00:00:00.000 And the two prorogations in two years, the first to avoid a vote of non-confidence that
00:00:12.800 would have surely brought this government down, the second to avoid difficult questions.
00:00:21.840 Anyone who disagrees with this government gets pushed aside.
00:00:27.000 The challenge becomes that he gets to use every tribune he can use, all the media, all
00:00:36.660 the voices, all the attention, and gets to further marginalize people who disagree with
00:00:42.500 him.
00:00:43.720 That's why we're talking about prorogation today.
00:00:47.680 Yes, and of course that's a much younger and even more immature Justin Trudeau talking
00:00:54.720 about 2012 about prorogation, which he did yesterday with absolutely no fuss from the
00:01:04.040 Governor General.
00:01:04.380 Let me come back with a...
00:01:11.380 We need a political chain, but we also need to resolve to resist.
00:01:25.260 Okay, was it just me, or did you all feel that Justin Trudeau didn't really resign yesterday?
00:01:43.260 Because I was writing a story for the post-millennial while this happened.
00:01:48.360 And I kept thinking, did he resign or not?
00:01:55.120 He's still the interim leader of being prime minister, but did he resign as leader of the
00:02:02.020 Liberal Party?
00:02:03.020 The answer is no.
00:02:05.200 And you see all of these YouTubers out there saying, Trudeau resigns!
00:02:10.020 Trudeau resigned!
00:02:11.820 No, he didn't.
00:02:13.560 He said he intends to resign.
00:02:17.840 Huge difference.
00:02:19.180 And that's perhaps why people with YouTube stations should have a little bit of information
00:02:26.060 about history in public affairs before they go on the air.
00:02:32.260 Trudeau did not resign yesterday.
00:02:33.820 He said he intends to resign as soon as the Liberal Party finds a successor.
00:02:41.540 Now you say, well, how long will that take?
00:02:46.280 No indication how long that will take.
00:02:48.780 Let's listen to what the leader of the Bloc Québécois, and I usually have no time for
00:02:55.040 the Bloc Québécois.
00:02:56.040 I think they're treasonous SOVs for sitting in the House of Commons agitating for the separation
00:03:03.540 of a province from the country.
00:03:05.540 They have no right to be there.
00:03:08.640 But let's hear what Blanchett had to say yesterday.
00:03:12.780 What if there is something that is put on the table that the Bloc Québécois has been
00:03:16.340 asking for, that a new Liberal leader decides to say, we would like your support in exchange
00:03:21.520 for this?
00:03:22.520 Now it's time for an election, which I will understand that would be held after the Liberal
00:03:31.080 Party has chosen a new leader, and there's nothing else to be taken into consideration
00:03:37.680 at this point.
00:03:38.260 Mr Trudeau has said that...
00:03:41.260 Okay.
00:03:43.260 Why does he understand this is going to take place after the Liberal Party has chosen a new
00:03:49.580 leader?
00:03:52.520 Did Justin Trudeau say that yesterday?
00:03:54.560 Let's listen to Justin Trudeau's remarks again.
00:03:57.760 My friends, as you all know, I'm a fighter.
00:04:02.340 Every bone in my body has always told me to fight because I care deeply about Canadians.
00:04:09.040 I care deeply about this country, and I will always be motivated by what is in the best interest
00:04:15.780 of Canadians.
00:04:17.780 All right, stop there.
00:04:21.840 He's not being motivated what's in the best interest of Canadians.
00:04:27.380 Now let's make this perfectly clear.
00:04:30.220 If he was doing what's in the best interest of Canadians, he would not be asking the Governor
00:04:35.600 General to prorogue or suspend Parliament, because what's happening in the next month, two months
00:04:46.480 and a half, he's talking about proroguing until spring.
00:04:51.340 He's talking about proroguing for the entire winter season.
00:04:55.620 In fact, Parliament hasn't met since the October, or actually the autumn update.
00:05:06.000 So literally, this is a season without Parliament.
00:05:10.660 The winter season of 2024-2025 is a season without Parliament.
00:05:16.440 And Justin Trudeau has the gall, again, to suggest he's doing this in the best interest
00:05:23.780 of the country.
00:05:24.820 No, he's doing this in the best interest of Justin Trudeau and the best interest of the
00:05:30.340 Liberal Party, not the country.
00:05:33.140 Which needs Parliament back by January 20th, when Donald Trump takes over the office of
00:05:42.300 president.
00:05:42.680 He was accredited yesterday by Congress.
00:05:47.480 Vice President Kamala Harris said Donald Trump won the election.
00:05:56.600 I have to say, I've never liked Kamala Harris, never had anything to admire her for.
00:06:03.140 But I admired her for saying that yesterday.
00:06:05.960 Standing up and being objective in the face of political reality.
00:06:12.200 Good for her for saying that.
00:06:14.240 But the point is, Donald Trump's coming.
00:06:16.920 13 days from now, Donald Trump wants to slap 25% tariffs on Canada.
00:06:24.540 Justin Trudeau has no response for that.
00:06:28.020 Sorry.
00:06:28.700 The fact is, despite best efforts to work through it, Parliament has been paralyzed for months
00:06:37.800 after what has been the longest session of a minority Parliament in Canadian history.
00:06:43.880 That's why this morning, I advised the Governor-General that we need a new session of Parliament.
00:06:51.820 So what's a new session of Parliament going to, how is that going to make any difference?
00:06:58.320 How is that going to make any difference at all?
00:07:02.340 Justin Trudeau never explains that.
00:07:04.700 He told the Governor-General, this is what you're going to do, and you're going to like it.
00:07:09.480 The Governor-General is in Trudeau's pocket.
00:07:12.080 She has no credibility.
00:07:12.980 She's a worthless piece of crap for doing this.
00:07:17.920 She's not a head of state.
00:07:20.380 She pretends to be a head of state.
00:07:23.680 She's only there for DEI reasons.
00:07:26.720 And she gave in to Justin Trudeau's demand that Parliament be prorogued because he says so.
00:07:34.400 Because it's bad.
00:07:36.400 It'd be more advantageous for me and the Liberal Party if we prorogue Parliament right now.
00:07:41.740 This is one of the worst examples of constitutional authority being abridged in history.
00:07:54.200 She has granted this request, and the House will now be prorogued until March 24th.
00:08:02.020 Over the holidays, I've also had a chance to reflect and have had long talks with my family about our future.
00:08:10.180 Throughout the course of my career, any success I have personally achieved has been because of their support and with their encouragement.
00:08:21.360 So last night over dinner, I told my kids about the decision that I'm sharing with you today.
00:08:26.940 I intend to resign as party leader, as prime minister, after the party selects its next leader through a robust, nationwide, competitive process.
00:08:41.940 I intend to resign.
00:08:46.860 That's the key words.
00:08:48.460 Now, people who were watching this yesterday did not understand what intend means.
00:08:55.440 It doesn't mean I'm resigning today.
00:08:59.040 It means I'm going to resign in the future when it's convenient to do so.
00:09:05.060 So, Justin Trudeau did not resign as prime minister yesterday.
00:09:10.140 He did not resign as leader of the Liberal Party yesterday.
00:09:14.180 All he said was he intends to resign in the future when the Liberal Party chooses a successor after a robust leadership race.
00:09:31.680 Now, what does that, what is a robust leadership race?
00:09:35.240 Well, I would suggest that's up to four months long.
00:09:39.300 Now, so why does the leader of the Bloc Québécois suggest that it's all going to be over by March?
00:09:50.920 Absolutely no reason to assume that.
00:09:52.860 That's Blanchett making assumptions, presumptions, about how long this leadership race is going to go.
00:10:02.000 Who do you think is going to win this leadership race?
00:10:03.660 Who do you think really wants it?
00:10:05.520 Okay, we've got Mark Carney.
00:10:07.060 We have Christia Freeland.
00:10:09.640 We have Melanie Jolie.
00:10:11.780 And we have a bunch of people who nobody even has heard of.
00:10:19.520 But do you really think this leadership race is going to be over in, what, six weeks?
00:10:27.740 When it hasn't even begun yet?
00:10:30.880 No.
00:10:31.440 Last night, I asked the President of the Liberal Party to begin that process.
00:10:38.900 This country deserves a real choice in the next election.
00:10:42.560 And it has become clear to me that if I'm having to fight internal battles, I cannot be the best option in that election.
00:10:52.660 My friends, as you all know, I'm a fighter, as party leader, as prime minister, after the party selects its next leader through a robust, nationwide, competitive process.
00:11:10.380 Last night, I asked the President of the Liberal Party to begin that process.
00:11:15.160 This country deserves a real choice in the next election.
00:11:20.520 And it has become clear to me that if I'm having to fight internal battles, I cannot be the best option in that election.
00:11:28.520 When did he not have to fight internal battles?
00:11:32.800 Is this something new?
00:11:35.980 Don't...
00:11:36.860 This is Justin Trudeau's latest incarnation.
00:11:40.340 This is him playing a role.
00:11:42.540 Justin Trudeau's very good at theatrics.
00:11:46.440 Extremely good at theatrics.
00:11:48.360 This is all he's doing here.
00:11:50.540 It's playing a new role.
00:11:53.260 This is the role of damaged prime minister, and I'm going to resign.
00:11:59.700 I cannot be the best option in that election.
00:12:03.480 All right.
00:12:08.320 As I think I mentioned yesterday, there's an historical precedent for this.
00:12:13.580 But we have to go all the way back to 1979, which I'm sure a lot of my viewers weren't around for, or at least weren't watching the political scene about.
00:12:24.520 But in 1979, Pierre Trudeau, Pierre Elliott Trudeau, who most people think was Justin Trudeau's father, declared he was leaving politics.
00:12:38.260 That's all that's going on here.
00:12:42.260 Of course, Pierre Trudeau decided to come back to politics when the situation erupted.
00:12:52.660 What happened?
00:12:53.680 Well, he was very tired very quickly of being opposition leader, the official opposition leader in the House of Commons to Joe Clark's government.
00:13:03.200 And I really have no time for Joe Clark.
00:13:05.420 But it was the first conservative government since 1963.
00:13:12.220 So you're looking at 16 years of liberal government under Lester Pearson and Pierre Trudeau.
00:13:27.680 And there was a brief nine-month government under Prime Minister Joe Clark.
00:13:35.420 Which was really not a very conservative government, but that's beside the point.
00:13:39.960 So he introduced a 16-cent gasoline tax in his November budget.
00:13:47.200 John Crosby's only budget as finance minister.
00:13:51.920 That budget was defeated.
00:13:55.160 And the House of Commons declared no confidence in Joe Clark's government.
00:14:00.300 All he had to do, this is how stupid Joe Clark was,
00:14:04.140 was talk to the creditees, the six social credit members in Quebec who were supporting, propping up his minority government.
00:14:12.360 But he didn't do that.
00:14:14.640 So the creditees voted against Joe Clark, toppling the government.
00:14:20.560 Nobody expected that to happen so quickly.
00:14:23.180 So what happened?
00:14:24.200 The Liberal Party was leaderless.
00:14:25.860 They hadn't even begun to have a leadership campaign.
00:14:29.240 Suddenly, they realized, hey, the election's been called for February 22nd, 1980.
00:14:39.020 We'd better do something quick.
00:14:41.580 So they started a draft Pierre Trudeau movement.
00:14:47.700 And Pierre Trudeau said, you know how I used to shrug like this.
00:14:53.140 And Pierre Trudeau said, I guess so.
00:14:54.660 I'm coming back.
00:14:57.240 And had he not come back, he would have been remembered as the prime minister who invoked the War Measures Act
00:15:04.020 and who flip-flopped on wage and price controls.
00:15:08.620 Only two things he did during his first 11 years as prime minister that were in any way newsworthy,
00:15:16.100 except for perhaps swearing, using the F-word in the House of Commons.
00:15:22.500 Now, if Justin Trudeau is gone in the next couple of months,
00:15:29.480 how will he be remembered for two things alone?
00:15:35.920 Legalizing pot marijuana and using the Emergencies Act,
00:15:42.520 the replacement legislation for the War Measures Act against peaceful protesters in Ottawa,
00:15:50.020 bringing down the full force of the police, literally the full force on their heads.
00:15:55.680 And I was there to see it and narrowly missed having my own head hit by abusive police.
00:16:06.560 That's what Justin Trudeau will be remembered for.
00:16:09.940 So Justin Trudeau is thinking, how can I stay on for a little longer and have a better legacy?
00:16:16.880 Well, I'll pretend to resign.
00:16:18.940 And when the government falls in March, they'll want me back.
00:16:24.300 And that's what Justin Trudeau is planning right now.
00:16:26.800 That is my little prediction for today.
00:16:30.140 And where is Jagmeet Singh in this?
00:16:32.440 Well, let's listen.
00:16:33.660 Because Jagmeet Singh, of course, has been the little hypocrite all the way.
00:16:38.120 Yeah, I'm an opposition leader, but I'm also in Justin Trudeau's pocket.
00:16:44.180 Now, Justin Trudeau knows he needs Jagmeet Singh's continued support.
00:16:50.100 Now, what happens if the House comes back in March?
00:16:53.320 The country will be in chaos, by the way.
00:16:55.580 Total chaos.
00:16:57.020 Because Donald Trump will have slapped 25% tariffs on Canadian goods and products.
00:17:03.780 No question.
00:17:05.980 He's not impressed with our border security plan.
00:17:09.460 He's not impressed with Justin Trudeau being a lame-duck prime minister.
00:17:12.900 He's not impressed with the fact we're not having an election now.
00:17:19.340 As soon as there is a confidence vote, we will be voting against the government.
00:17:24.680 It is clear that they have let down people.
00:17:26.440 In terms of changing the election laws, we actually proposed that.
00:17:31.040 We proposed those changes to say, let's make it easier for people to vote.
00:17:34.620 Let's change the hours of voting.
00:17:36.160 Let's make it easier for people to vote at a different polling station in their riding.
00:17:39.940 We've already proposed those things.
00:17:41.540 The liberals had a shot to actually improve those things.
00:17:44.220 They did not do the work necessary.
00:17:46.880 Let us be very clear.
00:17:47.880 This is not just Justin Trudeau.
00:17:49.340 This is every liberal minister.
00:17:51.240 This is every liberal MP.
00:17:52.560 All of them are to blame for the situation we're in right now.
00:17:57.480 It is all of their collective faults.
00:17:59.740 So no, they let down Canadians.
00:18:02.380 They do not deserve another chance.
00:18:04.400 The next election is going to be a choice between Pierre Polyev and the conservatives
00:18:08.000 who want to cut from you to give to the rich buddies,
00:18:12.060 or new Democrats who want to fight for you to lower the cost of your groceries.
00:18:16.240 Take on those greedy CEOs and those billionaires that are ripping you off.
00:18:19.740 Okay, so yes, the usual BS from this BS artist, this chronic liar who pretends he's somehow
00:18:29.080 on your side with groceries, although he's related to a grocery king himself.
00:18:35.980 And he had a one-man boycott against the grocery chain that's competing with his brother-in-law's chain.
00:18:46.280 This guy is a joke.
00:18:47.880 He's a walking, talking joke.
00:18:50.340 And he's never lived up to any of his claims.
00:18:55.600 But as I said yesterday and preceding that, I've said this for the last couple of days,
00:19:01.800 the arithmetic is in Jagmeet Singh's favor.
00:19:06.320 Now, had the House of Commons come back on January 27th as planned,
00:19:11.960 and had there been an emergency non-confidence vote the following day as planned,
00:19:20.020 Jagmeet Singh still would have preserved his seat in the Vancouver area and his pension,
00:19:28.680 because that's all this is about.
00:19:30.600 This man is so incredibly worthless,
00:19:33.240 He can't even imagine making enough money as a corporate lawyer to support himself.
00:19:42.240 He needs your taxpayer money for the rest of his life to sustain himself.
00:19:48.980 Now, it's pretty pathetic when somebody gets into politics just for the salary and the pension.
00:19:55.800 But that's increasingly obvious.
00:19:58.960 That's all Jagmeet Singh ever had in mind.
00:20:02.560 And to bring the government in line with the NDP as a socialist government,
00:20:09.200 and to destroy the NDP party as a viable alternative to the liberals,
00:20:16.560 because he's made it exactly like the Liberal Party.
00:20:20.080 There's no difference between, and the two, the Liberals and the NDP are going to exterminate each other in the next election.
00:20:27.520 They're going to decimate each other in the next election.
00:20:32.560 There's no question about that.
00:20:34.840 Now, what else did Jagmeet Singh say?
00:20:36.100 Let's, let's, let's, okay, was he clear about this?
00:20:40.400 Okay, Jagmeet Singh says, yes, the first available opportunity,
00:20:44.880 the NDP will vote against the Liberal government.
00:20:50.080 Heard him say it, and he said it again.
00:20:53.920 It is clear the Liberals have let down Canadians.
00:20:57.060 We fought and fought the Liberals at every step,
00:21:00.700 and we got as much as we could get out of them through our fight.
00:21:03.800 It is clear they've walked away now.
00:21:05.760 It does not matter who is chosen as the next Liberal leader.
00:21:09.040 They have let you down.
00:21:10.420 They do not deserve another chance.
00:21:12.140 So as soon as there is a confidence vote,
00:21:14.900 the Democrats will be voting against the government,
00:21:17.540 and then we will have an election.
00:21:18.800 And in that election, Canadians have an important choice.
00:21:22.520 You got to look at what Pierre Polyev wants to do,
00:21:24.560 who he's been meeting with,
00:21:26.000 what he's been spending his past two years doing.
00:21:28.140 Past two years, you saw what I did.
00:21:29.520 I fought for dental care.
00:21:30.940 We fought to make sure people had free diabetes medication and free...
00:21:34.220 All right, that's enough.
00:21:36.220 B.S.
00:21:36.720 So this guy is telling you he's going to vote against the Liberal government
00:21:43.120 at the first available opportunity.
00:21:46.920 Doesn't matter who the replacement is.
00:21:49.520 Okay, so why is Jagmeet Singh,
00:21:51.440 and why is the bloc leader Blanchett,
00:21:56.120 assuming there's going to be a different leader
00:21:58.800 in the Liberal Party
00:22:01.100 by late March
00:22:05.120 when the next confidence vote,
00:22:07.320 non-confidence vote, will come up?
00:22:08.720 Why are they assuming that?
00:22:11.220 Did Justin Trudeau suggest for a minute
00:22:14.280 that that's going to happen?
00:22:17.480 Did he deliver a timeline
00:22:19.260 for this leadership campaign?
00:22:21.760 No, he just said it has to be coast to coast,
00:22:25.480 has to be robust,
00:22:26.920 has to be national in focus,
00:22:28.640 has to involve everybody.
00:22:31.480 So what, that's going to happen in what, four weeks?
00:22:35.620 Even six weeks?
00:22:37.380 Sorry.
00:22:38.900 You know how long leadership campaigns take?
00:22:42.280 People have to raise money.
00:22:45.140 They have to get out there and get recognized.
00:22:47.620 They have to book a convention center.
00:22:54.060 And right, they're going to book that right now.
00:22:57.500 In March, in January for March?
00:23:00.120 No.
00:23:01.260 This is a fraudulent exercise.
00:23:04.220 I'm telling you right now.
00:23:06.180 You're not going to hear this
00:23:07.240 from all these YouTubers out there
00:23:10.340 who think this is the best news they've ever heard.
00:23:13.240 I don't know what they're going to do
00:23:14.320 without Justin Trudeau.
00:23:15.240 They kick around, by the way.
00:23:16.400 They have nothing else to say.
00:23:19.800 But Justin Trudeau is not finished yet.
00:23:22.700 He's playing another game.
00:23:24.900 It's a new game.
00:23:26.580 He will continue to play this game
00:23:28.280 for as long as he thinks it's necessary
00:23:30.340 to stay in power.
00:23:32.400 And that's what this is all about.
00:23:36.180 I wish I could say,
00:23:37.740 it's Christmas again.
00:23:41.140 Justin Trudeau's gone.
00:23:43.280 But not quite.
00:23:44.240 We haven't seen that happen yet.
00:23:49.340 Keep your fingers on the dial, though,
00:23:52.100 because it will happen.
00:23:54.340 But we need elections before October.
00:23:59.280 We need a government that has credibility,
00:24:02.140 not only with Canadians,
00:24:05.040 but with Donald Trump and Americans.
00:24:09.200 We need a government that has legitimacy.
00:24:11.720 Justin Trudeau or whomever might take his place
00:24:18.680 in the next two and a half months
00:24:20.300 doesn't have legitimacy,
00:24:22.940 either with Canadian voters
00:24:25.140 or with Americans
00:24:27.040 and with the Donald Trump administration.
00:24:29.800 They're laughing at the country right now
00:24:32.900 as the 51st state.
00:24:34.980 Yeah, I agree with some folks who have said,
00:24:40.320 you know, Donald Trump shouldn't be talking about us
00:24:42.880 as the 51st state.
00:24:44.220 He shouldn't be talking about Justin Trudeau
00:24:46.260 as the governor of the 51st state.
00:24:49.280 Maybe not.
00:24:50.300 But it indicates the contempt he has
00:24:54.920 for this liberal government
00:24:56.640 that has no validity
00:24:58.020 with Canadians anymore.
00:25:03.460 And that has to be realized.
00:25:09.300 I think we've got another
00:25:10.820 video coming up here.
00:25:14.520 Just a sec.
00:25:15.040 No, not there.
00:25:23.300 Anyway, thank you so much for watching today.
00:25:25.500 It's been a it's been a pleasure to be here.
00:25:30.680 Hold on.
00:25:31.360 I'm just going to see if we have this.
00:25:44.360 This is Mark Miller.
00:25:46.140 This is a fascinating little piece
00:25:48.340 of history here.
00:25:50.000 I'm just going to I'm just going to check
00:25:51.160 and see if we have this.
00:25:53.100 Yes, let's read this.
00:25:55.740 Many people in Canada
00:25:56.800 love being the 51st state.
00:25:59.040 The United States can no longer
00:26:00.440 suffer the massive trade deficits
00:26:02.460 and subsidies that Canada needs
00:26:04.360 to stay afloat.
00:26:05.380 Justin Trudeau knew this and resigned.
00:26:07.720 He didn't resign.
00:26:08.700 Donald Trump said he intends to.
00:26:10.920 If Canada merged with the U.S.,
00:26:12.360 there would be no tariffs.
00:26:16.340 Taxes would go way down
00:26:17.900 and they would be totally secure
00:26:19.980 from the threat of the Russian
00:26:21.580 and the Chinese ships
00:26:22.920 that are constantly surrounding them.
00:26:24.360 Together, what a great nation it would be.
00:26:27.060 So he's still done.
00:26:28.740 This is not two months ago.
00:26:31.440 This is Donald Trump last night.
00:26:33.640 He is still continuing
00:26:35.600 to agitate for this
00:26:37.000 because I don't know
00:26:39.060 if Donald Trump is serious or not
00:26:40.620 about the 51st state
00:26:42.000 where he thinks this is a likelihood
00:26:43.620 or a possibility.
00:26:46.180 He knows Justin Trudeau
00:26:47.900 has no credibility.
00:26:49.880 He knows that much.
00:26:52.000 And that's what this is all about.
00:26:53.840 So, fascinating piece.
00:26:58.040 We're going to show you
00:26:58.740 that Mark Miller piece tomorrow.
00:27:04.600 And
00:27:05.080 thank you very much
00:27:08.900 for watching today.
00:27:10.840 We'll be back again tomorrow
00:27:12.360 with all the news you need to know.
00:27:13.980 And
00:27:15.060 remember this.
00:27:17.040 We are continuing
00:27:18.140 to resolve,
00:27:19.520 to resist.
00:27:20.000 And read my substack today.
00:27:21.200 I reminded you of this earlier.
00:27:23.680 Read this
00:27:24.480 if you want more information.
00:27:26.500 Thanks so much
00:27:27.140 for watching today.
00:27:28.820 We'll be back again tomorrow.
