00:00:40.980 the Alberta government, and Albertans own the resource, 85% of it. And we ask the energy
00:00:46.100 companies to develop the resource on our behalf. And we get a lot of revenue as a result of it. I
00:00:51.280 think this year in combination, our royalty revenue, as well as our revenue from corporate income tax,
00:00:57.420 along with personal income tax, is somewhere in the order of $20 billion. And so if we can
00:01:01.580 incentivize the construction of carbon capture utilization and storage so we can have the
00:01:06.720 best barrels and the greenest barrels and ensure that that revenue stream continues for the next
00:01:11.700 20, 30, 40 years or more, then it seems to me it's a pretty good investment. Finally, moving into the
00:01:16.640 controversy of the week, Calgary Mayor Yodi Gondek refused to attend the annual menorah lighting at Calgary
00:01:22.660 City Hall, saying it became, quote, too political after organizers decided to use the event to show
00:01:28.720 support for Israel. In a lengthy statement posted to X, formerly known as Twitter, the mayor wrote,
00:01:34.400 quote, when I was asked to speak weeks ago, it was to bring traditional greetings, celebrating
00:01:40.060 Hanukkah and the spirit of Calgary's Jewish community. The last minute change goes against
00:01:44.960 the original intention and has left me feeling let down by leadership. I am saddened that this change
00:01:50.600 makes it impossible for me to attend tomorrow's event, and I am incredibly concerned that people
00:01:55.740 wishing to celebrate Hanukkah will have their good intentions compromised. Gondek went on to say that
00:02:01.180 by becoming political, the event went against the mission to, quote, uphold diversity and inclusion.
00:02:07.700 She added, quote, further, in the many conversations I have had with Jewish and Muslim leaders,
00:02:12.960 the outcome has been agreement to engage in an interfaith manner, to move forward in peace and

00:02:37.780 over another. We have a moral imperative to do so. The killing must stop in Gaza because it is
00:02:43.900 spreading division and hatred far and wide. Eradicating Hamas must come in a different
00:02:49.120 form than mass casualties. The Calgary Sun spoke to a rabbi and organizer of the event who said the
00:02:55.360 day's central meaning remains religious and spiritual. Rabbi Maneke Mutzav said, quote,
00:03:01.040 it is a celebration of Hanukkah and bringing Hanukkah to life. We celebrate light over darkness and light
00:03:06.840 over death. It's not a demonstration for Israel, but at the same time, of course,
00:03:12.160 were supporting Israel. In her decision not to attend the event, Gondek pointed to a poster
00:03:17.100 advertising the ceremony, which said supporting Israel on it. It also included the popular Hebrew
