Transcript

00:00:00.000 matt gates the biggest firebrand inside of the house of representatives you're not taking matt
00:00:08.300 gates off the board okay because matt gates is an american patriot and matt gates is an american
00:00:13.640 hero we will not continue to allow the uniparty to run this town without a fight i want to thank
00:00:20.780 you matt gates for holding the line matt gates is a courageous man if we had hundreds of matt gates
00:00:28.220 in dc the country turns around it's that simple he's so tough he's so strong he's smart and he
00:00:34.980 loves this country matt gates it is the honor of my life to fight alongside each and every one of you
00:00:42.780 we will save america it's choose your fighter time send in the firebrand
00:00:48.280 welcome back to firebrand we're broadcasting live out of room 2021 of the rayburn house office
00:00:59.740 building in the capitol complex here in washington dc fauci has been naughty in montana we've got
00:01:06.100 new investigative reporting on the coronavirus research that we were exporting from the united
00:01:11.320 states of america that's coming up news from the colorado courtroom which has totally gone off the
00:01:17.400 rails regarding the effort to get president trump off the ballot despite being just by far the leading
00:01:23.380 republican candidate and if we're having any issues on rumble right now let us know uh we're we're
00:01:29.320 working out a new rig here as you can see we began in israel let's get this bloomberg piece up
00:01:35.360 israel uh showing that we've got some folks coming out of gaza we've got jordan recalling their
00:01:42.800 ambassador uh here jordan puts out a statement recalling its ambassador to israel quote in rejection
00:01:49.340 and condemnation of the ongoing war in gaza that's from the foreign minister of jordan and we're also
00:01:56.620 getting word uh that there is some progress in the rafa crossing getting people out of harm's way
00:02:03.100 uh this from the bloomberg report some foreigners and wounded palestinians were allowed to leave gaza
00:02:08.360 wednesday and have arrived in egypt in the first such development since israel began its ground invasion
00:02:13.460 in the territory the qatar mediated deal intends to lead around 500 people leaving each day this will be
00:02:21.400 the wounded the injured the civilians and we certainly want them out of harm's way and it brings us to
00:02:27.340 really the debate in washington regarding legislation and funding as you well know we have a memorandum
00:02:35.680 of understanding with israel to maintain their qualitative military edge in the region israel
00:02:42.200 maintaining a qualitative military edge is something that has been part of u.s foreign policy for decades
00:02:48.260 it's something i support and it's something that has put israel on a 3.8 billion dollar auto pay
00:02:54.020 to build the iron dome and david sling and arrow and other systems that not only benefit israel but
00:03:00.180 really contribute to a lot of research and development of military equipment in the united
00:03:04.220 states but there is politics all over this israel funding bill and that's what i want to talk to you
00:03:10.320 about so mitch mcconnell wants to use the fact that israel is a place with a 4 000 year connection to
00:03:17.020 our faith to drag more ukraine money across the line money for ukraine that has lost the support of
00:03:24.680 a majority of the majority in the house of representatives i spoke with a key senator over
00:03:29.660 the weekend who said that in the senate stand-alone ukraine money may have lost a majority of republicans
00:03:36.960 there as well that would be a lagging indicator but very telling and very significant so what mitch mcconnell
00:03:43.580 wants to do because he's putting ukraine first in all these negotiations is he wants to combine the
00:03:50.680 question on ukraine and israel now i have advised house speaker mike johnson to separate the question
00:03:58.460 that way we can isolate ukraine and deal with it on i think a more sober and honest and thoughtful
00:04:06.240 paradigm than we have in the past when we've simply allowed a blank check to go out the door to
00:04:12.600 zelinski and whatever his whims are so you've got mcconnell wanting to combine them you've got
00:04:18.720 johnson wanting to separate them lindsey graham has become the front man to stop whatever money
00:04:26.600 is going to israel from being offset in the budget take a listen
00:04:32.380 do you side with the top democrat in the senate or the top republican in the house i side with israel
00:04:39.600 and i want to get them as much money as they need as quick as they can get it so to the house
00:04:43.760 i understand we need to start paying for things around here i get that but this is truly an emergency
00:04:49.640 and i don't think we've ever offset an emergency aid before when we have a disaster when it's a
00:04:55.560 hurricane it hits south carolina we don't have pay for us because it's an emergency what i don't want
00:05:02.260 to happen is that the support for israel become partisan right i think there's probably 400 votes
00:05:08.740 in the house to support israel and when you start putting things like pay for us on the table
00:05:14.760 then you break that coalition apart that's what i worry about
00:05:17.860 i cannot believe we just heard a republican senator say that it is against the concept of bipartisanship
00:05:27.740 to have budgetary offsets and pay force of course that is the way to drive down the inflation that is
00:05:35.420 crushing so many americans to ensure that we're not just printing more money sending it abroad and
00:05:40.300 then diluting the dollars that are held by u.s citizens i was recently at an event in northwest florida
00:05:46.860 and i talked about mike johnson's pay for for the 14 billion dollar israel fund appropriation that
00:05:54.640 we're sending into that conflict and folks were pretty excited when they learned what speaker
00:05:58.720 johnson's idea was johnson would pay for the israel money by taking it right out of the hide of the irs
00:06:07.100 and that is something i can undeniably get behind the irs used to have a 12 billion dollar budget
00:06:13.080 that swelled to an 80 billion dollar budget as a consequence of the inflation reduction act
00:06:18.260 and so this would peel back 14 billion of that and i think let our people off the mat
00:06:25.160 when it comes to excessive government weaponization and that is exactly what these irs agents would be
00:06:31.120 intended to do you heard kevin mccarthy promise the repeal of the 87 000 irs agents that never happened
00:06:37.600 but if the irs functioned as the pay for for israel well then we take a meat cleaver to the irs and at
00:06:44.260 the same time israel doesn't become the engine that has to haul the ukraine money politically
00:06:52.500 so i think it's quite a dev strategy by the speaker also as we're looking at issues around the world
00:06:59.380 i want to go to china because there are things happening in china that we should be very concerned
00:07:04.920 about given this u.s involvement in the war in ukraine and growing involvement in the middle east
00:07:11.360 as israel defends itself you have to monitor the activities and the rhetoric of the ccp and the
00:07:18.280 people's liberation army in china there would be a perfect storm with the united states distracted
00:07:25.420 overstrained to have a taiwan invasion while our focus was elsewhere the ccp and its military
00:07:34.900 counterpart the pla recently made military movements that could signal pending conflict
00:07:41.340 over taiwan we could be in that envelope of a potential invasion let me walk you through the
00:07:47.760 timeline so back in august of 2023 they added 26 planes and 13 ships to the patrols and to the sorties
00:07:57.820 that were around taiwan and i mean this was the biggest increase that we had seen throughout
00:08:04.380 the summer then in september of 2023 taiwan says china bolstered its nearby coastal military bases
00:08:11.820 here's the quote the information we have received is that all important military bases along the coast
00:08:18.260 are being continuously updated now keep in mind these are oftentimes the military bases that they have
00:08:25.060 carved out of reefs they've constructed these islands to be able to project power and to be able to
00:08:31.440 maintain air superiority in the event of some sort of conflict then on october 16th 2023 xi jinping
00:08:38.720 signals that continuity is critical to his political agenda he did this at the chinese communist party
00:08:46.820 congress speech stating quote reunification definitively must be achieved and reunification will be achieved
00:08:55.520 on october 20th 2023 a record number of chinese fighter planes about 100 flew around taiwan in just one day
00:09:04.660 imagine that this tiny little island and they got 100 plus chinese fighter planes almost blanketing the sky
00:09:13.080 also october 2026 2023 a chinese j11 fighter conducts a dangerous intercept of a u.s b-52 bomber at night
00:09:25.620 in international airspace over the south china sea watch and listen to that encounter
00:09:31.140 the u.s military has released video of yet another chinese fighter jet harassing and flying dangerously close
00:09:40.420 to a u.s military plane officials say this happened tuesday over the south china sea the chinese jet
00:09:46.760 coming within 10 feet of the american b-52 the pentagon says the chinese military has made similar
00:09:53.460 reckless maneuvers on u.s planes more than 180 times in the past two years china claims most of the sea as
00:10:01.360 theirs but the u.s now all of this is going on seemingly in a very short period of time
00:10:09.600 also late october you get the chinese moving the shandong carrier strike group into the bashi channel
00:10:16.260 entering the western pacific adjacent to taiwan this is the chinese aircraft carrier system that they
00:10:23.020 would use to project power and to maintain air dominance then on october 30th 2023 the vice chairman
00:10:30.280 of the pla said that an invasion and a war on taiwan would be quote just and legitimate
00:10:37.900 so i cover these things because as you see a lot of the mainstream media focusing on what's going on
00:10:44.760 in ukraine and certainly what's going on in israel we cannot forget that america's pacing challenge
00:10:49.840 is china they are making aggressive moves and they're doing so i think with a keen eye
00:10:56.500 to the distractions that we are facing particularly in ukraine
00:11:00.640 we should not borrow money from china to go fight wars in ukraine or in the middle east
00:11:07.820 and fortunately speaker johnson has given us the ability with these offsets with the irs
00:11:12.460 so we don't have to do that i think as china sees us borrowing more money from them
00:11:16.280 they see us as weaker they see us as more conquerable and they see us as less likely
00:11:22.060 to prohibit their ambitions in the south china sea and certainly as it relates to taiwan
00:11:27.080 i want to deal now with matters closer to home and here in the house of representatives
00:11:32.780 and i couldn't help but notice how here in the last few days the new york times has really moved
00:11:41.620 i mean they have really proliferated their viewpoint about the changes we've made in the house let's put
00:11:47.300 up this first headline from the new york times october 4th 2023 how gerontocracy explains the matt gates
00:11:56.460 clown show so october 4th it's the matt gates clown show going on in congress and this printed in the
00:12:02.800 new york times you can analyze the circus in the house of representatives in terms of personalities
00:12:08.300 the bland ambition of kevin mccarthy coddling with the antic made for television career of matt gates
00:12:15.520 what they have in matt gates who in his own way is truth-telling when he criticizes the
00:12:21.620 can-kicking style in which mccarthy has tried to negotiate between his own members and the democrats
00:12:27.140 or when he tells reporters gathered for his performances that the leaders of both parties
00:12:32.360 are custodians of american decline here's the operative sentence but gates has of course no
00:12:39.620 politically plausible vision of his own so beginning of the month it's a clown show that i run
00:12:47.040 what i'm saying about spending and the need to reform congress those are all performances and i have no
00:12:54.100 vision no opportunity for success fast forward to october 26th matt gates created a win-win situation for
00:13:03.860 himself also published in the new york times and uh here we even get a reference to firebrand
00:13:12.400 matt gates republican of florida and mccarthy's bet noir confirmed this week on firebrand quote
00:13:20.660 if we end up with a more conservative speaker then we will have achieved an upgrade at the position and
00:13:25.240 if not you will know why this implicit threat that you either have to accommodate mr gates and his allies
00:13:31.320 or fulfill their grievance narrative was not lost on a weary conference looking to make peace
00:13:37.020 however fleeting enter mr johnson who is broadly acceptable to the conference even as democrats
00:13:43.440 blanch at his statements and record taking cue from mr gates the hardliners have decided to take
00:13:50.440 the win at least for the time being there are early signs that mr johnson may be treated with a level of
00:13:56.720 political grace not afforded to other hopefuls so we've gone from the clown show with no vision
00:14:03.280 to the win-win situation they're setting it up and now that we've actually seen mike johnson's plan
00:14:10.320 a return to single subject spending bills we have a whole new perspective published in the new york times
00:14:17.320 here october 31st just yesterday on this issue matt gates actually has a good point this from peter
00:14:26.980 suderman just days before winning the race for house speaker last week representative mike johnson of
00:14:31.200 louisiana sent a letter to his colleagues laying out a plan to complete the brush budget process by
00:14:37.000 bringing 12 individual appropriations bills to the floor mr johnson built his plan as a way to quote
00:14:45.100 allow us to demonstrate good governance it put him firmly in the camp of the gop rebels like matt gates
00:14:52.980 of florida who led the revolt against speaker kevin mccarthy and has been called whack job a whack job by
00:14:59.940 their own colleagues whack jobs i remember that they've been likened to economic terrorists for
00:15:05.320 their actions during budget negotiations but in one way the whack jobs have a point the federal budget
00:15:11.960 process is broken it has been broken for decades what the republican rebels say they want isn't
00:15:17.760 congressional chaos but the opposite good government legislative transparency and real demand i'm sorry
00:15:26.080 and real democratic accountability when it comes to the power of the purse they want to achieve this
00:15:31.200 through a return to regular order which means passing individual appropriations bills and allowing
00:15:37.020 for a more open debate and amended process on the bills that is what mr johnson has promised
00:15:43.860 for years sober budget policy experts on the right and left have called for a return to regular order
00:15:51.020 viewing the current process as broken and corrosive the closed door nature of this process leads to
00:15:58.560 distrust within the congress so what what a movement from the clown show to the win-win to the actual good
00:16:08.020 substantive point that we are making and what's most important is not just that we are articulating
00:16:13.240 a vision for a budget process that returns to regular order but that our new house speaker mike johnson
00:16:17.960 shares that vision it is his vision it is what he has promised the country the republicans in congress
00:16:24.480 and it is the only way to ever create any type of downward pressure on spending but of course
00:16:31.500 predictably because mike johnson isn't bought and paid for by the swamp because he hasn't spent his entire
00:16:38.100 career thinking about what decorations he would have in the speaker's office because he hasn't bent knee to
00:16:44.540 every special interest group in this town the knives are out for mike johnson and perhaps the most
00:16:50.560 ridiculous critique we have seen to date comes from the daily beast
00:16:54.880 does the new speaker of the house mike johnson have a bank account and essentially this roger
00:17:02.160 sallenberger piece from the daily beast criticizes mike johnson because he is not rich he is not corrupt
00:17:11.440 and he is not rich as a consequence of being corrupt here's the piece what's more likely is
00:17:19.840 that johnson lives paycheck to paycheck oh see at the daily beast i guess they look down their nose at
00:17:24.560 the 61 of americans who live paycheck to paycheck so much so that he doesn't have enough money in his
00:17:30.140 bank account to trigger the checking account disclosure rules for members of congress you see the ethics
00:17:35.720 committee requires you to submit any account that at a particular date has more than five thousand
00:17:41.160 dollars in it so if mike johnson is living paycheck to paycheck well then he likely could not could
00:17:48.640 could fall below those disclosure requirements and oh this has got the daily beast quite animated
00:17:54.460 back to their writing it's certainly not uncommon for americans to have less than five thousand dollars
00:17:59.420 in their bank account most americans couldn't handle an unexpected thousand dollar expense according to a
00:18:04.960 report earlier this year and the median account that america amount that americans keep in their bank
00:18:10.400 account is fifty three hundred dollars but johnson's household income puts him in the top 12 percent of
00:18:17.080 earners in the united states and it's extraordinarily rare for members of congress to not list a qualifying
00:18:22.660 bank account let alone zero assets whatsoever so mike johnson doesn't trade stocks he's not involved in shady
00:18:31.440 business deals he's a father of five kids who by the way i think a good number of them have gone
00:18:37.940 through lsu and even though that's a state school it ain't cheap to send kids to college and the fact
00:18:43.120 that this guy lives paycheck to paycheck and doesn't have all these exquisite sources of income because he's
00:18:48.380 not trading stocks to come in a pauper and leave a prince from the united states congress the daily b says
00:18:56.500 that he is vulnerable to exploitation you know who i think is vulnerable to exploitation the people who
00:19:03.440 are trading the stocks and who do get their ne'er-do-well relatives a bunch of no-show jobs so i think mike
00:19:10.760 johnson is a man of great character and the fact that the daily beast is uh is attacking him for not being
00:19:17.620 rich i think will only endear him to more of our fellow americans we also uh today want to give you an
00:19:26.500 update from the colorado courthouse now in colorado you're seeing a play that democrats tried
00:19:32.300 previously in georgia when they tried to get marjorie taylor green disqualified from the ballot
00:19:38.360 because they didn't approve of her language or rhetoric or behavior leading up to january 6th
00:19:44.360 you know we have elections in this country where the voters are supposed to be empowered to make the
00:19:49.020 decisions about who governs them not some judge deciding that in their eyes someone isn't worthy to
00:19:56.480 stand for election that is an incredible abuse of the article 3 courts and it is a diminution in the
00:20:02.920 rights of all americans ensconced in the constitution and in our general principles of self-government
00:20:10.560 government so this decision in colorado is going to be made in a courtroom on a petition
00:20:17.020 from colorado voters to exclude donald trump from the ballot to just say as a consequence of january 6th
00:20:24.940 people in colorado shouldn't be able to vote for him and of course they've chosen colorado with the
00:20:29.920 hopes that they would get a biased liberal judge to set precedent that they would then carry to the
00:20:36.060 states that really matter and it just turns out that in colorado the leftists who want to limit
00:20:43.900 your choices in an election got exactly the judge they wanted they got a judge who actually personally
00:20:53.380 politically donated to a colorado campaign to try to get people to defeat lauren boebert ken buck
00:21:02.180 doug landborn other republicans and so as you might expect the trump team filed a filed a motion
00:21:11.900 to get the judge's ruling on recusal because if it is even the appearance of impropriety
00:21:19.060 they're supposed to be recusal sasha what i want to do i want to go first to what the colorado turnout
00:21:25.140 project was let's get that on the screen so the colorado turnout project is the campaign that this
00:21:32.540 judge judge sarah wallace donated to and i'm going to read you their mission statement the colorado
00:21:40.420 turnout project is a coalition of colorado students activists veterans and coloradans from all walks
00:21:45.000 of life who are fed up with the complicity of colorado's republican representatives in our nation's
00:21:51.380 venomous political atmosphere so already sentence number one they're saying that republicans are
00:21:58.040 contributing to a venomous political atmosphere the mission statement continues we formed shortly after
00:22:03.980 colorado republicans refused to condemn the political extremists who stormed the united states
00:22:08.580 capitol on january 6 2021 in fact republican representative lauren boebert even encouraged
00:22:15.240 the violence that that is such nonsense the colorado turnout project aims to prevent violent insurrections
00:22:22.420 by addressing the problem at its source if we vote out pariahs like representative boebert
00:22:28.620 we can turn colorado blue once and for all we aim to strengthen colorado's democratic congressional
00:22:36.580 majority and expand it by taking the remaining three republican seats in our state can you join us in our fight
00:22:44.400 to remove hate mongers like boebert from colorado's house delegation we are hate mongers we are venomous
00:22:53.580 we are insurrectionists that's the colorado turnout project and the judge overseeing the case about whether
00:23:02.840 whether or not trump is going to be able to be on the ballot gave money to support that politics
00:23:09.320 that just naked partisanship and when she ruled on the recusal motion this is what she said take a listen
00:23:18.340 i do not dispute that in october 22nd prior to taking the bench i apparently gave a hundred dollar contribution
00:23:38.820 to the colorado turnout project that being said prior to yesterday i was not cognizant of this organization
00:23:47.300 or its mission it has always been my practice whether i was entirely successful or not to make contributions
00:23:56.340 to individuals not packs while i have no specific memory of this contribution it was my practice
00:24:04.180 and my intention to contribute to an individual candidate not a pack i can assure all of the litigants
00:24:13.540 in this litigation that prior to the start of this litigation and to this day
00:24:18.820 i have formed no opinion whether the events of january 6 constituted an insurrection
00:24:25.860 or whether intervener trump engaged in an injured insurrection or for that matter any of the issues
00:24:33.700 that need to be cited in this hearing if i did i would recuse myself but because i don't i deny the motion for recusal
00:24:43.140 that is the worst analysis on a recusal matter i have ever seen this judge sarah wallace
00:24:54.660 donated to an entity that wanted to categorize republicans as venomous insurrectionists and now she is having to
00:25:03.620 preside over these proceed proceedings where they're making those precise claims against president trump
00:25:09.140 it is blatant it is lawfare and one of the questions we got what are you going to do about it well i think
00:25:16.340 the congress has equities in a federal election that we have not defended i think we need to have jack smith
00:25:25.140 before us i think that we need to pass legislation to protect the rights of voters from out of control
00:25:31.380 judges and proceedings like you just saw there in colorado i mean that is like having the referee of the
00:25:37.620 game where the jersey of the other team it's like having the referee of the football game one of the
00:25:44.580 paid boosters of the team that you are playing against and it shows how illegitimate it is and i
00:25:51.460 think getting that information out is essential to our mission here we've also got to get some information
00:25:57.140 out regarding the inappropriate actions potentially unlawful actions of dr anthony fauci there's an article from
00:26:06.420 daily mail that we've just seen that discusses an investigation into the nih under fauci's
00:26:13.380 leadership they were conducting experiments involving coronavirus more than a year before
00:26:18.820 the global outbreak of coven 19 they were doing so with this montana lab in concert with the chinese
00:26:26.980 here are the key facts in 2018 the nih under dr fauci infected 12 egyptian fruit bats with a
00:26:34.420 sars-like virus called wiv1 that was at this montana lab the wiv1 coronavirus was obtained
00:26:43.380 from the same wuhan lab which is suspected to be the source of the covet 19 pandemic
00:26:49.300 the bats were acquired from a maryland zoo and the experiment was aimed to determine whether or not the
00:26:54.500 virus would cause robust infection the research found limited evidence of virus replication and concluded that the
00:27:01.380 virus did not cause robust infection in the bats but there are also key issues regarding funding and
00:27:08.180 collaboration the investigation revealed that u.s taxpayer money was used for these experiments
00:27:13.460 between 2015 and 2023 at least seven u.s entities supported nih grant money totaling 3.3 million
00:27:21.860 dollars that went to labs in china performing animal experience experiments the research was a joint venture
00:27:29.700 between the nih's rocky mountain laboratories and the wuhan institute of virology specifically
00:27:35.700 with their collaborator ralph barrack at the university of north carolina this has not come
00:27:41.460 without substantial concerns and criticisms the investigation was brought to light by a campaign
00:27:47.300 led by a group called the white coast coat waste project they aim to stop american tax dollars from
00:27:53.860 funding dangerous experiments that involve animals white coat waste's founder says quote our investigation
00:28:01.700 has uncovered the real-life horror story of how a shady roadside zoo curated experiments with an nih animal
00:28:11.060 experimenter and shipped off bats to a deadly government virus lab overseen by dr fauci which infected
00:28:19.140 coronavirus that came from the wuhan lab the zoo from which the bats were sourced the kakatan wildlife
00:28:27.540 preserve has had a history of animal welfare violations the public has responded to this information the white coat
00:28:35.220 waste project is now using the freedom of information act to request more details about these particular
00:28:41.220 experiments and of course we will follow those as well and this is why the individual single subject
