On this episode of Stand On Guard, we remember the life and death of Sasha, and talk about the $300 million lawsuit against the Trudeau government by the Freedom Convoy and the other participants of the protest movement against the government.
00:00:00.640Welcome back to another episode of Stand on Guard. I'm your host, David Creighton, and we're celebrating two years of the Freedom Convoy, and I'll explain exactly what I mean by that in a minute.
00:00:15.300So we are in a very precarious position in this country. We need political change, but we also need to resolve to resist.
00:00:30.000Yes, please ring that bell. Subscribe if you haven't, and please support this station.
00:00:43.100I really thank you for watching today, and yes, thank you again for all your condolences and your support over the loss of Sasha.
00:00:53.260And ring the bell in Sasha's memory, please. She would appreciate it, and I do too.
00:01:01.620And she was always a part of this broadcast, and I think we're going to continue to bring you the news that you need to hear and you need to know.
00:01:12.760And it has been such a pleasure to be able to do that for the last year, and it's been about a year now since I started doing this independently, and it's been a really fantastic, positive experience, and I have been so blessed to be a part of it and to have so many fantastic viewers out there.
00:01:34.880Now, you know, I was so dense today, I thought I was going to do a live question period, rushed back from the gym, put on my computer, linked to CPAC, and discovered, hey, how is this incident this week?
00:01:51.460So, I thought I would focus on what I was going to do before question period began, which is to remember the Freedom Convoy, to let you know what's going on with this legal challenge, and to do a little retrospective.
00:02:12.260Because, you know, Valentine's Day was last week, right?
00:02:15.820And that was the second anniversary of Trudeau, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, invoking the, I was going to say the War Measures Act, the Emergencies Act against the Freedom Convoy.
00:05:01.940This is very significant, because what have they got in their favor right now?
00:05:07.360The recognition from a federal judge that the invocation of the Emergencies Act was illegal, improper, unreasonable, unconstitutional, should never have happened.
00:05:20.800So, I would say these Freedom Convoy participants have the full force and weight of the law on their side.
00:05:30.240So, we will see what happens and how the Trudeau government and its underlings and its dark underside
00:05:43.560tries to obfuscate, tries to hide, tries to minimize all of this legal activity.
00:06:25.100We're hoping to have speeches around probably noon.
00:06:27.720And then the planned march is at 2 p.m.
00:06:30.340So, we've been working with Ottawa Police to figure out a route for that.
00:06:34.160There are some other things going on in the city.
00:06:36.120It's the final weekend of Winterlude this weekend.
00:06:38.600And there's also some other planned protests.
00:06:40.240So, the march route isn't exactly finalized yet.
00:06:44.040But we're working with Ottawa Police to make sure that that's going to go off okay.
00:06:47.660And then we're back to the Hill after the march until about 5 o'clock, probably.
00:06:54.440Now, why is it significant that CPAC would cover this news conference?
00:06:57.380Because there's a dawning realization amongst the mainstream media that the Freedom Convoy participants were really treated shabbily by the Trudeau government.
00:07:12.640It's taken them a while to get to that point.
00:07:16.400It's taken them a while even to say Freedom Convoy, to write Freedom Convoy without putting quotation marks around it.
00:07:24.140Like, this is really their way of being condescending.
00:07:30.020But I tell you, a transformation has taken place because not only was this federal court decision very significant and very visceral on the mainstream media,
00:07:43.980But those members of the mainstream media that have been covering the Freedom Convoy trial of Tamara Leach and Chris Barber,
00:07:52.780as I have, when it first started, believe it or not, way back in September, after the Labor Day weekend,
00:08:03.920their opinion, the opinions in the mainstream media have gradually begun to soften.
00:08:10.440And they've begun to understand what the Freedom Convoy was all about.
00:08:15.340While they've watched the evidence compiled by the prosecution,
00:08:20.260which really has not helped the prosecution's case at all,
00:08:26.360but has in fact confirmed everything the Freedom Convoy lawyers and participants have said from day one,
