TikTok is the fastest growing app in social media history and the biggest app where people are vocally in support of Palestine. 00:00:00.000 On January 19th, U.S. Congress might actually finally follow through and ban TikTok from America, but we should not ban TikTok.
00:00:07.940 Let's go see what New York City thinks about it, but we should keep TikTok.
00:00:11.240 We need free speech, and that's why the U.S. government is threatened by it.
00:00:30.000 TikTok is the fastest growing app in social media history and the biggest app where people are vocally in support of Palestine.
00:00:36.660 That's why they're threatened.
00:00:37.540 If they cared about data mining and they cared about user safety and information, then Zuckerberg would have faced some real problems.
00:00:43.520 Although it was probably the source of the most brain rot in recorded human history, and a lot of people are going to need to get a job.
00:00:48.980 The ban of TikTok coincides too perfectly with Zuckerberg's transition into a MAGA bro.
00:00:54.440 Banning TikTok gives too much power to companies like Meta, and we saw what they were really about during COVID.
00:00:59.560 Yeah, do what you want to do, you know?
00:01:01.640 It's okay, we're on Redbook now.
00:01:03.340 Are you already on that?
00:01:04.060 Yeah, we're on Redbook now.
00:01:05.220 Jaohengshu all the way, you know what I'm saying? 0.92
00:01:07.520 Jaohengshu.
00:01:08.460 What show, Jose?
00:01:09.820 What?
00:01:10.400 Ni hao ma, what show, Elliot?
00:01:12.020 Hi.
00:01:12.580 You learn really quick.
00:01:13.520 What does that mean?
00:01:14.420 It's just hello, like, yeah, that's our name, you know? 0.92
00:01:16.480 We got to introduce ourselves on, you know, like, Jaohengshu and shit. 0.96
00:01:19.360 You guys are ahead of the trends. 0.91
00:01:20.560 Yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:01:21.200 What's the app called again?
00:01:23.000 Jaohengshu, but it's like Little Redbook or like Little Redbook in English.
00:01:26.460 And it's owned by Singapore too?
00:01:27.780 Nah, that one's China. 0.99
00:01:28.420 Nah, that's just China.
00:01:29.000 That's straight up just China. 0.87
00:01:30.700 Okay.
00:01:31.180 So it's like people are doing it as a way to, like, rebel. 0.99
00:01:33.860 Because, like, apparently, like, they're like, oh, you think it's China and shit? 0.94
00:01:36.400 So we're actually going to go to China, like a Chinese app. 0.99
00:01:38.960 So they're going to that and, like, rebelling and shit. 0.98
00:01:41.740 Big up Mao Zedong. 0.98
00:01:43.100 Yeah, Mao Zedong.
00:01:43.920 Shout out to Mao Zedong. 0.93
00:01:44.940 You know?
00:01:49.980 You're actually really impressive with the Mandarin.
00:01:51.860 I should know Mandarin better than you. 0.79
00:01:53.380 Bro, you got to lock in.
00:01:54.620 I'm going to dial that right now.
00:01:55.560 Jaohengshu, baby.
00:01:56.980 Jaohengshu. 1.00
00:01:57.940 Oh, fuck this. 1.00
00:01:58.440 Put Little Redbook on this shit. 1.00
00:01:59.740 You don't think that they're going to ban TikTok? 1.00
00:02:01.160 Oh, well, there's too much opposition, man.
00:02:02.740 They cannot ban something that everybody loves, man.
00:02:05.020 Come on.
00:02:05.660 You love TikTok?
00:02:06.580 Yeah, yeah. 0.99
00:02:07.220 I'm on TikTok all the fucking time. 0.99
00:02:09.060 But it's owned by a foreign entity. 0.99
00:02:10.520 So what?
00:02:11.340 Well, what would you do if TikTok did get banned?
00:02:13.520 Elon Musk?
00:02:13.960 I commit suicide.
00:02:14.620 I love TikTok. 0.99
00:02:15.800 You commit suicide? 0.98
00:02:16.580 Yes. 0.94
00:02:16.900 How would you do it? 0.54
00:02:19.220 With a very dull knife.
00:02:21.280 Would you be okay if TikTok was gone?
00:02:23.460 Yeah.
00:02:23.740 Isn't there that new Chinese streaming one called like Red One or something?
00:02:27.500 Jaohengshu.
00:02:29.820 Yes.
00:02:30.760 That's something interesting.
00:02:32.180 Would you be okay if Elon Musk bought TikTok?
00:02:34.180 No.
00:02:34.600 No.
00:02:34.900 Not even a little bit.
00:02:35.740 I'm not okay with him in general.
00:02:36.640 But I think everyone would leave.
00:02:38.060 He believes it.
00:02:39.360 What's wrong with Elon Musk?
00:02:41.080 Everything.
00:02:41.660 Everything.
00:02:42.340 Can you name two things?
00:02:44.220 I mean, there's something inherently wrong with billionaires to begin with.
00:02:47.100 The relationship with Trump makes me uncomfortable.
00:02:49.400 That's very...
00:02:49.880 I don't like Teslas.
00:02:51.300 I think the whole dark Gothic MAGA thing was super gross and weird.
00:02:55.040 Yeah. 0.71
00:02:55.140 And his whole approach to politics is really twisted.
00:02:57.700 I don't think he treated his wife nicely.
00:02:59.740 Which one?
00:03:00.960 Grimes.
00:03:01.600 So you don't like X?
00:03:03.160 The Twitter?
00:03:04.100 Yeah.
00:03:04.520 No.
00:03:05.780 I used to like it when it was Twitter.
00:03:07.520 Yeah, I don't have it anymore.
00:03:08.360 When it became X, I deleted it.
00:03:09.900 Look at this guy.
00:03:10.800 This is incredible.
00:03:11.980 He's just ordering the pigeons down. 0.90
00:03:13.940 He's the one who killed Trump.
00:03:15.500 He didn't even...
00:03:16.000 He doesn't even have, like, bread. 0.99
00:03:17.540 What the fuck is... 0.99
00:03:18.160 You know, it's funny. 1.00
00:03:18.520 They're saying China's stealing our information, but didn't Meta steal all of it openly? 0.75
00:03:21.680 And there was a court case about it?
00:03:22.800 And nothing changed.
00:03:23.760 We didn't ban Meta.
00:03:24.500 I don't know the true intention.
00:03:25.300 I don't think that's the true intention because they think it's China.
00:03:27.660 They think it's been behind it.
00:03:29.000 But...
00:03:29.220 What do you think the true intention is?
00:03:30.180 Is that TikTok is the most vocal free Palestine app and they want to silence that?
00:03:33.640 Amen.
00:03:34.280 That's what I say is... 1.00
00:03:35.880 Shit. 1.00
00:03:37.020 What the fuck? 1.00
00:03:38.360 Man, you feel me? 1.00
00:03:39.020 Of course.
00:03:39.620 Of course.
00:03:40.040 I don't think it's true. 0.99
00:03:40.840 I mean, bro, like, we get on TikTok to watch funny clips and shit, bro. 0.99
00:03:43.440 We're not going on there selling information to China type shit. 0.99
00:03:45.940 You feel me? 0.99
00:03:47.340 Are you live streaming?
00:03:48.460 No, no.
00:03:48.820 I'm just recording a video.
00:03:51.180 You seem very suspicious.
00:03:53.360 Oh, I just...
00:03:54.160 I just know who you are.
00:03:55.980 Okay.
00:03:56.460 Good things or bad things?
00:03:59.200 I guess it depends on how you take them.
00:04:00.720 So what would you say to U.S. Congress?
00:04:02.580 Because they could still change their minds in five days.
00:04:06.340 Hey, guys.
00:04:07.220 Please don't do that.
00:04:08.680 Don't mind TikTok.
00:04:09.960 Please.
00:04:10.720 I'd prefer for it to stay.
00:04:12.320 So I'd rather they just keep it up.
00:04:14.640 But, you know, that's just me.
00:04:15.820 Yeah.
00:04:16.140 I feel like it's very relevant while they're asking questions like, are you a part of the
00:04:20.000 CCP?
00:04:20.700 Have you ever been a part of the CCP?
00:04:22.040 This is a bit of an odd question to ask to somebody who keeps reaffirming the fact that
00:04:26.060 he is not Chinese and that he's from Singapore. 0.99
00:04:28.700 But, like, that sucks. 0.99
00:04:30.080 Like, that really sucks. 0.98
00:04:31.040 Are you not excited that Elon Musk is potentially buying TikTok? 0.97
00:04:33.680 No.
00:04:35.920 What?
00:04:36.820 I hate Elon Musk.
00:04:39.140 Why?
00:04:39.500 I don't really believe in ethical billionaires.
00:04:41.540 So I don't really like it.
00:04:43.580 Do people at NYU like Elon Musk?
00:04:45.120 What makes you say that I'm an NYU student?
00:04:48.380 You hear a wash and you speak like one. 1.00
00:04:51.020 Damn. 1.00
00:04:51.620 That's fucked up. 1.00
00:04:52.720 Am I right? 0.99
00:04:53.520 I am right, though.
00:04:55.080 I don't know about that.
00:04:56.160 I'm right.
00:04:57.140 What about Elon Musk?
00:04:58.200 Would you be happy if you bought it?
00:04:59.560 No. 1.00
00:05:00.340 I would fuck with him. 1.00
00:05:01.060 But if he buys it and keeps it, sure. 1.00
00:05:03.320 No.
00:05:03.720 I don't think he should.
00:05:04.500 I like Elon Musk.
00:05:05.440 All the people here don't like him.
00:05:06.580 I don't.
00:05:06.800 What is the reason why?
00:05:07.580 I don't like him.
00:05:08.560 I have my reasons, but I'm not the reason.
00:05:09.520 He's an African-American man.
00:05:11.580 Okay.
00:05:14.940 Yeah.
00:05:20.460 Oh, my Lord.
00:05:21.520 All right.
00:05:21.760 Let's get out of here.
00:05:22.720 I was one of the first people on TikTok.
00:05:24.420 They gave me a deal in 2019, 2020, and I didn't trust it or take it seriously at all because
00:05:28.880 TikTok is very clearly one of the largest sources of modern-day brain rot that we've ever seen.
00:05:34.000 The way people speak, their mannerisms, their way of thinking, it's all programmed and dialed
00:05:39.720 into TikTok now, and I don't like it, but it's better than what the alternative could
00:05:43.800 be.
00:05:44.240 U.S. Congress, I hope you stop lying and pretending like you're trying to protect American citizens
00:05:48.100 from foreign interests like China.
00:05:49.840 You want a monopoly on information, and TikTok is a threat to that.
00:05:52.920 We need free speech, and we need TikTok.
00:05:54.280 There's a new wave emerging in New York City of apolitical people.
00:06:04.720 Here, it used to be cool to be a liberal, and now you see that girl got a shame, and I'm
00:06:08.640 like, you go to NYU.
00:06:09.440 She's like, how?
00:06:10.060 No, I ain't.
00:06:10.640 Yeah, you do.
00:06:11.460 I can hear it in your voice.
00:06:12.860 It's no longer cool or anti-establishment to be a gender pronoun rainbow flag wear and 0.85
00:06:19.340 lib.
00:06:19.680 Same thing on the far right.
00:06:20.760 So many of them have been subverted by different foreign entities that claim to be America 1.00
00:06:24.820 first, but they so obviously aren't.
00:06:26.640 The new wave is finding the truth on both sides, is being apolitical and not being fully
00:06:31.840 attached to politics, but being somebody who's a truth seeker.
00:06:35.160 If you fully identify with a party and an ideology, you are susceptible to being brainwashed
00:06:39.900 or being part of something that you disagree with fundamentally.
00:06:42.660 People on both sides don't like brain rot.
00:06:44.300 People on both sides don't want foreign countries to control our minds.
00:06:48.420 People on both sides don't want billionaires to lie and be able to pretend that they're
00:06:52.780 now one of us.
00:06:54.100 We could all agree upon that.
00:06:55.320 That has nothing to do with the party.
00:06:57.020 And although it would be easy for me to be vengeful to want TikTok to be banned after
00:07:00.620 I was so heavily censored, the fact that this app was the most vocal about saying free
00:07:05.060 Palestine is objectively a good thing. 1.00
00:07:07.500 There's not an ounce of me that thinks that the US Congress cares about China data mining
00:07:11.480 their citizens.
00:07:12.420 What it's really about is their fear of not being able to control the narrative again.
00:07:16.380 Popular, I know I'm a popular, and with an assist from me to be who you'll be, instead
00:07:24.820 of dreary who you were.
00:07:26.680 Do you know what they're, like, what are they doing?
00:07:28.980 They're just acting.
00:07:30.040 Acting, like the same way they do the show.
00:07:31.800 Are you sneaky, though?
00:07:32.680 Yeah, how you doing?
00:07:33.260 It's a TV show, Severance.
00:07:35.160 Oh, nice.
00:07:35.800 Yeah.
00:07:36.180 Want help?
00:07:36.940 Thank you.
00:07:37.620 Yes.
00:07:38.040 Yes.
00:07:38.360 Yes.
00:07:42.380 Of course.
00:07:43.180 Hey, what's up, dude pal?
00:07:50.080 Yo, what's up, New Yorker?
00:07:51.880 What's your favorite color?
00:07:53.860 Uh, probably red.
00:07:55.520 We're from the Berkshire Waldorf School.
00:07:57.540 You're from the Waldorf School?
00:07:59.140 Yeah.
00:07:59.700 Is this your first time in Grand Central?
00:08:01.860 Uh, no.
00:08:02.500 I lived here for four years.
00:08:04.180 Oh, four years.
00:08:04.920 It's nice to meet you.
00:08:05.580 What's your name?
00:08:06.720 Amen.
00:08:07.040 What's yours?
00:08:07.840 My name is Hubert.
00:08:09.480 Cool.
00:08:10.140 Nice name.
00:08:10.680 Okay, I have to go eat some oysters now.
00:08:13.820 Yeah, I have to go out on my train.
00:08:16.500 Okay, don't miss your train.
00:08:17.780 Bye.
00:08:18.420 Bye.
00:08:19.980 It's like I was at Adam Scott.
00:08:23.260 I do got old.
00:08:24.500 Look at Ben Stillo up to the right.
00:08:26.540 He's filming on his phone.
00:08:36.340 See if I'm in the show.
00:08:37.280 Apple TV, you better be in this show now.
00:08:44.240 What do you think about the U.S. Congress potentially banning TikTok?
00:08:47.080 I don't like it.
00:08:47.680 I don't like it, yeah.
00:08:48.660 I feel like I can't live it up.
00:08:50.220 TikTok is our lives at this point.
00:08:51.740 TikTok is like part of us.
00:08:53.640 It's part of your life?
00:08:54.700 Yeah.
00:08:55.220 What are you going to do if they ban TikTok?
00:08:56.660 I don't know.
00:08:57.320 Instagram reels?
00:08:58.260 Yeah.
00:08:58.700 Might have to move on to Instagram reels.
00:09:00.060 Yeah, YouTube shorts.
00:09:00.980 What's your favorite source of brain rot?
00:09:04.020 YouTube shorts.
00:09:04.960 Favorite app to get brain rot.
00:09:06.360 Oh, oh.
00:09:07.140 But definitely TikTok, actually.
00:09:08.000 TikTok.
00:09:08.280 Definitely TikTok.
00:09:08.900 Yeah.
00:09:09.300 Okay.
00:09:09.900 What if Elon Musk buys TikTok?
00:09:11.320 Will it get better or worse?
00:09:12.620 Worse. 1.00
00:09:13.380 He's going to increase paywalls, all that shit. 0.99
00:09:15.680 Bro, what do you do? 0.99
00:09:16.100 Paywalls on Twitter.
00:09:17.260 Remember X?
00:09:17.680 Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:09:18.560 Yeah, what'd he say?
00:09:19.620 That was Ben Stillo there.
00:09:21.200 I think I got the shot of him with the Joe Biden aviators on.
00:09:24.440 And it's funny seeing these Hollywood people in real life.
00:09:26.560 It's like, wait, weren't you saying you were going to move to Canada when Trump got elected?
00:09:29.700 And you're here in Grand Central making a terrible TV show?
00:09:32.760 Hey, buddy, get out of my country.
00:09:34.560 Get out of my country, Ben Stillo.
00:09:36.100 This is the J-Train on Chambers Street.
00:09:39.020 Probably the dustiest stop in the city.
00:09:41.360 It looks abandoned.
00:09:42.460 What's up?
00:09:42.840 Somebody like you taking the train.
00:09:44.420 Same thing you're doing on the train.
