The Anchormen Show with Matt Gaetz - Episode 148 – Nancy Pelosi's Knowledge of the Swalwell Spy. Is Andrew Yang Running for NYC Mayor？ Morocco Normalizes Relations With Israel. Nobel Peace Prize Snubs Peace Makers.

00:00:00.000 You ever watch this guy on television?

00:00:03.820 You all were not telling the truth, and you should not be trusted.

00:00:06.580 Congressman Matt Gaetz, thank you for what you did for your country tonight.

00:00:09.300 Be offended with the Democratic whip, not House of Republicans.

00:00:12.260 Like a machine, Matt Gaetz.

00:00:16.080 Welcome to Hot Takes. I'm Congressman Matt Gaetz.

00:00:18.860 I don't always record the podcast from an international airport,

00:00:23.020 but when I do, the sound quality's a little different, so bear with us today.

00:00:27.480 Let's talk about the news.

00:00:28.620 This is Andrew Yang, floating the possibility of a campaign for New York City mayor.

00:00:34.480 The Yang gang, possibly heading to the Big Apple. 0.99

00:00:37.200 Andrew Yang was the presidential candidate who really tried to apply a lot of the Silicon Valley thinking to politics and economics,

00:00:46.080 and he actually attracted a pretty wide cross-section of ideological support.

00:00:51.680 Famously, Tucker Carlson believed that some of Andrew Yang's ideas were worthy of discussion and merit.

00:00:58.620 The principal Andrew Yang policy objective was to give the country a universal basic income.

00:01:06.060 He argued that technology had automated so many jobs away and would continue to do so,

00:01:11.940 concentrating wealth in the hands of people who were the purveyors of that technology

00:01:15.060 and robbing it away from those who would see their jobs rendered functionally obsolete over the course of time.

00:01:24.180 And so New York City may be the place where Andrew Yang gets the opportunity to try out some of his policies,

00:01:29.620 to use it as a laboratory for that type of thinking.

00:01:32.920 I'm sure glad he's not able to do that for the whole country.

00:01:36.480 We'll see how the folks in New York City respond.

00:01:42.520 Congressman Eric Swalwell's close relationship with a Chinese spy continues to dominate the news.

00:01:49.800 Congressman Swalwell went on CNN's program with Jim Sciuto

00:01:54.040 to fire back and demand investigations into those who are raising questions about his activities.

00:02:01.100 Take a listen to Congressman Swalwell.

00:02:02.760 The wrongdoing here, Jim, is that at the same time this story was being leaked out

00:02:08.080 is the time that I was working on impeachment on the House Intelligence and Judiciary Committees.

00:02:12.880 And if this is a country where people who criticize the president

00:02:16.280 are going to have law enforcement information weaponized against them,

00:02:19.520 that's not a country that any of us want to live in.

00:02:21.780 And I hope it is investigated as to who leaked this information.

00:02:26.360 These operations are designed to build relationships,

00:02:29.200 but also possibly to get sensitive information.

00:02:31.460 Are you concerned that you shared any information with this person

00:02:34.380 before you were notified by the FBI?

00:02:37.620 Well, I know that I didn't.

00:02:39.160 Again, I can't talk too much about the details of the case,

00:02:41.600 even though others may have violated their oath.

00:02:43.860 I'm not going to violate mine.

00:02:45.180 But the Axios story made it absolutely clear

00:02:47.620 that no information was ever shared.

00:02:51.160 Except, Jim, the people who did share classified information

00:02:54.340 were the people who leaked this story.

00:02:57.280 And to do that against a critic of the president,

00:03:00.300 they may think that they're going to silence me.

00:03:02.320 They're not going to silence me.

00:03:03.380 I had the opportunity to respond because it's a little bizarre

00:03:07.120 that Nancy Pelosi seems to be so strident in her defense of Swalwell.

00:03:11.700 Well, maybe it's not so odd being that Eric Swalwell really is a machine candidate.

00:03:18.880 He's a candidate that the Pelosi machine churned out of the political operation

00:03:23.600 in the San Francisco area.

00:03:25.620 I was on Laura Ingraham's program last night.

00:03:28.560 I believe Eric Swalwell should be removed from the Intelligence Committee.

00:03:32.840 Take a listen.

00:03:33.540 I'm really troubled that Speaker Pelosi would leave Eric Swalwell on the Intelligence Committee.

00:03:37.580 I mean, what's next?

00:03:38.680 Are we going to try to bring back the Anthony Weiner to serve on the Ethics Committee?

00:03:42.640 Maybe put Jerry Nadler in charge of the Congressional Weight Loss Program?

00:03:46.680 Eric Swalwell shouldn't be blamed because he was targeted by Chinese intelligence.

00:03:50.800 He should be blamed because he should have known better.

00:03:53.440 He should have come to the Congress and assisted us in focusing on China

00:03:57.820 and their malign influence rather than just trying to smear the president,

00:04:02.060 undermine the presidency, not for any type of virtuous policy advancement, but for power.

00:04:09.700 You see, that's why the Democrats are willing to look the other way as to China,

00:04:14.260 because if China is able to help Democrat politicians gain power,

00:04:18.800 then they're less, I think, apt to go after China.

00:04:22.540 This story is from the Washington Post about a week ago.

00:04:29.520 It's instructive on the evolving Swalwell scandal.

00:04:33.520 More than a thousand visiting researchers affiliated with the Chinese military

00:04:37.780 fled the United States this summer, according to the Justice Department.

00:04:42.360 So the FBI had been conducting an investigation into the nexus between research activity going on

00:04:49.120 the United States and the advancing capabilities of the Chinese military.

00:04:53.660 It appears the Chinese government got the message, recalled their researchers.

00:04:58.000 But when you have a thousand people almost in a mass exodus because they're concerned about their

00:05:05.280 connection to an effort to undermine America, it shows you how deep, how dangerous,

00:05:12.800 how determined the Chinese are to replace the United States as the global hegemon. 0.99

00:05:18.200 We don't want that to happen.

00:05:19.980 That's why we've got to be resilient.

00:05:22.060 And it's why the Swalwell story matters. 0.95

00:05:27.760 A Chicago area teachers union put out a tweet that is quite possibly the dumbest thing I've 0.96

00:05:34.480 ever seen on social media. 0.97

00:05:36.500 And that's saying something.

00:05:38.440 At CTU Local 1, this is Chicago teachers union, they tweet,

00:05:43.980 The push to reopen schools is rooted in sexism, racism, and misogyny.

00:05:51.900 No, it's not.

00:05:53.160 It's rooted in our desire to have kids go to school and learn and develop.

00:05:58.480 Frankly, the teachers union desire to keep schools shut is pretty in line with what I've seen

00:06:05.500 from teachers unions.

00:06:06.920 They're oftentimes arguing for less time with children.

00:06:10.600 So here you have this overlay of race and misogyny and sexism to a decision-making process that

00:06:19.140 really just requires logic and reason and nurturing and care for our students.

00:06:25.280 We need schools open.

00:06:26.860 We need teachers to be there.

00:06:28.560 And frankly, teachers unions are starting to be exposed as the anti-student, anti-parent,

00:06:35.560 anti-learning organizations that they truly are.

00:06:38.520 Now, they ultimately deleted this tweet amid the backlash, but it shows what's truly in

00:06:44.560 the wicked hearts of the leaders of this teachers union.

00:06:51.880 Russian bombshell booted from Vladimir Putin's National Guard, allegedly due to envy.

00:06:59.580 We get the story from the New York Post, and it's one of a 32-year-old bikini model who won

00:07:06.260 the Russian National Guard's beauty contest.

00:07:09.640 32-year-old Anna Kramstova was one of more than a thousand entrants in the pageant. 0.85

00:07:16.080 She wins.

00:07:17.180 She actually serves in the Russian National Guard, an elite unit that answers directly

00:07:22.200 to Vladimir Putin.

00:07:23.840 Upon her termination, she says, quote,

00:07:26.300 I was fired because they needed it.

00:07:28.620 I crossed someone.

00:07:30.940 And it's quite something that the photos of this Russian military officer appear to be

00:07:37.040 pretty pervasive online.

00:07:39.300 Now, she also paired those photos with some video of a disinfecting project at a Russian

00:07:45.740 military installation.

00:07:46.740 That is the purported reason for her termination.

00:07:49.940 But she's saying it's envy because she's beautiful.

00:07:54.280 They're even coming for the hotties in Russia. 0.91

00:07:59.700 The Associated Press has a piece we picked up from floridapolitics.com.

00:08:04.900 The live music and concert industry has lost $30 billion during the pandemic.

00:08:12.000 Big tours like Elton John and Post Malone and U2 and Andrea Buscelli,

00:08:17.140 they have seen some of the biggest impact.

00:08:20.480 We are concerned that, gosh, a lot of the jobs that are associated with live music aren't

00:08:25.840 those of the performers.

00:08:27.400 It's the grips.

00:08:28.240 It's the movers.

00:08:29.120 It's the stagehands.

00:08:30.580 It's the people who specialize in lighting and sound.

00:08:33.980 Those are blue-collar jobs.

00:08:35.560 Those are gig jobs.

00:08:36.860 And so folks typically don't have a great deal of economic security for the long term.

00:08:41.660 They're always betting on their next opportunity to get a job and work.

00:08:46.700 They can provide for themselves and for their families.

00:08:49.540 In the state of Florida, we've begun opening up, allowing more and more of the types of

00:08:55.240 activities that would be celebrated with music and dance.

00:09:00.100 Obviously, the confidence that people have in our health system and the vaccines will inform

00:09:05.600 greatly on the ability of this industry to rebound.

00:09:07.860 But remember, we need the creative class.

00:09:11.600 Music and entertainment is a part of that.

00:09:13.680 But the many ancillary jobs associated are critical to the families and livelihoods of

00:09:20.760 so many of our fellow Americans.

00:09:22.480 Let's hope we're all singing and dancing together again very soon.

00:09:26.220 The Nobel Peace Prize has been issued to the UN World Food Program.

00:09:35.820 I mean, look, I'm sure that there's a lot of work that goes to feed people in any food

00:09:42.660 program.

00:09:43.200 But the UN is widely known as a corrupt organization run by member organizations that are more represented

00:09:50.820 by dictators than liberal democracies.

00:09:54.160 And you add, I think, another pretty compelling candidate.

00:09:58.900 Donald Trump should have gotten the Nobel Peace Prize.

00:10:02.240 He created peace with a number of predominantly Muslim countries and Israel, resetting relationships 0.91

00:10:10.780 in the Middle East.

00:10:12.040 Quite something.

00:10:12.780 But really not a surprise.

00:10:15.140 You know, the Nobel Prize, it doesn't really carry the same gravitas that it used to.

00:10:20.240 And naming the UN World Food Program as the winner just sort of makes it look like one

00:10:26.600 globalist organization scratching the back of another.

00:10:30.200 What a shame.

00:10:33.840 Big things are happening in the African nation of Morocco.

00:10:37.300 Morocco entering into a peace deal with Israel, the latest nation to do so, following the

00:10:44.940 Sudan, following Bahrain, following the United Arab Emirates.

00:10:50.040 And there is just a total realignment happening now in the Middle East, recognizing Israel's 0.88

00:10:55.300 sovereignty.

00:10:56.020 And Morocco, as they become a stronger, more trusted ally of the United States, also can be

00:11:02.360 trusted with some additional responsibilities.

00:11:04.760 And the United States has recognized Morocco's jurisdiction over the Western Sahara, something

00:11:11.300 that they have been working toward for a long time.

00:11:14.660 Behind the scenes, the man that made this happen was the Trump-appointed U.S. ambassador

00:11:19.900 to Morocco, David Fischer.

00:11:21.940 He's a great friend of mine, a great patriot, a great diplomat, a great day, certainly, for

00:11:27.860 Morocco, Israel, and the United States.

00:11:30.480 We always love sharing news of new discoveries.

00:11:37.560 This story comes to us from Business Insider India.

00:11:41.060 As rare as a unicorn, a new horse-sized species of beaked whale has been spotted off the coast

00:11:49.920 of Mexico.

00:11:51.100 Researchers may have spotted a new species of this beaked whale in the Pacific Ocean off

00:11:56.340 the coast of Mexico, whales do not match any of the previously known 23 species of beaked

00:12:04.720 whales, either visually or as a consequence of the sounds that they make.

00:12:08.800 And what makes the sighting even rarer is that the whales came right up to swim next to the

00:12:13.680 boat, even though beaked whales are known for staying deep underwater to avoid their primary

00:12:19.520 predators, the killer whale.

00:12:21.660 Now, these were researchers from the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society.

00:12:27.060 Paul Watson, famously of Whale Wars, is kind of the masthead of that organization.

00:12:33.780 They go out and harass some of the whaling folks, and it did make for good documentary 0.96

00:12:39.180 television.

00:12:40.460 And they have made this discovery, reported it, and it'll be interesting to see what we learn

00:12:46.220 about this potentially new species of whale in the Pacific.
