Rebel News Podcast - How Rebel News Covered Coronavirus in Trudeau's Canada

00:00:00.000 Hello, my Rebels. Today, in the last of our series of The Best of the Rebel, we take you

00:00:05.260 through some of the highlights of our pandemic coverage. We like to zig where the other guys

00:00:10.560 zag. We like to tell the other side of the story. And with the groupthink of this pandemic,

00:00:15.340 I think it served us particularly well. I think you'll find this a very interesting show.

00:00:20.940 I'd like it if you could see it. So I want you to become a Rebel News Plus subscriber.

00:00:26.600 However, it's eight bucks a month or 80 bucks for the whole year. You get the video of this

00:00:30.920 podcast as well as videos by Sheila Gunn-Reed and David Benzies every week. It also helps us stay

00:00:36.560 strong. We don't take a dime of government money. That's pretty important. Okay, here's today's

00:00:40.400 podcast.

00:00:45.520 You're listening to a Rebel News Podcast.

00:00:47.860 Tonight, a very special episode, the best of The Rebel's pandemic coverage. It's July 24th,

00:01:01.860 and this is The Ezra Levant Show.

00:01:03.480 Why should others go to jail when you're a biggest carbon consumer I know?

00:01:09.380 There's 8,500 customers here, and you won't give them an answer.

00:01:13.440 The only thing I have to say to the government about why I'm publishing it is because it's my

00:01:18.040 bloody right to do so.

00:01:23.940 The pandemic has destroyed so much. It has killed people. It's true. 9,000 deaths in Canada,

00:01:30.980 each one a tragedy, but it has killed so much more than that death toll. A death toll on par

00:01:36.600 with the annual flu in Canada, which, for example, in the last year for which statistics were available

00:01:41.700 was 8,500 deaths. No, this pandemic has killed so many jobs, so much economy, so many businesses

00:01:49.640 has created so much misery, misery that is being extended into the foreseeable future.

00:01:55.520 It's also been a time of tremendous conformity. Don't wear a mask. Do wear a mask.

00:02:00.700 Stay home. Don't stay home. Of course, the politicians who issue these rules and demand

00:02:05.720 that we comply, they don't seem to follow the rules themselves.

00:02:10.220 I'm very proud of our coverage during the pandemic, from the very, very early days where we first saw

00:02:16.360 strange things in China before the whole world knew the name Wuhan. We covered it because we care

00:02:22.960 about China and the democracy movement there and the authoritarian Chinese police.

00:02:27.980 When the virus landed in Canada, we rang the alarm on the most basic job Trudeau had. One job, really.

00:02:35.360 Close the borders. He wouldn't. And we sent our own David Menzies to airports day after day,

00:02:40.240 showing that flights were still coming in directly from China. And no, they simply weren't being screened.

00:02:47.000 As the pandemic proceeded, we covered crazy news, such as scoops by Sheila Gunn-Reed that Justin Trudeau

00:02:54.520 was actually still paying money to that very same Wuhan Virology Institute, a grant of nearly a million

00:03:02.060 dollars in March. Crazy stuff. Every step of the way, we lived up to our motto, telling the other side

00:03:09.720 of the story, culminating in my own book, China Virus. Well, today we sum up the best of our coverage

00:03:16.920 of the pandemic, a terrible time in Canada, a time when an alternative voice, a dissident voice is more

00:03:23.980 important than ever. Here's that show. David Menzies for Rebel Media here at Toronto's Pearson

00:03:30.400 International Airport. Well, folks, as you know, this afternoon, it's a Monday night right now,

00:03:36.800 Justin Trudeau announced new measures to protect Canada from the COVID-19 virus. This was in terms

00:03:47.080 of restrictions for who can fly into Canadian airports. Of course, there's so many exemptions

00:03:53.380 that, you know, it's very questionable how effective these measures will be. However, before Justin

00:03:59.480 Trudeau's announcement this afternoon, in the morning hours, Bill Blair tweeted out the following,

00:04:05.360 and he said, quote, since the disease first began to spread in Hubei, we immediately took action by

00:04:13.080 enhancing our border measures through additional screening, questions, examinations, and advice

00:04:21.060 to mitigate the risk to passengers and others. Well, folks, we've been coming to this airport

00:04:28.500 several times in the last three months. Here's what we discovered when we were questioning people

00:04:35.700 off a flight from China to Toronto back in January. And I ask you, do you think this sounds like enhanced

00:04:44.980 screening measures, which Bill Blair boasted about? Check it out. Just wondering, did you go through any

00:04:51.080 kind of special screening? No, no, it's just not. They didn't ask you if you have any coughing symptoms,

00:04:58.800 fever, anything like that? Not yet. So I think they just asked if I am from Wuhan or something like that.

00:05:05.640 Where the outbreak is. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Do you find that interesting, you know, that they weren't asking you

00:05:11.660 these questions given the coronavirus that is spreading around the world right now? I think they have some sign on the

00:05:17.520 screen, but they didn't ask any questions about it. When you were going through screening, did they ask you

00:05:22.420 any special questions like, do you have a fever? Are you coughing? Oh, just when you feel the form,

00:05:29.020 they just a couple of questions just answered. That's it. Oh, I see. And on the form, there's a question about

00:05:35.660 if you're feeling sick? Coughing. Okay. Are you sick or not? Yeah. And there was no additional screening by the

00:05:43.820 border agents. No, no, no. Okay. Interesting. And are you well? You don't have a fever? You're not

00:05:49.280 coughing? Pretty well. And then just a couple of weeks ago, we were here to query passengers who flew

00:05:58.140 in from Iran via London, England. Once again, folks, does this sound like enhanced security

00:06:06.340 precautions that Bill Blair bragged about? Check it out. You are coming from Tehran, right? 0.99

00:06:13.820 Now. Am I correct? And you were in Tehran for three weeks, you told me. And you just came to Toronto

00:06:21.560 Airport. They just checked you with the machine or whatever that they checked you out. And they have

00:06:28.880 not asked you that... In Qatar, they checked us. Okay. You came to Deha? Yeah. You came to Deha from Tehran,

00:06:38.600 and from Tehran, you came to England? In Tehran, they checked us. Okay. In Qatar, Doha, they check us. Okay.

00:06:46.340 And here, based on the Toronto Healthcare. I just checked the website. We're at level two.

00:06:54.080 China's level three. And you tell it's level two also. Yeah. So we're level two. I talk to 311 right

00:07:00.620 now. Health public. And then they say we're okay as long as they have a monitoring here in Toronto.

00:07:08.000 Yeah, that's not very reassuring. In fact, I think Mr. Blair is being a little fast and loose with the

00:07:19.900 truth. In any event, the new measures don't take place until Wednesday. However, there is a flight

00:07:28.320 coming in tonight from Hong Kong. It's going to arrive shortly. And I'm going to ask the people

00:07:34.840 departing that flight, whether they have been asked these enhanced questions and have been

00:07:41.800 subjected to different kinds of screening, the sort of stuff Bill Blair says has been going on

00:07:48.280 since January. Let's see what these arrivals have to say. Hello, sir. Did you just fly in from Hong Kong?

00:07:55.700 Yeah. I'm just wondering, did you go through any special screening procedures when you went through

00:08:00.880 customs? You mean Hong Kong or here?

00:08:03.060 Here.

00:08:04.840 No, they asked, but they didn't have anything, anything special. Yeah. No one took your temperature

00:08:12.000 or anything like that or? No. No. Did anyone at customs say anything about coronavirus precautions?

00:08:18.860 Yeah, yeah, yeah. They asked it. They asked questions. They sent me the livenants. Yeah. And are you

00:08:25.820 going to go into a 14-day quarantine? Sure, why not? Excuse me, ma'am. Did you just get off the flight from Hong Kong?

00:08:32.120 Yes. Yes. Did you go through any kind of special screening measures when you went through customs?

00:08:38.280 No screening measures. No. No. No one took your temperature or? Yes. You mean here? When we arrive here?

00:08:47.440 And are you going to be going into a quarantine for 14 days?

00:08:55.720 Yes.

00:08:57.560 Did anyone at the airport give you any recommendations about the coronavirus?

00:09:04.260 Yes, she asked us to stay home for 15 days, 40 days.

00:09:11.740 Okay, thank you very much.

00:09:13.120 Well, I'm with Leyland and he just arrived from Punta Cana.

00:09:17.140 His final destination is Edmonton.

00:09:19.620 He told me off camera he's unfortunately missed the connecting flight,

00:09:22.720 so he's got to spend the night in Hogtown.

00:09:24.980 But, Leyland, tell me, I've just been asking some of the passengers getting off the Hong Kong flight

00:09:30.240 if they've been subjected to any additional screening.

00:09:33.840 It's been negative across the board.

00:09:36.200 How about yourself?

00:09:38.260 No, we didn't have screening as far as in-depth screening.

00:09:44.540 It was a pretty fast process going through customs.

00:09:48.380 And did any border guards or any other personnel at customs talk to you about the COVID-19 virus

00:09:56.540 or give you any tips or recommendations?

00:09:58.840 Yes, that part was looked after by the customs agent when we got to the desk.

00:10:04.120 And they gave us literature and they told us that we would have to self-quarantine.

00:10:09.000 And they gave us literature pertaining to that.

00:10:11.680 But that was the extent of the precautions.

00:10:16.000 Now, here's the big question.

00:10:17.180 When you get back to Edmonton, are you going to self-quarantine for two weeks?

00:10:20.340 Oh, yeah, we are.

00:10:21.880 My wife and I are both retired.

00:10:24.120 And it's not a big issue for us.

00:10:27.100 We live on an acreage, so it's not a problem.

00:10:30.540 Overall, Leyland, how would you rate how the federal government has responded

00:10:36.940 to this outbreak of the coronavirus?

00:10:39.480 Well, I don't really know how to answer that question.

00:10:45.840 I can only answer it just in my little purview here tonight.

00:10:50.180 And the screening is certainly not what I was expecting.

00:10:55.060 Kian Bextie for Rebel News here at Roxham Road.

00:10:57.400 I'm here to document what's going on exactly.

00:10:59.600 It's late at night here, as you can see.

00:11:01.680 But the operation is still going on here at full capacity.

00:11:05.220 The bus that I saw here last year now, over the summer, is still running.

00:11:11.940 I guess I should have expected that.

00:11:14.060 But I'm here today to figure out what they're doing in terms of screening for coronavirus.

00:11:18.680 These people, these illegal immigrants who are coming into our country 1.00

00:11:21.500 across this ditch that's behind me now, just behind my rental car there.

00:11:26.760 The illegal immigrants that are coming here are coming from the United States, 0.99

00:11:29.640 from New York City, which, as we know right now,

00:11:32.620 has a huge amount, hundreds of cases of coronavirus.

00:11:36.000 The governor of the state, who's a Democrat, actually,

00:11:38.660 has taken unprecedented steps to control the spread of this virus.

00:11:43.120 And right now, the government of Canada and the RCMP are enabling a situation

00:11:47.980 where people from the state of New York, who have come from other places,

00:11:52.400 keep in mind, from the Middle East, from everywhere from Somalia to Iran,

00:11:58.020 frankly, the problem is we have no idea where they've been.

00:12:00.540 Not that they should be in this country in the first place, but even more so now,

00:12:03.840 in a situation like this, they most certainly should not be coming through an unauthorized point

00:12:08.520 of entry.

00:12:10.080 Unfortunately, the RCMP are still enabling this and not arresting the illegal immigrants 1.00

00:12:14.460 on the spot.

00:12:15.080 I'm going to stand here as long as I can to figure out what's going on here,

00:12:18.160 to ask the illegals as they get loaded onto this bus,

00:12:21.000 if they've been screened at all in this building that's been set up here by the RCMP,

00:12:24.900 if the RCMP have any idea of what's going on in terms of any presence of the virus

00:12:29.500 and these illegals, we'll have to see what happens.

00:12:32.240 RCMP media.

00:12:33.540 I was here, I was here.

00:12:34.900 I'd like you just to stand on the road, please, because this is private property.

00:12:39.100 Is your camera on?

00:12:40.360 Yes.

00:12:40.860 Can you turn it off, please?

00:12:41.760 No.

00:12:42.780 Okay.

00:12:43.200 I'd like you to ask, I'll ask you to just move your vehicle,

00:12:46.360 because this is private property.

00:12:47.620 From the side of the road to here, it's private property.

00:12:53.420 So you'll have to go park your car on Fisher.

00:12:56.240 So the RCMP have told me to move my vehicle.

00:12:58.980 It's parked right over here.

00:13:01.000 They told me to go up the road about a kilometer.

00:13:03.760 He lied.

00:13:04.360 It's not 300 meters.

00:13:06.280 And it's clear that they just wanted to get the illegals in and out of that door, 0.99

00:13:09.420 out that door, and into that door, without any questions being asked of them.

00:13:14.800 That's why they wanted me to move my vehicle.

00:13:16.820 They say the SQ, the Quebec authorities, or whatever they call them,

00:13:20.500 are going to come and give me a ticket.

00:13:22.200 I'm not super concerned about that one.

00:13:24.080 I'm going to stay here as long as it takes for me to ask these illegals some questions, 1.00

00:13:27.600 and maybe give them some hand sanitizer,

00:13:29.300 since we have no idea where they have been outside of the fact that they came illegally

00:13:34.580 into this country from the state of New York.

00:13:59.300 Do you guys realize you're jeopardizing the health and safety of every Canadian

00:14:06.980 by not screening these illegals immigrants for coronavirus? 1.00

00:14:10.520 Do you even care?

00:14:11.520 Are you going to check these illegals for coronavirus?

00:14:41.520 before you let them into our country? 1.00

00:14:49.080 Where have you guys been?

00:14:51.860 Where are you from?

00:14:55.560 Not from New York.

00:14:58.420 Where are you from?

00:15:00.180 The Congo?

00:15:02.960 Have you been checked for the coronavirus?

00:15:06.900 Where'd you get those designer bags?

00:15:09.940 Huh?

00:15:11.520 What do you think gives you the right to come into this country? 0.85

00:15:18.080 Huh?

00:15:18.200 I'm going to go that way.

00:15:27.580 You guys are going to make them carry their bags themselves before you check them, hey?

00:15:30.960 Does it bother you what Justin Trudeau is making you do to this country?

00:15:44.640 Does it bother you at all? 1.00

00:15:46.520 Why don't you shut the f*** up, man? 0.99

00:15:48.020 Why are you harassing people? 1.00

00:15:49.520 Why am I harassing people?

00:15:51.300 I'm not harassing anyone.

00:15:52.520 I'm trying to figure out what this government is doing to make sure that no viral load comes

00:15:57.640 in through illegal immigrants?

00:15:59.360 Where have you guys been?

00:16:02.760 Have you been to any viral hotspots?

00:16:04.880 Have the RCMP checked you at all?

00:16:06.360 Have the RCMP checked you at all for coronavirus?

00:16:12.600 Sir, why do you think it's your right to come into this country? 1.00

00:16:16.620 Have you checked them for...

00:16:21.540 Take some hand sanitizer.

00:16:24.840 Take some hand sanitizer.

00:16:26.220 Take some hand sanitizer.

00:16:26.260 I'm just curious, did new fencing get erected?

00:16:51.700 They said you needed time to put up new fences.

00:16:55.780 We're not allowed to answer a question.

00:16:57.940 Oh, you can't answer that even.

00:16:59.140 As you just saw, I spoke to a couple of RCMP constables.

00:17:02.300 They're not allowed to say anything, even really innocuous questions such as,

00:17:06.840 did you erect new fencing as the Quebec Provincial Police Officer had told me had been done?

00:17:13.420 Or whether any new illegal migrants since last night when I was last here have tried to breach the border.

00:17:23.220 They gave me a card for the communications staff and I will indeed reach out to them later.

00:17:29.060 I can say that I don't see any evidence of any enhanced fencing.

00:17:36.480 That's not to say nothing's being done.

00:17:38.860 And it's just from my vantage point, I'm, you know, a good 100 or so, 200 or so meters away from the crossing

00:17:46.720 where this barricade has been erected, warning of no trespassing.

00:17:51.560 I do, however, notice there's a couple of RCMP SUV police cruisers that are near that white goalpost,

00:18:01.980 if you want to call it that, that separates the border of New York State and the province of Quebec.

00:18:07.040 And I didn't see that presence here last night.

00:18:10.840 I can't help but notice how bizarre it is here at Roxham Road, that there are these no trespass signs

00:18:20.160 and universal no trespass icons erected here.

00:18:25.720 That, of course, is for law-abiding Canadians to abide.

00:18:31.760 I am sure if I were to ignore that signage and go past this little metal barricade, which would be easy to do,

00:18:40.480 I have no doubt I'd be charged or at least very sternly warned.

00:18:44.740 However, if you're on the other side of this barricade and you're not a Canadian and you're not a taxpayer

00:18:51.400 and you are clearly illegally crossing from the United States into Canada, well, it's a different story.

00:19:00.000 There are no trespassing charges being applied.

00:19:02.860 Rather, you're getting a gold-plated benefit program, including free dental care.

00:19:08.120 Wish I had that.

00:19:09.760 Ryan Katsu Rivera here at Roxham Road.

00:19:12.200 This is the very end of the United States, and right here is a sign that says Road Closed.

00:19:17.960 And they make it pretty clear for you to stop and that you'll be returned back to the United States of America if you cross it.

00:19:24.860 Justin Trudeau said that he would not take any more immigrants, but as it stands right now,

00:19:29.060 over 50,000 have been taken in and none of them have been sent back.

00:19:32.640 None of them have been arrested.

00:19:33.940 It's just been open.

00:19:35.000 But Trudeau got a lot of pressure from people because of the quarantine and the lockdown due to COVID-19.

00:19:42.700 They're saying, why is the border still open?

00:19:44.760 So he promised that it's shut.

00:19:46.740 Trump has said that he's going to take more precautions and have a little more security on this side.

00:19:51.900 But there's a couple of vehicles, some cameras on there, some sort of solar paneling.

00:19:58.840 And other than that, I haven't been greeted by anybody.

00:20:01.740 There's a door open there.

00:20:02.980 Maybe there'll be somebody to come out to talk to me if they, you know, if they're wondering what I'm doing here or anything.

00:20:08.780 But so far, I guess this is the road that they cross.

00:20:12.580 I mean, that's kind of a fence.

00:20:14.320 That's a barricade that you might see at the front row of a concert hall.

00:20:21.160 Pretty unimpressive as far as security and patrolling goes.

00:20:25.480 I just spoke with Ezra and he informed me that this pylon looking thing here is actually the point, you know, on this side is America.

00:20:36.200 On that side is Canada.

00:20:37.720 So it's within my rights.

00:20:39.640 I'm sure I'm being watched by some security camera that this is the United States side.

00:20:45.420 Actually, it does say it right there.

00:20:47.460 United States, U.S.

00:20:49.400 Now on that side, I don't know if you can see it.

00:20:51.940 It says Canada.

00:20:54.440 So I am in America.

00:20:58.320 This is law abiding.

00:21:01.160 Totally fine to do.

00:21:02.380 What I'm noticing right off the bat here, I don't see any footprints in there at all.

00:21:06.100 This is all just marshy type stuff.

00:21:09.260 I don't know if.

00:21:12.100 Oh, there we go.

00:21:13.500 What's that?

00:21:22.000 I'm getting bird calls.

00:21:24.280 Cuckoo.

00:21:29.720 I might have just initiated a drug deal of some sort.

00:21:33.480 Oh, there is a there is a car coming here.

00:21:35.460 A police car.

00:21:37.500 Oh, that is customs and border control.

00:21:41.080 I'm a reporter with Rebel Media.

00:21:43.520 Rebel Media.

00:21:44.680 Yes.

00:21:45.380 What part of New York?

00:21:46.460 What about you up here?

00:21:48.060 What's that?

00:21:48.600 Just to.

00:21:49.500 Well, I wanted to see if there was any extra border patrol due to the fact that the COVID-19 thing,

00:21:55.120 Trump said that he was going to have like an extra presence here.

00:21:58.780 And, you know, just there's some Canadian reporters on the other side.

00:22:03.140 Couldn't get too close.

00:22:04.360 And they also didn't notice that there was too much of a difference with the the presence there.

00:22:08.580 I didn't want to.

00:22:09.060 I'm not going to get you guys on tape.

00:22:10.820 No.

00:22:11.380 You know, you're going to turn it off right now.

00:22:13.300 Oh, OK.

00:22:13.840 I mean, this is something people do to just go home like everybody else.

00:22:24.060 Essential problem.

00:22:25.060 This is not intentional.

00:22:26.540 No, it's not.

00:22:27.160 Because it's a thing with them?

00:22:28.280 Yeah.

00:22:28.660 If it wasn't, this would be fun.

00:22:30.160 No, it's still a thing with them.

00:22:31.100 You know, like people just walk around here and abating and abating and abating.

00:22:34.900 People leave.

00:22:35.720 People sometimes murder through the camera, right?

00:22:38.340 Killed somebody in New York City, skip in the camera.

00:22:40.460 We never care.

00:22:40.980 All right, we have a good day.

00:22:43.280 You and I.

00:22:45.300 Well, that's that.

00:22:49.280 Hopefully you heard some of that.

00:22:50.700 But basically, they don't like people poking around here.

00:22:53.040 I believe one of these guys hollered at me and they went.

00:22:57.400 Nobody popped out to talk to me.

00:22:59.280 They're all smiling and laughing, I see.

00:23:00.960 But one person went, co-co, co-co, a couple times.

00:23:05.120 Justin Trudeau's government is funding a research project headed by Chinese scientists at the very lab many suspect is responsible for birthing the coronavirus upon the entire world. 0.99

00:23:18.300 But first, we have to go back a little bit to put this all into context.

00:23:22.900 Let's start here with this incredible piece in the Washington Post by Josh Rogan.

00:23:28.180 In January 2018, the U.S. Embassy in Beijing took the unusual step of repeatedly sending U.S. science diplomats to the Wuhan Institute of Virology, that's the WIV, which had in 2015 become China's first laboratory to achieve the highest level of international bio-research safety, known as BSL-4.

00:23:50.120 WIV issued a news release in English about the last of these visits, which occurred on March 27, 2018.

00:23:58.240 The U.S. delegation was led by Jameson Faust, the Consul General in Wuhan, and Rick Switzer, the Embassy's Counselor of Environment, Science, Technology, and Health.

00:24:08.080 Last week, WIV erased that statement from its website, though it remains archived on the Internet.

00:24:15.080 What the U.S. officials learned during their visits concerned them so much that they dispatched two diplomatic cables categorized as sensitive but unclassified back to Washington.

00:24:28.940 The cables warned about safety and management weaknesses at the WIV lab and proposed more attention and help.

00:24:36.200 The first cable, which Rogan obtained, also warns that the lab's work on bat coronaviruses and their potential human transmission represented a risk of a new SARS-like pandemic.

00:24:49.600 During interactions with scientists at the WIV laboratory, they noted the new lab has a serious shortage of appropriately trained technicians and investigators needed to safely operate this high-containment laboratory,

00:25:03.660 states the January 19, 2018 cable, which was drafted by two officials from the Embassy's Environment, Science, and Health sections, who met with the WIV scientists.

00:25:15.560 The State Department declined to comment on this and other details of the story.

00:25:21.280 The U.S. visitors met with Shi Zhen Li, the head of the research project, who had been publishing studies related to bat coronaviruses for many years.

00:25:31.860 In November 2017, just before the U.S. officials' visit, Shi's team had published research showing that horseshoe bats they had collected from a cave in Wunan province were very likely from the same bat population that spawned the SARS coronavirus in 2003.

00:25:49.420 Okay, so this is a lab that collects deadly viruses that have already caused problems in the world, like SARS.

00:25:57.120 And the Americans were so concerned about the shoddy conditions at this lab that deals with highly infectious and dangerous diseases in Wuhan, China,

00:26:06.060 that they dispatched two science diplomats, which is something I've never even heard of before.

00:26:11.720 And then these science diplomats were sending warnings back to Washington about the potential for this lab to cause a plague.

00:26:19.480 So naturally, Canada's Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, is now engaging in a research project with this dangerous Chinese laboratory 1.00

00:26:27.140 and relying on scientists on the ground in Wuhan, China, to do all the research.

00:26:32.160 But don't take my word for it. Let me show you.

00:26:34.880 This is from the Canadian government website that lists a series of grants to study this new coronavirus.

00:26:42.900 To contribute to global efforts to address the 2019 novel coronavirus outbreak,

00:26:48.840 on February 10, 2020, the government of Canada launched a rapid research funding competition.

00:26:55.140 Canada's researchers were quick to respond, submitting hundreds of applications in just a week.

00:27:01.400 It looks like the Canadian government, in an effort to move fast instead of smart,

00:27:08.400 seems to be giving Canadian tax money to, well, possibly the bad guys of the outbreak.

00:27:14.940 Here's this grant headed by a researcher at the University of Alberta in Edmonton.

00:27:20.540 The grant itself is to develop a form of rapid testing for the virus in places where resources are limited, like poor countries.

00:27:28.940 It's a noble idea, but unfortunately, it includes collaboration with what is possibly the researchers who are the source of the coronavirus disease.

00:27:39.400 Look at this.

00:27:40.360 This research addresses the urgent need of rapid point-of-care diagnostics of COVID-19.

00:27:46.280 The collaborative research is conducted by a multidisciplinary team of virologists, chemists, infectious disease specialists,

00:27:54.360 frontline practitioners, and public health researchers from the University of Alberta,

00:27:59.580 Canadian Food Inspection Agency, and Wuhan Institute of Virology in China.

00:28:05.780 Now, here's the grant value.

00:28:07.280 $828,000 and change.

00:28:10.700 One more thing.

00:28:11.540 Look at this.

00:28:12.160 Our team members in Wuhan, who currently perform the standard diagnostic tests, will lead this effort.

00:28:20.960 So, to clarify, these Chinese scientists, either loyal to the Chinese Communist state,

00:28:25.860 or completely muzzled by the Chinese Communist state, or fearing being disappeared by the Chinese Communist state,

00:28:32.920 and who are currently working at the virus lab that is likely responsible for the initial spread of the coronavirus,

00:28:39.740 are going to lead the Canadian-funded research effort into rapid testing for the virus.

00:28:47.100 China is one of the richest countries on the planet, if not the richest.

00:28:51.100 China lied and covered up this disease. 0.75

00:28:53.980 Dr. Theresa Tam, Canada's chief public health officer, must resign or be fired.

00:28:59.820 She's in a terrible conflict of interest, because she works right now for the China-controlled World Health Organization.

00:29:08.140 I have a petition at www.firetam.com that I'd like you to go to right now and sign and share with your friends.

00:29:17.780 It's at www.firetam.com.

00:29:20.480 In the meantime, let me explain why.

00:29:22.720 As you may have heard, the World Health Organization covered up the Wuhan virus for the Chinese government,

00:29:29.180 so they endangered millions of lives around the world by lying on behalf of China's dictatorship.

00:29:35.140 Look at this example, published by the World Health Organization on January 14th,

00:29:39.860 where they cite Chinese propaganda that the virus does not spread from person to person, but it does.

00:29:46.080 It's very contagious.

00:29:47.320 That false disinformation put the rest of the world at ease and allowed the virus to spread globally.

00:29:55.180 That WHO lie made us let down our guard and continue accepting flights from Wuhan, China.

00:30:02.840 It really shouldn't be called the World Health Organization, because it doesn't serve the world.

00:30:08.040 It serves Communist China, who installed the WHO Secretary General, Tedros Adhanom,

00:30:14.180 who calls himself a doctor, but he doesn't actually have a medical degree.

00:30:18.100 He's the first head of the WHO who isn't really a medical doctor.

00:30:22.440 When he was a political boss back in Ethiopia, his claim to fame was actually covering up cholera epidemics in his own country.

00:30:30.260 That's who runs the WHO.

00:30:32.880 No wonder Donald Trump announced that he's cutting off funding to the WHO.

00:30:37.120 Today, I'm instructing my administration to halt funding of the World Health Organization

00:30:44.140 while a review is conducted to assess the World Health Organization's role

00:30:51.000 in severely mismanaging and covering up the spread of the coronavirus.

00:30:57.640 Everybody knows what's going on there.

00:30:59.440 Okay, so what about Canada?

00:31:02.420 Our chief public health officer is named Teresa Tam,

00:31:05.700 and she continuously cites the WHO as her source of authority.

00:31:10.660 Canada is part of an international effort, and at the WHO.

00:31:14.220 But what I do know, given my communication with the World Health Organization,

00:31:19.900 I think one of the members asked about travel bans,

00:31:24.820 like stopping people from actually traveling,

00:31:27.360 and the reason why the World Health Organization doesn't recommend something like this

00:31:33.820 is that, in general, it may do more harm than good.

00:31:39.480 She said closing the border to travelers from virus hotspots in China doesn't work.

00:31:44.680 That's not true either.

00:31:46.540 It may be sort of anti-intuitive for people to understand this,

00:31:50.100 but the more countries that are impacted

00:31:53.060 means that your border measure is going to be much less effective

00:31:56.600 and definitely not feasible.

00:31:58.860 And just like the WHO and Communist China, 0.90

00:32:02.140 she spent January denouncing anyone worried about the virus as racist

00:32:07.300 and told people to shut up.

00:32:09.860 It's to our national shame that Canada has been deeply involved in the WHO's pro-China biases.

00:32:16.160 Here's another Canadian doctor, Bruce Aylward,

00:32:18.980 who is the WHO point man on the virus.

00:32:21.340 He was asked a basic question about the virus and how Taiwan is handling it,

00:32:26.560 but Taiwan is a country that China despises.

00:32:29.980 So instead of answering the question like a doctor,

00:32:33.080 he just hung up on the reporter.

00:32:35.460 This is politics, not medicine.

00:32:37.600 Would the WHO consider Taiwan's membership?

00:32:41.400 I couldn't hear your question.

00:32:54.820 Okay, yeah, let me repeat the question.

00:32:56.960 No, that's okay.

00:32:57.600 Let's move to another one then.

00:32:58.900 Yeah, that's a Canadian public health doctor acting as a Chinese political enforcer.

00:33:05.320 That's just wrong.

00:33:06.840 That's actually corrupting our doctors and medicine.

00:33:10.300 Should Canada quit the WHO too?

00:33:12.220 I think so.

00:33:13.160 But here's the problem.

00:33:14.500 The person who would help make that decision is Theresa Tam herself.

00:33:19.160 Except that she doesn't just take orders from the WHO. 0.60

00:33:22.540 She literally works for it right now. 1.00

00:33:27.300 And not just as some low-ranking bureaucrat.

00:33:30.720 She's on an important WHO committee in charge of health emergencies around the world.

00:33:37.600 She's actually on the oversight committee.

00:33:40.660 You can see she's one of seven people on that committee.

00:33:43.580 Her name is right there on the bottom right.

00:33:46.140 So she's actually a boss at the WHO.

00:33:49.940 It's her job to be a sort of auditor, making sure the WHO does real medicine, not politics.

00:33:57.420 So the WHO's political corruption happened when it was literally her job to stop it.

00:34:04.680 It was on her watch.

00:34:07.860 She didn't stop it.

00:34:08.800 She either approved of it or was blind to it.

00:34:13.000 She was one of seven people in the whole world whose job was to make sure that the Chinese Communist Party

00:34:17.920 and its politics didn't derail this emergency.

00:34:22.780 She didn't do her job.

00:34:25.160 And she stands by the corrupt WHO to this day.

00:34:29.160 Who does she even work for? 1.00

00:34:30.500 Canada or China's WHO?

00:34:33.380 Because you have to choose sides now.

00:34:35.700 She is in a conflict of interest.

00:34:37.880 She cannot give Canadians good medical advice because she works for China's WHO.

00:34:42.200 And she can't give Trudeau good political advice about the WHO

00:34:46.840 because it was she herself who approved their scandalous conduct.

00:34:51.920 It's impossible for her to be a neutral, objective judge about the WHO's misconduct

00:34:57.560 because she rubber-stamped that misconduct personally on that committee. 1.00

00:35:04.160 She should have resigned the WHO, but she won't.

00:35:06.800 Just like Bruce Aylward won't.

00:35:10.260 Because they work for China. 1.00

00:35:12.500 Because they aid and abet China's propaganda.

00:35:15.280 We have to fire TAM. 1.00

00:35:17.740 If you agree with me, go to firetam.com

00:35:20.600 and forward this video to your friends

00:35:22.800 so they can learn the truth about Teresa TAM

00:35:25.140 and her intolerable conflict of interest.

00:35:28.380 I have a new book for sale.

00:35:29.840 It's called China Virus, How Justin Trudeau's Pro-Communist Ideology

00:35:34.680 is Putting Canadians in Danger. 0.85

00:35:37.540 You can get it now at ChinaVirusBook.com or on Amazon.

00:35:41.540 It's just $7.50 for the Kindle version or $14.50 for a paperback.

00:35:45.800 But you'd better get it quick.

00:35:48.420 Amazon banned this book for two months,

00:35:51.340 refusing to sell it because it dared to criticize Trudeau

00:35:55.180 and the World Health Organization.

00:35:57.480 Amazon actually said that.

00:35:58.620 I'll show you their letter in a moment.

00:36:00.520 They've relented for now,

00:36:01.900 and hopefully they won't censor it again,

00:36:03.420 but you might want to get it now just in case.

00:36:06.340 It's a quick read, but it's jam-packed

00:36:08.740 with facts that you probably won't find in the mainstream media.

00:36:12.040 Like this one.

00:36:12.840 Did you know that Justin Trudeau's brother,

00:36:14.840 Sasha Trudeau,

00:36:16.300 did you know that he actually wrote a propaganda book

00:36:18.620 for the Chinese Communist Party?

00:36:20.740 Just a couple of years ago.

00:36:21.940 He could have published the book about China with any publisher,

00:36:25.780 but he chose to go with the Chinese dictatorship itself.

00:36:29.300 They loved it because it was propaganda,

00:36:31.540 and Sasha Trudeau boasted about that

00:36:33.800 and how he got his brother Justin to read it

00:36:36.140 just before going over to China on his first state visit there.

00:36:39.720 The book, and why that title?

00:36:41.220 Well, the book itself,

00:36:42.060 It's sort of an organic phenomenon.

00:36:47.500 The Chinese wanted to write a book on my father's visit to China,

00:36:51.800 and they asked me to write.

00:36:52.960 This was in 1960,

00:36:53.700 and they asked me to write the preface,

00:36:55.620 and the Canadian edition was published in Vancouver.

00:36:58.040 They published it,

00:36:59.120 so they asked me to write a longer preface,

00:37:02.100 and I said, fine,

00:37:03.140 but I would like to go back to China

00:37:05.040 and get into things,

00:37:07.060 rediscover the country.

00:37:08.520 And when I went there,

00:37:09.440 I found I had so many things to say

00:37:11.080 that they said,

00:37:11.800 well, we can't put that in a preface,

00:37:13.480 so we'll put it in a section.

00:37:16.280 And actually,

00:37:16.980 we'd like you to write a full book on it.

00:37:18.920 Did you know about that influence on Justin Trudeau?

00:37:22.540 Do you know about how the Chinese IT giant Huawei

00:37:26.220 gets around the ban on foreign corporations

00:37:29.160 donating to the Liberal Party

00:37:30.760 by donating huge sums

00:37:32.600 directly to Trudeau's in-house think tank

00:37:35.160 called Canada 2020

00:37:36.740 that's run by Trudeau's lifelong friend?

00:37:39.720 Huawei's not even hiding it.

00:37:41.140 They're rubbing your face in it.

00:37:43.400 Did you know about this craziness?

00:37:46.240 Trudeau actually orders

00:37:47.380 Canada's environment minister

00:37:48.980 to work on a committee

00:37:50.360 of the Chinese dictatorship.

00:37:51.860 It's not a bilateral thing

00:37:53.060 like a Canada-China trade group or anything.

00:37:55.340 It's just a committee

00:37:56.240 of the Chinese government

00:37:57.980 working for them, full stop.

00:37:59.840 A Canadian government cabinet minister

00:38:02.020 has been ordered by Trudeau

00:38:03.660 to work for the Chinese government.

00:38:06.220 Oh, and we paid China 0.99

00:38:07.840 $1.6 million a year for the privilege.

00:38:09.960 Did you even know about that?

00:38:11.980 What, the CBC didn't tell you about it?

00:38:13.920 Well, there are over 100

00:38:15.740 fully footnoted facts like that in the book.

00:38:19.300 Obviously, the reason we're talking about China

00:38:21.220 and Trudeau's obedience to it

00:38:22.680 is the coronavirus

00:38:23.780 that Trudeau just let into our country

00:38:26.120 because he refused

00:38:27.220 to stop flights from China.

00:38:29.700 Trudeau and his public health officer,

00:38:31.220 Theresa Tam,

00:38:32.080 called anyone who wanted to close the border

00:38:34.020 racist, 0.77

00:38:36.240 except that the people

00:38:36.960 who first called for the border to be closed

00:38:38.860 are actually Chinese Canadians

00:38:40.860 because they knew that the Communist Party

00:38:42.920 was lying about the virus.

00:38:44.020 I document that in the book, too.

00:38:46.200 I document how Theresa Tam

00:38:47.600 kept working for the UN's

00:38:49.780 World Health Organization

00:38:51.280 even as the pandemic unfolded

00:38:53.420 and how she always put the WHO first.

00:38:56.640 Even skipping critical briefings

00:38:58.460 here in Canada,

00:38:59.420 she was actually part of the UN committee

00:39:01.440 that whitewashed China's lies 1.00

00:39:03.740 about the virus.

00:39:04.760 I prove that in the book, too.

00:39:07.440 That's what this book is really about.

00:39:09.060 It's not even really about the coronavirus.

00:39:12.260 It's about how the virus

00:39:13.240 has exposed Trudeau's deep connections

00:39:15.220 to the Chinese Communist Party

00:39:17.020 and how it reveals

00:39:18.280 his own tyrannical instincts

00:39:20.100 from shutting down parliament

00:39:21.640 to banning journalists he doesn't like.

00:39:25.200 Speaking of which,

00:39:26.480 I mentioned that Amazon banned the book

00:39:28.280 for two months.

00:39:30.180 I've published seven best-selling books

00:39:32.140 on Amazon,

00:39:33.200 including The Libranos,

00:39:34.540 which went to number one.

00:39:36.200 I don't know if you remember,

00:39:37.200 but earlier this year,

00:39:38.500 Trudeau sent two policemen

00:39:39.780 from the election commissioner's office

00:39:41.660 to interrogate me about that book,

00:39:43.660 claiming it was an illegal political activity.

00:39:46.160 I'm serious.

00:39:47.140 Well, surprise, surprise,

00:39:48.460 we went to upload this book

00:39:50.160 in late April,

00:39:51.820 two months ago,

00:39:53.140 and Amazon refused.

00:39:55.480 They just refused.

00:39:56.840 When we asked them why,

00:39:58.080 they said, quote,

00:39:58.940 we are referring customers

00:40:01.320 to official sources

00:40:03.780 for health information

00:40:04.820 about the virus.

00:40:05.960 As a result,

00:40:07.040 we are not offering

00:40:08.200 your book for sale.

00:40:10.500 You know, Amazon

00:40:11.300 will actually sell you

00:40:13.000 Hitler's book,

00:40:13.740 Mein Kampf.

00:40:14.320 Amazon will sell you

00:40:15.700 Mao's Little Red book,

00:40:17.520 but they will not

00:40:18.440 sell you my book,

00:40:20.160 Criticizing China.

00:40:21.400 They actually said

00:40:22.520 the reason

00:40:23.180 was because I criticized

00:40:24.680 the official point of view.

00:40:25.780 because I dared to question

00:40:28.600 Trudeau, China,

00:40:30.680 the China-controlled

00:40:31.360 World Health Organization.

00:40:32.400 They didn't even hide

00:40:33.040 their reason.

00:40:34.560 We appealed

00:40:35.480 and we were rejected.

00:40:37.380 Then we had our

00:40:38.060 free speech lawyers

00:40:39.020 write Amazon a letter

00:40:40.160 explaining how the book

00:40:41.120 doesn't give any medical advice.

00:40:42.840 It's a political book.

00:40:44.140 But Amazon kept their ban

00:40:45.740 in place for two more months.

00:40:48.040 You could read our lawyer's letter

00:40:49.260 at ChinaVirusBook.com.

00:40:52.280 Amazon only finally relented

00:40:54.580 this week

00:40:55.340 They lifted their ban

00:40:56.900 with no explanation,

00:40:58.340 but it was a week

00:40:59.060 after I brought the ban

00:41:00.440 to the attention

00:41:01.140 of a senior American

00:41:03.040 political leader

00:41:04.020 who is known

00:41:05.040 for fighting

00:41:05.680 against Chinese censorship.

00:41:07.540 I wonder if that had

00:41:08.640 anything to do

00:41:09.320 with Amazon's about face.

00:41:11.440 Look, we know

00:41:12.100 that Justin Trudeau

00:41:12.860 is going to hate this book

00:41:13.800 and we know

00:41:14.320 that Chinese dictatorship 0.55

00:41:15.200 is going to hate this book.

00:41:16.800 This is the book

00:41:17.340 that Amazon.com

00:41:18.300 fought for two months

00:41:19.320 to ban,

00:41:20.060 but I think it's a book

00:41:20.960 that every Canadian

00:41:21.920 ought to read

00:41:22.640 to know the real danger

00:41:24.080 isn't actually

00:41:24.820 the coronavirus.

00:41:26.640 It's Trudeau's

00:41:27.420 ongoing love affair

00:41:28.640 with the world's

00:41:29.660 most brutal dictatorship.

00:41:31.240 That's what's

00:41:31.760 putting us all in danger.

00:41:33.740 Go to ChinaVirusBook.com

00:41:36.180 or go to Amazon

00:41:37.200 while you still can.

00:41:38.260 Well, what do you think?

00:41:51.100 I mean, at first

00:41:52.140 no one really knew

00:41:53.100 what to expect,

00:41:54.040 how bad it would be.

00:41:55.440 Was China covering up

00:41:57.020 millions of deaths

00:41:58.340 or did it simply overreact

00:42:00.520 as authoritarian countries

00:42:01.860 tended to do?

00:42:02.800 We simply didn't know

00:42:04.100 in those early weeks.

00:42:05.140 But after the pandemic

00:42:06.620 peaked in mid-April

00:42:07.880 and that turned into

00:42:08.940 May and June

00:42:09.880 and now July,

00:42:11.400 well, we started to realize

00:42:12.420 that the real risk

00:42:13.420 were our authoritarian

00:42:14.780 political leaders,

00:42:16.080 wouldn't you say?

00:42:17.180 Well, that's our show

00:42:18.020 for today.

00:42:18.580 Until next time,

00:42:19.540 on behalf of all of us

00:42:20.440 here at Rebel World

00:42:21.220 Headquarters,

00:42:21.820 to be with them,

00:42:22.380 good night

00:42:24.100 for freedom.

00:42:24.620 Listen to the audience

00:42:27.840 for forward.
