Rebel News Podcast - Is singer Bryan Adams racist for swearing at China？ The CBC thinks so

00:00:00.000 Hello, my rebels. Today, I talk about Brian Adams and his anger at the Chinese wet markets. 0.97

00:00:07.520 Is that really racist, as the CBC says, or are they just running another errand for the Chinese

00:00:12.920 Communist Party? I'll show you the proof. Before I do, let me invite you to become a Rebel News

00:00:30.000 Tonight is Brian Adams racist for swearing at China. The CBC thinks so. It's May 12th,

00:00:51.400 and this is the Ezra LeVant Show. Why should others go to jail when you're a biggest carbon

00:00:57.500 consumer? I know. There's 8,500 customers here, and you won't give them an answer. The only thing

00:01:03.140 I have to say to the government about why I publish it is because it's my bloody right to do so.

00:01:13.400 You know Brian Adams, right? The great Canadian, easy-listening rock star whose 80s hits like

00:01:19.240 Run to You and Summer of 69 made him a CanCon staple. He's led an interesting life. He's become

00:01:25.600 an accomplished photographer, too. He lives in London, mainly. He's 60 years old now, but

00:01:31.240 he looks great. I think he would pass for 40, and he still does concerts. And obviously, like everyone

00:01:37.220 else, he has had his concerts canceled because of the pandemic. So he took to Instagram to rant a bit.

00:01:43.860 He played his guitar and sang a song, but he typed out these words right next to it.

00:01:47.860 Cuts like a knife. A song by me. Tonight was supposed to be the beginning of a tenancy of gigs

00:01:54.700 at the Royal Albert Hall, but thanks to some effing bat-eating, wet-market-animal-selling, 1.00

00:02:00.480 virus-making, greedy bastards, the whole world is now on hold. Not to mention the thousands that have 0.99

00:02:05.700 suffered or died from this virus. My message to them, other than thanks an effing lot, is go vegan.

00:02:12.060 To all the people missing out on our shows, I wish I could be there more than you know.

00:02:15.060 It's been great hanging out in isolation with my children and family, but I miss my other family,

00:02:19.680 my band, my crew, and my fans. Take care of yourselves, and I hope we can get the show on

00:02:23.460 the road again soon. I'll be performing a snippet from each album we were supposed to perform

00:02:27.640 for the next few days. Love, song from isolation, COVID-19, band, wet markets, self-isolation,

00:02:33.620 Brian Adams, cuts like a knife, go vegan. So just to point out the obvious, he doesn't say anything

00:02:38.740 about race. He doesn't even say the word China. And he mentions the victims of the virus,

00:02:44.160 which obviously includes Chinese victims. And probably, in fact, if we ever do find out the

00:02:48.720 statistical truth that the Chinese Communist Party is covering up, it will likely be that China had

00:02:53.420 the most victims from the virus in the world. When Brian Adams said greedy bastards, I don't know who 0.99

00:02:59.220 exactly he meant, but I know what he meant by bat eating. He meant some of the more gross and 1.00

00:03:05.280 dangerous cuisines in China. And by wet markets, he meant the same places where wild animals, both

00:03:10.560 alive and dead, are sold for food in China. A dozen years ago, I walked through a wet market

00:03:15.340 in Shanghai, and the air was so thick with animal dust and dander and the smells of a thousand 1.00

00:03:20.300 things, I couldn't walk through it fast enough. I almost choked. Maybe that's me being a privileged

00:03:25.180 prissy. I hold my nose when I go to a chicken farm or a pig farm or a cattle feedlot in Canada. They

00:03:31.560 don't smell like daisies, but you generally don't have the entire chain of food production, including

00:03:36.960 eating it right under the same roof, in the same room. We use the phrase from farm to fork. You're

00:03:42.860 not sitting there in the cow pens, pig pens, eating. I think that's what he was ranting about,

00:03:49.940 because he's been a vegan, which is a hardcore form of vegetarianism. No milk or cheese even.

00:03:56.200 He's been that for decades. If you were a vegan, you would go berserk in China. There are a lot of 1.00

00:04:01.840 foods that I imagine people learned to eat from sheer starvation. It's the largest, hungriest

00:04:06.800 country in the world. Probably always has been the largest going back centuries. If it's between a 0.63

00:04:12.140 famine and eating anything with calories in it, you eat. I think of traditional Jewish foods that I

00:04:18.660 learned to love as a kid, and looking at them objectively, they're just European poor people food 1.00

00:04:25.740 making do with things that are actually sort of awful. There's a Jewish kind of haggis. You know what 1.00

00:04:31.000 haggis is? Well, there's a Jewish version called kishka. You don't eat that if you have other 0.99

00:04:35.940 choices. But if you don't have other choices, you eat what you can, and you say, hmm, this is great.

00:04:41.600 Maybe that's what happened. But China could probably lay off eating bats now. That country doesn't face 0.99

00:04:47.200 starvation anymore, thank capitalism. So is Brian Adams being racist? Of course not. Is he mad at China?

00:04:54.040 Of course he is. And you should be too. Is Brian Adams mad at the Chinese race? Of course not.

00:05:00.900 He's mad at the Chinese government, the Chinese Communist Party, the Chinese virus, and the bat

00:05:06.660 eating theory that the Chinese government itself has promoted. So I suppose in that one way, he's

00:05:11.380 critical of an aspect of one expression of Chinese culture, these wet markets. But I know a lot of

00:05:16.980 Chinese people, mainly here in Canada, but around the world too. And I'm pretty sure that not a single

00:05:21.020 one of them ever ate a bat. Brian Adams is not smearing them. He's shouting at the sky because of what

00:05:26.160 happened, as are all of us, including many Chinese people both here and there. Well, you know we're

00:05:32.720 returning to a sense of pre-pandemic normalcy when the CBC state broadcaster decides that his Instagram

00:05:39.500 post is worthy of a racial witch hunt. It's gross. It's not real journalism. It's outrage porn. It's 0.97

00:05:44.880 activism. It's part of the CBC's agenda to excuse the Chinese Communist Party and to paint critics of

00:05:50.300 the virus as racist. But in a way, it's good to see that things are returning to normal. I drove to work

00:05:55.100 today and for the first time in nearly two months, it was a traffic jam in Toronto. A traffic jam as

00:06:00.040 in people are done with the pandemic panic. Anyways, cue the outrage police. They're back too.

00:06:06.140 They weren't really working these past two months, but they've certainly been paid these past two

00:06:09.660 months. The CBC, how is that possibly an essential service when literally 99% of Canadians don't watch

00:06:15.540 CBC news? Seriously, how in the age of a million YouTube channels, hundreds of cable channels,

00:06:20.600 Netflix, Amazon Prime, HBO, Disney+, Crave, whatever, there's a new streaming service every week, Quibi?

00:06:27.380 How does the CBC still manage to liberate $1.5 billion a year from taxpayers for content no one wants,

00:06:33.720 no one would pay for on their own? Well, obviously, by serving Justin Trudeau's interests, by stoking outrage

00:06:40.420 at anyone who dares to challenge Trudeau's liberal narrative. That's worth $1.5 billion a year to Trudeau.

00:06:46.960 Well, you bet it is. So here's their stab at Brian Adams. Brian Adams's Instagram post draws rebukes

00:06:54.980 from Chinese-Canadian organization social media users. Warning, the story contains offensive

00:07:00.740 language. Oh, did Brian Adams swear? Did he use a racist word? He didn't swear at Chinese people. He

00:07:07.400 didn't use a racist word, but the CBC wants to hype this up a bit. Look at that construction of the

00:07:12.100 headline. Some social media users are mad. I got a bit of a secret for you, and maybe you already

00:07:16.740 know it. Some social media users are always mad at something because you've got, I don't know,

00:07:20.740 2 billion people around the world on Facebook alone, and everyone has a comment on something. So

00:07:25.080 that's not really the definition of news, but it's a trick that weak journalists use when they want to

00:07:30.460 gin up a story and don't really have a lot to go on other than their own opinions. They want to turn

00:07:34.340 it into news, just like when the CBC went after the Epoch Times newspaper. They literally quoted

00:07:38.840 one woman, a liberal woman in BC, who simply said she thought the Epoch Times was racist or something,

00:07:45.700 even though she is white and the Epoch Times is an ethnically Chinese newspaper. That random person

00:07:52.500 from BC was not an expert or an authoritative source on China, racism or anything. She was just

00:07:58.060 literally one out of 37 and a half million Canadians who said something. The CBC then turned into

00:08:03.660 Canadians upset. That was their headline. Yeah, a more accurate headline would have been Canadian 0.73

00:08:09.400 upset. It's the same fake news here. A prominent Chinese Canadian activist said she is shocked,

00:08:17.700 disappointed, and angry about an Instagram post on Canadian singer Bryden Adams' official account

00:08:22.600 that she and others say is racist. Oh, so this time it's a prominent woman, not just some random

00:08:27.720 person like in their Epoch Times smear. I wonder who that prominent person is. I can hardly wait to find

00:08:33.560 out. I like following prominent people. The post contains a snippet of Adams singing his hit song,

00:08:39.860 Cuts Like a Knife. An accompanying description expresses his frustration that COVID-19 related

00:08:44.520 restrictions have led to the postponing of three shows at the Royal Albert Hall in London, England.

00:08:48.940 Okay, I'm waiting for the racist part still. Tonight was supposed to be the beginning of a

00:08:53.100 tendency of gigs at Royal Albert Hall, but thanks to some effing bat-eating wet market animal-selling 1.00

00:08:57.520 virus-making greeting bastards, the whole world is now on hold, the post read. 0.98

00:09:01.040 Again, my message to them, other than thanks and effing lot, is go vegan. Okay, so I guess 0.99

00:09:07.000 that's the offensive language part is pro-vegan swear. So where's this prominent person I was

00:09:12.000 promised? Oh, here. Amy Go, the president. Wow, that's pretty, that's very senior. The president of

00:09:20.020 the Chinese Canadian National Council for Social Justice called the post racist and believes it

00:09:26.240 could stoke hate to the Chinese Canadians. Quote, people look up to public figures. He is seen as an

00:09:30.100 idol by many, Go said. It justifies his racist hatred against Chinese. This is so irresponsible,

00:09:35.740 just so, so, so, so racist. You know it's very racist because she said so four times.

00:09:43.700 As the coronavirus pandemic has spread, many have raised concerns about growing anti-Asian and anti-Chinese

00:09:48.400 racism in Canada with reports of anti-Asian hate crimes on the rise in Vancouver, including physical and

00:09:53.420 verbal attacks. Okay, Amy Go, I guess, is the prominent person we were promised. I had never

00:09:59.200 heard of her. Have you? I know plenty of prominent Chinese Canadians. There are plenty of Chinese

00:10:06.960 Canadians in high stations in life in Canada, in business, in politics of every party. Amy Go,

00:10:13.700 Amy Go. Doesn't ring a bell. How about that group, the Chinese Canadian National Council for Social

00:10:22.000 Justice? Have you ever heard of them before? They're prominent. The CBC just said so, so it's

00:10:28.000 got to be true. Now, I found their website. It looks like the organization was just invented a few

00:10:33.220 months ago. They announced they were formed, and then they only had a couple of small notices until

00:10:38.580 this year. They're literally a new creation. They had a student panel at a law school, co-sponsored

00:10:44.960 with someone else. That's all they pretty much did in 2019 at the very end, until the Chinese 0.99

00:10:51.520 virus came to Canada in January, when they started piping up, calling everyone racist who complained

00:10:56.740 about the pandemic. Seriously, I went through their entire website. There wasn't a substantive

00:11:02.200 thing they did until just three days after the first virus patient came from China to Canada. In

00:11:08.460 February, they submitted a paper to a parliamentary committee calling Canadians racist. And then their

00:11:13.880 big thing, before the virus shut down the whole world, was they took to the streets of Toronto

00:11:18.680 dressed in a virus-style hazmat suit, handing out hand sanitizer, saying to stop the spread of

00:11:25.220 racism. And they set up a website promoting that stunt. I'd be scared if someone came up to me in the

00:11:32.740 streets in a hazmat suit. Very creepy, very Chinese state propaganda-ish. So not so much concerned

00:11:40.260 about the virus, but pretty concerned about fighting racism. Okay, it's weird. They sound

00:11:45.820 like Chinese state propaganda, though. In fact, they have a video clip on their website of China's

00:11:50.480 man in the WHO calling everyone racist. Remember this?

00:11:54.120 It's so painful to see the level of stigma we're observing. Of course, we're human beings. We're not

00:12:02.360 angels. We make mistakes. But at the same time, we can make rational decisions too. And we can have the

00:12:13.820 right attitude and behavior. The stigma is more dangerous than the virus itself.

00:12:23.780 Okay, so who funded this whole thing that was created out of nowhere? I couldn't tell. There was

00:12:29.940 no About Us section on their homemade website. But if you scroll right down to the bottom, you find a link

00:12:36.700 to the brand new organization I mentioned before. And you see something called Hive. I'd heard of

00:12:46.300 that. That's a professional ad agency. Pretty fancy, pretty pricey. So you have an online group that was

00:12:54.060 just created a few months ago, really didn't do anything of note until the virus came. And then they

00:12:59.600 go from zero to launching a full-blown ad agency-constructed propaganda campaign, not public

00:13:07.780 health information about the virus, but a political campaign to demonize Canadians as racist by nature.

00:13:14.380 It's produced by a costly ad agency. We have no info on either the campaign website or the organization's

00:13:22.720 website about who their funding comes from, who runs it, including whether they take foreign funding,

00:13:28.300 including whether they take funding from the Chinese embassy or from the China-run World Health

00:13:33.960 Organization. Isn't that odd? Now, the CBC didn't mention that, did they? They didn't mention any of

00:13:39.120 that. They called them, what did they say again? A prominent Chinese-Canadian activist. Really?

00:13:45.320 Prominent. You know, you can find my email address and phone number on the internet with a quick Google.

00:13:50.100 I got about 10 email addresses. They all really do come here. I got staff helping read through. You can

00:13:55.100 contact me in about five minutes if you tried, and I'm not that prominent. So I tried to contact this

00:14:00.480 very prominent person, very famous, very credible, definitely not just some random person, and

00:14:06.260 definitely, for sure, absolutely not just a paid propagandist for a Chinese political organ. Never,

00:14:11.500 never, no, no. So, so, so. She absolutely came up with the money for this fancy ad agency by herself.

00:14:17.760 It's Bryan Adams who needs investigating for being against eating bats, the racist.

00:14:22.020 Is the CBC being used as a tool by a foreign government again, meddling in Canadian politics,

00:14:28.680 spreading disinformation? They sure seem to be in their recent smear against the Epoch Times.

00:14:34.600 And one of the journalists in this Bryan Adams story, Katie Nicholson, was in on that Epoch Times

00:14:40.480 smear too. But can I ask a question? Has there actually been a wave of anti-Chinese racism in Canada?

00:14:47.300 I don't mean anti-China, the country. I mean anti-Chinese, the ethnicity, the race. Well, 0.99

00:14:52.520 the CBC cites a few examples over the course of the last 90 days in our huge country of 37.5 million

00:14:58.820 people. They say, as the coronavirus pandemic has spread, many have raised concerns about growing

00:15:03.780 anti-Asian and anti-Chinese racism in Canada, with reports of anti-Asian hate crimes on the rise in

00:15:09.080 Vancouver, including physical and verbal attacks. And that's what the Toronto Star says too,

00:15:13.760 so you know it's true. They wrote about the creation of this prominent PR group. They actually

00:15:19.640 wrote about Amy Goh. Look at this. They said, Chinese organization launches stop the spread of

00:15:25.380 racism campaign amid coronavirus outbreak. Okay, so this story was from March 3rd. Amid a marked uptick

00:15:33.840 in harassment complaints from the Chinese community, a national organization launched a campaign Tuesday

00:15:38.320 to combat a different kind of sickness, coronavirus-inspired xenophobia. You still hear

00:15:43.240 comments from people on the street saying, oh, I'm fine because I stayed away from Chinatown, 1.00

00:15:46.980 Amy Goh, interim president of Chinese-Canadian National Council for Social Justice, said in an

00:15:51.900 interview, hmm, very prominent woman. I heard all about her in the CBC. Everyone's talking about Amy Goh.

00:15:58.400 I just can't find her phone number or email anywhere because she doesn't, I guess she's only prominent

00:16:04.700 to the people who will write a story along her narrative. She says anti-Asian bigotry is a huge

00:16:10.280 thing. Now, I hope that's not true. Is it true? I read the whole Toronto Star story. Here's what they

00:16:18.100 say. Complaints have been heard across the greater Toronto area. On February 2, a woman entered a flower

00:16:25.200 shop in the upper beaches and went on a racist tirade after asking the owner whether he had traveled

00:16:29.620 to Wuhan, China, the epicenter of the outbreak. On Feb 19, Toronto police charged a man after he

00:16:35.860 allegedly harassed and assaulted a woman wearing a medical mask on a TCC bus in downtown Toronto.

00:16:41.300 Police wouldn't say whether the incident was race-related. In late January, the owner of Wuhan

00:16:46.800 Noodle in Markham said the restaurant had lost two-thirds of its customers after being flooded with

00:16:50.860 racist comments on social media and prank phone calls following a viral post on the popular

00:16:54.740 Instagram page 6buzzTV. All right, asking someone if they went to Wuhan, I guess that could be asked

00:17:01.700 in a racist way in the flower shop case. But I think it is a question. Tens of thousands of people

00:17:10.660 did fly from Wuhan to Canada. Maybe the question in the flower shop was asked rudely. But those are

00:17:18.100 actually official questions that border police ask anyone flying in to Canada. It's to check for the

00:17:23.860 virus. That's where it came from. Wuhan Noodle that lost two-thirds of its customers back then.

00:17:30.500 David Menzies went to Wuhan Noodle in February. I'm not sure if it's racist to stay away from Wuhan

00:17:35.780 Noodle. I'm guessing most of their customers were Chinese ethnically, and they just didn't want to go 1.00

00:17:41.100 out to restaurants anymore. Canada's now shut down all of our restaurants pretty much. So can other

00:17:47.720 restaurants cite racism? Or is it only the one named after the virus's epicenter that

00:17:53.780 can cry racism? And the second example there, they cite that above the TTC bus, but they admit the

00:17:59.560 police didn't say it was racist. But I guess the star needed more than two weak examples to show a

00:18:05.960 trend. And that's it. Look, I'm glad there's no racist wave in Canada. I'm really glad. Stop trying

00:18:13.620 so hard to make one. Folks, do you think Canada's racist? Do you think that anyone, and I mean 99.999%

00:18:20.580 of people think this virus is somehow a racial or ethnic thing, as opposed to simply having come

00:18:27.380 from China? I mean, China's toughest critics are ethnically Chinese people. They're not racist.

00:18:32.940 They just hate the Communist Party of China. Being against the Soviet Union wasn't anti-Russian

00:18:38.060 bigotry. It was being anti-communist. The first victims of the Soviet Union were its own citizens. 0.66

00:18:44.000 Same with Communist China today. This is a fake story in the CBC. Of course it is.

00:18:47.720 Maybe there's a tiny tidbit that Brian Adams is mad at having his venue canceled and mad at people who

00:18:53.780 eat bats because he's a vegan and he finds that gross. That's a small entertainment story. But the

00:18:58.980 CBC turned this into a huge story, a political story, and they quoted the one and only prominent

00:19:04.240 Amy Goa's proof. I love that. Prominent critic. No one's ever heard of her. She's got a pop-up fake

00:19:10.640 astroturf group, political group that was inactive until just a couple months ago, but seems to have

00:19:16.640 scads of money to hire pro-ad agencies. Is the CBC pulling another trick here? I try to find Amy Goa. 0.73

00:19:23.360 There's no contact info for her. Maybe I should put a call into the Chinese consulate. I wonder if they

00:19:27.480 know how to get a hold of the prominent Amy Goa. I wonder if they're the ones who served up this story

00:19:32.080 to the CBC. It certainly serves the interests of Communist China, just like the CBC smear in the Epoch 0.91

00:19:37.200 Times did. Oh well. Brian Adams made another Instagram post in the wake of the kerfuffle. I'll

00:19:43.520 read it to you. Into the Fire, title track from the same album. Apologies to any and all that took

00:19:50.260 offense to my posting yesterday. No excuse, I just wanted to have a rant about the horrible animal

00:19:55.720 cruelty in these wet markets being the possible source of the virus and promoting veganism.

00:19:59.880 I have love for all people and my thoughts are with everyone dealing with this pandemic around

00:20:04.720 the world. Here's the appropriately titled song that would have been performed tonight at the

00:20:08.320 Royal Albert Hall. And he's still saying ban wet markets and go vegan. Yeah, I'm not sure if he

00:20:14.840 even needed to do that apology. I don't even think it was a real apology. It was the same answer if you

00:20:20.180 were offended. I don't think anyone thought for a moment that Brian Adams is a racist because he's mad 0.58

00:20:25.080 about the virus. I don't think the CBC thinks he's racist. And I don't think the CCP, the Communist

00:20:30.400 Party of China, thinks he's racist. I don't even think Amy Goh thinks he's racist. I think they all

00:20:35.200 just want to promote a narrative. The CBC, the CCB, and Amy Goh. The Canadians are racist. And that to 0.82

00:20:42.460 be mad about the virus is racist. And to hold the Chinese Communist dictatorship to account is racist.

00:20:48.740 That's the only way this fake news story makes sense. Which is probably why, true though,

00:20:54.120 CBC state broadcaster is at the center of it. Stay with us for more.

00:21:11.520 Seriously, you guys have a park. You live in the middle of a park. You don't need to

00:21:15.720 not essentially travel to Brooklyn. Come on, you won't even open roads for people of all backgrounds.

00:21:24.120 I'm not going to give it a break. This is selfish behavior. This is so terribly selfish.

00:21:33.320 You call yourself a progressive, but you chauffeur yourself to Brooklyn.

00:21:36.840 You force people to drive you. Thank you. Well, that's New York's Mayor Bill de Blasio being

00:21:46.160 heckled by a citizen for breaking his own rules about traveling and social distancing. Of course,

00:21:53.480 de Blasio set up a snitch line to be used on the little people. He didn't think it would be used on

00:21:59.680 himself. He's got a bit of a double standard that way. He loves to go to the gym, likes to go out for

00:22:04.420 a coffee, but he has a particular hatred for, I don't know, a particular ethnic community.

00:22:10.680 Colored me shocked. He issued this tweet.

00:22:13.700 My message to the Jewish community and all communities is this simple. The time for warnings 1.00

00:22:20.880 has passed. I've instructed the New York Police Department to proceed immediately to summons

00:22:25.200 or even arrest those who gather in large groups. This is about stopping this disease and saving lives,

00:22:31.700 period. That's pretty weird to group all one million New York Jews together. He's tired and furious with 0.85

00:22:41.420 the Jewish community, and he's going to send the police after them. That's not a good look, Bill. 0.54

00:22:47.140 That's not a good look, Bill. Well, I know one New Yorker who won't stand for this, who won't stand

00:22:54.760 for her civil liberties being pushed away by some hardcore left-wing mayor. You probably know who I'm 1.00

00:23:00.980 talking about. It's our old friend Pamela Geller, and she actually filed a lawsuit against Bill de

00:23:06.460 Blasio, and she joins us now. Pamela, great to see you. It's wonderful to be back, Ezra. Thank you for

00:23:12.140 having me. Well, it's our pleasure. Now, you don't just act as a commentator on the news. You get involved

00:23:18.880 and do stuff. You're an activist, too, and I have in front of me your lawsuit filed recently where you

00:23:27.080 were the plaintiff. You're suing Bill de Blasio individually and in his capacity as mayor, and you're suing

00:23:34.260 Dermot Shea, the police commission. Now, why don't you tell us a little bit about the lawsuit and what you

00:23:40.240 hope to achieve? Well, the lawsuit challenges Mayor de Blasio, his recent edict that the First Amendment no

00:23:49.660 longer applies in New York City, that you can no longer peacefully assemble. You can no longer peacefully

00:23:56.060 protest. Imagine that. And this past weekend, by the way, peaceful protesters were arrested,

00:24:02.880 and too many left-wing progressive politicians like Mayor de Blasio see this current panic as an

00:24:11.960 opportunity to impose draconian restrictions on our fundamental rights and liberties. His latest effort

00:24:20.000 is the most egregious that we have seen, the suspension of the ability to protest, the banning of protesting.

00:24:27.340 It's unfathomable that a government official, his thirst for power would go this far, and he needs to be stopped,

00:24:33.940 and we intend to do so.

00:24:36.060 Well, I always heard, because I watch CNN and read the New York Times, that the man who was going to take away

00:24:43.560 our civil liberties, the Nazi-like man in 2020, was Donald Trump. And yet I've seen no efforts by him to censor the

00:24:53.940 press to stop protest, to crack down on anyone. And I have to ask, Pamela, if these same rules being

00:25:00.760 enforced by Bill de Blasio, a hard left-wing Democrat, were imposed by any Republican, let alone Trump,

00:25:09.540 I have to think that New York would be the center of the resistance. It's where all the woke journalists

00:25:14.820 are, it's where Vox and the New York Times and every wannabe media star, it's the media headquarters of the country,

00:25:24.600 the liberal headquarters of the country, it voted, I don't know, 90% Democrat.

00:25:30.160 Why are all these civil libertarians fine when it's a Democrat who's putting handcuffs on them?

00:25:37.760 Because it's rights for me, but not for they. This is the left. The media is engaging in fear,

00:25:46.480 pornography, and panic incitement. I was actually heartened today when I thought of the German, 0.99

00:25:53.500 the number one newspaper in Europe, Bill, had said the lockdowns must end. We're seeing the opposite

00:26:00.260 here. We get fear-mongering extraordinaire. No one is discussing the fact that, for example,

00:26:07.700 the median age of the corona death is 82. No one's discussing the fact that it is not a danger

00:26:16.460 for children. No one is discussing the fact that half of the deaths were in nursing homes,

00:26:23.040 or the fact that our governor, New York City Governor Cuomo, sent corona-stricken seniors to

00:26:31.500 nursing homes. Can you imagine if instead of sending corona-stricken seniors to nursing homes,

00:26:37.560 thereby infecting how many elderly people and sentencing them to death? Because as you know, 0.98

00:26:44.380 the most vulnerable are the elderly with comorbidities. Imagine if he put everybody on that cocktail of

00:26:51.540 hydrochloroquine, Zithromax, and zinc. I think the number in New York would have been half.

00:26:57.160 Now, here again, there has been no criticism in the media of Governor Cuomo. None. No criticism,

00:27:04.240 really, of de Blasio. It's incredible. The subways were filthy. They were disgusting. You couldn't take

00:27:11.220 them. The essential workers, of course, because let me tell you something about the rich people in New

00:27:16.240 York City. They're gone. They went to their second homes. We have to see these Instagram pictures of

00:27:22.800 them laying by the pool, the horror of laying by the pool and being served lemonade. It is distressing

00:27:28.900 to me. I am a New Yorker, born and bred my whole life. I love this city, and I don't recognize it.

00:27:35.720 It is the most servile. If you look at the country, there are protests and there are demonstrations

00:27:42.380 in support of freedom, you know, protesting these shutdowns because they are draconian and they're

00:27:48.840 wrong and they're imposing on our unalienable rights. And in New York, there has been nothing.

00:27:57.640 Nothing. You know, when it's nice out, they go to the park and then they go home to their lockdown.

00:28:04.980 And at seven o'clock, it's like Oshkosh, Bogosh, Wisconsin here. People open their windows and they

00:28:11.340 bang pots. I'm not, I mean, I wince when I hear it. It really makes my skin crawl, but that's their

00:28:17.140 action. At seven o'clock, woo, woo, woo, woo. I don't know. What are they woo-wooing? I don't know

00:28:21.880 what they're wooing, but everybody is hiding. And I think it's, I think it's grotesque. Older people, 0.99

00:28:30.060 especially people with comorbidities should be, should shelter in place for their own safety,

00:28:36.240 but their entire generation of millennials and Gen Xers to be sacrificing their future because they

00:28:43.440 are. Everyone thinks you're going to what? It's all going to be okay when a vaccine comes? There's

00:28:48.860 going to be nothing left. These jobs won't be there. And so sometimes you need to be the person

00:28:54.400 to go out into the street and scream. And that's what this lawsuit is. The idea that he has banned

00:29:00.840 protests. You have to understand that in Michigan, those protests played a role. In Whitmer, Governor

00:29:08.980 Whitmer, who also had imposed draconian measures, she was forced to pull them back because of the 0.98

00:29:15.200 protests. And here in New York, you can't do it. Well, let me ask you about the domino effect or

00:29:23.040 people looking at other states and saying, hey, how come they get to open up and we don't? Because I

00:29:29.580 know that you have 50 states in the union and a lot of these decisions are made at the state level.

00:29:35.720 Some are even made at the city level. And there were some places I saw Senator Ted Cruz going to

00:29:40.880 get a haircut at the hair salon where the owner had actually been thrown in jail a couple of days

00:29:48.760 earlier by a judge. That created such a backlash reaction. The Texas Supreme Court freed her. And I

00:29:54.660 think that was sort of a breaking point where Texas said, all right, we've had enough of this.

00:29:58.540 At what point do New Yorkers say, hey, hang on, how come Florida gets to go back and Texas and other

00:30:08.840 parts? Like, will there be a group of New Yorkers, maybe not the wealthiest who think this is one big

00:30:15.680 pajama party, maybe not people who are getting their salary in any event, but the working class who say,

00:30:22.040 I simply have to work. And if they can work in Miami and if they can work in Dallas, I can work in Manhattan.

00:30:31.200 Well, I do predict an exodus out of this city. I honestly do. And if Wall Street, you know, there was a time

00:30:39.480 where New York was the center of manufacturing, textiles, technology. I mean, it was diversified.

00:30:50.780 You know, there were a great many different sectors here. Well, today, the number one employer

00:30:55.220 in New York City is New York City, is the government. And of course, number two is Wall Street.

00:31:01.300 If Wall Street finds that they can WFH work from home and they don't have to come in and they don't

00:31:08.720 have to be in New York, this city is done. It's cooked like the Ramadan goose. It's over. 1.00

00:31:15.860 And I think that this is why they're jumping the shark. I think Cuomo, I think he's holding the

00:31:21.620 state hostage, hoping that Donald Trump will bail him out and bail out de Blasio,

00:31:29.440 not from coronavirus, not from the Wuhan virus, but from their years of mismanagement. Remember, 0.79

00:31:36.580 Cuomo banned fracking. Cuomo banned drilling. Cuomo banned gas. New York was a sanctuary city.

00:31:44.880 I mean, we're not in trouble because of coronavirus. We're in trouble because of years

00:31:51.000 of Democrat mismanagement. Now, you asked me, won't people get fed up? I think those people

00:31:56.660 are going to vote with their feet. I think those people are going to leave. But there's also the

00:32:02.200 sheeple who are reading the New York Times, who are NBC News. If you look at the headlines every day,

00:32:09.440 Ezra, it's fear, panic. There's an outbreak at the White House. One person

00:32:14.520 in Pence's office had the virus. And so now it's an outbreak at the White House. I mean,

00:32:20.140 it's constantly fear-mongering. They don't talk about the fact that in these tests that they've

00:32:25.240 been doing, they're finding that over 25 percent of the population has had it, has been asymptomatic.

00:32:31.740 The mortality rate is less than the seasonal flu. This is a flu. Look, back in the late 60s,

00:32:38.040 do you remember the Hong Kong flu in the late 60s? I mean, that wiped out 150,000 people.

00:32:43.600 Did anybody stop doing anything? My God, we had Woodstock and moon landing and everything else.

00:32:51.020 I mean, this is just a seizure. It's not about your safety, ladies and gentlemen.

00:32:55.020 This is about a seizure of power. This is about control and that you cannot leave the house.

00:33:01.500 You will get arrested. This idea about now you've got to wear masks. Oh, really? So we didn't need

00:33:07.700 lockdowns. Everybody could have worn masks. If masks worked, why did we need lockdowns? It's just

00:33:14.060 insane. The idea that you're going to keep children home this summer from camp. First of all,

00:33:19.400 they need to be outside. They need to build their immunity systems. That's how children fight

00:33:25.380 sickness. And adults, too. Being in the house for months is not an answer. You have to ask yourself,

00:33:33.260 what is the end game here? The end game is the election. Just so that the end game, there was

00:33:39.320 no way that President Trump was not going to win. I mean, we had an unprecedented economy.

00:33:46.880 Unprecedented unemployment numbers. This is, they feel that this is the left and this is what they

00:33:53.820 do, but they always, always jump the shark. They think that if they can keep this, this, this,

00:34:00.200 this destruction going, I mean, it was an interesting Facebook post by a person who works on in the

00:34:04.900 beltway on Capitol Hill saying that every morning the Democrats, you know, they go into their offices

00:34:09.360 and they're like, ah, the unemployment numbers. Look, look at that. I mean, this is sick. This is misery.

00:34:15.160 No one's talking about the despair. No one's talking about the suicide rate. No one's about

00:34:19.580 the depression, the clinical depression, the mental illness. I mean, there's no hope. There's

00:34:24.280 no future. And there's no date. There's no end date. This started out in New York City as two weeks

00:34:31.760 because the healthcare system is going to be overwhelmed. And we can't have that. And we

00:34:37.020 can't have people piling up at the hospital. We've got to flatten the curve. We've got to flatten the

00:34:40.260 curve. What happened to that argument? We have, we, by the way, we flattened the curve here

00:34:44.220 over a month ago. Yeah. What happened? Now it's, now it's about what? Now we got, you know,

00:34:50.140 what did he say? What did Cuomo say? We got the beast on the run. That's what, you know,

00:34:54.780 now it's every day they get up there and they have their shiny shoes. Their shoes are shined. He's got

00:34:59.840 a nice, close shave. He's getting all of these offers from women, Cuomo. And, and he said, yes,

00:35:05.860 ladies, I'm single. I mean, you can't make this up. Yeah. And meanwhile, everybody's out of work.

00:35:12.220 Yeah. And so it's really scary to me. It really is. And honestly, I hope that in the courtroom,

00:35:17.840 it's not a question of, well, you know, it's a national security issue or it's a safety issue.

00:35:23.060 I, I feel that the city has to prove that, Ezra. If you look at the mortality rates,

00:35:28.640 the hospitals are empty. The hospitals are empty and they can't pay their bills. And by the way,

00:35:34.820 you can't, if you're sick, you can't even have a visitor in the hospital.

00:35:37.900 If a woman is going to give birth and she's in the hot, she, her husband can't come and see her.

00:35:44.120 It's terrible. And no one's talking about it because the media is so in the tank. They are,

00:35:49.620 they are, they are 100% behind this, this panic. And that's what it is. It's panic. It's fear

00:35:57.900 mongering. People need to look at the data. People need to look at the science and they're not. And this

00:36:05.380 is why I think you see, you see on the Twitter land, you see in a Facebook, you see on Instagram,

00:36:11.160 you know, keep the lockdown, keep the lockdown, keep the lockdown. They just, it's been drummed

00:36:15.960 into their head that there's some kind of, you know, deadly plague around the corner. Now I do

00:36:21.440 not fault president Trump in the beginning. I do not fault president Trump at the beginning because

00:36:27.920 you see, it's a weird flu and it could have gone sideways and we didn't know. Well, you know what?

00:36:34.820 We're over two months wiser now. We have a ton of data and we know, and we have to get back to work.

00:36:40.200 Look at Georgia, Ezra. Georgia lifted the lockdown April 24th. And you know what? It's,

00:36:47.060 they're at their lowest COVID hospitalizations yet. Do you, have you seen that anywhere in the

00:36:52.440 American media? No. It's incredible that the difference in media coverage, Andrew Cuomo,

00:36:58.440 the lion's share of the deaths in the country, he's treated as a hero by the media. States like

00:37:04.780 Georgia, Florida, or one of my favorites, South Dakota, which never really went into a lockdown

00:37:11.120 in the first place, were demonized by the media, but they've had a sliver of a fraction

00:37:16.260 of the cases of New York. Well, let me ask you one last thing. You and I have been talking mainly

00:37:21.540 about the lockdown itself, the house arrest itself and how it doesn't make sense. But let's get back

00:37:27.800 to your lawsuit for a moment, because if I'm not mistaken, you're not particularly suing to end

00:37:34.180 the lockdown, but to end the ban on protest. Am I right on that? It's a, it's a, it's a suit to end

00:37:40.480 the prohibition of citizens gathering to protest the government. Absolutely. I mean, it is elemental

00:37:47.260 and Mayor de Blasio's latest effort. And this is not the first time, remember, my ads, my political

00:37:54.300 ads that I used to run were banned under Mayor de Blasio. I mean, that was the first time, think of

00:38:01.780 it, Ezra, the first time in 100 years, in the 100 year history of the New York City transit system,

00:38:09.360 that political advertising, issue advertising were banned. So he is a first, he's an enemy of the

00:38:14.520 First Amendment. This is not new, but this is his latest effort to suspend the First Amendment

00:38:19.900 in the city of New York. It is the most egregious one that we have seen. And it's unfathomable that

00:38:27.540 his thirst for power, you know, would go this far. Well, it's incredible. I'm very excited that you're

00:38:34.860 taking action. I mean, of course, we enjoy your commentary, but actually filing a lawsuit is very

00:38:39.860 important. What's the next step in this? Does the government have to file a reply within a deadline?

00:38:47.240 How do these things normally go? They try and probably get it dismissed, thrown out of court

00:38:51.940 early, I'm imagining. How does it work? Yes, exactly. They'll always, you know, they'll go for

00:38:57.360 standing. You know, does she have standing? Being that I have had, I've engaged with the city of New York

00:39:03.860 on this very issue, the First Amendment, how many times? And one, how many times? I cannot begin to

00:39:10.760 tell you that if anyone has standing, I have standing. So that's not going to, they will not

00:39:18.240 impede my progress with the suit. They will have to answer it. And I can assure you that when we win,

00:39:24.120 and we will, we will have a freedom of speech. We'll have a First Amendment march. I mean, you have to

00:39:32.200 wake people up because, let's be frank, Ezra, the media is, you know, disinforming, misinforming. People

00:39:42.560 are not taught to think critically. They don't even know, they don't even understand what's being

00:39:50.580 taken from them. You know, think of it, centuries of blood and toil for these intellectual rights

00:39:57.140 that, frankly, were seized without due process. That's a different problem. They were seized without

00:40:04.860 process. So what's the process of getting them back? They were just taken. There was no, you know,

00:40:11.460 declaration of any sort or, you know, I understand this invisible enemy. I understand that. But it's

00:40:17.300 proven to be handleable. We can handle Corona. But to take away the First Amendment, our Bill of

00:40:23.520 Rights, freedom of speech, freedom of assembly, this is, this is just, it's a coup. It's unbelievable.

00:40:31.620 Well, you're a great American, Pamela. It's a pleasure to talk with you. We wish you good luck

00:40:35.740 to our viewers. I recommend TheGellerReport.com. Stay strong, my friend. You're fighting, as you say,

00:40:42.860 as a one-woman army, and I think you're going to win. Take care.

00:40:47.740 Thank you so much for having me, Ezra.

00:40:49.700 Our pleasure. There you have it, Pamela Geller. You can find a copy of her lawsuit at TheGellerReport.com. 0.85

00:40:57.000 Stay with us. More ahead on The Rebel.

00:41:06.460 Hey, welcome back on my monologue yesterday about a peaceful protester being arrested in front of

00:41:10.700 Alberta's legislature. Ken writes, hopefully, if we ever get out of this lockdown, some of these so-called

00:41:15.540 police officers who are breaking the law will be held accountable. Yeah, I wouldn't bet on it. I

00:41:21.220 wouldn't bet on it unless there's some sort of a lawsuit. On my interview with Dr. Leslie Lewis about

00:41:26.520 her campaign to be the leader of the Conservative Party, Colin writes, I love it when someone listens

00:41:30.620 to the question without interrupting. A very refined, highly educated lady, you can ditch McKay anytime you 1.00

00:41:36.540 like. I like Dr. Lewis. I'm glad she's come on the show twice. And I'm glad she said a kind word

00:41:42.380 about freedom of speech and Rebel News. We have put out invitations to both Peter McKay and Aaron

00:41:48.380 O'Toole. And they're welcome to come on. And look, I'll ask them frank questions, honest questions.

00:41:55.360 I don't think they'll be surprise questions. I'll ask them a bit about the campaign. I'll ask them

00:42:00.300 probably about the pandemic in China. I might ask them about free speech. You know, common themes that

00:42:08.140 we care about at Rebel News, but I think Conservative members care about. I don't think I would engage in

00:42:12.380 any gotcha questions. That's not that interesting. I think I would try and talk about substantive

00:42:18.180 things. And I would be grateful that they came on the show. I don't know. I think they should come on

00:42:22.060 because we're a vast swath of the Conservative Party's base. And I mean, let's just get right down

00:42:28.700 to it. If you can't handle a 10-minute interview from Rebel News and Ezra Levant, maybe you're not

00:42:36.380 ready for Justin Trudeau's liberal war room and the CBC. I mean, it's going to get tough out there

00:42:43.640 for whoever wins. You're going to be up against the entire media party, all the other political

00:42:49.540 parties. You've got to be tough. It's a tough job. Peter writes,

00:42:55.660 My goodness, why haven't I heard of this woman before? Very intelligent, very impressive. 1.00

00:42:59.420 I've not been too thrilled with my choices with the Conservative Party leadership. Dr. Lewis gives

00:43:03.220 me hope. Well, she's a very nice lady, and I enjoyed my two meetings with her. And I think she's

00:43:12.420 doing well in fundraising. If I had to predict, I would predict that the eventual winner is going to

00:43:19.700 be O'Toole or McKay. But my personal view is that I hope that Dr. Lewis stays involved in the party

00:43:26.480 and at the very least runs as an MP, even if she doesn't make the Conservative Party leadership. 0.80

00:43:33.140 I'll be candid. To go from not even an elected backbencher to party leader is probably too big

00:43:39.180 of a jump for someone's first tryout anyways. Maybe if she'd be, I mean, I wish her all the best,

00:44:06.840 TechWorks and you at home, good night and keep fighting for freedom.
