Rebel News Podcast - Miss Understood No. 19： The Hollywood Edition

00:00:00.000 hello and welcome to misunderstood the show for the

00:00:24.720 we are your hosts i'm not yeah today we're gonna be talking about

00:00:36.060 okay i'm done with that today we're gonna be talking about the fall of hollywood

00:00:43.240 why are all the characters gay and what the heck is going on with the actors 0.99

00:00:49.520 but first our patented culture shock moment of the week take it away net yeah so everyone in 0.97

00:00:56.460 hollywood might be gay and trans um but now leah thomas is having a bit of an ish 1.00

00:01:02.260 fina bans transgender swimmers including leah thomas from women's events now i guess that 0.92

00:01:07.780 olympic dream is quite far away there leah yeah wouldn't it be funny if if fina banned transgender 0.91

00:01:14.420 swimmers but not leah thomas like she she can come though yeah that would be interesting 0.89

00:01:19.220 although um i think this is a huge win for women um as and basically i guess they is uh

00:01:26.780 the new policy for eligibility is that uh you have to have not experienced puberty past 12

00:01:33.820 yeah which obviously if you look take a nice look at leah thomas gorgeous gal that she is uh 1.00

00:01:40.340 you can tell that puberty puberty has happened for that one so yes just based on the wingspan

00:01:47.620 just the wingspan alone but you know this is a good step forward but now let's get those

00:01:52.140 biological males out of prison huh women's prisons let's do it that might be next and i feel like this 0.92

00:01:57.280 is a good step in the right direction and honestly like i don't want leah or william or however this

00:02:02.960 individual wants to be called i don't want their olympic dream to die but you gotta swim in your

00:02:07.640 category yeah category is not the women's category no and i think they're thinking about creating an open

00:02:12.760 category for transgender athletes and you know what women who want to swim in that category for the 0.99

00:02:17.500 extra competition like like me i'm gonna go exactly imagine you went and you swam against leah and you

00:02:22.480 won i probably will look at me i actually looked up i'm huge i actually looked up the um 500 freestyle

00:02:30.280 uh u w what is it the the one that she won it was the u yeah c double a yeah um she doesn't hold 0.97

00:02:38.440 the record i did not know that it's actually a female who owns uh the record so that's kind of 0.95

00:02:44.600 interesting so maybe there's room for a free open category and maybe women biological women will win 1.00

00:02:50.900 and you know probably not but maybe probably not yeah um you know i wonder if because leah was so far

00:02:58.300 ahead of the other contestants i wonder if maybe she slowed down a little bit just yeah i think

00:03:02.020 people were there were some there was some speculation about that we'll never know only

00:03:07.560 god knows but uh yeah let's get those bio males out of women's prisons that's next that's the next 1.00

00:03:13.180 step okay free and open prison great wonderful wonderful so holly hollywood holly weird holly everyone's 0.57

00:03:21.460 gay yeah um well our first article that we want to touch on who was this written by

00:03:27.240 oh my gosh it was written by me oh my gosh this is called buzz light queer middle east bands movie

00:03:35.160 light year over same-sex kiss so um this is funny because okay so here's a quote from the article that

00:03:43.720 you wrote so you know i'm not telling you there's a spelling mistake no i love that no just kidding

00:03:47.820 i have a great editor so the lgbtq employees and allies claimed that disney executives actively

00:03:54.580 censored overtly gay affection in its feature films and i'm like they didn't censor gay affection they

00:04:00.820 chose to they included it and then they bowed to cultures who opposed that and took it out yeah how

00:04:08.000 do these allies not see that for what it is like they literally included it in the movie and then

00:04:13.400 removed it to not offend people whose like ideology we don't agree with whatsoever yeah and

00:04:19.540 throw gays off of buildings it's so funny too because like all these corporations right now 1.00

00:04:23.460 have their rainbow logos for pride except for their middle eastern companies like their middle eastern 0.98

00:04:29.800 sectors or whatever and it's just like because being gay is a crime in the middle east that's the thing 0.99

00:04:34.720 and it's like dude these corporations though they don't care about lgbtq abcdefg activism they don't

00:04:41.760 care they're pandering to you like they're just pandering and it's just it's annoying like

00:04:46.440 i wish corporations if they didn't align with pride or they didn't care about pride just leave

00:04:50.960 it alone like you don't need a rainbow in your logo to be a nice and accepting human being like i'm

00:04:55.800 sure gay people can still bank at bmo like i'm pretty sure it would feel unsafe right they would 1.00

00:05:01.360 feel unsafe i actually saw an article it's not on our list here but it was like how the mortgage

00:05:06.500 crisis is hitting lgbtq people harder i didn't read it okay because i'm busy but i'm i think i kind of

00:05:15.480 want to because i'm like like how i'm sure there's why i'm sure they're grasping at straws uh just

00:05:21.440 given it's 2022 and it's hitting them harder than it's hitting like families with multiple children

00:05:26.280 yeah who have more mouths to feed yeah i just can't see it i don't see it i can't see that either

00:05:30.460 and then of course chris evans who is playing buzz like queer in the new movie is very frustrated by 0.83

00:05:39.020 those who don't are maybe critical of the same sex kiss in a film and i'm i'm a critic of it because

00:05:45.720 i don't think that there should be kissing really in any kids show but there are though yeah well i

00:05:51.040 don't i don't think it's fair and yeah the thing is though mostly is that most people are straight

00:05:56.160 and kids don't need to be exposed to anything that might confuse them or something that maybe

00:06:01.560 they religiously are uncomfortable with like whatever it is like that's for a parent to decide

00:06:05.560 what they want their kids to be exposed to and to learn and like i just don't think it should be

00:06:09.160 we should push anything sexual about gender or sexuality on children like ever yeah but like to 0.57

00:06:15.760 push back a little bit like in my favorite disney movie a 16 year old girl named ariel who's a mermaid 0.99

00:06:22.200 marries a human and it doesn't matter that she's a fish that's hardly relevant because she gets her 1.00

00:06:27.380 legs but she's 16 yeah and she marries and they kiss and she's wearing a little bikini top like it's 1.00

00:06:33.080 i never found that to be sexual as a child so yeah but also a different era of history but yeah

00:06:38.820 include kissing yeah i think shows but i hear what you're saying i think though the thing is like

00:06:43.300 being straight is not a sexuality because like that's the way you work like that's the way god

00:06:47.420 intended men and women i think that's the difference like and it's we talk about the slippery slope all

00:06:52.200 the time like i have no issue with people being gay that's what you do in the bedroom is your 0.98

00:06:56.120 business like i really don't care but like i just don't think any child needs to be exposed to that

00:07:01.240 sort of stuff yeah and and we could argue like maybe they should just not have like sexual

00:07:05.260 relationships of any kind i agree movies and i would be fine with that like like toy story it's

00:07:10.980 about toys exactly and like frozen there's no i don't think there's any maybe i'm wrong but i don't

00:07:15.200 believe there's any kisses in that movie i don't think so it's like about sisters and that's what i

00:07:19.140 i'm not sure that's some criticism but i love frozen because i have a sister and i'm like her her true

00:07:24.240 love is her sister it's so sweet yeah um it's cute but i do see what you're saying because

00:07:28.500 it's not quite the same as just a heterosexual kiss because the the that executive producer at

00:07:34.400 disney a couple months ago openly said that disney has a not so secret gay agenda right it's like

00:07:39.780 disney your agenda should be to educate and entertain children yeah not even educate like

00:07:45.140 just entertain let's say yeah like just come on like stay in your lane y'all stay in your lane like

00:07:49.960 let's let parents talk to their kids about kisses yeah you know and i would i would urge any parent who

00:07:55.740 doesn't want their kid to see a gay kiss or a straight kiss just don't let them don't plop them 1.00

00:08:00.140 and down in front of a movie if you don't know what's in the movie yeah watch the movie before

00:08:03.540 your kids watch it i think or at least read up on it read up on the criticism it's a good point yeah

00:08:08.020 and they're not that long and i love disney movies i love pixar movies so you know sit down watch it

00:08:13.080 before you let your kid be exposed to it yeah no i agree good advice from someone who does not have

00:08:17.920 children no no but you know we have brains yeah so ideally so so chris evans is one is one star who's

00:08:28.200 taking it into his own hands to because he's not an ally even though he's a straight white cis man he

00:08:34.040 can be an ally just by being frustrated about that um annette another one is tom hiddleston who plays

00:08:39.700 loki in the what is it the avengers yeah i don't know i've never seen them in the one with the hammer

00:08:46.220 thor right sure avengers um so i looked into this a little bit um because apparently i mean loki is

00:08:53.520 from nordic nordic uh lore yeah so in that loki is actually like pretty he's actually i don't think i

00:09:02.300 saw anything about him being bi but he can take the form of females too and he's like yeah like to

00:09:06.000 another god so it's like in that sense i kind of get it because it's not like they're tacking this on

00:09:12.380 later which we'll talk about too because people do that they're like oh yeah my character was totally

00:09:15.920 gay it's like was it like you're not the writer but in this case it's like it's actually ancient 0.82

00:09:19.720 lore where the the loki is actually like gender fluid no i understand that but again like what

00:09:24.960 does that have to do with the character necessarily like it was never really a part of the character

00:09:29.540 before like no not like tom hiddleston's been playing loki for a while like it never came out

00:09:34.520 except for now like yeah no it's because it's popular now yeah like they if they wanted to be true to

00:09:39.760 the um story at the time they would have included it but it obviously like they go where the money is

00:09:45.760 so now the money is is with that and they're like into it and it's like okay you guys like you don't

00:09:51.460 care about the story you don't care about loki you just it's rainbow season you want clout yeah and

00:09:56.540 it's and it's popular and that's where the money is that do i have again marvel movies although they

00:10:01.560 are kind of like they're based around superheroes they are for adults like yeah so they're very

00:10:07.620 violent they have like butts in them and stuff so like do i have a problem with a bisexual character 1.00

00:10:12.200 no it's just like we see what you're doing you're going with yeah it's like you don't really care 0.65

00:10:15.800 and the thing is it's it's on disney plus though which is technically for kids like they're trying

00:10:20.320 to like market it towards kids which i don't know and then one of the things he says because he does

00:10:25.220 an interview for variety and he explained that he felt it was really important to address his

00:10:31.040 character's bisexuality and gender fluidity it's like important for who like important for who

00:10:35.780 because like honestly when it comes to a character's sexuality i really don't care i just want to

00:10:40.840 i just want to be entertained like unless it's like milk yeah like philadelphia or the one with

00:10:48.240 the guy well dallas buyers club even like you know those kinds of movies where it's like a

00:10:52.860 orientation game like that literally is about exactly like alan turing right right it's important

00:10:57.940 to the plot it's important to the plot right and i'm all for that i like those movies pengu is bi

00:11:02.320 it's like that's not important to the plot pengu wants to eat fish yeah like that's not they're

00:11:06.500 gonna do it they'll do it i put it out in the universe i'm so sorry yeah i'm sorry um and i

00:11:10.360 sorry go ahead well i was just gonna say like it's these actors always act as though like there's

00:11:14.020 been no gay representation in films and there absolutely have been off a bunch exactly right 1.00

00:11:18.180 off the top it's like it's not like there's an issue where like we're completely trying to like

00:11:22.280 smush any gay identity or gay people in our history like they're important people like i absolutely i 1.00

00:11:27.900 want to hear their stories absolutely yeah i think it should be represented representative of the

00:11:32.940 population yeah and right now it's kind of hard to calculate what percentage of people are

00:11:37.380 queer because i actually saw a stat recently that was like one out of four people identify as queer

00:11:41.840 it's like that's not that is way more it used to be like one to two percent of the population now

00:11:46.800 it's like you're saying 25 of people are a lot of people but you know i was saying this to you

00:11:51.020 earlier when we were like just walking um people will just like young women especially like 0.92

00:11:57.360 they'll just say oh i'm i'm i'm bi yeah i'm bisexual even though they've literally only ever

00:12:02.960 dated men maybe they kissed a girl one time and they're like i'm bi and they make this whole scene

00:12:07.220 about it and everyone's like you're so brave it's like okay it's probably like piggybacking

00:12:12.300 onto like our conversations we've had about like kids young girls who transition because they want

00:12:16.480 clout because they're like they're middle class that flag yeah you don't want to be a cis heteronormative 0.54

00:12:22.340 monster they don't have any of the brownie points so to speak right with their peers and i would

00:12:27.040 know because i am non-binary she is for those of you who are new uh she came out yeah cat here 0.77

00:12:33.880 came out as non-binary a while ago because you know what i wanted the clout and a lot's changed

00:12:38.520 since she came out so much other people have to change the way they speak about me yeah but i don't

00:12:43.520 have to change anything so it's pretty great it's been great for all of us it's been a lot of learning

00:12:47.860 i just want to touch on one more thing that i noticed is happening in hollywood so um and we're

00:12:52.880 gonna get do we have that thing about uh tom hanks yeah we'll talk about that a little bit later but

00:12:57.600 there are actors who are saying own and people too only gay actors should play gay roles so there's

00:13:04.580 that and then there's also all these hollywood people coming out and saying like retroactively

00:13:09.000 that oh yeah i'm cis straight or whatever but my character is gay so it's like you can only play a gay 1.00

00:13:16.260 role if you say it after the time it was already filmed right like you can't it's just so stupid 0.99

00:13:21.000 both are so annoying like you're actors it's like these people haven't been in the news cycle 0.98

00:13:25.600 enough and they're like i need a way back well yeah that's when demi lovato was upset at that

00:13:30.160 that the fro-yo shop yeah for having like sugar-free cookies or something it's like i'm fat and i want

00:13:34.700 sugar how dare you like people some people can't eat sugar demi yeah demi it's not all about you but

00:13:40.820 she knows that yeah she knows that she just wanted to be in the news cycle yeah absolutely don't we

00:13:44.820 all we're trying so hard we're trying so hard that's why i'm non-binary yeah it's not working out for us

00:13:49.100 but uh i'm gonna have to push you in front of a train or something but it seems to be working

00:13:52.440 for game of thrones star maizey williams this is a great example who always thought aria stark

00:13:57.120 was queer first of all i would just like to say anytime you ask someone to define what queer is

00:14:01.220 nobody knows that's hilarious nobody knows how to define it so if you can define it please send us

00:14:06.160 a message on social media but it's like you always knew like you always knew your character

00:14:11.100 was queer like four i don't know yeah no because i'm pretty sure um sansa her character like she was 0.99

00:14:17.680 like 16 no younger when they started filming super young she was like at least 11 or 10 or so yeah

00:14:24.200 i think so um aria was even younger and so her character was like nine on the show always was

00:14:31.440 queer though was always always queer it's very obvious i mean maybe maybe queer people are like

00:14:36.160 i knew when i was nine fair enough sure that i don't know i don't know but also like maizey williams

00:14:40.600 didn't freaking write game of thrones um one of these quotes is like um one of the most popular

00:14:45.760 characters on the show aria was celebrated for her strong independent and gutsy persona it's like

00:14:49.720 oh so a straight woman can't be strong and gutsy like i'm so it's we have gone back in time where

00:14:56.520 if you're not a girl who wants to wear frilly dress i mean like look at me talk but if like i was a

00:15:01.200 tomboy you too right when you were a kid like i played in the mud i wore ripped jeans and played

00:15:06.760 brothers exactly yeah me and my brother there was this mud pit i'm sure i've talked about it before

00:15:10.720 it was a it was a highlight of my childhood and i people i had short hair and people would confuse

00:15:15.980 me for a boy and now look at me i'm a gorgeous female so it's just like you're allowed to go

00:15:21.320 through a tomboy phase you're allowed to stay in your tomboy phase you're allowed to be a lesbian 1.00

00:15:25.020 you're allowed to be a butch chick who doesn't necessarily mean you're queer or like you can just 0.99

00:15:30.880 be a butch sorry lesbian but you can be straight and and strong yeah and gutsy and have short hair 1.00

00:15:38.280 and do whatever you want doesn't like i'm so sick of people saying like oh she doesn't wear i want 0.98

00:15:42.140 to want to wear a frilly dress so she's queer well and it's kind of dangerous because like if you 1.00

00:15:46.540 conflate being a tomboy with sexuality and gender identity like that's going to confuse young girls 1.00

00:15:52.380 who are just you know maybe going through an awkward phase or maybe just like more masculine

00:15:56.380 things yeah there's nothing wrong with that like like and it's funny one of the quotes is

00:16:00.300 throughout the through nearly the entire game of thrones run fans believed ari might be queer

00:16:05.180 or gender fluid thanks to the way the typical gender roles and whatever you kind of said this

00:16:10.040 literally had to pretend she was a boy to escape getting murdered yeah so that's what the quote

00:16:13.820 says this is including a two-season storyline which she disguises herself as a boy because of

00:16:17.840 her freaking identity because she didn't want to get her head chopped off but that's what that's 1.00

00:16:21.740 what i was gonna say like is mulan a lesbian too like is she questioning her gender or like what 0.99

00:16:26.720 about amanda binds and she's the man like i'm sorry like it's okay

00:16:30.240 like just because your character has to dress up in another gender is close to survive yeah like

00:16:34.800 for survival i'm sorry like if it wasn't part of the plot and aria literally just dressed like a 1.00

00:16:39.660 boy the whole time and wore chest binders and like that i could see her being like i think she's queer 0.98

00:16:43.980 yeah that's an but but aria stark literally had to avoid getting murdered by the lannisters yeah by

00:16:51.080 dressing up as a boy because they weren't looking for a boy they were looking for a girl there you go

00:16:54.060 like guys it's okay and if she was queer fine but like that didn't seem to be part of the plot and in

00:16:59.000 fact they make her have a sex scene with which is kind of weird because she's super young but in 1.00

00:17:03.300 the last season she has a sex scene with a man and and maizey williams talks about that and she's 0.68

00:17:08.500 like i was shocked by it i thought it was a joke but it's like yeah even t-pain even t-pain t-pain

00:17:13.100 says it's it's if the chemistry is off it must be true but no it's just crazy and like i just think

00:17:20.400 like this is weird attack to just completely erase women and like straight women and just different 1.00

00:17:25.740 types of women yeah like just let no one's a monolith like let's just celebrate individuality 1.00

00:17:30.520 we talk about that on the show like every second of every day like yeah you can be like no one is

00:17:36.400 you that's fine yeah you don't have to be like gay or trans or you could be gay and want to wear

00:17:43.940 lipstick and dresses that's the thing though we live in a i thought we lived in a culture where we're like

00:17:47.940 non-binary should mean like i don't fit into this binary role but like we've taken that now and it's

00:17:55.080 like no if i'm non-binary that means i have short hair and it's blue and i hate society and i want 0.55

00:18:00.420 to destroy all like classifications of of woman and man it's like no no we can be non-binary in

00:18:07.640 now i'm talking about being non-binary again yeah she is but it's like you can be a girl and have

00:18:12.620 short hair and play sports or you can you can do whatever you want and be who you are and you don't

00:18:16.180 need to like change like it's so like you said it's so dangerous to make girls think oh i like soccer

00:18:20.980 therefore i'm a boy yeah i'm in it or i'm trans yeah you're not you're just you just are who you

00:18:26.640 are and you like what you like and and that's okay that's okay that's okay anyway so uh tom hanks

00:18:34.220 explains why he wouldn't take another gay role we're beyond that now he says so are you are you

00:18:39.380 beyond giving back your oscar just wondering so hanks played andrew beckett a lawyer who hides his

00:18:45.220 aids diagnosis and his homosexuality from his co-workers because he's afraid it could compromise

00:18:49.200 his career he wants to basically address like could a straight man do that role now no but i love

00:18:58.240 how he says that after he won an academy award that's the thing like you're gonna give back your

00:19:01.680 academy award hanks but it's like you're so sorry you don't think an actor is allowed to act

00:19:06.560 yeah an actor is not allowed to act tom just quit just quit i don't remember tom hanks getting

00:19:11.300 stranded on an island in real life yeah that role of castaway should have gone to someone who was

00:19:18.080 actually stranded on an island it's true because they are so marginalized yeah and stinky yeah he

00:19:24.000 he just thinks it's inauthentic for a straight man to play a gay actor you're an actor what are 0.73

00:19:30.480 what is the role of an actor not to act i don't understand it it's just crazy and i mean there's so

00:19:36.080 many like gay characters coming out in films now too so it's like i guess you're going to be out of a

00:19:40.160 job soon tom yeah because you can only play an aging out of date out of touch straight man yeah

00:19:47.260 like that's all you can play because and allegedly that's what you are

00:19:52.800 oopsies oopsies um i think it's it also reminds me of comedians do this a lot where like um

00:20:01.280 sarah silverman has done this trevor noah has done this where in the past they have made offensive jokes

00:20:06.600 and then now they're like yeah but you can't make those jokes now so it's like i'm gonna step

00:20:10.760 through the doorway i'm gonna make those people because that's why you're famous people like those

00:20:14.100 jokes i'm gonna step through the doorway and i'm gonna just close it behind me so that because

00:20:17.800 really you don't want new people why would you want the market your market to be saturated with

00:20:22.200 more talent of course you don't so you step through that door of fame you close it behind you

00:20:26.060 it's this is what tom he's gatekeeping fame he is yeah and and we're gonna talk about this later

00:20:30.680 but i personally think that jennifer aniston is doing the same freaking thing yeah but we'll talk about 0.99

00:20:34.780 that later um but before we get to that perhaps we should talk about two other celebrities who are

00:20:40.460 oh my god how many are there so many of them but you know in the season of pride yeah uh so kesha

00:20:46.300 says she's not gay or straight in a pride month post but then if only there was a word for that yeah

00:20:51.280 but then it's like what are you i don't know i mean it's bisexual they it's not she's acting she

00:20:55.640 invented a new identity though well she you know she's been out of the news cycle for a bit too so

00:21:00.320 maybe that's what it is but who's even who is she no i know who she is but like she's a singer

00:21:06.800 she has terrible music but like she wanted to take a second quote to tell everyone that you were not 0.77

00:21:12.580 only enough just as you are but the world is so effing lucky to have you she wrote i'm not gay i'm

00:21:18.440 not straight i don't know what i am how do those things correlate yeah like what's what do you mean

00:21:22.600 you're not what is you being enough of any like what does that have to do with your sexuality

00:21:25.620 also like why are you so confused kesha like yeah even if you're bisexual you know that you're like 0.71

00:21:31.880 in your 30s yeah like it's you've been around you've been around you're like boy okay girl yeah

00:21:37.260 like it's not rocket science yeah no it's really not and i don't know i don't see what's so confusing

00:21:43.880 about it no what is confusing though and this is a bit of a side note but if but if you're bisexual

00:21:48.640 is that admitting that there are only two genders yeah we catch a bigot bigot alert red flag you made

00:21:56.720 this comment the other day where it's like the whole non-binary category is actually admitting

00:22:01.180 that there is a binary that's like i'm non-binary i don't fit into female or male it's like okay but i

00:22:06.960 thought y'all were saying that it's all a spectrum it's a disaster it's a disaster it's an ideological

00:22:12.940 disaster yeah it's the world is on fire um and it's even more on fire i think because ian mckellen

00:22:19.880 who's 80 is going to be reprising the role of hamlet that's so weird so hamlet is what like 30

00:22:25.540 yeah ish like he's a young he's a young man and guess what guys i know ian mckellen is gay and also 0.66

00:22:31.500 he's unbelievably talented he's amazing and i love gandell amazing he's the best but um apparently hamlet

00:22:36.220 is bisexual and you know i i would just like to say i think maybe hamlet has addd you know i mean

00:22:43.100 he's not bisexual i think he's just a little confused because like a ghost is telling him to 0.66

00:22:47.360 kill his uncle yeah like i think he has bigger fish to fry and um so ian mckellen sir my my mistake 0.70

00:22:53.460 sir ian mckellen he quotes a line from hamlet um as the evidence that hamlet he's like you didn't know 0.98

00:23:00.420 and hamlet is clearly bisexual because of this line so it's rosencrantz to hamlet and he says

00:23:05.280 you did one you did love me once it's a bit of a stretch it's like i love most many things and

00:23:12.700 maybe in today's culture men don't say i love you bro like as much as they should there's that great

00:23:17.940 movie i love you man yeah i love them yeah it's good cute yeah but but so maybe men don't say i

00:23:23.000 love you as much as they used to but to say that this line is the evidence that hamlet was one line

00:23:28.300 in the whole play yeah exactly and like again do i care no no do i have hamlet posters all over my

00:23:34.440 room is it going to crush me personally no no it's just but sir ian you're all first of all you're

00:23:39.300 already in knighted yeah by the queen you're one of the most famous actors on the planet

00:23:43.520 and you're homosexual yourself so you don't need the clout you don't you just it's it's enough it's 0.88

00:23:48.860 guys it's i can't wait for june to be over yeah to be honest it'll be it'll be it'll be good 0.93

00:23:54.140 in that vein nat and i are going to the pride festival we're going to yeah so see you there um

00:23:59.480 anyway my advice to you ian is just put on those tights and give her yeah okay also maybe let a 1.00

00:24:05.080 younger person play the role can you play the uncle or something yeah shouldn't he the ghost

00:24:08.980 shouldn't he be the ghost yeah like he looks like a ghost i love you you got told sir ian 0.98

00:24:15.540 told anyway so everyone in hollywood is gay yeah or their character is gay yeah and you're not allowed 0.99

00:24:23.200 if you're an actor you were not allowed to play a straight actor you're not allowed to play a gay 1.00

00:24:26.680 character no you should just be gay it's probably for the best for your career yeah at this point 0.97

00:24:30.980 because gay characters can absolutely play straight character yeah right yeah yeah for sure oh for sure

00:24:35.580 hello all right hello okay so more hollywood talk yeah yeah talking about some nepotism oh yeah so

00:24:43.160 jennifer aniston trolled as nepotism baby for calling out stars famous for nothing yeah so i guess she spoke 1.00

00:24:49.820 to sebastian stan during an actors on actor interview for variety about fame in 2022 and she spoke on how

00:24:55.540 personalities like paris hilton and monica lewinski ascended to fame with the rise of internet

00:25:00.420 culture um she said they're famous for doing nothing and i'm like oh they did something yeah

00:25:05.680 not the best things but they did something yeah i don't know i i you're right like to add on to what

00:25:14.660 we were talking about earlier she is gatekeeping fame a little bit i think because she came from 0.94

00:25:19.380 actor parents like she's not like i think i i was reading a little bit more she did work hard to get to 1.00

00:25:25.140 where she is but it's like you had to be talented yeah like yeah you can get so maybe your parents

00:25:29.920 got you the call like they got you the audition yeah they got her in the door exactly but she's

00:25:35.180 hot and she's funny so yeah you know um but i have a list here of other actors who have famous

00:25:41.860 parents and this is not the full list this is just like a probably an endless list in 2022 oh yeah

00:25:46.080 it's super okay so you'll also notice trend so gwyneth paltrow drew barrymore jake and maggie

00:25:51.100 gillenhall george clooney lena dunham kristin stewart so basically the annoying ones yeah ones

00:25:56.400 that are always like telling everyone like you can't fly in a plane and like you have to be like 0.94

00:26:00.900 conscious of your like footprint like shut up shut up maggie shut up maggie i do like jake gillenhall 0.93

00:26:07.200 though i'm sorry yeah i mean no these are talented people some of them some of them some of them 0.85

00:26:11.820 yeah questionable questionable um i just think it's funny that like to be like jennifer aniston's 0.83

00:26:18.800 a nepotism baby it's like okay who isn't yeah no absolutely there's a couple people in hollywood

00:26:23.300 who literally made their way without having famous parents i can't name any because i didn't look that

00:26:27.360 up specifically i'm sure they exist richard mcadams uh she doesn't have famous parents really nope

00:26:33.500 wow good for you richard and she's canadian i was gonna say and brian cranston i don't believe he

00:26:38.700 has famous parents and he was he struggled a lot before he was famous yeah and uh the guy from new

00:26:44.620 girl and john ham john ham worked really hard to get to where he is yeah anyway we digress but the

00:26:52.180 point is so many of them are nepotism babies and that's kind of how things work in the world

00:26:56.000 and yeah it's in hollywood i would like to give her a little credit though because there are just too

00:27:00.580 many people trying to be famous and i don't think that it's fair that tiktok stars are getting cast

00:27:05.520 in movies i really don't because it's a craft like it's an art form and she i don't know like i i just

00:27:11.320 think that like some like imagine you're an actor which we both have been and you're competing for

00:27:15.820 this role and it's between you and like some tiktoker who like takes their clothes off yeah 0.98

00:27:20.840 they're only getting cast because of their large following that's always like yeah always been the

00:27:25.580 case but it just cheapens film because it proves that it's all about money and it's not about art

00:27:30.000 anymore but i i would argue it always has been like yeah so there's this next article from evie

00:27:35.000 on the same kind of no it's in defense of actresses why we need to stop giving influence influencers

00:27:39.600 acting roles and i disagree with the whole point of this article because so there's this quote in

00:27:44.860 the era of social media becoming instagram famous or trending on tiktok is the new celebrity status in

00:27:49.220 fact many young influencers are landing tv gigs due to their large followings and engagement

00:27:52.780 the question becomes is this fair to real trained actors so my point is is it fair that

00:27:59.460 jennifer aniston got auditions because of her famous parents is it fair that some girls like 1.00

00:28:04.480 you mentioned will get roles because they take their clothes off no but that's hollywood baby 0.99

00:28:08.400 that's yeah it is and it's not fair yeah no that's never been fair and like jennifer aniston she was

00:28:14.340 on tv in the golden age of the sitcom and she profited off of that but now that date age is over

00:28:21.220 yeah and now it's the age of tiktok so like she's just an old lady who's looking back and she's like 0.53

00:28:25.840 i don't understand these kids and it's like because you're not them like you profited off of

00:28:30.540 the age that you were in and you and you made it big and so stop gatekeeping fame like i don't like

00:28:35.840 influencers and i don't i won't watch them but i but i don't care i don't watch movies anyways because

00:28:39.720 the movies are garbage yeah which we'll get to in a minute no it's it's true um i just i don't know i

00:28:46.200 have a bit of a soft spot for actors who really do want to make it and like i just think it's kind of 0.76

00:28:51.820 gross how you can be famous for anything these days and maybe that's maybe that just

00:28:56.420 kind of encourages people to maybe hey let's pay less attention to these people or let's not listen

00:29:01.260 to these people as much because literally anyone can be famous for doing nothing which means they

00:29:05.140 have no right telling you or i how to live our lives yeah but it's our fault as consumers for making

00:29:10.380 them famous yeah like and like this show and and there's that old saying that's like give them what

00:29:15.700 they want to see give some people what they want to see if people want to see the d'amelios

00:29:19.680 on in a movie even if they're terrible people will watch it that's what hollywood is they never

00:29:24.800 care like to say that they care about artistic integrity we both know that's bf yeah because

00:29:29.380 they what about the harvey weinstein harvey weinstein thing yeah like any girl who shows

00:29:33.700 her butt to an old producer man was getting roles where this other like i've heard of stories way back 0.99

00:29:38.780 in the 60s of actresses who wouldn't sleep with the directors and then they were black fired exactly and 0.97

00:29:43.720 they were called all sorts of horrible names and they're like okay well i guess i'm just gonna like

00:29:46.620 live my life it's like this is not new no it's a good point hollywood is terrifying it isn't i think

00:29:51.480 it does prove that the golden age of the industry is long long gone if it ever even existed but i do

00:29:58.960 think we've seen a huge shift in the quality of content yeah especially uh as it pertains to the

00:30:04.760 rom-com yeah they are not good anymore i haven't watched a rom-com in years like a new one the thing is

00:30:10.660 i don't even think you could classify anything that comes out now as a rom-com in the same way because

00:30:15.500 i feel like maybe like crazy rich asians was yes i didn't see it but i was great i heard that's great

00:30:20.360 and i will i would like to watch you should watch that one um and there was all those katherine

00:30:23.980 heigl's back and yeah but those that was 27 dresses yeah no for sure but i anyway we there's this

00:30:29.220 other article from evie and it kind of poses the question why is it that newer movies that should 0.99

00:30:34.540 fit into the same category are falling short for us like we do keep re-watching i keep re-watching

00:30:39.180 the same old thing um and so they have a couple points here the movie we could go through so the

00:30:44.460 goal of movies was different back then which maybe that's up for debate because we kind of both agree

00:30:49.600 that hollywood's always been horrible and the goal has always been but i think the golden age woke

00:30:53.620 like yeah exactly a statement yeah they want they want to like preach at us yeah and that's why

00:30:59.320 movies are so politically correct and it's funny and what i find confusing and i don't know if you

00:31:03.320 agree is that like these these producers and these movies they keep making these woke films but like

00:31:08.760 they keep tanking yeah it's not what the people want so why are you playing this game like if it's

00:31:13.380 all about money like follow the money honey you know yeah yeah maybe you know how like the big

00:31:20.640 companies have like social credit scores yeah and they i don't know what the benefit of them is

00:31:25.760 but maybe that's worth more than making right a blockbuster like you know the whole concept of

00:31:32.440 the producers the musical like you can make more with a flop than i don't think that i have no idea

00:31:36.900 about like fine like entertainment finances yeah maybe there's something to that where it's like

00:31:40.560 as long as people are working it barely matters how much money you make i can't imagine that's true

00:31:45.420 i i'm just trying to pontificate about what it could possibly be no it's true i mean yeah it's just

00:31:51.440 interesting that movies do feel the need to comment on every social issue and whereas like i don't

00:31:57.100 know about you but like movies for me it's like escapism like i just want to relax i don't want to

00:32:01.220 think about work i don't want to think about politics i just want to watch hot people do crazy 0.77

00:32:05.460 extraordinary things yes and i want to live vicariously through them yeah you know and i

00:32:09.560 think it's funny because top gun i haven't seen it yet the new one i didn't see the original so but

00:32:13.560 i've heard that the new one is really really good and everyone's really hyped on it yeah and i also

00:32:17.480 saw an article that was like why top gun is like toxic masculinity and it's like okay well i guess people

00:32:21.900 like that like sorry they like america and they like jets and they like men like sorry yeah sorry i want 0.92

00:32:29.240 to see hot men yeah like kill me like sue me you know like whatever yeah no that's a good point 0.96

00:32:35.460 um yeah wow she's so smart i know and she's only 17 can you believe it yeah i think mostly i would

00:32:43.760 just love it if hollywood realized that like you can't appeal to everyone and maybe there should be 0.99

00:32:48.880 like a category that does cater to these idiots no offense who need everything to be like pandered to 0.99

00:32:56.040 them with their that can be its own social justice yeah like then we can have the rest yeah i'll take 0.99

00:33:00.660 the rest like i'll take ryan gosling yeah please yes okay yeah yeah succinct love it okay there's this

00:33:13.620 i know we've probably been talking about this too long but i want to talk about this jamie chung

00:33:18.100 yes surrogacy thing so there's this okay they call her an actress this is an article from evie magazine

00:33:23.460 the article titles actress jamie chung chose surrogacy over pregnancy because she didn't want

00:33:28.080 to lose opportunities in her acting career and in this first paragraph they're like she was she

00:33:33.180 launched into fame on um real world real world is that what it's called something like real world

00:33:40.160 san diego i don't even know what that is it's a reality show she is so she's a reality star who has 0.99

00:33:46.260 had a few acting roles is what they said okay she's also married to a guy who's an actor um so she's so

00:33:52.840 to call her an actress is a bit of a stretch yeah like it would be like saying like any of the girls

00:33:58.780 from the bachelor are actors like it's like okay yeah um but here's a quote uh chung knew she and

00:34:05.660 her husband wanted children but she was afraid of what might happen to her career if she took time

00:34:10.780 to get pregnant and give birth yeah a lot of successful actors jamie before you have actual actors

00:34:17.940 actual actors have had multiple children throughout their careers and they still got a few oscars on

00:34:22.900 their shelves yeah like and it's like you mentioned this it's like so you don't have time for the

00:34:27.960 pregnancy but you're gonna have time for the children once they're born and they're twins oh 0.91

00:34:33.760 yeah that's when so she now has two children to take care of but that's fine because you know she 1.00

00:34:38.660 already farmed out the first job what's to say she's not gonna do that with the actual raising of 1.00

00:34:43.300 the children i think this is a branch of toxic mommy culture so because it's such a toxic take

00:34:48.320 that parents think like having kids is going to ruin your life and ruin your career like it's a

00:34:53.020 blessing and a privilege and not everyone has that privilege and it's just so well it's very privileged

00:34:59.620 of you to be able to pay someone hundreds of thousands of dollars to carry your children like 0.72

00:35:04.360 it's just insane like like look in the mirror girl yeah like you're crazy so she said on the topic

00:35:10.080 um people are people probably think oh she's so vain she didn't want to get pregnant it's so much 1.00

00:35:14.160 more complicated than that for me personally and i will leave it at this it's like it's like i worked

00:35:19.880 my ass off my entire life to get where i am she continued i don't want to lose opportunities and i 0.86

00:35:24.800 don't want to be resentful wow girl you're already talking about being resentful towards your children 0.90

00:35:30.980 that you just basically bought from someone else like you resent and you worked your ass off to get on

00:35:37.680 the real world san diego like what are you talking about your parents must be so proud they're so proud

00:35:44.900 of you they're so proud of you it's just like um oh and also she claims to have struggled with

00:35:51.560 postpartum depression yeah twins were born that's rude that's soup that's a bad take yeah it's about

00:35:57.380 really bad take some women actually really suffer yeah um like i i can't imagine but like come on like 1.00

00:36:03.960 don't minimize other people's feelings because you're trying to make excuses yeah like you're

00:36:07.580 trying to justify to be like i'm a real mom i want to die um so i looked into postpartum depression a

00:36:13.940 little bit because i've heard a lot about it but i don't know a ton about it but um it's a bit of a

00:36:18.140 mystery but there are two main causes for it so the first one the obvious one is that there's a huge

00:36:24.220 um drop in hormones after you give birth and you can actually be chemically depressed right and some

00:36:29.500 women are chemically depressed for months and some enter into psychosis which is absolutely

00:36:33.600 terrifying the other one is maybe what she's talking about is that you would now have these

00:36:38.620 this dependent and it's a baby and it's a lot it's a lot of pressure overwhelming overwhelming and you

00:36:43.080 have a lack of sleep and yada yada but again like i would argue this is someone who's in hollywood who's

00:36:49.060 has help who has help exactly so it's like how and and you know she's not staying up all night with

00:36:54.280 her babies because she would be too tired for her audition the next morning and that's clearly the

00:36:58.600 most important thing like she said you can't even take a couple months off of your job because

00:37:01.520 people will forget you it's like first of all how forgettable are you second of all this is going

00:37:04.920 to be your life until the kids until you die you are our mother and yeah we were talking about this

00:37:09.260 before it's like if you if you want to work on your career that's fine you would already frozen

00:37:13.800 your eggs anyway like why not just delay having children like you didn't need to have them right 1.00

00:37:18.380 now if you were gonna if you were gonna have a surrogacy exactly like it just seems so silly and

00:37:22.900 honestly jamie like you just want you just want fame and we're giving you a little bit more of that

00:37:27.880 today by talking about you but like good lord these hollywood celebrities this isn't even a

00:37:32.340 hollywood celebrity but these people are just crazy no and and you can also argue she just doesn't want 1.00

00:37:37.100 to like give up her bod yeah like come on girl yeah sorry your children should be worth more to you 1.00

00:37:42.960 than your next like reality tv gig and if they're not like i feel really bad for your kids yeah you suck 0.99

00:37:48.980 jamie ah you suck um but on on a high note yeah let's end it on the high note let's end it on a high 0.96

00:37:55.140 note there is another article from evie uh 13 iconic celebrities who left hollywood to prioritize 0.98

00:38:00.360 motherhood yeah which is so nice it is nice these are huge names on here they're huge names name them

00:38:06.280 yeah so uh we have eva mendez we have cameron diaz we have shania twain julia roberts julia

00:38:13.280 julia freaking roberts sandra bullock like so many very more yeah like there's so many adele did that she

00:38:20.240 wasn't on the list but adele also did that for many years before she just recently came out with 1.00

00:38:24.080 another album these are not d-listers new these are like the most some of the most famous actors in

00:38:29.520 the world yeah and you know to be to play devil's advocate you could argue well these people are

00:38:33.140 already rich enough and stable enough in their careers that they didn't need to worry about uh

00:38:38.420 their career and they could take the time off sure that's an argument it's just like motherhood 1.00

00:38:42.580 is the most important job you're ever gonna do so yeah and to focus on that is such a such a

00:38:48.540 wonderful thing to do and i think that's what mothers are called to do right so like it's nice

00:38:53.260 to just see these hollywood people be moms yeah because that's what they they wanted to have kids 1.00

00:38:58.460 yeah like their kids didn't choose to be born so you gotta do you know brought them into the world

00:39:02.240 yeah you have the responsibility of taking care of them and giving them everything so like

00:39:05.560 sacrifices need to be made and a lot of i remember we talked about um what was the actress that was

00:39:12.200 pregnant during one season of the show that you were oh mindy project mindy kaling yeah and julia 0.99

00:39:17.280 julia louis dreyfus was pregnant i think once or twice during the filming of seinfeld courtney

00:39:22.320 cox was pregnant during the filming of friends yeah like you can work yeah people work when 0.92

00:39:27.180 they're pregnant especially if you're talented enough and like i think people will make it work 1.00

00:39:31.700 around you you know like i'm sorry i don't think jamie has that shot maybe that's why exactly but

00:39:36.700 she has like a rich husband who's in the mindy project yeah so it's like you could have you know

00:39:42.220 there were some options jamie had options and you also had your ex-president you could have done it

00:39:46.000 later anyway shame on you shame on you okay that was the sure that's the sure that's the sure
