Rebel News Podcast - Miss Understood No. 37 — Your Health, Your Responsibility

00:00:00.000 hello and welcome to misunderstood the show for the culturally and politically misunderstood

00:00:23.760 lady gent or non-binary nipple owner we are your hosts i'm nat and i'm fat today we're talking 0.67

00:00:32.320 about health the good the bad and the ugly when it comes to mental health alzheimer's disease and

00:00:37.440 body image hello but first our patented culture shock moment of the week let's take it away nat

00:00:44.320 it's actually nerd um all righty so joe biden had a trans tiktok influencer join him in a conversation

00:00:52.400 at the white house to discuss girlhood and transness um so we just wanted to show you a clip from that

00:00:59.520 do you think states should have a right to ban gender-affirming health care i don't think any

00:01:04.960 state or anybody should have the right to do that as a moral question and as a legal question i just

00:01:10.640 think it's wrong do you think um it's funny that dylan all of a sudden is like super serious and

00:01:21.920 like like do you think that the state should have a right like who when did you ever care about rights

00:01:28.080 and states and children ever no it's such a good point and that's something that they actually

00:01:32.880 addressed in a video uh pre a precursor video before uh dylan met with the president she was like or he

00:01:41.280 was like i'm i know i'm always so silly and it's hard to take me seriously but now guys now it's time

00:01:47.680 to take me seriously and you're like as you're wearing the trans flag as an outfit and by the way

00:01:52.160 your outfit was very out of style just for the record i really didn't like that well that's how dylan

00:01:57.440 is yeah this individual dresses like a car a caricature of a woman yeah and um i was listening to

00:02:05.200 stephen crowder's take on it um earlier and he was mentioning how it's like they tried to remember

00:02:10.720 when they tried to make barbie fat because they're like oh you don't want exactly you don't want to

00:02:15.280 have like a caricature of what a woman should look like but it's like but then we're gonna send this 1.00

00:02:19.360 literal caricature to the white house like who care do i care that they go to the white house

00:02:24.080 no i'm not american i'm never gonna get invited there even if i was probably one day we're very 0.86

00:02:29.120 famous that's true but like it's sort of weird that this person who is silly on tiktok and literally

00:02:36.320 like dances in a bathing suit and is like i'm a girl suddenly being taken all of a sudden yeah you're

00:02:41.120 not talking about like policy they're the white house expert yeah because that's all that's the

00:02:45.520 only person they could ask like i don't know maybe call in blair white but that would be yeah no yeah

00:02:50.400 yeah because she's a person who's actually lived as a woman for many years yeah like an actual

00:02:55.040 transgender individual but they're conservative right and it's also like is dylan really equipped

00:03:00.320 with the knowledge to be able to tackle these sorts of issues like sure they're trans but that 0.99

00:03:04.880 doesn't mean they know what's actually going on in america it's a big country it is a big country

00:03:09.280 and yeah exactly like for going from dancing in a bikini to now talking about policy it's like

00:03:14.000 you've shown no interest in this at any point but now all of a sudden you're an expert they're an

00:03:18.240 expert even though there are actual trans people like blair white who have talked about these issues

00:03:22.800 for a long time yeah it's just it's a it's embarrassing that joe biden i think would invite

00:03:27.920 this person is embarrassing the whole thing is embarrassing talk about girlhood anyways anyway 1.00

00:03:33.760 anyways shut up dylan okay that's what i have to say about that woman face am i right okay 1.00

00:03:39.120 all right speaking of mental health issues yeah anne hathaway i was so stressed out she reveals she 0.96

00:03:46.000 missed great moments at the start of her career because she was worried about messing up

00:03:51.520 yeah it's just crazy how powerful fear is yeah it is it's so crazy and how stifling it is and how

00:03:57.200 how it can really impact your entire life because you're too afraid to you know take that leap of faith

00:04:02.480 or to go to the party or to talk to the person or to audition for the thing like it's it's crazy how it

00:04:07.440 can literally ruin your life if you let it yeah and even though it didn't ruin her life she obviously 1.00

00:04:11.760 is like super successful and beautiful and talented it's interesting how she's like looking back now in 0.62

00:04:16.560 her younger years and it's like i didn't even enjoy any of that because i was so caught up in my own

00:04:20.480 head and it's so sad like it is sad it's like the prime of her life and her career is the prime of her

00:04:25.520 life and and it's over you'll never get it back in hindsight really is 2020 yeah i wanted to mention that

00:04:31.360 this reminds me you know when people talk about mindfulness and it's like the most annoying thing on the

00:04:35.120 planet and i'm going to talk about mindfulness right now so annoying so i'm taking this hypnobirthing

00:04:41.040 class to prepare me for giving birth painlessly that's right um and they talked about mindfulness

00:04:46.480 and i was like but i didn't really understand what it is and it's actually quite simple it's literally

00:04:50.960 just break using a trick it's like it's using a trick to bring yourself into the current moment so

00:04:55.920 not worrying about the fear of the future or the stressors of the past which you cannot change

00:05:00.240 um and there's like some um tips that they give you in order to like stay in the moment so perhaps

00:05:07.280 if ann hathaway had like been aware of like how to do this when she was younger she could have just 0.94

00:05:12.000 been like i'm i'm doing this i'm good i'm like you can do it exactly so there are a couple tips that i

00:05:17.600 learned um you can stare at something visually and just be like oh i'm looking at a red ball this red

00:05:22.560 ball right here it's shiny it's red whatever so you're just like focused exactly focusing on something

00:05:27.520 currently in the room with you you can do it audibly where you're like what sounds am i hearing i'm

00:05:31.840 hearing the fan i'm hearing the buzzing of the lights i'm hearing nat's beautiful

00:05:35.680 voice whatever it is generous and then there's also touch i can touch nat's hair i can feel the

00:05:40.480 fluffy softness of it like there there are ways to bring yourself in and it sounds silly and the word

00:05:44.720 mindfulness really irks me yeah but it's better than if you if you find yourself like for me i wake up in

00:05:50.880 the night because i can't sleep and i'm like oh like this and this and this and this i'm sure it happens to

00:05:55.440 all a lot of people lately i've been like listen to the fan like the sound of the rotating things

00:06:00.320 or whatever counting sheep exactly yeah you're just focusing on something and it's actually hard at

00:06:04.160 first but it gets easier and easier so heller and hathaway you're welcome yeah and i think one thing

00:06:09.040 too like i'm a naturally anxious person and my mom always describes me as a fatalist but i think one

00:06:14.000 thing that's also helped set me free from that even though i still have days where i get super anxious

00:06:19.040 and you know i can't i can't reconcile that it's not the end of the world yeah i found i find that my

00:06:24.400 faith has really helped me in that yes because like the bible like is very clear on this like

00:06:29.520 his yoke is easy and his burden is light that's talking about jesus and like you can cast your

00:06:33.440 burdens on him like he wants to carry that for you and that's something that's really helped me yeah

00:06:38.160 so i mean i think just having faith like i've talked about this before i used to have a lot of

00:06:42.480 anxiety as well and since i became a christian like for me becoming a christian is literally just

00:06:47.440 like in my own heart i was like i feel like i believe in god now i feel like these are things

00:06:53.360 that i these are things i want to live by and like um yeah it's definitely a heart thing exactly

00:06:58.320 i haven't read the whole bible so it takes a long time it takes a long time but very long but it has

00:07:03.040 completely eased my anxiety and that's for me personally i can't attest to that for everybody

00:07:07.280 exactly absolutely but i just can't imagine going through this life without it and so life is

00:07:13.360 is terrifying it's so yeah life is hard so i'm which takes us to our next article yeah yeah this

00:07:17.920 is a really sad yeah this is very sad so this comes from vice um young people are taking more

00:07:23.760 drugs now because life sucks now again just even just in the article title it's like okay you whoever 0.53

00:07:30.320 wrote this article has no faith yeah you can tell you can the whole article is written exactly exactly 0.73

00:07:35.360 because there's nothing you can do life just sucks oh the climate all this and that like cost of

00:07:39.520 housing yeah those are all i mean climate yeah but like there are real stressors in the world

00:07:44.240 yeah but these poor kids like you don't know how to cope they don't know how to cope and i i mean we

00:07:49.040 can get to that later like what's the solution here but we'll just maybe talk about some of the data so

00:07:55.200 uh this is a base in the uk so new research from a youth charity called the mix recently reported a 50

00:08:01.040 rise in the number of young people taking drugs since 2021 with one in three ages 16 to 25 year old

00:08:06.560 using drugs in the past year one in five are primarily using substances to escape problems

00:08:12.160 in their lives so these kids are literally self-medicating yeah 50 increase and that's

00:08:16.560 only from 2021 yeah to now so it's only it's almost 2023 so it's like almost two years but like people

00:08:24.080 have been doing drugs for a long time this is not like a little it's not like oh they're 50 increase

00:08:29.680 since 1920 it's like since 2021 that's absolutely it's been a day it's absolutely terrifying it's so

00:08:35.760 terrifying and it's scary that these kids are not equipped with the tools to be able to cope with

00:08:41.280 everyday stressors in their lives and it's like who's to blame here i'm not sure is it because

00:08:45.120 they're the generation where parents just kind of affirmed their emotions and didn't teach them how

00:08:50.240 to like reconcile them or is it like is it society is it because a lot of kids have turned to the

00:08:55.680 internet to parent them or is it secularism i don't know what it is but it's yeah there's something

00:09:00.240 here and it's it's a crisis it is literally a crisis in the article they mention at the end where

00:09:06.320 it's like climate change um the pandemic cost of living are all uh to blame one of the things that

00:09:13.440 i found very interesting was like um it says that the housing crisis uh reasons uh blah blah sorry it

00:09:18.880 says mentions the looming climate crisis as an as a reason for people to be so depressed and i'm like

00:09:24.160 like did you accidentally write climate crisis instead of like nuclear war yeah like the looming

00:09:29.600 climate crisis like any day now the climate might kill us all it might incinerate us it's like if

00:09:35.280 there's a looming crisis it's literally nuclear war but anyways that's which is so sad because it's

00:09:40.160 just propaganda is making these kids terrified for their lives so they're unable to cope so they're

00:09:44.800 turning to substances and then like in one hand you'll have someone like exactly what you're saying

00:09:49.520 like propaganda you'll have one article being like oh the climate crisis is going to kill us all and

00:09:53.280 they're like these poor kids yeah it makes no sense like well especially you are feeding this

00:09:57.920 especially because vice refers to the pandemic and lockdowns and stuff and i'm not i don't know

00:10:02.240 i'd have don't read vice every single day but i have a feeling they were kind of more on the pro

00:10:06.160 lockdown side given that was the more liberal side so it's like okay lockdown is yeah why these kids

00:10:11.200 have turned to abusing these substances yet like yet they're saying these poor children they're all

00:10:16.320 addicted to drugs it's like it's literally you're part of the problem vice yeah you're part of the problem

00:10:20.800 yeah so one of the stories they have fake names here what this one girl um there's one named sasha 0.55

00:10:27.440 who's 20 and uses ketamine regularly to escape her problems um one of the things that they write is

00:10:33.520 that um hold on you can't control your emotions yeah hold on i actually wanted to talk about emily the

00:10:41.680 other one so she talks about how she can't meet ends meet and the cost of housing is so high in the uk

00:10:48.800 which it's very valley it's a it's a valuable it's valid yeah it's a valid insight exactly but

00:10:55.360 they say that she had to take out a thousand pound loan just to meet ends meet and it's like

00:11:00.080 so you're taking out money to buy drugs because you can't afford your life which is horrifying

00:11:06.720 and also the same girl she admits to doing mdma she does ketamine regularly and she does mdma at least

00:11:12.240 once a week and i looked and i've so i've done mdma and i did it like multiple times in a row when i

00:11:18.880 was in college and i did experience what i'm about to talk about which is your inability to create your

00:11:24.000 own serotonin so right mdma causes greater release of serotonin and neo research how to say this word

00:11:31.200 neo damn it it's a really tough thing um so it increases your levels of serotonin and basically it makes

00:11:41.680 your body in it gives it an inability to create its own serotonin so that causes depression and 0.98

00:11:48.560 anxiety well it's the highs and lows exactly but you only like after experiencing such a high from

00:11:53.280 mdma you only experience lows yeah and this girl is saying she uses mdma to escape her life because

00:11:59.840 she has so much depression and anxiety and it's actually causing it's causing it and it's so sad

00:12:04.320 because only maybe only some nerdy doctor will tell her that but it's like it needs to be more commonly

00:12:10.000 known it's like yeah it it the fact that she only started doing this drug in like 2021 so she's one 0.91

00:12:15.760 of these during the pandemic exactly so during the pandemic during lockdown she gets depressed she

00:12:20.240 starts taking drugs it makes her it makes her brain literally and unable to produce the happy chemicals 0.98

00:12:25.520 that make us feel good and feel relaxed especially at that age though like that why this article is so

00:12:30.480 depressing isn't that these young people are turning to drugs although that's terrible it's that like

00:12:35.280 like what's even worse about it is that kid they're in the prime of their life and they feel hopeless

00:12:40.880 already like when i was 22 i mean i you know you you go through the ups and downs and the trials of

00:12:46.320 being in your early 20s but good lord i wasn't hopeless i was not hopeless at like you're literally just

00:12:51.520 fresh out of high school or fresh out of university you've like the whole world should be your oyster

00:12:55.920 and yet you're like oh crap i don't know how to cope with adulthood i would argue that the 20s are not the

00:13:00.880 prime of your life like i'm way happier in my 30s no for sure like you're more insecure exactly but

00:13:05.520 like still you like you can do whatever you want with your life like there's so many choices available

00:13:10.880 to you especially if you're living in like that's scary oh for sure and there are scary parts of

00:13:15.120 growing up and like for me leaving college or leaving university and not knowing what i was going

00:13:19.360 to do next like that was a low for me oh of course it would be because you were like oh crap i'm an

00:13:23.760 adult now what do i do but imagine if i had gone down the road of ketamine like i and i'm not above it

00:13:30.000 because like i've done drugs in my life like so it's like i was exposed to it and i enjoyed doing

00:13:35.840 drugs and it's like i could have just gone down that road i've been like oh i'm taking out money

00:13:40.480 now to pay for my ketamine addiction like and it's a permanent addiction i guess to answer your

00:13:46.320 question from earlier it's like i blame the parents maybe i kind of do too because it's like

00:13:50.640 maybe you know parents should invest more time and not only educating their kids about drugs and

00:13:55.600 the safety of drugs and stuff but also like you know this is this is what you can do once you go

00:14:00.000 out of university these are the options for you this is maybe if you don't want to you know go in

00:14:04.160 this industry i don't know like just better equip kids maybe and prepare them for the culture shock

00:14:08.880 that is becoming a a member of society yeah it is a shock but yeah everyone has to do it and that's

00:14:14.640 yeah it's just like waking up in the morning it stinks but we have to do it we have to move forward

00:14:20.240 it's so true okay so one of the other things the article says is according to the mix report only

00:14:25.760 28 of young drug users who have experienced issues with substance use have access any support or

00:14:31.280 services meaning that over 2.2 million young people who are struggling are struggling without help

00:14:37.600 like it's so heartbreaking what's going to come what's going to become of these people they're the

00:14:41.280 future of society like it's literally it comes down to them like what's going to happen if we just

00:14:46.560 have a bunch of drug addicts running around or people who just don't know how to cope yeah that's

00:14:51.120 that's the scary part they don't know how to cope and it's funny because you have joe biden sitting

00:14:55.680 down with a transgender person talking about like oh like girlhood yeah girlhood and like how important 1.00

00:15:01.280 it is to for gender forming care for children to get spliced and diced yeah but meanwhile you have

00:15:06.960 actual i mean this is in the uk but i'm sure it translates to the united states sure and even in

00:15:12.640 canada like in the uk you have these young kids like just another one happened today where they

00:15:16.720 threw mashed potatoes on a what was it a painting it wasn't a picasso it was a van gore or something

00:15:22.080 something right um like what are we doing here we have we obviously have the resources to help these

00:15:28.560 kids but we're pouring them into like climate change propaganda and fear-mongering yeah and like

00:15:33.360 and like fear-mongering about covid and fear-mongering about like oh trans kids aren't allowed to it's 0.84

00:15:38.880 misguided it's so misguided when we actually have a problem in front of our faces and it needs

00:15:43.520 a solution and we're like oh but the climate yeah it makes me put on a tinfoil hat a little

00:15:48.400 because i'm like is this all contrived like is the government just want these people to become

00:15:52.400 addicted to substances so they're easier to control because i mean if kids are throwing you know tomato

00:15:57.840 soup at priceless paintings i mean it in the name of climate change like something's clearly gone very

00:16:03.040 wrong yeah someone told them to do that they're easy to they're easily influenced right they're under the

00:16:07.520 control of the propaganda i guess i don't know yeah it's like where's the book yeah i could go

00:16:12.960 on we could go on about this this article is just it's a good article to read it's so sad even though

00:16:18.560 vice comes at it from a point of view where it's like oh what can we do there's nothing because the

00:16:22.560 world sucks so much it's like well if they like talking about faith like before if they had a little

00:16:27.440 bit of religion in their life maybe it doesn't work for everybody but i would argue that even the most 0.98

00:16:33.360 hollowed out lowest person would benefit from a little faith it's so true because that's where 0.99

00:16:38.240 your hope is found like my hope is in eternity i'm like this earth it's it's crappy it sucks i

00:16:43.920 mean there's many blessings that come with being alive and stuff but i you need to look beyond the

00:16:48.880 tangible you know it's like okay great that's what faith is yeah it's like they're like oh i can't see

00:16:54.080 it so i i can't trust it but it's like you take the leap of faith knowing that things are going to be

00:16:59.600 okay and that even if you suffer in this life you're not going to suffer in the next and it's

00:17:03.920 and it's there will be amazing things that come that are tangible on earth from professing your

00:17:09.440 faith and giving your life to christ so anyway anywho jesus loves you anyway speaking of sad yeah

00:17:16.000 kendall jenner recalls putting up walls after middle school friends began asking to come over to appear

00:17:20.320 on her family reality show um and so she basically just talks about yeah um she also said in an

00:17:28.960 interview in 2018 that she talked about feeling really lonely during her childhood and i mean

00:17:34.960 yeah it's like kind of like all right kendall whatever but it's also kind of sad that you can

00:17:39.280 have everything and nothing at the same time that's what makes it sad you know and also i think just

00:17:44.800 the fact that kylie and kendall when the uh keeping up with the kardashians launched they were so young

00:17:49.440 and they did not have any idea that their lives were going to blow up like that and the problem is now

00:17:54.800 no matter what they do they can't escape this life like they're trapped in this life yeah it's

00:17:59.920 kind of sad it is sad i remember um one of the hadids bella maybe was posting instagram videos of

00:18:06.800 her crying yes and while i think it's healthy to like show that not your whole life isn't glitz and

00:18:12.720 glamour it's like what are you so sad about yeah like come on no it's so true and a lot of times it's

00:18:17.840 like they make up problems and it's like if you're crying that often like something's wrong in your life

00:18:22.160 like crying is healthy but to cry like consistently all the times like you i feel really bad for you

00:18:28.640 yeah like no these people are empty yeah they're empty and it's so sad it makes me sad yeah as an

00:18:33.840 outsider anyway don't exploit your kids for fame yeah all right speaking of sad yeah so we're going

00:18:40.640 to talk about alzheimer's and it's like why sorry what are we going to talk about oh she forgot

00:18:46.560 that was a bad joke we all forgot yeah i actually forgot no i literally forgot yeah great okay well

00:18:52.720 if we are suffering from alzheimer's maybe we should take a little bit more vitamin c wait a minute you're

00:18:58.240 you mean to tell me that there are natural ways to prevent vicious diseases no no no it's just you're

00:19:04.960 you're totally wrong it's only pharmaceuticals only medicine just prescribed by your doctor that's it

00:19:11.920 well you know what's interesting about that nat is that there is no pharmaceutical that claims to

00:19:17.120 prevent um alzheimer's oh but there are studies that prove that food and vitamins and exercise and

00:19:25.200 lifestyle changes so a healthy lifestyle can prevent alzheimer's or my girl yeah so it's a win for the

00:19:30.400 good guys that's great this article is from a something called the dr wrath foundation and it's a

00:19:35.920 meta-analysis supports vitamin c supplementation for prevention and treatment of alzheimer's disease so

00:19:41.600 i'm sure everyone knows what alzheimer's is but just very quickly it's a progressive neurodegenerative

00:19:46.240 disorder with an average survival time of less than 10 years following diagnosis alzheimer's disease

00:19:50.880 results in memory loss functional impairment and a host of site psychiatric symptoms such as apathy

00:19:56.000 agitation psychosis and depression it's super sad i have not personally seen um anyone with alzheimer's

00:20:03.360 but if you talk to anyone who has witnessed someone they love going through alzheimer's it's like

00:20:08.320 one of the worst ways to watch someone decay yeah and really it can so there are genetic things like

00:20:15.600 markers that you can have that you can be tested for to see if you're susceptible to it but most of

00:20:20.160 the time it's not even genetics though a lot of these diseases like yeah even like cancer like

00:20:24.880 apparently 90 percent of cancer cases cases are caused by lifestyle not genetics despite the fact that

00:20:30.480 the trend we hear is that oh everything is genetics you can't fight it you can't prevent it

00:20:35.200 so you can't even cure it eat corn pops and you'll exactly and you can do there's this guy who wrote

00:20:40.320 a book called crispy cancer and he discussed his journey because he was 26 years old when he was

00:20:45.600 diagnosed with colon cancer and it was like uh what's it called uh third stage he was in stage

00:20:52.640 three colon cancer sorry and um so they took out part of his colon and then when they were all done he

00:20:58.080 was like so are there any foods i maybe shouldn't eat you know i had and they're like no you're fine

00:21:02.240 no and then they were like oh you should do chemo he's like well if i do chemo are there foods that i

00:21:06.160 should you know should i try to eat a healthy diet they're like no because it's just like

00:21:09.280 they pitied him they're like i eat cheeseburgers fries and all that stuff and so when he controversially

00:21:14.320 decided to uh forego chemo and eat an exclusively raw diet and then cure himself he's still cancer-free

00:21:21.440 i've heard of everyone everyone calls him like a like a crazy person and it's like for taking his

00:21:26.640 health into his own hands and not being a like a drain on the medical system exactly and so it's just it's

00:21:32.160 crazy that we've been lied to so much about the the beauty of just taking care of your body to

00:21:37.840 prevent these things and cure them even i don't know controversial probably gonna get in trouble for

00:21:43.200 this one i don't know just a side note um no that's a really there are so many stories like that

00:21:48.720 i've met people who say exactly that they and then i've also heard stories where it's super unfortunate

00:21:54.400 someone gets diagnosed with cancer they do all the right stuff and then they still die so this is not

00:22:00.080 like a solve your it's not a one-size-fits-all yeah there's everybody is different but i'm just

00:22:05.040 saying if if people you're increasing your chances at survival if you take your diet and your lifestyle

00:22:10.080 into your own hands yeah um we can move past this particular article but i just want to mention that

00:22:15.360 like vitamin c if you google so they'll tell you that 75 milligrams is enough vitamin c for daily intake

00:22:20.960 but that's like very little and i'm not a doctor so i'm not going to tell anyone how much to take but

00:22:25.120 do a little research do a little digging because you can take a lot more than that yeah um and you

00:22:30.480 should yeah you should especially in the winter if you live in canada and they also say um b1 b6 b12

00:22:37.840 and e also may contribute to the development of the disorder if you don't have enough of those

00:22:43.360 vitamins as well so guys take care of your bodies just most of us are depleted of critical vitamins like

00:22:50.960 and we all know this probably by now but like 80 percent of covid patients in the in the er not

00:22:56.400 the er sorry in the yeah maybe yeah anyways they were all 80 percent of people hospitalized for covid

00:23:02.720 were deficient in vitamin d super important um and you can't say that no you can't yeah there's

00:23:07.360 a really good um resource on all this um dr mercola i highly recommend him he has been in so much

00:23:12.880 trouble from the mainstream media and big pharma because he has all these like natural remedies

00:23:17.600 so his articles have to be taken down after 24 hours unless he'd be sued so it's you can't really

00:23:23.840 go back and read all this stuff which is unfortunate but if you subscribe go to his website dr mercola

00:23:28.880 um you'll find so much interesting stuff it's almost overwhelming yeah how much stuff it's like oh god

00:23:33.360 it's just so sad though that our doctors don't like no they don't care about nutrition it's like you're

00:23:38.720 just well some of them do and then they get sued right exactly that's the thing though it's not the

00:23:42.320 it's not the mainstream anymore it's just like okay i'm gonna give you these drugs and i'm gonna

00:23:47.600 get money from these drugs because of big pharma and all this stuff it's just it's horrible that

00:23:52.320 our health care is not health care and i think the pandemic was prevention exactly and i think the

00:23:57.840 pandemic was so beautiful and wonderful in that way because it exposed so much of this to us and i

00:24:03.040 think there's so much more that we could even uncover but yeah anyway we'll move on yeah so we can

00:24:08.560 actually like talk about both these articles at the same time because there are so many overlapping

00:24:12.640 things here so there's this guy named matt lugover he was on joe rogan recently which is how i found out

00:24:18.080 about him he has so his mother had not alzheimer's but a degenerative uh mental disorder like alzheimer's

00:24:25.840 right dementia um a really really rare aggressive form of dementia but this this article is about 11

00:24:33.600 powerful nootropic memory enhancing food so a nootropic is something that is used to enhance your

00:24:37.840 memory and cognitive functions so he there are supplements and drugs that you can take to improve

00:24:45.520 like that are nootropic however matt lugover insists who is i'll just say he's a top health podcaster

00:24:51.360 wellness journalist filmmaker and author um he has a list of foods that he says are better than any

00:24:56.800 supplement or drug yeah which makes sense because god was like hey you're gonna need these and so he gave

00:25:02.400 us exactly these these naturally occurring foods and exactly and when you eat something that's just

00:25:08.400 for one thing like if you take oh i'm taking this nootropic drug like the the things on this list

00:25:13.680 the foods are going to give you a whole other slew of health benefits that you're also yeah exactly

00:25:18.480 so we'll just run through them eggs leafy dark greens dark chocolate coffee green tea extra virgin olive

00:25:25.440 oil broccoli sprouts blueberries turmeric fatty fish and water because even not water yeah water no

00:25:31.920 yeah it's just a life source yeah surprising it needs to be on the list but i guess it really does

00:25:36.720 well yeah even mild dehydration can cause brain uh dysfunction so yeah which makes sense because i

00:25:41.920 get pretty grumpy when i'm oh yeah me too i get like angry and sleepy and mean um and the reason i

00:25:48.000 wanted to mix that in with this other article which is from health harvard is because so many of the

00:25:51.680 things that they say to this article is about how to prevent alzheimer's disease so basically it's

00:25:56.480 just taking care of your body exactly and the things that they mention on here are pretty much the exact

00:26:00.240 same foods yeah plus wine plus yeah plus red wine it's the mediterranean diet that they call it um

00:26:07.200 but then there's other things on the list of course like sleep and exercise exactly and um and also

00:26:13.200 social connection exactly which i was like hmm heller lockdown heller yeah no it totally makes sense

00:26:19.040 yeah even like um my sebastian's grandmother my husband's grandmother she is like 80 something and

00:26:27.680 she is so sharp because she gets up every day and she goes to work for like a few hours and she does 1.00

00:26:32.800 her little things and then she goes home and she does her little things and like doing those kinds of

00:26:37.040 things like not only is she seeing someone but she's actually doing work with her brain it just keeps

00:26:41.680 you so much like longer that was another one on the list um uh learning new things or yeah

00:26:48.080 constantly doing things um creates like keeps neural pathways right because sharp when you're

00:26:53.920 like retired and you just sit at home and watch tv all day your brain is just going to turn literally

00:26:57.760 deteriorate yeah so it's like you've got to stay active in your old age so you're never really retiring

00:27:02.560 folks unfortunately and the reason that i wanted to bring this up now is like yeah sure we're

00:27:06.240 young but you might be young but you can start you should be concerned about preventing this now

00:27:14.000 yeah you only get one body exactly we have my mom is my parents are in their 60s like these are

00:27:19.280 important things to share with people that you love because it's like you want the best for them so

00:27:24.160 it's never too early to start eating high fat diet no yeah and avoiding processed food and sugar

00:27:29.840 and getting enough sleep and exercise and taking care of your brain yeah the cancer chris guy chris

00:27:36.480 beat cancer he said that if it if it's made by a man don't eat it so what about god well he's not 0.68

00:27:43.680 man okay true yeah but yeah so much more but anyway okay let's move on yeah we'll move on uh so body

00:27:49.120 image drew barrymore shuns plastic surgery says i don't want to fight nature so base yeah so she says i'm

00:27:55.200 raising two daughters and we were raised in an industry where it was desired to drink off the fountain of

00:27:58.960 youth and i just never subscribed to it she continued per express i think men just need to

00:28:03.440 let women know aging is safe and awesome yeah it's so true and it's so refreshing to see a celebrity

00:28:09.760 come out and say this and yeah i saw someone post about this on twitter too about how like everyone

00:28:14.640 who gets plastic surgery now literally just looks the exact same so you've basically erased all

00:28:19.920 individuality which is one of the most beautiful parts about being an individual you're you there's

00:28:25.440 nobody like you nobody has your beauty yeah and it's like so sad that we're erasing that by the

00:28:29.760 way to please men because it's like this is what we think men want men want kim kardashian we don't

00:28:34.320 want yeah true but or we don't want other women being like oh look at her wrinkles right as women we 1.00

00:28:39.280 need to stop talking like that all together it's so true yeah um i also think it's interesting that like

00:28:44.960 you just said it reminded me of like when people start getting plastic surgery they all start looking

00:28:49.200 the same and it's like you almost start looking like your family yeah like i look like my mom and my dad

00:28:54.880 yeah and sometimes that's not a great thing but but at the end of the day like when i die i would

00:28:59.360 like to look like a krasnowski yeah i want to look family exactly i don't want to look like some pin

00:29:04.640 nose big lips kim kardashian head yeah i'm not a kardashian like it's okay it's okay to look like that

00:29:11.120 they don't really look like that either but you know but like it's okay to like it you should be proud of

00:29:16.880 your heritage and and how you look like your mom and your dad and and you know if you're adopted you're

00:29:21.280 not gonna look like the people that raised you but like you're gonna look like yourself you're 0.54

00:29:24.480 gonna look like yourself and that's beautiful and there's nothing wrong with doing things to enhance

00:29:29.040 your your features to make you feel more beautiful or more comfortable in your own skin i'm just saying

00:29:33.520 like you don't need to look like her you are you like you you're enough you're beautiful enough as

00:29:38.400 you are yeah like you know like taking good care of yourself and eating well eating well and even if

00:29:43.440 you want to get a little botox to like maintain yeah like god that you have good god yeah i'm not against it at

00:29:49.600 all i just don't think it's empowering for women to get plastic surgery to look like other women 1.00

00:29:54.240 exactly it's like to look like one specific woman exactly which is what everyone seems to be doing 0.85

00:29:58.640 yeah um i don't know yeah it's not cool also she also in the same article uh drew barrymore talks

00:30:03.840 about how she hasn't had sex in years yeah because she has young daughters at home and she realized that 0.98

00:30:09.120 sex is not love it's an expression of love and the next time she has sex she wants to be in love

00:30:13.040 with someone setting such a good example such an example i had no idea she was so based yeah no i mean 0.98

00:30:17.920 she's been in hollywood a long time she's seen oh yeah shit so i respect that respected you very 0.64

00:30:22.480 more so our next article speaking of respect yeah this one um so this is a fat positive sharon maxwell 0.79

00:30:31.360 talks about her atypical anorexia nervosa diagnosis and tess holiday shows her support so we've talked

00:30:36.480 about tess holiday yeah she's super anorexic whatever anyway uh let's talk about atypical yeah it 0.78

00:30:43.760 basically is all the symptoms typically associated with uh anorexia nervosa but some of these include

00:30:49.840 binge eating vomiting dizziness dehydration and fatigue and apparently it first appeared in 2013

00:30:55.360 and because health care providers saw a rising number of patients who all exhibited signs of

00:30:59.280 anorexia except none of them were significantly underweight yeah um i have a few issues with this

00:31:04.880 though do you have any issues with this i have mixed feelings on me too okay so

00:31:10.160 i don't know if you're calling yourself anorexic and then someone who's like genuinely like starving

00:31:16.800 themselves looks at someone like her who's calling herself anorexic i feel like that will probably

00:31:22.800 stir up more body dysmorphia it's like oh my god we're both anorexic yeah that's a good point i 0.86

00:31:26.640 haven't thought about that and also what i don't like about it is that she's anorexic but she's fat 1.00

00:31:30.560 positive and it's like okay you can suffer from this but that doesn't mean it's okay to be overweight

00:31:34.560 either like it's not healthy to be overweight as well so i i take issue with that because like

00:31:40.640 if you're suffering from this i sympathize but don't call yourself fat positive either yeah that

00:31:45.040 doesn't make any because it's like both are bad both are unhealthy um that's my my take so upon

00:31:51.600 reading this i was like oh i had an eating disorder i guess because when i was in high school i used to do

00:31:56.400 all these things oh yeah me too all of them yeah and it's like like binge eating um calorie counting yeah

00:32:03.200 i didn't vomit no like i never did you know i would i would look into diet pills like i took

00:32:08.400 diet pills at one point didn't last because they were expensive and did nothing and it made me feel

00:32:12.160 sick but um there are things that i did that would definitely be like oh i was anorexic but i was

00:32:18.240 heavier than i've ever been except for right now yeah um no i'm the exact same way i actually i just

00:32:23.840 kept gaining weight yeah yeah because i would literally starve myself all day at school literally eat

00:32:28.960 i had to eat one apple and then i would go home and binge eat on ice cream and chips because i was so

00:32:34.080 delirious and starving and it dinner had passed because i was like i'm not hungry yeah your tummy

00:32:38.960 talks exactly so i do understand how you could be overweight totally and have an eating disorder

00:32:46.080 but then at the same time some someone in the comments on this article actually pointed out they're

00:32:50.160 like if if calorie counting and skipping a meal counts as anorexia like 90 of women like literally 1.00

00:32:56.320 everyone exactly yeah like i when i'm before i was pregnant i intermittent fasted yeah me too

00:33:01.840 i do that too and it's the best way for me to maintain my weight yeah and it's like oh so i'm

00:33:06.480 anorexic yeah because i'm concerned about my weight like it's the it's i don't know quite how to feel

00:33:12.960 about it because i do empathize with this woman who has a terrible relationship with her body yeah no 1.00

00:33:18.000 it's it's hard something's going on there so it's not like oh you're fat you're fine no no it's almost

00:33:23.040 like you're super overweight you obviously have some messed up relationship with food

00:33:27.840 yeah and call it what you want it's so easy to have a terrible relationship with your body as a

00:33:32.320 woman i feel like because of these expectations that are thrust upon us at such a young age yeah but

00:33:39.200 i don't know like just yeah it irks me yeah it's really just the fat positive thing that really bugs

00:33:44.800 me it's like you you should embrace all bodies are different that's cool and people come in shapes

00:33:49.040 inside and she might be struggling on the inside totally like she might go home and vomit every

00:33:52.800 day and still be fat like i empathize with that but don't try to encourage people to be fat exactly

00:33:58.160 and she's also kind of glamorizing anorexia yeah because like you said it's like a person who's like

00:34:03.360 80 pounds and is actually starving themselves to death is going to see that and be like

00:34:07.040 okay well you're not like i need to go harder yeah exactly i just think it's really dangerous to

00:34:11.360 normalize this yeah i don't know i don't know and i it is i'm there's mixed feelings i have mixed feelings

00:34:16.800 about it too anyway uh but tess holiday is very anorexic that's what i took away from that 1.00

00:34:22.320 all right we got one something going on i don't know if it's she got something going on we got one

00:34:26.480 more for you speaking of something going on chloe kardashian details the plastic surgery procedure 0.92

00:34:32.880 she wants to get so while filming a confessional for the popular show uh she shared her wish to get

00:34:38.320 breast augmentation because she wants to be more like her sister so surprise surprise 1.00

00:34:42.320 super sad yeah it's it's extremely sad um i do appreciate that she's honest yeah i appreciate

00:34:49.040 that she um i i didn't know this but she has admitted to her one nose job yeah um which makes 0.98

00:34:55.280 me think that she's oh she's had a lot of other work had more have you seen like we should throw up a

00:34:59.600 side-by-side yes honestly yeah um but at least because i'm pretty sure kim recently said she hasn't 0.73

00:35:05.520 yeah i mean kim is just a bundle of mystery she's just a complete liar like i saw a picture someone 1.00

00:35:11.440 posted on reddit a picture of her when she was like 13 and she has a completely different nose 0.82

00:35:15.760 like she had a nose job but it was probably really young yeah like before she was famous because like 0.99

00:35:20.160 if you look back a couple years like that's not that different when she was a little girl she was

00:35:24.320 a gorgeous little girl she was so beautiful face oh yeah and so stunning she anyways the point is is

00:35:29.920 they've all had a lot of work done at least chloe is like yes i've had a nose job i'm thinking of

00:35:33.920 get about getting my boobs done but they've all done that yeah they'll lie about it and i also heard a 0.65

00:35:38.640 rumor about how kim actually had her her implants removed because it's like i guess she's trying to 0.99

00:35:45.280 be really skinny now yeah she's so tiny but um i'm just like so it's also sad because it's like the

00:35:50.240 trends change yeah and you don't need to you don't need to try to meet them or fit into that mold just

00:35:55.520 wear a different purse like get a little cute bag that's in style and then be trendy and wear like

00:36:01.440 a fuzzy bucket hat just get a nice day yeah you know i don't know eyebrow game up a little bit like

00:36:07.040 to change your actual body for trends right and the thing is if let's say women are getting breast 1.00

00:36:11.760 implants because kim kardashian got them whatever and then now kim's like no i'm not gonna do that 0.97

00:36:15.760 i'm gonna get them removed not everyone can afford to keep up with that like it's like we

00:36:19.120 will never be able to it's never enough the goalpost keeps moving it's like doug ford's ontario

00:36:24.000 you know so it's just don't try don't play the game don't even play the game i think that's the

00:36:29.200 sure i guess do you have any i wrote one thought is that this is so dumb yeah chloe kardashian so that's a great 0.52

00:36:36.160 point yeah i think that's the sure i think that's the sure we covered a lot today uh but i'm exhausted
