00:00:00.000 matt gates the biggest firebrand inside of the house of representatives you're not taking matt
00:00:08.420 gates off the board okay because matt gates is an american patriot and matt gates is an american
00:00:13.740 hero we will not continue to allow the uniparty to run this town without a fight i want to thank
00:00:20.880 you matt gates for holding the line matt gates is a courageous man if we had hundreds of matt gates
00:00:28.320 in dc the country turns around it's that simple he's so tough he's so strong he's smart and he
00:00:35.080 loves this country matt gates it is the honor of my life to fight alongside each and every one of you
00:00:42.880 we will save america it's choose your fighter time send in the firebrands
00:00:48.800 these troops were conducting a vital mission in the region aimed at helping us work with partners
00:00:58.820 to counter isis and even as the defense department gathers more information about the attack
00:01:03.520 that mission must and will continue third the counter isis mission is separate and distinct
00:01:09.940 indeed it has been long-standing and unrelated to our efforts to support israel and to prevent a
00:01:15.380 wider conflict in the region we do not seek another war we do not seek to escalate but we will
00:01:22.240 absolutely do what is required to protect ourselves to continue that mission and to respond appropriately
00:01:29.940 to these attacks now i know the first set of questions i'm going to get are well what does that
00:01:37.020 look like what's appropriate and what response options is the president considering i hope you can
00:01:42.900 understand why i'm not going to telegraph any punches here from the podium nor will i get in front of
00:01:47.460 the president or his decision making he's met twice with the national security team yesterday and today
00:01:52.980 he's weighing the options before him as he said yesterday we will respond we'll do that on our schedule
00:01:59.760 in our time and we'll do it in the manner of the president's choosing as commander-in-chief
00:02:05.320 we'll also do it fully cognizant of the fact that these groups backed by tehran have just taken the
00:02:13.980 lives of american troops and i think i'll leave it there
00:02:17.420 welcome back to firebrand we are live broadcasting out of room 2021 of the rayburn house office building
00:02:24.820 at the capitol complex in washington dc since i've been with you last i've been all over the country
00:02:29.820 iowa new hampshire back down to palm beach florida and then out to montana and what i can tell you
00:02:35.320 is i've not entirely thought out yet there are parts of my body that i think will always be cold
00:02:39.720 after experiencing 30 below but thank you to all of our viewers and listeners around the country i
00:02:45.060 love nothing more than when folks come up and say that they get the real information about what's
00:02:49.160 going on in the united states congress right here on firebrand make sure you're subscribed you've got
00:02:53.560 notifications turned on we have got a big meaty episode about geopolitics what's going on in the
00:02:59.420 middle east and ukraine also we've got a report on our southern border we've got joining us the
00:03:05.740 smartest guy in the united states congress when it comes to what's going on in the middle east in
00:03:10.040 particular cory mills has served in our military he has served with a variety of agencies in the
00:03:16.060 federal government that have had keen interest on the middle east for a long time he's been one of
00:03:20.340 the principal critics of secretary of defense lloyd austin and he joins us now so representative mills
00:03:25.880 what is going on right now in jordan i want to give you the mic you know all the players in the
00:03:30.780 region you know all of the push and pull factors to someone who is waking up to the news that three
00:03:36.200 americans are dead dozens are injured how would you describe what's going on let me first off i
00:03:41.140 think we have to go ahead and take a pause just to go ahead and acknowledge the new gold star families
00:03:45.460 and the sure just got lost uh we also acknowledge and hope for a speedy recovery when it comes to the
00:03:51.480 now 34 people who've been injured so i think that's first and foremost just to look at our
00:03:56.640 armed services looking forward i mean we have to go ahead and do the post post blast analysis on this
00:04:01.520 we have to start looking at identifying exactly what took place whether or not there was a jammer
00:04:05.400 that somehow prevented us from being able to track this capability i don't buy off on the fact that
00:04:10.500 they mistake this for being a friendly we track those things very closely so i know for a fact on a
00:04:14.640 forward outpost like this that's not going to be the case why did it happen how would you answer
00:04:18.540 that question well i think there's a culmination of things obviously we know that china russia iran
00:04:23.660 and north korea are all geopolitically lined they have for many years now that's why they continue
00:04:27.940 to advance things whether it be bricks you know the brazil russia india china south africa which now
00:04:33.500 ksa is involved in that's why they extend the belt and road initiative to take over the eastern
00:04:38.440 european expansion oceania as well as for africa to cut off western hemisphere supply chain that's why
00:04:43.720 they're building military bases and spy bases in cuba 90 miles off of our coast but also using
00:04:48.080 economic coercion around the panama canal to cut us off the point is is that they're all doing this
00:04:53.540 as an effort to try and pull us into a long and prolonged war that even president trump and many
00:04:58.240 have admitted was really stupid for us to be involved in i mean think about iraq and afghanistan
00:05:02.040 for example trillions of dollars thousands of lives what did we truly accomplish nothing we actually
00:05:06.540 increased iran's capabilities and capacity by eliminating saddam who was actually keeping them at bay and so
00:05:12.600 there's a lot of arguments we had but this is not merely about you know just iran or the proxy
00:05:18.120 militias in iraq wanting to launch an attack there's a lot of things that are involved in this to try and
00:05:22.700 bring us into it and look so so you're you're pitching a theory that in a way there's this is a
00:05:28.140 venus fly trap well it's weakness invites aggression and they know there's going to be absolutely nothing
00:05:32.900 that's going to happen look you didn't see these types of attacks whenever president trump was in
00:05:36.880 office because he made it very clear that there would be an absolute decimation of those individuals
00:05:42.040 who actually attack and kill american troops but before this actually occurred this is the thing
00:05:46.420 they have to have the economic means in order to be able to carry these attacks out they have not had
00:05:51.460 that under president trump but under biden they had the largest increase in oil exportation and
00:05:56.480 they iran to iran yes so so all all roads sort of lead back to iran and it that's right it does
00:06:02.560 kind of uh ripen the principal question of this discussion are we at war with iran right now i
00:06:09.160 think we've been at war for decades but americans haven't like yet accustomed themselves to the thing
00:06:14.700 that really has gone on warfare is not about kinetics it's not just bomb to bomb gun to gun bullet to
00:06:20.340 bullet as we think in the 1980s where we're stockpiling for the cold war with munitions we have
00:06:25.240 been in an economic resource supply chain and cyber warfare with china russia iran north korea for quite
00:06:30.940 some time and we have been losing badly even if you talk to those in the military we know psyops
00:06:36.000 psyops is a way to try and go ahead and utilize warfare without kinetics it's an influence operation
00:06:40.520 that's what's going on right now look what just happened with the uae who is no longer going to
00:06:45.500 use our currency to trade in energy why do you think these things are occurring it's because china
00:06:50.080 has continued to try and spread this notion that the dollar will have no valuation and even developing
00:06:55.540 nations are running away and with biden in the office we're going to continue to weaken
00:06:59.120 ourselves on the world stage and this is going to continue to be propagated so there's always the
00:07:02.740 fog of war in these moments and one of the misunderstandings that seems to have emerged is
00:07:08.440 where this attack occurred and we've gotten conflicting reports out of the jordanians let's go ahead and put up
00:07:15.360 this news report three service members killed 34 injured in drone attack on american forces in jordan
00:07:22.180 but then the jordanian state television is quoting one of their government's box saying that this
00:07:29.100 happened in syria it didn't happen in jordan so my assessment here is that jordan is a powder keg that
00:07:37.480 you've got a situation with a population there very distraught and upset over the conflict going on
00:07:44.160 between israel and gaza and you've got a european educated king who often aligns with the west and
00:07:52.440 and collaborates with the west there and so they put out this statement we've seen them subsequently
00:07:57.800 walk it back but you know we've seen the some of the aerial images we're going to be briefed on the
00:08:03.120 armed services committee hopefully soon what do you make of that well i think you're exactly right i think
00:08:08.180 that you saw the intensification of those who are riding those who are having protests with regards
00:08:14.820 to what was occurring in gaza you have the queen who queen rania who is an amazing lady who is also a
00:08:20.980 palestinian ethnicity and so you have people who want to see a stronger robust approach and many people
00:08:27.420 think that king hussein does not actually represent jordan that he was a sandhurst uk cavalry officer who
00:08:34.820 doesn't really uphold the hashamite ways and so you're right with saying it's a powder keg i think
00:08:39.740 that this was originally a this happened on syria not with us therefore we can't be withheld we can't
00:08:44.480 be held accountable because they don't want it to seem as if we're launching attacks out of jordan
00:08:49.280 against anyone who may they see as a ally by some means but you know we we define our work in jordan
00:08:58.000 under train and equip authorities that's right and so uh it would be somewhat awkward if we were
00:09:04.240 doing a whole lot of strike as uh as a an aligned activity with training equipment especially if we
00:09:09.700 didn't actually inform the king or didn't inform the jordanian you know uh intelligence or any of
00:09:15.040 the military there i mean that's an actual violation for what they probably want as regards to like a
00:09:19.320 status of forces agreement to have us there so um yeah but from my understanding though this outpost
00:09:24.560 tower 22 which is in jordan is not an actual combatant outpost we do have military bases which are
00:09:30.640 obviously in syria you and i have argued ad nauseum and debated on the floor about the removal and
00:09:35.480 repeal of a umf 0102 57 and 91 and so my whole thing is is i don't think though what took place in
00:09:42.220 jordan i i go back to your original premise which is that i think that they understand it's a powder
00:09:46.240 keg they don't want to have a protest and a civil unrest that's occurring in jordan and the king was
00:09:52.000 trying to basically go ahead and shadow this out to being a syrian issue as uh we are you know
00:09:58.340 contemplating the different strategic choices we have to make to to not be in a full-fledged
00:10:03.740 kinetic war with iran or their proxies as americans are spilling blood we get the uh not so subtle
00:10:10.640 commentary from lindsey graham and john cornyn two members of the senate lindsey graham saying hit iran
00:10:16.680 now hit them hard senator john cornyn target tehran uh tucker carlson had a uh had a take on that that
00:10:24.460 that was lunacy and shared it on social media what do you make of some of these neoconservatives
00:10:29.920 in the senate saying that the appropriate response to what we have in encountered uh should be direct
00:10:36.400 strikes in iran from the united states well gosh i'd love to see some of these actually come out and
00:10:40.840 say shut the border down now let's go ahead and hit the cartels hard but instead they're so worried
00:10:46.020 about building up the military industrial base and flooding the attacks abroad look where were they
00:10:50.880 under the 150 plus other attacks that occurred in iraq the 39 plus that was occurring by the houthis
00:10:55.760 that disrupted 12 percent of global commerce where are they on these others now all of a sudden it's
00:11:00.300 hit them hard hit them hard neoconservative we're going to go into warfare you know we should pass
00:11:04.520 some law for congress that when you pass an actual like you know the a war act or you try and basically
00:11:09.960 declare war that you need to throw that uniform on yourself and let's see how many of these people
00:11:13.400 continue to yell war war war because every single person that i hear that is so pro-war give more money
00:11:19.680 to ukraine this is the same lindsey graham by the way that was sitting here saying it's so great every
00:11:23.420 time we send money and kill russians it's like what exactly is your motive here are you getting a
00:11:28.960 little bit of a trade off of this because it doesn't make sense that any of these warfares benefit the
00:11:33.060 america first agenda how is spilling more blood in our treasures somewhere else benefiting america at
00:11:38.680 home our borders are number one priority every american knows that building up our economy is number
00:11:42.760 one priority everyone knows that and playing this tit for tat where we're basically going ahead and saying
00:11:48.200 okay we're going to allow our troops abroad to go ahead and play catch with missiles and drone
00:11:52.180 attacks and rockets and then we're going to do a equal and proportionate response why don't we instead
00:11:57.220 of thinking kinetically why aren't we going after them economically why aren't we looking at china
00:12:01.180 who's refining the majority of the oil and saying you're in violation of a sanctioned nation we're going
00:12:05.620 to do the same to you and start decoupling away why are we not looking at things in a smarter way
00:12:09.980 that isn't spilling treasures but actually keeping them at home and helping to protect american lives
00:12:14.840 why are we keeping our troops in these areas to begin with what u.s national interest you assess
00:12:18.860 that that would work you believe that there are levers and pressure points to kind of keep iran and
00:12:23.880 their proxies in a box that doesn't lead to full-fledged war now i would argue that when trump took out
00:12:29.340 soleimani that crippled this network of proxies for quite some time and now they're you know they're
00:12:34.860 starting to flex as a consequence of biden giving six billion dollars to iran well i would argue that
00:12:39.800 the elimination of qasem soleimani and abu medial muhandis only resulted in the replacement of ishmael
00:12:45.100 ghani and abu farak al muhammadawi which the only thing that slowed it down is that ishmael ghani who
00:12:50.000 came in to replace soleimani wasn't a linguist he couldn't speak arabic so that's why what did we
00:12:54.180 actually create we had the general secretary of lebanon hassan nasrallah who who leads hezbollah
00:12:59.700 basically have his son marry qasem soleimani's daughter thereby giving him more political power of
00:13:05.340 the ayatollah and creating khatab hezbollah who's responsible for the majority of the tax on us in iraq
00:13:09.320 so this is not just look the bottom line is that we should have learned over the last 20 years
00:13:13.960 you cannot kill and defeat an ideology through bombs bullets and grenades that is not how
00:13:19.820 ideological beliefs exist that is not how these people become radicalized but we also have to
00:13:24.680 acknowledge what is we have to reevaluate what is our role in the middle east why do we feel that we
00:13:29.320 have to play a pertinent role in the middle east why can't we focus on the priorities of supporting
00:13:33.880 allies pushing things like president trump did which was brilliant which is the abram accords which by the
00:13:38.700 way we know that the october 7th incident was also part of iran's thing because they didn't want
00:13:42.880 saudi arabia to sign the abram accords normalizing relationship with israel because of what that would
00:13:47.020 have meant for the actual stabilization in the region look iran is trying their best to their
00:13:51.620 proxies and china is supporting it as well to make this a regional war they don't want it to just be
00:13:56.860 between hamas and israel they don't want it to just be between our u.s navy and the transit corridors with
00:14:02.240 houthis they want this to be a regional conflict in war to point the finger but to drag us in
00:14:07.260 and that's where things start becoming well and that's that type of a regional war then pits more
00:14:12.460 of these domestic populations against the the monarchies that rule them and in some cases the
00:14:18.020 dictators who rule them correct because in a in a in a conflict that is israel and gaza without
00:14:25.100 spillover iran doesn't achieve its objective of avoiding the isolation that the abraham accords had set up
00:14:31.580 and china doesn't achieve their objective which is continuing to drain down on economic and munition
00:14:36.060 supply from the u.s in the event that they attack taiwan okay so so i want to go to another kind of
00:14:42.960 a claim that we've seen very recently some reporting in the wall street journal indicating this u.s failed
00:14:49.620 to stop attack in jordan after mix-up over drone identity so the argument in this wall street journal
00:14:55.820 piece is that we thought that the nasty drone that came in was a friendly that we confused
00:15:01.560 the nasty for the friendly uh i'm trying to get a briefing soon and i know you and i will be
00:15:08.460 calling for one uh in the coming days if not the coming hours to really get a clear sense of what
00:15:14.080 did we believe the friendly was that was coming back how would our systems have confused those but
00:15:19.500 what's your reaction to this wall street journal report well i absolutely don't buy it and i'll tell
00:15:23.160 you why when we send drones out from any base we track those if we know that it's actually traveling
00:15:28.300 at a certain speed and pace on a certain flight trajectory then we'll know where it's coming in
00:15:33.080 and we'll actually have that highlighted red the question i have then is okay let's just say that
00:15:37.400 it's not a jammer system that's actually blocking communications and that it went dark on us
00:15:41.200 then what is it because we prioritized over the last few years dei over meritocracy now we're not
00:15:46.980 having you know this is almost the airline pilot issue do i want the one with the most hours and the
00:15:50.900 most qualified or do i want one who fits into a certain diversity and equity and inclusion bracket
00:15:55.420 that's what we're starting to have to so you think this was a you think and obviously we've got to
00:15:59.740 get the brief we don't we this is just speculation on what a multitude of different things could be
00:16:04.820 could it be they was a jammer it was a blackout could it be that there was a failure in our actual
00:16:08.940 to be clear we're highlighting potential categories of activity we uh we need to get that briefing i i
00:16:15.060 would suggest that the armed services committee immediately needs to get a tactical level brief on
00:16:21.200 what is going on what do you think should be the components of that brief well we definitely want
00:16:25.400 to see post-blast analysis we want to see what was recovered on site whether or not there was
00:16:30.540 a jam or a communication block why didn't we track this further out what was the pace and speed
00:16:35.800 what was the actual explosive that was utilized and so i want to see a full detailed analysis because
00:16:41.520 here's the whole thing when we talk about the lindsey grams of the world so the corners world hit
00:16:45.700 them hit them hit them the question that i ask is what have we done to prevent the retaliation
00:16:49.740 from coming back to us we can't do this tit for tat if we haven't even increased
00:16:53.580 to protection security and identified why this happened to begin with that's just going to enable
00:16:57.480 it to happen again and we're going to have more dead soldiers that's not the key here what we want
00:17:01.600 to do is to prevent the loss of life to prevent these types of kinetic activities and so having a
00:17:07.380 immediate reaction which is emotional for a proportionate and equal response that all sounds
00:17:12.340 good but we got to get the facts to ensure that we actually can do this in a more methodical and
00:17:16.380 more carried out way you know and i know that in the middle east alliances shift faster than square
00:17:22.300 dancing partners in the american south and you know the tribes and groups that can be aligned with a
00:17:28.100 particular leader or political movement or campaign in one instance can can really shift around like the
00:17:33.340 sands and there was a report in the hill that i took note of and want to ask you about uh and they
00:17:38.340 talk about the connection between those who launched this attack that killed americans and iraq and when
00:17:45.880 americans think about iraq we think well we've got so much blood and treasure and time into that
00:17:51.040 country we all want to believe that the government in iraq is is at least better than saddam or at least
00:17:58.180 less of a threat to the united states with all that we've poured in there but in this report from the hill
00:18:02.740 it reads the department of defense is investigating how an iraqi malicious suicide drone struck the u.s
00:18:08.960 military in a base in jordan on uh on saturday night and i've talked to some folks also familiar
00:18:15.060 with the region that say that this is the islamic resistance in iraq entity that falls within the
00:18:21.200 umbrella of the popular mobilization forces in iraq which is supported by the government so you've got
00:18:27.480 the government of iraq that we still send money to that we that we still are collaborating with at a
00:18:33.780 military level then functioning as an umbrella entity over this popular mobilization force um
00:18:40.860 and then the very people that align and and uh associate there are involved in the attacks against
00:18:48.040 americans so are we funding and supporting the attacks against our own troops well we have to back
00:18:53.800 it up in 2005 george w bush had this brilliant idea to put in paul bremer who is the absolute worst at
00:19:00.220 foreign policy possible he was the reason for the sectarian democracy breakdown during the debathification
00:19:05.540 but what we saw in 2005 under the iraq constitution they had something called article 76 this created a
00:19:11.720 sectarianism that has only existed in like pre-apartheid south africa and northern ireland where they said that
00:19:17.240 the largest parliamentary bloc knowing that would be shia is allowed to pick the president which has to be
00:19:23.400 kurdish and the kurdish president has to pick the prime minister but only from the three people the
00:19:29.260 parliamentary bloc tells him are approved so here's what happens you have heidi al-amri who runs better
00:19:33.980 organization you have former prime minister noriyah maliki who creates the dawah you have muqtadar al-sadr
00:19:39.380 who creates the sayun bloc between the three of them they control all of parliament which means that now
00:19:44.340 you've got the shia iranian-backed militias and oh by the way heidi al-amri is one that went over to
00:19:49.540 iran and fought against saddam with the iranians he's now one of the largest parliamentary blocs so
00:19:54.000 it doesn't matter whether it was al-qadimi it doesn't matter whether it's the current prime
00:19:57.420 minister al-sudani we set iraq up for failure when we put this 2005 iraq i get all that but my
00:20:03.820 question is more i guess visceral like are we going to end up finding out that the people who killed
00:20:10.380 americans and injured americans have some link back to the iraqi government that we find out that it's
00:20:15.120 going to have some type of a political affiliation whether it be haidi al-amri who already runs proxy
00:20:19.840 militias for iran hashd al-shabia sabiyal bin haq we know that kais kazali who is one of his partners
00:20:25.620 runs khatab hezbollah and others who've attacked us it is not a mystery that over a decade plus now
00:20:32.080 that these large parliamentary blocs are actually responsible in supporting the very militias who are
00:20:38.160 attacking our embassies attacking us and we fund them we're still funding them just like we funded and
00:20:42.420 train the what eight coup leaders in africa look we have to start getting our foreign policy right
00:20:48.060 we have not done it for decades and this is what's driving us to the point where we are
00:20:51.580 i i am incensed by this i'm incensed that we are literally participating in an in really a whitewashing
00:20:59.440 of what the iraqi government is doing and allowing and americans are dead as a consequence or to get
00:21:04.480 that foreign policy right uh we do want to turn to the border though something congressman mills my
00:21:09.400 colleague from florida mentioned earlier and we've got a hot reaction from texas lieutenant governor
00:21:14.180 dan patrick regarding the ongoing standoff between state and federal officials here's the lieutenant
00:21:18.640 governor of texas you know the founders never dreamed we'd have a president like this one who would just
00:21:25.040 open the door to everyone and and they said well invasion if if an army came well we're facing an army
00:21:31.000 yeah you're facing an army uh but they're well armed they're well coordinated they're making millions
00:21:36.380 and millions of dollars off of joe biden don't mess with texas we're serious about securing our
00:21:41.100 border and i'm glad the president stood down on friday and did not confront us that would be
00:21:45.160 the wrong thing to do we don't want a confrontation and they shouldn't want a confrontation well that's
00:21:50.060 our job let us do our job because i mean what is this going to turn into a civil war i mean you've got
00:21:54.800 the texas rights versus federal rights both sides with guns and we believe constitutionally we are
00:22:01.820 right we have a right to defend our citizens we have a right to defend this country and we're just
00:22:07.080 doing the job this whole idea of shelby park that they would come there is just ludicrous look these
00:22:12.360 young men and women who serve our national guard and our dps these are the best of the best why would
00:22:17.460 he want to send anyone down to confront them yeah i'm glad they stepped down uh but they need to do
00:22:22.980 the job and the only reason he's paying attention now is because the election in november
00:22:26.400 those texans are patriots they are doing a great job i've had a chance to visit with many of them
00:22:33.200 and all they want to do is secure this border we're here live with congressman cory mills and
00:22:37.900 your reaction to the lieutenant governor saying we don't want a conflict but at the same time texas will
00:22:43.620 not back down well my whole question is is when are we going to acknowledge the 10th amendment rights
00:22:47.460 for state and individual liberties why are we not going to acknowledge texas sovereignty why are we not
00:22:52.360 going to look at the fact that you know these drug cartels which by the way joe biden is like
00:22:56.880 employee of the month every month for these drug cartels in 2021 they went from what was 500 million
00:23:02.600 dollars in revenue in 2018 to 13 billion dollars you don't think that this is impacting the people
00:23:07.960 of texas you don't see the increase in criminality you don't hear in the homeland security committee
00:23:13.000 hearings the mothers who are crying over their children who are being murdered and fentanyl overdoses at 70
00:23:17.900 to 100 000 yes lieutenant dan patrick is absolutely correct texas has a right to stand and fight for
00:23:24.240 itself i stand with texas in their right to their sovereignty so he makes the argument texas isn't
00:23:29.080 backing down but we get this fresh report this morning in politico playbook where a biden administration
00:23:34.160 official is essentially saying that biden is backing down here's here's the backgrounded quote from a
00:23:40.580 biden admin official quote president biden is finally admitting that he's given up on his campaign
00:23:46.580 promise to enact more humane immigration policies than trump he would rather adopt trump's border
00:23:53.720 rhetoric than continue the work he started as vice president to fix the border by addressing the root
00:23:59.260 causes of migration so this is obviously some sort of you know woke admin official for joe biden and
00:24:06.340 they're mad that biden gets that this has been a total failure and they have to take the l and maybe the
00:24:14.100 best way to take that l is to acknowledge that trump's policies were working but if you've got
00:24:20.120 these folks in the admin who are like the lib resistance to joe biden what does it even say
00:24:26.640 about their ability to execute on a border strategy well look you're exactly right when you talk about how
00:24:31.840 he wants to now go back to the trump policies look remain in mexico should have stayed there the entire
00:24:36.620 time title 42 maybe it's not directed around covet but the emergency health care issue is all of those
00:24:44.100 who are coming from south america where they don't have vaccinations for polio we're seeing polio
00:24:47.700 vaccinations getting you know ramped up again here in the united states where we're seeing the fentanyl
00:24:51.940 overdose we could have used title 42 remain in mexico and all the other policies but look we need to just
00:24:56.560 enforce the laws on the books at no point in time do we need to continue to worry about passing new things
00:25:02.140 when we know for a fact that the key issue is let's get all the justices down to the borders
00:25:06.220 to process these supposed asylum claims turn them back around and get them out of our country
00:25:10.560 why are we doing this catch and release 10 years from now you can come to us and and do your court case
00:25:15.540 it's not happening and then we're incentivizing it stop the incentivization if you say if you try to
00:25:21.080 come to the united states if you try to apply look you just violated one law why are we even going to
00:25:26.180 consider you to be an american citizen when that we are a rule of law and you've already shown that you
00:25:31.600 can't follow the law i think that we go ahead and start making things where we get rid of the actual
00:25:35.800 anchor baby situation where one or both parents has to be a citizens in order for their child to
00:25:40.460 qualify i think that we look at trying to make sure that we do the remain in mexico agreement
00:25:44.360 we start looking at working with the south american countries the way trump did to go ahead and hold
00:25:48.540 them in place and not have them skip four five there's a lot of things that we can do that are
00:25:52.720 already existing on the books but also you've got executive order 212 section f president biden can secure
00:25:58.780 the border right now exactly just like this see that is that is the fiction that the open borders
00:26:04.660 crew and frankly the pro-ukraine crew is pitching in washington dc that there has to be some bill to
00:26:10.120 stop this so there has to be some grand bargain all he has to do is what trump did and trump didn't have
00:26:14.880 some special bill he went and utilized the authorities that exist in title 42 and elsewhere to ensure that
00:26:20.480 we stop the flow of people and then that created a sufficient deterrent but he was called a xenophobe
00:26:25.700 remember sure when he was trying to prevent people from coming in he was called a xenophobe and meanwhile
00:26:30.160 all he was doing is what we all should do and that's really protect america that's what this
00:26:34.700 admin official who's out backgrounding against the the biden administration is frustrated about is that
00:26:41.520 there's an acknowledgement that what trump did worked now we've got this terrible amnesty bill that
00:26:47.220 has emerged in the senate that senator langford has supported that you've got you know the whole uh crew
00:26:53.340 over there that always seems to want open borders behind and the reason that that bill is not going
00:26:59.440 to become laws because we will kill it in the house of representatives full stop but that doesn't stop
00:27:04.580 gavin newsom and the folks on msnbc for blaming trump take a listen
00:27:08.440 mitch mcconnell i thought that was shameful what was reported out that he's just completely rolling
00:27:15.300 over and capitulating don't even get me started with the weakness of the current speaker of the house
00:27:19.900 i mean they don't want to deal period full stop they don't want to deal they don't want to make
00:27:24.600 this a quote-unquote campaign win for joe biden it says everything you need to know about the fraud
00:27:29.920 that they're perpetuating on the issue of the border they want to make this a political issue
00:27:34.080 consistently they have wanted to make it ever since there were a few brave souls with that gang of
00:27:39.980 eight if we don't remember those black and white movie days i'm old enough to remember that and ever
00:27:44.540 since there everyone they just walk away they run away the first day he was in office not not the
00:27:49.200 next day the same day he gets sworn in he puts out a comprehensive immigration plan that was and yet
00:27:55.960 you didn't have a counter they had no strategy in terms of of the republican party even even combating
00:28:01.740 that they just wanted to kill it they didn't want to debate it they didn't want to engage 14 billion
00:28:05.540 dollar proposal 14 billion dollar that's his latest proposal to address their stated issue of border
00:28:11.660 security 2300 new border patrol agents another thousand in addition to that to deal with fentanyl
00:28:19.500 close to another billion dollars 850 plus million dollars just for new technology and then address
00:28:25.040 some of the issues of backlog on asylum to address those that are here waiting for asylum claims they
00:28:29.820 won't touch it they don't want to solve this problem they want to use it for political purposes and
00:28:34.080 again i say this as a border state governor no one has to introduce me to this issue we're the largest
00:28:39.440 port in the western hemisphere in the state of california we live this and i think it is a
00:28:45.100 disgrace what the republican party is doing what donald trump is doing and this is hidden in plain
00:28:50.200 sight he sent out a tweet or some truth whatever saying kill it we're back live with congressman
00:28:58.440 cory mills you know what we want to kill amnesty because amnesty makes the problem worse just moments
00:29:04.360 before we came on the air i spoke to president trump about the senate amnesty bill and he wants it killed
00:29:10.320 not because of politics but because of policy the senate amnesty bill will not like improve the border
00:29:19.080 a little bit it will make it far worse if you tell the entire world that the first 5 000 people who show up
00:29:27.940 at our border just get waved in there will be a mass of humanity that will be built up on the other
00:29:34.220 side that will cause tremendous humanitarian carnage that will cause a overrun of the border and if you
00:29:42.320 think that that 5 000 number will ever go down if it were in law that is total that is illusory okay
00:29:49.420 that number will just continue to rise this is the authorized invasion and the langford bill is so bad
00:29:56.740 that any republican who supports that better never run another campaign ad about how they care about
00:30:03.180 border security because it is total surrender total amnesty and you know what president trump wants
00:30:08.240 credit for killing the senate amnesty bill not because of politics but because we want to shut
00:30:14.380 this border down and protect our country your reaction to the langford bill well look i'll tell you
00:30:18.300 ahead of time i would absolutely shoot this bill down i will not support amnesty and you're saying
00:30:22.540 5 000 a day which is polite but let's put it in a real perspective it's 1.8 million people a year
00:30:28.160 in our country and then for gavin newsom to talk about disgrace i'll tell you what's a disgrace
00:30:33.600 he talks about being a border town you mean the fact that you're a border state who liked sanctuary but
00:30:38.300 now every one of your cities is completely riddled with crime the ones that have you know again as
00:30:43.420 governor de santis put it out remember the poop map i mean he literally like brought it out where people
00:30:47.340 are defecating and there's needles all down the sidewalk i mean look this is your state you're going to try
00:30:51.400 and point fingers at the rest of the country and talk about playing politics you and i just mentioned
00:30:55.200 this if the president wants to shut and secure the border he can do it right now under 212 section f
00:31:01.500 he can re-implement the trump policies remain in mexico he can ensure that our cbp and ice are allowed
00:31:07.040 to do their jobs and enforce the actual legislation and the laws on the books at no point in time it's
00:31:12.280 not like you and i are passing this grandiose law where it says violating our sovereignty is something
00:31:17.820 new that's always been on the books and so yes president trump is exactly right we need to kill
00:31:23.220 the amnesty bill and i can tell you i'll be right there to kill the rule on this to make sure that
00:31:27.080 never even gets to a vote speaker mike johnson indicating that it will not come for a vote in
00:31:32.140 the house because we're not for amnesty we want to force joe biden to do exactly what congressman
00:31:36.980 mills and i've been saying use his authorities to do what trump did and stop that flow also on the
00:31:41.960 border breaking news from the homeland security committee ali mayorkas will face two articles of
00:31:47.940 impeachment the first being the willful and systemic refusal to comply with the law secretary
00:31:52.520 mayorkas has violated his oath to defend the constitution of the united states by willfully
00:31:56.780 and systemically refusing to comply with federal immigration laws and acting in a manner
00:32:00.740 subversive to the rule of law despite clear evidence that this willful and systemic refusal to
00:32:06.240 comply with the law has led to unprecedented levels of illegal immigration the fentanyl crisis cartel
00:32:11.260 control at the southwest border and debilitating human and financial costs secretary mayorkas has
00:32:16.920 implemented a catch and release scheme violating the detention requirements and misusing parole
00:32:22.560 authority that's article one article two breach of the public trust secretary mayorkas has breached
00:32:27.940 the public trust by violating his oath to well and faithfully discharge the duties of his office
00:32:33.180 and his statutory duty to control and guard the border of the united states secretary mayorkas
00:32:38.600 willfully failed to replace the enforcement initiatives he had abandoned with viable alternatives
00:32:44.420 that would establish dhs control and would guard the border he's also breached the trust of congress
00:32:51.020 and the american people by knowingly making false statements about the results of his willful and
00:32:55.320 systemic refusal to comply with the law finally secretary mayorkas has obstructed the committee's work
00:33:00.100 on vital oversight investigations even necessitating the issuance of still unsatisfied subpoenas
00:33:06.460 my i think that is well laid out by the homeland security committee the only critique as a lawyer i
00:33:12.380 believe that obstruction should have been its own count i've met with the department of homeland
00:33:17.160 security inspector general and time and again when they are trying to do the oversight that would inform
00:33:22.000 our policy choices and the changes they need to make a dhs mayorkas is himself has been directing
00:33:28.560 obstruction of oversight and so i know that's within the public trust count now but i would have broken
00:33:34.800 it out as a third count but impeachment's coming the real question will we get all the republicans
00:33:39.940 to vote for no democrat will vote to impeach mayorkas do you think we'll have unified republican
00:33:44.920 support i don't see how any republican can vote against the impeachment seeing that this is a willful
00:33:50.320 dereliction the same as you and i pointed out that with secretary austin we actually do have
00:33:54.880 bipartisan support for his removal but yet that's not even made it to the front yet so
00:33:58.500 um look i want to go back to one thing that was talked about when they talk about politics the
00:34:02.660 reason that biden doesn't shut the border down the reason that langford schumer likes to do these
00:34:07.180 types of amnesty deals is because they want to ultimately they know they can shut the border down
00:34:11.360 right now they know they can stop this you know insurgence that is just flowing across but the
00:34:16.040 reality is is that they don't want to so they can tether it to things like the ukrainian funding bills
00:34:20.300 and the other types of international aid that they know they can't get the support for you as a
00:34:24.280 singular bill they want to try and lump this in when it comes to you know kind of this whole thing about
00:34:29.160 the impeachment there is no question that mayorkas has failed to uphold his duties what he swore into
00:34:36.100 oath his oath into office to do and so i think that we have to come together we need to impeach
00:34:41.340 mayorkas we need to go after secretary austin and then we continue to try and do our investigation of
00:34:46.040 the biden crime family with president biden at the top of that the live stream is fired up with anger
00:34:51.140 at mayorkas and what's going on in the border laura on x says two boss leaders here and uh we got
00:34:57.080 feedback from jtutor58 we do not want illegals coming across our border and a lot of criticism
00:35:02.360 of gavin newsom huh imagine that all right so you mentioned ukraine uh news piece i want to go over
00:35:10.980 we're getting this from the ap officials stole 40 million meant to buy arms for the war with russia
00:35:16.880 ukraine says so while we continue to hear folks on the armed services committee and among the defense
00:35:22.840 contractor base say oh just send more just send more money send more weapons to ukraine yet another
00:35:28.160 report 40 million missing what confidence do you have with cash and materiel that what we send there
00:35:35.840 is getting into into the fight i have no confidence that is why even back in december of 2022
00:35:42.880 marjorie taylor green put a something on the floor which is an hr inquiry to do 100 audit on ukraine
00:35:49.920 we said that that was our actual benchmark before we talk about any further funding i want 100% audit
00:35:54.860 of this thing no one wanted to do it the reason why that 40 million dollars that's a lot of money
00:36:00.220 but i guarantee that is a thumbnail sketch of what it will actually be when we see the real audit here
00:36:05.560 when you talk about how many people zelinski has gotten rid of for corruption when you start talking
00:36:09.720 about the procurement arms that are civilian and private procurement arms like specs no tech no export
00:36:15.240 and you could on prom prom all these others who are basically taking some off the top and giving it
00:36:20.200 back to the officials that we have to acknowledge 100 plus billion dollars imagine if it's a fraction of
00:36:25.400 that went to our own border and that's why i am not going to tell the taxpayers if they try to lump these
00:36:29.980 bills in that you have to spend your money you have to spend your money to secure another nation's border
00:36:35.520 in order to secure your own i won't do it no more money to ukraine no more money to these foreign wars
00:36:40.760 secure and put america first invest in our industrial base start decoupling away from china
00:36:45.880 recognize our adversaries and let's get trump back in the white house
00:36:49.180 all right well to the members of the ethics committee that'll be investigating me for that
00:36:55.680 occurring on our official i'll tell you put it on my tab uh so uh you know the the ukraine
00:37:02.200 matter has been galvanizing to a lot of our base because they do see it in terms you just laid out
00:37:07.080 continuing to support for ukraine is viewed by so many americans as selling out our own country
00:37:12.660 and our own interests for some unknowable gain and while i know there are many fair criticisms of
00:37:18.940 mike johnson as house speaker for those looking at the scoreboard under kevin mccarthy we authorized
00:37:24.880 115 billion dollars to ukraine and now you're starting to see that we did that without the adequate
00:37:31.420 controls without the adequate oversight and with a willingness to accept blatant violations
00:37:36.700 of our laws regarding how we're supposed to watch this stuff and under mike johnson zero the house
00:37:43.820 of representatives has authorized zero dollars to ukraine under house speaker mike johnson and that
00:37:49.460 i'm happy about now that's a temporary status it may change but if kevin mccarthy were still speaker
00:37:54.960 we would be filling out the authorizations with no scrutiny no review none of the tough questions
00:38:01.120 that congressman mills just laid out so while progress is sometimes slower than we think and we'll never
00:38:06.660 turn the battleship all at once i do think it means something that our current house leadership
00:38:11.400 is at least asking the tough questions and not sending more money to ukraine final piece i want
00:38:17.260 to cover the national journal had a great uh a great review of podcasts that were coming from members
00:38:24.100 of congress the piece is entitled the sound clips and the fury inside house republicans live streamed revolt

00:39:23.740 we'll be back soon roll the credits
00:39:25.120 so
