00:00:00.000 welcome back to another stand on guard i'm your host david creighton
00:00:04.800 and when we come back i want to discuss a little bit more about universal basic income
00:00:13.520 and what is now being called
00:00:18.200 so we are in a very precarious position in this country we need political change but we also
00:00:28.160 need to resolve to resist
00:00:30.000 yes please ring that bell like this station i had a complaint yesterday in the comment section
00:00:49.840 somebody saying stop asking for money i'm not asking for money and i'm never or rarely ever
00:00:57.100 ask for money but i have to say at the beginning of the broadcast like the broadcast so we can beat
00:01:03.460 the youtube algorithm and please ring the bell because that way we beat justin trudeau's censorship
00:01:17.040 and that's what this is all about that's what this is all about about beating the censorship
00:01:25.660 so you know when the next broadcast is coming up and you're able to tune in i had one person tell me
00:01:32.320 they had to subscribe four times four times a lot of people notice the fact that we hit our fifteen
00:01:42.220 thousand dollar of fifteen thousand membership ceiling by december 31st and suddenly by january 31st
00:01:52.320 we lost about 60 members overnight so something is going on yes obviously so as we
00:01:58.780 climb towards twenty thousand that's our next objective if you need to subscribe again please do so
00:02:07.840 and believe me i don't like to waste any time talking about this but it's necessary because as new media
00:02:17.280 as independent media this is part of the action plan we need to work together on this and yes once in a
00:02:27.060 while i'll say if you want to support me the details are there and and i'll leave that to you because i'm not
00:02:37.180 one of these people who wants to spend five or ten minutes begging for money i grew up in an era
00:02:43.020 where televangelists did that and it used to bother me because i thought it was an affront to my faith
00:02:48.360 so i'm not going to be doing that i never have i never will once in a while i'll mention it
00:02:54.380 but primarily at the beginning i say yes like the broadcast so we can beat the algorithm
00:02:59.400 we need to get the viewership up and that's how we win the case that's how we do this so
00:03:06.880 thank you for listening again universal basic income i brought it up a little while ago
00:03:15.940 guess what they're calling it now and here they are there's two bills as i explained about a week ago
00:03:24.940 there are two bills one is in the senate and one is in the house
00:03:30.940 you know there's s 233 and c 223 but guess what they're calling it it's not universal it's
00:03:43.640 unconditional basic income unconditional in other words hands up look we've got a gun to your head
00:03:53.000 and this is how it's going to work now i showed you this news release here from the senate of canada
00:03:58.920 once again this happened on october 17th that's what three almost three months ago now
00:04:06.980 nobody talked about this until the christmas break suddenly it became the news of the hour
00:04:16.240 on social media on new media and even some legacy media now i've got a piece coming out in human events
00:04:26.380 this week discussing this i'm also going to be discussing this on redacted because
00:04:33.560 it has taken on a life of its own this whole issue and i and i find it quite interesting i have here
00:04:41.040 you know the written submission for the pre-budget consultations in advance of the upcoming federal
00:04:47.520 budget and once again if we get back to this slide here
00:04:50.780 this is all being pushed forward by a so-called non-profit called ubi works
00:05:00.540 i have not been able to substantiate whether or not they are getting any government money you go to
00:05:09.360 their website
00:05:10.080 and all they tell you
00:05:13.540 all they tell you is that hey
00:05:18.260 we're getting grassroots money i can't even look at their website because i've been blocked they blocked
00:05:26.860 me now why do you think they blocked me they blocked me because of the broadcast a week ago
00:05:33.120 where i not only criticized the program as being completely unfeasible and completely unworkable
00:05:40.880 and catastrophic for the economy but i even questioned how the senator introducing this bill
00:05:50.500 didn't even seem to know which province she was representing
00:05:54.620 she she kept talking about some mythical indigenous land that you can't find on a map
00:06:01.140 and it isn't even real she couldn't say she was from the province of ontario i can't deal with
00:06:08.020 people i am sick to death of politicians and bureaucrats who think it's so cute and so smart
00:06:14.640 and so trendy to say that they're standing on this indigenous plot of land that was unsurrendered
00:06:22.700 and it's not part of canada and it's not part of a canadian province it's all bs i'm sick of this
00:06:29.840 i'm sure you are too but i really took up i i really was angry to see the senator who has the
00:06:38.080 goal to suggest that universal basic income is now unconditional and it's a human right and it better
00:06:48.720 happen or else and she can't even name the province she represents as a senator that's bloody
00:06:55.120 ridiculous and i'm sure we'd agree so anyway this ubi works blocked me from their website because
00:07:04.480 they were so damn mad about my broadcast oh what the hell
00:07:09.080 anyway i'm looking at their recommendations their written submissions the recommendation number one
00:07:18.280 that the government implement a universal basic income which includes a guaranteed minimum income
00:07:24.120 of two thousand dollars a month there it is that's not i didn't extract that figure
00:07:30.840 from air when i mentioned it reducing by 50 cents for every dollar of employment income
00:07:41.640 and by one dollar for every dollar of other income what the hell does that mean other income okay so
00:07:51.640 you're going to get your apparently you'll get your stipend reduced if you have a real job
00:08:00.280 so if you make four thousand dollars in a real job a month you won't be getting any but if you make two
00:08:06.520 thousand dollars in a real job you'll still be getting a thousand dollars of your unconditional basic
00:08:13.320 income recommendation number two that the government implement a universal basic income which includes a
00:08:21.560 five hundred dollar a month universal dividend to provide canadians with them in the means to participate and
00:08:29.640 and re-skill in an increasingly automated economy
00:08:37.880 so what's one of the arguments for this ubi without it's going to somehow supersede
00:08:45.640 all other social programs that are extracting money from you and giving it to people it's going to
00:08:54.840 override subsume all other welfare pro economic welfare programs
00:09:03.480 this says it doesn't not only do they want a ubi they want a 500 a month stipend in addition to that
00:09:12.360 for something called re-skilling
00:09:15.960 i don't that can just that can mean just about anything so don't believe to begin with
00:09:21.320 that they're serious about this somehow supplanting subsuming replacing existing social programs
00:09:31.880 do you know the bureaucracy that's in place to protect those social programs to keep them in place
00:09:38.920 because those social programs require a lot of union public service union employees to administer the
00:09:46.600 programs and the government workers are not going to want to give those up
00:09:52.200 and neither is the federal government so this is just going to make an
00:09:56.760 already bloated bureaucracy even bigger and more unmanageable and more unstoppable
00:10:04.040 and it's going to create more administrative burden more financial burden than already exists and
00:10:11.960 anybody who suggests this is somehow going to simplify the welfare process in canada is mad
00:10:19.800 is absolutely uninformed unintelligent and is not thinking this through now explain the last time why
00:10:28.120 it's not going to work it's inflationary to begin with give everybody two thousand dollars and your two
00:10:34.920 thousand dollars isn't worth a dime anymore and that's really what it comes down to but not only that
00:10:42.680 think about this for a minute do you really think two thousand dollars a month is going to do it
00:10:50.120 do you think two thousand dollars one's going to do it which of course is going to cost trillions of
00:10:55.480 dollars and will double the national debt within two years do you think that's going to work
00:11:05.560 because can you live on two thousand dollars a month if that's all you want to make
00:11:14.920 very very difficult to live on two thousand dollars a month when the price of an apartment alone
00:11:23.320 is fifteen hundred to two thousand dollars a month in most canadian cities and believe me you ain't
00:11:29.880 going to get a mortgage when you're making two thousand dollars a month no bank is even going
00:11:35.640 to let you in the front door to talk about it so two thousand dollars a month isn't going to work so
00:11:41.880 do you think that's the end of the discussion no it's going to be the beginning of the discussion
00:11:46.440 because two thousand dollars will not be enough and they'll keep increasing it and increasing it and
00:11:52.280 increasing it until we're basically giving everybody the same wage as people who have to work receive
00:12:02.280 and that's what it comes down to in this and that's why what are we going to do people say
00:12:07.880 well stop complaining about it offer solutions get informed tell your member our parliament
00:12:17.320 whether it's he or she is a liberal a conservative a new democrat
00:12:24.520 god forbid block i tell them this is unworkable get informed on the issues there are no major
00:12:32.280 economists backing this plan this ubi works as a camouflage i believe camouflage organization that is
00:12:43.480 representing a fringe minority of academics who think this is a good idea and i really believe
00:12:54.280 they are connected to the liberal party and the trudeau government i haven't yet to prove that but i
00:12:59.240 think i think i can and i think i will i believe this is a devastating policy a very bad idea so what do you
00:13:09.080 need to do get informed get the facts tell your member of parliament this is going to astronomically
00:13:16.440 increase the national debt the two thousand dollars a month will never be enough
00:13:22.520 that two thousand dollars a month is going to devalue your savings and your salary that two thousand
00:13:30.920 dollars a month is going to be inflationary spending and it's going to cause greater inflation higher
00:13:39.480 mortgage rates and on and on and on get informed about why this is a bad bill why this is communism
00:13:47.880 the government does not owe everybody a living you do not have your hands stretched out and tell the
00:13:56.440 state provide for me from each according to his ability to each according to his need that's what
00:14:03.720 karl marx said that's how he described his economic system and that's what this is all about what's the difference
00:14:11.400 so tell your member of parliament this is nothing short of marxism this is blatant socialism communism
00:14:20.840 this is an attempt to steal your money and this is an attempt by a bunch of idiots who really think
00:14:29.000 this is a solution to poverty who think this is a solution and they actually say this is going to grow
00:14:35.240 prosperity it's no prosperity it's bullshit clear and simple it can't be plainer and that's what this is
00:14:44.120 about and we need to fight this before it becomes another policy area of agreement between the parties
00:14:55.480 and god damn i want to hear the conservative party in the house and outside of the house condemn this
00:15:01.640 because i've told you before deputy conservative leader melissa lansman before she was elected to the
00:15:10.200 house of commons endorsed universal basic income because she said conservatives need to be in front of this
00:15:16.440 and because it's going to eliminate all the other social programs and simplify the welfare process wrong
00:15:24.280 that's not what's going to happen i hope she's wised up i hope she's taken some smart pills
00:15:31.320 since then as my old friend member of parliament former member of parliament dan mct likes to say i hope
00:15:37.960 she's taken some smart pills and realizes this is not a solution i want to show you a video because
00:15:45.720 you see i want to show you how well funded these these folks are because it's quite interesting let's watch this
00:15:53.960 oh yes i wanted to show you this too here we are i am blocked ubi works has blocked me
00:16:07.160 anyway should have brought that slide up sooner but i wanted you to see that because it's quite
00:16:11.880 interesting ubi has blocked me because they didn't like me questioning their little program it didn't
00:16:20.280 like me questioning their senator who can't understand geography and doesn't seem to think
00:16:26.440 she represents a province not some mythical indigenous parcel of land very upset about that but let's watch the video now
00:16:39.000 yes you see this this is on x and
00:16:49.400 it actually reminds me of pharmaceutical ad because we've got all of these happy people
00:16:54.120 having having a great time living it up having the best of life and more than 3.4 million canadians
00:17:03.880 live in poverty what makes you think that they still won't be living in poverty if they're getting
00:17:09.480 two thousand dollars a month sorry you know look at this happy family here yes and the canadian flag
00:17:16.280 is flying over this program and of course yes we'll explain how it works for you maybe they can find a
00:17:23.320 couple of economists who are on side on this i'm sure they will but it's not going to convince me
00:17:30.920 yeah yeah i pile up the pennies that actually says a lot without the commentary because that's really
00:17:37.640 what your two thousand dollars is going to amount to when you start giving it out to everybody it's going
00:17:42.520 to be pennies
00:17:46.200 but this is a very professionally done video
00:17:51.000 you know and that all you're missing here is some very annoying uh theme music that goes with it
00:17:56.920 but it's professionally done i think they're getting some big money and i think it's coming
00:18:02.280 from the government of canada but like i say i have to prove that
00:18:09.400 that's something i can't prove right now but it's very well done and i think it's very effective if you
00:18:15.800 know nothing about this issue and if you think oh this is an opportunity to save the poor
00:18:23.240 to eradicate poverty and to get rid of all of those superfluous social welfare programs
00:18:32.040 that really don't seem to help people just seems to make the government bigger well this is going to
00:18:36.600 make the government ten times as big and it's not going to end here but here we go
00:18:44.840 so you think two thousand bucks a month you're going to be walking on the beach someplace
00:18:50.200 having a great time i got news for you folks ubi doesn't work ubi doesn't work
00:19:01.480 that ubi is going to be a disaster and we got to keep our thumb why do you think this thing came up over
00:19:08.280 christmas it's because this is a trial balloon and they want to see the level of opposition
00:19:17.960 i'm very disappointed i've heard nothing from the conservative party about this
00:19:25.960 i'm going to be talking to maxime bernier shortly he's going to be but he's going to be back on the
00:19:30.120 show in the next couple of weeks and we're going to be talking about this maxine who's a good friend
00:19:35.160 and i encourage maxine to stay in politics because we need him to keep the conservative party honest
00:19:42.120 so they don't embrace policies like this so they don't
00:19:49.800 break the bank on ukraine so they continue with their promise to defund the cbc as we discussed
00:19:57.480 yesterday i think that that's very important
00:20:03.560 now i had a had a story up in the post-millennial about
00:20:09.400 the issue we discussed on saturday but justin trudeau's plane breaking down there's a couple of
00:20:16.040 things i didn't mention
00:20:17.240 in that broadcast that i mentioned in the story and of course some of the folks picked up on it because
00:20:25.880 the irony of this whole story is that justin trudeau staying at a former slave plantation
00:20:33.000 i mean what a guy thank you justin always doing something where the optics aren't good
00:20:42.600 but i find it fascinating that i i picked this story up saturday and immediately thereafter i saw other
00:20:54.520 independent media broadcasters pick it up and the interest level was high very high
00:21:03.000 and it wasn't until monday morning that i started seeing
00:21:06.280 opinion columns in the mainstream media questioning
00:21:14.040 what in the hell was justin trudeau doing back on this at this exclusive private resort
00:21:22.680 in jamaica for the second year in a row you might remember he got into a hell of trouble
00:21:29.160 when he stayed with the aga con because the aga con had received government contracts
00:21:35.240 and what the hell was justin trudeau doing at the aga con's private island so trudeau thought about
00:21:41.880 this and he said well we'll go to jamaica the next time and we'll stay with an old friend
00:21:50.440 who just happens to be a donor for the trudeau foundation
00:21:54.200 but it won't cost the taxpayers a cent because it's all going to be free
00:21:58.440 is this guy a classic slummer or what he can't even pay for his own vacation he's always going to
00:22:08.120 get somebody else to pick up the tab you know people like this when you go out to dinner or you
00:22:13.560 go to the bar they're the people who will wait and wait and wait until somebody else picks up the
00:22:19.160 check and they're usually the person with the most money in the bank they're the richest person in the
00:22:24.040 group but yet somebody else has got to pay for them and just trudeau is that man he's the one
00:22:29.960 who stays at the table until somebody else picks up the check there's a famous story about pablo
00:22:37.640 picasso and charlie chaplin both of whom were communists they called themselves communists
00:22:47.640 chaplin may be a socialist picasso called himself a communist they're they're both far left in their
00:22:53.800 economic theory and their politics they once had lunch together in switzerland
00:23:00.360 and they both refused to pick up the check because they were both not only leftists but cheap leftists
00:23:11.000 extremely cheap
00:23:14.680 and they waited literally for i think it was three hours until one of them finally
00:23:19.080 relented picked up the check because they both expected somebody else
00:23:23.800 to buy the meal that's what justin trudeau was like somebody else is going to pick up the tab
00:23:29.560 for all of his expenses if it's not you with a taxpayer it's somebody else but i'm finally
00:23:35.800 seeing some columnists out there saying something wrong with this picture folks
00:23:41.480 why is our prime minister staying at a resort that costs nine thousand three hundred dollars a month
00:23:47.880 a night excuse me a night yeah maybe a maybe a month would make more sense but
00:23:57.640 as people are suffering in canada as people can't afford to pay the bills as people can't afford to gas
00:24:05.080 their car as people can't afford to hate their home i just read a story this morning about a mother
00:24:10.360 who's doing without food so her children can eat people are lining up at food banks across the country
00:24:18.680 in the freezing cold because they can't afford to buy groceries and justin trudeau is living it up
00:24:25.400 in the lap of luxury in jamaica beautiful sunny climes private pool gorgeous white sand beach
00:24:35.880 all the amenities the hot tub
00:24:40.360 the good food the fine wine that he loves so much and he's living like this and i understand he's
00:24:48.280 going to australia this month too he's taking a second trip to another warm part of the world
00:24:55.480 so he can avoid the canadian winter where's he going to stay then another old friend of the family we
00:25:01.800 don't know yet but believe me i am going to find out because once again he'll be slumming
00:25:08.600 and once again he'll be living in luxury while you and i have to suffer here while you and i can't seem to
00:25:17.560 make enough money for the budget to work and i know i'm talking to the converted here you know
00:25:26.520 i'm saying what we all are feeling and what we all know is true we're making
00:25:32.520 the same amount of money we made a year ago or two years ago but it's not going anywhere near as far
00:25:41.480 we feel like we're working harder than ever we're working more than ever and we're always out of money
00:25:51.800 not a problem for justin trudeau he can stay at a ten thousand dollar a night resort and have
00:26:00.760 a great time and not even think that there's a problem with that picture
00:26:09.000 not even think that that looks pretty damn hypocritical for a guy who does an end of the
00:26:14.840 year interview and says i feel your pain i understand what canadians are going through
00:26:20.280 bullshit you don't understand what canadians are going through because you've never gone through it
00:26:25.800 you have lived in luxury from the time you were raised it's always been smooth sailing for you
00:26:33.880 it's always been easy and you don't understand what canadians are going through this january
00:26:42.120 or any january it's always been a different kind of life for you it's always been a different kind of
00:26:50.600 existence because it's always been paid for so it is an outrage yeah and i bring it up again not just
00:27:00.680 because his plane broke down brand new 2020 canadian forces challenger by the way this wasn't the
00:27:11.160 polaris this time that broke down it was challenger and it's like what four years old and they're
00:27:18.280 breaking down yeah that's an outrage but it's more of an outrage he was in jamaica in the first place
00:27:24.680 doing that and it's just you know somebody said what you know why why are you worried about trudeau's
00:27:32.120 vacations well every time he leaves the country i worry because he does something stupid he says
00:27:37.400 something stupid remember every time he goes to india he makes a complete ass of himself
00:27:42.040 walks around traditional indian garb tries the local dances
00:27:50.760 constantly has pictures taken the last time he was india of course he picked the fight
00:27:57.400 with the indian prime minister and that didn't go down too well and of course yes his jet his
00:28:05.560 polaris that time broke down and he was sitting on the runway for two days but this time yeah he had
00:28:13.320 another breakdown but the real breakdown was in his ability to think
00:28:19.960 going to jamaica in december was not a good idea
00:28:26.280 and not a good idea to pretend canadians don't care and don't notice because they do
00:28:31.960 so i am going to keep my finger on the universal basic income and on trudeau's vacations which will
00:28:39.160 continue this month and we're going to let you know what's going on
00:28:44.040 but until then get informed about where this is go to that website ubi works and just have a look at
