00:06:29.720 forward and especially after tuesday on wednesday evening there was more documents filed to justice

00:06:35.680 labrens by the defense because tuesday justice labrens had some sort of worrying rhetoric but i mean it

00:06:42.380 it kind of goes back and forth and so in order to consider everything correctly justice labrens

00:06:47.820 pushed the sentencing date back to september 9th the crown is looking for nine years on the mischief

00:06:54.800 and possession of weapons for a dangerous purpose charges which is uh pretty extreme given that you'll

00:07:03.320 remember the mayor thorpe for these four rcmp officers who were murdered in cold blood in mayor

00:07:09.300 thorpe alberta a couple of decades ago uh one of those gentlemen only served seven years so to be

00:07:17.380 accused of being in a conspiracy to murder police officers which they were found not guilty of

00:07:23.120 um the crown is trying to get them on the lesser charges which in no universe would ever produce a nine

00:07:31.520 year sentence the crown is demanding that nine year sentence i think in a vindictive way as crown

00:07:38.520 prosecutor johnston has been extremely vindictive all through this process in order to like you know

00:07:44.120 get around the fact that on the serious charge they were found not guilty so they're just going for

00:07:49.740 maximum sentences i mean this is kind of expected that's how this guy rolls yeah well so you don't

00:11:48.940 member of society he's always been self-employed he's a very hard worker and during trial one of his

00:11:55.140 business associates even testified to the fact that sometimes you use these you sort of explosives to get

00:12:02.500 drill bits out of rock um to blast rock there's all there's all kinds of like go on youtube and and

00:12:08.580 type in you know a mine explosion mine dynamite and they'll show you blowing stuff up to feed it into

00:12:14.500 crushers to make aggregate to make all kinds of different products right but what the crown was doing

00:12:19.400 was using this to pad their case because what they do is they prosecute there's a term for this

00:12:24.860 prosecutorial overcharging where if they're trying to get somebody they throw as many charges at them as

00:12:30.720 they can even know knowing that if the case goes to court they'll probably lose because there might

00:18:50.880 just repeats the government line on this cbc had him on he did his thing did his job to smear the men

00:18:57.340 so i uh myself and another associate uh wrote letters to the cbc about it and they actually answered me

00:19:04.380 and then it would be directly from the cbc's ombudsman and then he looped me in

00:19:09.900 to an email with a guy named uh brody fenlon who's the big cheese big kahuna uh news editor guy for

00:19:16.800 the entire cbc and then a couple of weeks later i get another email from the head of uh the director

00:19:23.300 of journalism for cbc calgary where she tried to dissemble on the coverage and said you know
