violation, an immigration law violation, a situation where foreign workers are being abused or being taken advantage of or exploited or just plain old anti-Canadian racism, let us know in our tip line. 0.99

00:18:37.980 We have set up a special Tim Hortons tip line.

00:18:42.060 Send us the details confidentially.

00:18:44.720 If you are a Tim Hortons insider, if you work there and have seen a terrible thing,

00:18:49.760 and I understand many people have, email us at timhortons at rebelnews.com

00:18:55.900 and your confidentiality will be guaranteed.

00:19:00.200 Finally, step five.

00:19:02.200 I mentioned we're hiring trademark lawyers to fight back against Tim Hortons' legal attack on our store.

00:19:07.980 Obviously, those lawyers cost a lot of money and unlike Tim Hortons, we don't have billions

00:19:12.540 of dollars from a foreign hedge fund at our disposal.

00:19:16.400 But it's clear that this trademark lawsuit is just the first attack they've already told

00:19:20.380 us.

00:19:21.380 They're considering suing us and trying to get police to prosecute us too.

00:19:26.440 So we have to build a war chest because we expect a long and bitter fight with Tim Hortons

00:19:32.100 on the legal front and journalistically and they've already shown they will fight dirty.

00:19:36.940 If you can help us level the playing field, please do, by chipping into our legal defense fund.

00:19:42.680 That's also at timsboycott.com.

00:19:45.900 Thanks a million. I promise we'll keep fighting these bullies.

00:19:49.780 Go to timsboycott.com to help us fight back.

00:20:01.820 Ezra Levant here for Rebel News.

00:20:03.660 I am standing in the heart of the Jewish community in Toronto.

00:20:07.400 It's called Bathurst Street, a big north-south road,

00:20:10.960 along which I'd say about 100,000 Jews live.

00:20:14.240 There's plenty of synagogues and schools, Jewish restaurants and shops.

00:20:18.300 And it's been a place of Jewish life for a century.

00:20:22.580 But in the last few years, it's been a place of anti-Semitic hate crimes,

00:20:27.020 where almost every day another synagogue is vandalized, torched,

00:20:31.360 sometimes even shot at with guns. And because Jews are all along this street, and many of them are 1.00

00:20:38.160 very conspicuous, they wear traditional clothing, anti-Semitic violence is as easy as driving along 1.00

00:20:45.040 the street and shooting at anyone who looks Jewish. And that's been happening in recent months,

00:20:51.560 and police either cannot or will not do anything about it. Which brings us to today. Every year,

00:20:58.940 for about 50 years the jews have had a walk a peaceful walk down this road they call it walk

00:21:05.420 with israel historically every politician wants to see and be seen there i mean it would be like

00:21:12.140 going to a greek festival or the saint patrick's day parade or even the gay pride parade these are

00:21:18.460 things that naturally attract politicians who want to be seen supporting a community historically

00:21:25.980 the mayor would never miss it i mean think about it 50 000 voters who just want to see you but in

00:21:32.220 the last three years politicians have boycotted this event they can do the math demographically

00:21:38.300 they see mass immigration has brought millions of people to canada who are anti-semitic and some of

00:21:44.380 whom actually support violence so at least in the last several years mayor olivia chow premier doug

00:21:50.940 forward. Prime Ministers Justin Trudeau and Mark Carney have boycotted this event. We'll see if

00:21:56.380 that's the case again today. But it's not just politicians, it's the police. There's been such

00:22:01.640 a two-tier standard of policing. Obviously, the most shocking example is the difference between

00:22:08.220 how the pro-Hamas protesters are treated here versus the trucker convoy. Completely peaceful

00:22:13.940 in both Ontario and federally. The governments invoke the Emergencies Act, mass arrests,

00:22:19.920 seized bank accounts. Those were peaceful Canadian citizens protesting COVID lockdowns.

00:22:25.800 Here you have foreign nationals, over 700 Iranian agents from various terrorist groups active in

00:22:33.600 Canada on the streets. The government knows who they are and they go with impunity. And I'm not 0.88

00:22:40.040 talking about some made up hate or feelings crime. I'm talking about assault, mischief,

00:22:45.840 vandalism, shootings, arson, uttering threats, those are all real crimes that

00:22:51.940 the police has turned a blind eye to. In fact, at Rebel News, when we simply want

00:22:56.220 to report on this violent anti-Semitism, this anti-Jewish crime wave, we've been

00:23:02.160 arrested. I personally was arrested simply for trying to film an anti-Semitic

00:23:06.940 installment in a Jewish neighborhood. And that's the other thing. These

00:23:11.520 protesters who come in here for Hamas, they obviously don't live in the Jewish

00:23:15.740 neighborhood. They drive in for miles right into the heart of the Jewish community in residential

00:23:21.460 areas. There's not an Israeli consulate here. There's no military equipment factories here.

00:23:27.620 It's just Jews, mums and dads, grandmas and grandpas and kids. And when the Hamas protesters 0.88

00:23:34.580 come in, they set up outside residential streets, residential apartments. And so far, 0.54

00:23:40.660 the police have treated them with kid gloves. One of the things we do every year is we bring

00:23:45.440 our big beautiful billboard truck and rotate different messages on it at this

00:23:50.540 moment we're letting people know one of our petitions is about Hamas we say if

00:23:56.000 you're not a citizen there's a checklist here as you can see if you're not a

00:24:01.760 citizen if you support terrorism you're out of here you're deported so we have a

00:24:09.500 petition at deporthamas.com. It's one of the various messages in our big, beautiful billboard

00:24:17.880 truck that we set up today. I had a little bit of negotiating with the police on where to put the

00:24:24.060 truck. Ironically, a Jewish security guard wanted us to move it. I got into a bit of an argy-bargy.

00:24:30.520 There are still Jews with wobbly knees around who don't like vigorous conversations like that which 1.00

00:24:38.220 the truck carries anyways you can hear the music it's going to be a festival atmosphere but all 1.00

00:24:45.600 along bathers there's police there's no other community that needs 1000 or more police simply 0.83

00:24:54.380 to walk down a street the muslim community certainly doesn't no one attacks them no it

00:24:59.600 wouldn't be a terrorist attack there the gay community i mentioned the saint patrick's day

00:25:04.660 Parade, the Columbus Day Parade. I don't know if we have that in Toronto. No other community needs

00:25:09.520 a thousand police just to walk the streets. That's the state of anti-Semitism in Canada today.

00:25:14.960 I'm going to be here all day. We've got a bunch of Rebel News reporters here

00:25:18.160 because I think it's a microcosm of the larger problems in this country. Mass immigration, 1.00

00:25:24.840 people coming to Canada who do not share our values, police being afraid to apply the law 0.77

00:25:29.160 even-handedly, politicians doing the math and realizing their future lies with anti-Semites.

00:25:34.660 not jews the demographic change there's so many things afoot i'm also going to ask questions of

00:25:40.100 the jews the jewish community historically has been supportive of open borders immigration

00:25:45.460 hey how's that working out for you i'll ask if i see any liberal mps how they dare to show their 0.53

00:25:51.140 face here after their complicity with hamas so that's my scene setter from this morning

00:25:57.380 the parade is about to start in 40 minutes we'll have news for you throughout the day

00:26:04.660 voice I don't have the voice that you have but you know you're the front line of all this and

00:26:10.920 you take the punishment and I really appreciate you doing that for me I'd like to get involved

00:26:18.540 somehow but what you do you know you speak up when the voices are so much bigger than

00:26:24.920 you know than your voice but you speak up David and Goliath I suppose so yeah I listen

00:26:34.560 to you all the time, and it gives me talking points

00:26:37.560 that I can express, you know.

00:26:40.400 I have a lot of non-Jewish friends.

00:26:42.060 Right.

00:26:43.060 Well, thank you very much for saying that.

00:26:45.700 Thank you very much.

00:26:46.700 Have a great day.

00:26:47.700 Thank you.

00:26:49.140 So I'm headed north on Bathurst to Bathurst and Shepherd,

00:26:54.340 the site of the weekly anti-Semitic hate festival

00:26:57.980 that police have abided for three years.

00:27:00.280 And you can see wave after wave, like there's thousands

00:27:03.260 people coming south you would think this is the march it's not they're coming to the muster point 0.94

00:27:09.500 and then they're going to walk north it just shows how densely jewish this street is these are folks

00:27:16.860 who are just literally coming from their houses and apartments to muster at wilson uh street which

00:27:23.780 is uh about a half a mile that way so when the hamas activists target this neighborhood they

00:27:30.680 exactly what they're doing. They're not going for political or corporate or

00:27:35.400 military targets. They're trying to demonize, terrify, and humiliate ordinary

00:27:39.920 Jews. 1.00

00:27:43.340 Thank you. It's fun to get the the natural feedback from folks here. I think

00:27:50.600 over the last three years it's not just been a political failure to deal with 0.87

00:27:54.360 Hamas terrorism. I think it's been a journalistic failure. One of the reasons

00:27:58.560 we've reported from the Bathurst and Shepard conflagration every week is because the regime

00:28:04.540 media simply doesn't. Why would they not? Because it shows the grotesque anti-Semitism and hate

00:28:11.220 that is the pro-Palestinian, pro-Hamas side. Why wouldn't a regime journalist film that weekly 0.55

00:28:19.180 conflict? I mean, it's got all the elements of an interesting news story. It's got two stark sides,

00:28:23.900 the Jews and the pro-Hamas side. It's got colorful signs. It's got, like, it's just, it should be 0.91

00:28:29.980 catnip for journalists. But because the pro-Hamas side is so viciously anti-Semitic in their language,

00:28:36.060 the regime media effectively censors, not to stop them, but to stop them from being revealed to the

00:28:43.680 larger country. I think if people saw how gross the pro-Hamas activists were, they'd be even less

00:28:50.060 than they are. Here's some flags that are of an interesting background. You can see the

00:28:57.320 lion in the sun. That's the flag for the free Iran. And you can see they have a picture 1.00

00:29:04.960 of the Shah. The idea would be to replace the extremist Ayatollahs with the historical 0.81

00:29:11.600 rulers of Iran. I support that, of course. And they support Israel for obvious reasons. 0.92

00:29:16.760 They both are against the terrorism of Iran.

00:29:19.880 Behind me, you can see a police officer handing out foam earplugs

00:29:24.400 because the pro-Hamas activists have brought a very loud PA system.

00:29:29.600 So understand what's happening.

00:29:31.400 The police are protecting their own ears from the PA system,

00:29:34.920 but the men, women, and children, babies in strollers who are going by,

00:29:39.580 they have no such protection.

00:29:41.080 now they're going into earl bales park which has the toronto holocaust memorial in it i wonder if

00:29:49.180 the cops think that's better i think it is better because at least you're not subjecting 50 000

00:29:55.460 jewish kids moms dads to being screamed out with anti-semitic invective this is a major test for

00:30:02.520 the police speaking of which look down there i see reinforcements coming my friends i think this is

00:30:09.080 the moment. I think police are going to push them away. I think we're about to see the kind of

00:30:14.500 policing we have not seen in three years. Let's take a look. Look what we got here. One, two, three,

00:30:31.020 four five six seven eight nine ten a dozen police on horseback and look at

00:30:37.740 these police doing a circle they're moving they're using the police cars as

00:30:42.120 a physical barricade I believe they're going to use the horses to gently push

00:30:48.480 back the Hamas supporters there's actually not that many of them if I had

00:30:54.960 to guess there's fewer than 10. Remember, that's not the main place of protest. These are the ones

00:31:01.880 who sneaked through the park to reposition here. And you can see they're flying the Khomeini flag,

00:31:09.440 the Ayatollah Khomeini flag, and the Palestine flag. So maybe there are two dozen of them after

00:31:16.080 all. I think they're about to be pushed back. That's my theory, is that after the political

00:31:23.420 pummeling that Myron Demke has taken for doing nothing, I think today he's going to maybe

00:31:27.860 do something. Here come the horses. Here come the horses. Here come the horses.

00:31:39.300 Thanks for all your work. Thank you.

00:31:40.980 there's got to be a dozen horses there's got to be a hundred cops and I'm going to change

00:31:54.580 my earlier estimate and and guess that there's about 25 protesters there's another 30 cops on

00:32:02.320 These bikes deployed, they're gently walking the pro-Hamas protesters back.

00:32:18.380 They're shouting move, move, move.

00:32:23.280 The horses are here.

00:32:29.080 The horses have deployed.

00:32:35.360 There's now a barrier of horses between the protesters and the march.

00:32:48.800 The horses are withdrawing.

00:32:52.500 The horses are going away.

00:33:09.500 That's him.

00:33:13.500 I see Officer McDuff, who had me arrested last time I was doing journalism from here.

00:33:19.500 Let's hope it doesn't happen a second time

00:33:25.560 Have a couple of promos protesters just sitting down looks like the police are going to move them. I 0.59

00:33:32.500 Have more reports later today

00:33:49.500 I understand that the police intend to keep the pro-Hamas supporters at least 100, perhaps

00:34:13.220 150 feet away from the route of the march.

00:34:17.420 It appears they're affecting that.

00:34:19.420 The police are behind me.

00:34:20.560 I'm just going to get out of the way.

00:34:22.720 If I had to guess how this is going to resolve, they're going to push them back 100 feet.

00:34:26.960 Now, I don't know if you can see it.

00:34:28.380 Do you see that structure over there?

00:34:31.020 That's actually a Holocaust memorial here in Toronto.

00:34:35.080 It wouldn't surprise me if some of these pro-Hamas types do some vandalism while they're here.

00:34:40.380 Like I said, it's a very Jewish neighborhood.

00:34:42.080 they are being shooed away the horses in the end were not necessary maybe they

00:34:49.640 were just a dramatic effect the pro-terrorist supporters are indeed

00:34:54.380 retreating you can see the bike police there's a lot of police here because here

00:35:06.480 comes the march. They're being shooed away as the march arrives. And the horses

00:35:19.360 are pushing them away from the road. The horses are deploying over there. Very

00:35:26.340 interesting. A very different approach to policing than what we've seen over the

00:35:32.220 last three years where the Hamas and pro-Iran activists have been treated with concierge

00:35:39.620 service. There's Officer McDuff right there who had me arrested when I was doing journalism a

00:35:45.480 year ago. I'm actually suing him in the Toronto Police Force for false arrest. It looks like

00:35:50.680 they're not arresting the Jews today. I don't know if they're arresting any of the Hamas supporters,

00:35:55.060 but they're moving them away, which I think is good policing. I'm going to get back on the sidewalk 0.99

00:36:01.460 and and walk further that way you have one clown remaining over here 0.96

00:36:14.240 how are you today 0.81

00:36:22.180 thank you

00:36:25.300 Well, we're on the sidewalk ourselves.

00:36:33.380 Very intense, very different kind of policing than what we've seen.

00:36:38.520 You can see that the front of the Walk with Israel march is now this far north on Bathurst.

00:36:46.520 There's police vehicles, there's ambulances.

00:36:49.540 On the other side, it looks like it's the vehicle lane.

00:36:53.920 Here's McDuff. 0.97

00:36:54.660 Yeah, that's Naveed, the guy with the pedophile brothers. 0.70

00:37:06.420 Which one, where is it? 0.58

00:37:07.300 Right there, right, right, yeah.

00:37:12.740 Here comes more police to assist. 0.84

00:37:19.540 there's a small group of there's a Jewish cult called the natural I

00:37:32.920 Carter who don't believe in the state of Israel they're an extreme minority

00:37:37.420 much less than 1% of the Jews but because they're against Israel and they're

00:37:41.500 very poor Iran pays them to attend protests to confuse why would Jews 1.00

00:37:48.720 support Palestine what's your name fuck out of my face what's your name what's 1.00

00:38:01.560 your name I'm Ezra Levant what why are you afraid to identify yourself are you 1.00

00:38:04.920 ashamed of what you're doing no I'm right here you can do it like a Google

00:38:08.760 face search here you go you're ashamed of yourself you won't even say your name

00:38:11.940 I'm not I don't have to say my name who are you a cop no I'm a journalist with

00:38:16.440 what? You guys don't have any accreditation. Are you a Canadian or are you a foreigner?

00:38:21.360 What are you? I'm a Canadian, fourth generation. Well, good for you.

00:38:24.900 If you're not a Canadian. Baby killers. The baby killer parade is on full force here. 1.00

00:38:33.820 Where are you from originally? Where are you from originally?

00:38:40.260 You're a bit of a coward. You talk so tough when you're shouting at women and children, 1.00

00:38:44.140 but you won't even say your name to me. 1.00

00:38:46.040 You're a bit of a coward. 1.00

00:38:47.000 I don't have to tell you anything. 1.00

00:38:48.240 I know, you're a coward. 1.00

00:38:49.400 Yeah, yeah, fuck you, how about that? 1.00

00:38:50.620 You're shouting swears of women and children. 1.00

00:38:52.780 I didn't swear yet.

00:38:53.580 You've been swearing constantly.

00:38:55.220 I didn't swear once.

00:38:55.680 And you won't even say your name.

00:38:56.740 I think you're ashamed of who you are.

00:38:58.100 I don't have to tell you my name? 1.00

00:38:58.920 You're ashamed, you're a coward. 1.00

00:39:00.400 You're a baby killer, how about that? 1.00

00:39:01.980 I'm not a baby killer, but you are a coward. 1.00

00:39:03.540 You support killing babies, so that's what a baby killer is. 1.00

00:39:06.420 See you later, coward. 1.00

00:39:07.440 I love what it says, Gisela McKay, Antifa Radical, 0.97

00:39:10.180 Trevor Miller, Antifa Radical,

00:39:12.040 And now we have Jagpile, Antifa Rasmus.

00:39:15.080 Oh, is that who he is?

00:39:16.080 Antifa.

00:39:16.620 These guys are sort of a made-up group.

00:39:18.860 It's like a made-up group. 0.78

00:39:19.780 Very embarrassing.

00:39:20.940 Thank you for all your work.

00:39:22.140 Thank you. 1.00

00:39:27.120 He's not even Muslim, it sounds like.

00:39:28.960 I think he's sort of cosplaying as a Palestinian activist.

00:39:32.940 Apparently, he's well-known.

00:39:34.660 Like I say, that's the Holocaust memorial, if I'm not mistaken.

00:39:39.520 and so it's sort of a weird place for the anti-Semites to gather.

00:39:45.360 How are you? How are you doing?

00:39:46.700 Nice to see you.

00:39:47.340 Nice to see you.

00:39:48.600 Oh, I'm just going to stay with my cameraman for a minute.

00:39:52.100 Can we try and do...

00:39:53.720 Shooters, yeah, we're like a piece of camera.

00:40:00.320 You guys want to say a word on camera? No?

00:40:02.560 How are you doing?

00:40:03.260 Nice to see you.

00:40:03.720 Nice to see you.

00:40:05.500 We haven't abandoned you, we've been some friends.

00:40:09.520 Not so bad, how are you?

00:40:11.520 Yeah, they're frustrating.

00:40:13.520 I know.

00:40:14.520 I don't know if you've ever met.

00:40:15.520 It's my wife.

00:40:16.520 Oh, hi.

00:40:17.520 How are you?

00:40:18.520 The very famous Ezra.

00:40:19.520 How do you do?

00:40:20.520 He runs Rebel News.

00:40:21.520 Nice to see you guys in action.

00:40:22.520 You getting some good stories?

00:40:24.520 Oh, yeah.

00:40:25.520 Thank you.

00:40:26.520 Anyway, thanks for doing what you're doing.

00:40:27.520 My pleasure.

00:40:28.520 Thank you.

00:40:29.520 Didn't you bring Tim to work?

00:40:30.520 Right?

00:40:31.520 Yeah, right on.

00:40:34.520 Guys, move on to the police car to pass. 1.00

00:40:36.520 Can I interview you ladies as we walk? 1.00

00:40:43.520 Hi, how are you?

00:40:45.520 Good. My name is, well, don't put my name on it, Lori Kingstone.

00:40:49.520 Oh, sure, yeah.

00:40:50.520 I met you years ago with my uncle and your, do you know that connection?

00:40:53.520 Yeah, my dad, right? And Ben? Is that right?

00:40:55.520 Bobby, okay.

00:40:57.520 I was just going to ask you why you're here. We're doing a little video.

00:41:01.520 Part of the community, just joining my community to walk and show my Jewish-Israeli pride.

00:41:08.920 What about the anti-Semitic counter-protest?

00:41:11.200 How do you feel about that and how the police are handling it?

00:41:14.740 I'm not sure why they're allowed to protest.

00:41:18.220 I'm not sure that it's free speech.

00:41:19.940 It's probably hate speech, but I'm not a lawyer.

00:41:24.420 It's the first time I've seen police actually push them a bit aside.

00:41:28.380 Well, I actually live in the neighborhood.

00:41:31.520 and I've seen the police.

00:41:34.760 Yeah, at this corner, every week, 1.00

00:41:36.100 they're like concierges to the Hamas people. 1.00

00:41:38.480 Yes, walking along with them. 1.00

00:41:39.960 I'm not sure why they can continue,

00:41:42.340 but that's for higher beings to figure out.

00:41:45.100 I'm not sure why.

00:41:46.240 I got one last question for you.

00:41:48.540 Traditionally, Jews have been for open immigration

00:41:50.960 or liberal immigration.

00:41:52.740 Have the past three years changed your views on that subject?

00:41:56.380 You said you would ask me easy questions.

00:42:02.380 All right.

00:42:03.380 Well, if you don't want to answer that, I think I know the answer.

00:42:05.380 I won't imply anything.

00:42:07.380 Great to talk with you.

00:42:08.380 Nice to see you.

00:42:09.380 Thank you very much. 0.97

00:42:10.380 Can I interview you ladies as we walk?

00:42:12.380 Hi, Mr. Levin.

00:42:13.380 Hi, how are you?

00:42:14.380 Good.

00:42:15.380 My name is, well, don't put my name on it, Lori Kingstone.

00:42:18.380 Oh, sure, yeah.

00:42:19.380 I met you years ago with my uncle and your, do you know that connection?

00:42:22.380 Yeah, my dad, right?

00:42:23.380 And Ben?

00:42:24.380 Is that right?

00:42:25.380 I'm just going to ask you why you're here.

00:42:29.860 We're doing a little video.

00:42:30.780 Part of the community.

00:42:31.920 Just joining my community to walk and show my Jewish-Israeli pride.

00:42:37.880 What about the anti-Semitic counter-protest?

00:42:40.180 How do you feel about that and how the police are handling it?

00:42:43.720 I'm not sure why they're allowed to protest.

00:42:47.220 I'm not sure that it's free speech.

00:42:48.940 It's probably hate speech, but I'm not a lawyer.

00:42:51.420 it's the first time I've seen police actually push them a bit aside I actually live in the

00:42:59.880 neighborhood and I've seen the police yeah this corner every week they they're like concierges 1.00

00:43:06.480 to the Hamas people walking along with them I'm not sure why they can continue but that's 1.00

00:43:11.760 for higher beings to figure out I'm not sure why I got one last question for you traditionally Jews 0.98

00:43:18.420 have been for open immigration or liberal immigration have the past three years changed

00:43:24.020 your views on that subject you said you would ask me easy questions all right well if you don't want

00:43:32.180 to answer that i think i know the answer i won't i won't imply anything great to talk with you

00:43:37.940 Thank you very much.

00:43:47.940 See, that guy there, I first met him outside a synagogue that had the windows smashed.

00:43:53.940 I had no idea who he is.

00:43:55.940 He's a professional protester. 1.00

00:43:58.940 He's one of the 700 foreign nationals whose job is to whip up, to provoke. 1.00

00:44:11.300 I believe in freedom of speech, even uncomfortable freedom of speech, for Canadian citizens. 1.00

00:44:16.900 But when you have foreign nationals like that Iranian proxy, who are professional hate 1.00

00:44:22.380 organizers, whatever visa they're on, send them home. 1.00

00:44:26.440 Is he a student? Is he a refugee? Is he a temporary foreign worker?

00:44:30.480 Even if he is naturalized, denaturalize him. 1.00

00:44:34.720 How much did you get paid to be here today? 0.56

00:44:38.960 Please stop lying. Don't lie on TV. It's not good.

00:44:41.680 How much were you paid to be here?

00:44:43.920 You've got to stop lying. How much were you paid to be here?

00:44:49.080 But you're a liar. You're a shunned for the goyim. 1.00

00:44:52.120 You're a disgrace to the Jewish people. You know that. 1.00

00:44:54.460 How much did you, how much did you, I believe in Hashem, I believe in God, and that is the goal of, but you're with Amalek here, you're with the Jewish, you're with the haters, you're a disgrace, you're a shunda for the goyim, and you're, you're, you're a paid crisis actor, you're a paid crisis actor, you're a disgrace, you're a disgrace, you know what, he's just gross. 0.97

00:45:24.460 Well here we are arriving at Bathurst and Shepherd the site of the weekly hate March 0.96

00:45:35.640 I see my friend David Menzies up ahead and Lincoln J. Let's say a quick hello David. How are you doing today?

00:45:42.220 Great to see you. Thanks for making the journey. Hi Lincoln. How's it gone so far for you?

00:45:46.840 I got something for your report. My my wife the beloved lady Menzoid was just two minutes ago 1.00

00:45:53.180 threatened with arrest. 1.00

00:45:54.480 Why?

00:45:55.280 Because she was on a public sidewalk.

00:45:57.620 This sidewalk, Ezra, according to the cop, 1.00

00:46:00.080 it's been reserved for the Islamists, these reprobates, 0.97

00:46:05.020 these cultists from Israel that are, I guess, 1.00

00:46:08.820 supporting people who would like to kill them first. 0.92

00:46:11.640 And my wife, who's just minding her own business, 0.98

00:46:14.640 was said, get off the sidewalk or you're under arrest.

00:46:23.180 hey welcome back your letters to me they're about tim hortons um canadian karma says even

00:46:31.560 the food professor is getting on the multi-million dollar propaganda being spent by tim hortons he

00:46:36.460 is interviewing them this week tim's execs are monitoring comments about him well i like the

00:46:41.160 food professor um that's his nickname he's come on my show several times uh just because he's

00:46:46.660 talking to tim hortons doesn't mean he's propagating their propaganda i would talk to

00:46:50.680 Tim Hortons. In fact, I've tried to do so. They kicked me off their property. So I think it's,

00:46:55.300 uh, behooves us to wait to see how the food professor does. I think he's a pretty sharp

00:46:59.780 cookie and, um, I don't want to prejudge how he does. So let's let him do his stuff and then

00:47:05.580 we'll comment on it afterwards. Our next letter is from Ken Chung, who says they'll need to stop

00:47:10.900 posting jobs for temporary foreign workers first before becoming Canadian again, still around 80

00:47:16.440 plus positions available. Yeah, the number bounces up and down every day. And you might be wondering,

00:47:20.940 hey, as you first, you said it was 88 and then 93 and then 95 and then 90. Well, yeah, because those

00:47:27.380 jobs are being filled. So the number goes down. But then more Tim Hortons advertised for foreign

00:47:33.680 workers. So the number goes up. In other words, they are actively seeking and recruiting and

00:47:38.080 hiring foreigners every day. What a liar they are when they say they're hiring Canadians. 0.95

00:47:44.180 s willis who said i'm saying that wrong probably tim hortons has been making awful tasting coffee 0.96

00:47:51.440 for years even when it was canadian i didn't buy from them well you know i don't think i've had

00:47:55.980 tim hortons coffee in 11 years i switched when they bad mouth the alberto oil sands i thought

00:48:01.420 you know what i'll get my coffee at mcdonald's too and i'm so glad i discovered mcdonald's coffee i

00:48:05.880 got to say maybe it's just i've grown accustomed to it but i think they have great coffee uh i

00:48:11.500 Frankly, I prefer it to Starbucks and certainly prefer it to Tim Hortons.

00:48:15.540 Listen, everyone has their own taste.

00:48:17.460 But if you've never tried McDonald's, I had never tried it in my life

00:48:20.580 until I decided to boycott Tim Hortons, and I'm glad I did.

00:48:24.180 Well, that's our show for the day.

00:48:25.660 Until tomorrow, on behalf of all of us here at Rebel World Headquarters,

00:48:28.540 to you at home, good night.

00:48:30.020 And keep fighting for freedom.
