Summary

Should Christians celebrate Halloween? Is it a Christian holiday? What does the Bible say about Halloween and what does it mean to be a Christian on that day? And is it even a holiday at all? In this episode of Relatable, I talk about what I think about Halloween, why I don t think it should be celebrated, and why I think it's not a big deal.

00:00:00.000 Hey guys, welcome to Relatable. Happy Thursday. If you're watching on YouTube and you've got
00:00:13.460 deja vu because I'm in the same shirt that I was yesterday. Yes, I am. I am. It's Carly
00:00:19.920 Jean Los Angeles, by the way. If you're looking for a great business to support with great
00:00:24.500 clothes, you should definitely go to CarlyJeanLosAngeles.com. I love them and I love their clothes.
00:00:29.680 The reason I'm wearing the same shirt is because I'm recording this on Wednesday and I didn't have
00:00:34.840 time because we're doing a quick turnaround thing. But today we are going to talk about
00:00:40.420 Halloween. Should Christians celebrate Halloween? Now, I did answer this question. I think it was
00:00:45.520 back in 2019. I actually interviewed my mom. Now that was back when Relatable literally, wow,
00:00:51.020 we've come a long way. We were in my living room like without any lights or anything like that.
00:00:57.220 We just used the brilliant light of day. And I sat on my couch and I don't even know if we like
00:01:01.760 passed between my mom and me to like a microphone. I don't even know how it worked. But you guys loved
00:01:08.020 the episode because my mom is awesome and she's super creative. And we talked about different ways
00:01:13.020 to share the gospel on Halloween. And I'm going to talk a little bit more about that today. But I want
00:01:19.460 to make sure that I give air to the different perspectives about Halloween because I do understand
00:01:25.620 that among faithful Christians, there are different ways to look at this, or at least there are
00:01:29.960 different ways that Christians do look at this. And I'm not saying all three are valid or I shouldn't
00:01:36.820 say that, but that all three are right or all three are equally biblical. But these are all three
00:01:43.600 representative, I think, of what a lot of Christians think. And maybe there's some fourth option out
00:01:49.060 there. But these are the three that I could really boil it down to. After we talk about that,
00:01:53.600 I will answer some questions. I really wanted to dive into the Reformation today because October
00:02:00.860 31st is also Reformation Day. I will touch on it a little bit, but I don't have time to get all into
00:02:07.440 that today. Maybe I'll talk about it on Monday if you guys want me to. But we've like really kind of
00:02:11.540 taken a break off of heavy news this week. And so if you want me to talk about more COVID stuff on
00:02:16.620 Monday, I'll also do that. Just let me know. All right, let's look at these three perspectives that I
00:02:20.960 think represent what Christians think about Halloween. So there's one way to look at Halloween.
00:02:25.380 The first way is who the heck cares? Who cares about Halloween? There are bigger fish to fry. There are
00:02:29.620 bigger things to think about. There are bigger problems that we are facing. There are bigger
00:02:34.060 theological disagreements that we have, bigger things to tackle. You might think, you know, I celebrated
00:02:39.640 Halloween as a kid. I turned out fine. Let's not be fuddy-duddy, fundamentalist. I'm going to let my
00:02:46.340 child trick-or-treat, dress up like a vampire, whatever. It's really not a big deal. And maybe
00:02:52.220 you really enjoy all of that stuff. And so you don't think that it's a problem. The second way
00:02:57.980 that I think that we can think about this is that you could shield your child from Halloween as
00:03:05.240 completely as possible. And you could say, well, it's a night to worship Satan. It's a glorification
00:03:09.980 of death, of decay, of darkness, of despair. And there is no benefit to my child's heart,
00:03:19.420 mind, or spirit to introduce them to that kind of glorification. You could think that. You could say
00:03:26.260 no trick-or-treating, no acknowledgement of the day. It's just another damn fall. We don't even say
00:03:31.420 the word Halloween. We call it, you know, harvest or autumn or whatever. And you might go look at
00:03:37.080 pumpkins, but that's it. Or better yet, you just say, nope, this is Reformation Day. It's only about
00:03:43.820 Martin Luther publicizing his 95 theses, his complaints against the Catholic Church, and the
00:03:49.660 Protestant Reformation was born with Reformation Day. And maybe that's the only thing that you even
00:03:55.940 acknowledge that is special about October 31st. Now, there is a third way, I think. And this is the
00:04:03.660 way that I tend to lean. A nuanced approach, if you will, as much as I think that that word sometimes
00:04:10.140 is overused and misused by people who are just confused. Nuance in itself isn't bad. My stance
00:04:16.020 on nuance is that we should always be pursuing the truth. Sometimes the truth is nuanced. Sometimes
00:04:20.560 it's not. But if you're pursuing nuance, then sometimes you miss that which is true. That's maybe
00:04:25.460 another episode for another day. But here's my more nuanced approach to Halloween. Halloween is
00:04:31.980 a celebration of fear of death and of decay. It is. It is not a celebration of that which is good and
00:04:39.840 right and true. Now, whether or not it is actively Satan worship, I'm not so sure about. I do think
00:04:47.040 it's a glorification of that which is not good and right and true. And there are a few passages that
00:04:52.660 speak to this. I'll just read two specifically. One is Ephesians 5, 7 through 11, and verses 15 through
00:04:59.080 16 that says, therefore, do not become partners with them. He's talking about the sons of disobedience
00:05:05.700 that Ephesians 2 talks about. It says, we were all once sons of disobedience. We were all under the
00:05:10.720 authority of the prince of the power of the air of Satan. And Ephesians 5, 7 is saying, therefore,
00:05:16.860 do not become partners with them. For at one time, you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord.
00:05:24.040 We also talked about this on Tuesday. Walk as children of light. No, on Monday. Walk as children
00:05:30.700 of light, for the fruit of light is found in all that is good and right and true. And try to discern
00:05:36.060 what is pleasing to the Lord. Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose
00:05:41.340 them. Well, carefully then how you walk, not as unwise, but as wise, making the best use of the time
00:05:47.900 because the days are evil. So I think it's a good question. Is it the best use of my family's time,
00:05:53.460 of my child's mind? Is it the best stewardship of their heart and mind and spirit to introduce them
00:05:59.220 to what is incontrovertibly dark? Then there's Philippians 4, 8 through 9. Finally, brothers,
00:06:06.980 whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely,
00:06:12.120 whatever is commendable. If there's any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about
00:06:17.340 these things. What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things,
00:06:23.640 and the God of peace will be with you. So I'm just speaking honestly that I don't necessarily apply
00:06:30.280 that standard to every part of my life. Like there was a time when I would listen to murder podcasts and
00:06:35.760 mystery podcasts that were very dark and made me very afraid. And what's the point of that? Really,
00:06:41.640 like, what is the, what benefit does that have to my mind? And yet I did that. We were watching
00:06:47.040 you, that very scary, like serial murder series. We're not watching it anymore, but we were watching
00:06:54.280 it. That does not meet the standard of Philippians 4, 8 through 9. The Sopranos, one of my favorite
00:07:00.780 series of all times, definitely does not meet the standard of Philippians 4, 8 through 9. So I don't
00:07:06.260 want it to sound like I am, well, I guess I just want to talk about the fact that I don't apply
00:07:11.940 that perfectly. However, that is the standard that we are to strive for. And I'm not sure if
00:07:19.200 celebrating all the death and decay that Halloween represents meets that standard either. And I think
00:07:24.940 we should all be asking for the power to resist any form of the glorification of darkness and sin.
00:07:32.860 That cuts out a lot of the content that we consume. Now, I still think with those verses in mind and
00:07:41.440 what Halloween is and represents in mind, I still think there is a way to take part in some of the fun
00:07:49.140 of the day without celebrating darkness. Christians are in the business of redemption. We are in the
00:07:56.060 business of making right and good the things which the world has made bad. Now, not everything I don't
00:08:04.160 think can be repurposed because maybe it's a sin in and of itself. It's wrong. There's just no way to
00:08:11.980 try to redefine it or finagle it so that it is different and glorifying to God. And I've also talked
00:08:19.600 about in the cases of things like the Enneagram and yoga. These are two things that I don't take
00:08:24.620 part in. And my mind has changed in that over time. I didn't used to feel that way because I feel that
00:08:31.440 it's very hard to separate those two tools from its spiritual origins and intent. I will link both
00:08:39.020 episodes I've done on those two things where I've thoroughly explained my change of heart and change
00:08:44.200 of mind according to scripture on them. I do hold those views confidently yet loosely, not believing
00:08:52.780 that these are salvation affecting issues. And yet I was convinced through prayer in my reading of
00:09:00.040 scripture that these are not things that I want to repurpose or redeem. But there are parts of Halloween
00:09:08.280 that I do believe can be redeemed and repurposed because, for example, candy is not glorification
00:09:15.960 of darkness. Many costumes are not glorification of darkness. So can your child dress up in, say,
00:09:23.140 a poodle skirt, eat candy with her friends, and maybe trick-or-treat at the houses that don't have
00:09:28.440 a bunch of blood and, you know, like gravestones and zombies and skeletons all over them? I think so.
00:09:35.860 Or depending on how old your kids are, maybe this is an opportunity to talk to your kids about death
00:09:42.220 and why we don't glorify it, but also why it's nothing to fear for the Christian. It's certainly
00:09:49.480 an opportunity. And not every aspect of Halloween is glorifying the darkness. Not everything violates
00:09:56.980 that Philippians 4 passage. Now, I don't have any judgment or any condemnation against parents who say,
00:10:03.620 you know what, it's just too hard to try to kind of separate my kids from the darkness that it represents.
00:10:11.540 And so it's just easier if we don't celebrate it at all. If we don't go trick-or-treating, if we don't
00:10:16.000 even talk about it, that's fine. Like, I don't have any judgment about the second option that I was
00:10:22.540 talking about. I do think that there's a problem with saying that there's nothing wrong with Halloween,
00:10:27.340 that we have no responsibility to protect our child's eyes and mind, and that we should not be
00:10:33.360 at least trying to reach the standard through the power of the Holy Spirit of Philippians 4. I think
00:10:38.500 the time has come and gone for parents to be apathetic and flippant really about anything that
00:10:42.960 their child consumes. And it's not only social media and places like YouTube or, you know, school where kids
00:10:50.480 can be consuming harmful content. It can even be in, again, the glorification and the normalization
00:10:58.200 of the demonic, satanic, and the dark. Last year, we saw it as an opportunity to share the gospel with
00:11:07.240 people who came to our house. So we put the candy in little baggies with a strip of paper with a Bible
00:11:12.980 verse and the gospel on it. My mom has done the same thing in the past. She also makes these awesome
00:11:18.100 signs with Bible verses that she turns into a pun, like, whosoever calls upon the name of the Lord
00:11:26.700 and will be saved and, like, oh, dry bones, hear the word of the Lord. And so she's made—she's super
00:11:35.300 creative. She's very artsy. I am not—I did not inherit that from my mom, but she has had these signs
00:11:41.340 made that are so awesome. And I'll post them on Instagram so you can see for yourself. Maybe you can
00:11:47.220 get inspired. Those of you who are artistic out there, you can put those signs in your yard. Some
00:11:52.340 of you have since you listened to the podcast that I did with my mom a couple years ago. You made your
00:11:57.500 own signs, and that's just warmed my heart. It's warmed my mom's heart, too. So I think that Halloween
00:12:02.140 can be an opportunity. It can be an opportunity to talk about the gospel and the lack of fear of death
00:12:07.500 that the gospel gives us with our kids. It can be an opportunity to share the gospel, to show
00:12:12.360 hospitality and generosity to your neighbors. But I don't think that it's necessary to be
00:12:18.220 hospitable and generous and share the gospel with your neighbors if you're someone who doesn't want
00:12:21.880 to take a part in it. I am all for just the fall festival, the harvest season, the pumpkin season,
00:12:27.820 and all of that. I think that's fine. What I do think is wrong, what I do think is unbiblical,
00:12:33.840 is simply being laissez-faire about it and not thinking that the demonic has any power and not
00:12:40.360 thinking that even decor, no, I don't think it's going to, you know, like that your child is going
00:12:46.600 to become demon pizzazz or that they're not going to be saved or anything like that. I don't think
00:12:50.980 that if they see Halloween, scary Halloween costumes and decorations. That's not what I'm
00:12:57.180 saying. But I am saying that it's a bigger deal than I think a lot of Christians think and that we
00:13:03.380 should just be thinking twice about it. And rather than just doing exactly what the secular world
00:13:07.900 does when it comes to decor, when it comes to dressing up, when it comes to trick-or-treating,
00:13:12.860 let's at least take this as an opportunity to show some redemption and to share the gospel and
00:13:17.780 share generosity with the people around us. I also am super excited to celebrate Reformation Day.
00:13:23.440 I don't know what we're going to do, but you guys know I'm like a hardcore Protestant. And every time
00:13:30.100 I get, uh, every time I put a question box up on Instagram, I love, love, love my Catholic
00:13:36.720 friends, by the way. And I love all of my Catholic listeners, but I just like love the Reformation.
00:13:42.360 I, you know, I've totally, uh, I adhere to reformed theology, five solas, all that we've done
00:13:49.380 episodes on all of that good stuff. And so I love Reformation Day. I love learning about the
00:13:54.680 Reformation. I don't remember really learning about it growing up, but I love the history of
00:13:59.820 Protestantism. And every time I put a question box up, I get a question from a beloved Catholic
00:14:05.400 follower or listener saying, why aren't you Catholic? It's because I'm Protestant. Uh,
00:14:10.420 so I will talk about that more on Monday. If that's something that you guys are interested in,
00:14:16.520 don't hate me Catholic listeners. I'm sorry. Some of you have even asked me to come to mass with you.
00:14:22.640 I've turned down your invitation, although I appreciate it. There are so many Catholic thinkers
00:14:27.660 and writers and influencers and commentators and pro-life advocates and listeners and followers
00:14:32.560 who I really love. So no hard feelings, but I am a Protestant because I believe in Protestantism,
00:14:40.400 namely justification by faith alone. Again, another podcast for another day. So I think we will,
00:14:47.120 I think we will celebrate, uh, some Reformation Day, some Reformation Day stuff. Maybe, um, I don't know
00:14:56.060 if I come up with any ideas for how to celebrate it. I'll let you know, but I'm sure there are some
00:15:00.160 ideas out there. I've seen some stuff on social media over the past couple of years for what
00:15:03.840 people do to celebrate it with their child. And so I think that'd be fun. Like, I think churches
00:15:08.220 should do that. Protestant churches should be doing that. Like you should have like a Reformation
00:15:12.600 celebration. It is a day that is totally worth celebration for Protestant churches. And so, uh,
00:15:19.060 I think that churches should facilitate that more. Again, I don't even remember hearing about it or
00:15:23.200 learning about it growing up. Why isn't that a holiday for Protestant Christians? Like,
00:15:27.660 come on. So maybe we should start that. Maybe relatable listeners should start that.
00:15:33.580 All right. So I'm going to take a few questions from you guys. Uh, you sent me some on Instagram,
00:15:38.560 so I'm going to take a few minutes. This is going to be a shorter episode, right? At 30 minutes. Um,
00:15:44.040 and so for the next few minutes, I'm going to be taking some of the questions that you guys sent me,
00:15:51.600 sent me all kinds of questions on Instagram. I guarantee you, one of the questions is,
00:15:56.160 why are you, why are you Protestant? Uh, I won't be answering that since I just addressed it, but
00:16:00.960 okay. Someone asked me first trimester nausea all day, every day. What helped you? Oh, I'm so
00:16:06.500 sorry about the nausea, but congratulations. Congratulations on being pregnant. It gets
00:16:11.620 better. So I didn't have a ton of nausea, either pregnancy. I did just like not feel great. It's kind
00:16:20.280 of that, Oh, I don't really want to eat and I don't really want coffee. And if I don't want coffee,
00:16:24.300 that's kind of like, that's a big deal. That's a big deal. And so I could kind of tell that I was
00:16:30.360 pregnant maybe a little bit before I knew I was pregnant. Actually, I don't know. I took a pregnancy
00:16:34.340 test the second time, like right at four weeks. So I didn't really have a moment to realize I was
00:16:39.160 pregnant before I knew I was pregnant, but I remember not feeling great for me that lasts until
00:16:44.460 like 16 weeks. It might not last that long for you. It could be after 12 weeks that you feel better.
00:16:49.320 It could be like 20 weeks. Some people feel bad the whole time. Most people don't. Most people feel
00:16:54.500 much better after the first trimester. And really for me, like the best weeks of pregnancy were
00:16:59.320 probably from like 25 to 32 weeks. Then you start getting uncomfortable. Then the waddle comes on
00:17:07.980 and then you can't turn over in the middle of the night without waking up. So that discomfort comes
00:17:13.520 like towards the end of the last semester. Then there's a lot of discomfort in the first and the
00:17:17.480 first trimester. But then, you know, right there in the middle, right there in the middle, it is,
00:17:23.120 it's better. So at least have that to look forward to. I really like Pinkstork products. They don't
00:17:28.980 sponsor the show, unfortunately, but I really like all their products. I use their prenatal vitamins.
00:17:35.560 Your prenatal vitamins also might be making you nauseous. So make sure these don't make me nauseous.
00:17:40.680 I like Pinkstork prenatal vitamins. They're postnatal vitamins. They also have these little lozenges
00:17:45.280 that are supposed to help with morning sickness that I would take or that I would have every
00:17:51.420 morning. And so, and there's different kinds of tea. I think that Pinkstork also has some tea
00:17:56.860 that you can buy that can help with nausea. Carbs, you probably want carbs, so that's good.
00:18:03.500 I would eat, you know, biscuits and bread, toast, things, things like that. That'll be helpful to you.
00:18:08.920 If something doesn't sound good, don't eat it. It's fine. If something does sound good,
00:18:12.820 then it's okay to indulge in that. Maybe don't indulge in everything like I did, but it's okay
00:18:20.320 to be a little bit looser and just to eat what your body needs and what you actually want because
00:18:26.720 it's still important for you to be gaining weight and consuming calories and things like that. It'll
00:18:32.240 help you feel better too if you can get something down. So that is my, that's my tip on that.
00:18:40.020 Um, how do I get my millennial daughter back to Jesus? Well, I have a comforting thing to say,
00:18:47.740 and maybe a little bit of a frightening thing to say. One of the comforting things that I'm going
00:18:51.820 to, well, it's the same thing, but it could be seen as comforting or frightening. That God is
00:18:57.000 completely sovereign over your child's salvation. That God is going to do what he wants to do.
00:19:02.240 That God is in charge of your daughter's eternal destiny. And if he wants to turn her heart of
00:19:08.920 stone into a heart of flesh, he is going to do that. And his grace is irresistible. And so that's
00:19:13.840 comforting for you because ultimately you are not in control of your child's eternal destiny.
00:19:20.300 Now he has also, uh, he has also ordained that, uh, we pray for those who need prayer. He has also
00:19:29.900 ordained that prayer is a tool that's actually effective, that actually works. Something that
00:19:34.100 he calls us to as an act of obedience, but also the book of James says that the prayer of a righteous
00:19:38.520 person has great power. And so when you're praying, you're actually doing something in really this
00:19:44.160 mysterious way that we as finite human beings don't understand. So God is completely sovereign,
00:19:48.700 and yet he is calling us to share the gospel and to pray. It's a little bit, it's a little bit
00:19:53.260 strange. And yet that is clearly what scripture lays out. And so you pray for her. You continue to share
00:19:58.720 the gospel with her. You continue to love, um, and accept her and embrace her and let her know how much
00:20:03.620 you love her. Um, but ultimately you understand and you trust and you rest in the fact that God is
00:20:10.580 totally in control of her heart and of her soul. And, um, he is faithful and he is good no matter what.
00:20:18.800 And so you direct your attention towards him and worshiping and trusting him. Uh, someone asks,
00:20:25.920 I'm in California. I want to move to give my kids a better life. What states are doing it right?
00:20:31.400 I am hearing this a lot. Some people ask me, should I stay in my liberal state? Should I move
00:20:36.280 from my liberal state? And it's really difficult. It's, it's really difficult to make that decision.
00:20:41.320 I do think that a place, I mean, there are a lot of different red states. There's Arkansas,
00:20:46.660 there's Oklahoma, there's South Carolina, there's Florida, Georgia. I still think is a pretty red state.
00:20:52.820 There's Alabama, Texas. I know some people fear that Texas will turn purple. Maybe, maybe not,
00:20:58.520 but those states need more conservative people to go there and to ensure that it stays red.
00:21:06.220 All right. Next question. Uh, someone said, is it bad to work for a political party if you're a
00:21:13.500 Christian? No, I definitely don't think so. Now you don't want to compromise on your values. Politics
00:21:17.960 can be a very dirty business. And so you want to make sure that you are walking in integrity. And if
00:21:23.260 there is ever a moment where it comes to, it comes to your faith or, you know, doing whatever the
00:21:31.180 campaign asks you to do that you don't think is honorable or that you think wouldn't glorify God or
00:21:35.400 you think is a sin, then obviously you choose to walk away from that. But we need, we need salt and
00:21:42.280 light. We need salt and light in politics. Politics matter because policy matters because people
00:21:48.180 matter. So we need Christians in politics, uh, in culture, making a difference, influencing people
00:21:55.540 with the light of Christ. My next question is, um, holiday traditions to start with young kids. So we kind
00:22:06.600 of talked about Reformation Day. I think that would be really fun. I want to, I really want to have
00:22:13.300 traditions with my kids surrounding the holidays and ensuring that we are bringing everything,
00:22:20.080 Easter, Christmas, Thanksgiving, Reformation Day, every holiday that we possibly can, we can bring it
00:22:28.020 back to rejoicing in the Lord and the blessings that he's given us, the freedom that we have in Christ.
00:22:33.040 Everything can be centered on the gospel. That's what our job is as Christian parents to lay that
00:22:37.780 foundation, that biblical worldview so that everything they see, they make sense of using
00:22:42.580 scripture and using the gospel of Christ. And so I don't have specific traditions for you. A lot of
00:22:47.980 you guys are way more creative than I am. So you can come up with those specific traditions. My mom
00:22:52.620 always did a birthday party for G, uh, for Jesus at Christmas where she would invite neighbors and people
00:22:57.760 in her community. And we would do all of these different crafts and make sure that the celebration
00:23:03.660 was about Jesus. Like she would have a birthday cake and all of that. As you can tell, my mom is
00:23:07.480 very creative and it's very gospel centered. And so she's really good at all of that. So, so many
00:23:13.380 different things, so many different things that we can do to make sure that we are sharing the gospel,
00:23:16.980 both with our kids and the people around us. Um, other, let's see other questions that I have,
00:23:27.300 uh, or that someone sent me Braves or Astros. Okay. I know that I'm from Texas. And so you might
00:23:33.920 think that I am rooting for the Houston Astros, but I'm not because Houston bleh, I am from Dallas and,
00:23:41.740 you know, Dallas and Houston, they kind of, they kind of have it out for each other. They kind of have a
00:23:45.860 rivalry and my husband's family is all from Georgia. My husband's a Braves fan. So I would
00:23:52.580 actually rather root for the Braves than Houston. I'm so sorry. It's not that I don't love you
00:23:59.000 Houstonians, but I feel that it is against my deeply held beliefs to root for the Astros. And
00:24:06.380 so I'm not going to do that. I'm going to root for the Braves. I actually want, I've been to,
00:24:10.980 when the Rangers, when the Texas Rangers were in the, uh, were in, they were in the world series
00:24:17.000 against St. Louis. I think I went to the world series in college with my dad and it was,
00:24:23.760 it was pretty cool. All right. Okay. My thoughts on homesteading. I was just talking to a friend
00:24:31.300 about this. I was just texting her about this a couple of nights ago and saying how I really want
00:24:35.080 to be a homesteader and I'm not, I'm not, I don't have that natural ability. However, I started
00:24:41.220 following some homesteaders and I really want to start trying. So I actually had this idea the other
00:24:47.920 night that maybe I can get a group of women who live close to me. Maybe we can have different
00:24:52.120 chapters around the country. I always have these ideas very few times do I follow through with it,
00:24:56.680 but maybe someone else will, when they hear this idea, like have different chapters around the
00:25:00.360 country of women who once a month, they take some kind of homesteading class or they go to a farm
00:25:06.260 and they learn how to make jam or they go and they learn how to make cheese or milk a cow or
00:25:14.900 so, or something like that. Something that can prep you. I don't want to, I don't, I don't like to say
00:25:20.560 prepping because it has a negative kind of apocalyptic, crazy person connotation. Although I do follow
00:25:26.760 people who are very prepared and I have no problem with that whatsoever, but sometimes other people
00:25:31.420 think of, you know, people as crazy for preparing, which I don't think is crazy at all. I actually
00:25:35.660 think it's very Proverbs 31 that we are supposed to prepare for hard times. And so also we can be
00:25:42.060 generous to the people around us who haven't been as prepared. So I think it would be really fun to
00:25:46.500 have a group of women who every month we go, we go learn from someone who has prepared and who can
00:25:52.420 teach us different ways to prepare, to organize all of the supplies and the food that you've
00:25:56.620 restored so many possibilities. Maybe that's already out there. So if you know of something
00:26:02.120 that already exists like that, I want to join it because I want to be a homesteader. I told my
00:26:06.820 husband, I said, you picked a bad apocalypse wife. Like I'm not an apocalypse wife. If, if, I mean,
00:26:12.980 if things really hit the fan and things get, you know, zombie apocalypse, like the only thing I can do
00:26:20.940 is host a podcast. So I'm going to be out there in our little tunnel, in our little, you know,
00:26:26.440 cellar, whatever we have. And I'm just going to be like, let's just talk about the fact that we're
00:26:31.760 getting attacked by China. That's the only, that's the only skill that I have. So I'm hoping to change
00:26:36.900 that. And I'm hoping to be able to actually prepare in some way, just in case, just in case things
00:26:44.820 happen. If, you know, the supply chain things, they keep on getting worse. People need to be
00:26:48.940 prepared. And so, I don't know, just an idea I have. I love homesteading. I hope I answered some
00:26:53.940 of your questions thoroughly. And I hope I answered some of your questions about Halloween as well.
00:26:58.840 All right. That's all I've got time for today. We will be back here on Monday.
