00:00:01.000 Doug Ford on Fox News to show them that we're not messing around up here and we're going to send Danielle next.
00:00:09.800 Maybe we won't send Danielle. Maybe we won't send Danielle. No, that was a bad idea. Strike that. Just ignore that back there.
00:00:21.380 Liberal leader Mark Carney at a rally over the weekend talking about premiers appearing on Fox News to advocate for cross-border diplomacy.
00:00:27.760 He said diplomacy rather he says it would be a bad idea quote unquote to put Alberta Premier Danielle Smith on the network.
00:00:34.260 Ontario Premier Doug Ford brushed off the comments this morning saying Carney was just joking around but Smith took or had a different response.
00:00:42.260 Well, I've noticed this with progressive men how much they talk about how much they support women until they meet a strong conservative woman and the attitude is sit down and shut up.
00:00:52.660 Well, I don't shut up. I make sure that Albertans know exactly how I feel about issues.
00:00:57.760 So who's the best Premier in Canada?
00:01:02.900 Daniel Smith.
00:01:04.100 Just love this response and I'll go into it in a larger way in a minute here when we come back.
00:01:11.200 A few words about where we are in this campaign, about what Daniel Smith did, but what Carney's in trouble for again, and about that rally in Edmonton last night.
00:01:25.240 Truly, truly historic.
00:01:27.940 When we come back.
00:01:29.100 The Prime Minister lied and his minions continue to lie.
00:01:41.380 We need a political change.
00:01:46.840 But we also need to resolve to resist.
00:01:49.540 Yes, it's David Creighton coming at you live from our nation's capital in Ottawa where it's snowing.
00:02:04.900 We got about, oh, I would say an inch of snow last night and woke up to this.
00:02:09.640 It's going to go away.
00:02:10.640 But very unusual to have this amount of snow in Ontario.
00:02:16.800 If you're not in the snow belt at this time of year.
00:02:21.100 I was just getting into spring.
00:02:23.860 Just feeling good about the weather again.
00:02:27.940 But here we go.
00:02:29.280 I love this story with Daniel Smith.
00:02:30.980 Because I played this clip yesterday with Mark Carney denigrating Daniel Smith.
00:02:35.100 Oh, no, no.
00:02:35.800 We can't send her.
00:02:37.220 She's not part of our Team Canada.
00:02:39.300 She's not part of Team Carney.
00:02:41.160 Doug Ford is, though.
00:02:42.560 We can send the faux conservative.
00:02:44.840 Daniel Smith is a true conservative, a principled conservative, and she's fighting the good fight.
00:02:51.120 We had her on this broadcast a couple of weeks ago.
00:02:54.060 I want to have her on again before the election. 0.84
00:02:57.220 I hope.
00:02:57.680 We'll see.
00:02:58.040 But really admire the fact that she's got guts.
00:03:03.920 She's got moxie, which is something Doug Ford ain't never going to have. 1.00
00:03:09.000 He's never going to find it within him.
00:03:11.100 You remember this?
00:03:12.380 I love this.
00:03:13.040 Because I reported on this.
00:03:14.380 I was a columnist at the time for the Western Standard.
00:03:17.360 And I wrote a column about this meeting between Daniel Smith and then Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
00:03:24.800 This is classic.
00:03:25.920 So you notice how he really squeezes the hand.
00:03:37.160 Like he's trying to say, I am in authority here.
00:03:42.060 And then he says, here, sit down.
00:03:44.300 I love that.
00:03:47.160 How many times did Trudeau do that to premieres, female premiers, or female cabinet ministers, or female MPs? 1.00
00:03:55.500 Sit down over there, please. 1.00
00:03:58.820 Shut up. 0.99
00:03:59.840 Don't say anything more. 1.00
00:04:00.900 I'm the leader here. 1.00
00:04:02.720 And of course, Trudeau, what a hypocrite. 1.00
00:04:05.120 Calls himself a proto-feminist. 1.00
00:04:07.260 A male feminist.
00:04:08.240 Just is so supportive of women's rights.
00:04:11.800 Was so sad when Kamala Harris won the presidential election.
00:04:16.120 Remember him going, thank you very much, Justin, for really pissing off Donald Trump by saying,
00:04:24.020 I wish Kamala had won.
00:04:26.320 It set back women's rights decades. 1.00
00:04:28.440 Well, no, you have set back women's rights. 1.00
00:04:31.160 If it means equality and not equity, and that's what Daniel Smith stands for, equality, not equity.
00:04:37.940 She is a true conservative.
00:04:40.120 Now, let's play the whole session here, because she gets some snarky questions about Alberta separatism. 0.94
00:04:47.580 Is she feeding Alberta separatism? 0.68
00:04:50.640 Let's listen to this.
00:04:51.300 Doug Ford on a fox.
00:04:53.020 Oh, sorry.
00:04:54.480 Here we go.
00:04:55.100 Graham Thompson, the star.
00:04:56.520 I have a question on today's topic.
00:04:58.820 It's a second question.
00:04:59.800 The first question is, going back to this idea about Western separation,
00:05:03.680 Preston Manning wrote an op-ed last week in the Globe and Mail,
00:05:07.640 saying, warning people in the rest of Canada, a vote for Carney's liberals is a vote for Western secession.
00:05:16.080 Do you see it that way?
00:05:18.020 I think that there is a lot of frustration on the part of Albertans, and I think you see it.
00:05:23.140 I mean, I'd be blind if I didn't see what is occurring in the media, on social media.
00:05:28.960 I have to acknowledge that there's a lot of unhappiness on the part of Albertans in the way we've been treated by the Liberal government for the past 10 years.
00:05:35.860 And unfortunately for the current Prime Minister, he seems to not be very clear about what it is he's going to do to reset that relationship,
00:05:43.720 because he says different things in different parts of the province, different parts of the country, different things in English and French.
00:05:49.000 And so I'm going to have a six-month period after the election where I have a number of items that I put on the table early
00:05:57.060 that I think need to be done to address the 10 years of economic devastation that the federal government has caused to our province.
00:06:05.760 And I would hope no matter who wins that we'd be able to correct those things.
00:06:08.880 But I judge people more by their action than by their words, and so I want to be able to see what happens after the next election,
00:06:16.960 and then I'll gauge where Albertans are at at that point.
00:06:20.840 We have a question from Rick Bell from Post Media.
00:06:24.080 Your line is open.
00:06:26.380 Good afternoon, Premier and Minister.
00:06:28.300 I should mention, Rick Bell is a long-time columnist for the Calgary Sun and Herald.
00:06:36.500 It used to be just the Calgary Sun, but now they're basically the same paper.
00:06:40.060 They're all owned by Post Media.
00:06:42.320 I knew Rick Bell fairly well when I was a columnist for the Calgary Herald many years ago.
00:06:48.220 And Rick has always been brutally honest.
00:06:51.560 He's pro-conservative.
00:06:52.960 He's always, and he's pro-Daniel Smith, obviously, but he's brutally honest in his writing.
00:06:57.380 And I think, like myself, he doesn't, he's never been in the bag.
00:07:01.920 When he sees something he doesn't like, he'll say so.
00:07:05.120 But I love his question here.
00:07:06.520 Dr. Eagle, who I've known for many, many years.
00:07:10.620 How do you feel about being mocked by the Prime Minister of Canada and Liberal leaders,
00:07:17.140 which he did, I believe, in Victoria, bringing your name up and the name of Premier Ford,
00:07:21.820 but more so yourself and making you the butt of jokes during the campaign?
00:07:28.380 Well, I've noticed this with progressive men, how much they talk about how much they support women
00:07:33.680 until they meet a strong conservative woman. 1.00
00:07:36.320 And so this is a pretty consistent type of approach that I've seen,
00:07:40.200 not only from the current Prime Minister, but the former one as well. 0.94
00:07:43.360 And the attitude is, sit down and shut up. 0.93
00:07:46.160 Well, I don't shut up. 0.71
00:07:47.340 I make sure that Albertans know exactly how I feel about issues.
00:07:51.280 And I'm going to continue advocating on behalf of my province, whether he likes it or not.
00:07:57.340 And supplementary is, and I know you've stated, obviously, you are not a separatist.
00:08:04.620 But do you think...
00:08:06.040 See, it's very important.
00:08:07.840 Carney is implying, and the Liberals are implying,
00:08:11.220 that Daniel Smith is stoking the fires,
00:08:14.160 where have you heard that cliche,
00:08:15.580 of separatism in Alberta.
00:08:17.780 No, Daniel Smith is recognizing
00:08:19.880 that if Mark Carney
00:08:21.140 becomes the elected Prime Minister
00:08:24.100 and not just the appointed one,
00:08:26.700 Canada will 0.90
00:08:28.020 suffer
00:08:29.020 a period of national disunity,
00:08:33.540 if you will.
00:08:34.280 It will be a national
00:08:35.980 unity crisis.
00:08:37.960 And Daniel Smith has to acknowledge that.
00:08:41.340 Otherwise, she's delusional.
00:08:43.820 It doesn't mean you're trying
00:08:45.560 to encourage people
00:08:47.060 to separate
00:08:48.460 or encouraging your province
00:08:51.240 to separate.
00:08:52.000 You have to acknowledge the reality
00:08:53.560 of what Mark Carney means for Canada.
00:08:56.660 He means catastrophe. 1.00
00:08:59.360 And there's a lot of stupid Canadians 1.00
00:09:01.840 right now 1.00
00:09:02.520 who don't seem to get that.
00:09:05.760 Now, why is that?
00:09:06.520 And I'll talk about that in a moment. 1.00
00:09:08.520 Why are there so many stupid Canadians? 1.00
00:09:11.080 Well, this is a question 1.00
00:09:12.220 we really have to answer.
00:09:13.540 I think Canadians
00:09:14.400 elsewhere,
00:09:16.040 outside Alberta,
00:09:17.720 should be concerned
00:09:19.040 at what a Liberal victory,
00:09:22.280 especially a Liberal majority
00:09:23.500 of the victory,
00:09:24.380 would mean
00:09:24.920 for a lot of people
00:09:26.960 in Alberta.
00:09:28.980 Because
00:09:29.460 the emails I get is
00:09:31.500 they're not concerned about that.
00:09:32.920 They just think we're a bunch 0.99
00:09:33.880 of self-entitled whiners. 0.97
00:09:35.380 and a brick on top. 0.94
00:09:38.840 So what are your thoughts
00:09:39.800 about the fact that
00:09:40.780 what should Canadians
00:09:43.500 think at all
00:09:45.240 about that national unity question?
00:09:46.800 I put on the table
00:09:49.500 nine things that I know
00:09:50.740 that the federal government
00:09:51.600 needs to do
00:09:52.220 to reset its relationship
00:09:53.280 with Alberta.
00:09:53.980 And many of those things
00:09:55.080 are necessary
00:09:55.620 to reset the relationship
00:09:57.220 with all of the provinces.
00:09:59.380 If you go across the country,
00:10:00.740 it's difficult
00:10:01.460 to get anything built,
00:10:02.600 any type
00:10:03.200 of critical infrastructure.
00:10:05.060 It's difficult
00:10:05.600 to get any type
00:10:06.400 of mining operations approved.
00:10:08.480 It's,
00:10:09.120 you have
00:10:10.100 not just
00:10:11.000 one or two year timelines,
00:10:12.440 you've got
00:10:12.660 ten year timelines
00:10:13.620 to get things
00:10:14.440 built and taken to market.
00:10:15.800 And quite frankly,
00:10:17.120 it's the federal government's job
00:10:18.720 under the trade
00:10:19.480 and commerce power
00:10:20.160 that they have
00:10:20.900 to facilitate
00:10:21.840 that international access.
00:10:23.460 So I would say
00:10:24.200 that everyone
00:10:25.140 should be concerned
00:10:26.080 about the direction.
00:10:28.900 And this is
00:10:29.260 a very important election.
00:10:30.620 Everybody should be concerned,
00:10:31.900 should listen
00:10:32.300 to the promises
00:10:32.940 and to see
00:10:33.820 which of the candidates
00:10:35.660 is actually going
00:10:36.700 to unleash
00:10:37.400 the economic power
00:10:38.280 of every single province
00:10:39.520 and every single region
00:10:40.300 and every single industry.
00:10:41.640 We just have had
00:10:42.500 ten years of experience
00:10:43.780 with the Liberals
00:10:44.880 where they have done
00:10:45.520 every possible thing
00:10:46.480 they could
00:10:46.880 to try to keep
00:10:47.760 our oil and gas
00:10:48.600 in the ground
00:10:49.320 or incentive
00:10:50.420 or disincentivize investment
00:10:52.320 or chase away investment
00:10:53.280 or cancel investment.
00:10:54.720 And I'm just here
00:10:55.840 to say
00:10:56.160 that ends
00:10:56.880 regardless
00:10:57.440 of who becomes
00:10:58.340 Prime Minister of Canada.
00:10:59.820 And I think
00:11:00.540 that as a measure
00:11:01.280 of goodwill
00:11:01.860 addressing those nine issues
00:11:03.080 I put on the table
00:11:03.860 would be a good start.
00:11:04.940 So I'm going to judge it
00:11:06.240 based on the actions
00:11:07.040 of whoever happens
00:11:08.260 to win on April the 28th.
00:11:10.360 Of course,
00:11:10.980 she has already endorsed
00:11:12.460 Pyropolyev
00:11:13.740 as her choice
00:11:14.500 of who wins
00:11:15.200 on April 28th.
00:11:16.640 And that will be
00:11:17.200 certainly
00:11:17.660 a lot easier
00:11:19.280 of a ride
00:11:20.280 for Alberta
00:11:21.680 if Pyropolyev
00:11:23.000 becomes
00:11:23.520 Prime Minister.
00:11:24.840 And you have to remember
00:11:25.600 Pyropolyev
00:11:26.200 did reside
00:11:28.240 and was raised
00:11:29.520 in Alberta
00:11:30.180 in Calgary.
00:11:31.240 And that's where
00:11:31.580 I first met
00:11:32.220 Pyropolyev.
00:11:33.280 He was actually
00:11:33.760 working on a campaign.
00:11:36.600 He was the communications
00:11:39.080 guy on a campaign
00:11:40.100 for Ezra Levent
00:11:41.920 who was
00:11:42.700 seeking a nomination
00:11:44.080 who had actually
00:11:44.820 won the nomination
00:11:45.800 in Calgary
00:11:47.260 Southwest.
00:11:50.540 I believe it was Southwest.
00:11:51.640 Yeah.
00:11:52.040 And anyway,
00:11:53.040 I won't get into that
00:11:53.980 at the moment
00:11:54.540 but there's a story
00:11:55.540 to be told there
00:11:56.560 that this is not
00:11:57.580 the time
00:11:58.080 to tell
00:11:59.140 that story.
00:12:00.900 But I was talking 1.00
00:12:01.920 about stupid 1.00
00:12:02.500 Canadians 1.00
00:12:03.400 and yes,
00:12:04.000 there are a lot 1.00
00:12:04.800 of really stupid 1.00
00:12:06.620 Canadians right now 1.00
00:12:07.600 because they continue
00:12:09.180 to support
00:12:10.800 I'm trying to find
00:12:13.880 this slide here.
00:12:16.000 Anyway,
00:12:16.300 our latest poll
00:12:17.380 today,
00:12:18.060 for instance.
00:12:19.200 Let me find this.
00:12:20.360 I've got to
00:12:21.460 sorry,
00:12:32.720 I have to find
00:12:34.260 this because
00:12:34.740 it's extremely
00:12:35.700 important.
00:12:43.640 Presto.
00:12:44.900 Here we go.
00:12:45.680 Now,
00:12:50.960 if we look at this
00:12:51.580 if you can squint
00:12:52.220 we've got another
00:12:54.240 10-point spread here
00:12:55.380 46-36
00:12:56.340 for the Liberals.
00:12:58.440 Now,
00:12:59.100 this poll
00:13:01.140 comes out
00:13:01.580 the day after
00:13:02.220 Pierre Polly
00:13:02.840 attracts 15,000
00:13:03.900 people in Edmonton
00:13:04.960 and we'll get to that
00:13:06.120 I'm saving that
00:13:07.080 for last
00:13:07.460 because I like
00:13:08.060 to end
00:13:08.420 on a positive note.
00:13:09.300 Now,
00:13:11.100 do I believe
00:13:11.740 that there's been
00:13:12.320 something going on
00:13:13.500 with the polling
00:13:16.120 in this country?
00:13:18.020 Has this ever
00:13:18.940 happened before?
00:13:20.220 The question you ask.
00:13:21.580 Has there ever
00:13:22.120 been another election
00:13:23.140 where all the polls
00:13:24.840 have been wrong?
00:13:26.100 Well,
00:13:26.440 yes.
00:13:27.380 The U.S.
00:13:27.940 election
00:13:28.320 we just went through.
00:13:29.820 All the polls
00:13:30.480 were indicating
00:13:31.100 either a really,
00:13:33.440 really close race
00:13:34.340 between Donald Trump
00:13:35.120 and Kamala Harris
00:13:35.940 in all of the swing states
00:13:37.300 or Kamala Harris
00:13:38.700 being ahead.
00:13:39.420 Of course,
00:13:39.800 it wasn't true.
00:13:41.000 The only problem
00:13:41.840 I have with that
00:13:42.660 is,
00:13:42.960 as I've said,
00:13:44.220 we're not dealing
00:13:45.140 with a two-party system
00:13:46.840 in Canada.
00:13:47.720 We're dealing
00:13:48.200 with a four-party system
00:13:49.520 in Quebec
00:13:50.940 and the bloc
00:13:51.920 does siphon off
00:13:53.020 voters from conservatives.
00:13:55.160 There's no question
00:13:56.080 about that
00:13:56.640 in Quebec.
00:13:57.520 So,
00:13:57.720 it reduces
00:13:58.500 the number of seats
00:13:59.380 that conservatives
00:13:59.900 can get in Quebec.
00:14:01.300 And,
00:14:01.500 of course,
00:14:01.640 the NDP
00:14:02.120 is imploding right now.
00:14:03.700 Look at,
00:14:04.020 it's the yellow line
00:14:06.640 on this chart.
00:14:07.500 They're imploding
00:14:08.320 and where do you think
00:14:11.200 that support's going?
00:14:11.980 Obviously,
00:14:12.580 to the liberals.
00:14:13.920 So,
00:14:14.280 that is where
00:14:15.360 the liberal support
00:14:16.180 is going.
00:14:16.640 Some of it
00:14:17.260 seems to be coming
00:14:17.940 from soft conservative
00:14:19.020 support.
00:14:20.140 But,
00:14:20.440 once again,
00:14:20.840 I believe there's
00:14:24.000 a problem here
00:14:24.660 and we're going
00:14:25.200 to get to
00:14:26.500 that in a minute.
00:14:29.060 But,
00:14:29.300 there are far 1.00
00:14:29.880 too many stupid Canadians 1.00
00:14:31.520 who are supporting 1.00
00:14:32.720 Mark Carney.
00:14:33.660 Now,
00:14:33.940 look at this.
00:14:35.540 This is
00:14:35.880 the WeChat.
00:14:37.900 China is, 0.69
00:14:39.300 and you have to
00:14:40.000 laugh at the
00:14:41.180 differing headlines.
00:14:42.280 The National Post
00:14:43.040 says,
00:14:43.320 Chinese government
00:14:44.280 boosted Carney posts
00:14:45.700 on popular
00:14:46.840 social media
00:14:47.800 platforms.
00:14:48.840 And,
00:14:50.840 now,
00:14:51.840 much of the
00:14:52.340 mainstream media
00:14:53.180 has pretended,
00:14:55.020 pretended,
00:14:56.540 that this was
00:14:58.520 some kind of
00:14:59.620 action
00:15:00.720 by China
00:15:01.920 that was hurting
00:15:03.460 Mark Carney,
00:15:04.660 that he was being
00:15:05.400 targeted.
00:15:06.820 See,
00:15:07.120 Mark Carney,
00:15:07.580 the focus of
00:15:08.020 Chinese news
00:15:09.520 account on WeChat,
00:15:11.580 forward interference,
00:15:12.460 watchdog wars.
00:15:13.400 And,
00:15:13.700 if you read
00:15:14.140 further into the
00:15:15.100 star,
00:15:15.360 the star says
00:15:16.020 he was targeted
00:15:17.340 by this
00:15:19.020 Chinese news
00:15:20.320 account.
00:15:21.700 Which,
00:15:22.400 of course,
00:15:22.920 sounds like
00:15:25.160 it was unwelcome.
00:15:27.520 But,
00:15:27.740 Mark Carney
00:15:28.300 is so beholden
00:15:29.820 to China,
00:15:30.740 it's beyond belief.
00:15:32.880 This information
00:15:33.840 campaign sought
00:15:34.680 to portray
00:15:35.160 Carney as tough
00:15:36.140 in his dealings
00:15:36.760 with the United
00:15:37.200 States.
00:15:38.460 Even trying to
00:15:39.740 tell Canadians
00:15:40.360 that Carney
00:15:40.800 is a rock star.
00:15:42.620 This is what
00:15:43.280 the WeChat
00:15:43.800 was saying.
00:15:44.800 It also sought
00:15:45.600 to play up
00:15:46.100 his credentials
00:15:46.760 and experiences,
00:15:47.840 saying,
00:15:48.120 after all,
00:15:49.260 Carney is a
00:15:49.820 veteran who
00:15:50.300 has been
00:15:50.580 working in
00:15:51.000 the financial
00:15:51.400 circle for
00:15:52.000 many years
00:15:52.560 and is well
00:15:53.460 versed in the
00:15:54.820 routine of
00:15:55.360 speaking with
00:15:55.960 data.
00:15:57.060 As soon as he
00:15:57.640 came to power,
00:15:59.800 he quickly
00:16:00.200 launched a
00:16:01.120 tax reduction
00:16:01.960 policy.
00:16:03.700 For example,
00:16:04.260 he proposed
00:16:04.740 to reduce taxes
00:16:05.600 on the middle
00:16:06.080 class and
00:16:08.260 reduce the
00:16:08.880 minimum tax
00:16:09.520 rate by 1%.
00:16:10.440 Big bloody
00:16:11.380 deal. 0.88
00:16:12.200 At the same
00:16:12.760 time,
00:16:13.200 he waved his
00:16:13.900 hand and
00:16:14.380 abolished the
00:16:14.920 carbon emission
00:16:15.480 tax.
00:16:15.760 No,
00:16:16.440 he did
00:16:16.740 not.
00:16:17.420 He lowered
00:16:17.860 it temporarily
00:16:18.540 to zero.
00:16:20.300 This combined
00:16:21.160 punch tried
00:16:22.500 to please
00:16:22.960 voters with
00:16:23.540 the strategy
00:16:24.060 of giving
00:16:24.540 money plus
00:16:25.100 environmental
00:16:25.460 protection.
00:16:26.560 This is
00:16:26.980 WeChat
00:16:27.280 talking.
00:16:28.800 So that's
00:16:29.200 exactly Mark
00:16:30.600 Carney's
00:16:31.220 talking points,
00:16:31.940 isn't it?
00:16:33.940 This might as
00:16:34.820 well be Mark
00:16:35.340 Carney putting
00:16:36.440 out this
00:16:36.860 information.
00:16:37.980 Thank you
00:16:38.320 very much,
00:16:38.880 Mark Carney.
00:16:39.500 Thank you
00:16:39.760 very much,
00:16:40.300 WeChat and
00:16:40.920 China for
00:16:41.800 continuing to
00:16:42.640 support Mark
00:16:44.120 Carney.
00:16:44.680 Let's have a
00:16:45.180 look at this.
00:16:46.760 Here is the
00:16:47.660 timeline of
00:16:48.460 Mark Carney's
00:16:49.280 being beholden
00:16:50.460 to Beijing.
00:16:51.320 I have to
00:16:51.540 stop saying
00:16:51.960 China,
00:16:52.340 sorry.
00:16:54.280 Took $250
00:16:54.960 million,
00:16:56.040 $276
00:16:57.320 million loan
00:16:58.160 actually from
00:16:59.320 China.
00:17:00.280 He's called
00:17:01.080 for China to
00:17:01.700 dominate the
00:17:02.180 world economy.
00:17:03.140 He let his
00:17:03.560 MP make
00:17:04.340 threats on
00:17:04.940 China's behalf.
00:17:05.900 He replaced
00:17:06.520 that MP with
00:17:07.260 an openly
00:17:07.660 pro-China
00:17:08.240 candidate.
00:17:09.400 China is 0.85
00:17:09.820 actively
00:17:10.260 promoting his
00:17:11.260 campaign.
00:17:12.120 And it's
00:17:12.340 not going to
00:17:12.680 stop with
00:17:13.200 WeChat,
00:17:13.820 believe me.
00:17:14.300 It's got
00:17:15.140 absolutely
00:17:15.540 nothing to
00:17:15.960 do with it.
00:17:16.360 I love
00:17:16.720 this little
00:17:17.120 piece.
00:17:18.340 And of
00:17:18.540 course,
00:17:18.860 Sam Cooper
00:17:21.960 has been doing
00:17:22.580 some wonderful
00:17:23.100 work on this.
00:17:23.760 And I always
00:17:24.180 promote Sam's
00:17:24.900 work whenever I
00:17:25.620 can.
00:17:26.120 Breaking
00:17:26.440 Beijing
00:17:26.840 intelligence
00:17:27.340 operation
00:17:27.940 promotes
00:17:28.640 PM Carney's
00:17:29.820 strength against
00:17:30.360 the U.S.
00:17:30.800 dissuade
00:17:31.500 Chinese-Canadian
00:17:32.300 voters.
00:17:33.320 The election
00:17:33.660 monitor says.
00:17:34.920 This is what
00:17:35.740 is happening.
00:17:37.060 But let's
00:17:37.380 watch.
00:17:37.880 I think this
00:17:38.260 is a great
00:17:38.900 little thing
00:17:44.160 here.
00:17:44.300 time again,
00:17:45.260 tax season.
00:17:46.320 You scramble
00:17:46.940 to file before
00:17:47.660 the deadline,
00:17:48.380 checking every
00:17:48.920 line to avoid
00:17:49.560 getting hit
00:17:50.080 with the dreaded
00:17:50.740 audit.
00:17:51.440 But while
00:17:52.200 you're hard
00:17:52.600 at work and
00:17:53.560 paying more
00:17:54.060 than your
00:17:54.360 share, rich
00:17:55.340 insiders are 1.00
00:17:56.100 working just as
00:17:56.780 hard to avoid
00:17:57.700 paying theirs.
00:17:58.780 They hire 0.99
00:17:59.200 high-priced
00:17:59.940 lawyers and
00:18:00.500 accountants to
00:18:01.120 exploit loopholes,
00:18:02.320 even moving their
00:18:03.000 money overseas to
00:18:03.940 dodge their 0.99
00:18:04.440 taxes.
00:18:05.520 One of them
00:18:06.060 happens to be
00:18:07.040 the Prime
00:18:07.380 Minister.
00:18:08.340 Mark Carney
00:18:08.820 stashed his
00:18:09.540 company cash in
00:18:10.460 Bermuda to
00:18:11.080 avoid Canadian 1.00
00:18:11.840 taxes.
00:18:12.340 Brookfield,
00:18:13.820 Carney's
00:18:14.180 company, chose
00:18:14.860 Bermuda not
00:18:15.620 because of the
00:18:16.060 warm weather.
00:18:17.100 According to
00:18:17.580 KPMG, Bermuda
00:18:18.680 has no income
00:18:19.460 tax, capital
00:18:20.180 gains tax,
00:18:21.020 dividend tax,
00:18:22.080 or withholding
00:18:22.820 tax, making it
00:18:23.880 one of the most
00:18:24.300 attractive tax
00:18:25.160 havens in the
00:18:25.920 world.
00:18:26.580 While he was
00:18:27.200 advising Trudeau
00:18:28.160 to raise your
00:18:28.940 taxes, he made
00:18:30.020 sure that his
00:18:30.580 own funds were
00:18:31.300 stashed safely
00:18:32.200 offshore and out
00:18:33.420 of reach.
00:18:34.080 You can't avoid
00:18:34.860 your taxes and
00:18:35.980 large corporations
00:18:36.900 shouldn't be doing
00:18:37.760 so either.
00:18:38.600 When I'm
00:18:38.960 Prime Minister, I'll
00:18:40.020 crack down on 0.95
00:18:40.760 tax cheats.
00:18:41.680 Here's how.
00:18:42.340 One, I've
00:18:43.100 already announced
00:18:43.700 that I will be
00:18:44.260 naming a Bring 0.99
00:18:45.160 It Home Tax
00:18:46.360 Task Force, which
00:18:48.240 will rewrite the
00:18:49.180 rules to make
00:18:49.980 them fairer, simpler,
00:18:51.300 and easier to
00:18:51.900 administer.
00:18:52.740 But what I'm
00:18:53.220 announcing today is
00:18:54.560 that this same
00:18:55.140 task force will
00:18:56.360 also find ways to
00:18:58.220 close all the
00:18:59.180 loopholes that
00:18:59.940 allow companies to
00:19:01.160 stash their money
00:19:01.960 away in tax
00:19:02.880 havens and avoid
00:19:03.720 paying their fair
00:19:04.480 share here in
00:19:05.200 Canada.
00:19:06.140 Two, I'll
00:19:07.240 redirect CRA
00:19:08.140 resources away from
00:19:09.840 harassing and
00:19:10.620 auditing innocent
00:19:11.680 small business
00:19:12.440 owners towards
00:19:13.720 cracking down on
00:19:14.860 offshore tax havens,
00:19:16.840 making sure we
00:19:17.600 collect at least a
00:19:18.660 billion dollars more
00:19:19.640 every year from
00:19:20.360 those who try to
00:19:21.080 hide their wealth
00:19:21.760 overseas.
00:19:22.820 Three, we'll
00:19:24.040 create a name and
00:19:25.320 shame publication to
00:19:27.060 expose all the
00:19:28.200 wealthy multinational
00:19:29.420 corporations that are
00:19:30.620 dodging taxes and
00:19:31.720 refusing to pay their
00:19:32.620 fair share.
00:19:33.900 Four, we'll expand the
00:19:35.760 offshore tax
00:19:36.740 tax informant program
00:19:37.900 giving whistleblowers up
00:19:39.340 to 20% of their
00:19:40.380 recovered funds when
00:19:41.740 they help expose
00:19:42.620 illegal tax schemes.
00:19:44.460 Conservatives will end
00:19:45.220 the double standard,
00:19:46.380 so multinational
00:19:47.160 corporations and the
00:19:48.180 ultra-rich can't just
00:19:49.640 ship their money
00:19:50.380 abroad to avoid paying
00:19:51.940 their fair share at
00:19:52.940 home.
00:19:53.840 We will target tax
00:19:54.860 cheats, expose their
00:19:56.120 offshore fortunes, and
00:19:57.900 bring it home.
00:19:59.020 We'll do this so that
00:19:59.800 we can lower taxes on
00:20:01.080 people like you, because
00:20:02.840 you've been working too
00:20:03.680 hard for too long to let
00:20:04.920 others make off without
00:20:06.020 paying their fair share.
00:20:07.580 We need to lower taxes
00:20:08.760 on the working people
00:20:09.800 in this country, with a 0.97
00:20:11.100 bring-it-home tax cut on
00:20:12.780 work, investment, energy,
00:20:14.640 and home building.
00:20:15.920 We will lower income tax
00:20:17.380 for the average working
00:20:18.580 class Canadian and senior
00:20:20.240 by 15%, but to get rid
00:20:22.620 of the GST or sales tax
00:20:24.380 on new homes so you can
00:20:25.860 actually afford a place
00:20:26.880 to live.
00:20:27.980 We'll cut taxes on energy
00:20:29.760 by getting rid of the
00:20:30.600 entire carbon tax, and
00:20:32.460 we'll allow you to
00:20:33.060 reinvest your capital gains
00:20:34.560 without any tax as long
00:20:35.960 as your reinvestment
00:20:36.860 happens here in Canada.
00:20:38.600 In other words, bring it
00:20:39.900 home.
00:20:40.540 We need to make this a
00:20:41.360 country where hard work
00:20:42.760 pays off, with a
00:20:44.120 powerful paycheck, a
00:20:45.600 beautiful home, on a safe
00:20:47.100 street under our proud
00:20:48.320 flag.
00:20:49.240 Canada first.
00:20:50.160 Let's bring it home.
00:20:52.480 That was a Conservative
00:20:54.100 Party of Canada video.
00:20:57.520 It was, yes, to some
00:20:59.220 degree, propaganda, but I
00:21:01.160 played it because I think
00:21:02.840 it's largely almost, I
00:21:05.760 would say, almost entirely
00:21:06.760 true, and it does
00:21:08.400 document the fact that
00:21:09.480 Mark Carney is up to no
00:21:10.800 good.
00:21:12.000 He is running away with
00:21:15.260 his, with his, he was
00:21:17.340 running away with his
00:21:18.000 profits, putting them in
00:21:19.140 Bermuda, which has no
00:21:20.900 income tax, and yet he
00:21:23.620 expects you to pay your
00:21:24.620 tax, and I think this is a
00:21:25.680 message we can't forget.
00:21:26.720 And no, I was not paid to
00:21:27.880 run, to run that ad. 0.70
00:21:29.040 I thought it was, it was a
00:21:30.320 good, good piece of
00:21:31.940 information, and that's why
00:21:33.100 I put it on the broadcast
00:21:34.740 this morning, so thank you
00:21:35.900 for watching.
00:21:37.120 Now, why is there a
00:21:38.360 disconnect between the
00:21:39.360 polls and the rally sizes?
00:21:42.200 Well, as long as Pierre
00:21:43.540 Polyev is attracting tens of
00:21:45.640 thousands to his rallies
00:21:48.120 in, from Ontario, well,
00:21:53.480 actually from, from, from
00:21:55.000 BC to Nova Scotia,
00:21:59.040 and last night, Edmonton,
00:22:00.740 of course, if you want to
00:22:02.140 find one place in Alberta
00:22:03.740 where Mark Carney would
00:22:06.040 have had a hope of winning
00:22:07.040 a seat, it would probably
00:22:08.420 be Edmonton.
00:22:09.580 That's the home, of course,
00:22:10.820 of Randy Boissoneau, the
00:22:12.740 two Randys.
00:22:14.280 Edmonton Center is his seat.
00:22:16.560 Edmonton has a tendency
00:22:17.860 even to elect NDP MPs, but
00:22:21.420 over 15,000 people came to
00:22:26.720 Pierre Polyev's rally last
00:22:28.380 night, and it was so good.
00:22:31.160 Had so many people there,
00:22:32.080 the CBC said it was difficult
00:22:34.420 to report because people,
00:22:37.100 it was so packed.
00:22:38.260 Let's listen to this report
00:22:39.340 here.
00:22:40.420 We are just south of Edmonton
00:22:42.200 at Pierre Polyev's rally.
00:22:44.100 His organizers say this is the
00:22:45.600 biggest one yet, more than
00:22:46.780 12,000 people, and an
00:22:49.140 important one for Polyev because
00:22:50.860 tonight he got the endorsement of
00:22:52.660 former Prime Minister Stephen
00:22:54.100 Harper.
00:22:54.500 Have a listen from a person who
00:22:57.040 has been right on all the big
00:22:59.100 issues for a decade and a
00:23:01.880 person who has the energy and
00:23:04.000 yes, the youth to take us
00:23:06.920 forward into a better, stronger
00:23:09.400 and more united future.
00:23:11.500 There have been quite a few
00:23:12.820 technical issues this evening
00:23:14.440 for us because of the fact that
00:23:15.980 there are just so many people
00:23:16.960 packed into that building.
00:23:18.120 It's made it very hard to get
00:23:19.080 information in and out, but
00:23:20.840 Harper did have a few key things
00:23:22.380 to say.
00:23:22.980 He said that he was in a unique
00:23:24.200 position to talk about the
00:23:26.040 leader because he is the only
00:23:28.000 person where both the people
00:23:29.620 running worked for him.
00:23:30.620 Of course, referencing Mark
00:23:31.900 Carney as the former Bank of
00:23:33.480 Canada governor while Stephen
00:23:34.680 Harper was the Prime Minister.
00:23:36.420 He said that his choice for
00:23:38.000 Prime Minister, in his words,
00:23:39.420 without a shadow of a doubt, is
00:23:41.160 Pierre Polyev.
00:23:42.040 He says he has known him for over
00:23:43.420 a quarter of a century, that he
00:23:45.220 worked hard, he fought and he
00:23:46.620 learned, and that he has the
00:23:48.400 political experience and that that
00:23:50.100 is the most important
00:23:51.240 characteristic.
00:23:52.300 So obviously a very important
00:23:53.680 endorsement tonight for Pierre
00:23:54.800 Polyev just south of Edmonton
00:23:56.500 here.
00:23:58.020 Now, I don't know why it was
00:24:00.040 difficult to get information in
00:24:01.680 and out simply because it was
00:24:03.360 crowded.
00:24:03.800 Maybe they're used to going to
00:24:04.760 Mark Carney rallies because if you
00:24:07.700 go to a Mark Carney rally, they're
00:24:09.760 intentionally held in smaller
00:24:12.400 locations, smaller venues, so the
00:24:15.320 crowd looks bigger.
00:24:16.540 I would say Mark Carney is
00:24:19.040 attracting less than half, perhaps
00:24:22.160 30 percent of what Pierre Polyev is
00:24:27.160 attracting at his rallies.
00:24:30.140 So when you attract 15,000 people,
00:24:32.860 and that's apparently record
00:24:34.360 setting, I don't know if it's for
00:24:36.340 Edmonton, it's certainly not the
00:24:37.720 biggest rally in Canadian history, but
00:24:40.380 Polyev is well on his way to
00:24:43.480 achieving that goal, if in fact that's
00:24:45.720 one of his goals, he's close to
00:24:48.880 achieving that objective of
00:24:52.900 hosting, of having the largest
00:24:54.740 political rally in Canadian
00:24:56.720 history.
00:24:57.840 And I think as we get closer to the
00:24:59.760 election, here we are less than
00:25:02.460 three weeks away.
00:25:04.200 Now, I have been asked, before I get
00:25:06.780 to the last clip here, I have been
00:25:08.720 asked by several people over the last
00:25:10.600 couple of days, do I think Pierre
00:25:11.900 Polyev can win this?
00:25:12.820 Yes, he can win this, even with some
00:25:19.280 People's Party of Canada seats, because
00:25:23.920 there's going to be a groundswell of
00:25:26.360 support for Polyev, because people are
00:25:29.160 going to say, my God, Mark Carney is in
00:25:34.200 the pocket of China.
00:25:36.100 Mark Carney is the globalist that these
00:25:38.520 people like Creighton and other
00:25:40.500 podcasters and broadcasters on YouTube
00:25:43.420 have been calling him.
00:25:45.200 It's going to come home, as Pierre
00:25:48.400 Polyev likes to say.
00:25:50.020 And this is going to happen within the
00:25:52.620 next two and a half weeks.
00:25:54.540 And Polyev is going to absolutely
00:25:56.820 decimate Mark Carney in the English
00:26:01.380 language debate.
00:26:02.880 And if Carney's there for one of the
00:26:04.720 French language debates, he'll destroy 0.99
00:26:06.760 him in that one, too.
00:26:07.680 Let's watch a bit of that rally.
00:26:18.200 Thanks to Chief Moran, the next member of
00:26:20.680 Parliament for Edmonton Northwest.
00:26:26.580 Wow, what a fantastic crowd.
00:26:29.820 Thank you, Edmonton.
00:26:31.060 Thank you for being here.
00:26:35.780 Thank you for making yourself a positive
00:26:39.440 part of the most important decision that
00:26:42.580 this country is going to make in decades.
00:26:46.540 Canada right now needs change more
00:26:50.760 desperately than it perhaps ever has.
00:26:54.280 note how Stephen Harper comes out with change.
00:27:02.720 That message has gotten through to the
00:27:04.940 Polyev campaign.
00:27:05.920 I can tell you that with some authority.
00:27:08.760 The campaign is going to be talking about
00:27:10.720 change, change, change, not Trump, Trump,
00:27:14.600 Trump.
00:27:15.280 And please, right now, share this broadcast
00:27:18.240 with your friends and family.
00:27:19.720 YouTube is pushing my numbers down again.
00:27:21.940 I documented this yesterday, and I am going
00:27:26.660 to do something about it.
00:27:27.720 Keep listening.
00:27:28.220 I believe that change, my friends.
00:27:31.940 As someone who had the honor of serving
00:27:35.620 as your prime minister, I know...
00:27:38.940 I know that being prime minister is a trust.
00:27:50.760 It is a trust to take this incredible country
00:27:53.460 that our ancestors bequeathed us
00:27:56.280 and to leave it stronger, more united,
00:28:00.380 more compassionate, and more confident
00:28:02.500 than we found it.
00:28:09.220 That's what we did, my friends.
00:28:12.020 But that is not the story of the past decade,
00:28:15.820 and that has got to change for Canada.
00:28:18.600 bring it home!
00:28:33.580 And do bring it home, friends, because that goal
00:28:36.120 does not depend on Donald Trump,
00:28:40.660 it depends on us.
00:28:42.300 But we will only get there with leadership.
00:28:51.700 From a person who has an actual policy plan, from a person who has been right on all the
00:28:59.080 big issues for a decade, and a person who has the energy, and yes, the youth, to take
00:29:06.900 us forward into a better, stronger, and more united future.
00:29:12.880 That person, that person has been my colleague, he is my friend, he is our leader, and he is
00:29:19.980 the next Prime Minister of Canada, Pierre Paulyev and Anna.
00:29:36.900 Prime Minister, it is an incredible honour to have you here on this stage.
00:29:44.080 It was a little surreal, I have to confess.
00:29:47.440 I remember when I met then-economist Stephen Harper a quarter of a century ago, before he
00:29:54.780 was even back in Parliament and running for leader.
00:29:59.100 And then I remember serving with him for all those years as he took us through the tumultuous
00:30:04.580 times of the war in Afghanistan, the Great Global Recession, always and everywhere.
00:30:12.460 He was solid, competent, honest, decent, down-to-earth.
00:30:19.900 A man who could, in the words of Kipling, walk with kings, but never lose his common touch.
00:30:28.580 Yeah, it's about the same time I met Stephen Harper, and I worked on one of his leadership
00:30:36.460 campaigns when he took over the Canadian Alliance party, and I was his military advisor for that.
00:30:43.580 I criticized Harper often over the years, because I didn't think sometimes he was being conservative
00:30:49.460 enough, and I was never afraid to say that.
00:30:51.580 He was angry at me many times because of columns that appeared in the Calgary Sun, the Calgary
00:30:56.860 Herald.
00:30:57.860 That's okay.
00:30:58.860 I think overall, he was a great Prime Minister.
00:31:01.460 Much better than Justin Trudeau could ever have aspired to be.
00:31:05.200 And he left the country in very good shape.
00:31:07.200 And he left the military in a hell of a lot better shape than Justin Trudeau did.
00:31:12.460 So that was a touching moment last night.
00:31:14.620 That was a great moment, a triumphant moment.
00:31:17.780 I think it's going to get better for Pierre Paulyov, and I think the polls are going to
00:31:21.800 start reflecting how much better it's getting.
00:31:25.820 I've been doing this for over 30 years.
00:31:27.740 I think I know a little bit about election campaigns, and I think I can tell you with
00:31:32.320 some confidence it's going to get better for Pierre Paulyov, and it's going to get a
00:31:36.480 lot worse for Mark Carney.
00:31:37.900 The honeymoon for Mark Carney is just about over.
00:31:42.020 Now, I've got to run today.
00:31:44.560 I might be back later, actually, with another broadcast, but I'll be definitely back tomorrow
00:31:49.040 morning at 10 o'clock.
00:31:51.020 I've got some guests on this week.
00:31:52.340 I'm just trying to arrange the schedule for that.
00:31:55.060 Thanks for watching.
00:31:56.680 God bless and Godspeed.
00:32:00.560 I'm David Creighton.
