00:00:01.000 It's always good to be back home.
00:00:04.000 It's 5.30.
00:00:06.000 Casey Neistat wants to go on a run.
00:00:28.000 Welcome back to Neistat. 0.93
00:00:30.000 What's bad?
00:00:32.000 What's happening in that background?
00:00:37.000 I made it.
00:00:38.000 5.30 a.m. Casey.
00:00:40.000 Let's go.
00:00:41.000 I was having a 5.15.
00:00:42.000 I'm sorry.
00:00:43.000 I ended up leading a little earlier.
00:00:45.000 I felt a little bad that I'm late, but...
00:00:48.000 I ran across the bridge at back.
00:00:49.000 Oh, you did?
00:00:50.000 Yeah.
00:00:51.000 How you feeling?
00:00:52.000 I'm good.
00:00:53.000 I just got back.
00:00:54.000 Old.
00:00:55.000 Old move, rocking the sweatpants.
00:00:57.000 I don't have any shorts.
00:00:58.000 I woke up and you're like...
00:01:00.000 I'll be there in six minutes and I looked at my laundry and found these.
00:01:03.000 At least I'm wearing the skate shoes.
00:01:06.000 What are those shoes?
00:01:07.000 They're absolutely not running shoes.
00:01:09.000 White Air Force Ones.
00:01:10.000 It's like...
00:01:11.000 Sneaker, I got running shoes for you.
00:01:12.000 Let me know.
00:01:13.000 I'll bring two pants next time.
00:01:14.000 How long are you going to be in LA?
00:01:16.000 Uh...
00:01:17.000 26 hours.
00:01:18.000 Oh, okay.
00:01:19.000 My cardio is not as good as last time.
00:01:22.000 Last time I was in flight ready shape.
00:01:25.000 I've been smoking.
00:01:28.000 Do you know about the smoke situation right now?
00:01:32.000 No.
00:01:33.000 So...
00:01:34.000 There's like wildfires in Canada.
00:01:37.000 And all the smoke sort of blown over the east coast of the United States.
00:01:41.000 I don't know if you can feel it, but like...
00:01:46.000 You will.
00:01:48.000 After spending five weeks living with this autistic genius who's the greatest artist alive,
00:01:53.000 and me personally believe that's the best of all time,
00:01:56.000 it's going to take more than one vlog to fully explain what that experience was like.
00:02:00.000 I've worked with Ye before and got fired, so coming back after three years was nothing more than humbling in the beginning.
00:02:06.000 I arrived there a little bit cocky, coming off of six months of vlogging daily in a space where nobody's trying to create anything new anymore.
00:02:13.000 And with two years of film school under my belt, being in a space where everyone's just trying to make brain rot content,
00:02:20.000 I was excited to prove that I knew what I was talking about.
00:02:23.000 But immediately, I understood what it's like to be around a real perfectionist.
00:02:27.000 And not a perfectionist like you need to color coordinate your post-it notes like Howard Hughes, autism level perfectionist.
00:02:35.000 Stanley Kubrick, do 80 takes until you start crying level perfectionist.
00:02:39.000 At first, it's infuriating to delete a week's worth of footage that would make seven videos for yourself.
00:02:44.000 But when you look back at it after he color corrects it and borders it properly
00:02:48.000 and gets the aspect ratio and the zoom and the crop the way he wants it, you realize, oh yeah, yeah, he's right.
00:02:54.000 That's why he's the best.
00:02:56.000 So it wasn't a hard decision to decide to pause the daily vlogs I promised for this year,
00:03:01.000 because the main mission in the beginning of 2025 was to get Elon Musk to recognize,
00:03:05.000 I'm making the best content on this website, maybe start monetizing it.
00:03:09.000 And he didn't.
00:03:10.000 So when you get the opportunity of a lifetime, you don't really have to second guess it.
00:03:13.000 What's new, man?
00:03:14.000 How's life?
00:03:15.000 I was in Spain for five weeks.
00:03:17.000 You was in Spain?
00:03:19.000 I was with the A, formerly known as Kanye West,
00:03:24.000 directing videos for him.
00:03:27.000 Where does he go over in Spain?
00:03:30.000 Just gets away from everybody.
00:03:33.000 Yeah.
00:03:34.000 What part?
00:03:35.000 My orca.
00:03:37.000 Which I did not know existed.
00:03:39.000 Did you like it?
00:03:40.000 I did.
00:03:41.000 I missed New York a lot.
00:03:44.000 Did you visit any other sports?
00:03:46.000 Nope.
00:03:47.000 I was there for five weeks.
00:03:48.000 Just in my orca?
00:03:49.000 Yeah.
00:03:50.000 How's your family?
00:03:52.000 Poquito.
00:03:53.000 Bad.
00:03:54.000 Bad.
00:03:55.000 You're right.
00:03:56.000 It does get crowded here in the morning.
00:03:57.000 My guy. 0.74
00:03:58.000 He's at the whole fuck the bridge. 0.92
00:03:59.000 Last time there was nobody. 0.96
00:04:00.000 When was last time?
00:04:01.000 March?
00:04:02.000 Yeah.
00:04:03.000 I don't know about you.
00:04:04.000 Like, I love that you work all night.
00:04:05.000 I used to do that.
00:04:06.000 It's like the best time to leverage creativity, you know?
00:04:07.000 But, with kids I keep like normal office hours.
00:04:09.000 And I find that like, all throughout the day, phone calls, Zoom, meetings, no matter how
00:04:28.000 much you avoid them, they're inevitable and like it's hard to edit or do anything creative.
00:04:37.000 Yeah, when everyone's awake.
00:04:39.000 When everyone's judging you.
00:04:41.000 If you need to dig a ditch or build a house, you can pull up the shingles and then go away
00:04:49.000 and take a phone call or a Zoom.
00:04:51.000 Yeah.
00:04:52.000 Come back and pick up where you left off.
00:04:53.000 Uh-huh.
00:04:54.000 But when you're editing a video, you know what I mean?
00:04:57.000 You take a break on that edit, then you come back, it's like you're starting over again.
00:05:01.000 Uh-huh.
00:05:02.000 You gotta get into that like, mind frame.
00:05:05.000 Your last video was good though.
00:05:07.000 Yeah, that was fun.
00:05:08.000 That was fun.
00:05:09.000 Bring your head, son.
00:05:10.000 Bring your head, son Chico. 0.99
00:05:11.000 That was pretty sick. 0.72
00:05:12.000 It's red like that because before it's fine.
00:05:14.000 And naturally, because streaming is my main source of revenue, people complain and call
00:05:23.000 you a slave when I take a break and do what I want to do instead of dance for them for
00:05:27.000 five weeks straight.
00:05:28.000 In a way, it kind of reminds me when Ye was going around New York delivering beats to people's
00:05:32.000 doors for a couple hundred dollars trying to fund his solo career the same way I'm using
00:05:37.000 my streaming career to make what I want to make.
00:05:40.000 So I think most people understand why I chose to pause Project X and even the comments about me being
00:05:45.000 a slave trapped in a Spanish prison I thought were funny because, hey, I'm in Mallorca, Spain 0.67
00:05:50.000 in a mansion with chefs, security guards, and you get to work alongside the best artists of all time,
00:05:57.000 getting the best learning experience you've ever had, doing exactly what you've wanted to do your whole life.
00:06:03.000 Like, why do I even feel the need to respond to this?
00:06:06.000 For me, it was a no-brainer, but the only apprehension other people had was PR, PR, because that was my initial goal
00:06:14.000 going into these daily vlogs this year was to make videos so good that people were going to forget about
00:06:19.000 why they call me controversial at all.
00:06:21.000 And it was very effective.
00:06:22.000 You had the biggest streamers coming up to me, not being afraid to be seen next to me on camera,
00:06:26.000 which was unheard of before this year.
00:06:29.000 The CEO of streaming websites invited me on their podcast to talk and potentially bringing my show over
00:06:34.000 without making something this dope.
00:06:36.000 That would have never happened.
00:06:37.000 But the only person who would be able to undo that PR run is a guy who's talking about certain events
00:06:43.000 that happened in the 1930s nonstop over horns.
00:06:47.000 And even though a couple of weeks ago, Ye said he's done with anti-Semitism and spewing anything hateful.
00:06:52.000 He's back to love speech.
00:06:53.000 It's like, bro, I've been here for three weeks while you're doing that.
00:06:56.000 But obviously, I'm not upset.
00:06:58.000 But I definitely think the mission to get myself unbanned on social media platforms everywhere,
00:07:04.000 most likely that's going to be halted for a little while.
00:07:06.000 But it's a sacrifice that I was very willing to take.
00:07:09.000 And I was proven right because as soon as I came back,
00:07:12.000 everything that you see from the mainstream is starting to slowly unfold 0.99
00:07:17.000 as the most bullshit fraudulent group of people that have ever existed in humanity. 0.98
00:07:22.000 The mainstream streamers go around these streamer events like the cool kids in high school 0.99
00:07:27.000 that if you're not one of us, you can't come sit at our table.
00:07:30.000 We have good PR.
00:07:31.000 We got the brand deals.
00:07:32.000 Ooh, you sit in the bathroom.
00:07:35.000 You have Disney-backed, Roc Nation-backed celebrities threatening to commit suicide with a newborn child.
00:07:42.000 And yet still the majority of the mainstream fan bases, they don't care.
00:07:46.000 They dislike DDG for some reason so much that even though she's clearly the aggressor, 0.90
00:07:52.000 she's clearly the one who's mentally unstable, 0.82
00:07:55.000 they'll still side with her because Disney called her a little mermaid. 1.00
00:07:59.000 What's your time with Ye?
00:08:02.000 Ah, good.
00:08:03.000 He's at a very complicated part of his career.
00:08:08.000 In his life, you know, I know.
00:08:11.000 I don't pay too much attention to them, but... 0.99
00:08:15.000 Seems like that guy just got all kinds of shit falling on him, you know? 0.99
00:08:21.000 Yeah. 0.99
00:08:22.000 What else have you been up to?
00:08:25.000 Well, we go away for the summer for like, you know, like a month, two months.
00:08:32.000 We take the kids to Massachusetts to get them out of the city. 0.97
00:08:37.000 So it's like getting all this shit organized before we leave the city. 0.93
00:08:43.000 And for me, it's like getting all my ducks in a row with work. 0.98
00:08:47.000 That's why I got to travel today.
00:08:49.000 Just trying to get all that done.
00:08:51.000 Well, there's nothing like this place in the summer.
00:08:53.000 Dude, New York City in the summer.
00:08:55.000 I know.
00:08:56.000 How old are you?
00:08:57.000 26.
00:08:58.000 New York summer is in my 20s.
00:09:00.000 It's the best.
00:09:01.000 Because all the old people like me leave the city.
00:09:04.000 So in the summer, it was just like, you own the city.
00:09:08.000 Everybody's all sweaty and gross.
00:09:11.000 It's great.
00:09:12.000 Speaking of sweaty and gross, how you doing?
00:09:14.000 That's me.
00:09:16.000 Did you run to the bridge?
00:09:18.000 Yeah.
00:09:19.000 You start to see the same people if you go to the same bathroom.
00:09:29.000 That's okay.
00:09:30.000 You look great.
00:09:31.000 Thank you.
00:09:32.000 Thank you.
00:09:33.000 Did you sleep last night?
00:09:35.000 Not a second.
00:09:36.000 So when do you go to bed?
00:09:39.000 Usually right now.
00:09:40.000 What time do you wake up?
00:09:41.000 One.
00:09:42.000 Congratulations.
00:09:43.000 Thank you.
00:09:44.000 What do you think I should do in the city this summer?
00:09:46.000 I don't know.
00:09:47.000 What are the options?
00:09:48.000 What are you thinking about?
00:09:49.000 I just want the best videos.
00:09:50.000 Best videos?
00:09:51.000 I don't know.
00:09:52.000 You know, I think like, one part of your videos that you do such a nice job of is kind
00:10:10.000 of picking different environments from different locations and they're not necessarily like
00:10:16.000 the subject.
00:10:17.000 Yeah.
00:10:18.000 They're just sort of the backdrop.
00:10:19.000 But they lend themselves to your narrative.
00:10:23.000 And the city is a different city in the summer, you know?
00:10:26.000 It is.
00:10:27.000 Oh.
00:10:28.000 I know what you should do this summer in the city. 0.99
00:10:30.000 Start fucking running every day. 0.99
00:10:31.000 Yeah. 1.00
00:10:32.000 There you go.
00:10:33.000 No more smoking.
00:10:34.000 Back to running.
00:10:36.000 Well, you just smoke weed or smoke cigarettes?
00:10:38.000 Cigarettes.
00:10:39.000 Oh.
00:10:41.000 I haven't smoked a cigarette in like 20 years.
00:10:47.000 But cigarettes remain my favorite drug.
00:10:52.000 When you meet people, like I'm anti-smoking.
00:10:56.000 No one should smoke cigarettes.
00:10:57.000 Right.
00:10:58.000 But when people are like, I don't understand why anyone would smoke cigarettes.
00:11:02.000 You're a tribe of cigarettes here.
00:11:03.000 Those cigarettes are great.
00:11:04.000 Yeah, I'll give you one.
00:11:05.000 Don't do that.
00:11:06.000 Don't say that.
00:11:07.000 But man, I haven't smoked in 20 years or whatever, I still think about cigarettes.
00:11:19.000 When you see someone smoke.
00:11:21.000 My wife keeps a pack of cigarettes in our refrigerator and in her office.
00:11:26.000 She doesn't smoke.
00:11:27.000 She just likes to have them. 1.00
00:11:29.000 Sometimes she'll take one out and put it in her mouth. 0.58
00:11:31.000 Slowing down here, Sneaky.
00:11:32.000 Yeah, I'm slowing you down.
00:11:33.000 No, you're slowing down in general.
00:11:34.000 I'm doing all right.
00:11:35.000 I'll leave you here at the end of the bridge.
00:11:36.000 This is about half a mile less than we did last time.
00:11:37.000 I succeeded my expectations.
00:11:38.000 What were you doing yesterday?
00:11:39.000 Editing, filming.
00:11:40.000 Oh, editing and filming.
00:11:41.000 I happened to be there.
00:11:42.000 Try like a film festival.
00:11:43.000 My buddy Oscar.
00:11:44.000 I have a movie in the film festival this year.
00:11:45.000 It's his first feature.
00:11:46.000 So fingers crossed if somebody buys it.
00:11:47.000 I'll check it out.
00:11:48.000 Yeah, it's a great film maker.
00:11:49.000 See ya, man.
00:11:50.000 Have fun and out.
00:11:51.000 Let's see ya.
00:11:52.000 Let's see ya.
00:11:53.000 Have fun and out.
00:11:54.000 Let's see ya.
00:11:55.000 Let's see ya.
00:11:56.000 Let's see ya.
00:11:57.000 I'll check it out.
00:11:58.000 How do I have it by my office?
00:11:59.000 Oh, editing and filming.
00:12:01.000 I happened to be there.
00:12:02.000 Try like a film festival.
00:12:03.000 My buddy Oscar.
00:12:04.000 I have a movie in the film festival this year.
00:12:05.000 It's his first feature.
00:12:06.000 So fingers crossed if somebody buys it.
00:12:07.000 I'll check it out.
00:12:08.000 Yeah, it's a great film maker.
00:12:09.000 See ya, man.
00:12:10.000 I'll send it away.
00:12:11.000 That's it.
00:12:12.000 Alright, get home safe.
00:12:13.000 Alright.
00:12:14.000 Good to see you.
00:12:15.000 You want a cigarette?
00:12:16.000 Yeah.
00:12:17.000 City in Charlotte, way.
00:12:18.000 That's it.
00:12:19.000 Alright, get home safe.
00:12:20.000 Alright.
00:12:21.000 Good to see you.
00:12:22.000 You want a cigarette?
00:12:23.000 Yep.
00:12:24.000 City in Charlotte, way.
00:12:27.000 I can't go.
00:12:28.000 I'm close for minutes.
00:12:29.000 I can't go.
00:12:30.000 Hey, what's going on?
00:12:31.000 Did you just see Casey?
00:12:32.000 Yeah, we just went on a run.
00:12:33.000 Why are you stuck?
00:12:34.000 That's a good question.
00:12:35.000 Should we finish the run?
00:12:36.000 Yeah, he's not finished.
00:12:37.000 I'm finished with mine.
00:12:38.000 Oh, yeah?
00:12:39.000 Man, look at me.
00:12:40.000 How was the bridge?
00:12:41.000 How was what?
00:12:42.000 How was the bridge?
00:12:43.000 Harder than last time.
00:12:44.000 I have not been running.
00:12:45.000 Yeah.
00:12:46.000 When was the last time you won?
00:12:47.000 There was a bridge.
00:12:48.000 How was the bridge?
00:12:49.000 How was the bridge?
00:12:50.000 How was the bridge?
00:12:51.000 Harder than last time.
00:12:52.000 I have not been running.
00:12:53.000 Yeah.
00:12:54.000 When was the last time you won?
00:12:57.000 Last time with him.
00:12:58.000 Maybe one.
00:12:59.000 No.
00:13:00.000 Last time with him three months ago.
00:13:01.000 You got to be consistent, bro.
00:13:02.000 Yeah, for sure.
00:13:03.000 It's hard at first.
00:13:04.000 But once you get in the groove, you start getting easy, really.
00:13:08.000 It's good to be back.
00:13:11.000 Walking back now, I'm realizing I definitely could have ran as far as last time because
00:13:24.000 last time I took a cab to get home.
00:13:26.000 But I told myself before I got here, just waking up and doing the run was a win.
00:13:30.000 It's really more of a mental thing than anything.
00:13:32.000 I understand the necessity of having people that can exist in an atmosphere that's advertiser
00:13:49.000 friendly, but the industry as a whole has so many cracks in the cement very soon, sooner
00:13:54.000 than you think.
00:13:55.000 It's all going to topple.
00:13:56.000 Once this weird, edgy, fringed part of the internet is soon going to become the norm in
00:14:01.000 the mainstream, the same way the edgy outsider Donald Trump with this orange hair became the
00:14:06.000 president.
00:14:07.000 And you also come to realize the people that obsess over their PR and their networking 0.95
00:14:12.000 and all this homosexual activity, they're only going to be able to work with other homosexuals. 0.87
00:14:18.000 They won't get anyone that's cool. 0.89
00:14:20.000 I find it ironic how I'm criticized so much for pointing the finger at mainstream industry
00:14:24.000 plants and making fun of networkers who rent cars to look cool in front of people they don't
00:14:29.000 know at the club. 0.98
00:14:30.000 That without even playing your gay game, I'm better at it. 1.00
00:14:34.000 I can confidently say that I accomplished the dreams I had when I was 12, not because 0.54
00:14:39.000 I played the game they tell you to play, but because I made something so dope that people
00:14:43.000 couldn't ignore it.
00:14:44.000 I've worked and became friends with all the people that inspired me back when dreams were still
00:14:49.000 just dreams for me.
00:14:50.000 And I didn't get there by networking.
00:14:52.000 Oh, nice to meet you. 0.99
00:14:54.000 I'm saying the right thing, pretending to care about bullshit like pride month. 1.00
00:14:58.000 I did it by not compromising what I knew to be dope. 0.99
00:15:02.000 Everybody say power.
00:15:03.000 Power.
00:15:04.000 Everybody say green power.
00:15:06.000 Green power.
00:15:08.000 Oh, it's still orange.
00:15:10.000 I don't know if I think orange.
00:15:11.000 Everybody say power.
00:15:13.000 Power.
00:15:14.000 I think it's ready.
00:15:16.000 Oh no, I didn't say power.
00:15:18.000 It's not power.
00:15:19.000 It's not power.
00:15:20.000 It's not power.
00:15:21.000 It's not power.
00:15:22.000 What's going on?
00:15:28.000 Why are you taking that down?
00:15:29.000 You know.
00:15:30.000 You know.
00:15:31.000 You know.
00:15:32.000 Yeah, I know.
00:15:33.000 We'll get them next year.
00:15:34.000 Yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:15:35.000 Next year. 1.00
00:15:36.000 Man, fuck the Pacers. 1.00
00:15:37.000 Oh, fuck the Pacers. 1.00
00:15:38.000 Man, fuck the Pacers. 1.00
00:15:39.000 Man, fuck the Pacers. 1.00
00:15:40.000 Fuck the Pacers. 1.00
00:15:41.000 Fuck the Pacers. 1.00
00:15:43.000 God, what you doing out here, bro? 1.00
00:15:45.000 I'm back in the city, word?
00:15:47.000 I'm back.
