Summary

The House of Commons has been suspended from debate, at least for now. Is this a temporary measure by the Speaker, or is it part of a larger strategy by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to keep the opposition on the back foot?

00:00:00.000 Welcome back to another episode of Stand on Guard.
00:00:04.040 I'm your host, David Creighton.
00:00:05.160 Thank you so much for joining me.
00:00:06.460 It's a beautiful day here on the outskirts of Ottawa.
00:00:09.800 So much happening in the House of Commons.
00:00:11.940 Lots of material to deal with this morning.
00:00:14.660 Thank you for joining us as we do that.
00:00:17.200 We'll be back momentarily.
00:00:19.260 Is the House of Commons suspended or not?
00:00:23.940 This is the question of the hour.
00:00:26.120 So we are in a very precarious position in this country.
00:00:30.000 We need political change.
00:00:32.260 But we also need to resolve to resist.
00:00:49.340 So, last night, Andrew Scheer said the House of Commons has been suspended.
00:00:55.340 Suspended from debate, at least.
00:00:56.940 Suspended from talking about anything except the Green Slush Fund.
00:01:00.760 It's not clear because the House hasn't opened yet.
00:01:03.580 It's 8.30 here.
00:01:04.820 It's 8.34.
00:01:06.460 The House will be opening at 10.
00:01:08.300 I'm looking at the parliamentary calendar this morning and I'm seeing business of the House.
00:01:12.840 We're going to watch a video in a minute from Andrew Scheer where he's saying, and he's a former speaker, so he understands the parlance of the speaker and what the speaker's decision was.
00:01:24.820 Which apparently sounds like they want to limit discussion, at the very least, to the Green Slush Fund.
00:01:30.380 Now, what you're saying, what is the Green Slush Fund?
00:01:32.280 We've talked about it before, the long name for the Sustainable Development Technology Canada, SDTC.
00:01:40.380 The Conservatives dubbed it the Green Slush Fund because, in committee, we discovered, they discovered, that there have been hundreds, literally hundreds of millions of dollars passing through this group, this organization.
00:01:56.040 It's unaccountable.
00:01:57.940 And that the Liberals have been giving this money to friends of the Liberal government.
00:02:01.820 Anybody with a green energy project comes up and says, hey, I've got a great idea.
00:02:06.560 Here's 10 million bucks.
00:02:07.540 This is what the Green Slush Fund is all about.
00:02:11.920 Now, all of these documents have been examined, not by the opposition, but by the Auditor General.
00:02:20.580 She doesn't want the unredacted documents to be seen by all of Parliament or the RCMP.
00:02:28.300 And this is what the crux of this issue is right now.
00:02:32.320 Have a look at this.
00:02:33.280 The House of Commons voted to send the unredacted, the uncensored documents to the RCMP.
00:02:41.880 In doing so, they would have to be tabled in the House.
00:02:44.320 So this is a bit of a ruse to get the documents public.
00:02:48.440 And this is extremely important.
00:02:49.660 And the Speaker, I couldn't believe this.
00:02:51.260 The Speaker has ruled in the favor of the House of Commons.
00:02:54.340 Now, we'll talk about this in a minute.
00:02:55.720 Is this part of Liberal strategy?
00:02:58.180 Is the Speaker playing into the hands of Justin Trudeau in this?
00:03:03.140 And it's interesting to say because Trudeau is fighting first and foremost for his political survival.
00:03:10.520 Now, does he want the House to be suspended?
00:03:13.840 Does he want to then prorogue Parliament so he can fight for his political survival and not face a non-confidence motion?
00:03:22.020 Now that the NDP and the Bloc are slowly getting on the side of the Conservatives, because this is a gradual process.
00:03:29.940 But we could have another third non-confidence vote in the next three weeks, which could go towards the Conservative side.
00:03:39.080 Downfall of the government.
00:03:40.020 Not, though, if Parliament is suspended, except talking about anything except the Green Slush Fund, or if Trudeau prorogues Parliament.
00:03:48.440 The good news about proroguing Parliament, of course, and if I'm going too fast for you, I'm trying to get this all in.
00:03:54.320 The good news is that the legislation that we're facing, and this is horrible legislation, Bill C-63, the Online Harms Act, the censorship bill, the thought crimes bill, would be turned to dust.
00:04:07.940 Bill C-293, the vegan bill, which would make a health czar responsible for regulating food during any pandemic, and could outlaw and ban meat products.
00:04:24.480 That bill would disappear.
00:04:26.400 So would the Charlie Angus bill to criminalize promotion of the oil industry.
00:04:33.160 And there's a number of other very dangerous pieces of legislation in front of the Commons, which would be completely obliterated if the House is prorogued.
00:04:43.100 Now, let's listen to Andrew Scheer here.
00:04:45.960 Because this, remember, Andrew is a former Speaker, so he understands the process better than most MPs ever will.
00:04:54.540 Because you really have to be in the Speaker's shoes to understand how the system works.
00:04:58.820 Now, I've often told you, I've worked on Parliament Hill for eight years.
00:05:04.120 So I understand the parliamentary system very well, but you never understand it as well as somebody who's in the center of the process, as Andrew Scheer is.
00:05:12.780 And so I've been through parliaments being suspended.
00:05:15.300 I've been through being prorogued.
00:05:18.320 If Parliament is suspended right now, this would really be an historical first, as far as I could tell, this morning.
00:05:25.640 Parliaments have been prorogued by Stephen Harper.
00:05:27.700 Parliaments have been prorogued by Liberals and Conservatives over the years.
00:05:31.560 It's not that uncommon.
00:05:33.720 But suspension without proroguing?
00:05:35.960 Very, very unusual.
00:05:37.680 So let's listen to Andrew Scheer.
00:05:39.540 After nine years, Justin Trudeau has shown that he's not worth the cost or their corruption.
00:05:44.260 The Speaker has just recently ruled that all House business, all government business must be put aside while Members of Parliament consider Liberal corruption.
00:05:56.600 First, we had the case of the Green Slush Fund, the SDTC Fund, where the Auditor General found over $330 million funneled to Liberal insiders' own businesses.
00:06:12.080 She found massive conflicts of interest.
00:06:15.620 Basically, these Liberal appointed board members who made the decision as to which companies got money, taxpayers' money, from this fund, were funneling that money to their own businesses or to the businesses of their close friends.
00:06:29.540 So the Auditor General has blown the whistle on that, yet the government refuses to hand over the documents to the RCMP.
00:06:36.780 The House of Commons passed a production order demanding that all documents, all information that the Auditor General uncovered, plus any documents that might exist in any government department related to this scandal, be handed over to the RCMP.
00:06:50.080 The government is refusing, and as a result, the House will be seized with this corruption matter until they hand over the documents.
00:06:58.600 And then we have the case of the other Randy, where a senior Trudeau minister is alleged to have been sitting around the cabinet table while also involved in his own business' affairs.
00:07:12.420 His business partner was summoned before committee and refused to disclose all the information, refused to name who the other Randy is, refused to hand over all the documents and answer the questions that were put to him.
00:07:26.780 And as a result, the House is seized with that motion as well.
00:07:30.100 So what we're saying today is that the government will not be able to, the House will be staying on these corruption matters until the Liberals hand over all the documents to the RCMP.
00:07:42.760 While Canadians are suffering with the cost of living crisis that Justin Trudeau caused with his runaway inflation,
00:07:49.720 while millions of Canadians are visiting a food bank for the first time and young Canadians are giving up on the dream of home ownership as housing costs have doubled under the NDP Liberal government,
00:08:00.100 it's clear once again that the Liberals will always stop and enrich their friends while they impoverish Canadians.
00:08:08.020 Matt, what's this going to look like and how long is this going to go on?
00:08:10.300 So the Speaker has ruled that the Parliament's rules were broken in this Liberal cover-up.
00:08:19.260 The House of Commons demanded these documents be sent to the RCMP so that the RCMP can determine whether or not there are criminal charges warranted because of this corruption.
00:08:30.100 The government refused to comply with this long-standing power that Parliament has to hold governments to account.
00:08:37.860 And by doing so, the Speaker has now ruled that all government business must be put aside until the House deals with this corruption motion.
00:08:44.740 It's really up to the government to determine how long that will take,
00:08:48.740 but it's clear that they're willing to go to extreme lengths to cover up their corruption,
00:08:52.980 that they're willing to put the business of Parliament off to the side just to protect Liberal insiders.
00:08:59.300 Liberal-friendly appointees to this board funneled money to their own companies, that's taxpayers' money.
00:09:05.500 While Canadians are paying higher carbon taxes, higher prices at the grocery store, higher mortgage costs with high interest rates,
00:09:11.500 Liberal insiders stopped and enriched themselves.
00:09:14.500 It's never been so good to be a Liberal insider. It's never been so tough to be a hard-working candidate.
00:09:21.500 All right, we're going to leave it at that because it seems clear from the statement that, no, the MPs are not all going home.
00:09:28.500 The Parliament will still be in session, but apparently the business should be limited to discussing, as Andrew Scheer says, Liberal corruption.
00:09:39.500 That's not what the Speaker said. Obviously, he talked about to resolve this matter about the documents relating to the Sustainable Development Technology Canada group or the Green Slush Fund.
00:09:52.500 So whether that's going to happen today, I just looked at the calendar and we've got new business as another private members build up.
00:09:59.500 So we'll see what happens when the Speaker arrives and the House opens at 10 o'clock this morning.
00:10:08.500 And the question period will be very interesting.
00:10:11.500 But this is how arrogant Justin Trudeau is about this.
00:10:16.500 And like I say, don't for a minute think he's not wondering, how can I exploit this situation for my own political gain?
00:10:24.500 The Honourable Leader of the Opposition, you, Mr. Speaker, have said that this Prime Minister is violating the rules of the House by refusing to hand over SDTC documents on a corporate welfare scandal of $400 million.
00:10:43.500 But the Auditor General says involved 186 conflict of interest where bureaucrats, top officials in this Liberal government were giving millions of dollars to their own companies.
00:10:55.500 Will the Prime Minister hand over the information to the police? And if not, what's he got to hide?
00:11:02.500 The right Honourable Prime Minister.
00:11:07.500 Mr. Speaker, the Conservative Leader just mentioned both the police and the Auditor General.
00:11:12.500 Let me say what they have said.
00:11:14.500 Both the RCMP and the Auditor General have raised concerns about how this motion jeopardizes their independence in serving Canadians.
00:11:25.500 The Conservative Party wants to play politics with Canadians' charter rights.
00:11:32.500 Just stop there, Justin boy.
00:11:35.500 What in the hell does that have to do with Canadians' charter rights?
00:11:40.500 Since when is the Canadian charter right about the RCMP and the Auditor General's independence?
00:11:49.500 This guy plays fast and loose, not just with the truth, but with verbiage and words.
00:11:56.500 That is a completely meaningless statement to make.
00:12:00.500 It's a completely stupid statement to make, but it doesn't even make any kind of sense politically to suggest that this is a violation of charter rights to know the truth about how many millions of dollars, hundreds of millions of dollars were wasted, were corruptly given to friends of the Trudeau government.
00:12:23.500 That's a violation of government?
00:12:24.500 That's a violation of charter rights?
00:12:26.500 This man just doesn't think, he really believes there's enough Canadians out there stupid enough to buy into this statement that this has anything to do with the charter of rights?
00:12:40.500 I think Pauliev's response here is very, very apropos.
00:12:43.500 We will not support that.
00:12:45.500 The Honourable Leader of the Opposition.
00:12:53.500 So his idea of a charter right is that you have the right as a top government executive to take $400 million of other people's money and give it to your own company and then hide the criminal evidence from the police.
00:13:10.500 Well, Mr. Speaker, Canadians have the charter right to know where their money went.
00:13:15.500 So will the Prime Minister accept your order and the vote of this house to turn over the documents to the police so that we can put the bad guys in jail and get back the money that was stolen?
00:13:26.500 Excellent answer.
00:13:35.500 This is about your charter rights, not Justin Trudeau's supposed charter rights.
00:13:42.500 So there's the House agenda for today, Thursday, October 3rd.
00:13:49.500 Now, clearly the House is not suspended and it looks like there's other business on the docket.
00:13:56.500 Now, this is what we need to know what actually transpires today.
00:14:00.500 And we will be following this story throughout the day.
00:14:03.500 And I find this absolutely fascinating that perhaps the people who write the calendar just simply haven't caught up with reality.
00:14:11.500 Things are moving so fast right now, people.
00:14:14.500 I have never seen in the 40, 35 years I've been watching Parliament.
00:14:22.500 I've watched it since I was very young, actually.
00:14:24.500 I've never seen Parliament move this fast.
00:14:27.500 And I've never seen a government try so desperately to stay in power.
00:14:32.500 You can see the Trudeau government is teetering.
00:14:35.500 It's quite obvious that the Trudeau government is teetering on the brink of destruction.
00:14:40.500 There have been so many scandals in the past that they've skirted, they've walked away from.
00:14:46.500 It's like there's these tiger traps in front of them and they just walk around them every time and they just don't fall in.
00:14:55.500 And despite the fact that they deserve to fall in, they are saved every time by the complete apathy of the law and order facilities in this country, namely the RCMP, by the apathy of parliamentary authorities, that they are completely immune.
00:15:18.500 I mean, Trudeau has been Teflon to these scandals, whether they're personal, the blackface scandal, or whether it's been very public scandals about what his government has done, the corrupt way his government has acted.
00:15:31.500 And he's managed to get away from it.
00:15:34.500 It's like it's not just this SDTC scandal.
00:15:38.500 It's not just the the green slush fund that's catching up to Justin Trudeau.
00:15:42.500 It's nine years of heinous corruption, of egregious corruption is catching up to this man, is catching up to this government.
00:15:54.500 This is what we're witnessing right now.
00:15:57.500 This is why the government is teetering on the brink of destruction.
00:16:01.500 And we'll have to keep watching every day to see if the revelation of how bad the green slush fund is and was comes out.
00:16:13.500 I want to I want to get on to another issue before we run out of time here this morning.
00:16:17.500 I know this is something dear to your heart.
00:16:19.500 Thank God for Premier Alberta, Premier Daniel Smith, who has followed through on her promise of parental rights in Alberta.
00:16:34.500 I'm going to play a video in a second and then I'm going to show you the reaction from people who claim to love children.
00:16:40.500 And if you think a 10 year old should be getting a sex change operation on a whim because he or she decides, wakes up one day and says, I really feel like I'm not the same sex today.
00:16:52.500 I won't have a sex change operation.
00:16:54.500 If you think people who support that love children, they don't.
00:16:57.500 They hate children.
00:16:58.500 They love woke ideology.
00:17:00.500 That's what those people are all about.
00:17:02.500 This is common sense politics.
00:17:04.500 This is common sense thinking.
00:17:07.500 The parents have rights over the children, not the state, not the classroom, not the teachers, not the school board, not not even the government.
00:17:15.500 No.
00:17:17.500 Parents and children should not be subject to the whims of woke ideologists who think they are the ones who know best for children.
00:17:28.500 Now, I applaud Daniel Smith for doing this and we're going to show you the video and then we're going to show you the reaction from the usual suspects who hate children.
00:17:43.500 Go over some of the specifics to expect in the legislation.
00:17:47.500 Firstly, licensed Alberta doctors will be prohibited from performing gender assignment surgeries on youth under the age of 18 in Alberta.
00:17:56.500 Puberty blockers and hormone therapies for the purpose of gender reassignment for minors under the age of 16 will also be prohibited unless a minor has already commenced their treatment at this time.
00:18:09.500 For 16 and 17 year olds wishing to proceed with puberty blockers or other hormone therapies for the purpose of gender reassignment, they may do so only if they have parental, psychologist and doctor approval.
00:18:20.500 In our schools, the proposed legislation will now require parental notification and consent for a teacher or staff member to change a child's name or pronoun and publicly use that new name or pronoun in a classroom setting or school assembly.
00:18:33.500 And to be clear, this does not mean reporting or outing a student for their private conversations with friends or teachers regarding their gender identity.
00:18:41.500 For 16 or 17 year olds who choose to alter their name or pronoun used in school, they may do so without parental consent so long as parents are still notified in advance.
00:18:51.500 In those extremely rare circumstances where a teacher feels that a child might be at risk should the parents be notified of a desired name or pronoun change, Alberta Education will provide a protocol to ensure the protection of that child throughout the parental notification process.
00:19:06.500 I am convinced that parents, even those who may disagree with the decision of their child, will still love and care for that child no matter what choices they make.
00:19:14.500 It would be wise for all of us to remember that, rather than questioning the love of parents and their paramount role as the primary caregivers and teachers of their children.
00:19:23.500 In addition, the newly proposed legislation will require parental notification and parental opt-in requirement for each instance a teacher intends to address issues or subject matter involving gender identity, sexual orientation or human sexuality.
00:19:38.500 Furthermore, the provision of resource materials or presentations to students related to these subjects in our K-12 schools must be approved by the Ministry of Education to ensure age appropriateness and relevance to school curriculum.
00:19:53.500 And finally, as it pertains to women and girls in competitive sports, proposed legislation will be tabled that prohibits individuals born biologically male from competing against women and girls in competitive sporting competitions.
00:20:06.500 This will apply to all competitive women's and girls sports in all provincial sporting organizations, as well as in our schools and post-secondary competitive sporting divisions.
00:20:15.500 Thank God. This is common sense thinking. This is common sense policy. This is common sense politics.
00:20:26.500 And anybody who's out there saying, Daniel Smith didn't go far enough, I don't know, maybe she didn't.
00:20:32.500 But she's gone farther than most politicians in this country are prepared to do.
00:20:38.500 And I applaud her for that. I applaud political courage.
00:20:42.500 And she's already taking it on the nose for this from the usual suspects, from the usual idiots who really think they know best for your children.
00:20:55.500 Because what if you decide you want a sex change operation at 10?
00:21:05.500 And a little later in life, you say, you know, that was a horrible mistake I made.
00:21:10.500 Pretty hard to detransition.
00:21:14.500 In this country.
00:21:17.500 Because we really have enshrined this mythological, gender-affirming care as a basis of health care.
00:21:28.500 It's not health care. It's mutilation.
00:21:31.500 There is no such thing as gender-affirming care.
00:21:33.500 It's a euphemism for destruction.
00:21:37.500 And this is the woman for diversification, the minister of diversification.
00:21:48.500 And she's Marcy Yen.
00:21:51.500 Premier Smith is doubling down on her plans to target trans youth.
00:21:56.500 Yeah, there's just millions of these trans youth waiting to have sex change operations at 10.
00:22:00.500 And this is harmful if they don't get a sex change operation.
00:22:03.500 These people are out of their minds.
00:22:06.500 And the idiot journalists who are out there saying, oh, this is harmful to kids.
00:22:12.500 I read one this morning.
00:22:13.500 I'm not even going to mention this idiot's name.
00:22:15.500 But saying that somehow this is going to be, this will put kids in general in harm's way.
00:22:26.500 That this is bad for kids because it's going to put their lives at risk because they can't have sex change operate.
00:22:34.500 That is irresponsible.
00:22:36.500 That is lunatic.
00:22:38.500 That is completely nonsensical.
00:22:41.500 And she says this conversation is only for adults.
00:22:44.500 Yeah, it is.
00:22:45.500 Just look at the conversation about whether or not you should be driving a car at 10 years old.
00:22:50.500 It's a conversation for adults.
00:22:52.500 We don't ask 10-year-olds, do you think you should be driving a car, Johnny?
00:22:55.500 Yeah, I do.
00:22:56.500 Oh, OK, that's fine.
00:22:58.500 We'll change all the laws because the 10 year old says so.
00:23:02.500 How about if Johnny says, I think I should go to a liquor store and buy alcohol at 10?
00:23:06.500 Well, that's the conversation we reserve for adults, too.
00:23:09.500 So is permanently, in some cases, mutilating a child's body.
00:23:14.500 Why?
00:23:15.500 Because the 10 year old thinks they have the knowledge to make that decision.
00:23:21.500 They think they have the life experience to make that decision and they're going to regret that maybe in four months.
00:23:26.500 But I love this.
00:23:29.500 Here's our euthanasia czar.
00:23:31.500 Mark Holland.
00:23:32.500 This is the man who's so adept at expanding our euthanasia law in this country.
00:23:38.500 So it includes more and more Canadians that the liberal government can euthanize.
00:23:43.500 And Mark, of course, is always having the nervous breakdown.
00:23:48.500 What are you doing in here?
00:23:51.500 I'm having a nervous breakdown.
00:23:55.500 Yes, Mark is saying I am concerned by Premier Smith's announcement regarding gender affirming care in Alberta.
00:24:03.500 Healthcare decisions, including gender affirming care, which is a nonsense word, should be made between families and their doctors.
00:24:12.500 It's exactly what she's doing, you idiot.
00:24:15.500 You're the one who wants the government to decide.
00:24:18.500 You're the one who wants the school and the teachers, the school board to decide.
00:24:22.500 You're the one like Justin Trudeau who thinks the state should be raising our children.
00:24:27.500 And.
00:24:29.500 Look at look at the response here.
00:24:32.500 All of the countries in Europe are coming around to the realization that children should not be making decisions about having sex change operations or taking puberty blockers.
00:24:45.500 This is the trend in the world today.
00:24:48.500 This common sense is finally coming back in some quarters to some politicians minds.
00:24:54.500 That's the reality today.
00:24:58.500 Premier Danielle Smith is on the trending line.
00:25:02.500 She is in agreement with what's happening in the world today.
00:25:07.500 Mark Holland and Justin Trudeau and Marcy Yang are not.
00:25:11.500 They are opposing common sense.
00:25:14.500 They are opposing science, as they love to say.
00:25:18.500 They are at odds with not just parents, but the health and the safety of children in Canada.
00:25:27.500 They are endangering the safety of children in Canada.
00:25:32.500 In fact, it's Holland and it's Trudeau and it's in and it's all of these people who want sex change operations for little children who are putting the lives of Canadian children at risk.
00:25:45.500 Those are the facts, people.
00:25:48.500 And that's what we're up against in terms of the feeble opposition to what Daniel Smith is doing in Alberta.
00:25:55.500 So it's a very exciting day.
00:25:57.500 We're going to keep our eyes on whether or not Parliament is limited to debating liberal corruption, as Andrew Scheer told us earlier.
00:26:04.500 And we'll see if there's any more fallout from Daniel Smith's courageous decision to follow through on our promise to respect parental rights and to stop the mutilation of children.
00:26:16.500 I applaud her for this, as I said.
00:26:18.500 Thanks for watching today, folks.
00:26:20.500 It's always a pleasure to be with you.
00:26:23.500 I hope you have a great rest of your day.
00:26:25.500 We might join you again later if there's more news from the House of Commons.
00:26:30.500 And there's always something happening.
00:26:33.500 And I appreciate you being here and have a look at our store.
00:26:37.500 I tell you, I didn't mention it today.
00:26:40.500 Have a look at our free Canadian T-shirt.
00:26:42.500 I am a Canadian, a free Canadian.
00:26:44.500 Buy one while you still can.
00:26:48.500 Have a look at the merchandise.
00:26:50.500 And we will be back tomorrow with all of the news that you need to know, because I want us all to continue to resolve to resist.
00:27:02.500 Bye for now.
