00:00:00.840 Welcome back to another Stand on Guard.
00:00:03.640 Happy Monday!
00:00:05.420 Hope you're having as good a time as I am, and you had a great weekend.
00:00:10.480 And that is always, always an important thing.
00:00:15.960 So, we'll be discussing a lot of issues this morning.
00:00:19.480 I can't wait to get into this, because there's been some very good news.
00:00:23.640 We were expecting this abacus poll to drop on Saturday,
00:00:28.060 but instead it dropped on Sunday.
00:00:29.800 But we'll be discussing exactly, exactly what it means when we come back.
00:00:38.880 The Prime Minister lied and his minions continue to lie.
00:00:48.180 We need a political change.
00:00:53.640 But we also need to resolve to resist.
00:00:58.060 We need a political change.
00:01:04.800 Yes, please like and subscribe.
00:01:06.900 We really need your subscriptions right now.
00:01:09.000 Please subscribe and share the broadcast with your friends and family,
00:01:13.020 because YouTube will want.
00:01:14.940 And I want to thank also all of our supporters, all of our viewers on Rumble.
00:01:20.020 We're getting bigger numbers on Rumble.
00:01:22.220 First, you've got to diversify with social media, because you never know what's going to happen.
00:01:28.960 So, we appreciate all of you.
00:01:32.620 And, of course, thank you for all the sub-stack folks who are also increasing in numbers.
00:01:38.640 So, before we get into this abacus poll, which I think is fantastic news,
00:01:44.680 and we'll just put that up, because we're going to be discussing this.
00:01:48.020 Conservatives' edge ahead as cost of living dominates, and Trump fades.
00:01:53.120 Well, too bad this wasn't about three months ago.
00:01:56.480 But it's inevitable.
00:01:58.540 The truth will come out.
00:02:01.320 And, of course, as Mark Carney essentially saying last week,
00:02:05.060 he made it all up during the election.
00:02:07.300 He made up the Trump threat.
00:02:08.520 He made up the U.S. threat.
00:02:10.100 Now everything is just wonderful with the United States and Donald Trump.
00:02:14.740 And he used it as a political wedge issue.
00:02:19.000 And that's all it amounted to.
00:02:20.820 But before we get to that, I want to share a couple of other things with you.
00:02:24.580 And this is absolutely fascinating.
00:02:26.620 This is wonderful news, because, of course, as I pointed out,
00:02:32.360 June is supposedly Pride Month in Canada.
00:02:36.100 But Justin Trudeau mandated that we go to Pride Season, meaning it's what?
00:02:41.840 Three months?
00:02:43.120 Yeah, June, July, August.
00:02:44.440 That's what he's talking about.
00:02:45.800 Of course, if you're in the public service at a school, it's always Pride Season.
00:02:51.780 So the Pride Parade in Audit yesterday was actually sabotaged by queers from Palestine.
00:03:02.000 Their own people.
00:03:04.840 Because of the infighting in the Gay Pride Committee that organizes this celebration of cyberitic rights,
00:03:14.160 of outrageous hedonism, there was no Pride Parade.
00:03:19.700 It was canceled.
00:03:20.620 Oh, isn't that a tragedy?
00:03:23.660 But here, I want to show some video on this, because it's fascinating to me.
00:03:29.800 That this...
00:03:30.160 Sean Foyt actually shared video of this yesterday.
00:03:36.620 Because this is really outrageous here.
00:03:42.000 I'm going to go back to Sean Foyt's...
00:03:47.160 Hang on a second here.
00:03:51.500 But that's...
00:03:52.840 This was incredible.
00:03:56.240 Here we go.
00:03:57.800 Let's have a look at this.
00:03:58.760 So here's the reason the parade is canceled.
00:04:08.440 This canceled the entire parade.
00:04:10.400 This canceled the entire parade.
00:04:10.460 Go, go.
00:04:11.680 Let's see.
00:04:20.140 I'm all about something.
00:04:20.260 we're going to be unhappy people here as you can see palestinian protesters have completely
00:04:41.460 shut down the capital the bridge was stalled out behind me here on wellington street for over an
00:04:48.340 hour i thought this might have been the trouble the street and the whole rest of the parade is
00:04:53.620 stuck way back there street clothes wellington clothes they have taken over palestinians have
00:04:59.220 sucked down the pride parade
00:05:06.260 and thank you chris dacy for that report yesterday and dacy media always like to give chris a shout
00:05:12.660 out for the good work he does he's always on the streets always doing a little bit of guerrilla
00:05:18.020 journalism as i call it asymmetrical journalism and thank you so much chris for your hard work and
00:05:24.420 that was a that was a great point of course as sean foight reported in his ex post the left is eating
00:05:32.980 the left so it's always good news always good news i want to get to this abacus poll now from david
00:05:42.980 colinette whom i knew from his days as the official pollster at sun news when we used to have used to
00:05:51.940 have a television station running out of toronto and uh i worked with sun news for
00:06:00.900 four or five months and of course it folded after that unfortunate but this is uh this is absolutely
00:06:07.300 fascinating because it's not just that the conservatives have edged ahead of
00:06:21.140 the liberals it's why they've edged ahead of the liberals so let's have a look at this in
00:06:26.500 in detail here because i'm going to read this is david david coletto who always does some really really
00:06:32.500 good work so from august 15th to 19th 2025 abacus data surveyed 1950 canadian adults on the state
00:06:41.860 of federal politics the poll captures public opinion just as air canada flight attendants
00:06:47.140 initiated strike action but it's important to note that many of the interviews were completed prior to
00:06:54.180 that event and thus this wave does not fully reflect its impact the same is true for peer pollio's
00:07:00.580 by-election victory on monday that's interesting what the data does show is a modest but meaningful
00:07:08.340 shift the conservative party has pulled slightly ahead in national vote intention for the first time in
00:07:14.820 months yeah first time before the election probably meanwhile the issue landscape remains anchored in
00:07:22.340 affordability with donald trump fading as a top-tier concern a notable shift in a summer that's otherwise
00:07:29.540 seen stability in attitudes despite these changes government approval remains relatively steady
00:07:37.060 though with signs of erosion around economic management okay the truth is starting to sink in
00:07:43.620 the political weather hasn't turned but the winds may be shifting okay i'm not you know
00:07:49.300 interesting metaphor coletto is clearly saying this is not yet a disaster
00:07:54.980 for the liberals mark carney is not in free fall and the liberal party is not in free fall but
00:08:03.140 the the winds have shifted and there's going to be a gradual erosion of liberal support
00:08:11.140 just over a third canadian 35 believe the country is headed in the right direction that's bad news for
00:08:15.540 carney essentially unchanged from early august meanwhile 47 say things are on the wrong track always
00:08:22.740 that's always bad news for the government views of the global outlook 14 say the right direction
00:08:30.740 remain bleak driven by persistent global uncertainty and lingering worriness toward u.s
00:08:41.540 so canadians don't think we're on the right track with the world now does that have something to do with
00:08:46.420 ukraine are canadians beginning to say why are we continuing to throw money at ukraine into this bottom
00:08:52.580 list pit we'll get to that later now whether that i want to get into the top issues that are facing
00:09:02.900 canada because this is quite interesting the rising cost of living continues to dominate the political
00:09:09.940 conversation chosen by 60 percent of canadians as one of their top three concerns the broader economy
00:09:17.620 follows at 36 and housing at 35 health care ranks fourth at 33 percent donald trump's influence as
00:09:25.140 a political issue appears to be diminishing mentioned by 38 this wave and down from 44 earlier in the
00:09:34.580 summer trump now sits behind cost of living and is tied with the economy and salience while still
00:09:41.140 significant his shadow is receding slightly likely reflecting both canadian fatigue and a slight cooling
00:09:49.140 in the u.s news coverage immigration remains in the middle of the pack cited by 25 percent and continues
00:09:56.500 to be more polarizing but then broadly resonant so let's have a look at that top issues facing canada
00:10:04.420 60 percent say the rising cost of living now if you live in canada and if you buy groceries every week
00:10:13.060 i'm sure you've said like i have the inflation rate must be higher than what statistics canada is reporting
00:10:22.340 because literally the coffee beans i buy a year ago
00:10:27.940 perhaps let's say 18 months ago i was buying these same coffee beans for like 12 they're 20 now 20
00:10:41.780 now donald trump remains second in his administration but way down to 30 the economy at 36
00:10:48.420 housing affordability 35 health care 33 immigration 25 so the red and yellow those are the top concerns
00:10:56.420 what are the concerns that really aren't registering with very many people now this to me is just as
00:11:01.860 important as the top issues facing canada we have climate change and the environment at 16
00:11:10.900 the mainstream media consistently says climate change is top one of the top issues for canadian
00:11:16.900 the liberal government pretends it's been a top issue with canadians the thing we should be most
00:11:21.060 concerned about most worried about
00:11:25.940 crime and public safety i'm surprised that's at 15 percent inequality and poverty is at 11
00:11:33.140 the threat posed by china and russia seven percent so why are we always getting this russia phobia
00:11:39.460 that russia is going to invade polon russia is a grave and persistent threat russia is an existential
00:11:45.620 threat to can obviously canadians are getting indigenous reconciliation three percent
00:11:51.220 especially given the fact that now aboriginal entitlement has completely undermined property rights in
00:12:03.380 canada now chinese election interference the two percent it's no wonder to me we never get any traction
00:12:11.220 when we talk about chinese election interference or how china has been spying on canada
00:12:15.540 now government approval still solid but signs of softness approval of the county-led federal
00:12:25.520 government stands at 49 down a point from two weeks ago and below the 50 threshold for the
00:12:31.380 first time since march this approval has edged up to 80 while these figures are still relatively
00:12:37.860 strong they point to a gradual softening the government retains majority support but the
00:12:44.260 cost of living crunch and continued frustrations around housing may be beginning to wear on that
00:12:49.400 goodwill so i think the honeymoon is over and mark carney well he's gone from a high of 51 down to 48
00:12:59.360 net he still has a net favorable but that can disappear overnight i can just totally and
00:13:10.600 pure poly of still you know he's had a difficult summer net favorable is minus two but i think
00:13:19.600 that's going to shift as well
00:13:20.800 and the main thing here time for change or re-elect liberals
00:13:28.840 re-election is not looking good now let's get to the
00:13:36.700 federal vote intention
00:13:40.980 those certain to vote it's a dead heat 41 41 yeah and
00:13:50.300 vote intention conservatives take the lead if an election were held today 41 percent of decided
00:14:00.480 voters would cast a ballot for the conservatives up one point the liberals sit at 39 down four points
00:14:07.620 since early august the ndp holds at seven block at seven greens at two percent and the people's party
00:14:14.060 candidate at two percent now what does that tell me i'm going to come back to the what does that tell me
00:14:21.720 it tells me that the ndp has has collapsed remains collapsed support for the ndp is cratered and it remains
00:14:33.560 in the conservative camp because of blue collar support for the tories we saw that in the last election we saw that
00:14:43.800 in the election campaign more blue collar workers voting conservative more unions
00:14:49.080 endorsing the conservative party np or poly
00:14:52.160 the union vote is no longer given for the ndp because the ndp has become so woke so strange
00:15:00.100 so misguided so obsessed with wacko environmental policies wacko lgbtq agenda
00:15:09.380 that most ordinary blue collar workers are saying this party doesn't represent what i believe in
00:15:17.280 and probably hasn't for quite some time so maybe it's time to look elsewhere and that's exactly
00:15:24.840 what has happened i want to get back to the to the some of the the tweets or some sorry x posts
00:15:32.620 from sean foy but before we get there what's happening in ukraine well we talked about this
00:15:39.560 yesterday what mark carney is hell-bent on giving your money away
00:15:45.760 another two billion dollars he's giving away to ukraine now where is it going
00:15:53.700 into a bottomless pit and mark carney cannot tell you that ukraine is going to somehow win the war
00:16:06.040 they're not even talking about winning the war now they're talking about some winning the peace
00:16:11.060 and and it doesn't matter what russia wants of course if you have any understanding about
00:16:17.280 the world and mark carney remember he said i understand the world
00:16:21.020 you know the country that finishes the war in the dominant position dictates what happens
00:16:28.000 and that's exactly what's going to happen in ukraine
00:16:32.440 crimea is not going back to ukraine and mark carney can pretend that he doesn't
00:16:37.900 he doesn't understand it or he doesn't really want to acknowledge it
00:16:42.960 notwithstanding that's the reality that mark carney should be acknowledging
00:16:50.160 let's listen to carney talk about potentially putting canadian troops in ukraine
00:16:55.040 now uh and the funds are flowing so it's uh this is immediate we know the immediate needs
00:17:01.740 um and we uh as a as a partner of ukraine are working directly for example in joint production which
00:17:09.960 you just referenced uh but then more broadly buying in drones from other sources um and also
00:17:15.680 uh following um the danish model the pre-financing uh model uh in for production here in ukraine
00:17:24.320 with respect to security guarantees uh i think we all recognize uh that the core of the security guarantee
00:17:31.440 the front line uh the foundation uh is robust ukrainian armed forces uh and it's crucial in those regards
00:17:40.080 that the military equipment today and tomorrow is here the industrial capacity is here uh it's crucial
00:17:47.000 that the training uh capacity it's so agonizing to listen to mark carney speak because he's he's one
00:17:57.700 of the worst public speakers ever to occupy the office of canadian prime minister he cannot get through
00:18:03.580 a sentence let alone a paragraph without uh um uh um and that's because he really doesn't know what
00:18:14.080 he wants to articulate he is really making it up as he goes along i think this is a prime minister who is
00:18:24.840 way beyond his depth not that he's a stupid man he's a very clever man
00:18:30.600 but he's wondering how do i put this over on canadians how do i convince them that i really have an agenda
00:18:38.320 that is consistent with what's best for canada because i keep lying i keep making it up
00:18:47.900 sooner or later canadians are going to wonder what's up city is there as well and i'd note that uh
00:18:54.940 since russia's uh illegal uh seizure of crimea uh operation unifier which canada put in place
00:19:06.120 has trained over 45 000 uh ukrainian troops uh this will become even more important uh going forward
00:19:12.620 um that's the front line but that's buttressed by should be buttressed by the coalition of the willing
00:19:20.960 potentially the united states in matters of intelligence uh and other support um we are
00:19:27.280 working through with uh our allies and coalition of the willing and with now where have you heard
00:19:34.740 coalition of the willing before this is quite interesting because mark carney uses phrases
00:19:44.200 and uses terminology because he is intending to get a point across we had a coalition of the willing
00:19:55.300 in the iraq war which actually canada didn't get involved in at the time i want to tell you i was
00:20:03.660 completely supportive of the iraq war i thought canada should have sent troops we should have had a
00:20:09.840 military contingent of some kind and i criticized then prime minister john krecher vigorously for not
00:20:17.660 doing so of course i've since realized that the iraq war was based on a completely false and mendacious
00:20:24.900 premise that there were weapons of mass destruction in iraq it turned out it was completely bogus it was
00:20:33.840 made up and of course saddam hussein had nothing to do with 9 11. that as well was made up but george bush
00:20:43.020 george herbert walker bush president
00:20:46.700 bush at the time talked about a coalition of the willing
00:20:52.660 so here we go again but this time this is a coalition of the willing to what
00:20:58.820 send troops to ukraine and potentially fight russia is this what mark carney really wants
00:21:05.420 well this is the talk we hear from people like uk prime minister kirk starmer from french
00:21:11.820 president emmanuel macron they're actually talking about potentially going to war with russia which of
00:21:19.900 course would be catastrophic and canada is in no position to threaten russia or to promise ukraine
00:21:27.720 anything except more billions of dollars that will pour into the black hole of kiev and into
00:21:34.120 ukrainian president volomar zelinski's pockets and that's what we're dealing with with ukraine it is a
00:21:45.520 potential quagmire for foreign interference foreign military interference but i predict this war is going
00:21:54.380 to be over before people like mark carney can decide who controls what ukraine uh the modalities
00:22:04.860 of those uh security guarantees uh on land in the air uh and the sea uh and i would not exclude uh the
00:22:14.340 presence of troops we need a cessation of hostilities we need a ceasefire we can call it a ceasefire a truce
00:22:19.920 an armistice uh that's necessary to uh stop the killing um but the conditions around that um
00:22:27.360 the there is a difference actually between the ceasefire and armistice and if you get there are
00:22:35.240 differences between these these words and mark carney is being deliberately
00:22:42.280 vague and ambiguous about this because mark carney doesn't have a plan
00:22:48.480 and he knows this is ultimately between russia and ukraine and even donald trump
00:22:57.280 isn't going to issue any verdict ultimatum demands because donald trump is smart enough to know
00:23:05.380 he can be a mediator he can be an interlocutor in the peace process but the united states
00:23:14.420 knows it's not going to dictate terms and mark carney i'm sorry you're a joke what do you think
00:23:22.300 you're going to do this there will be um military force in ukraine ukrainian military force there'll be
00:23:29.900 no exclusion of pathways for ukraine uh to the european union or to nato for that matter pathways
00:23:37.800 towards um and there will be security guarantees this is some of the most incredible propaganda
00:23:44.800 because here they've got what looks like the best of their troops lined up here looking smart in
00:23:52.760 their combat fatigues looking ready and capable they probably found what what might be the last and
00:24:03.700 the best of their troops and put them on display in kiev just for mark carney because the ukrainians
00:24:11.040 are are actually using 16 year olds and 60 year olds to fight this war because there's none of these
00:24:17.940 types left in other words people of real military age the fittest the toughest most of them are dead
00:24:26.360 according to colonel doug mcgregor who's been on this show many times it's 1.8 to 2 million ukrainians
00:24:33.860 might have died in this war so far ukraine is a vanishing nation because of this war and because
00:24:42.300 people like mark carney have perpetuated this war for years with more military and civil aid to ukraine
00:24:49.640 a lot of it has gone into the pockets of corrupt politicians and to swiss bank accounts there will
00:24:54.960 be security guarantees in any durable ceasefire uh that's the lesson of minsk that's the lesson of
00:25:02.400 2014 that's the lesson of history is that we need not to trust and verify but deter and fortify and the
00:25:15.220 fortification the deterrence is anchored in those security guarantees again as i said starting with
00:25:21.760 the ukrainian army uh and reinforcing that but then being buttressed by the coalition of the willing
00:25:27.760 and again i welcome without specifying welcome the openness of president trump uh to some form of u.s
00:25:36.540 participation in that now all of this in real time as you ask your question is under discussion about
00:25:42.760 the specificities and the modalities uh but it's not the choice of russia how the future
00:25:49.800 sovereignty independence liberty of ukraine uh is guaranteed uh it's the choice of ukraine uh and the
00:25:58.940 decisions of the partners
00:26:00.000 actually at this point it's very little to do with the decision of ukraine they've lost the war
00:26:09.520 and that's political military reality which mark carney seems incapable of embracing or understanding
00:26:16.000 at this point but that's that's reality i want to play a clip from peer poly of resurgence this is
00:26:24.100 before he saw yesterday's poll and i can tell you this there was joy in the conservative party
00:26:30.220 headquarters yesterday when they saw they finally reached a turning point a turnaround the honeymoon for
00:26:38.360 mark carney is over and it's only going to get worse because mark carney has nothing to offer
00:26:43.900 except more falsehoods more false promises more policies that go nowhere except further economic ruin
00:26:53.780 and mark carney built his government on a house of cards the house of cards is collapsing it's falling
00:27:03.940 because there's nothing there but here's an issue peer poly of can use
00:27:09.480 not only to maintain his control of the conservative party canada as its leader
00:27:15.640 as he as he needs to run to the right in anticipation of that next leadership
00:27:23.140 vote
00:27:25.380 but this is an issue that is going to resonate with all canadians because they're sick
00:27:33.200 of liberals or faux conservatives like doug ford who pretends he's outraged over home invasions
00:27:40.520 but does nothing about it this is a great statement by peer poly
00:27:45.140 all needs to be clear that if someone comes into your house uninvited to steal your property or harm
00:27:52.940 your family you need to do what is you need to be able to do whatever is necessary to stop them
00:27:58.260 and my message to the criminal thugs who are invading the homes of canadians in unprecedented
00:28:07.000 number numbers because of liberal laws is that you should be in serious danger if you go into
00:28:14.160 someone's house illegally and try to harm them if you don't want to be harmed then don't invade
00:28:19.920 someone's house and don't threaten their security the law needs to be very clear that people have the
00:28:26.500 right to defend their homes and their families against lawbreakers
00:28:31.000 yeah i borrowed that from the conservative party so anyway that was very very good we need castle
00:28:41.920 law in canada or you don't talk about reasonable force talk about whatever force is necessary
00:28:49.780 to expel home invaders let's not mince our words let's because you put reasonable in any law it's going
00:28:58.940 to be eviscerated by woke politicians and woke lawyers and woke just just judges who are going to say
00:29:07.760 well that wasn't reasonable and nothing will be reasonable for people who think the criminals should
00:29:14.300 have more rights than the victims who think the criminals have a perfect right to enter your home
00:29:20.960 if you try to stop them you're the guilty one
00:29:23.760 and that's the conundrum for the woke politician because they can't justify that it doesn't make any
00:29:36.920 sense and most people with half a brain will say you know i think if a home intruder comes in and tries
00:29:44.400 to steal my property threaten my life violate my privacy endanger the lives of my family my wife
00:29:54.020 my husband my children then i think i have a right to stop them and polyev is right on track with this
00:30:02.800 now i'm going to come back in a second with some more thoughts from our friend sean foy but we'll be
00:30:12.380 right back after this brief announcement about our merchandise

00:30:25.280 you
00:30:27.280 you
00:30:31.280 you
00:30:33.280 you
00:30:37.280 you
00:30:39.280 you
00:30:41.280 you
00:31:06.860 you
00:31:07.860 i encourage you to have a look at the store some of you have been very generous lately and i i
00:31:28.420 thank you for your generosity and and for buying some of the material they have some of the merchandise
00:31:34.340 there which i think is well we're we're quite proud of it and i thank you for for taking an
00:31:40.420 interest in it now we want to go back to
00:31:45.540 i'm gonna go back to sean foy's x posting here because
00:31:49.060 this absolutely i find this absolutely astounding here
00:31:55.220 because sean foy was in
00:31:58.980 in abbotsford last night it was the concluding city of his tour he had nothing but difficulty
00:32:10.580 with the abbotsford mayor and the town council didn't want they didn't want him there but here
00:32:18.500 you know sean foy reposts
00:32:20.100 this message from the real mr bench and sean says but for safety concerns guys
00:32:27.700 and
00:32:29.640 this is what city politicians in the media across canada view as a safety concern
00:32:34.820 people in abbotsford worshiping jesus at the lettuce worship concert led by sean foy
00:32:41.460 in abbotsford that's the danger we saw we saw the daisy media
00:32:48.900 sean foy writes the only one to end the most wild exhausting beautiful and unpredictable
00:32:56.660 god journey from coast to coast across 11 cities in canada and you know i say again
00:33:05.300 the only city that sean foy played in make canada free again yeah the only city the canada that sean
00:33:16.260 foy played in
00:33:20.900 where there was no opposition i mean from the gut from
00:33:26.500 the city was edmonton because the premier of alberta invited sean to perform on the steps of the
00:33:32.180 legislature thank you very much for that premier daniel smith thanks for being a leader a real leader
00:33:38.900 and here he is the city of abbotsford said no god said yes
00:33:47.380 here's another one the liberal mainstream media is going to live stream tonight from the u.s
00:33:52.660 canada border you can't make this up worship and the preaching of the gospel being broadcast
00:33:59.300 across the nation
00:34:05.220 yeah and he has been smeared
00:34:09.140 actually so i'm wrong saskatoon said yes
00:34:15.380 every other canadian city with the exception of edmonton and saskatoon tried to prevent sean from
00:34:21.860 performing because they don't believe in freedom of religion they don't believe in free speech they
00:34:26.500 don't believe in freedom of assembly they believe in nothing except world politics
00:34:30.820 these people must go we have got to return to something resembling democratic freedom in this
00:34:38.980 country and foundational to democratic freedom is freedom of religion freedom of speech and freedom
00:34:44.580 of assembly all of these things are under attack from the carny liberals just as they were
00:34:51.060 under the trudeau liberals mark carney said nothing about the violating
00:34:57.940 freedom of religion sean boy came here in july he said nothing this week when he experienced the
00:35:02.820 same kind of activity he will say nothing because he does not believe in freedom of religion
00:35:07.780 and remember what peer polly have said the other day what people are seeing is that mark carney
00:35:13.700 while he promised he made grand promises of change he's even worse than justin trudeau
00:35:25.940 it's my lesson for you today mark carney is even worse than justin trudeau
00:35:30.020 he is going to plummet in the polls just as justin trudeau did just as justin did yes that's on the horizon
00:35:38.180 for mark carney so take heart let not your hearts be troubled we're fighting back so this has been
00:35:46.900 david craden broadcasting to you live from our nation's capital or broadcasting sorry from our nation's
