Transcript

00:00:00.960 He continues to be there for himself to try and block the help we're delivering to Canadians
00:00:05.840 to make sure everyone thinks everything is broken because he's busy breaking it.
00:00:09.360 He's been Prime Minister for nine years.
00:00:14.400 And how much longer? Your guess is as good as mine right now.
00:00:19.120 Do I think Justin Trudeau is going to resign?
00:00:23.120 No, I don't. That's why there's a cabinet shuffle today.
00:00:26.400 But we'll be back to discuss that momentarily.
00:00:30.000 So we are in a very precarious position in this country.
00:00:34.320 We need political change, but we also need to resolve to resist.
00:00:48.080 Justin Trudeau is not resigning on Monday. He's not resigning today.
00:00:51.840 He's having a cabinet meeting today to exert his authority.
00:00:55.280 That's what Justin Trudeau does.
00:00:58.560 And he's taking off.
00:01:01.440 He does not have any intention of resigning.
00:01:03.840 If he did, he wouldn't be having a cabinet shuffle today.
00:01:07.680 Now, what do we know about this?
00:01:09.120 It's 1130.
00:01:12.400 Maybe I should have done this live this morning, but these things are awfully dull.
00:01:17.360 I've been there before watching this.
00:01:20.160 We're going to have about 10 people.
00:01:24.160 Probably most of them complete non-entities.
00:01:26.480 Now, we know that David McGinty, the brother of the former liberal Ontario premier, Dalton McGinty, is going to be the public safety minister.
00:01:38.600 With what Trudeau has left, not probably the best choice he could make, but at least this guy does know something about public safety.
00:01:49.800 It's funny.
00:01:50.200 He's been languishing on the back benches for over two decades, two decades, despite being the brother of a former premier.
00:01:57.400 I used to sit on a committee.
00:02:01.880 I think it was the Justice Committee or the Industry Committee.
00:02:06.280 I can't remember which one when I was working for an MP and not really a bad guy.
00:02:12.200 But the thing is, this is all surreal.
00:02:15.480 Do you get the idea like you're watching a movie at times this week that none of this makes any sense?
00:02:20.920 I mean, look at this.
00:02:23.080 Sixteen ministers have bailed on Trudeau.
00:02:26.080 Sixteen.
00:02:27.400 So Trudeau is scraping, I don't want to say the bottom of the barrel, all of them, some of them are just people that Trudeau didn't think were up to his particular standards.
00:02:37.640 But you watch, you're going to get people, yeah, you're going to get people like Mark Gerritsen in the cabinet today.
00:02:45.480 This is the guy who just consistently defames, libels, slanders conservative journalists because he doesn't like them.
00:02:55.880 Such as everybody who criticizes Trudeau is a Russian agent.
00:03:00.680 That's who's getting in cabinet today.
00:03:02.600 Yeah.
00:03:03.640 Jokers like this.
00:03:05.240 There's Marky boy.
00:03:06.120 Or just Jennifer O'Connell, who is also finding Russian agents everywhere and who says, boo, get over the Chinese interference because it helped us.
00:03:19.480 These really are non-entities.
00:03:21.800 These are people who should never be allowed anywhere near cabinet.
00:03:26.120 But this is literally the twilight of the Sun King.
00:03:32.120 That's how I would put this.
00:03:34.200 Twilight of the Sun King.
00:03:36.600 Trudeau is not going to leave voluntarily.
00:03:39.320 Now, it's going to be interesting to see what happens at this cabinet meeting today.
00:03:43.720 But of course, Dominic LeBlanc tells us that Trudeau has the full confidence of his cabinet.
00:03:50.520 Now, of course, Anthony Housefather, this guy has been up and down, back and forth over the past few months with his loyalty to Justin Trudeau.
00:04:04.920 Politics 101.
00:04:06.040 Not one Canadian or MP that wants a change in leadership will change their mind because of a cap and shovel.
00:04:12.200 Very true.
00:04:12.780 Rob Oliphant, another MP, I've asked for an urgent meeting of the Don Valley West Federal Liberal Association executive this evening.
00:04:23.660 Before I take a public stand on our party's leadership question, I need their thoughts, wisdom and advice.
00:04:28.860 What's best for Canada comes first and our party comes first.
00:04:30.860 Yeah, they're all talking about what's best for Canada.
00:04:34.380 Now, this is, of course, if you see the title of our broadcast today, why would I enter a burning building?
00:04:48.040 Some liberals say a chant at Trudeau's cabinet, not worth it.
00:04:52.600 Well, yeah, obviously.
00:04:53.660 This is like whether your metaphor is a sinking ship like the Titanic and a cabinet shuffle is just rearranging the furniture and that's all it is.
00:05:04.380 But the difference is, when the Titanic was sinking, the orchestra played on, but nobody was really rearranging the furniture because the realization that the ship was going under had struck.
00:05:20.620 And the captain understood it.
00:05:23.300 Trudeau is the captain of this ship.
00:05:25.180 He's the lousiest captain Canada's ever had, guiding this ship of state.
00:05:31.440 But let's continue that Titanic metaphor.
00:05:37.780 So the ship is sinking.
00:05:39.980 And what is the captain doing?
00:05:43.400 He's not going down with the ship.
00:05:47.080 He's pretending the ship isn't sinking.
00:05:50.680 And he's trying to find a way off the ship at the same time.
00:05:55.180 So, as I said earlier this week, yeah, he's looking at his vacation schedule right now and thinking,
00:06:01.820 five days till Christmas.
00:06:05.100 How do I get out of here?
00:06:06.800 Let's get the kids.
00:06:08.020 Get out of here.
00:06:09.000 I'm just going to turn my back on all of this.
00:06:11.160 And when I come back after Christmas, it's all going to vanish.
00:06:15.980 It will all have gone away because I said so, because I'm the Sun King.
00:06:23.220 This is a guy who really thinks he not only is emblematic and the embodiment of Canada,
00:06:31.940 he thinks he can make things go away by snapping his fingers.
00:06:37.340 Well, maybe even twitching his nose as a TV witch icon used to do.
00:06:47.660 That's the Justin Trudeau we're dealing with.
00:06:52.200 So there he is.
00:06:55.840 The orchestra played on.
00:06:58.820 He brings in these people in the hope that nobody's going to notice.
00:07:03.440 I found this little thing from the National Post interesting.
00:07:07.340 Hi there.
00:07:08.740 This was the week that Justin Trudeau completed his transformation from being the Brad Pitt of Canadian politics
00:07:15.120 into Mr Bean, some otherworldly character living in some alternate reality.
00:07:22.060 The Prime Minister had a cunning plan to force his Finance Minister, Chrystia Freeland,
00:07:27.280 to deliver a fall economic update that she didn't agree with,
00:07:30.820 then let her take the brickbats for a deficit that was $20 billion higher than had been advertised,
00:07:35.920 and then use it as an excuse to replace her with Mark Carney.
00:07:40.480 In the event, Chrystia Freeland got her retaliation in first,
00:07:44.920 quitting and leaving Trudeau without her,
00:07:48.040 or without Carney, who seems to have decided to stay out of Trudeau's orbit altogether.
00:07:52.340 To unpack this unprecedented and wacky week in Canadian politics,
00:07:57.460 I'm joined by Ian Brodie, who's a former Chief of Staff to Stephen Harper
00:08:01.740 and is currently a Politics Professor at the University of Calgary,
00:08:05.400 and by Eugene Lang, who is an Assistant Professor at the School of Policy Studies at Queen's University
00:08:11.440 and a former Chief of Staff to two Liberal Defence Ministers.
00:08:15.380 Gentlemen, welcome.
00:08:17.420 Good to see you, John.
00:08:18.740 Good to be here.
00:08:19.740 Thanks for coming on again.
00:08:21.720 We did do this kind of prognostication bit this time last year,
00:08:27.260 and nobody predicted this kind of outcome.
00:08:29.620 So let's hope we have better luck.
00:08:31.880 I want to look at what happened in more detail later,
00:08:34.580 but let's start off the top, put you on the spot,
00:08:37.780 and ask you what do you think comes next for Justin Trudeau and for the Liberal Party.
00:08:42.060 Start with you, Ian.
00:08:42.740 John, I think there's a process, I gather, going on inside the Liberal Party,
00:08:48.100 trying to sort out if the party can have a shortened leadership campaign,
00:08:53.580 ideally one that's not contested.
00:08:55.860 It looks like with the configuration of forces,
00:08:59.120 that's going to be impossible to have an uncontested leadership campaign.
00:09:03.780 So I think what they will find is that there will be,
00:09:08.400 if the Prime Minister resigns as leader of the party,
00:09:11.420 a five- or six-month leadership campaign that will take us five months past,
00:09:16.580 or five months into a tariff war with the United States.
00:09:20.360 So actually, I don't think we're going to see any five-month Liberal leadership campaign.
00:09:27.980 That's ludicrous to suggest that.
00:09:30.260 And Ian Brody, as much as he knows about politics,
00:09:35.500 that is an absolutely absurd contention.
00:09:37.820 And I'm not sure if he's actually stating that as his final response,
00:09:42.380 or whether he's just putting that out there as a possibility.
00:09:45.320 But there's no way a country can survive while the Liberals go on for six months.
00:09:52.480 So here's my prediction.
00:09:55.380 Either Justin Trudeau is not going to get down,
00:09:58.480 not going to recuse himself, essentially.
00:10:01.920 That's what he has to do.
00:10:04.420 But Cabinet, I think,
00:10:06.660 is going to force exactly what Ian Brody said is not possible.
00:10:10.780 There's going to be a replacement for Justin Trudeau, appointed.
00:10:16.980 And we won't go through five months of a Liberal campaign,
00:10:20.640 leadership campaign,
00:10:21.540 because nobody, frankly, has the time,
00:10:24.400 and the country doesn't have the time for this.
00:10:28.460 The Liberals have had their fun.
00:10:31.160 It's been almost 10 years of this joker.
00:10:35.180 And things need to move on.
00:10:38.420 I think Justin Trudeau,
00:10:40.340 here's what I think is really going to happen.
00:10:42.560 You can hold me to this.
00:10:45.200 Justin Trudeau will hold on.
00:10:47.220 He will call an election
00:10:48.900 for the early new year.
00:10:53.240 And he's going to have an epiphany over Christmas.
00:10:55.880 Not that he needs to go,
00:10:58.380 but that he can still win.
00:11:00.920 That the fates,
00:11:04.780 providence,
00:11:06.300 whatever God he
00:11:07.320 pretends to worship,
00:11:09.660 besides himself,
00:11:11.260 are all on his side.
00:11:15.020 And he's going to win this thing
00:11:17.160 one more time.
00:11:20.760 So anybody who is out there saying,
00:11:22.520 oh, he's going to resign Monday
00:11:23.800 because I'm hearing it from...
00:11:26.180 No, you're not hearing it from anybody.
00:11:27.800 This is nonsense.
00:11:29.380 Balderdash.
00:11:30.160 Rubbish.
00:11:31.080 You're making it up.
00:11:32.880 Justin Trudeau really believes
00:11:34.720 he can pull this off again.
00:11:36.700 And what the cabinet meeting today
00:11:38.120 is all about,
00:11:39.880 his meeting at his 3 o'clock cabinet meeting,
00:11:42.420 is Trudeau's pitch
00:11:44.300 to the cabinet
00:11:46.520 to say,
00:11:48.180 I can do it again.
00:11:50.360 Put your trust in me.
00:11:52.300 Put your faith in me.
00:11:56.120 It will be interesting to see
00:11:57.440 who's at this cabinet meeting.
00:11:59.580 Will Melanie Jolie be there?
00:12:01.300 Now we know there's been
00:12:02.360 all kinds of stories
00:12:03.560 about the relationship
00:12:07.180 between Jolie and Trudeau.
00:12:10.580 I, for one, don't know
00:12:11.960 if any of these rumors
00:12:14.700 are factual or not.
00:12:16.380 But I can't really see
00:12:20.100 Trudeau dumping Jolie
00:12:21.820 from the cabinet.
00:12:22.740 Even though, of course,
00:12:23.920 she really screwed up
00:12:25.780 with that New York Times article.
00:12:28.480 I wish I had that thing handy.
00:12:30.700 About a week or so ago.
00:12:32.500 Two weeks.
00:12:33.060 Probably a week and a half now.
00:12:34.300 Where she essentially
00:12:35.660 put her leadership desire
00:12:39.600 or her leadership
00:12:41.720 objective
00:12:45.520 out there
00:12:47.500 and said she's ready
00:12:49.620 to replace Justin Trudeau.
00:12:51.500 Christy Freeland, of course,
00:12:52.800 is ready to replace
00:12:54.360 Justin Trudeau,
00:12:55.140 but
00:12:55.280 she's on the outs now.
00:12:59.140 She won't be at
00:12:59.760 the cabinet meeting today.
00:13:02.140 There's very few
00:13:03.300 others available.
00:13:05.080 And Dominic LeBlanc, of course,
00:13:06.480 will not run against
00:13:07.520 Justin Trudeau
00:13:08.140 unless Justin Trudeau
00:13:09.140 is out of the way.
00:13:09.740 He is a Trudeau loyalist.
00:13:13.220 And he is a close friend.
00:13:15.700 He's probably the last friend
00:13:16.740 Trudeau has in politics.
00:13:19.560 It is all up
00:13:21.040 to people like this.
00:13:23.300 There's nobody being muzzled,
00:13:25.000 but there's
00:13:25.860 if there's eight or nine
00:13:27.720 cabinet positions available,
00:13:29.520 there's 30 people
00:13:30.540 that think they're in the running.
00:13:32.800 And the
00:13:33.640 in my view,
00:13:35.600 the cabinet shuffle
00:13:36.340 is being delayed
00:13:37.500 to keep them off the list.
00:13:39.740 of those who
00:13:41.860 are against.
00:13:42.820 Yeah,
00:13:43.180 they're going to be
00:13:44.200 a heck of a lot more
00:13:45.040 interested in speaking out
00:13:46.080 once they find out
00:13:46.880 that they're
00:13:47.360 not going into cabinet.
00:13:50.500 Conclusion, man.
00:13:50.960 An interesting observation
00:13:54.700 here from Sean Casey,
00:13:57.420 Liberal MP.
00:13:59.540 Do you think
00:14:00.640 he's waiting
00:14:05.920 to see who he can
00:14:08.080 he can placate
00:14:09.140 and appease today?
00:14:10.420 And will the backbenchers
00:14:13.940 all say,
00:14:14.620 okay,
00:14:15.140 Trudeau
00:14:15.760 is really there
00:14:17.500 for me?
00:14:18.960 This is such
00:14:20.040 classic politics.
00:14:22.340 But
00:14:22.540 I go back
00:14:23.800 to the
00:14:24.140 point
00:14:25.560 that none of it
00:14:26.820 seems real.
00:14:31.020 Trudeau has been
00:14:31.700 described this week
00:14:32.660 as being at
00:14:33.600 his most incompetent.
00:14:34.980 that what he's doing
00:14:37.500 it's dizzying
00:14:38.880 how incredibly
00:14:40.940 bad
00:14:42.740 he has played
00:14:43.480 this.
00:14:44.500 But you know
00:14:45.160 what?
00:14:45.900 He can still
00:14:47.100 get away
00:14:48.200 with it.
00:14:49.660 Because
00:14:50.260 there is
00:14:53.040 anything
00:14:53.780 Trudeau has
00:14:54.980 in his favor.
00:14:55.940 It's a tremendous
00:14:56.880 faith in himself.
00:14:58.980 A tremendous
00:14:59.900 amount of
00:15:00.720 will.
00:15:01.160 Now this
00:15:02.320 might be
00:15:02.720 induced by
00:15:03.660 the various
00:15:04.860 habits I think
00:15:05.740 he's inculcated
00:15:06.600 and that he
00:15:08.680 practices in his
00:15:09.460 daily life.
00:15:10.980 This might be
00:15:11.900 induced by
00:15:12.780 psychological
00:15:16.240 factors that
00:15:17.400 as a layman
00:15:18.560 I can't really
00:15:19.740 label but I
00:15:20.620 can suspect.
00:15:22.280 This might be
00:15:22.820 induced by just
00:15:23.640 the raw ego
00:15:24.620 and narcissism
00:15:25.600 of a politician
00:15:26.620 who is
00:15:28.140 completely
00:15:30.060 unbridled.
00:15:31.160 in his
00:15:31.780 lust for
00:15:32.260 power.
00:15:33.540 Let's listen
00:15:34.020 to what
00:15:34.240 Rand Paul
00:15:35.160 probably my
00:15:36.460 favorite senator
00:15:37.300 in the United
00:15:37.860 States.
00:15:38.420 I always
00:15:39.180 like John
00:15:39.620 Kennedy from
00:15:40.220 Louisiana too.
00:15:42.100 But Rand
00:15:43.180 Paul
00:15:43.560 from Kentucky
00:15:46.240 is the son
00:15:47.800 of
00:15:48.240 Ron Paul
00:15:49.840 the libertarian
00:15:51.880 who ran
00:15:52.660 twice for the
00:15:53.960 Republican
00:15:54.400 presidential
00:15:55.400 nomination
00:15:55.960 and has
00:15:57.220 always been
00:15:57.900 on the right
00:15:59.000 side of issues.
00:15:59.840 even when I
00:16:00.900 was on the
00:16:01.360 wrong side
00:16:02.100 of a lot
00:16:02.460 of issues
00:16:02.860 over the
00:16:03.280 years.
00:16:04.220 Ron Paul
00:16:04.660 was on the
00:16:05.000 right side.
00:16:05.740 His son
00:16:06.060 Rand Paul
00:16:06.600 is about
00:16:06.800 the only
00:16:07.260 one fighting
00:16:08.080 for principle
00:16:09.620 100% of the
00:16:11.040 time in
00:16:12.020 Washington.
00:16:12.720 And here's
00:16:13.260 how he
00:16:13.700 talks about
00:16:14.340 Justin Trudeau
00:16:15.260 because he's
00:16:16.740 watching Canadian
00:16:17.560 politics right
00:16:18.300 now and I
00:16:18.660 find this
00:16:19.020 absolutely
00:16:19.560 fascinating
00:16:20.060 what he
00:16:20.300 says.
00:16:20.500 No one
00:16:21.140 doubts that
00:16:21.720 emergency
00:16:22.200 powers can
00:16:22.960 be abused
00:16:23.640 just look
00:16:24.300 to Canada.
00:16:25.680 As Gene
00:16:26.120 Healy of
00:16:26.600 Cato
00:16:26.900 Institute
00:16:27.380 wrote
00:16:27.940 America's
00:16:28.920 neighbor to
00:16:29.360 the north
00:16:29.740 offers a
00:16:30.300 cautionary
00:16:30.900 tale about
00:16:31.900 the risks
00:16:32.540 that broad
00:16:33.100 emergency
00:16:33.560 powers could
00:16:34.640 be turned
00:16:35.060 inward
00:16:35.540 against
00:16:36.220 political
00:16:36.640 dissent.
00:16:38.040 In early
00:16:38.460 2022 Canadian
00:16:39.700 Prime Minister
00:16:40.400 Justin Trudeau
00:16:41.340 faced a
00:16:42.200 mass protest
00:16:43.020 against
00:16:43.580 COVID-19
00:16:44.660 restrictions
00:16:45.240 in which
00:16:46.620 Canadian
00:16:47.000 truckers
00:16:47.540 obstructed
00:16:48.160 key border
00:16:48.680 crossings
00:16:49.300 and effectively
00:16:50.240 shut down
00:16:50.760 the capital
00:16:51.180 city with
00:16:51.740 their rigs.
00:16:53.240 Instead of
00:16:53.760 simply clearing
00:16:54.460 out protesters
00:16:55.240 and punishing
00:16:55.820 them via
00:16:56.360 conventional
00:16:57.280 legal means
00:16:58.220 Trudeau
00:16:59.040 invoked
00:16:59.400 emergency
00:16:59.960 powers
00:17:00.620 broad enough
00:17:01.520 to permit
00:17:02.100 the financial
00:17:03.380 unpersoning
00:17:04.640 of anyone
00:17:05.920 participating
00:17:06.540 in the
00:17:06.780 protest.
00:17:07.340 He went
00:17:07.640 to their
00:17:07.920 bank accounts
00:17:08.640 and took
00:17:09.020 their money.
00:17:10.200 When people
00:17:10.800 raised money
00:17:11.780 voluntarily
00:17:12.480 through crowd
00:17:13.380 financing to
00:17:14.060 help these
00:17:14.460 truckers
00:17:14.840 he stole
00:17:15.820 that money
00:17:16.380 as well
00:17:16.860 through
00:17:17.100 martial
00:17:17.520 rule.
00:17:18.260 Without
00:17:18.580 any rule
00:17:19.260 of law
00:17:19.620 he took
00:17:20.100 the money.
00:17:22.460 No
00:17:22.720 transaction
00:17:23.320 with the
00:17:23.660 protesters.
00:17:24.320 He took
00:17:24.620 their money.
00:17:25.520 People
00:17:25.700 were locked
00:17:26.240 up under
00:17:27.300 martial
00:17:27.680 law.
00:17:29.000 Canada's
00:17:29.440 1988
00:17:30.040 Emergencies
00:17:31.440 Act gave
00:17:32.300 the Trudeau
00:17:32.920 government
00:17:33.500 staggering
00:17:34.480 powers to
00:17:35.420 subject
00:17:35.840 individual
00:17:36.360 protesters
00:17:36.980 to
00:17:37.560 debanking
00:17:38.320 without
00:17:39.040 due
00:17:39.280 process.
00:17:40.600 This is
00:17:41.240 the danger
00:17:41.960 of
00:17:42.740 presidential
00:17:43.240 power,
00:17:43.820 excessive
00:17:44.640 presidential
00:17:45.240 power.
00:17:46.120 It isn't
00:17:46.440 about any
00:17:46.960 individual
00:17:47.460 president.
00:17:48.240 It's
00:17:48.520 about all
00:17:49.160 presidents
00:17:49.580 of either
00:17:50.180 party because
00:17:51.280 men and
00:17:53.260 women will
00:17:54.300 succumb to
00:17:55.640 the desire
00:17:56.280 for power.
00:17:57.560 It's inherent
00:17:58.040 in all.
00:17:59.160 That's why we
00:17:59.740 must have
00:18:00.140 checks and
00:18:00.600 balances.
00:18:02.040 Deputy Prime
00:18:02.700 Minister and
00:18:03.240 Finance Minister
00:18:04.180 Christia Freeland
00:18:05.660 put it this
00:18:06.860 way.
00:18:07.480 And this is
00:18:08.320 interesting because
00:18:09.300 he even
00:18:11.560 talks about
00:18:12.360 Christia Freeland
00:18:13.200 and describing
00:18:15.100 Trudeau's
00:18:15.800 martial law.
00:18:19.020 As of
00:18:19.860 February 2022
00:18:20.920 and a warning
00:18:21.560 to the
00:18:21.880 truckers,
00:18:22.440 as of today,
00:18:23.380 a bank or
00:18:24.140 a financial
00:18:24.640 service provider
00:18:25.500 will be able
00:18:26.120 to immediately
00:18:26.780 freeze or
00:18:27.900 suspend an
00:18:28.500 account without
00:18:29.200 a court
00:18:29.600 order.
00:18:30.320 The government
00:18:31.220 of Canada,
00:18:32.540 essentially Trudeau,
00:18:33.840 could freeze a
00:18:34.600 bank account
00:18:35.220 without a
00:18:36.260 court order,
00:18:36.840 without due
00:18:37.340 process of law.
00:18:38.600 We are today
00:18:39.060 serving notice.
00:18:40.400 If your truck
00:18:40.900 is being used
00:18:41.600 in these protests,
00:18:42.700 your corporate
00:18:43.260 accounts will
00:18:44.340 be frozen.
00:18:45.460 The insurance
00:18:46.000 on your vehicle
00:18:46.760 will be suspended.
00:18:48.920 Send your
00:18:49.320 trailers home.
00:18:51.480 And while
00:18:51.740 Native-born
00:18:52.240 Americans may
00:18:52.960 think that
00:18:53.380 emergency powers
00:18:54.420 are to be used
00:18:55.500 to target others,
00:18:56.960 I would venture
00:18:57.520 to guess that
00:18:58.040 the Canadian
00:18:58.520 truckers protesting
00:19:00.260 COVID-era
00:19:01.080 mandates didn't
00:19:02.400 expect that their
00:19:03.060 government would
00:19:03.700 treat them as
00:19:04.820 foreign adversaries
00:19:05.860 and freeze their
00:19:06.760 accounts.
00:19:07.840 If it can happen
00:19:08.720 in Canada,
00:19:09.580 it can happen
00:19:10.420 in the U.S.
00:19:12.580 Expansive
00:19:13.180 emergency powers
00:19:14.080 do not end
00:19:14.900 there.
00:19:15.520 Today in the
00:19:15.980 United States,
00:19:16.600 a country that
00:19:17.740 owes its very
00:19:18.460 existence to
00:19:19.300 tax revolt,
00:19:20.480 the president
00:19:21.060 can unilaterally
00:19:22.340 impose and
00:19:23.380 raise taxes
00:19:24.120 on foreign
00:19:25.020 imports.
00:19:26.440 Now, this is
00:19:27.480 interesting because
00:19:28.540 right now in
00:19:31.740 the United States
00:19:32.620 Congress,
00:19:33.060 there was an
00:19:35.520 attempt to
00:19:36.460 reduce a
00:19:37.760 spending bill
00:19:38.440 that would
00:19:38.800 have raised
00:19:39.240 the salaries
00:19:39.840 of representatives
00:19:40.960 by $70,000.
00:19:42.680 That was
00:19:43.500 defeated yesterday
00:19:44.460 because 35
00:19:45.620 Republicans,
00:19:48.220 35 rhino
00:19:49.280 Republicans,
00:19:50.460 decided not to
00:19:52.360 back that
00:19:52.920 compromise or
00:19:54.500 the alternate
00:19:55.940 bill, which
00:19:57.600 eliminated all
00:19:59.540 of this
00:20:00.200 lard.
00:20:06.760 That's the
00:20:06.960 only way to
00:20:07.260 describe it.
00:20:08.040 $70,000.
00:20:09.120 Billions of
00:20:09.780 dollars for
00:20:10.340 this funding.
00:20:15.480 I went
00:20:16.360 through this
00:20:16.800 whole bill
00:20:17.300 with you
00:20:17.620 yesterday.
00:20:19.160 This was all
00:20:19.840 just to get
00:20:20.440 everybody home
00:20:21.140 for Christmas,
00:20:21.820 just like the
00:20:22.440 economic
00:20:23.340 statement.
00:20:23.840 the fall
00:20:25.900 economic
00:20:26.520 statement was
00:20:28.680 the same
00:20:29.240 ruse.
00:20:30.860 Spend some
00:20:31.560 more money,
00:20:32.780 let's get
00:20:33.200 everybody home.
00:20:35.620 So Rand Paul
00:20:36.260 is saying,
00:20:37.020 and of course,
00:20:38.480 in the United
00:20:39.140 States,
00:20:41.180 the Department
00:20:41.640 of Homeland
00:20:42.020 Security is
00:20:42.820 asking for
00:20:43.420 more authority
00:20:44.440 so they can
00:20:46.000 investigate what
00:20:47.400 these drones
00:20:47.940 are all about.
00:20:49.500 Like the
00:20:49.980 Department of
00:20:50.580 Homeland Security
00:20:51.160 doesn't have
00:20:51.700 enough authority
00:20:52.220 to do that
00:20:52.700 already.
00:20:53.020 They've
00:20:54.160 already
00:20:54.520 arrested,
00:20:56.240 put in
00:20:56.600 jail,
00:20:57.380 so many
00:20:58.680 Americans for
00:20:59.400 saying the
00:20:59.780 wrong thing.
00:21:00.960 They're very
00:21:01.660 effective at
00:21:02.460 war against
00:21:03.500 their own
00:21:04.580 citizens.
00:21:05.440 They seem to
00:21:06.200 be very
00:21:06.540 ineffective at
00:21:07.460 actually preventing
00:21:08.380 any real harm
00:21:10.240 to the
00:21:10.720 American
00:21:11.220 homeland.
00:21:12.760 So once
00:21:13.580 again,
00:21:14.000 where are we
00:21:14.680 here?
00:21:15.460 Now,
00:21:15.720 the 1130,
00:21:16.580 we're an
00:21:17.140 hour and a
00:21:17.460 half away
00:21:17.960 from the
00:21:19.700 Cabinet
00:21:20.020 shuffle.
00:21:20.860 We're going
00:21:21.520 to be seeing
00:21:22.040 a lot of
00:21:22.500 people who
00:21:22.920 have never
00:21:23.280 heard of
00:21:23.820 unless he
00:21:25.820 or she
00:21:26.120 happens to
00:21:26.660 be your
00:21:27.000 MP entering
00:21:29.320 the Cabinet.
00:21:31.480 This is a
00:21:32.400 last-ditch
00:21:33.440 attempt by
00:21:35.120 Justin Trudeau
00:21:35.760 to put a
00:21:36.260 face of
00:21:38.260 respectability
00:21:39.060 on a
00:21:40.160 government that
00:21:40.820 is torn to
00:21:41.700 shreds,
00:21:42.820 on a
00:21:43.040 government that
00:21:43.560 is like the
00:21:44.820 Titanic,
00:21:45.600 going beneath
00:21:46.520 the waves of
00:21:48.140 the North
00:21:48.500 Atlantic.
00:21:48.940 that is
00:21:50.780 precisely what's
00:21:51.740 going on
00:21:52.160 here.
00:21:52.500 I saw a
00:21:53.060 comment earlier
00:21:55.340 and I'm going
00:21:56.480 to get to
00:21:56.820 some of your
00:21:57.160 comments here.
00:21:58.480 I know we
00:21:58.780 haven't had a
00:21:59.300 lot of
00:21:59.600 comments.
00:22:01.900 But I love
00:22:02.640 this one at
00:22:03.140 the beginning
00:22:03.600 here.
00:22:08.640 More comments
00:22:09.420 than I
00:22:09.660 thought.
00:22:09.920 bring it
00:22:13.740 back here.
00:22:20.920 And of
00:22:21.640 course,
00:22:21.860 one of our
00:22:22.420 old
00:22:22.900 standbys
00:22:23.420 here,
00:22:23.700 it's the
00:22:24.060 April 1945
00:22:28.780 scenario when
00:22:29.700 Adolf Hitler
00:22:30.200 was in his
00:22:31.000 bunker in
00:22:31.520 Berlin.
00:22:31.780 Oops,
00:22:32.360 hope I can
00:22:32.740 say Adolf
00:22:33.220 Hitler.
00:22:33.460 and he
00:22:34.580 was sure
00:22:35.180 that he
00:22:35.660 could win
00:22:36.340 the war
00:22:36.980 with imaginary
00:22:37.840 numbers.
00:22:39.940 Yeah,
00:22:40.600 have to
00:22:41.680 agree with
00:22:42.240 that,
00:22:42.660 Sylvain.
00:22:43.140 That is
00:22:43.760 exactly what's
00:22:44.520 going on.
00:22:45.160 When Hitler
00:22:45.480 had visions
00:22:47.340 of phantom
00:22:48.140 tank divisions,
00:22:51.960 phantom
00:22:52.240 Luftwaffe
00:22:52.900 squadrons
00:22:53.700 that didn't
00:22:54.120 exist anymore,
00:22:57.500 U-boats
00:22:58.420 that were
00:22:58.740 long gone,
00:23:00.400 and Justin
00:23:01.060 Trudeau is in
00:23:01.760 the same
00:23:02.120 delusion right
00:23:03.020 now.
00:23:03.280 He really
00:23:03.740 believes he
00:23:04.620 can pull
00:23:04.940 this off.
00:23:05.660 And the
00:23:05.960 thing is,
00:23:06.420 he might be
00:23:06.840 able to
00:23:07.080 convince his
00:23:07.560 cabinet of
00:23:08.020 that today.
00:23:09.460 And if
00:23:10.440 he does,
00:23:11.960 he'll be
00:23:12.600 off on
00:23:12.860 vacation.
00:23:14.420 And no,
00:23:14.980 he will not
00:23:15.500 be thinking
00:23:16.040 about
00:23:17.640 that Trudeau
00:23:19.440 is off to
00:23:19.920 Argentina.
00:23:20.520 Yeah,
00:23:20.680 I love that,
00:23:21.160 Donnie.
00:23:21.860 That is
00:23:22.620 exactly what
00:23:23.380 probably Jamaica
00:23:25.020 more than
00:23:25.540 Argentina.
00:23:26.620 And he
00:23:27.120 will be
00:23:27.520 coming back.
00:23:29.300 But this
00:23:29.720 is what
00:23:31.220 we're up
00:23:31.620 against with
00:23:32.120 Justin
00:23:32.400 Trudeau.
00:23:33.280 complete
00:23:33.640 delusion.
00:23:34.960 By the
00:23:35.340 way,
00:23:35.660 I want
00:23:35.900 to mention
00:23:37.220 this as
00:23:37.620 well at
00:23:37.920 the very
00:23:38.220 end.
00:23:38.460 If you're
00:23:40.340 probably aware
00:23:40.960 of this,
00:23:41.320 some
00:23:41.480 YouTubers
00:23:42.360 are having
00:23:44.220 difficulty with
00:23:45.460 CBC
00:23:45.960 claiming,
00:23:46.720 and I
00:23:48.500 couldn't believe
00:23:48.960 this when I
00:23:49.340 first heard it,
00:23:49.840 claiming copyright
00:23:51.320 of anything on
00:23:53.540 Parle View
00:23:54.220 or CPAC,
00:23:57.160 neither of which
00:23:57.840 CBC owns.
00:23:58.900 Parle View
00:24:01.740 is run by
00:24:02.560 the Parliament
00:24:03.020 of Canada,
00:24:03.460 not CBC.
00:24:05.200 CPAC is its
00:24:06.080 own independent
00:24:06.780 news agency.
00:24:08.020 It has nothing
00:24:08.880 to do with
00:24:09.720 CBC.
00:24:11.640 I know that
00:24:12.240 because I
00:24:12.840 worked on the
00:24:13.880 Hill for years.
00:24:14.580 I know these
00:24:14.940 organizations.
00:24:15.480 but for CBC
00:24:19.340 to even
00:24:20.300 suggest it
00:24:21.320 has copyright
00:24:22.220 on anything
00:24:24.960 when it's
00:24:26.160 100%
00:24:26.900 subsidized by the
00:24:27.760 Canadian
00:24:28.020 taxpayer and
00:24:29.060 it suggests
00:24:29.460 people have no
00:24:30.200 right to use
00:24:30.940 their material,
00:24:31.760 even in short
00:24:32.560 snippets?
00:24:33.160 That is an
00:24:35.620 outrage.
00:24:37.200 Now, I
00:24:37.400 worked at the
00:24:37.760 Western Standard
00:24:38.360 for years and
00:24:38.940 Western Standard
00:24:39.840 used to use
00:24:40.460 CBC pictures
00:24:41.500 based on the
00:24:42.100 fact that it's
00:24:42.740 a subsidized,
00:24:44.700 well, wholly
00:24:45.240 subsidized
00:24:46.100 operation
00:24:47.800 and the
00:24:49.700 Canadian
00:24:50.040 taxpayers are
00:24:50.920 paying or
00:24:51.380 footing the
00:24:51.780 bill for
00:24:52.420 everything they
00:24:52.820 do, so
00:24:53.440 Canadian
00:24:53.840 taxpayers should
00:24:54.560 have the
00:24:54.800 right to
00:24:55.060 access their
00:24:55.620 material.
00:24:56.400 That was
00:24:56.680 the argument.
00:24:58.780 Now, CBC
00:24:59.340 should damn
00:25:01.080 well get off
00:25:01.680 a tie horse
00:25:02.280 and stop
00:25:03.160 pretending it
00:25:05.660 has somehow
00:25:06.220 rights to
00:25:07.600 everything coming
00:25:09.100 from the
00:25:09.480 House of
00:25:09.800 Commons in
00:25:10.300 Parliament now.
00:25:13.600 And that's
00:25:14.420 another reason
00:25:15.180 why we have
00:25:15.880 to defund
00:25:16.460 the CBC
00:25:17.000 when Pierre
00:25:18.020 Paulia
00:25:18.480 becomes
00:25:19.000 Prime Minister.
00:25:20.580 As far as
00:25:20.960 I'm concerned,
00:25:21.480 he should
00:25:21.700 defund
00:25:22.040 Radio Canada
00:25:22.680 too.
00:25:23.140 That's a
00:25:23.420 cop-out to
00:25:24.520 say, oh,
00:25:25.020 we're going
00:25:25.440 to keep
00:25:25.660 the French
00:25:26.020 language,
00:25:27.360 CBC,
00:25:28.240 alive and
00:25:29.480 kicking,
00:25:31.200 surviving on
00:25:32.120 taxpayer funds.
00:25:34.560 Get rid
00:25:34.900 of it all,
00:25:35.600 privatize it
00:25:36.340 all,
00:25:36.700 defund it
00:25:37.180 all.
00:25:38.460 That is
00:25:38.960 the common
00:25:39.300 sense.
00:25:39.880 That's a
00:25:40.380 common sense
00:25:41.120 solution,
00:25:42.000 Mr.
00:25:42.220 Paulia.
00:25:43.480 However,
00:25:44.460 we need
00:25:45.600 drastic change
00:25:47.600 in this
00:25:47.840 country.
00:25:48.520 And it's
00:25:48.740 quite clear
00:25:49.240 as we are
00:25:50.220 five days
00:25:50.640 away from
00:25:50.980 Christmas,
00:25:51.380 we're in
00:25:51.680 a drama
00:25:52.220 like we've
00:25:52.720 never seen
00:25:53.400 the likes
00:25:54.560 of on
00:25:55.040 Parliament
00:25:55.360 Hill.
00:25:57.140 Keep
00:25:57.660 watching,
00:25:58.180 because believe
00:25:58.800 me,
00:25:59.060 what I
00:25:59.960 said today
00:26:00.600 might be
00:26:01.980 100%
00:26:02.460 correct,
00:26:03.640 but I
00:26:03.920 might be
00:26:04.160 completely
00:26:04.520 wrong because
00:26:05.160 of events
00:26:05.680 that are
00:26:05.980 beyond not
00:26:07.220 only our
00:26:07.780 control,
00:26:08.580 but Justin
00:26:09.100 Trudeau's
00:26:09.480 control.
00:26:09.980 And remember
00:26:10.620 this,
00:26:11.300 this is a
00:26:12.020 man who
00:26:13.200 really thinks
00:26:13.940 he's above
00:26:14.620 politics,
00:26:16.880 he says that
00:26:17.360 all the time,
00:26:17.900 even though his
00:26:18.420 whole life is
00:26:19.080 political,
00:26:20.060 every statement
00:26:20.720 coming out of
00:26:21.300 his mouth is
00:26:21.900 political,
00:26:22.460 but he's a
00:26:23.120 man who
00:26:23.500 thinks he's
00:26:23.880 above morality.
00:26:25.500 He defines
00:26:26.260 his own
00:26:26.900 morality.
00:26:27.940 That is a
00:26:28.620 dangerous
00:26:29.480 place to
00:26:31.400 be for
00:26:32.880 any politician
00:26:33.840 because it
00:26:35.420 means they're
00:26:36.100 capable of
00:26:36.800 doing,
00:26:37.220 doing literally
00:26:40.380 anything.
00:26:43.540 We need to
00:26:44.600 be worried
00:26:45.180 about what
00:26:45.780 Justin Trudeau
00:26:46.500 does in the
00:26:47.100 next few
00:26:47.520 days.
00:26:49.500 You might
00:26:50.320 recall,
00:26:51.120 I said we
00:26:52.460 might not
00:26:52.860 have a
00:26:53.220 2025 election
00:26:54.280 because Justin
00:26:55.720 Trudeau could
00:26:56.180 find an
00:26:56.600 emergency.
00:26:58.340 Justin Trudeau
00:26:59.240 could rule by
00:26:59.840 emergency decree.
00:27:00.880 He invoked
00:27:01.280 the Emergencies
00:27:01.920 Act.
00:27:02.180 You heard what
00:27:02.600 Rand Paul said
00:27:03.320 about that.
00:27:04.340 He invoked
00:27:05.160 the Emergencies
00:27:05.720 Act when he
00:27:06.340 could have
00:27:06.640 dealt with
00:27:07.040 things in a
00:27:08.060 much more
00:27:08.620 civil and
00:27:10.700 understated
00:27:11.340 way, even
00:27:12.900 though it
00:27:13.800 was a peaceful
00:27:14.460 protest in
00:27:15.500 Ottawa.
00:27:16.060 I was there.
00:27:16.980 I'm not going
00:27:17.700 to berate that
00:27:18.660 or I'm not
00:27:19.740 going to
00:27:20.840 bother to
00:27:22.780 argue that
00:27:23.200 point.
00:27:23.580 It was a
00:27:23.900 peaceful
00:27:24.120 protest.
00:27:24.720 Nobody
00:27:25.620 should have
00:27:25.900 been charged.
00:27:27.700 But none
00:27:28.560 of what
00:27:29.040 happened in
00:27:29.560 Ottawa or
00:27:30.080 even at
00:27:30.500 the border
00:27:30.920 because it
00:27:31.400 was the
00:27:31.820 time Trudeau
00:27:33.180 invoked the
00:27:33.660 Emergencies
00:27:34.140 Act, the
00:27:35.200 crisis at
00:27:36.400 the border
00:27:36.820 was over.
00:27:38.840 The blockade
00:27:39.520 had ended.
00:27:41.420 The entire
00:27:41.920 Emergencies
00:27:42.520 Act was
00:27:42.980 aimed at
00:27:43.820 the protest
00:27:45.080 in Ottawa
00:27:45.820 at people
00:27:46.620 like Tamara
00:27:48.460 Leach and
00:27:49.620 Chris Barber
00:27:50.240 and Pat
00:27:52.580 King and
00:27:53.220 others who
00:27:54.480 have been
00:27:54.860 raked over
00:27:55.960 with law
00:27:57.780 fair ever
00:27:58.200 since.
00:27:59.540 That's what
00:28:00.040 that was all
00:28:00.500 about.
00:28:00.780 Now if
00:28:00.980 Justin Trudeau
00:28:01.420 was capable
00:28:02.460 of doing
00:28:03.020 that, what
00:28:05.800 do you think
00:28:06.100 he's going to
00:28:06.440 be thinking
00:28:06.800 of in the
00:28:07.160 next three?
00:28:07.860 I want to
00:28:08.260 put this out
00:28:08.800 there for
00:28:09.160 all of you.
00:28:09.740 I want you
00:28:10.040 to think
00:28:10.440 about this.
00:28:12.580 Do you
00:28:13.160 think he's
00:28:13.600 just going
00:28:14.020 to give up
00:28:14.460 and resign?
00:28:15.040 or do you
00:28:17.940 think he's
00:28:18.300 going to
00:28:18.560 find a
00:28:19.160 way, a
00:28:21.940 rationale to
00:28:23.240 cling to
00:28:23.560 power?
00:28:24.240 Maybe he'll
00:28:24.740 find a
00:28:25.140 crisis.
00:28:25.880 Maybe we're
00:28:26.380 going to
00:28:26.620 have a
00:28:27.060 swine flu
00:28:27.740 epidemic or
00:28:28.400 we're going
00:28:28.580 to have
00:28:28.760 bird flu
00:28:29.360 epidemic or
00:28:30.600 we're going
00:28:30.900 to have
00:28:31.300 he's already
00:28:33.080 prepared for
00:28:33.820 this.
00:28:35.240 He's already
00:28:36.160 put the
00:28:37.840 mechanisms in
00:28:38.580 place for
00:28:39.100 another pandemic,
00:28:40.340 for another
00:28:41.260 way to seize
00:28:42.300 control of
00:28:42.900 things.
00:28:43.780 What do you
00:28:44.080 think the
00:28:45.460 odds are
00:28:46.440 or the
00:28:46.900 possibility
00:28:47.400 is for
00:28:49.160 another
00:28:49.420 lockdown
00:28:49.980 occurring where
00:28:50.900 Justin Trudeau
00:28:51.560 just has to
00:28:52.220 be there to
00:28:52.920 protect
00:28:53.300 Canadians?
00:28:55.260 Not saying
00:28:56.160 it's going
00:28:56.480 to happen,
00:28:57.020 but I'm
00:28:57.280 saying it's
00:28:57.680 not beyond
00:28:58.700 the possible
00:29:00.120 when you're
00:29:00.680 dealing with
00:29:01.500 a Sun
00:29:01.900 King like
00:29:02.780 Justin Trudeau,
00:29:03.620 when you're
00:29:04.040 dealing with
00:29:04.600 a man who
00:29:05.240 is that
00:29:05.800 obsessed with
00:29:07.080 himself and
00:29:08.480 that dedicated
00:29:09.540 to the
00:29:11.140 pursuit of
00:29:11.820 power.
00:29:12.660 It's
00:29:13.260 entirely
00:29:13.840 possible.
00:29:15.320 So let's
00:29:16.060 watch very
00:29:16.540 closely throughout
00:29:17.380 the next few
00:29:17.780 days.
00:29:18.000 I'll be back
00:29:18.440 tomorrow to
