Joe Biden s pay-for-play scheme is a scandal of epic proportions, and it's time for the American people to see the truth. Hot Takes is a series of hot takes on hot button issues affecting our society and politics.
00:08:21.240So if one only knew that, they would come to the conclusion that the founding organizing principles of this group is one of exclusion and racism.
00:08:30.420And I don't know very much about the Proud Boys in terms of their doctrine and their ideology, but I do know a Proud Boy, and he's a gay rights activist.
00:08:40.800And so my knowledge of one particular journalist who happens to associate with the Proud Boys but also happens to associate with the LGBT rights community doesn't really strike me as someone who is exclusive or bigoted in their viewpoints.
00:08:59.260And then I also had occasion at a recent speaking event where I attended something where there were a lot of folks coming in and out.
00:09:08.540I met a man who came up and introduced himself to me as the president of the Proud Boys, and he was black.
00:09:16.080And I was a bit startled by the fact that, you know, the man standing before me didn't match the characterization of the Proud Boys that I had heard in this debate.
00:09:26.360And he just sort of looked at me and said, I wasn't what you were expecting, was I?
00:09:31.700And then very quickly he moved on to greet someone else, and it was a very brief encounter.
00:09:37.540And then just this past week, I attended a pro-America rally in Milton, Florida, in my district.
00:09:46.660And one of the groups that also attended and participated were Black Voices for Trump.
00:09:52.320And they were there with speeches and American flags and the anthem and just a whole lot of love of country.
00:10:00.160And as I was leaving the event, one of the folks who had brought me there said, well, did you notice who was helping us with security?
00:10:12.820And I thought, my goodness, the Proud Boys providing security and safety for the Black Voices for Trump group attending a pro-America rally in the Deep South, you know, to celebrate our country and our anthem and our veterans and our law enforcement just doesn't seem to match the characterizations that I've heard.
00:10:35.380Now, when I meet someone, I don't know what, you know, the moment I meet them, if they're a racist or a bigot or if they have some other flaw.
00:10:43.720I tend to start from the proposition that my fellow Americans that I meet are fundamentally good people.
00:10:49.180And of course, we don't we don't know everything anyone has said or done, but we've gotten on to such a cancel culture trend lately.
00:10:58.100I do think it's important to judge the things that people have said and the things that people have done.
00:11:04.720But I also think it's important to judge the experiences that you have with folks and the experiences that I personally have observed and have had with the Proud Boys.
00:11:17.520The I think, you know, just a patriotic contribution that they've made to keeping black people safe who wanted to speak about politics in the Deep South is admirable.
00:11:30.600Now, that's not to say that everything they've ever said or done is admirable.
00:11:33.300I don't know everything they've said or done.
00:11:35.400And I don't think that just because you take a picture with someone, enjoy a celebration of law enforcement with someone, that you're tied to every viewpoint that they've ever had or that they ever will have in the future.
00:11:49.140That's what the cancel culture wants you to believe.
00:11:51.720You see, if they cancel enough of us, then they create their own echo chamber for their own views.
00:11:56.540I think we need a dynamic landscape of ideas and ideologies and doctrines.
00:12:04.160And then we get to see how each of them, when utilized, can impact our lives.
00:12:09.080And hopefully we find inclusive and kind ways to adopt a doctrine in this country that's reflective of the success and the graciousness that we have experienced and that we've shared with the world.
00:12:22.700Throughout our entire time as the principal hegemon on the planet Earth, America has been a kind and gracious country.
00:12:31.880Frankly, I think involving ourselves in endless wars hasn't inured to the benefit of our country or the world.
00:12:38.780But I do think that the essence of America is good.
00:12:42.980And I think that when we try to cancel every group or every segment among us because we don't like their politics, it diminishes the vibrance and diversity of our country.
00:12:55.580Donald Trump appears to be expanding his support in the black rapper community after collaborating with Ice Cube on the campaign's Platinum Plan for Black America.
00:13:09.820Now, 50 Cent endorsing Donald J. Trump for president.
00:13:17.020And it's great to see 50 Cent making this decision.
00:13:19.940Really, it appears on economic terms, saying that he doesn't want to be 20 Cent.
00:13:24.42050 Cent actually is quite the investor.
00:13:27.420I think he has invested in a number of companies that have gone really big.
00:13:32.220And I think he's made more money as a venture capitalist than he ever made in the music industry.
00:13:37.580And so he understands the value of capital markets and funding people's dreams and successes and seeing vision come to fruition in a way that is productive and profitable.
00:13:48.880And it is an honor to have 50 Cent as a part of our America First movement.
00:13:54.420Yesterday, I had a deeply moving personal experience.
00:14:00.760We were on the Trump bus tour across Northwest Florida and at a stop in Fort Walton Beach.
00:14:06.640I got off and noticed this big, hulking guy on crutches.
00:14:11.760And he had his beautiful wife with him and two little sons, neither quite school-aged yet.
00:14:17.360But it appeared they might have just gotten up from a nap and weren't in the best of moods.
00:14:21.600And so I bounded off the bus to give them each a lollipop and cheer them up for the coming speeches.
00:14:27.500And I introduced myself to the big gentleman on the crutches and he said, well, I've met you before.
00:14:34.720And he pulled out his phone and he showed me a picture of the two of us at Walter Reed after he had come back from Afghanistan and had been injured in an event where the very Afghans that our military was training turned and attacked U.S. service members.
00:14:54.500And this particular constituent of mine, I don't want to say his whole name because I don't want him to be the subject of any criticism for being on my podcast.
00:15:19.240And after three months of surgeries, after quite a long amount of time in the hospital, he's now back in northwest Florida with his wife and with his family.
00:15:31.460And what I remember about Martin from the hospital right after he had come back to our country, he was so dedicated and determined to be as good a husband and father as he was a soldier for America.
00:15:45.220And that determination was evident in the pride he had in his two sons and bringing him out to see me and to see the rest of the folks on the bus tour and take pictures and enjoy a great afternoon with us.
00:15:58.360And, you know, it just continues to inspire my own patriotism to see how people can love our country so much that they would be willing to go anywhere and fight anyone and endure any challenge to their life, to their marriage, to their parenting for the sake of America.
00:16:17.700And it means that those of us who are entrusted with decision making ought to make damn sure that we know what we're doing when we ask the very best among us to make these sacrifices that they are so willing to make for the sake of our country and our people and our constitution and our way of life.
00:16:38.820And, you know, I just I just I just can't imagine, you know, those who would observe this type of patriotism and think anything other than America is the greatest country that has ever existed because we have these types of patriots willing to do these things often for the liberty and for the benefit of others.
00:16:59.060And we're grateful to Martin. I was honored to see him. He's doing so much better.
00:17:04.160And actually, I'm particularly proud that he said he and his wife are looking to buy a piece of property right here in northwest Florida and make this their forever home.
00:17:14.600I'm honored to have them as my bosses, my constituents, my fellow Americans.
00:17:22.600If Democrats did win this election, what would be their plans for the rest of us?
00:17:28.100Tucker Carlson has reporting on the Truth and Reconciliation Commission.
00:17:32.920Take a listen because every single day of this year has been yet another page torn directly from a George Orwell novel.
00:17:40.980You can't believe it's real. But unfortunately, it is.
00:17:44.580Some Democrats are now calling for a Truth and Reconciliation Commission to try or assess Trump supporters after the election.
00:17:53.160Truth and Reconciliation Commission. This weekend, for example, former Obama advisor Robert Reich, who was a labor secretary under Bill Clinton,
00:17:59.740wrote that Truth and Reconciliation Commission would, quote, name every official politician, executive and media mogul whose greed and cowardice enabled this catastrophe, end quote.
00:18:11.220Several MSNBC anchors have made the same suggestion. Chris Hayes, for example.
00:18:15.740In July, another MSNBC personality offered a preview of these commissions.
00:18:19.700Let me take an example like the Truth and Reconciliation Commission in South Africa.
00:18:25.160Because it's a good example because apartheid went on for a long time.
00:18:27.960But basically, people would come before that commission and admit there was a truth telling.
00:19:28.360And the way that we tell the truth is by adhering to the values, to the Constitution, to the principles that have made this country the envy of the world.
