00:00:00.000 hey guys welcome to relatable happy wednesday hope everyone has had a wonderful week so far
00:00:16.060 we're gonna talk about a few things today we are going to talk about this transgender swimmer so
00:00:24.520 called transgender swimmer whose name is leah thomas who is smashing women's swimming records
00:00:32.660 surprise surprise we are also going to talk about new york city mandating vaccine passports for kids
00:00:39.220 as young as five also in la apparently kids are getting bribed with food like pizza and tacos
00:00:45.780 to get the vaccine without parental consent we're going to talk about that and then we're going to
00:00:51.520 get reaction to this pediatric coerced vaccination and vaccination verification program from bethany
00:01:01.240 mandel she is a mom of five she homeschools three of those kids she's a writer she is an editor at
00:01:08.840 ricochet.com she is a contributing writer for desert news and she is also the editor of the heroes of
00:01:14.800 liberty series and we are also going to talk to her about that it is a series of kids books with
00:01:20.440 amazing illustrations about american heroes like ronald reagan thomas soul amy coney barrett and so
00:01:26.340 we're going to talk about that with her i'm really excited for you to hear about that because it's
00:01:30.560 such an awesome project that you guys are going to benefit from and love but first i want to talk about
00:01:35.960 this story about well actually before we get into that let me just say for those of you who are
00:01:41.700 watching or listening yesterday yesterday and if you follow me on instagram you might have seen
00:01:46.460 you might have seen that i that i said this that i was not feeling well yesterday i don't know what it
00:01:52.260 was but if you go back and you watch yesterday's youtube video like i am looking rough because i was
00:01:59.120 feeling rough and thank thankfully owen strand is an amazing guest and he can just talk by himself he
00:02:05.640 could have just hosted relatable and i didn't have to say anything and he could totally carry the
00:02:10.220 conversation and that's exactly what i needed praise the lord because i wasn't feeling well i don't know
00:02:14.780 what it was but i am totally fine now i woke up this morning feeling fine but um if yesterday if i
00:02:22.740 seemed owen definitely didn't but if i seemed a little bit low energy and a little bit like i was
00:02:27.460 struggling that's because i was but today i'm back with a vengeance and i've got all the enthusiasm and
00:02:34.300 the energy needed to make up for yesterday so let's talk about let's talk about leah thomas this
00:02:42.180 transgender swimmer uh who according to the washington times is smashing women's records
00:02:49.200 and is stoking outrage because of that now let me make a note on pronouns i always make this note but
00:02:57.480 i think it's important so people don't just think that i am being purposely inflammatory when i use he
00:03:03.720 him his pronouns for a man it is not because i am trying to be purposely offensive it's not because i
00:03:11.100 want to make this person leah thomas angry or upset or self-conscious or anything like that that is not
00:03:17.200 my purpose my purpose is to speak that which is true language matters and language is supposed to speak
00:03:23.940 to reality it's supposed to indicate that which is true and what i know is biologically true is that
00:03:30.920 this person leah thomas is a man he has male chromosomes he was a male from the moment of conception
00:03:40.120 and because pronouns have always indicated that reality i see no reason to change my language in
00:03:47.860 order to conform to um uh to a lie and because i believe it's so important especially now to live
00:03:56.860 not by lies and to double down on that which is true while still trying to be as loving as and as kind
00:04:04.020 as possible i will use he him pronouns for men and this person is i don't even think it's accurate to
00:04:12.460 say transgender whatever that means as if that was a possibility um but uh this person is a man who
00:04:21.000 identifies as a woman so i think that the most accurate and therefore the most loving thing that i can
00:04:29.220 do is to speak that which is true god is love first john 4 8 the god who says that he is love that
00:04:35.820 embodies love that defines what love is says in genesis 1 that he made us male and female biologically
00:04:43.040 he made us male and female and in his image he created men as male and female so to be male and female
00:04:49.780 is to be made in the image of god and to deny the reality of uh of male and female biology
00:04:58.220 is to not only deny the nature of humanity but also to um deny what god says is to be made in
00:05:06.520 the image of the divine and i'm just not willing to do that so if god says something the god who is
00:05:12.140 love says something is true then the most loving thing that i can do is to agree with god that is why
00:05:19.180 i will use accurate pronouns to talk about a man or a woman just fyi i urge other outlets to do the
00:05:28.000 same thing unfortunately even allegedly conservative outlets have given in and have started to speak
00:05:34.600 absurdities by using pronouns that don't actually correspond with a person's sex and just a reminder
00:05:42.360 gender identity as something that is detached from sex was um it was originated in the 1960s by a pervert 0.63
00:05:51.540 named dr john money you can read all about that we've talked all about that on this podcast that is not a real
00:05:57.220 category and for anyone who says well what about intersex um intersex people they are people made in 0.97
00:06:05.000 the image of god obviously they have um a genetic anomaly often or some kind of hormonal uh hormonal
00:06:13.300 anomaly less than one percent of the population actually has an intersex condition that does not
00:06:19.680 rewrite the rule of male and female in the same way that there may be babies that are born with one arm
00:06:25.240 or one leg that doesn't mean that human beings aren't bipeds so exceptions do not rewrite the
00:06:32.900 rules so that's what i'll say on that all right i had to give that i had to give that preamble because
00:06:38.080 you never know this could be the first time you're listening to this podcast or hearing someone like
00:06:42.820 me talk about the subject so i wanted to try to give you a foundation for why i talk about this the
00:06:48.360 way that i do so again according to the washington times collegiate swimmer leah thomas is shattering
00:06:53.500 women's swimming records this season and critics say there's a reason she says the washington times
00:07:00.020 i hope someone from the washington times listening to this why are you giving it into the absurdity
00:07:04.140 she used to be a man well actually he is still a man that is the most accurate way to say this
00:07:10.400 the university of pennsylvania swimmer continued i'm going to put in my own pronouns here since they use
00:07:17.300 female pronouns um his dominant saturday at 2021 zippy invitational in uh in akron ohio with a first
00:07:24.880 place finish in the 200 yard freestyle setting a pool program and meet record with a time of 141.93
00:07:32.660 he won the race by or she won the race by uh nearly seven seconds and her time was the fastest in the 0.81
00:07:40.420 country the penn sports information department said in a press release the 22 year old thomas
00:07:46.880 swam on penn's men's team from 2017 to 2020 as will thomas okay so this person actually swam for pen
00:07:58.560 from 2017 to 2020 and his name was will oh my goodness so a man his whole life just decided to
00:08:06.160 identify as a woman in the past year placing second in the ivy league championships and three freestyle
00:08:11.020 events and making second team all ivy in the 2018 to 2019 season thomas also won the men's 500
00:08:17.940 freestyle against villanova in the 2019 to 2020 season since transitioning to female and joining
00:08:24.200 the women's team however thomas has gone from being a solid college swimmer to a dominant one penn today
00:08:30.320 reported in june that thomas took a year off during the pandemic and will swim for the penn women's team
00:08:36.420 in her senior year that's according to penn today being trans has not affected my ability to do this
00:08:42.980 sport and being able to continue is very rewarding you're darn right it hasn't affected your ability
00:08:51.660 in a negative way um actually it hasn't your affected your ability at all that is correct the problem is
00:08:58.520 is that you are still a man and so you are able to swim as a man is able to swim and women are never 1.00
00:09:05.200 going to be able to keep up with you because men have more testosterone which means they have more 1.00
00:09:11.100 solid bone density which means they have greater muscle mass we're not talking about someone who
00:09:16.340 tried to transition several years ago and has been on estrogen for several years even then what happens
00:09:22.140 during puberty for a boy or a girl it's really irreversible and that is part of what makes um a boy and
00:09:33.320 then a man so much stronger and so much faster than a girl or a woman but it's actually also what
00:09:38.540 happens in the womb a boy is born with so much more testosterone than a girl is born with and so
00:09:45.080 really that is irreversible and it's just amazing it's amazing how the patriarchy is dominating in this
00:09:53.380 in the name of inclusion even in the name of women's rights because you hear this ridiculous maxim
00:09:59.460 that trans women are women which really doesn't mean anything it's just the perfect propaganda phrase 1.00
00:10:06.280 um and so in the name of women's rights a man is actually dominating uh female sports and see what 0.95
00:10:15.460 happens i'm sure in the minds of these female swimmers even if they are totally on board with it 1.00
00:10:20.360 even if they're like pro trans whatever it is you know in their minds that every time they are thinking
00:10:26.440 about what place they got in a particular competition they're excluding this guy like
00:10:30.960 they're saying okay yeah i did lose to so-called leah thomas who was just who was will just last year
00:10:36.720 um i did lose to him but hey i i got second place which means i really got first place and that's what
00:10:43.000 everyone else is thinking too like no one is thinking wow this like wonderful you know uh this this
00:10:50.900 wonderful delicate woman is such a good swimmer and is the best female swimmer ever even everyone who 1.00
00:10:59.340 is pro trans and pro trans rights whatever they're all thinking the same thing they're thinking that
00:11:06.000 this person is an exception that this is not actually a woman swimming and that everyone else who is
00:11:12.000 swimming behind this person um they're actually competing against each other and this person is in
00:11:17.780 basically a league of his own and hey if you want to have a separate league for transgender people
00:11:23.700 then do that i mean whatever if that's fine i have really no opinion about that really i think that
00:11:30.540 people should be competing against those who share their biology or you could just mix it up all
00:11:36.660 together and just watch every woman lose every almost every event um but this obviously is not fair
00:11:46.420 and it should not be a position of bigotry you shouldn't be accused of being some kind of
00:11:54.440 phobe for simply saying that you care about fairness in women's sports every time a man takes a position
00:12:01.260 on a female sports team you are taking that position away from a qualified woman and if you actually care 1.00
00:12:10.240 about equality if you actually care about female success then you should care about that i mean
00:12:17.740 this is just absurd it's just absurd and anytime anyone on the left talks about uh people on the
00:12:26.520 right not caring about truth or not caring about reality or just feeding into propaganda i just want
00:12:33.020 to remind you guys that you actually believe that a man can become a woman it can compete against women 0.81
00:12:37.780 and that's that's fair i just want to remind you guys that that's like a position that you guys hold
00:12:43.100 and until you renounce that position you don't have any moral foundation to stand on whatsoever to talk
00:12:50.120 about the dangers of propaganda or misinformation i mean not to mention the million other things that
00:12:57.540 we talked about on this podcast that i think is misinformation that comes from the progressive side of the
00:13:02.780 isle will remind you in just a second of the duke law school study that we have cited in the past that
00:13:09.280 talks about the incontrovertible differences between men and women okay so this duke law school study that
00:13:19.600 we have cited before let me read to you from from that amazing study comparing female and male track
00:13:27.860 athletes and what they found let's see i believe this was just in 2020 i believe it was no well i think it came out
00:13:38.640 in 2020 but i'm pretty sure that they were studying men and women and boys and girls in the year of 2017
00:13:45.700 so this is what duke law school found in their extensive study and i will link this in the description to this
00:13:52.620 episode quote if you know sport you know this beyond a reasonable doubt there is an average 10
00:13:57.640 to 12 performance gap between elite males and elite females the gap is smaller between elite females and
00:14:03.700 non-elite males but it's still insurmountable and that's what ultimately matters so that is the
00:14:09.300 conclusion basically to their study the duke university researchers report that in 2017 tori bowie
00:14:15.900 she is an olympic champion in the 100 meter dash and three-time olympic medalist that her lifetime
00:14:22.700 record in the 100 meter dash was beaten by men and boys over 15 000 times in 2017 alone so that is
00:14:31.240 her lifetime record she is an olympian was beaten by men and boys non-elite athletes over 15 000 times
00:14:42.320 in 2017 the same is true for allison felix who is another olympic champion her 400 meter dash record
00:14:49.480 was beaten over 15 000 times by non-elite non-professional and professional men and boys in
00:14:56.520 2017 so men and boys that means according to this study um boy that means that boys 18 and up and 18
00:15:04.200 and uh and 18 and under so men 18 and up and boys 18 and under that's what they how they're defining
00:15:10.380 those categories they compared the track times for a variety of events of of events of the world's
00:15:16.300 best fastest women to the times of the fastest boys under the age of 18 in every single category
00:15:22.180 100 meter dash 400 meters high jump triple jump the world's fastest adult women were beat by what would 0.88
00:15:30.180 be high school boys so boys under the age of 18 the times of the fastest high school boys according to
00:15:36.840 the study were faster than the times of female adult olympic athletes for every single women's record
00:15:43.660 for a track event there are often hundreds of under 18 boys boys who beat record who beat that record
00:15:50.600 and hundreds if not thousands of men who beat that record uh there's not a track event out there where
00:15:57.460 women beat men or where a single woman um beats the majority of men uh here's what the study concludes
00:16:04.140 quote this differential between men and women boys and girls and even boys and women um this
00:16:09.800 differential isn't the result of boys and men having a male identity more resources better training or
00:16:15.900 superior discipline that's what you hear a lot from the pro-trans lobby it's because they have an
00:16:21.560 androgynized body the results make clear that sex determines win share female athletes here defined as 0.71
00:16:28.680 athletes with ovaries instead of testes and testosterone levels capable of being produced by the female
00:16:34.080 non-androgenized body are not competitive for the win against males here defined as athletes with
00:16:40.940 testes and testosterone levels in the male range the lowest end of the male range is three times higher
00:16:47.860 than the highest end of the female range consistent with females far lower t levels the female range is 1.00
00:16:54.980 also very narrow while the male range is broad that just can't be overcome it can't be overcome
00:17:02.360 with estrogen therapy it's not going to be overcome with surgery because testosterone during a child's
00:17:10.520 life determines very often most of the time the vast majority of the time that's going to determine
00:17:16.260 things like i said bone density muscle mass anaerobic aerobic capacity all things that determine your
00:17:24.900 success in athletic events whether it is running whether it is swimming whether it is even golfing that
00:17:31.060 doesn't mean that there won't be the exceptional woman that can beat you know a mediocre man in a
00:17:37.340 sport of course that is true like if you take the most unathletic guy and you take a super athletic and
00:17:43.040 strong elite female athlete like she's probably going to be able to beat him in running or something like 1.00
00:17:49.100 that but that's not what we're that's not what we're talking about here that's not what happens at
00:17:53.120 athletic events you're talking about male athletes who are training for a particular event and a female
00:17:58.160 athlete who are training for a particular event they're simply not competitive against one another
00:18:02.220 again there are exceptions to that rule but as a rule because of biology the very science that the left says
00:18:08.520 that they like they are simply not able to compete against one another fairly and that's not just because
00:18:16.540 of the testosterone levels that increase so much during puberty during those preteen and teenage years
00:18:22.360 for uh for boys but also the testosterone that boys are born with that is so much higher than what girls 0.85
00:18:30.560 are born with so the differences between boys and girls actually happen inside the womb and are
00:18:36.460 ultimately insurmountable no matter if you change your identity so of course this is unfair this is absurd
00:18:42.900 female athletes it doesn't matter what side of the aisle that you're on you should continue to speak up 0.99
00:18:47.580 about this kind of stuff you should push back yes people are going to call you a bigot yes people
00:18:52.160 are going to say you're hateful yes you are going to get a lot of pushback for it people are going to
00:18:57.940 threaten you it's going to be really difficult but you're not just standing up for yourself you're
00:19:02.020 standing up for the young girls who are coming after you who deserve to be able to uh play fairly who
00:19:09.280 deserve to be able to have a fair shot at elite status at scholarships of just winning a particular
00:19:15.960 event so you're not just standing up for you you are standing up for younger generations for people
00:19:20.480 who don't have the same voice that you do parents the same goes for you you need to be sticking up for
00:19:26.100 your kids you need to be uh standing up in the name of other parents who may be in the same position
00:19:32.640 as you now or later this stuff matters because truth matters reality matters and not only fairness for
00:19:39.680 girls but we're also thinking about safety for girls forcing girls to have to share um a private space
00:19:47.920 with boys and with men i mean that's a form of harassment that's not fair i mean we're sacrificing
00:19:54.780 our most vulnerable population for the whims of a tiny part of the population who would be much better
00:20:04.300 served through more compassionate care and in helping them deal with the reality of them being
00:20:11.100 male or female all right we're going to shift gears we're going to continue to talk about
00:20:15.360 the younger uh populations and being sacrificed on the altar of progressivism in just one second 0.97
00:20:21.760 okay so let's talk about this ridiculous mandate in new york city this is according to nbc
00:20:30.500 new york nyc vaccine requirement for kids ages 5 to 11 starts next week what to know so this is
00:20:41.600 a la uh bill de blasio world's worst mayor and that's saying a lot in a world where laurie lightfoot
00:20:50.140 exists but he is a terrible mayor and you can ask the people of new york they don't like him as a mayor
00:20:55.100 i mean he's on his way out and so maybe he has hopes for a political future but he's
00:21:00.480 just doing what he thinks he needs to do i guess to please the radical progressives in this city
00:21:06.780 so here's what he is doing according to nbc new york all private sector workers in new york city will
00:21:13.360 be subject to the mayor's vaccine mandate starting december 27th affecting 184 000 businesses while
00:21:21.420 vaccine proof for indoor dining fitness and entertainment will be required for children ages
00:21:26.860 5 to 11 i mean how sad is this that they're not going to be able parents aren't going to be able
00:21:34.820 to take their kids to all the places where they are typically able to take them to museums and places
00:21:41.240 of entertainment and all of that especially around christmas time when kids ages 5 to 11 don't need
00:21:46.440 this vaccine maybe there are some high-risk kids that do and parents should be able to have that choice
00:21:51.660 i believe that parents love and know their children the best but to have this be mandated to have to
00:21:57.580 show proof of vaccination for a five-year-old who has almost no chance of dying from this disease or
00:22:02.940 even getting a serious illness from this disease like who are you protecting if everyone else also has to
00:22:09.640 have vaccine verification so everywhere you're going every adult is vaccinated why do the kids have to be
00:22:15.780 vaccinated who are you protecting is it just because there are some super scared and paranoid people
00:22:21.460 that are still afraid that they're going to get this uh highly survivable virus from a kid is that
00:22:28.680 where we are we're seeing kids as these uh as just vectors of sickness vectors of virus and we are
00:22:34.280 sacrificing them on the altar of our wants this is the exact opposite of how we're supposed to be
00:22:38.900 treating children by the way like we don't sacrifice the health of children or the well-being of children
00:22:45.700 for the sake of the old and the infant i'm sorry you just don't that's not how you're supposed to structure
00:22:51.220 society and there are real potential side effects that come with this vaccine for children especially
00:22:58.580 for adolescents there is risk of myocarditis there are other unknown risks that we don't know
00:23:05.720 especially if you have a kid that maybe has a medical condition that puts them in a higher risk category
00:23:12.520 for this particular vaccine in no world should this be mandated for anyone but in particular for
00:23:21.100 children let me remind you that the american academy of pediatrics says that among states reporting
00:23:29.140 children were 0.00 did you hear that number 0.00 to 0.28 of all covid19 deaths and six states
00:23:41.500 reported zero child deaths in states reporting 0.00 to 0.03 of all child covid19 cases resulted in death
00:23:53.660 okay so at most at most 0.03 like how can i emphasize this more than i have been for the past year at most
00:24:07.580 your child has a point zero three percent chance of dying from covid and probably the point three percent
00:24:16.720 of kids this is people under the age of 18 that died from covid probably had a comorbidity now all of
00:24:23.780 those lives matter 100 we're not saying that they don't but when we're talking about public policy that
00:24:30.200 affects people that affects people's lives and affects people's livelihoods i mean this is going to affect
00:24:35.580 the businesses in new york city because parents just aren't going to do it they're going to move out
00:24:40.540 or they're just not going to comply uh when you're talking about policy that affects people you have to
00:24:45.720 look at the numbers you have to look at the likelihood your child is much more likely to die in a car wreck
00:24:52.180 your child is about just as likely to die from a lightning strike or to be struck by lightning than they are
00:24:57.720 uh to die from covid this is absurd this is absurd and i saw someone say online this is just about
00:25:06.220 keeping kids healthy no it's not there is a real risk of adverse reactions to these vaccines for kids
00:25:13.380 and you're not protecting anyone you're not protecting them obviously because they're already
00:25:17.820 protected and actually according to the financial times unvaccinated kids unvaccinated people under the
00:25:24.160 age of 17 are less likely to die than a fully vaccinated whatever that means since apparently
00:25:30.100 you have to get two booster shots to be considered fully vaccinated spoiler alert that's going to keep
00:25:35.480 going on and on as long as it makes these vaccine distributors money manufacturers money um but they are
00:25:43.280 they they are less likely to die from covid unvaccinated kids than fully vaccinated 50 year olds um and even
00:25:53.480 people in their 40s people in their 40s who are fully vaccinated in their 50s and 60s who are fully
00:25:58.380 vaccinated are more likely to die from covid which is still very unlikely than the unvaccinated child
00:26:04.040 so this just makes no more sense this is paranoia we shouldn't be policy making based on paranoia again
00:26:10.280 for the very people who say that they care so much about the science they care so much about truth and
00:26:15.180 right-wing misinformation and propaganda i'm sorry you guys you guys jumped the shark a long time ago you guys
00:26:21.460 stopped believing in real science a long time ago when fear and paranoia is involved uh that's when
00:26:28.060 people stop actually caring about the facts and when you have someone like anthony fauci saying that he
00:26:32.580 is science and opposing him um is opposing science itself like he is some kind of source of all truth
00:26:39.900 and reason you know that this has become more of a religion for people than a pursuit of actual truth
00:26:47.400 and good policy i mean this is insane sacrificing the young for the old which by the way even even
00:26:55.320 trying to sacrifice the young for the old isn't going to work getting a kid vaccinated is not going
00:27:00.740 to protect anyone it's wrong it's immoral and i'm sad about this i'm super sad about this for kids i'm
00:27:08.100 super sad about this for parents for people who can't move out of new york this is insane not to mention
00:27:13.800 all the insane things that are going on in the rest of the world who are still trying to put onerous
00:27:19.280 draconian restrictions on their on their people who are vaccinated or unvaccinated um in several
00:27:25.180 countries this is not about your health how do you not see that by now this is not about your health
00:27:32.040 there was this other story that i thought was just nightmarish coming out of los angeles this mother
00:27:38.720 according to um according to fox news said that um her son was vaccinated in exchange for pizza
00:27:47.380 without parental consent so this is uh that's what a los angeles mother said her 13 year old son
00:27:56.780 received as part of his school's covid 19 vaccination incentive program the transaction however allegedly
00:28:03.000 happened without parental consent the lady that gave him the shot and signed the paper told my son
00:28:07.960 please don't say anything i don't want to get into trouble said maribel duarte who claimed her son
00:28:13.600 was vaccinated without anyone informing her according to a report duarte's son is a student
00:28:18.880 at barack obama global prep academy super fitting the district would not confirm the incident or the
00:28:24.360 details behind it including what kind of pizza the student was supposed supposedly offered or what
00:28:29.900 pizzeria it came from uh with the january 10th 2022 student vaccination deadline approaching the
00:28:36.880 district to introduce the safe safe schools to safe steps incentive program throughout los angeles
00:28:42.980 unified schools the program offers incentives to families who upload proof of their vaccine
00:28:47.120 have an approved medical exemption or have conditional admission to los angeles unified school district
00:28:54.220 spokesperson told the washington examiner so this is actually from the washington examiner not fox
00:28:58.700 the school has an overall vaccination rate of over 80 percent wow and will continue to work
00:29:04.060 closely with its community for all eligible students to meet the vaccination deadline vaccinations are
00:29:09.280 essential for the district students the spokesperson added but it's not it's not again this is not
00:29:15.180 scientific at all this is about coercion this is about control this is a bunch of this is about a
00:29:20.180 bunch of super paranoid scared adults whose fears are not grounded in statistical reality whatsoever
00:29:26.960 it's really sad but i guess a country that constantly is sacrificing thousands of children
00:29:33.080 on the altar of progressivism in the name of abortion it shouldn't surprise me that we don't put the best 0.99
00:29:39.340 interests of kids who are outside of the womb at heart um all right i'm gonna get a bethany mandel
00:29:45.460 mother of five uh her reaction to that in just a second we're also going to talk about that heroes of liberty
00:29:52.400 bethany thank you so much for joining us first i want to get your reaction um about this story
00:30:00.900 about new york city the mayor of new york city mandating vaccine verification for children as young
00:30:08.520 as five years old what do you think about that as a mother of five young kids um i so as a as a former
00:30:15.640 new yorker and someone who was literally born and and somewhat raised in new york i'm really sad
00:30:20.820 i grew up going to the met and going to the museum of natural museum of natural history and
00:30:26.600 restaurants new york especially around christmas time is a really magical place and my kids for
00:30:32.320 you know i don't know how long we'll never experience that uh there's no basis in science
00:30:37.700 for this this is something that the fda panel when they were discussing approving these vaccines
00:30:43.520 really specifically advised against they said just because we're we're approving these doesn't mean
00:30:48.880 that these should be mandated they should be available for children who are higher risk but
00:30:53.200 that doesn't mean that they should be forced upon every child and that's exactly what bill de blasio
00:30:56.980 and new york city are trying to do you are one of the most pro vaccine people that i know you are a very
00:31:04.520 outspoken advocate for vaccines and for pediatric vaccination so this obviously isn't something that
00:31:11.900 you are opposing per se obviously you don't oppose vaccines and you might not even it sounds like oppose
00:31:18.660 the covid vaccine for kids who may need it but you are opposing these kinds of restrictions correct
00:31:26.700 yeah absolutely i have written about pediatric vaccines for literally every major newspaper in
00:31:32.280 the country the new york times the new york post the washington post like you do not get more
00:31:36.400 pro vax than i am but i also spent eight hours watching the fda panel discussion about approving these
00:31:42.420 vaccines and the headline of those of that approval process was that it was totally approved by an
00:31:47.820 anonymous vote but when you actually watch all of these doctors and these panelists discussing the
00:31:52.960 decision there was a lot of nuance and over and over and over they said we do not want this to lead
00:31:58.800 to mandates we do not mean that this should be forced upon every child this is still emergency use
00:32:03.720 for a virus that they are just not in danger of severe illness or death this makes no sense and now
00:32:11.600 over the last i would say couple months we've seen a lot of data starting to roll in about what has
00:32:17.960 happened with teen boys specifically with heart conditions with a swelling of the heart called
00:32:22.660 myocarditis and we're only seeing that data now but they've been vaccinated for the last several months
00:32:28.220 and so i mean my perspective as a parent as well is let's let's slow down a little bit and see what
00:32:35.420 the data is but bill de blasio and the people who are making these mandates also in south in san francisco
00:32:41.160 are not allowing parents the grace to wait for that data which is a very pro-science position right and
00:32:48.120 we actually just talked about not just in san francisco also in la apparently according to one mom she says
00:32:55.340 that her son was vaccinated in exchange for pizza and tacos without parental consent and her son was
00:33:02.280 actually vaccinated not just bribed in this way but kids came home with their little vaccine card
00:33:08.320 showing their parent hey i've been vaccinated twice and their parent didn't know i mean my thing is
00:33:13.820 are the teachers who are coercing and bribing these kids are they going to be the ones to take the child
00:33:22.200 to the doctor to the hospital if they do come down with something like myocarditis they're not the ones
00:33:27.480 that have to live with the potential risks of this the parents do so shouldn't they get a say
00:33:33.160 in what kind of medical treatment or medical procedure their child undergoes yeah i mean this is
00:33:38.980 la better hope and pray that no kids that they vaccinated in this way come down with myocarditis
00:33:45.240 because whoever that happens to that family will own the los angeles school district and they
00:33:49.900 darn well should well i i hope that that doesn't happen but if that does happen i i do hope that
00:33:56.380 like you said that some kind of justice will be seen because of that all right let's shift gears i
00:34:02.880 want to talk about this really exciting project that you've been a part of i've loved everything
00:34:07.700 i've read about it you've been posting about it and that is this heroes of liberty series tell us
00:34:13.300 about the series what it is and why you got involved in it yeah absolutely so we were joking before we
00:34:18.660 went on air that i own like a bazillion t books these are all my children sorry this side this is all
00:34:24.100 just my children's books uh so i am a huge fan of children's literature and i i think i'm an expert
00:34:30.940 at this point uh i've read all of those books a lot oh this one um so when they contacted me they said
00:34:38.300 you know we're sort of we're developing this biographical book series uh for children and
00:34:43.580 about amy coney barrett and thomas soul and ronald reagan and i was like okay that's not interesting
00:34:48.780 like those are three interesting figures but i was a little bit nervous about it being brainwashing
00:34:54.960 and so they said that is not what this is we're going to send you the books and tell us what you
00:35:00.080 think and i was so enthusiastic they're so well illustrated they're so well written i immediately
00:35:06.000 sort of jumped on board and now i'm editing all of the future books and i'm doing press for it as
00:35:11.380 well because i'm really passionate about it that is awesome i especially loved the um the parts of
00:35:17.220 the thomas soul book that i've seen i mean talk about in um under reported under talked about
00:35:25.240 figure that has been so monumental when it comes to the field of economics and just our understanding
00:35:31.040 of politics and the why behind the philosophy of politics that he's really not discussed same thing
00:35:38.780 with walter williams and a lot of black conservatives um and so i love that you guys have provided the
00:35:43.800 material for parents to teach their kids in a really fun and engaging way about people like him
00:35:48.460 um i've also been told that there are never seen before illustrations of alexander hamilton
00:35:53.780 um that i think that we can pull up uh can you talk can you talk about that one can you talk about
00:36:01.000 yeah um that particular book yeah so um it was interesting when we were trying to find illustrators
00:36:07.700 for these books we approached the best illustrators in america and they were all afraid of getting
00:36:13.360 canceled after hearing some of the people that they would be protecting potentially illustrating and so
00:36:17.980 they said no sorry pass and so we started going to illustrators around the world and the amazing
00:36:23.860 thing i mean this guy should not be illustrating children's books like what is he doing yeah i'm not
00:36:29.480 going to tell him to get another job because we really love him a lot but it's just absolutely
00:36:33.760 incredible he does such incredible work and this is something that um i talk about yeah they're really
00:36:40.400 incredible and so something that i talk about a lot is the most important thing in a children's book
00:36:45.040 is not necessarily words but it's the illustrations and so i really loved that uh the folks who sort of
00:36:51.380 founded heroes of liberty had the same perspective and they were like we are going to throw as much
00:36:55.760 money as we need to into getting the best illustrators and the best illustrations because that makes or
00:37:01.200 breaks a children's book i think a lot of parents are rightfully concerned not just about the
00:37:06.280 progressive brainwashing that they read in a lot of books that are just presenting ideas and moral values
00:37:13.060 that they don't agree with that they don't want to confuse their child with but also the lack of
00:37:18.000 creativity and imagination originality and um uh you know just even anything intellectually stimulating
00:37:27.780 it seems like is lacking in a lot of new children's books today yes and i think a lot of parents they're
00:37:33.700 they're missing that and so you hear a lot of parents saying i don't let my kids watch shows that
00:37:37.420 were produced after 2010 i don't let my kids read books that were written after 2010 which is really
00:37:43.460 sad but it sounds like with this series they can they can feel comfortable knowing that their kids are
00:37:47.700 going to be challenged in a good way yeah and that's exactly it i mean when we were sort of reading
00:37:52.540 through the books i was like oh wow these are actually advanced vocabulary something that was
00:37:59.180 interesting that i i read about alexander hamilton sort of in my own research as we were doing these books
00:38:03.900 is that when he went to princeton the uh the requirements of getting into princeton as an undergraduate
00:38:10.860 are higher than they are now to graduate with a phd from princeton wow you had it's crazy
00:38:17.900 you had to you had to be able to read and write greek and latin you had to have an understanding
00:38:24.780 of shakespeare and that's something that kids now uh will never have unless they're honestly
00:38:31.020 they're homeschooled or go to a really challenging private school that prioritize um that prioritize
00:38:36.780 sort of the um the the the academics instead of the wokeism which is happening in a lot of
00:38:43.980 private schools but the um but yeah i mean it's it's really challenging wonderful engaging
00:38:51.980 words and material along with beautiful illustrations heroes of liberty and people can go to heroes of
00:38:59.660 liberty.com slash discount slash ally and you get a discount on those books this would be a really great
00:39:05.580 christmas present not just for your kids but also for nieces and nephews i'm super excited to get the
00:39:11.740 books and uh read to my kids about ronald reagan and tom the soul and all the figures that are
00:39:17.820 in this series uh what i want to end on is you are a mom of five and you are a homeschool mom of your
00:39:25.580 older three kids um and i want you to give encouragement to parents out there because i get
00:39:33.660 messages all the time my kids aren't school age yet so i can't necessarily give encouragement from
00:39:38.380 personal experience people say i just don't think that i can do it or i am afraid of giving up you
00:39:44.540 know my one income and all the different fears that some people who want to homeschool but feel like
00:39:51.260 they can't have can you dispel those fears from your personal experience and just give encouragement to
00:39:57.260 moms and dads who maybe feel like they're not equipped but they maybe you want to take on the
00:40:02.060 challenge of homeschooling one day so it is the biggest blessing in our family and i could talk about
00:40:06.460 it until i'm blue in the face it is 11 13 right now my kids are almost done with school for the day
00:40:12.460 and we started at 9 30 and i'm obviously taking a pretty long break to talk to you right now
00:40:17.340 and school today consisted of reading psalms i'm like looking at our homeschool area reading psalms
00:40:23.980 reading a book about harriet tubman reading a book about the emperor penguin in antarctica and that was
00:40:29.420 school today and then we'll do a little bit of math manipulate math manipulatives and that's it
00:40:34.940 and you know it depends on your job obviously if you're a nurse it's i mean there's a lot of jobs
00:40:40.140 honestly that you could do while homeschooling because you can take different shifts as a nurse
00:40:44.540 but i still work i mean this is me working right now um but school takes not a lot of time it's a
00:40:50.620 it's a beautiful sort of bonding experience with my kids and you know a lot of people say well i want
00:40:55.980 my kids to have the social experience of school and for me i have five kids and they have friends
00:41:01.340 because they do homeschool taekwondo classes and art classes and everything um but at the end of the
00:41:07.100 day do i still talk to the people i went to elementary school with not really who do i want
00:41:13.980 my children to have the strongest relationships with each other yeah and that's what they have
00:41:18.700 they have each other they're downstairs playing right now and i'm like i'm looking at them and it's
00:41:23.500 it's such a beautiful slow gentle experience for everyone involved and it's so individualized and
00:41:30.380 there's so many resources out there that you can really make your homeschool into whatever you
00:41:35.260 imagine it to be yeah and um i mean i went to public school and there's it doesn't get much worse than
00:41:42.300 some of the people i had teaching me to be honest right um but the difference is i know my kids really well
00:41:49.340 from day one and so i know that my my kid is really strong in these areas and weak in other
00:41:55.660 areas and we can run out of the back run out of the gate doing everything that is optimized for them
00:42:01.980 i was a fifth grade teacher 12 years ago and i i liked my kids a lot but i can tell you from the
00:42:09.100 perspective of former classroom teacher i didn't love my children the same way that i love my actual
00:42:14.620 children yeah and my commitment to bettering myself as a teacher and bettering their and
00:42:20.860 their learning and optimizing our experience is much stronger as their parent than as their teacher
00:42:27.100 um so i i mean i'm i'm i could i could talk this was like the worst possible question for you to end
00:42:33.020 with because you're just gonna have to shut my camera off i everyone should follow you everyone should
00:42:39.260 follow bethany on instagram because that's where you talk about a lot of this stuff you talk about it on
00:42:43.900 twitter too but we really kind of get a glimpse into your day-to-day all of the trips that you take
00:42:49.420 i mean guys bethany i don't even know how you do what you do with the five little kids that you have but
00:42:58.860 i've met three of them and just from what i see on instagram i mean they are brilliant sweet kids and
00:43:06.780 um i just love i just love kind of going along for the instagram ride and watching what you guys do
00:43:13.420 and how engaged you are in your community and how engaged you are in their education too it's not just
00:43:18.860 sitting down and and you know doing math problems although that's important but you're you're going
00:43:25.500 to like colonial williamsburg right and like learning history that way which is so fun which is so fun and
00:43:32.780 amazing um all right that's all we have time for but thank you so much thanks for coming on um and
00:43:38.860 everyone can follow you and go to heroes of liberty.com slash discount slash ally and go check out
00:43:46.780 oh go ahead go ahead what'd you say you can just type in ally with a capital a and it works that way too
00:43:52.460 okay perfect well thank you so much bethany for coming on thank you
