Tristian and Andrew Tate have been in custody for over 30 days without any charges being filed against them. They are being held in Romania as part of an investigation into rape and human trafficking. This is a violation of international human rights and the due process of law.
00:00:40.640The Tate brothers, who are both U.S. citizens, have been in jail for over 30 days now without bail
00:00:47.600and without any charges being filed against them.
00:00:50.640This investigation started in April of last year.
00:00:54.160And the fact that today is February 1st and no charges have been filed in the 10 month period should speak volumes as to the state of the evidence.
00:01:04.640The continued detention of the Tate brothers under these circumstances is a violation of international human rights law
00:01:12.240and of the EU guidelines and Romania, obviously, as a member of the EU.
00:01:18.720So despite what anyone's viewpoint might be as to the Tate brothers and if they agree or don't agree,
00:01:25.680everybody should be concerned about this global issue.
00:01:29.440My firm has joined the Romanian legal team because we want to ensure that our citizens are protected when they're abroad.
00:01:36.320And we will continue to fight to get the Tate brothers out of custody and home where they belong.
00:03:13.000Because, like, even when I went to Romania, when I went to Bucharest, I kept bringing that up, like, because he talked a lot about how, like, Romania, you can get away with certain things.
00:03:20.880And he talked about how it was corrupt.
00:03:22.780But if you have a good reputation, then you're going to be fine.
00:03:25.000But then now seeing it now, the amount of people, like, who are saying Romania is on the certain global spotlight.
00:03:33.080Romania is being, is under global view.
00:03:36.200And everybody is, they're failing in front of everybody.
00:03:39.380But we all heard Andrew say that shit all the time.
00:03:45.980I was thinking about this on the plane when I was on the way here.
00:03:48.380How, um, I actually, I, uh, I was on FaceTime with my dad when we had dinner in Bucharest.
00:03:57.520And, uh, Andrew got to speak to my dad for a little bit, briefly.
00:04:00.980And that was just, like, a weird sight to see.
00:04:04.120Because from, like, internet world and, like, my dad doesn't even, um, especially he's been critical and he's saying, like, I don't agree with everything.
00:04:11.540But I just had, like, a flashback of that today.
00:04:14.440And also the same dinner, we kept talking about, yeah, like, how I remember even on the emergency meeting, I was saying that, like, oh, I was thinking about moving to Croatia or, like, some part of Eastern Europe because of how they were speaking positively about it.
00:04:29.540But, you know, ultimately, like, even speaking to Ryan Dawson, now I'm like, oh, Japan.
00:04:33.780And I am realizing that I am, I'm very easily influenced, Chad.
00:04:38.140I think, I think everybody kind of tends to realize that.
00:04:40.600I did a podcast with Muhammad Hijab the other day.
00:06:41.940It seems that every now and again this pops up back on television with them being remanded for further time.
00:06:47.680How long can that process continue before a charging decision is made?
00:06:51.820Under Romanian law, they have up to 180 days, which is in 30-day increments.
00:06:59.580So every time there's a 30-day detention order, they're allowed to renew their request and have it extended for an additional 30 days, but not to exceed 180 days.
00:10:35.200But at the end of the day, yes, I think there is a lot of information in the public.
00:10:38.860I think there's a lot of false allegations in the public.
00:10:41.700I think some evidence has now been put forth.
00:10:44.220Again, I don't want to comment too much on the facts of the case since there is an ongoing criminal investigation.
00:10:49.700However, I think there has been evidence put out, videos and other statements for the public to see what the supposed state of the evidence actually is.
00:10:59.940It's been interesting to watch Andrew Tate's Twitter feed, in particular, that he's continued to tweet.
00:12:00.940Are any of the things that have been seized from the property, are they in themselves acts of lawbreaking, just the possession of any of these things?
00:12:48.820Of course, that if the women who've come forward here as part of the investigation,
00:12:52.960if they're telling the truth, these are very serious allegations against your clients,
00:12:58.020which could lead to charging, and if it led to charging, could lead potentially to long prison sentences if found guilty.
00:13:03.880Certainly, the crimes at issue are very serious crimes, and I think, Pierce, actually, it was on your show when you interviewed Tate several months ago.
00:13:15.300He made very strong statements about his position on rape.
00:13:20.040Bro, they only have, like, limited B-roll, too.
00:13:22.080And he condemned rape, and he said it was disgusting.
00:13:26.340You know, right now, they're just trying to rattle them.
00:13:28.120They're trying to break the iron mine.
00:13:29.700That's why they're being held for so long without any evidence.
00:13:32.180They just want to go and break them so that if it does go to trial, then they're just going to be weaker.
00:13:37.840But iron mine, unmatched perspicacity, it's not going to work.
00:13:40.920The word he used, and he said he thought that somebody who does that deserves the death penalty.
00:13:45.520So there's no question that these are serious charges, and even in his own words, they're very serious charges.
00:13:51.520There just isn't any evidence that they committed these crimes.
00:13:53.860But you know, we've also had tapes which have emerged in the last few weeks of him talking about rape to a woman in a pretty unsavory manner.
00:14:17.960There have been various tapes have surfaced in part of media investigations in the last few weeks,
00:14:23.480including Andrew Tate talking about rape to a woman in a pretty unsavory manner.
00:14:28.540So what would your reaction be to that?
00:14:31.300Well, first of all, I think the authenticity of anything that is presented through the media as opposed to turned over to the defense needs to be questioned because material is edited and it's easily manipulated.
