In this episode of Stand on Guard, we have Katie Passapne back on the show to talk about what's going on at Universal Ostrich Farms and why the government needs to do something about it. We also talk about the bird flu outbreak in Canada and how the government is handling it.
00:25:19.800The other day we had a bunch of these CFIA agents in their hazmat suits running them down their pen.
00:25:27.600So these poor animals that are healing in this pen, they're running them down their pen.
00:25:31.320And then they release them out into the general population of our other ostriches, which are going to kick the crap out of them.
00:25:37.840Because they just know it's a pecking order and they know that they're weaker.
00:25:41.260So they're moving our animals, putting them at risk.
00:25:43.960They're being absolutely inhumane with their handling, their feeding.
00:25:47.700We had to tell them to put the feed in the buckets.
00:25:50.400They were just dumping feed on the ground right beside their buckets.
00:25:54.100We have had to tell them to clean the waters.
00:25:56.500We've had to tell them they don't know how to care for these animals and they should not come in with such little experience and expect to take over somebody's 35 years of love and handling.
00:26:10.600So these animals are searching, obviously, out there probably looking for somebody to, you know, for our hands that have protected them for decades.
00:27:36.580I mean, these people, these CFIA goons, and I can't think of a nicer word to call them, are essentially executioners, as far as I'm seeing.
00:27:48.000They're setting up an execution, and that's all they seem to be trained for.
00:27:52.460They don't know how to look after animals.
00:27:54.240And I think it's shocking the Canadians, because a lot of people thought, well, you know, these are nice bureaucrats who are going to come and just try to settle things down.
00:28:03.380And sometimes they have to do some nasty work, but it's only if it's absolutely essential.
00:28:32.100The Canadian Food Inspection Agency normally never is on site for cullings.
00:28:36.500They hire a third-party killing contractor.
00:28:39.280And this is the first time that I believe that this organization has really been put under the microscope.
00:28:45.160This is the very first time, and it's going to be, I hope, the last time that they need to be watched this hard,
00:28:52.240because of such untrust and the road of trust between Canadians and the organization.
00:28:56.540If that policy is changed and the proper outbreak response plan is put and set for farmers to protect them, we don't need to be doing this.
00:29:04.860But this is the first time they've been watched, and I'm promising you they're going to continue to be watched until we make changes here.
00:29:14.000And the world is watching, and they don't even know what to do.
00:29:17.860You're right, they're scrambling, they're making so many mistakes, that because they've never had to do this on their own.
00:29:25.580And that third-party contractor killing company, one of them, had even charges for inhumane animal cruelty,
00:29:36.360and they still continue to use that same company.
00:29:40.260We were looking at their, you know, 2018 and 2021 audits, which they failed miserably.
00:29:45.960They have no accountability there, no transparency, but they've never been watched like this.
00:36:37.740We had, Jamie Nix was here from Nashville, and he has just been incredible, offering some resources and putting things together that I posted on Facebook.
00:36:50.580I brought a bunch of doctors, Dr. Pellick and another panel of doctors that want to flip the bill and pay for the testing,
00:36:56.800do the testing, and take that on themselves.
00:36:59.420So it was a, Jamie Nix, Tamara Leach was here for a couple days, and people have been pouring in support and food resources here for the fields to stay dry, warm, fed.
00:37:11.820And it's just been absolutely incredible.
00:37:40.480We're going to really just see what happens here, so.
00:37:43.140Well, I'll be seeing Tamara next week.
00:37:45.900And I've compared Tamara Leach to a Soviet dissident who has been jailed for political reasons.
00:37:52.280And I've come to have nothing but admiration and respect for Tamara.
00:37:57.240Tamara, I've attended virtually every trial date that she and Chris Barber have been at here in Ottawa for the Freedom Crown Court.
00:38:07.640And I find it, do you find it somewhat ironic or strange or perhaps serendipitous that Tamara and Chris are going to be sentenced next week?
00:38:21.520I'm going to be back in the Ottawa courthouse for that.
00:38:23.700And, of course, the Crown is asking for seven years in prison for Tamara, eight years for Chris, and confiscation of his truck, which we've discussed that before, how just appalling this is.
00:38:38.480But I'll tell you what I'm hoping and praying for is that there's going to be a joining of spiritual forces next October 7th.
00:38:50.820And the government is going to back off on Universal Ostrich Farms.
00:38:55.540And Tamara and Chris are not going to get any jail time.
00:38:58.640And I hope they get the minimum from this judge.
00:39:02.160And I think this could be a very dark week next week.
00:39:08.140And I'm hoping and praying and believing it's going to be a week of victory for ordinary Canadians, average Canadians, God-fearing Canadians, people who don't think the government should always have the answers.
00:39:36.780And, you know, and I do, I definitely want to acknowledge today's Truth and Reconciliation Day with the farm.
00:39:45.600And, you know, it's been about recognizing, it's about recognizing harm, respecting life, choosing healing.
00:39:52.880And we're just making some notes and just really want to honor that, you know, we're learning a lot of values and standing and honoring our Indigenous community and everything that they've been fighting for.
00:40:07.580We just really are on kind of the same path, embodying that we're trying to have the respect for our land, respect for our animals, respect for life.
00:40:17.380And we're choosing life over destruction.
00:40:43.320So we need to see a lot of change and we need to see a lot more leadership within our government, positive leadership, people willing to really stand up for all of our rights.
00:40:54.540And I do think it's going to be an amazing week.
00:42:53.380I know you've got so, so many things to do.
00:42:55.560So my final question in terms of my editors are asking me, you know, is there going to be do you need to do an update on this story or is what you reported good for a few days?
00:43:06.660I said, yeah, I think we're good to go for a few days.
00:43:08.900We'll probably I'm going to do a story.
00:43:10.900The next story is going to be how the government's backing down as far as I see it.
00:43:15.780But we're going to have to wait a few days for that.
00:43:19.200What is your lawyer telling you about when the Supreme Court is going to rule on whether they will hear this case?
00:44:00.280Canadian Food Inspection Agency, like I said, their command centers, the task force, the RCMP, the LOA, their hotel rooms, their eating out, their you name it.
00:44:11.220So I know that the government is very aware that this is the clock is ticking and it kind of it's nice, too, though, because sitting in limbo and not knowing and waiting for the 21 days sometimes for our decision from an appeal.
00:44:27.140So there's probably nothing worse than the limbo.
00:44:30.460You know, I obviously want them to make the best decision and take the time that they need to do so because you want them to put as much thought into it as possible.
00:44:39.340But at the end of the day, that limbo, that limbo hurts.
00:44:44.020That's hard to sit there and and not know what, you know, what's coming down, what's going to be next.
00:45:01.160And I have put an appeal of not just to huge broadcasters in the U.S.
00:45:06.480And I know our mutual friend at Redacted, Clayton Morris and Natalie Morris, are doing the same.
00:45:14.660They're asking as many people as possible to get to talk to you, to talk about the story.
00:45:20.860And I'm appealing to a lot of broadcasters who have in the 100,000, 150,000 subscriber range who are ignoring this story because they're afraid it's going to hurt their ratings or they're afraid it's going to offend pure poly.
00:45:37.200And I have to say, I'm doing all I can to move pure poly on this issue.
00:45:43.440Otherwise, your MP would not be talking about it.
00:45:46.640I can tell you that because having worked in Parliament Hill, I know no MP says anything without getting the approval of the leader's office first.
00:45:56.160So, obviously, I think pure poly is sympathetic.
00:45:58.800He needs to be courageous to stand up and say this is a horrible abrogation of freedom.
00:46:07.680Keith McDonald and John Barlow and, you know, Paul McKinnon, obviously Mark Carney.
00:46:14.980But, I mean, this is where we really need to weigh in and we need to weigh in what Canadians are really feeling and what this is doing to our agricultural sector.
00:46:26.260And Keith McDonald has a job to do and he's not doing it.
00:46:31.200And he's not listening to Canadians and all the thousands of emails that he's getting, the thousands of letters, the scientific evidence and the expert witness reports,
00:46:39.820which we have in our reconsideration material that has been to Canadian Food Inspection Agency.
00:46:44.560And if he doesn't have that communication with the Canadian Food Inspection Agency and if he doesn't know that that material is sitting there after his thousands of emails, then he's failing at his job, too.
00:46:54.740So, I think we need to start making all of our leaders accountable.
00:46:58.020And it starts with the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, but obviously that's our leaders, Heath McDonald and John Barlow.
00:47:07.200We are asking you to step up and bring some transparency and accountability to the table.
00:47:59.720And I want to tell you, Katie, as I've come to know you since May, I've come to know a very courageous woman.
00:48:07.080And I routinely now put you in the same category as Tamara Leach and Chris Barber and others who have fought valiantly for not only their own freedom or the freedom of their families, but have put everything on the line for the country's freedom.
00:48:24.140And that's an accomplishment very few people can talk about, because it's easy to talk about freedom.
00:48:31.060It's not so easy to stand up and put your career, your life, your everything on the line when your freedom is being taken away.
00:48:40.540And you realize it's not just about your freedom.
00:48:49.840And it has been a 10 month of not a lot of people see behind the scenes of the sacrifices.
00:48:54.640And not a lot of people see and understand that you're right, the red pills, taking all those red pills and learning along the way and then realizing how much our freedoms are in jeopardy and our land rights and our families.
