00:00:01.000 Campus Crusade for Christ or Crew is once again showing their progressive colors.
00:00:07.840 They sent out an email after the election to only their BIPOC staffers validating their
00:00:14.420 feelings of sadness that Donald Trump won.
00:00:17.260 We've got all of this and more on today's episode of Relatable.
00:00:20.480 It's brought to you by our friends at Good Ranchers.
00:00:23.220 Go to goodranchers.com, code Allie.
00:00:25.460 That's goodranchers.com, code Allie.
00:00:30.000 Hey guys, welcome to Relatable.
00:00:39.360 Happy Thursday.
00:00:40.260 Hope everyone has had a wonderful week so far.
00:00:42.660 Just a reminder, we've got these awesome new mugs and this yard sign, our first ever yard
00:00:48.180 sign.
00:00:49.340 God's eternal plan of redemption is always going off without a hitch.
00:00:54.220 On Monday, we're going to have this amazing conversation with a man who left the gay lifestyle,
00:01:01.420 repented, is following Christ.
00:01:04.280 And as we were talking about his story, I love our testimony episodes.
00:01:08.880 They're so edifying to me, but edifying to you guys as well.
00:01:13.080 And we were talking just about how God uses our stories, the testimonies of his people to
00:01:20.060 then change other people's hearts and minds and how we will never really know the full
00:01:25.720 effect and the impact of our courage in sharing our testimony until we get to glory.
00:01:31.280 And we will get to see revealed, I believe, this constellation of lives and souls and hearts
00:01:40.240 that were affected, changed by God through the power of the testimonies of his people.
00:01:47.360 And God's eternal plan of redemption is going off without a hitch because he chooses, doesn't
00:01:55.520 have to, but chooses to use the often unseen and unsung simple obedience of his people.
00:02:04.320 And that's also why we often say, do the next right thing in faith with excellence and for the
00:02:09.780 glory of God, because that's really how it works.
00:02:13.520 That's how it works in the life of the Christian.
00:02:16.080 We think about doing these big, grand things for God, these public displays of courage and
00:02:24.140 boldness, and maybe God is calling you to that, but maybe the next right thing is something
00:02:31.740 that's seemingly small, something that is private, something that no one will ever see except for
00:02:38.840 God.
00:02:39.280 But when it's done in faith, when it's done to the fullness of our capability, when it's
00:02:45.780 done for the glory of the Lord, it matters not just in the here and now, but in eternity.
00:02:53.680 There's an amazing book by Tim Keller, and I know we've got some disagreements with Tim
00:02:58.780 Keller, especially his commentary about politics in the years before he died.
00:03:03.720 But I learned a lot from Tim Keller, especially when I was in high school and college.
00:03:08.260 A lot of his work was very formative in my understanding of the fundamental tenets of Christianity and
00:03:14.240 shaping my worldview.
00:03:16.080 And Every Good Endeavor by Tim Keller changed how I saw work.
00:03:20.820 And not only work, it changed how I saw every single action that I do.
00:03:27.980 That every good endeavor that is done in faith and for the glory of God means something.
00:03:34.660 That is the beauty of the life of the believer, that nothing doesn't matter.
00:03:41.200 Everything matters.
00:03:42.980 And that should change how we live.
00:03:44.500 That should change our outlook.
00:03:47.860 It should give us hope.
00:03:48.740 It should give us joy, knowing that we operate as people who are looking forward to the full
00:03:55.420 culmination of Jesus's victory.
00:03:58.820 And so I just wanted to start the day with that encouragement.
00:04:02.300 We've talked about some difficult things this week, some sad things when we're talking about
00:04:07.680 Lake and Riley's murder and the trial that we just saw.
00:04:11.700 If you need a recap on that and the details, please go back and listen to or watch the past two
00:04:17.340 episodes. And in light of what we just said, I do just want to read you part of a journal entry
00:04:25.140 that was read yesterday in court before the announcement of the sentencing by her stepdad.
00:04:32.480 Because even though what I'm about to read you, which is a prayer or actually a letter that
00:04:38.220 Lake and Riley wrote to her future husband, even though it didn't manifest itself in an actual
00:04:46.100 future husband, I do believe that God is using something like this for his glory.
00:04:52.320 Something that otherwise would have always remained private is now being publicized and
00:04:58.140 he may be using it to change hearts and minds as we see just the sweetness and the gentleness
00:05:04.100 and the earnestness in this letter that Lake and Riley wrote to her future husband.
00:05:10.200 And if you're unfamiliar with this concept, this is something that I did.
00:05:13.900 I kept the journal. When I wrote letters and prayers for my future husband, this is something
00:05:18.400 that is, I would say, very prevalent in the church. And so her small group leader encouraged
00:05:23.120 her to write this letter. And this is just so, so sweet. So here's what her stepdad read yesterday.
00:05:30.120 To my future husband, I want you to know that I'm thinking about you. I'm working every day to
00:05:35.500 become the best wife I can be. I'm working through my current relationships to best prepare me for
00:05:40.720 ours and our kids. One day I'm focusing on God and what he defines as a faithful Christian life
00:05:47.120 so that I can best embody those characteristics. I pray that, you know, it is with my full faith and
00:05:53.020 trust in God that I know this relationship has been handcrafted by him. I pray that we continue to
00:05:59.000 glorify the Lord, prioritizing him in every aspect of our lives and raise our family, our future family
00:06:05.140 to be God-fearing Christians as well. I pray God is at the center of our relationship as it is a gift
00:06:10.760 from him. I thank him for you before I even know you and can't wait to love you in the best way I
00:06:15.840 know how for the rest of our lives. I pray you know and feel the importance of my love and hopes for
00:06:21.120 our relationship. No matter what challenges we face, I pray that our trust in God and love for one
00:06:27.400 another overrules the obstacle. May our relationship last forever. Your future wife, Laken. And of course,
00:06:36.380 Laken's life was ended when she was just 22 years old and our minds far too early. And of course,
00:06:43.860 very unjustly by a person who should not have been here in the first place. And as I said yesterday,
00:06:50.180 I just feel this burden to say I'm sorry to Laken because we failed her in so many ways. The people
00:06:57.420 who were tasked to protect our country, to keep us safe, didn't. They failed. And let that be a
00:07:04.980 reminder of the effect of policy, that the politicians you elect and the priorities they have, the policies
00:07:11.380 they believe in, they have a real effect on people. They have a real effect on people's lives.
00:07:17.300 Um, but I take comfort that somehow in the midst of this mess, that God is glorifying himself,
00:07:22.940 that God is going to use her faith and her joy to bring others to himself, because that's what he
00:07:31.340 does. What Satan means for evil, God uses for good. That's just how he works. He is in the business
00:07:38.280 of redemption. He is in the business of bringing beauty out of ashes. And I pray that. I pray that
00:07:46.380 he is glorified beyond what we can even comprehend. And I pray for her sweet parents, her mom. I saw the
00:07:56.020 body cam footage yesterday. It's just so devastating when they found out that she had been murdered. Oh
00:08:02.300 my goodness. Just absolutely devastating. I, I, I mean, I can imagine as a mom, just the pain of what
00:08:11.120 that was and the sadness that she displayed in the courtroom, please pray for her family. Please
00:08:17.520 pray for her friends who are understandably struggling and traumatized. Please pray that
00:08:23.160 they would have the peace that passes all understanding. Pray that this would inspire
00:08:29.260 courage in the American people, um, that it would inspire courage in our politicians to secure our border,
00:08:36.280 to enact righteous policy, which is to put the well-being of your citizens first. That is their
00:08:41.840 God-given responsibility. Pray that they do that. Pray for this person, Ibarra, who, while he showed
00:08:49.160 no remorse whatsoever that I could see in the courtroom, pray that God would turn his heart of
00:08:56.320 stone into a heart of flesh because God can do that. I mean, if Jesus can change the heart and the
00:09:02.400 life of Paul from someone who delighted in the murder of Christians to the greatest evangelist
00:09:06.680 that the world has ever seen, then he can change Jose Ibarra's heart. As I've said, he should get the
00:09:12.740 death penalty. Someone should share the gospel with him and he should have the opportunity to respond
00:09:18.820 and then he should be executed. He's not going to be, as we talked about yesterday, he is going,
00:09:24.580 he was sentenced to life without the possibility of parole. And it is unjust that he gets to live
00:09:33.000 out the remainder of his days until his natural death and Lakin does not. That is not justice.
00:09:40.320 That he gets an upgrade from his life in Venezuela funded by taxpayers, three free square meals a day for
00:09:49.560 him. Clothing, comforts, a place that is cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Not to say that
00:09:58.140 prison is easy, but it's probably easier than the streets of Venezuela. And so really he has been
00:10:03.960 given a great grace and she has had to suffer and her life ended prematurely while his will go on
00:10:12.660 presumably for decades. That is not justice. The God who is justice in Genesis 9, 6 says the death
00:10:19.380 penalty is the proportionate punishment for murder because we are made in God's image. And one day
00:10:27.680 Jesus is coming back and Psalm 37 tells us that he is going to do away with evil and evildoers. And
00:10:35.960 one day we will have no more injustice. One day we will have no more murder. We will have no more
00:10:42.060 trials. We will have no more tribulation. We won't have any sickness or sadness or oppression or
00:10:51.400 violence or injustice because we will live in the fullness of Jesus's rule and his victory. And so
00:10:58.220 let us have hope in that and let Lakin Riley's family have hope in that as well. Let me pause and
00:11:04.300 let me tell you about our first sponsor for the day and that is Good Ranchers. You guys know how much
00:11:09.220 we love Good Ranchers in the Stucky Home. We rely on it almost every night for the protein in our
00:11:16.080 healthy meals and I love their Better Than Organic chicken. I choose the non-pre-marinated kind just
00:11:22.240 because I like to decide the spices I put on my chicken. I use their ground beef probably the most.
00:11:28.600 It's just so versatile. You can use it in pasta. You can use it in tacos and enchiladas and in
00:11:36.580 a quesadillas if you can tell. I like Tex-Mex and Good Ranchers helps me with that. They've also got
00:11:42.200 amazing seafood, all kinds of stuff. All of it is from American Farms and Ranches. Also right now
00:11:48.680 if you buy any box, I encourage you to buy the Allie box because it's got all that stuff that I just
00:11:54.180 listed and even more in it. It's really just like the box for moms. But if you go to goodranchers.com
00:12:01.780 slash Allie, you can get a free Thanksgiving ham with your purchase of any box. And that's amazing
00:12:09.220 because that's like $110 value. So go to goodranchers.com, use code Allie at checkout. That's
00:12:14.200 goodranchers.com, code Allie. Okay, I want to talk about this crew email. Crew Campus Crusade for Christ.
00:12:25.340 We have talked about their leftward drift for a while. We talked about their curriculum that we got
00:12:31.160 access to where they were basically presenting theological liberalism, political liberalism as
00:12:38.200 a viable option for their ministry leaders. Things like pronoun politeness. They even presented
00:12:45.760 affirmation of transgenderism, not as Crew's own position, but as a position that some Christians
00:12:53.640 might hold. And of course, they have been very supportive of the social racial justice movement
00:13:00.540 over the past few years. And so there has absolutely been a progressive trajectory of
00:13:06.800 Crew for a while, which is really such a shame because it's an organization that has positively
00:13:11.280 changed very many lives. But after the election, they kind of played this mushy middle role that
00:13:17.800 they've been playing for a while, pretending that voting for Kamala Harris is like a viable,
00:13:24.460 okay option for Christians and that we should defer to the sadness of Christians and feel for
00:13:30.440 the sadness of Christians who are disappointed that Kamala Harris, who rabidly and enthusiastically
00:13:36.540 supported abortion through all nine months of pregnancy, lost. So here's the summary of what
00:13:42.860 went on. In response to the 2024 election results, Crew's Oneness and Diversity National Team sent a
00:13:48.780 letter to what is believed, based on which staff members did or did not receive it, to be their list of
00:13:54.580 minority and BIPOC staff members titled Oneness is a Truth and a Journey. The letter sought to help
00:14:00.460 them with the spectrum of feelings following Trump's victory, but mostly focused on feelings of anger and
00:14:08.680 grief. So the problem is first that they send it out to racial minorities only. And this is just
00:14:15.100 something that we see in the legacy of 2020. A lot of Christian leaders doing this, pretending that
00:14:22.060 black and brown Christians have to get one message and it's a message of comfort and I would say
00:14:29.900 coddling and then the white members have to get another message. And that is a message of
00:14:35.960 you bear all of the sins and the responsibilities of everyone who has roughly the same skin color
00:14:42.220 as you, not just those who live today, but also those who lived 200 years ago, whether you were related
00:14:49.180 to them or not. And so on the one hand, you are giving white people all of the agency and
00:14:55.340 responsibility in the world. And then you're giving black and brown people no agency whatsoever, not
00:15:01.160 only for what their ancestors did or didn't do, but even for what they do or do not do, which of course
00:15:08.640 is just like not the gospel. The truth is, is that both sides need to hear you are responsible
00:15:13.480 for your actions. You are not responsible for the sins of your ancestors. You're not responsible
00:15:20.160 even for the victories and successes of your ancestors. You are not judged by these things,
00:15:27.300 but you are judged by your own heart. And are you regenerate by grace through faith in Christ or not?
00:15:36.080 You don't carry the burden of the actions of your fathers and grandfathers. That is the truth.
00:15:45.020 But unfortunately, there were disparate messages, two different gospels that were presented to these
00:15:49.840 crowds by Christians who claim to be building the bridge and claim to be advocates of racial
00:15:57.640 reconciliation. And the idea was that racial reconciliation could only be accomplished if white
00:16:03.960 people bore the sins of people who looked like them 200 years ago. And black people had no
00:16:10.780 responsibility to take ownership of their own sins or their own bitterness or their own anger or their
00:16:20.880 own resentment. And that was just never going to work. That was never, ever going to work. I've told you
00:16:27.320 the rules in the Facebook group, Be the Bridge, which basically told white people to sit down and shut up.
00:16:33.500 And I've given the specific rules in my book, Toxic Empathy, you can read. So I'm not just
00:16:38.340 making this up. And I've written about it, talked about it before, but said that, you know, black and
00:16:44.020 brown people, you can cuss and wail at white people, but white people, you can't respond in kind. You
00:16:50.480 can't defend yourself. You can't say that you're not racist or that you did not intend something
00:16:56.240 racially insensitive in what you said. You just have to take it. And black and brown people,
00:17:02.060 you can say whatever you want to. That was some people's definition of racial reconciliation. And it's
00:17:07.620 all hogwash. It is literally of Satan. That is a doctrine of demons. And I even heard the head of
00:17:17.400 Be the Bridge. One time she gave an analogy. Her name is Latasha Morrison. She said, you know,
00:17:22.780 if you wrecked my car, I expect you to pay for it. Well, I didn't wreck your car. None of us did.
00:17:33.340 So none of us are responsible to pay for it. That's the whole idea of reparations that somehow
00:17:38.980 white people, all white people of varying shades and varying backgrounds and varying ethnicities are
00:17:45.020 responsible to pay money to people who are black or brown of all different backgrounds and nationalities
00:17:52.620 and ethnicities. Like by what standard? You're not going to find a biblical standard of that. So
00:17:57.320 anyway, I know that was kind of like a tangent unrelated to CRU specifically, but I just wanted
00:18:03.220 to give you context for what that whole movement looked like, because it seems like CRU is still kind
00:18:07.580 of playing a part in that idea. Oneness and diversity team is CRU's effort to bring in staff members that
00:18:13.780 represent diversity and ethnicity, gender, and generation. Their website reads, while real
00:18:20.260 differences exist among Christians about how to approach questions of race, ethnicity, and culture,
00:18:25.180 we believe there is much more that unites us as followers of Jesus. Oneness in our ethnic
00:18:29.980 and cultural diversity reflects God's heart. And the Bible provides the categories we need to
00:18:35.400 navigate historic and contemporary challenges related to ethnicity, culture, and race. At the same time,
00:18:41.780 the oneness and diversity presentation at the 2022 CRU all-staff conference also detailed their
00:18:47.140 strategy for multiplying BIPOC and female leaders. So they are incorporating DEI, racial and gender
00:18:58.660 quotas in order to reflect more diversity. It's interesting how diversity only applies to skin color,
00:19:08.320 it seems. Like, white people are diverse. Black people are diverse in and of themselves. We all
00:19:15.120 come from different backgrounds, different nationalities, different ancestors, different
00:19:19.320 people, different socioeconomic classes. Why does diversity, just of melanin count, carry so much more
00:19:26.680 weight? Obviously, it has carried weight historically, unfortunately, in certain forms of institutionalized
00:19:33.540 discrimination. But when it comes to biblical reconciliation and oneness, like, we need the
00:19:40.740 gospel, which tears down all different kinds of walls of hostility. But this DEI quota nonsense
00:19:47.580 is not going to get us there. So here's the post-election letter to this group that CRU sent.
00:19:54.900 Donald Trump's election for the second time has likely brought up a number of feelings
00:19:58.820 among many of you. We want to acknowledge the range of feelings that exist right now,
00:20:04.140 no matter who you voted for or didn't vote for. What you felt since Tuesday night is valid.
00:20:10.280 Why? See, this is also just psychotherapy nonsense, this idea that all feelings are valid.
00:20:16.280 It's not true. Some feelings are valid. All feelings exist if you have them, but they're not all valid.
00:20:21.900 Valid means rooted in truth. If you are seething with rage that Kamala Harris didn't become president,
00:20:27.120 I don't think that's a valid feeling. You might feel frustration or disappointment. You might feel
00:20:32.660 relieved. You might feel fear, betrayal, anger, or a number of any other emotions. These are all real
00:20:39.760 emotions, and we encourage you not to minimize what you're feeling, but to process them in healthy
00:20:44.880 ways. Sometimes the best way to process an emotion is to tell it to submit to Jesus, to say,
00:20:50.460 okay, my emotions might not be rooted in truth. My emotions might exist, but they shouldn't guide me,
00:20:57.840 and they don't need to be stewed on. That is the problem with SEL today. It makes us think too much
00:21:03.360 about our emotions to our own detriment and the detriment of others. Talk to safe people about
00:21:09.240 your feelings. Safe people. Journal and pray. Unplug from social media. That's not the worst piece of
00:21:16.840 advice ever. We are one in Christ and also continually pursuing oneness with our fellow
00:21:21.740 believers through the power of the Holy Spirit. The journey is not always easy, and right now it's
00:21:27.720 flat out difficult. The letter also points to a devotional written by their spiritual care
00:21:33.120 coordinators titled Heart Examination. The devotional begins with a Bible passage on grief,
00:21:37.840 Isaiah 53, 3, grounding and deep breaths. And then a message on grief and anger. The letter ends,
00:21:45.840 we love you and are in this with all of you. So the assumption there is that a tragedy has befallen
00:21:54.220 the black and brown members of Campus Crusade for Christ and to validate and affirm and even deepen
00:22:03.200 their anger and sadness. I would not be opposed to a letter sent to everyone saying, no matter how you
00:22:11.500 feel about this election, our hope is in Christ and he rules. And that's what we are looking forward to.
00:22:20.280 I mean, I even think they would say like, we celebrate that someone is in office who will protect
00:22:27.040 our border. We celebrate someone who is in office who will allow states to pass laws that protect the
00:22:33.880 lives of unborn children. We celebrate that the person who wanted to institutionalize men and girls
00:22:40.760 bathrooms and sports and locker rooms lost. We celebrate the fact that the woman who believed
00:22:46.960 in institutionalizing taxpayer funded abortion through all nine months lost. Like, I think that
00:22:52.680 those would be biblical positions. I don't even think those would be primarily political. I'd be
00:22:56.560 fine with that. But even if they didn't want to go there, either no email at all, or just an email
00:23:03.240 saying, Jesus is king, and we celebrate him for that. And like, we are moving forward with the mission of
00:23:11.180 crew. I think that would be fine. But basically, validating people's mourning that the person who enabled
00:23:21.080 Lake and Riley's murder and gleefully prosecuted pro-life journalists and tried to force pro-life
00:23:30.600 pregnancy centers to advertise for abortion laws, like, I just don't see the Christian basis for
00:23:38.040 something like that. I simply do not. They have a history of problematic things when it comes to this
00:23:48.860 oneness and diversity, ethnic minority and BIPOC ministry fund. They created this ethnic ministry
00:23:59.740 fund crew did where donors can specifically give money to fund the ministry of ethnic minorities and
00:24:05.940 BIPOC staff. This was contentious because it allowed minority staff members to receive supplemental funding
00:24:11.940 rather than being required to raise all their own support, regardless of their socioeconomic status
00:24:19.180 or location. So, for example, a white staff member from a poor community with, on average,
00:24:25.160 less wealthy donors might struggle more to raise support than a black staff member from a rich suburb
00:24:31.140 only because the staff member was black. So he got that supplemental funding because of this
00:24:38.320 ethnic diversity fund, even if he was rich, even if it was one of Michelle and Barack Obama's daughters
00:24:46.640 that decided that they were going to work for crew, like, they would get this supplemental funding,
00:24:52.160 whereas the poor guy from Appalachia who didn't have any rich donors to go to for money, he wouldn't
00:24:58.360 get the supplemental funding. So this is what I'm talking about when I am describing the partiality
00:25:04.140 that crew is playing a role in, a partiality that God hates, by the way. God hates partiality.
00:25:11.120 The website says partners of the ethnic minority fund play a crucial role in ensuring minority staff
00:25:16.020 members are fully supported. Help us ensure we have the right ministers in place to serve people
00:25:24.300 from diverse backgrounds. I'm not saying actually that there is not a need.
00:25:34.140 For someone who looks like a community to go there and to be their minister, I do think there's
00:25:40.680 something to that. We can all say that there shouldn't be, but I think that's just kind of
00:25:45.240 human nature that maybe a black minister would be able to effectively minister to a black community
00:25:51.480 better. Let me say that again. Maybe a black minister would be able to better minister to
00:26:00.700 a black community. I think there's something to that, but you're basically punishing white people
00:26:07.560 who want to be a part of your ministry by not giving them extra funding. And I just don't think
00:26:13.480 that's good. I don't think that that is the impartiality that God calls Christians to.
00:26:21.020 All right. We've got a little bit more on this in just a second. Let me pause and tell you about
00:26:25.980 our next sponsor for the day, and that is Magic Spoon. So if you love cereal like Chief Related Bro and I
00:26:32.560 do, but you don't want to be eating all the sugar and all the carbs and all of that every time you
00:26:38.960 want a bowl of cereal, then you need to check out Magic Spoon. They have turned their super popular
00:26:45.200 cereal into high protein treats that are light, crispy, and taste just like those classic
00:26:50.420 crunchy cereal bars. Magic Spoon's brand new treats are so delicious. They've already become
00:26:56.220 one of my favorite snacks. They are awesome. And I love their cereal too. I love mixing like
00:27:03.780 their chocolate cereal with peanut butter. It tastes so good. The cereal has 13 grams of protein,
00:27:11.180 zero grams of sugar, four grams of net carbs. Magic Spoon's brand new treats are crispy,
00:27:16.280 crunchy, airy, easy way to get 12 grams of protein on the go. If you go to magicspoon.com
00:27:24.780 slash relatable, you can get $5 off your next order. Magicspoon.com slash relatable.
00:27:35.520 We're just going to end on a little bit of a lighthearted note today, and this has to do with
00:27:40.520 Taylor Swift, our girl Taylor Swift. Just kidding. I don't really mean our girl. Brie is not even
00:27:47.900 in the room right now. So she doesn't have to know that you and I see the problems with Taylor Swift
00:27:55.940 and the negative influence that she has on tens of millions of young women, especially with her like
00:28:03.900 innocent persona. We understand it's very damaging, but she did suggest this story because
00:28:10.240 she can, even though she is a Swifty herself, she can laugh at the ridiculous progressive things
00:28:16.280 that she does or the things that happen at her concert. So she kicked off the final leg of her
00:28:21.680 long running heiress tour at the Rogers Center in Toronto, Canada on Thursday, before she hit the stage,
00:28:29.060 this massive sign, we'll put the picture up, appeared on the main screen, which read this.
00:28:34.120 We acknowledge that we are performing today at Rogers Center, located on Treaty 13 lands,
00:28:42.040 traditional territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit. What? And the, is that really what it says
00:28:50.640 of the Credit and the traditional home of many other nations, including the Anishinaabeq,
00:28:57.120 the Haudenosaunee, the Chippewa, and the Wendat peoples. We acknowledge the First Nations,
00:29:05.840 Inuit and Metis peoples, whose original and treaty territories we stand upon. And then she comes out
00:29:15.840 and she says, let's get started. Like, it's just so ridiculous. It's just a giant virtue signal. This
00:29:21.960 doesn't do anything. And maybe that's why they do it because they know that it's going to save them
00:29:30.400 some, you know, some criticism by doing this kind of thing. Look, every single land on earth has been
00:29:38.320 conquered at some point. The Indian tribes were warring each other long before Christopher Columbus
00:29:46.780 came to America. They were stealing land from each other in very torturous and barbarous and violent
00:29:54.280 ways. By the way, this idea that the indigenous people to the United States were these, like,
00:30:03.060 peaceful groups that just honored each other's land and their territories is, is just not true.
00:30:11.840 America was just another conqueror in a long line of conquerors. What difference does it really make
00:30:21.280 if tribes are warring against each other for their land and a foreign invader comes in and wars for
00:30:27.640 their land? I mean, it's not Christopher Columbus's fault that they were very, that they were far more
00:30:36.020 equipped than the indigenous people. And so I just find this acknowledgement quite, quite silly. This
00:30:44.800 idea that we've heard over and over again, that we have to give land back to the indigenous people.
00:30:51.240 Well, unfortunately, the reservations are some of the poorest and most crime-ridden, dangerous places
00:30:57.580 in the United States. And you know who suffers from that? Women and children. Because alcoholism,
00:31:05.820 the drug use, the abuse, the driving while intoxicated that happens in many of these
00:31:12.220 reservations, especially in places like Oklahoma, it's tragic. I mean, the child abuse is rampant in
00:31:18.980 many of these places because they are not run by the same laws. They are not given the same kind of
00:31:24.300 accountability as people who live outside of those reservations. That's something that the Supreme
00:31:29.240 Court decided several years ago. And that was just a social justice move that they hoped would
00:31:34.480 appease the indigenous people. And it's actually made their lives a lot worse. And that's because
00:31:40.860 social justice kills and children are always the unconsenting subjects of progressive social
00:31:45.780 experiments. So on the altar of social justice, the lives and safety of kids and women on these
00:31:52.600 reservations have been risked. You should go back and listen to a couple of years ago. I did an episode
00:31:58.780 about this with Naomi Riley, and we'll put the link in the description where she did a lot of research.
00:32:04.240 What is really happening on these reservations? And like this rhetoric that, well, we just need to
00:32:11.940 give more and more land back. Like, is that really benefiting these indigenous people? No, I certainly don't
00:32:18.500 think so. And I don't think that the data bears that out. So just more silly virtue signaling by
00:32:24.460 Taylor Swift. Brie is back. Oh, we only had positive things to say about Taylor Swift. Brie, don't
00:32:30.880 worry. We didn't say anything bad about her. Don't tell her. Okay, last sponsor for the day before we
00:32:37.720 head out. America's Christian Credit Union is an amazing company that wants to partner with godly
00:32:44.640 people like you to be your financial service provider. They are also partnering with Every Life to
00:32:49.840 sponsor diapers to new moms who are choosing life. ACCU will donate a box of Every Life diapers to a

00:33:19.660 Union is federally insured by the NCUA. All right, guys, just a reminder, we will not be here next week.
00:33:32.500 We will have a new episode on Monday, but then we might have a replay on Tuesday. I can't remember if
00:33:37.860 we decided on that, but then no episode Wednesday or Thursday, and then we will be back the next week.
00:33:44.520 But the Relatable Crew is taking a little bit of a break. If you are looking for something to read
00:33:49.240 over your holiday breaks, then check out Toxic Empathy. It's on Audible, read by yours truly,
00:33:55.500 but it's also on Amazon. I'm very grateful that it was a New York Times bestseller. I underestimated
00:34:03.360 how relevant everything in the book would still be after the election. We're getting a lot of
00:34:08.100 propaganda, a lot of guilt trips from your progressive or mushy middle friends about why
00:34:13.220 you voted for Donald Trump. Well, if you want to be able to defend your beliefs, your conservative
00:34:17.920 Christian worldview, then please get Toxic Empathy. And also, I encourage you to get You're Not Enough,
00:34:23.280 and that's okay. That's a more theological book, but I think it lays a really good basis before you read
00:34:28.960 Toxic Empathy. And it's also a good one, a good starter for those who maybe aren't where you are
00:34:35.940 politically yet. You're trying to get them to kind of shift their thinking just about the world and
00:34:41.140 themselves and morality. I would encourage my pink book first. You're Not Enough, and that's okay.
00:34:46.320 All of them, both of them are available wherever books are sold. Okay, guys, I am thankful for you.
00:34:53.120 I will be thanking God for you guys over Thanksgiving break. This has been just an
00:34:59.320 incredible year. So much has happened. We've grown so much, and it's all because of the grace of God
00:35:05.020 and y'all. So thank you for always sharing the arrows with me, for your encouragement,
00:35:09.700 for your prayers, and for your love. I've got the best audience in the world, and I'm just praying
00:35:14.000 that you would have a safe and wonderful, healthy, and peaceful Thanksgiving. See you guys when we get back.
00:35:19.680 See you guys next week.
