Rebel News Podcast - Miss Understood No. 22 — Victoria's Secret Is Out

00:00:00.000 Hello and welcome to Misunderstood, the show for all you culturally and politically misunderstood

00:00:23.600 ladies or gents. We're your hosts. I'm Kat. And I'm Nat. And today we're going to be

00:00:28.400 talking about a couple of things ranging from Bette Midler. That girl's transphobic. Also, 1.00

00:00:34.300 Victoria's Secret. Have you heard? It's out. And then we're going to finalize the show with a bit

00:00:39.460 of health talk because you know us, we love a vegetable. But first, we're going to start things

00:00:44.200 off with our patented culture shock moment of the week. Take it away, Kat. This is a doozer.

00:00:49.580 Okay. Okay, guys. I'm sure you've heard. Shawn Mendes announced that he will be postponing the

00:00:54.320 next three weeks of his current tour due to being overwhelmed with touring again.

00:01:00.440 So Kat. Yes, Nat. Was he touring much during the global pandemic?

00:01:06.160 No, Nat. I believe he had over two years off. Right. Like the rest of the celebrities that

00:01:12.140 could still get rich. So I guess like, yeah, being rich and doing nothing is exhausting.

00:01:17.020 It sounds horrible. It sounds like so terrible. I feel like these three weeks are really gonna,

00:01:22.780 like, he wasn't okay. And now he's gonna be okay. He just needs three more weeks to slow the

00:01:28.020 mental health issues. If I was his agent, I'd be like,

00:01:34.680 like, go to work. I'd be like, go to work. Go to work. My family depends on you to work,

00:01:38.580 Shawn. And it's not only that. If you and I were having any sort of, you know, mental health issues,

00:01:44.000 we'd be shot. We would, I don't know about that, maybe. But we would have to come to work because 0.85

00:01:49.900 that's what adults do. And of course, there are circumstances in which maybe you just really

00:01:54.480 need a day. And I respect that. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. But you are letting your fans down and

00:01:59.340 you're a grown ass man. Go do your job. Yeah. It reminds me of, because in the, in his statement, 0.91

00:02:05.220 he mentions that he's been touring since he was 15. And I'm like, you know, who's been touring since

00:02:09.540 they were like 15, 16 years old and never takes time off? Taylor Swift. It's true. You know why?

00:02:14.440 Because she's not a Gen Z-er. Yeah, it's true. She's a millennial. And she knows, like, they'll

00:02:18.300 call us lazy, but it's like, we hustle. We hustle. There's something about Gen Z-ers that are like, 1.00

00:02:24.560 I can't even. And they're just like, they're anxiety. And one of my notes is that if D-Day happened

00:02:30.100 today, it wouldn't. Just wouldn't. They'd be like, I can't. Yeah. No, it's so true. And one of the

00:02:36.040 things you... Germans are scary. One of the things you said to me when we were kind of tweeting

00:02:42.080 about this, we chat off, off camera. Yeah. Occasionally. Like, you wouldn't be so overwhelmed

00:02:49.180 if you had God. Like, you really wouldn't be because the Bible says you cast your burdens

00:02:53.240 on the Lord. His yoke is easy, but his burden's light. Yoke. You know? So, uh, your life might

00:02:59.060 be a little better, Sean, if you just kind of surrendered how you were feeling to God because

00:03:02.740 you can do all things through him. Yeah. That's such a good point I made. Yeah. That's kind

00:03:08.080 of her point. And I was listening to Tim Dillon this morning. He talked about it, I think,

00:03:12.660 Thursday or whenever it happened. And he mentioned that, you know, he makes a lot of jokes, but

00:03:17.640 in there are always nuggets of truth. And his take was like, well, you're, I think he's

00:03:22.160 like 23 years old. His net worth is about $40 million. It's like, where do you go from

00:03:27.200 there? Like, life is all about striving. And you made this point, which was excellent, which

00:03:32.380 is like, sometimes we get down on ourselves or being like, well, I'm not in a place where I want

00:03:36.660 to be. Exactly. I'm not where I want to be yet, but it's like, okay, but then if I was

00:03:39.880 23 and a 40, had $40 million net worth, maybe I would be depressed because like, okay, well,

00:03:45.780 what now? Do I become a drug addict or do I fizzle out? Like, do we start a skincare line?

00:03:50.740 Yeah. Well, that's what you should be doing. That's what you should be doing, Sean. Yeah.

00:03:54.280 Okay. At least be productive. Yeah. Come on. All right. Let's move on. So, uh, guys,

00:03:59.580 the best way to fight for women's rights is to take your top off. Yeah. It works. 1.00

00:04:04.220 The bisexual model. Cara Delevingne goes topless and says, it's all of our jobs to fight for women's 1.00

00:04:11.820 and trans rights. I didn't know it was all of our jobs. Now hear me out. I think she just might

00:04:17.980 want to look at boobies. Ooh. I know. It's a hot take. Her own though? Yeah. She's a narcissist too. 1.00

00:04:24.520 Yes. Um, it's just funny because, um, near the end of this article, they make a note that she's

00:04:30.380 promoting a new show she's in. So I was like, okay, so a model takes her top off to promote 0.90

00:04:34.880 a show she's in. That's empowering. And they're like, it's empowering, you guys. It's so empowering,

00:04:38.700 yeah. This is certainly not to stay relevant because, you know, she is 29 years old. Oh,

00:04:42.340 she's getting old. So the modeling industry is going to discard her faster than a set of pasties 1.00

00:04:46.820 and it's pretty much over for her. It's over, Cara. It's over, Cara. So she's like, take your tops

00:04:51.120 off. Yeah. It's, it's funny too when these celebrities though, they care so much about human rights

00:04:55.760 when it's trendy, but where were you when unvaccinated people were being vilified? Where

00:05:00.400 were you? What about abortion? I mean, those are little humans too, as science has told us. So

00:05:04.380 it's just, it's funny that they pick and choose because as you said, they're just trying to stay

00:05:08.180 relevant and get a job, I guess the next onto the next job. Yeah. I don't know. And it's also like

00:05:14.980 you take your top off, do whatever you want, Cara, but don't say it's my job to take. It's literally

00:05:19.380 not. No, I'm busy that day. Yeah. Um, forever. So you do you, but like also stop telling

00:05:25.080 women how to fight for women's rights. Like we fight for women's rights every time. Look 0.98

00:05:30.120 at all the pink. Yeah. We're doing it all the time and we're keeping our tops on and

00:05:33.420 that's our choice. Yeah. Yep. And that's okay. Um, we are pro choice about taking off your

00:05:38.580 clothes. Yes. Sort of. Kind of. Yeah. Um, shall we move on to the next one here? Bette Midler

00:05:43.940 invokes trans argument to speak on abortion and women's rights. Yeah. So she took to Twitter. 0.67

00:05:50.840 Uh, I guess we should just read the, read the tweet. Let's just read the tweet. All right.

00:05:54.580 So women of the world, we are being stripped of our rights over our bodies, our lives, and 0.98

00:05:59.700 even our name. They don't call us women anymore. They call us birthing people or menstruators

00:06:04.820 and even people with vaginas. Don't let them erase you. Every human on earth owes you. That 1.00

00:06:10.360 last part kind of weakens it for me. Nobody owes you, but, but otherwise it's a good, it's

00:06:15.280 a good twirt. Yeah. It's a good twirt. And it's funny coming from Bette Midler, um, because

00:06:20.420 she is just so woke all the time and it, and it really highlights the point that we've

00:06:25.220 made and all, all sorts of people make, which is like, you can be in the, in the cool guy

00:06:30.820 zone, cool people zone, woke leftism until you say one thing that they don't like. And

00:06:36.020 now you're a turf and it's over for you and you have to apologize. And it's like, you are

00:06:40.540 never safe. They, the line keeps moving further and further left and it doesn't matter how outspoken

00:06:44.980 you are. And like all the issues you say one wrong thing and you're done. And that's what happened.

00:06:49.220 And it's funny because like, she's very passionate about the pro choice side and she was pretty

00:06:55.060 outspoken about Roe v. Wade and stuff. And that's kind of where this sort of stemmed from this tweet,

00:06:58.820 but it's funny because the same people who are on the pro choice or pro abortion side, some of them

00:07:04.580 are typically also pro trans rights. And it's like, can't you see, like, can't you see that you're,

00:07:09.460 you should connect those dots. Like, like this, these are the same people you're on their side.

00:07:14.180 Like maybe, maybe you should take a look at yourself there, bet.

00:07:16.900 No, they're not going to do that.

00:07:18.020 I bet she won't.

00:07:18.820 Oh! 0.60

00:07:19.540 Oh! 0.60

00:07:19.940 Hey, yo! 0.90

00:07:21.540 And this came on the heels of another famous woman, Macy Gray, who made a statement on Piers 0.97

00:07:29.380 Morgan's show, Uncensored, her statement. And it's, this is taken just a clip of like,

00:07:35.460 this is just a bit of the statement. So, I mean, we watched the clip on the live stream the other day,

00:07:39.380 maybe I'll post it in there. But basically she, she says before saying this is my point.

00:07:44.020 She says she believes that trans people have,

00:07:46.740 should have every right that anyone else does, and that she will refer to them however she wants

00:07:50.580 because she, she respects them. However, then she says, just because you go and change your parts,

00:07:55.540 that doesn't make you a woman. So people only ever concentrate on that line. Yeah. 0.92

00:08:00.340 And they're like, oh, she's a TERF. Yeah.

00:08:02.020 That's what you call, you know, a woman who is trying to stand up for women's rights is a TERF. 1.00

00:08:06.980 Um, which as we've mentioned, but maybe we should mention again, is a trans exclusionary 0.63

00:08:11.300 radical feminist, which is supposed to be an insult, means nothing anymore. 1.00

00:08:16.020 It doesn't mean anything. It just means you don't agree with them.

00:08:18.980 Yeah. So, so Macy Gray and Bette Midler, two like pretty famous women, both are kind of, uh,

00:08:26.420 standing up for women and then getting called terrible names that mean nothing.

00:08:31.780 They're getting threatened. Like they're getting threatened. And yeah, it's, it's just crazy that

00:08:35.460 so many people, uh, responded to this. Like it's like with such negativity, like they're like,

00:08:41.540 you can have a uterus and, I mean, not have a uterus and be a woman and all these kinds of things. 1.00

00:08:45.700 And it's like, birthing people is like a language we need to use. And it's like, 0.95

00:08:49.940 don't you people see that you are racing, erasing yourself? Like when, like, what's it going to take

00:08:54.660 for you to realize that they're after you ladies? Like they're, you are not going to, 0.66

00:08:58.660 you're going to be null and void soon. Like we don't need you. And just days after Macy Gray made

00:09:04.660 her statement because she, again, she has an album coming out. So she was promoting the album.

00:09:10.180 And so in an effort to redeem herself, she apologized. She basically walked the whole thing back.

00:09:17.940 Um, and the interview, I don't know what show it was, but the interviewer was

00:09:21.460 so annoying about it. She's like, so do you still believe that statements? Like that was five days ago.

00:09:24.900 I'm pretty sure she changed their state. Whatever. Yeah. But anyway, she doesn't,

00:09:28.420 she's changed her mind in five days. Um, and she, well, yeah, publicly. Yeah, of course.

00:09:32.660 But she said, uh, being a woman is a vibe. If you feel in your heart, that's what you are. Then 0.81

00:09:37.940 that's what you are, regardless of what anybody says. It's like, that's literally the opposite

00:09:41.300 of what you said five days ago. And she looked like she wanted to crap herself as she said it. 1.00

00:09:46.100 Like you could tell that she doesn't mean it. And the thing is, it won't be enough for them

00:09:50.260 because, because she's already done for. Well, exactly. And progressivism is a religion. Like

00:09:54.660 it's just, they have a strict set of laws and commandments that they must be abided by.

00:09:59.460 But guess what? They'll keep shifting the goalposts, as you already said. It's worse. Yeah. It's

00:10:04.020 worse because in, in a religion, you can re you can repent. Yeah. And you can absolve yourself of 0.99

00:10:09.220 your sins and try to change. Yeah. Yeah. But you can't do that. Yeah. There's no grace. There's no

00:10:13.060 grace. No grace. Yeah. And of course, you know, JK Rowling had to jump in and show her support for

00:10:17.540 Bette and Macy. Um, all she really did was retweet someone who said, uh, Bette Midler and Macy Gray

00:10:24.100 aren't receiving pushback because they said something hateful or inaccurate. They're being

00:10:28.660 demonized as heretics for rejecting the dogmas of a new religion. This is how blasphemy law works 0.92

00:10:33.780 in the digital era. That's all she did was retweet. And then people started hating on her. Well,

00:10:37.780 it's not started. They just continued. Yeah. But like, well, continued exactly. Yeah. It's just,

00:10:41.460 you know, again, like three strong women just saying basic stuff, supporting women, not an,

00:10:48.580 and, and scientific, scientific factually correct things and their TERFs and they're horrible.

00:10:54.420 And they deserve to be threatened apparently. Yeah. And, um, so there's one more article on this

00:11:00.820 topic, which is from the New York post. Um, Bette Midler responds to backlash over trans inclusive

00:11:05.220 language, erasing women. But I think, so the funniest part about this, and it's right in the 0.98

00:11:10.660 title here, it says over trans inclusive language, erasing women. So they admitted it. Well, yeah, 0.99

00:11:17.140 it's like they, um, okay, hold on. Okay. So they're saying in the article, it says Midler tweeted,

00:11:23.940 this is a quote from the article. Midler tweeted about the trans community and language to describe

00:11:29.140 them. Nope. Nope. She literally never, the word trans is nowhere in her statement. No,

00:11:34.500 we just read the statement. We just read the statement. It's literally just women. So this 1.00

00:11:37.940 is once again, an example of, of something that should be about women. And now it's about men

00:11:42.260 or trans people, whatever you want to call them. But, but they're not trying to erase us. No. So

00:11:46.180 literally when you say we're trying to erase trans people, it's like, nope, we're taught,

00:11:49.060 like we're talking about women saying it's okay to use the word woman, mother. These are okay words, 0.60

00:11:54.420 but they're like, it's, I wrote that it's, um, it's like saying, oh, where can I get a good beef

00:11:59.380 burger in Toronto? And then being like horrible woman makes anti vegan statement. 1.00

00:12:04.340 Like, no, I'm literally, no, I just want a burger. I just want a burger. I just want to be able to 0.88

00:12:09.140 say the word woman. It has nothing to do with you not saying trans. You, you use your trans inclusive

00:12:14.580 language. I'm not going to stop you. I'm not going to police your language. All we're saying is don't

00:12:18.980 police ours, but it's like, that's not okay. And Bette Midler should know that. Yeah. That it's not

00:12:22.900 okay. Cause she does it all the time. Yeah. She should know that it's not okay to, to just use your own

00:12:28.420 language and be comfortable with your own moral. It's not okay. You have to go with what the small minority of 1.00

00:12:33.860 people dictate. It's okay. And if you don't, you're a turf. It's mob rule. It's mob rule. But

00:12:38.100 hopefully the mob just continues doing what they're doing because these crazy progressives 0.99

00:12:42.580 like Bette Midler, they're going to eventually realize that y'all are crazy and they're going 0.99

00:12:46.820 to shift to become maybe a little more moderate, maybe a little more center, right? And we'll welcome

00:12:52.180 them. So keep doing what you're doing. We've mentioned this before. You keep canceling people.

00:12:55.940 We'll take them. Yeah. And we'll be gracious. We'll be gracious. Yeah. And you know what?

00:13:01.060 JK Rowling, I think she's, I think she's on the way out pretty soon. So maybe we should have a bet.

00:13:05.940 No, no gambling here. Not a Bette Midler though. But then of course, another old fart had to add 1.00

00:13:11.940 her, add her some more noise to the conversation. So Linda Carter, whoever the hell that is, 1.00

00:13:17.940 urges Wonder Woman like a billion years ago. Yeah. Yeah. Urges people to focus on the real

00:13:23.700 war on women and leave trans women alone. Sorry. Do you know who Leah Thomas is, Linda Carter? Do you 1.00

00:13:30.020 know who she is? I thought you were Wonder Woman. Yeah. So her tweet said, I cannot think of anything

00:13:35.320 that helps women's rights less than pinning the blame on trans women. Again, nope. They face so much 0.96

00:13:40.860 violence and scrutiny as is. Leave them alone and focus on the real war on women. It's happening in the 1.00

00:13:45.240 courts and legislatures around the country. So we know that she's referring to Roe v. Wade,

00:13:51.440 which you know what? If that's your battleground again, sure. Go fight it. That's all new. Like

00:13:57.120 that's okay. But it's like being, it's so one, one sided to think and single minded to think that

00:14:03.380 there's only one battle being fought here. And you have to be passionate about her battle. Yeah,

00:14:08.560 exactly. Like think about Germany during World War II. There was the West front and the East front.

00:14:12.540 Like it's not like they're like, forget about the communists. Like forget about the Reds. Just 0.61

00:14:16.600 focus on the Brits and the Americans. Like that would, they would have ended a lot faster for them

00:14:21.080 had they done that. Maybe it would have been good for us, really. But, but we're allowed to fight

00:14:25.760 battles on two fronts. And Linda Carter, you have your battle. You go and take your top off and stand

00:14:30.040 in front of the Supreme Court and yell and do whatever you want. That's okay. Even though like

00:14:33.860 you're getting a little old to do that, lady. Like maybe don't, but you do what you want to do.

00:14:38.480 It's just, it's just these models. Models need to stop participating in activism. I mean,

00:14:44.140 they are called models. Yeah. So just take your clothes off and get photographed. Like 1.00

00:14:49.120 that's all we really want from you. No one asked you to model like how we should live. You're

00:14:53.540 not a model citizen. Yeah, no. You just, you know, you, you wear the shirt or not. You weigh zero

00:14:58.460 pounds. But it's funny because she's like, I cannot think of anything that helps women's 1.00

00:15:01.580 rights less. It's like, I can. Yeah. Putting intact males in women's spaces like prisons. That's 1.00

00:15:06.180 the thing though. That hurts. Exactly. Like it's just, it's insane. Like that's, that's literal

00:15:10.940 violence. That's literal violence against women. And you don't care because what you want to seem 1.00

00:15:16.540 like you still got it, Linda. Yeah. It's just to say relevant. Like you mentioned. It's, it's

00:15:21.800 desperate. And I, I don't like it. Speaking of desperate. Yeah. Chelsea Handler. Yeah. Then women 1.00

00:15:27.380 take it too far. Yeah. We haven't talked about Chelsea Handler. I really dislike this woman. No, 1.00

00:15:31.980 there's nothing likable about her. There's nothing likable about her. Like I've, I used

00:15:35.920 to do standup comedy and when I was a female standup comic, I watched a lot of comedy, including

00:15:40.680 female. And I watched hers and I was like, this is awful. It was just so awful. She sucks. 1.00

00:15:47.800 She stinks. She's horrible. Um, and she, so the article is Chelsea Handler's late night takeover 1.00

00:15:53.640 and quote, white men's opinions are irrelevant. My first thought was what if they are a biological

00:15:59.460 white male, but they identify as a woman? Yeah. No, no. Yeah. That's so in her quote,

00:16:04.760 she says, there's really nobody that can experience what it's like to be a woman other than one

00:16:08.760 of us. Turf. Turf. Why is the mom coming after her? Is it because she did that like crazy? 1.00

00:16:14.720 Because then she follows up by saying white men's opinions are irrelevant. Right. So people, 0.96

00:16:19.540 they're like, they, they only post the second part on the article. No one reads it. No one

00:16:24.980 watches her show. No. She was just, she was filling in for whatever, whoever. But, um,

00:16:31.040 it's like, Oh my God, you're such a turf. How dare you say no one can experience what it's

00:16:35.900 like to be a woman other than a woman. You should be canceled immediately. Yeah. It's 1.00

00:16:39.120 actually based. It is. Yeah. It's pretty based, Chels. My last note is she is a dirt bag. 1.00

00:16:44.940 Okay. Yeah. That's fair. That's a personal opinion. Yeah. That's not a fact. No, it's allegedly 0.99

00:16:49.580 a dirt bag. No, I'm just kidding. But yeah, I do agree with her though. Like I do think that

00:16:54.160 there's, there should be more space for women in media, specifically talk shows and stuff like 1.00

00:16:59.220 that. I'm not against that. I just don't want you to do it. Yeah. Because you're unlikable

00:17:03.520 and horrible. Yeah. Like I think there are so many other women who I would rather watch do it. 1.00

00:17:08.160 Like us. Exactly. Or others. Or others even. And like, I think the, the problem I have too,

00:17:15.440 and maybe this is why there aren't as many women in this space is because they're like, 1.00

00:17:19.380 they get so woke. Like they're just so freaking woke. And it's like, you're pissing off all the

00:17:25.160 men. And then you're pissing off if you're doing an American talk show. So many like American women 1.00

00:17:30.100 who are just like moms who just want to like chill at night and you're alienating them. And it's like,

00:17:35.280 I don't know. Have we done this to ourselves? Chels? Maybe. Yeah. Is it her fault?

00:17:39.940 It's probably Chelsea's. It's the men's fault. I don't know. I feel like it's Chelsea's fault.

00:17:43.000 I feel like it's every issue that women face in 2022 is because of Chelsea and her weird apology 1.00

00:17:49.380 tour show. Yeah. So why did she get canceled? She did like this show on Netflix where she went

00:17:56.580 and she apologized to like visible minorities for being white. Oh, okay. Well, shocking. I hadn't

00:18:03.440 heard of it because you love her so much. I'm such a big fan. Yeah. Yeah. Anyway, uh, so, uh,

00:18:11.000 secret's out. Victoria's secret's out. Oh my God. So. And it's not a sexy one. It's not sexy,

00:18:17.700 of course, because Epstein is involved and whenever he's involved, there ain't nothing nice

00:18:21.720 about it. But, uh, so there's a documentary coming out that exposes the naked truth behind

00:18:26.680 the lingerie brand. But actually there's been quite a few articles that have already done a bit of a deep

00:18:33.020 dive into this, uh, documentary. I haven't seen it. It's not out yet. July 14th, it comes out. Um, so

00:18:40.200 let us know your thoughts, but it's so unsurprising that a lingerie company founded by

00:18:46.900 men has corruption. Like, are we shocked? Of course. Like not only that, but like so many of

00:18:54.180 their products are cheap and like over sexualized. They're not made for women. Yeah, definitely. And 1.00

00:18:59.540 you can tell by the kind of models that they use as well. Um, yeah, it's pretty interesting.

00:19:04.820 Apparently it's a hellish place to work. A hellish place. Well, the diet in itself.

00:19:11.260 Yeah. Well, I, that sounds like hell as well. So there's an op-ed or like an investigative

00:19:16.900 kind of article called the culture of misogyny inside Victoria's secret. And apparently Epstein

00:19:23.800 would, was kind of like hanging around and he would pretend to be like a model agent. And then

00:19:30.980 he'd like lure these girls. Yeah. Like a scout. And then he'd lure girls and then he'd like

00:19:34.700 assault them and stuff. Young ones. Yeah. And HR didn't care. HR doesn't care about the behavior

00:19:39.800 of the, um, the founder. And it doesn't even work for them. Yeah. At all. Like there's

00:19:43.560 no actual tie, like in terms of there being an employment contract or anything. Yeah. But

00:19:48.460 there's like all these ties, like unofficial ties. Yeah, exactly. And it's just, it makes

00:19:53.660 you wonder like who else is involved in, in the Epstein circle. I think it's much bigger

00:19:59.560 than we think. Like, I think there's a lot of. No. Yeah. Like I just, it's so creepy

00:20:05.620 though. It's super creepy. Um, I want to read a quote from this Atlantic article. Yeah.

00:20:09.800 Um, so Jeffrey Epstein reportedly told women and young girls that he was a modeling scout

00:20:14.300 for Victoria's Secret. The financier never worked for the lingerie retailer or even technically

00:20:19.140 for its parent company, L Brands. But he had a close relationship with the head of L Brands,

00:20:24.000 Les Wexner, assuming an unusual degree of control over Wexner's assets and personal life, according

00:20:29.900 to reporting to the New York Times. And then there's two accounts here that are highly disturbing.

00:20:34.560 Um, one is according to Alicia Arden, a model and actress, this was Epstein's

00:20:39.380 ruse when he lured her to Santa Monica, to a Santa Monica hotel room and assaulted her 0.99

00:20:44.320 in 1997. Grace. And then there's another one here. When Maria Farmer, who worked the door

00:20:50.040 at Epstein's New York mansion, asked why so many young girls were going in and out of

00:20:54.100 his home. She says she was told that they were auditioning to be models for the lingerie

00:20:58.400 brand. Some of them, she told the New Yorker, were wearing school uniforms. Now, were those

00:21:05.660 costumes maybe? I don't know. Because guys like that, which is already problematic, but

00:21:10.660 or were the actual school uniforms? Well, that's just wonderful. Yeah, and knowing that it's

00:21:15.680 Epstein. Yeah. Yeah. You guys do the math yourself. Yeah. And basically the whole point

00:21:21.440 of this brand was to create a place where men could buy sexual garments for women. It had 1.00

00:21:27.660 nothing to do with empowering women, though their advertising campaigns tried to sell it 0.95

00:21:31.940 to us. And so many women bought into this. And it's just, it's like, why are we buying

00:21:36.680 into lies that men are telling us? Like, why do we do it? It's not empowering. Like, we're

00:21:40.660 we're losing the battle when it comes to female empowerment. If that's the case, we're like 1.00

00:21:44.600 that sexy because this man told me and I'm going to do it because men are telling me to. 0.74

00:21:48.940 It's so gross. I will say, though, I have bought underwear from them and I do enjoy some

00:21:53.500 of it. Like some of it, I'm like, I like that. That looks nice to me. Yeah. I think

00:21:57.360 it's personal preference. Yeah, of course. But like, it's never, it's never really about

00:22:02.000 like, and it's not supposed to be comfortable. Like, it's not like, like there's other brands

00:22:06.040 if you want to wear comfortable, well-supporting garments. Like that's, you don't shop at Victoria's

00:22:10.760 Secret. But it's, it's just like, you can, you can have a sexy lingerie brand without raping 0.89

00:22:19.240 young girls. I think that was. That's, I think, the takeaway here. Yeah. Yeah. I think just 0.97

00:22:23.360 the premise though, in which the company was founded is just kind of icky. It makes

00:22:27.280 me feel icky just because it's like, obviously belittling and over-sexualizing women and sometimes

00:22:32.920 young women. And what, one of the things we were kind of talking about offline is like,

00:22:37.540 where the hell are all the models who walked in the Victoria's Secret fashion show? Why 1.00

00:22:41.420 didn't none of them really come out? I know Bella Hadid kind of did because she was in a 2018

00:22:47.360 fitting. Uh, she was being measured for underwear that would meet broadcast standards. And Mr.

00:22:52.740 Razek, who, uh, was, uh, what was he? Mr. Razek. He's one of the executives or something. Anyway,

00:23:01.320 he, um, he sat on a couch watching her get fitted. And then he said, forget the panties.

00:23:08.340 What are you going to wear instead? I don't know. On live TV. I'm not too sure that that's allowed.

00:23:14.380 Why would a man have to be in the room for that? That is so gross. Well, exactly. It's so gross 0.94

00:23:19.560 and it's so inappropriate. And so I guess she took a break from working with the company, but 0.61

00:23:23.200 because they promised to change or whatever, they're trying to change. And I, that they're

00:23:29.060 going in a whole new direction, I guess. Yeah. Have you seen some of the new stuff though? It's like,

00:23:33.240 it's like nude for all sizes. It's like, you know what? And all genders. Yeah. All genders. It's

00:23:39.200 like, it's just ugly, but just like, okay, whatever. People need underwear. Yeah. People need underwear.

00:23:43.380 It was just like, it doesn't erase your past sins. Right. Just making giant underwear.

00:23:47.620 Well, that's my point. And now she's going to start working with them again. And it's

00:23:50.360 like, don't you remember a girl? Like, and why weren't you speaking out about this more

00:23:54.700 publicly? Like, I just think it's so gross. It's because of the money. Follow the money,

00:23:59.300 honey. Yeah. Well, it's just, and we've mentioned this too. It's like, where were all the actors

00:24:03.420 and directors and producers who were calling out Jeffrey, sorry, not Jeffrey, I've seen

00:24:07.460 Harvey Weinstein for the 20, 30 years that he was producing movies. Like, hello, where

00:24:15.340 were you guys? But now you're all going to come out and be like, oh, it's just awful. It's

00:24:18.240 just awful. Isn't it? It's like, well, you're the one who showed your butt to him. Like you

00:24:21.280 should have, you should have spoken out. It's so true. And obviously like, it's probably

00:24:26.140 very intimidating, but like we're, we're a couple of gals who like to swim upstream. And

00:24:30.480 I just don't think, like, I just don't really think there's an excuse because when you don't

00:24:35.160 speak out because you're scared, you're going to eventually hurt someone else. Someone else is

00:24:39.580 going to be implicated later. Think about the girls that are beneath you that have not yet made 1.00

00:24:44.020 it to your echelon yet. Exactly. They are going to have to do that same thing that is making you

00:24:48.780 uncomfortable, but you don't care. And it's your fault because you didn't stop it or you didn't

00:24:52.160 tell people about it. And I mean, in some instances at this Victoria's Secret company, people did try to

00:24:57.520 talk to HR and they were basically just completely ignored and, um, which is horrible. And that's a

00:25:03.340 whole nother problem, but yeah, that's the problem. Like when you speak out, you and nothing happens,

00:25:09.080 you can get in trouble, but it's like, we, if enough people do this, like we have to take down

00:25:13.820 these monsters and we have to, and talk about women's empowerment, taking your top off to promote 1.00

00:25:18.700 your show, Cara is not women's empowerment. No, it's not. And I think together to take down these 0.99

00:25:24.500 helpful men is women's empowerment. Exactly. Like go get them girls. And I think another thing

00:25:28.940 this scandal kind of speaks to is just how like, we think that this, this world, all these Hollywood

00:25:33.500 celebrities and these models, it's so glamorous and it's so chic, but it's so depraved. Like it's

00:25:39.020 just filled with a bunch of perverts. Yeah. Like, hello, Harvey. To, to, you know, rewind all the way 1.00

00:25:44.940 back to our Shawn Mendes conversation. Like we look at these people, like you just said, and I think that

00:25:49.660 their lives are so glamorous and awesome, but they're miserable, but they're miserable. Like, you know how

00:25:53.620 Bella Hadid constantly posts selfies of her crying. Yeah. And it's like her way to like,

00:25:58.000 and it's like, cope with her anxiety. Yeah. It's like, why are you so, you have what we would

00:26:01.780 think is the best life ever. Clearly it's not. Yeah. Clearly like I don't cry every day. I don't,

00:26:07.000 I don't either. I don't either. Like it's, it's sad to me that you people have such beautiful lives

00:26:12.980 from the outside and you're suffering so much and maybe you should speak out about it more and maybe

00:26:16.480 we can change the culture a little bit. Yeah. You guys have the power. People are looking at you,

00:26:20.180 but you pretend everything's okay. I mean, I guess again, Bella, maybe she's trying to show

00:26:24.080 it's not, it's not all okay. Like maybe she's trying a little bit. But I think too, one thing

00:26:29.960 that kind of exemplifies is that these people are obviously miserable yet we're constantly being

00:26:35.600 told that we should want to be like them. And it's like, but what are they missing that you have?

00:26:40.600 Like one thing I know is that I have God. And like, even though I am a very flawed human being

00:26:47.180 who has to bring my sins to Christ very frequently, like I'm not empty. Yeah. Like I'm not an empty

00:26:54.520 person. Like I feel fulfilled. I feel satisfied, even though there are things I want more of. And

00:26:59.020 it's like, when I compare myself to them, like I don't really want what they have. I sort of do.

00:27:04.300 I want their clothes. I would like the pool time. That's the thing. I would like to hang out by a pool

00:27:08.680 a lot, but you know, like I would, I'm not willing to take my top off for that. I'm not willing to

00:27:14.000 sacrifice my eternal soul for it. Exactly. Yeah. And hurt other women in the process. Right. 1.00

00:27:20.800 Exactly. So anyway, it's interesting that a lot of this stuff's coming out. I feel like we're going

00:27:27.020 to just start to hear about more and more corruption within these industries. And I'm

00:27:32.420 excited for it. And specifically to do with Jeffrey Epstein, who, and we, did we talk about this last

00:27:37.620 week? I forget. No. Ghislaine Maxwell was sentenced to what? 30 years, 20, 25, 20, yes. 20 something

00:27:43.820 years of prison, which is good. She's a monster. It's just weird that her, so the buyers of these 1.00

00:27:52.460 women, the clients, we've not heard a peep about. Yeah. So the woman who gets them, she lures them 1.00

00:27:59.440 and she's horrible. But with the people that she's selling these women to, those people are

00:28:04.660 most likely in high positions of, oh, we talked about it on Sheila's show. Yes. Yeah. These men

00:28:09.220 are likely in high positions of power and we're not going to hear about it until we're all dead

00:28:14.460 because they're still in power. So shocking no, that this Lex Westerner gentleman was tied to Jeffrey

00:28:23.260 Epstein. And I'm sure there's so many more. Yeah. Even people who we probably like. Yeah. Which is

00:28:30.000 scary. That's scary. That's why you can't idolize humans. Exactly. Yeah. Like it's just not worth it.

00:28:35.440 So be fans of nobody but us. Yeah. And the good Lord. Jesus. Yeah. Okay. All right. Well, I think

00:28:41.100 that was fun. That was fun. Should we move on? Yes. Let's move on. All right. Do you want to take it

00:28:45.620 away? She rebel Wilson is being praised for her. Oh, wait. Yes. Yeah. Rebel Wilson is being praised for

00:28:50.960 her candid post about gaining weight on vacation and reminding her followers that your weight doesn't

00:28:54.700 define you. Yes. Yes. I mean, I agree. Yes. I do. What I appreciate about this is that she's said,

00:29:02.840 um, okay. Yeah. She said, I just noticed I put on six pounds on my holiday, blah, blah, blah, blah,

00:29:08.820 blah. But then she continued, but you know what? I can get up tomorrow and go to the gym and hydrate

00:29:13.360 and eat healthy and love myself. It's like, yeah. So you, you ate a little too much on vacation too.

00:29:19.080 Sure. That's what you do on vacation. Yeah. It's totally fine to indulge, but you have to

00:29:23.220 be responsible too. Like it has to, it has to be counteracted with something healthy. I think

00:29:28.300 like you have to have a balanced approach to your life. Yeah. Cause it's so easy to gain

00:29:32.780 weight. It's real hard to lose it. Yeah. And it's really easy to let the pressure of Hollywood

00:29:37.580 get you down and make you depressed. And what I liked about this is, is just in the title,

00:29:43.920 um, that she's being praised for her candid posts about gaining weight on vacation, but

00:29:48.560 like the actual, not the actual, exactly. Because we see so much of that. Like, Oh,

00:29:52.060 Lizzo is being praised for gaining weight. It's like, that's not great. But if Lizzo

00:29:56.620 healthy, it's not healthy. But if Liz, if they were praising Lizzo for being like, listen,

00:30:00.400 I gained some weight, but I'm like, I'm working on it and I'm not going to get myself, I'm not

00:30:05.260 going to beat myself up for it, but also I'm going to get to the gym soon and hydrate and

00:30:09.220 stay healthy. She's holding herself personally responsible. Exactly. Exactly. And that's,

00:30:12.320 what's cool about it. And for rebel Wilson to be a human being is in the eyes of, of

00:30:17.840 when everyone's looking at her is cool because she's like, I went on vacation. I gained some

00:30:21.380 weight. It's like, don't hide that because that's what a Kardashian would do. Yeah. They

00:30:24.820 would just, they would just sweat it out and starve themselves and be like, Oh no. Oh my

00:30:28.720 gosh, I ate so much. But like, I'm just genetically blessed, I guess. Like that's what they do. And

00:30:33.740 it's like, you're no, you're a, you're a human being. You're in your thirties slash forties,

00:30:37.760 Kim. So when you eat, overeat and indulge, you're going to gain weight, but it's like,

00:30:41.640 it's not the end of the world either. Like we can have these conversations that gaining weight

00:30:45.260 does in your weight does not define you. No, it doesn't. And I think, I think it's okay to have a

00:30:49.760 little, like to feel a little bit of guilt if you've overindulged because that motivates you.

00:30:53.780 You're like, okay, I, maybe I took it too far and I ate like 1200 cookies. Yeah. Me too. And then

00:30:58.960 I'm like, crap, but this is my fault. I gotta, I gotta, you know, eat salad the next day and I gotta go 0.95

00:31:03.940 for a run or something or watch someone run, you know, whatever works. That's what I do.

00:31:07.720 Yeah. She watches me run. Yeah. Um, it's think about and some, and I'm like, Oh, I'm exhausted.

00:31:12.520 Yeah. Somehow she still has like abs. Her baby has abs. Um, but yeah, I think, you know, I think

00:31:18.700 it's good to have a balanced approach and I like that she's doing it. Yeah. And I like her. She's

00:31:23.980 funny. Yeah. She is funny. And her name's rebel. That's hilarious. Oh, I didn't even think of that.

00:31:28.120 Yeah. Maybe I should name my kids up. Okay. Send in your baby name suggestions. Okay. It's like,

00:31:37.460 we've never gotten an email. We got one. We're like a lot, a lot of people are asking,

00:31:42.740 like no one's asking. People asking where I got my top. Yeah. She's not going to tell you

00:31:48.340 because she doesn't want you to have it. I don't want you to look good. Okay. Speaking of people who

00:31:53.020 look good, Adele, most empowering quotes about her weight loss journey. So most of you know,

00:31:58.280 Adele, her weight loss, she lost, I think it was like a hundred pounds in two years or something.

00:32:02.720 So it's a pretty big transformation though. Like over two years. Oh yeah. Like she didn't just like,

00:32:07.460 you can build a plane at your, in your backyard in two years. Like it's fine. It wasn't like 16 pounds

00:32:12.860 in two weeks. Like our friends, uh, Kim Kardashian. So, you know, a lot of people though,

00:32:19.520 I feel like we're really unfair to Adele for her weight loss journey. Yeah. Well,

00:32:23.320 that's what people do. It's so unfair. Because they saw them, she, they saw her as their fat

00:32:27.740 ally and it wasn't okay that she's no longer fat, even though it has nothing to do with you guys.

00:32:32.420 Yeah. And it's like, sorry, her body, her choice. No, no, nevermind. Okay. You know,

00:32:38.180 it's, and I think one thing why we're kind of highlighting her is because her approach to

00:32:42.000 losing weight was never about getting skinny. It was something actually that she would use to

00:32:45.600 combat, combat anxiety. And that's like, one of the things I like working out is the

00:32:49.480 just, it's so cathartic. You're able to like, if you're angry, you're able to work it out or

00:32:53.860 whatever, you know, and it's, that's part of the benefit to working out aside from just, you know,

00:32:58.520 getting abs or whatever. Yeah. That's what she said is, as she was struggling with anxiety and

00:33:02.720 she'd done a bunch of stuff to combat it. And the only thing that she found was actually really

00:33:07.240 useful was working out. And then kind of just reiterating what you said, but then people attacked

00:33:11.260 her for, you know, because it's their business, because it's their business, what she looks like. Um, 0.99

00:33:17.320 because people feel like they own celebrities, which we do. Well, we do pay their bills. Yeah,

00:33:22.320 we do. Um, Sean. Yeah, Sean, I'm paying you. Um, but you know, people are always going to have an

00:33:27.240 opinion on your appearance or your weight. And I like that. She's just kind of like,

00:33:30.780 screw you guys about it because it's, she has to live with herself at the end of the day, 1.00

00:33:35.000 not you. And that's why like when all these progressives, the mob comes after people, 0.97

00:33:38.900 you know, for being like, I don't know, for like, let's say even encouraging a woman to get an 0.98

00:33:42.740 abortion or something, or like trying to be supportive while she makes the choice to abort 0.96

00:33:46.760 her baby. It's like, but you don't have to live with the consequences if you're the one encouraging

00:33:50.660 that person. Yeah. That person has to live with themself at the end of the day. And it's like,

00:33:54.640 so I like her, Adele's approach to this topic because it's like, she, it's her, she's all she's

00:34:01.160 got is her own body. Like at the end of the day, her body, her choice. She also was a toddler,

00:34:05.440 you guys, she needs to be able to chase after it. Yeah. You can't do that if you're like really

00:34:09.980 unhealthy. No. So, no. And it's also, ideally she's not doing it in a way that is negative

00:34:16.260 towards her health and that she has a healthy relationship with food and she can pass it on

00:34:19.600 to her children. Yeah, exactly. And her fans too. That's the most important thing. Yeah.

00:34:23.520 And I think she is leading by example. Yeah. And she's got a great voice. I heard someone

00:34:27.000 singing an Adele song at like an outdoor pub and it was not good. And I was like, you should leave

00:34:32.800 that bong for Adele. Yeah. Anyways. That's our advice to you, stranger on the street. Like you're probably

00:34:39.400 good. Just not that good. Just don't sing Adele, but I'm rolling in the, no. Okay. That was the

00:34:43.940 song and it was like, Oh, you know what? Not everyone can sing that song. Not everyone can

00:34:47.860 sing that song. Is that the sure? That's the sure. I think that's the sure. Well, thank you
