Also, a 19-year-old from Wisconsin displayed amazing courage when he read the Bible at a Pride
00:00:15.140
event a couple weeks ago, then was arrested for it, then took the next public opportunity that he
00:00:21.600
had to share the truth of God's word at a city council meeting. Just amazing stories of people
00:00:29.980
standing up for what's right. That's the theme of today's episode, which is brought to you by

Hey guys, welcome to Relatable. Happy Wednesday. Hope everyone's having a wonderful week so far.
00:00:55.240
Just a reminder again to get your luggage tags to protect your luggage from the weirdo kleptos in
00:01:01.680
the Biden administration who may be stealing your bags to wear women's clothing. But we have these
00:01:10.460
luggage tags that we're selling on AllieMerch.com to ensure that that does not happen to you.
00:01:16.060
We even have a video advertising that we played yesterday. Exactly what happens in these situations
00:01:23.140
when Sam Britton preys upon the luggage at the baggage claim of these unsuspecting women and how
00:01:32.860
our magical, wonderful luggage tag wards off any kind of theft from these crazy people that Biden
00:01:42.540
sees fit to lead our nation. So check that out. AllieMerch.com. You should also be getting your
00:01:49.840
shirts, Do the Next Right Thing shirts. I just got mine in, so I'm not even special. I finally got
00:01:56.420
my black and white Do the Next Right Thing shirt in my husband's chief Relatable. He's going to be so
00:02:03.960
excited about it. My dad wanted one too. This is great Relatable merch. Ladies, if your husband has
00:02:10.500
been waiting for merch that is not so girly for Relatable, then make sure you get him one at
00:02:17.240
AllieMerch.com. Okay, talking about a few things today. I think some positive stories. I mean,
00:02:23.920
this first story that we're talking about, there's some goods and there's bads to it,
00:02:28.220
but it is a theme of people standing up for what is true and what is right. So this first story is
00:02:35.500
about Neo. He reverses his publicist apology for comments against allowing kids to quote unquote
00:02:42.460
transition. So before we even get into that headline, we got to back up because maybe you
00:02:48.060
haven't seen this story. You don't even know who Neo is. So Neo is a pop and R&B artist. He's
00:02:54.280
really most known for writing a lot of songs. Apparently he wrote a few of Rihanna's greatest
00:03:00.800
hits, but he also sang that song Miss Independent. Not Miss Independent, Kelly Clarkson.
00:03:08.520
Not I-N-D-E-P-E-N-D-E-N-T. Not that one, but another Miss Independent. You can look it up on YouTube
00:03:17.660
and it'll probably jog your memory a little bit. Like she's got her own thing. That. I won't sing
00:03:25.000
it all for you because I don't want to show him up because I know that my rendition would be really
00:03:32.040
good. But you can look it up and you'll be like, oh, I remember this from 13 years ago, however long it
00:03:38.000
was that he came out. So that's who he is. That's Neo rapper or pop and R&B artist. His real name is
00:03:46.200
Schaefer Shamir Smith goes by Neo, but he is going viral right now. Not for any of his songs, not for
00:03:53.820
his artistry, but a conversation that he had on Vlad TV with a woman named Gloria Velez. It featured
00:04:03.020
him slamming parents who allow their kids to make quote unquote life-changing decisions through gender
00:04:10.420
quote unquote transition. So here is a clip of that interview that's got people just going wild.
00:04:17.220
Parents have almost, almost forgotten what the role of a parent is. It's like, okay, if your little boy
00:04:23.220
comes to you and says, daddy, I want to be a girl. And you just let him rock with that. You just let,
00:04:28.820
right. He's five. Right. And where did he get that from? If you let this five-year-old boy decide
00:04:34.400
to eat candy all day, he's going to do that. Like when, when did it become a good idea to let a
00:04:39.120
five-year-old, let a six-year-old, let a 12-year-old make a life-changing decision for
00:04:43.140
theyself? He goes on to say some very logical things like, okay, where does this end? What do we
00:04:49.800
allow kids to identify as? Of course, kids aren't going to be able to make good long-term decisions.
00:04:54.700
They don't have the capacity to do that. A very rational take that I guarantee you the vast
00:05:00.140
majority of people in the United States, whether they say it or not, are fully on board with. If a
00:05:06.860
five-year-old boy, a 12-year-old boy comes to you and says, I want to be the opposite sex,
00:05:13.220
it would absolutely be evil, wicked, a dereliction of duty for a parent to say, okay, let's explore that.
00:05:21.580
No, you're leading them down a path that will lead to the destruction of their body
00:05:26.380
and their mind. And now, of course, I am against this concept for adults too, but he's specifically
00:05:33.520
talking about children. I think that we can all, at least most of us, I mean, all rational people
00:05:39.400
can at least align on that, that we should not allow children to make permanent changes to their
00:05:44.720
bodies before their brains are even fully developed. They don't even have the prefrontal cortex to be
00:05:51.080
able to understand long-term consequences. And yet the people that do have fully developed frontal
00:05:56.680
lobes are just saying, okay, let's do it. Puberty blockers, chemical castration, permanent sterility,
00:06:02.120
let's go. And so he's saying something that is very common sense, should not be controversial at all.
00:06:08.820
And yet, of course, because we live in a very stupid, stupid, immoral, backwards Romans 1 time,
00:06:15.000
Romans 1 era, you've got people freaking out about this. So of course, he received backlash on social
00:06:22.860
media. And there were several outlets, several headlines that condemned him as being transphobic.
00:06:34.860
So this is after he issued an apology, which I'll read you in a second. But just to kind of show you
00:06:41.480
the kind of vitriol he was receiving. Neo apologizes for transphobic comments on gender identity. Neo
00:06:48.280
apologizes for transphobic comments, then doubles down. This is the advocate, LA Times,
00:06:54.600
Out Magazine. Neo apologizes for offensive transphobic remarks about trans youth. Complex.
00:07:00.080
Neo apologizes after criticizing parents of transgender children. And so you've got all these
00:07:06.780
outlets just calling him transphobic, but saying that he apologized for these things. Okay,
00:07:11.900
did he apologize for saying what he said? Well, kind of, but not really. So these outlets are just
00:07:19.020
examples. These headlines are just examples of the kind of reaction that he got from the left on social
00:07:25.200
media, on Twitter, on Instagram, after making these statements. And it's funny how they don't even have to
00:07:31.620
like qualify the description. They just say his comments were transphobic, not his comments were
00:07:37.700
true, but they could offend some people. But his comments were representative of an irrational fear
00:07:43.980
of people who identify as the opposite sex, which is what transgender means. But the headlines all
00:07:49.460
cover this apology, which was clearly written by his publicist. And this was posted to his Twitter
00:07:55.700
on August 6th. After much reflection, I'd like to express my deepest apologies to anyone that I may
00:08:02.380
have hurt with my comments on parenting and gender identity. I've always been an advocate for love and
00:08:07.120
inclusivity in the LGBTQI plus community. So I understand how my comments could have been interpreted
00:08:12.800
as insensitive and offensive. Gender identity is nuanced. And I can honestly admit that I plan to
00:08:17.900
better educate myself on the topic so I can approach future conversations with more empathy. At the
00:08:22.980
end of the day, I lead with love and support everyone's freedom of expression and pursuit of
00:08:27.260
happiness. Weak sauce. Weak sauce. Moral relativism that's shrouded in absolutely meaningless,
00:08:37.200
quote unquote, empathetic language that completely discounts the very real harm that this movement,
00:08:45.360
that the idea of gender identity has on people, particularly children. There's nothing that he said that
00:08:51.620
isn't true. And there's nothing in this statement that discounts or even rebuts anything that he
00:08:56.160
said. And he obviously meant what he said, because what he said is not even arguable. And yet, of course,
00:09:05.560
his publicist said, I'm sure you have to put this out. We have to save face. We've got to protect
00:09:11.320
your reputation. And so let's go back on your convictions. Let's pretend like you didn't know what you were
00:09:17.300
talking about. You were just ignorant. You were just stupid and that you didn't really mean what
00:09:22.260
you said. And then we can all move on from that. So people were really disappointed that he put out
00:09:28.660
this apology. People criticized him. Understandably, a lot of conservatives on Twitter criticized him
00:09:33.560
for being a coward, for backing down and saying, oh, yeah, I said that, but I didn't really mean it. I mean,
00:09:40.840
we see this over and over again, caveating, apologizing, covering up, making excuses,
00:09:48.220
going back. I mean, it's just exhausting. Conservatives see it all the time. There are so
00:09:54.160
few people with spying these days to say things that are just undeniably true. And yet, he apparently
00:10:01.620
wasn't satisfied with the apology that his publicist seemingly forced him to put out or had him put out
00:10:10.760
because then he put out another video saying, uh, I don't apologize for what I, for what I said.
00:10:18.060
Okay. Neo then, uh, yesterday on Tuesday posted a video response on his Instagram,
00:10:37.880
um, basically saying, I don't agree with the, uh, apology that my publicist put out.
00:10:47.760
So here's part of that video. I need y'all to hear this from the horse's mouth,
00:10:51.680
not the publicist's computer. So check this out. First and foremost, I do not apologize for having
00:10:56.780
an opinion on this matter. I am a 43 year old heterosexual man raising five boys and two girls.
00:11:04.100
Okay. That's my reality. Now, if my opinion offended somebody, yeah, sure. I apologize for you being
00:11:09.800
offended because that wasn't my intention. My intention is never to offend anybody. However,
00:11:13.700
I'm entitled to feel how I feel. I'm absolutely entitled to feel how I feel the same way you are
00:11:18.980
entitled to feel how you feel. I ain't asked nobody to follow me. I ain't asked nobody to agree with me.
00:11:24.140
I was asked a question and I answered the question. I will never be okay with allowing a child to make
00:11:30.520
a decision that detrimental to their life. I will never be okay with that. I don't care. I definitely
00:11:35.300
plan to educate myself a little bit more on this matter. However, I doubt that there's any book
00:11:40.300
anywhere or any opinion that somebody is going to tell me that's going to make me okay with letting
00:11:45.060
a child make a decision like that. That's just period, point blank. And that's how I feel.
00:11:49.200
If I get canceled for this, then you know what? Maybe this is a world where they don't need a
00:11:52.700
neo no more. Okay. So good for him. I mean, he, I liked the second half of that more than I liked
00:11:59.080
the first half because I think a lot of times when we say something that we know is true, we know
00:12:06.080
is absolutely objectively true. We kind of defend ourselves by saying, well, it's just my opinion.
00:12:13.700
I'm sure that I've done that before. Even it's very tempting to do, but I think that the better
00:12:19.000
option when it comes to something like this is to simply say, it's true. That's how you can defend
00:12:25.620
yourself. It's true. Not just, Hey, it's my opinion. I'm going to educate myself and you can have
00:12:29.760
your own opinion and do your own thing. And he, and the second half of that, like, I do think that he
00:12:35.520
kind of doubles down and says, look, sure, I can educate myself, but I can pretty much guarantee
00:12:41.060
you that there's going to be nothing out there that could possibly change my mind on something
00:12:46.000
this, uh, obviously evil and wrong and warped and backwards. And so good for him. Good for him.
00:12:54.720
Uh, because what he said is true. It's undeniable. It's inarguable. There is absolutely nothing
00:13:02.580
that could convince a rational person that transitioning a child either socially or
00:13:10.640
medically is healthy and good and moral and compassionate. And you might think, well, yeah,
00:13:15.800
no, there are different arguments. Notice that I use the qualifier rational. There are arguments that
00:13:22.700
exist. Certainly are. They're not rational. They're not compassionate. They're not moral.
00:13:28.900
They're not kind. They're not good. They're powered by fear, by wrong ideology, by false beliefs,
00:13:37.320
by profit when it comes to these doctors and pharmaceutical companies, politics, when it
00:13:43.560
comes to these politicians, but it's, it's not powered by rationale or logic or truth or anything
00:13:49.820
like that. Um, so Neo is absolutely right. And you know what? It took bravery to go against what
00:13:56.060
his publicist said. It would have been a lot easier for him to just say, you know what,
00:14:01.740
whatever. My publicist handled it. I'm just not going to talk about it anymore. I'm just
00:14:06.360
going to kind of let it go away. People will stop criticizing me and pushing back on me as
00:14:12.240
soon as, you know, I just kind of let it die down. He didn't have to post the follow-up
00:14:18.340
video doubling down on his position, but he did. So good for him. Good for him. I hope that
00:14:24.160
his kids look at this and say, you know what? My dad stood for something, even though it was
00:14:28.680
controversial, shouldn't be controversial, but it is. He decided to be, as we say on this
00:14:33.500
show, salmon and swim upstream. That's not easy to do in Hollywood. That's not easy to
00:14:37.840
do in the music industry. That's not easy to do when popular opinion is against you,
00:14:43.140
when it costs you a lot. It shouldn't cost you anything, but it costs you a lot to say
00:14:47.620
something as simple as I don't think 10 year old boys should be chemically castrated.
00:14:52.040
And it's actually, we should affirm that the body that they have been given, the body that
00:14:56.700
they were born in is good. That it tells them something about who they are and that no matter
00:15:01.800
what their feelings are, they should mutilate that body to try to change that body to try to do
00:15:06.940
something that is not possible nor beneficial for them. So you know what? Good for Neo. Neo stood up to
00:15:15.120
the mob mostly. And I hope that he continues to. We'll see because I guarantee you he is going to
00:15:21.540
continue to get backlash. Like we see stuff like this and the LGBTQ lobby, the activist groups,
00:15:29.360
the media, they don't let it go. They're like a pit bull. They can't. They lock their jaw on,
00:15:37.460
in our metaphor, a toddler, and they just can't. They just can't let go. That's basically what the
00:15:43.360
media is. They're like a pit bull attacking a toddler. They just can't let it go until they get what
00:15:50.820
they want. And so I hope that Neo stands strong. I hope he stands strong for his kids. I hope he
00:15:57.320
stands strong for truth because he's absolutely right. And we need more people who are not your
00:16:02.040
like typical Christian conservative whatever saying this simple fact, which again should not receive
00:16:11.400
any pushback whatsoever. But it just goes to show how crazy things have gotten that this is even a
00:16:17.560
story that we have to talk about. But our next story is also a story of courage that I really
00:16:24.820
wanted to highlight because it should give us courage. We say a lot that courage is contagious.
00:16:30.900
Courage begets courage in other people. We raise a respectful ruckus for the things that matter,
00:16:37.320
hoping that doing so will be a contagion for those around us as we stand up for things that are good
00:16:43.040
and right and true. And this young man by the name of Marcus Schroeder, who's 19, was arrested for
00:16:50.520
reading from the Bible aloud at a Wisconsin Pride event recently. And then he shared the gospel at a
00:16:57.200
city council meeting and of course got a lot of pushback for that because people hate the gospel.
00:17:02.480
So let me read you summaries from the Republican Sentinel, which is the original report of this,
00:17:09.960
So several members of a Christian group, Warriors for Christ, were evangelizing at the Watertown,
00:17:14.840
Wisconsin Pride in the Park event on Saturday, July 29th. So Pride, not exclusive to June,
00:17:20.960
apparently has to go on and on throughout the year. And the video circulating on social media,
00:17:25.120
Marcus Schroeder is seen reading from the Bible into a microphone when officers surround him and grab
00:17:30.220
his microphone. As his group questions the officers, they handcuff Schroeder and explain that he was
00:17:35.320
being arrested for violating a sound ordinance about noise amplification. So let me play you a video
00:18:01.500
You didn't give him any warning. You just grab the mic.
00:18:03.160
No, this is the same one that we had over here.
00:18:07.920
They said we can speak out here on the sidewalk freely.
00:18:28.300
He has every right to be out here engaging in speech.
00:18:37.920
Jason Storms, a fellow ministry member who filmed the encounter, told reporters that police
00:18:43.240
had also arrested three other young people from their group who were praying and talking
00:18:49.260
Now, no matter what, I don't think that this is right, but I do just want to say it's not
00:18:53.940
like he was reading even the most offensive passages from scripture about things like
00:19:00.720
It sounds like just from what I heard that he was reading Galatians 5, 14 through 15
00:19:06.580
or through 16, rather, for the whole law is fulfilled in one word, you shall love your
00:19:14.000
But if you bite and devour one another, watch out that you are not consumed by one another.
00:19:18.540
But I say, walk by the spirit and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.
00:19:24.000
So he got in trouble for reading that out loud at this pride parade.
00:19:29.920
So this other ministry member, this member of this group, Jason Storms, claimed that performers
00:19:35.380
at the pride event, which was advertised as family friendly, were dressed in lingerie and
00:19:39.760
danced inappropriately in front of little children who were invited to give them $1 bills.
00:19:45.200
The Unity Project of Watertown, which organized the event, encouraged families to attend, telling
00:19:50.260
the media there would be a drag story hour and a children's craft and play area.
00:19:55.300
And if you look at some of the pictures of what's going on here, some of the drag queens,
00:20:02.040
the men dressed up as women who are performing, I don't even actually know what gender these
00:20:08.980
people are, but they're dressed very explicitly.
00:20:17.600
But has, you know, this person has fishnet tights on, like a bra on, and apparently this
00:20:26.400
Now, what's interesting is that according to the Republican Sentinel, is that there is
00:20:32.860
a law in Wisconsin that forbids individuals from causing a minor to view or listen to sexually
00:20:40.240
But when it comes to the law that apparently Marcus and his friends violated, it seems like
00:20:50.160
They said the police officers said, we're arresting you for violating some kind of sound ordinance
00:20:58.000
But as far as I could see, this is according to Vicki McKenna.
00:21:05.200
She claimed on her show when she was talking to Marcus Schroeder that through her research,
00:21:09.300
she found that the ordinance in Watertown, specifically in Wisconsin, for amplification
00:21:13.960
without a permit applies only to vehicles, not sidewalk preaching, which is protected
00:21:20.500
And of course, I'm assuming that at this event, they also had other people with microphones.
00:21:25.460
And so it seems like this was kind of a bogus accusation.
00:21:32.200
He absolutely denies that, says that's not true.
00:21:36.240
He was tense, but he didn't resist arrest, he says.
00:21:39.300
Um, uh, there was at this event, which was very disturbing, um, there was a performer
00:21:47.060
He's a 16 year old drag performer who's been performing drag since he was 13.
00:21:51.800
He was named Miss Wisconsin, uh, youth entertainer in 2022 is also featured on generation drag in
00:22:00.780
So this was just absolutely a degenerate gathering.
00:22:03.400
These Christian men trying to come together to say some sort of truth, to preach the gospel
00:22:09.020
to these very lost and perverse people, and then were arrested for doing so.
00:22:16.320
Now Schroeder said that he believes that it was absolutely worth, um, taking this risk.
00:22:23.200
And one of his friends, Nick Prohl, also said that he said, I do it all over again.
00:22:29.660
And he said, also making headlines or the report says also making headlines for this event was
00:22:34.400
a group of Neo Nazis who arrived wearing all black, waving swastika flags and trying to
00:22:42.800
And of course, critics of Schroeder and his friends who got arrested, the other Christians
00:22:47.480
there are trying to conflate these two groups saying like, look, this is what side you're
00:22:52.240
You're trying to oppose drag queen story hour and minors dressed as scantily clad women
00:23:04.960
And then after that, he attended a city council meeting recently where he spoke and he talked
00:23:10.180
about, hey, we were not affiliated with those Nazis.
00:23:12.340
And he also had the opportunity to share the gospel.
00:23:14.780
And I'm going to play you those videos in just a second.
00:23:30.380
So Marcus Schroeder, this 19 year old kid who got arrested, um, he got up at a city council
00:23:38.480
And he said this, he said, I know a Nazi group showed up.
00:23:45.020
I just wanted all for all of us to really think about this.
00:23:52.920
And, uh, he uses this obviously to distinguish his group despite accusations from the Nazis,
00:24:00.180
but he's using this as a question to get people to think about the existence of objective,
00:24:07.520
universal morality, the existence of right and wrong.
00:24:12.360
And to make people think, why, why do you believe in a right and wrong, which is a great
00:24:18.140
Christian apologetics tactic, uh, that we've seen several times throughout history.
00:24:22.040
I think one of the most notable is in, um, CS Lewis is mere Christianity.
00:24:30.140
I just wanted for all of us to really think about this.
00:24:39.420
Because imagine for a moment that there is no God above us, no hub below us, no heaven
00:24:49.100
If we are truly the result of evolved stardust and our ancestors were fish and were the descendants
00:24:54.580
of monkeys, then where do we find our value as human beings?
00:24:58.260
He then goes on to explain that if it weren't for the Christian worldview that tells us murdering
00:25:04.380
innocent image bearers is wrong, there wouldn't be a problem.
00:25:09.460
He also says that Christians were the number one people, uh, the number one group to oppose
00:25:15.660
So his point is that without the existence of a God, without the existence of a moral arbiter,
00:25:23.140
a great moral law giver, then there is no reason to say that anything is objectively wrong.
00:25:33.540
If there's no one who ultimately places in our hearts the understanding of good and bad,
00:25:38.800
right and wrong, we have no authority to look at Nazi Germany or look at Pol Pot or look at
00:25:45.260
any human rights atrocity anywhere throughout history or anywhere on earth and say that that
00:25:50.260
is objectively wrong. Um, and so again, this is a point that is well articulated by C.S. Lewis and
00:25:57.020
mere Christianity. And so he is kind of pointing out the hypocrisy here that Christians are called
00:26:02.440
judgmental for saying some things are wrong. And yet the world is okay with saying a lot of things
00:26:07.220
are objectively wrong, like Nazism, which of course I agree with, but there is a reason why Nazism
00:26:12.020
is wrong. And it's because there is a great moral law giver who, as Marcus says, made us in his image.
00:26:19.600
And then he goes on, uh, to talk a little bit more about Christian morality. Here's what he says.
00:26:27.020
As we become more and more tolerant of sexual immorality in our culture,
00:26:30.480
we've become more and more intolerant towards Christian morality. And the more we become
00:26:35.480
intolerant towards Christian morality, the more we're going to see lawlessness in our streets.
00:26:40.700
The more we become intolerant of Christian morality, the more we're going to see Nazis.
00:26:45.120
The more we're going to see people who don't hold to a Christian worldview, who think that everybody
00:26:49.920
is a result of animals. Drag queens twerking on kids in lingerie is unacceptable. And that's something
00:26:56.020
that we have to notice as a culture. We can have our disagreements, but there comes a time when we
00:27:01.260
have to understand that we are all going to stand before God one day. And we're going to have to give
00:27:05.920
an account for what we have done with the children in our society, the innocent minds and the children
00:27:14.000
So good for him. So I said that he shared the gospel. We didn't share a clip of him sharing the
00:27:19.480
gospel, but he does share biblical truth that I think is really, um, important there. And obviously
00:27:26.200
he believes in the gospel and he was sharing God's inerrant word and he got arrested for that.
00:27:33.040
And then rather than cowering in a corner and saying, I'm not going to talk about this anymore
00:27:37.080
because I don't want to take the arrows for it. He decided that he was going to speak out again
00:27:41.840
at a city council meeting. And I just commend him for that. And, um, I praise God for the courage of
00:27:47.600
young people that exists. And even though this is something that makes headlines or that has made
00:27:52.700
headlines that has kind of gone viral, at least in the Christian media sphere, it's a good reminder
00:27:58.320
that this kind of thing happens on a daily basis, not just here in the United States, but also around
00:28:03.500
the world. Like there are Christians that are standing up that are counting the costs and have
00:28:07.740
decided that following Jesus, that denying themselves, taking up their cross and following
00:28:12.700
Christ is absolutely worth it. It's worth the arrests. It's worth the pushback. It's worth the bullying.
00:28:18.580
It's worth losing their job. It's worth hurting their reputation. It's worth even going to the
00:28:24.360
point of death. And so this is just one small example of the courage that the Holy Spirit gives.
00:28:31.520
I hope it gives us courage as well to remind us that we were not given a spirit of fear and timidity,
00:28:37.380
but one of power because of the gospel. That this is just one, in the grand scheme of things,
00:28:42.800
small example of the courage that Christians have displayed throughout history,
00:28:46.280
not because of our own strength, but because of Christ in us. And this is happening in a much
00:28:52.320
bigger way and even more consequential ways around the world throughout the church. And that is
00:28:58.240
the power that God gives us. It's the power that he's always given the church. The power that
00:29:02.720
he displayed in the beginning 2,000 years ago is still alive in us today. And we have the complete
00:29:10.840
capability and the power, the authority to be able to speak as this young man is speaking. So I just
00:29:17.940
hope that the Lord continues to use him, that his courage is contagious, that he, in the midst of all
00:29:23.660
this craziness and chaos that we see in the world, that he does raise up young people that are unafraid
00:29:28.600
to say what is good and right and true. Marcus is getting a lot of praise online, as he should,
00:29:38.060
from fellow Christians for his courage. So I just wanted to make sure that we highlight that. We've
00:29:43.040
had several stories of these, of young men standing up for what is right, saying the unpopular thing. And
00:29:50.100
as much as I can, I want to shine light on things like this because I know, especially in the generation
00:29:56.040
of like, online bullying, that just always go with the flow, it seems, and are typically, it appears
00:30:04.520
in Gen Z, not very thoughtful about the issues of the day, especially from a biblical perspective. I want to
00:30:10.200
give us some hope that there are and that God will always choose and raise out the people that he wants
00:30:15.800
to raise up. All right, we're going to talk about another positive story with negative reactions to it.
00:30:26.040
Okay, so I wanted to talk about this story in Texas. This is the headline from Outkick. Texas Governor
00:30:42.340
Greg Abbott signs Save Women's Sports Acts while protesters outside chant Save Trans Lives. So this is
00:30:49.340
actually ceremonial. This was a bill that he signed into law in Texas, the Save Women's Sports Act, but this
00:30:59.960
was ceremonial. So he was in Denton, Texas, which is the home to Texas Women's University. The law seeks to
00:31:07.320
prohibit biological men, this is the language used in Outkick, that's not the language that I use,
00:31:16.060
as I just say, men pretending to be women, from competing in women's sports. Protesters also
00:31:22.000
showed up at the event. The videos that I've seen are just absolutely vile and disgusting, vitriolic,
00:31:28.440
these protesters who think that men should have the right to enter into women's private spaces and
00:31:34.620
their competitions. Governor Abbott said this, the legacy of women's sports will be safeguarded for
00:31:40.700
generations to come because of the law I'm about to sign. Women in Texas can be assured that the
00:31:45.480
integrity of their sports is protected in our great state. Riley Gaines, whom we've had on this
00:31:51.940
podcast, she's actually the host of an Outkick podcast, I didn't know that, Gaines for Girls.
00:31:57.680
She has been at the signing of a lot of these bills. Again, good for her. She's had so much courage
00:32:02.060
since she was forced to compete against a man named Leah Thomas. She says this new law will protect
00:32:07.080
the integrity of women's sports by prohibiting men from competing against women's athletes at Texas
00:32:13.660
colleges and universities. So there are a lot of tweets saying F Greg Abbott, all this stuff,
00:32:22.840
and organizing this protest. There was a protest at Texas Women's University. And no, they were not just
00:32:31.520
expressing their opinion, which of course they are free under the First Amendment to do. They were
00:32:37.260
also trying to cause violence. And they had their ridiculous signs basically saying that men are
00:32:45.160
women and have the right to go into women's spaces with their baby colored flags and saying all kinds of
00:32:51.440
ridiculous and absolutely delusional and hateful things. And as I said, throwing bottles and saying all
00:32:57.720
kinds of awful things about and to Greg Abbott. And yet he stood strong. Good for him. There are a lot
00:33:04.960
of governors in a lot of different red states who have said, no, we're going to protect children.
00:33:09.780
We're going to protect women's rights. We're going to protect women's sports. And the activists can just
00:33:15.980
be mad. And I completely support that. Activists can leave. You can leave if you want to. If you think
00:33:22.780
that men have the right to be in women's spaces, if you think it's possible for a man to become a woman,
00:33:27.360
if you think it's possible for a woman to become a man, if you think it's good or beneficial in any
00:33:32.500
way for a healthy child to be placed on puberty blockers, for a minor to receive a double mastectomy
00:33:38.280
or to get breast augmentation to try to be the opposite sex, and you don't like the laws that
00:33:45.260
are being passed in the red states, I highly recommend you move to Portland or Seattle. I hear
00:33:50.160
it's absolutely beautiful this time of year. If you don't like it, you don't have to live here.
00:33:57.020
Isn't that what we're always told as conservatives? Oh, it's a free country. You can move anywhere you
00:34:05.060
want to. Or this is a private company. It's okay if they suppress your speech. It's okay if they
00:34:11.120
discriminate against you because of your views. They can do what they want to do. You can start
00:34:16.260
your own company. You can start your own tech platform. You can leave. You can do something else.
00:34:23.200
All right. Well, if you don't like these common sense, compassionate laws that are being passed
00:34:29.660
to protect women and children, then you can go somewhere else that aligns with your values.
00:34:37.320
That's not to say they don't have the First Amendment right to dissent and to express their
00:34:42.900
opposing views. That's fine. But if you literally cannot handle laws like this being passed without
00:34:49.200
pitching violent temper tantrums, then I'm just not sure if red states are the place for you.
00:34:54.800
Like, I'm not sure if the people around you really want to be your neighbors. It seems like you'd be a
00:34:58.940
lot happier in a place like San Francisco or in a place like Portland or New York City or all of
00:35:06.260
these cities that have just become so wonderful and thriving and safe from the progressive policies
00:35:12.160
that you say that you love. So just try it out. I'm sure that we could organize even like a GoFundMe
00:35:19.340
if you need someone to cover your moving services or something like that. But I just don't have a whole
00:35:24.480
lot of tolerance and a whole lot of respect for dialogue with people that think it's okay for men
00:35:30.140
to go into women's bathrooms. I'm sorry. We're no longer having any kind of rational conversation.
00:35:35.820
Um, I can't really have a respectful debate with someone who believes that a child should be placed
00:35:42.920
on Lupron and chemical castrate. It's just not even, it's not a discussion that I want to have. So
00:35:48.700
I would recommend the people who are so angry about very logical bills like this to just
00:35:53.900
head on out, to head on out. All right. So we've got some good stories today, right? Like they were
00:35:59.720
pretty, pretty positive. Some good examples of courage. All we can do in our own lives,
00:36:05.960
it might not be like signing a bill for you. It might not be making a video for your millions
00:36:11.280
of followers. It might not be protesting at some kind of pride or drag event or speaking at city
00:36:16.760
council. Maybe it will be those things. Maybe it's standing up to your school board. Maybe it is running
00:36:21.960
for office. Maybe it is some big public display of courage, but maybe it's not. Maybe it's courage in
00:36:27.360
your private conversations. Maybe it's courage in your own life to simply do the next right thing
00:36:32.480
in faith with excellence and for the glory of God. And to decide right now that when your courage is
00:36:38.160
tested, that you are not going to compromise. That's all any of us can do. And to hope and to
00:36:43.820
pray for the power of the Holy Spirit, that when it does come time to actually speak the truth and do
00:36:49.900
what's right, that we will do it without fear of other people's opinions. So I'm glad to see that
00:36:55.200
there are people who are willing to make that stand.
00:37:10.540
All right, guys, tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow is our last day before maternity leave. Tomorrow is our
00:37:18.600
last episode before maternity leave, which is pretty exciting. Of course, I'm going to
00:37:25.100
miss y'all. But as you know, we've got new episodes coming out every day or Monday through
00:37:32.980
Thursday when I'm gone. So you don't have to worry your little head and heart about missing
00:37:38.440
relatable. We have so many amazing conversations coming down the pipeline that I'm so excited for
00:37:43.820
you to listen to. Also some Q and A's where I answer your most pressing questions. Make sure you
00:37:49.080
listen to those, share those with your friends. Hopefully they start a lot of good conversations
00:37:53.180
because there's a lot of like very edifying discussions and very interesting discussions
00:37:57.860
that have been had. We're talking to Ken Ham. This is just one I thought of Ken Ham about if
00:38:03.660
dinosaurs are really what are depicted today. I'm so excited for you to listen to that conversation.
00:38:09.920
I learned so much. There's so many different conversations like that that are coming out that
00:38:13.720
I'm so excited for you to listen to. Let's see if you love this podcast, leave a five star review.
00:38:18.980
Make sure that you subscribe on YouTube as well. That would mean so much to us and we will see you
